1st (6) (5/2 +25%) Pfingstberg |
5/2(+25%) | (6) Pfingstberg 5/2, Modest maiden who is shaping up well, coming from further back than ideal when third of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 16 days ago. Remains one to be interested in. Maiden who has proved largely consistent in handicaps; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (15/2 -173%) Taxiing |
15/2(-173%) | (5) Taxiing 15/2, Ran at least as well as when winning the time before when fourth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (16f) 16 days ago, despite missing the break. Ties in with Pfingstberg on latest Chelmsford AW effort; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (14/1 -75%) Anisoptera |
14/1(-75%) | (1) Anisoptera 14/1, 9/1, offered little on her return to turf when last of 7 in handicap at Ascot (16f, good) 29 days ago. Return to Lingfield looks a plus; recorded her best turf efforts here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/1 +0%) Arabescato |
16/1(+0%) | (4) Arabescato 16/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. Seventh of 10 in handicap hurdle (17/2) at Bangor (19.6f, good) 21 days ago. Rejoined yard after leaving Olly Murphy. Poor on last Flat outing. On a long losing spell and form has deteriorated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (33/1 -1550%) Beggarman |
33/1(-1550%) | (2) Beggarman 33/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in April and backed it up with an excellent second of 12 in handicap at Yarmouth (14.1f, soft) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and has obvious claims. In good form this term; went very close at Yarmouth last time; fighting chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (66/1 -164%) Henry The Fifth |
66/1(-164%) | (7) Henry The Fifth 66/1, One win from 29 Flat run and finished last of 10 in handicap (16/1) at Chelmsford City (14f) 37 days ago. Visor on for 1st time. Two years since sole win; form dipped last time; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (450/1 -6823%) Smokey Malone |
450/1(-6823%) | (3) Smokey Malone 450/1, Course winner who ran creditably back on turf when fifth of 12 in handicap at Yarmouth (14.1f, soft) 17 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Should go well again. Attractively treated on best form; second off 2lb higher in this race last year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Beggarman arrives here in good form after a close second at Yarmouth last time and he looks sure to go well once again. However, TAXIING wasn't beaten far over this trip at Chelmsford last time and if she can translate that form back onto turf, then she can go well with the experienced Neil Callan in the saddle for the first time. Pfingstberg finished just ahead of Taxiing that day and he's another who shouldn't be too far away.
PFINGSTBERG has been shaping like a winner in waiting for a while now and, having again been caught further back than ideal at Chelmsford on his most recent outing, he remains one to be interested in. Beggarman and Smokey Malone are considered the main threats.
Being in good form and still favourably handicapped, BEGGARMAN holds strong claims. Smokey Malone is second choice.

1st (2) (4/11 -177%) Grey Charger |
4/11(-177%) | (2) Grey Charger 4/11, Debut winner who shaped well when second of 3 in minor event at Goodwood (8f, heavy, 7/2) 36 days ago. Will go on improving now upped in trip and ought to prove hard to beat. Solid second, behind the subsequent German 2,000 Guineas winner, on latest outing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (11/1 +67%) Salik |
11/1(+67%) | (4) Salik 11/1, Made some appeal on paper but ran to only a modest level when eighth of 16 in minor event at Chelmsford City (8f) on debut 16 days ago. Up in trip. Open to improvement upped in trip with Chelmsford effort under his belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/1 +20%) Edna E Mode |
6/1(+20%) | (6) Edna E Mode 6/1, Showed plenty to work on when fourth of 7 in minor event at Kempton (12f) on debut 31 days ago, faring best of those held up. Should progress. Out of an Italian Oaks winner for her owner; should improve on Kempton effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (12/1 +0%) Bayadere |
12/1(+0%) | (5) Bayadere 12/1, €20,000 yearling, resold £55,000 yearling, Awtaad filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 1m winners Mosakhar and Akdaar. Dam unraced sister to Prix Morny winner Arcano. Interesting newcomer. Awtaad half-sister to two winners; sole newcomer in the field; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (80/1 -21%) Spitfire Bridge |
80/1(-21%) | (1) Spitfire Bridge 80/1, Is decidedly limited so easily passed over back in this code. Disappointing favourite over hurdles last time; modest claims back on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (250/1 -658%) Dancing Highlander |
250/1(-658%) | (3) Dancing Highlander 250/1, Not badly bred but was beaten a long way out when last of 6 in minor event at Southwell (12.1f) on debut 40 days ago. Visored for 1st time. Tailed off at Southwell; fitting of visor needs to make a big difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although he's carrying a winners' penalty, GREY CHARGER is very difficult to oppose here after his close second to the very smart Devil's Point last time, and a repeat of that effort should suffice in this company. None of those with previous form look good enough to put it up to William Haggas' colt, so the newcomer Bayadere rates as the main danger, but Edna E Mode left something to work on when fourth on her debut at Kempton last month, so she could go well if building on that effort.
GREY CHARGER progressed significantly from his debut when second to a subsequent Group 2 winner at Goodwood last month and should take all the beating with further improvement to come now stepping up in trip. Edna E Mode fared best of those held up on last month's debut at Kempton and is preferred to newcomer Bayadere for forecast purposes.
Having performed well behind a smart rival last time, GREY CHARGER sets a clear standard. Edna E Mode is second choice.

