1st (8) (7.5/1 -25%) All About Alice |
7.5/1(-25%) | (8) All About Alice 7.5/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 9/1, sixth of 8 in minor event at Lingfield (13f, good) 15 days ago, slowly away. Back up in trip and capable of a bold show if on a going day. Didn't run badly on last couple of turf starts but is not the percentage call here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (2.5/1 +44%) Alioski |
2.5/1(+44%) | (5) Alioski 2.5/1, Creditable second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (16f, soft, 11/8) 34 days ago. Untried beyond 1½m in this sphere but stamina shouldn't be an issue and he's in with a shout. Second in 2m hurdle last month and looks well worth another crack at this trip on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2.75/1 +39%) Team Endeavour |
2.75/1(+39%) | (3) Team Endeavour 2.75/1, Winner at Wetherby in June. 11/2, creditable second of 12 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f) 6 days ago, no match for winner. That represented a step forward compared to his previous efforts on synthetics but still leaves him short of what will be required here. Game 2m turf winner in June and ran well in defeat over 1m6f on Polytrack on Thursday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (8.5/1 -42%) Kitten's Dream |
8.5/1(-42%) | (2) Kitten's Dream 8.5/1, Unreliable type. 18/1, sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 26 days ago. Positive jockey booking but he's opposable all the same on this polytrack debut. Did not enjoy run of the race when sixth last time; on good mark; Simon Walker rides. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (18/1 -100%) Cinzento |
18/1(-100%) | (6) Cinzento 18/1, One win from 3 runs this year. Won 12-runner handicap at Kempton (16f, 80/1) 77 days ago, all out. 2 lb nudge looks about right but his in-and-out profile tempers enthusiasm. Shock winner at Kempton last time; 2lb rise manegable if he's in the same form again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (20/1 -344%) Iconic Mover |
20/1(-344%) | (7) Iconic Mover 20/1, Remains a maiden after 16 Flat runs. 2/1, respectable fourth of 8 in minor event at Lingfield (13f, good) 15 days ago. Back up in trip and should give another good account. Consistent this year but appears to have very little margin for error off current mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (18/1 -64%) Fighting Poet |
18/1(-64%) | (4) Fighting Poet 18/1, 10/1, tenth of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 65 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Shouldn't be judged too harshly on that and he needs a second look here having slipped to an attractive mark. Second to much-improved rival here in June but well beaten since; hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (3.5/1 -17%) Sir Joseph Swan |
3.5/1(-17%) | (1) Sir Joseph Swan 3.5/1, One win from 3 runs this year. Career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Yarmouth (14.1f, good to firm, 15/2) 21 days ago. More needed if he's to follow up off this 3 lb higher mark back on the AW. Returned to form with win under Brodie Hampson this month; 3lb rise not excessive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (40/1 -43%) Eaux De Vie |
40/1(-43%) | (9) Eaux De Vie 40/1, 66/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (14f) 26 days ago. Little appeal. Yet to be placed after seven runs; first attempt at 2m today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A taking winner at Yarmouth last time out on just his third run for new connections, SIR JOSEPH SWAN is open to further improvement going back up in trip and a 3lb rise for that success may not be enough to stop him from following up. Runner-up on three of his last four starts, Iconic Mover can give him the most to think about, while Chelmsford runner-up Team Endeavour is noted too.
A chance is taken on ALL ABOUT ALICE, who was a shade below par on turf here last time but shaped well at Leicester prior to that and is on a competitive mark. Alioski has performed with credit all 3 starts since returning from a break in June (the latest over hurdles) and he is second choice ahead of Fighting Poet. Though 0-16, Iconic Mover has been knocking on the door this year and should make his presence felt, too.