2/1(-14%) | (1) Arctic Mountain 2/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Redcar (8f, good, 8/1) 19 days ago, sticking to task. Will be suited by a return to this trip and has solid claims. Placed all starts; second over 1m at Redcar latest; return to 1m2f a help; should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (66/1 -1220%) Charlie's Choice |
66/1(-1220%) | (7) Charlie's Choice 66/1, 2 wins from 3 runs this year. 2/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) on most recent outing, leaving the impression he'd have benefited from a stronger gallop. Needs considering back from a break. Two AW wins in Jan; possibly stretched by 1m4f latest; off 119 days; first turf handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (150/1 -3233%) Morcar |
150/1(-3233%) | (6) Morcar 150/1, Shaped like a non-stayer when sixth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW, 4/1) 7 days ago. Blinkers on for 1st time and type to bounce back returned to a shorter trip. Failed to stay 1m4f on AW here latest; blinkers added back at 1m2f; on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (80/1 -1233%) Fast Steps |
80/1(-1233%) | (3) Fast Steps 80/1, Turned in another creditable effort when sixth of 11 in handicap (13/2) at Windsor (10f, good to firm) 14 days ago. In decent form at Windsor this spring; ought to be competitive again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (350/1 -3789%) New Heights |
350/1(-3789%) | (2) New Heights 350/1, Signed off last season with a brace of wins at Epsom and ran creditably after 8 months off when fourth of 7 in handicap at Brighton (9.9f, good, 28/1) 39 days ago. Ended 2023 with 2 Epsom wins; fair fourth on return but shows she needs more from her mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (300/1 -4515%) Oj Lifestyle |
300/1(-4515%) | (5) Oj Lifestyle 300/1, Stepped up on reappearance run when creditable eighth of 13 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm, 11/1) 19 days ago. Merits consideration. Falling in weights without obviously shaping as if likely to take advantage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (450/1 -3650%) Moab |
450/1(-3650%) | (8) Moab 450/1, 50/1, matched previous form on first run since leaving Joseph Patrick O'Brien when fourth of 9 in maiden at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 18 days ago. Makes handicap debut. More required. Reached frame in all three maidens; brings unexposed potential to handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although still a maiden, ARCTIC MOUNTAIN has shown a decent level of form in defeat on his five starts to date and this looks an excellent opportunity for this son of Nathaniel to get off the mark at the sixth time of asking. The handicapper has taken no chances with Moab's opening mark but he should do better now tackling handicaps for the first time, while Morcar is back down to his last winning mark and he could go close with the talented Alec Voikhansky taking off a valuable 3lb.
ARCTIC MOUNTAIN boxed on once headed in the style of one who'll be suited by a return to this trip at Redcar 19 days ago, so he's an appealing candidate, especially given his low-mileage profile. Morcar is the type to bounce back quickly returned to a more suitable distance, with Charlie's Choice completing the shortlist.
Richard Hannon's MORCAR is back on a good mark and is worth chancing in the hope that first-time blinkers give him a lift.