1st (1) (0.8/1 +42%) Belo Horizonte |
0.8/1(+42%) | (1) Belo Horizonte 0.8/1, Made it back-to-back wins when landing the odds (1/3) in 10-runner minor event at this venue (7f, good to firm) 9 days ago. Carries penalty on his handicap debut, but can score again in his current form. Bids for quick hat-trick after comfortably bagging two basement-grade classified races. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 +33%) Al Tarfa |
6/1(+33%) | (3) Al Tarfa 6/1, Made no impression when eighth of 12 in handicap (6/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 36 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. More required to take advantage of a further drop in weights. Ran okay on handicap debut in June but two lesser efforts have followed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (6/1 -20%) Kodi Noir |
6/1(-20%) | (11) Kodi Noir 6/1, Back to form on last 2 starts, third of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 12/1) 36 days ago. Enters calculations having been eased further in the weights. Placed on last two of five stable starts and still unexposed over 1m; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (25/1 -178%) Edmund Ironside |
25/1(-178%) | (10) Edmund Ironside 25/1, Step back in right direction when fourth of 8 in handicap at Beverley (8.4f, good to firm, 9/1) 54 days ago. Makes polytrack debut on first run for yard after leaving K. R. Burke. Could be thereabouts. Signed off for Karl Burke with fairly good run last month; bit more needed on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (12/1 +0%) Hazel Bear |
12/1(+0%) | (4) Hazel Bear 12/1, Fared bit better than of late when seventh of 11 in handicap (25/1) at Chelmsford City (1m) 36 days ago, every chance until fading final 1f. Others look stronger. Ran quite well in July, her second start after a break; ought to be at concert pitch now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (22/1 +12%) Nahwand |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Nahwand 22/1, Hasn't offered much sent handicapping for his current yard, eleventh of 12 at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to firm, 50/1) 20 days ago. Has first try at 1m with visor now the choice of headgear. All three runs for this stable have been very disappointing; headgear switched today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (20/1 -186%) Thawg |
20/1(-186%) | (5) Thawg 20/1, Successful at Brighton in May. However, well held when last of 10 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good, 14/1) 11 days ago. Makes polytrack debut with cheekpieces on 1st time. Needs to get back on track dropped in grade. Narrowly won run-of-the-mill maiden in May but down the field in both handicaps this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (14/1 +13%) Sea The Buckthorn |
14/1(+13%) | (2) Sea The Buckthorn 14/1, In first-time hood, back on track when fifth of 12 in handicap (40/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 36 days ago, though carried head awkwardly. Task is now to build on his latest effort. Safely held on last month's handicap debut but subsequent fifth was more encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (28/1 -100%) Macho Mania |
28/1(-100%) | (6) Macho Mania 28/1, In first-time cheekpieces, well below form when last of 7 in handicap at Epsom (7f, good to soft, 25/1) 27 days ago. Needs to leave latest effort behind returned to all-weather. Soundly beaten over 7f on both stable starts; tries a new trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (40/1 -100%) Charming Lily |
40/1(-100%) | (7) Charming Lily 40/1, Has finished down the field both starts this year, last of 13 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm, 66/1) in May. Tongue strap on for 1st time, but has enough to prove after 3 months off. Placed in 1m novice last September but struggled in two handicaps in the spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (25/1 -150%) Tenrai |
25/1(-150%) | (9) Tenrai 25/1, Followed a good run with a below-par one when fifth of 6 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, good to firm, 15/2) 11 days ago. Capable if on a going day as she drops back down in trip. Ran well in defeat two starts ago but well beaten since; tends to race too freely. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
It is difficult to look past BELO HORIZONTE, who arrives on the back of a pair of easy successes at Yarmouth and on the turf track here recently. A career-high mark of 57 will make life tougher, but he should have too much for Thawg, who is capable but has yet to put it all together at handicap level. Edmund Ironside and Kodi Noir can also have a say in proceedings.
BELO HORIZONTE has been going the right way since the cheekpieces went on, scoring easily on turf at this venue 9 days ago, and he can land the hat-trick as he makes his handicap debut. Kodi Noir has returned to form on his last 2 starts and could be the main danger, ahead of Edmund Ironside.
Belo Horizonte is opposed with HAZEL BEAR, who is well treated on her winter qualifying runs and shaped quite well last month.