3/1(-60%) | (4) Formidable Force 3/1, Ran respectably when fourth of 13 in minor event (4/1) at Kempton (7f) 52 days ago. Into handicaps now and likely to come on for the run. Shapes as if this drop to sprinting will suit on handicap debut; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +67%) Labalaba |
3/1(+67%) | (1) Labalaba 3/1, Lightly-raced winner who proved too free in a first-time hood and tongue strap when last of 8 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 38 days ago, hampered. Back down in trip. Return to this trip/sphere looks a plus with Kempton reappearance under his belt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 -25%) Western |
15/2(-25%) | (2) Western 15/2, 11/1 and blinkered for 1st time, went backwards from reappearance when ninth of 12 in handicap at Ascot (6f, good) 29 days ago. Record is 0-8 but he's competitively weighted on several efforts; drops in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (7/2 +22%) Kiss And Run |
7/2(+22%) | (8) Kiss And Run 7/2, Took a step forward when second of 7 in handicap at Goodwood (5f, good to firm) 14 days ago, clear of rest. Has to be taken seriously. Form figures of 222 this season, clear second last time; solid claims up just 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (80/1 -2302%) Chiedozie |
80/1(-2302%) | (7) Chiedozie 80/1, Fair maiden who again ran creditably when fourth of 8 in handicap at Windsor (6f, good to soft, 5/1) 40 days ago. Can give another good account. Consistent in 6f handicaps this term; return to faster turf looks ideal; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (150/1 -650%) Flag Carrier |
150/1(-650%) | (6) Flag Carrier 150/1, Winner at Kempton in January. 14/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 11 days ago, never nearer. Substandard form for current yard and has something to prove back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (100/1 -400%) Spirited Lad |
100/1(-400%) | (9) Spirited Lad 100/1, Lightly-raced maiden who ran poorly making handicap debut when tenth in 12-runner event at Ascot (6f, good) 29 days ago. Failed to transfer his AW promise to turf last month; something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (350/1 -1650%) World Of Darcy |
350/1(-1650%) | (3) World Of Darcy 350/1, 80/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good) 35 days ago. Blinkered for 1st time. Placed in Listed grade at two; has regressed sharply in handicaps this year. |

150/1(-1150%) | (5) Kinnigoli Kid 150/1, 12/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, fifth of 6 in handicap at Lingfield (6f, AW) 61 days ago. Enough to prove. Has failed to build on debut win but this drop back to Class 5 may suit. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FORMIDABLE FORCE has shown plenty of speed in his three races to date and this step back in trip looks a good move for his handicap debut, so he rates as the one to side with in what looks a fascinating contest. Kiss And Run has filled the runner-up spot on her last three starts and while a 2lb rise makes life more difficult, she should be on the premises once again. Chiedozie is another who has been knocking on the door of late and with a talented 7lb claimer taking over, he's weighted to go well if putting his best foot forward.
KISS AND RUN took a step forward when edged out only close home at Goodwood 2 weeks ago and still looks well treated following a 2 lb rise in the weights, so she's the percentage call to go one better. Handicap-debutant Formidable Force and the consistent Chiedozie head up the opposition.
Handicap debutant FORMIDABLE FORCE can live up to his name. Chiedozie is second choice.