1st (1) (22/1 -38%) Aljadel |
22/1(-38%) | (1) Aljadel 22/1, Twice-raced filly. 11/1, last of 7 in maiden at Epsom (7f, good) 48 days ago, slowly away. Improvement needed on debut for new yard. Unable to land a telling blow on her two 7f starts for Marco Botti; now with new stable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (3/1 -9%) Queen's Music |
3/1(-9%) | (6) Queen's Music 3/1, Price rose to €25,000 when resold as a 2-y-o. Half-sister to several winners, including 13f winner Rattle And Hum and 6f-7.6f winner Comanchero, while her dam was a 2-y-o 6f winner. Confidence behind her in the betting would look significant. 25,000euros 2yo; 12th foal; half-sister to six winners; Oisin Murphy booked for debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (125/1 -279%) Mrs Nell |
125/1(-279%) | (11) Mrs Nell 125/1, Once-raced filly. Last of 11 in maiden (11/1) at Kempton (7f) on debut 16 days ago, missing break. Hard to warm to on the back of that display. Slowly away and always behind on recent debut at Kempton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (28/1 -56%) Blenheim Star |
28/1(-56%) | (9) Blenheim Star 28/1, Foaled March 6. 14,000 gns yearling, Churchill filly. Dam, 2-y-o 6f winner, half-sister to smart 7f/1m winner Raaeq. Wears hood. Yard's newcomers typically come on for a run but she's worth a peek in the betting. Wears headgear on debut and stable has occasional first-time-out winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/1 -120%) Belle Flora |
11/1(-120%) | (2) Belle Flora 11/1, Twice-raced filly. 4/1 and hooded for 1st time, last of 9 in maiden at Epsom (7f, good to firm) 12 days ago. Worth another chance given the promise she showed on debut at Newbury. Recently ran as though some was was amiss but last month's Newbury debut was promising. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (1.5/1 +33%) Briar Rose |
1.5/1(+33%) | (3) Briar Rose 1.5/1, Promising individual. Fifth of 12 in minor event (20/1) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) on debut 17 days ago. Will be more street-wise this time and she's a big player. Did well to finish fifth of 12 on recent Windsor debut; leading contender here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (10/1 -82%) Alwedad |
10/1(-82%) | (8) Alwedad 10/1, First foal out of a dam who was lightly raced in UAE/US, herself a half-sister to useful 1m winner Runup. Yard operates at a healthy strike rate with 2-y-os and the market should be revealing where this filly is concerned. Out of half-sister to three US sprint winners; stable has plenty of winning newcomers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (80/1 -60%) Queen Of Africa |
80/1(-60%) | (7) Queen Of Africa 80/1, Once-raced filly. 50/1, ninth of 11 in maiden at Kempton (7f) on debut 16 days ago. Readily passed over. A down-the-field 50-1 shot on recent Kempton debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (4.5/1 +50%) Jazzy Angel |
4.5/1(+50%) | (5) Jazzy Angel 4.5/1, Foaled March 30. Harry Angel filly. Dam useful French 9.5f winner. Interesting to see what the market has to say. Out of a French Listed-placed AW winner; well worth a glance in the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (16/1 +0%) Majolica |
16/1(+0%) | (10) Majolica 16/1, Once-raced filly. 12/1, ninth of 10 in maiden at Kempton (7f) on debut 16 days ago. In good hands and will probably leave that form behind in time but others make more appeal here all the same. 12-1, weakened out of contention after racing too freely on recent Kempton debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BRIAR ROSE caught the eye on her debut at Windsor recently, when not getting the clearest of runs about a furlong from home before running on late to grab fifth. With improvement expected on that effort, Ed Dunlop's charge can get off the mark at the main expense of Belle Flora and well-bred newcomer Queen's Music. Aljadel and Gregorina are capable of being in the mix too.
While a couple of these have already shown a fair level of ability, QUEEN'S MUSIC certainly wouldn't need to be out of the ordinary to make a winning debut. Armed with a good pedigree and Oisin Murphy in the hot-seat, the hint should be taken if the market speaks in her favour. Of those with experience, Briar Rose, who shaped with promise on her recent introduction at Windsor, is feared most ahead of Belle Flora. Alwedad and Jazzy Angel both need a second look in the betting.
Windsor fifth BRIAR ROSE sets the form standard and, given that a few things went wrong for her there, she ought to be tough to beat.

1st (7) (4/1 +11%) Saturnalia |
4/1(+11%) | (7) Saturnalia 4/1, Ran well and probably deserves a bit of extra credit having made his bid on the far flank when second of 7 in handicap on turf course here (6f, good to firm, 11/4) 18 days ago. Can give another good account. Clear second in 6f turf handicap here this month; gets another chance off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3/1 +40%) How Impressive |
3/1(+40%) | (2) How Impressive 3/1, 7/1 and visored for 1st time, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Haydock (7.2f, good) 18 days ago, doing too much too soon. Still to win a handicap but could be ready to strike with Murphy on board for the first time. Placed on turf this month and returns to AW on a good mark; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (8/1 -45%) Ideal Guest |
8/1(-45%) | (4) Ideal Guest 8/1, 5/1, bounced back to his best to take full advantage of a sliding mark to win 8-runner handicap at Yarmouth (7f, good to firm) 2 weeks ago. Could prove vulnerable back up in the weights, however. Dominated from the front at Yarmouth a fortnight ago and is suited by this C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (8/1 -78%) Silver Screen |
8/1(-78%) | (3) Silver Screen 8/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2021. 7/2, creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 16 days ago, denied a run over 1f out. Was well supported last time and she can get in the mix from a slightly reduced mark. Denied clear run when very respectable sixth at Wolverhampton this month; considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (8/1 +50%) Red Hat Eagle |
8/1(+50%) | (8) Red Hat Eagle 8/1, 16/1, fared no better than on reappearance when ninth of 11 on handicap debut at Nottingham (6.1f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Hood on 1st time. Not easy to make a case for. Soundly beaten on handicap debut (6f, turf) but might fare better now back over 7f on AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (28/1 -75%) Dicko The Legend |
28/1(-75%) | (12) Dicko The Legend 28/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, tailed-off last of 7 in handicap at Sandown (8f, heavy) 4 weeks ago. Makes polytrack debut. Safely held in turf handicaps on first two stable starts; returns to AW with bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (6/1 +50%) Thapa Vc |
6/1(+50%) | (1) Thapa Vc 6/1, C&D winner. Ran poorly when seventh of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, good to firm, 8/1) 18 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Now 2 lb below last winning mark and shouldn't be underestimated. Won off 2lb higher in May but his tendency to start slowly has become a serious concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (10/1 -11%) Purple Poppy |
10/1(-11%) | (14) Purple Poppy 10/1, C&D winner in April. Good second of 9 in handicap (7/1) at this C&D (AW) 15 days ago. Holding her form well at present, so fancied to be involved. In good form but has combination of ride in grade and wide draw to overcome today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (25/1 -213%) Chorus Line |
25/1(-213%) | (11) Chorus Line 25/1, Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Leicester (7f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Sound effort when fourth at Leicester this month; has possibilities if cheekpieces help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (33/1 -200%) Hul Ah Bah Loo |
33/1(-200%) | (6) Hul Ah Bah Loo 33/1, Course winner in February. Probably remained in form when fifth of 7 in handicap (7/1) at this course (8f, AW), needing stronger gallop. Off 4 months and merits consideration if ready to roll. In good form over 1m here in early part of year; back from four-month break today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (28/1 -100%) Ajrad |
28/1(-100%) | (13) Ajrad 28/1, C&D winner. 11/1, took a step back in the right direction when fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 15 days ago, not ideally placed. Sound each-way claims. Did not enjoy run of the race when fifth over C&D this month; lurks on dangerous mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (100/1 -614%) Perfect Focus |
100/1(-614%) | (10) Perfect Focus 100/1, 5/2, respectable second of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f). Off 16 months. Rejoined yard after leaving Henry Spiller. Watching brief advised. Ran well in defeat when last in action, but that was in May 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (5) (10/1 -25%) Maharajas Express |
10/1(-25%) | (5) Maharajas Express 10/1, Hooded for 1st time, last of 8 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, soft, 28/1) 25 days ago. Better showing anticipated back on the all-weather. Comes here after two heavy defeats on turf; needs to get back on track. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Thapa VC has a good record on the all-weather with six of his seven career victories, including one here over C&D, coming on a synthetic surface. Although well beaten here last time, he has dropped to the same make as his latest success. Purple Poppy arrives in good form and she could also go well, but George Margarson has his string in fine fettle so IDEAL GUEST could be the one. A winner at Yarmouth last time out, Tom Queally takes over in the saddle and he won off a higher mark last year.
Plenty in with a squeak but preference is for HOW IMPRESSIVE, who did too much too soon under an aggressive ride when third at Haydock earlier this month and with Oisin Murphy on board for the first time, Hugo Palmer's 4-y-o can break his duck in handicap company at the expense of Silver Screen, who didn't get the rub of the green last time and lurks on a dangerous mark. Purple Poppy and Thapa Vc can fight out minor honours.

1st (2) (1.62/1 +64%) Alexi Boy |
1.62/1(+64%) | (2) Alexi Boy 1.62/1, Once-raced colt. Sixth of 9 in minor event at Leicester (5f, soft, 11/4) on debut 35 days ago. Open to improvement starting out for new yard here and he's one to consider. Second favourite, 6th of 9 at Leicester (5f, soft) five weeks ago; has left Alice Haynes. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/1 -157%) Make Clear |
9/1(-157%) | (6) Make Clear 9/1, Twice-raced filly. Fifth of 8 in minor event at Windsor (5.1f, good, 12/1) 16 days ago. Not discounted back on the AW having shaped fairly well when runner-up on debut at Chelmsford in May. May have needed her lesser run behind Starstriker on latest start; good place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (0.83/1 -24%) Starstriker |
0.83/1(-24%) | (8) Starstriker 0.83/1, Fair filly. Hooded, first run since leaving Wesley A. Ward when second of 8 in minor event (5/1) at Windsor (5.1f, good) on UK debut 16 days ago, running on. Will take the beating. Trained as 2yo in USA; beaten a nose in novice at Windsor (5f, good; hooded) 16 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 -133%) Megan Moon |
14/1(-133%) | (7) Megan Moon 14/1, 20/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. Possible that she'll be seen in a better light now returned to the AW, albeit this will be her first run on polytrack. Fair form on AW for Roger Varian; modest in her two runs (turf) for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (28/1 +15%) Poseidon Prince |
28/1(+15%) | (4) Poseidon Prince 28/1, Modest gelding. Eighth of 9 in handicap (50/1) at Nottingham (5f, good to soft) 15 days ago. Makes polytrack debut and likely to come up short once again. 2nd as 2yo for Charlie Appleby; one fair AW run was the best he's shown this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (100/1 +0%) Rhodium |
100/1(+0%) | (5) Rhodium 100/1, Twice-raced gelding. Last of 8 in minor event (66/1) at Southwell (5f). Off 16 months and readily passed over on debut for new yard. Finished last in two 5f novice events in April for John Gallagher; gelded since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (100/1 +0%) Kwiz |
100/1(+0%) | (3) Kwiz 100/1, Remains a maiden after 7 Flat runs. 80/1, last of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 15 days ago. Looks set for another struggle. Low-level form in all of his seven races, two of them C&D handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (100/1 +0%) Ank Marvin |
100/1(+0%) | (1) Ank Marvin 100/1, Twice-raced colt. 200/1, last of 6 in maiden at Kempton (5f). Off 18 months ahead of this debut for new yard and can only be watched at present. Failed to beat a rival in two 5f AW races two winters back for Frank Bishop. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Make Clear was easy to back despite her promising debut before coming home fifth at Windsor earlier this month, and she could do better back on the all-weather, while Alexi Boy showed some promise when sixth at Leicester. STARSTRIKER is preferred to them both after she returned with a nose second at Windsor when the front two were clear of the third. As that was her first run since May 2022, she is entitled to improve considerably.
US import STARSTRIKER went down narrowly on her recent British debut at Windsor and a mere reproduction of that should suffice here from the plum draw. It's fair to say that Alexi Boy failed to measure up to market expectations on his introduction for Alice Haynes at Leicester last month but he should be sharper now and may emerge as the main danger. Make Clear and Megan Moon can do battle for minor honours.
This looks a great opportunity for the former US-trained STARSTRIKER to get off the mark, having failed to do so at Windsor by a nose.

1st (9) (14/1 -180%) Coast |
14/1(-180%) | (9) Coast 14/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. 18/1, returned to form from out of the blue when second of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 12 days ago. Player if able to back that up. Good 2nd at Wolverhampton 12 days ago; dangerous if proving as effective here. |

2nd (6) (6.5/1 +54%) Agostino |
6.5/1(+54%) | (6) Agostino 6.5/1, Eighth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 18/1) 26 days ago. Yet to fire this season and others are preferred. Modest maiden but his best form has come on Polytrack; tricky draw but down in weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 +43%) Revolucion |
4/1(+43%) | (1) Revolucion 4/1, Good third at Chelmsford (6f) 24 days ago on his penultimate outing but unsurprisingly wasn't in the same form switched to turf at Newmarket 12 days ago. Return to AW is a positive but wide draw means others make greater appeal. Should be well up to winning a small race on AW but stall 12 tempers enthusiasm today. |

4th (4) (5/1 -43%) Bluebells Boy |
5/1(-43%) | (4) Bluebells Boy 5/1, Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Yarmouth (7f, good to firm) 20 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Good second at Wolverhampton on previous outing and he's not ruled out back on an artificial surface. Of interest on his best efforts and the return to 6f won't hurt; one for the shortlist. |

5th (11) (80/1 -567%) Perfect Symphony |
80/1(-567%) | (11) Perfect Symphony 80/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in April. 33/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good) 19 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. 5f winner here in April; off the boil more recently and others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (14/1 +0%) Nordic Glory |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Nordic Glory 14/1, C&D winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2022. Pulled far too hard when last of 7 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, good to firm, 12/1) 18 days ago. Has slipped to handy mark but others have more solid recent form. Conditions to suit but he needs to step up markedly on his recent return to action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (9/1 -29%) Big Time Maybe |
9/1(-29%) | (5) Big Time Maybe 9/1, Course winner. Latest win at Brighton in May. 33/1, respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 6 days ago. Frame claims. Two wins in May and he's held his form since; should make another bold bid from the front. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (18/1 -80%) Sir Sedric |
18/1(-80%) | (10) Sir Sedric 18/1, One win from 28 Flat runs. One of better recent efforts when fourth of 9 in handicap (33/1) at this course (7f, AW) 15 days ago. Others make more appeal with blinkers back on. Has the ability to go well but finishing effort doesn't always match the way he travels. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (1.5/1 +55%) Oriental Spirit |
1.5/1(+55%) | (2) Oriental Spirit 1.5/1, Wasted no time getting back to form when third of 12 in handicap at Bath (5.7f, good) 21 days ago, nearest finish. Expected to be bang there with return to AW certain to suit. Capable at this level; O Murphy a positive booking; needs luck but shortlist material. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (66/1 -230%) Grainne O Maille |
66/1(-230%) | (3) Grainne O Maille 66/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fourth of 6 in minor event (250/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 15 days ago. Back down in trip. Hood on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Work to do off this mark. Hint of ability in novice/maiden runs; likely improver dropped in trip and hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (40/1 -186%) Real Estate |
40/1(-186%) | (8) Real Estate 40/1, 3-time C&D winner. 11/1, last of 12 in handicap at this C&D (AW). Off 152 days. Interesting if returning in peak form but has sizeable absence to overcome, so others are preferred. Conditions to suit but returning from five months off; likely there will be other days. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (100/1 -150%) Sajwaan |
100/1(-150%) | (12) Sajwaan 100/1, Modest maiden handicapper hasn't beaten in a rival in any of his last 3 outings. Plenty to prove. Effective over C&D but his three runs this summer have been uninspiring. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
With a distinct lack of recent winning form this looks a wide-open contest that may fall the way of COAST, who was only beaten a neck off 2lb lower at Wolverhampton last time. She could make amends for that now, though Bluebells Boy looks a serious rival. The booking of Jason Watson catches the eye as does the return to six furlongs. Grainne O Maille intrigues ahead of her handicap debut with a first-time hood added.
ORIENTAL SPIRIT is one to keep an eye on from this sort of mark and shaped with plenty of encouragement at Bath last time, so is taken to notch his first win of the season. Bluebells Boy arrives after a couple of decent efforts and is also respected, whilst Coast bounced back to form last time and remains well treated if able to build on that.