1st (2) (11/10 -10%) Harvard Sound |
11/10(-10%) | (2) Harvard Sound 11/10, Ten Sovereigns gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 9f/1¼m winner Sacramento and 7f winner Harry Magnus. Produced a promising first effort when runner-up at Kempton (7f) 17 days ago and is open to improvement. Close second, despite wide trip, in Kempton novice event; holds leading claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (80/1 -3100%) Dimsons |
80/1(-3100%) | (1) Dimsons 80/1, Ran up to his best when second of 12 in minor event (15/2) at Kempton (7f) 17 days ago, having run of race. Should be competitive once again. 0-4; close second at Kempton most recently; one of the main form contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (66/1 -2300%) Ureshii |
66/1(-2300%) | (3) Ureshii 66/1, Improved on debut form following a breathing operation/8 months off when third of 18 in minor event at Doncaster (6f, firm, 6/1) 21 days ago. Should progress further over this 1f longer trip. Placed in big field at Doncaster on reappearance; clear possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (400/1 -1112%) Explosively |
400/1(-1112%) | (4) Explosively 400/1, Ran to only a modest level when eighth of 12 in minor event (66/1) at Southwell (7.1f) on debut, slowly away. Off 6 months. Visor on for 1st time. No impact at Southwell on sole 2yo start; now visored. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (125/1 -525%) Kinematica |
125/1(-525%) | (5) Kinematica 125/1, Went backwards from an encouraging debut when sixth of 7 in maiden at Chelmsford City (8f) 30 days ago. Needs improvement and may be more interesting when qualified for a mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Dimsons returned to action with good effort at Kempton last month when attempting to make all. He was beaten only a neck on that occasion, but HARVARD SOUND also went close at the same Kempton fixture on his racecourse debut. Tom Clover's charge found only the unbeaten Bengurion too good and normal progress could see him get off the mark in this contest. Ureshii placed over 6f at Doncaster on his first start after a wind operation and this extra distance should suit.
HARVARD SOUND and Ureshii easily make most appeal. The former produced a promising first effort when runner-up to a previous winner at Kempton on his recent debut, doing well having made his challenge from further back than that one in a modestly-run race, so he's taken to go one better.
The Tom Clover-trained HARVARD SOUND is taken to build on his debut effort and go one better. Dimsons is second choice.

Dropped 1 lb and has good chance on pick of form. Signs of a return to form in first-time blinkers on latest AW start. |

1st (10) (22/1 -83%) One Hart |
22/1(-83%) | (10) One Hart 22/1, Nineteen runs since last win in 2023. 25/1, again ran poorly when ninth of 10 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good) 22 days ago. Blinkers back on. Others more persuasive. Several respectable efforts this year; form dipped the last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (6/4 +73%) Lady Wingalong |
6/4(+73%) | (9) Lady Wingalong 6/4, Winner here in April. 2/1, wasn't quite in the same form when fourth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 6 weeks ago, doing too much too soon. Has a first start on turf for this yard. Ex-Irish mare; respectable AW form in two runs for new yard; not dismissed. |

Back up in trip. Can give another good account. Sole win came off this mark over C&D two years ago; consistent in 2024; solid chance. |

6th (2) (28/1 -250%) Fayasel |
28/1(-250%) | (2) Fayasel 28/1, 17/2 and visored for 1st time, wasted no time getting back on track despite having been drawn widest when third of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW) 11 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Creditable third in 7f AW contest here last week; place possibilities. |

7th (8) (125/1 -3025%) Swiss Pride |
125/1(-3025%) | (8) Swiss Pride 125/1, 18/5, took advantage of a slipping mark when won 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) a couple of months ago, suited by emphasis on speed. Makes a rare turf start these days but certainly not discounted from this much lower mark. Multiple AW winner at this venue; defied a 9lb higher mark when last seen. |

Significantly back down in trip. Holds weak form claims; betting may prove best guide on second handicap start. |

9th (12) (350/1 -3400%) Arlo's Sunshine |
350/1(-3400%) | (12) Arlo's Sunshine 350/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Ran poorly when eighth of 11 in handicap (4/1) at Brighton (8f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Had been in good form prior, so can bounce back. 0-12 for current stable but was placed twice at Brighton in April. |

Market can guide expectations making his first start on these shores (this just his new trainer's fourth runner). 0-14 in Hong Kong; best watched on British debut unless the market speaks positively. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (100/1 -2757%) Heerathetrack |
100/1(-2757%) | (6) Heerathetrack 100/1, Creditable second of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 3/1) 16 days ago. Not taken lightly from the same mark. Tough and consistent on AW this year; runner-up off this mark at Chelmsford latest. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Those with the best recent form have yet to win on turf. That includes Swiss Pride, who scored over a mile on the Polytrack in April, while Heerathetrack finished runner-up at Chelmsford last time. FAYASEL placed over today's distance on the all-weather track here when fitted with a visor for the first time. The headgear remains in place and he gets the vote in an open affair.
An unusually huge field for the track with plenty in with a squeak but the verdict goes to FRANKFREYA, who had blinkers/a tongue tie on for the first time and returned to form from out of the blue when fourth at Wolverhampton last month. The main danger may emerge from Heerathetrack, who has been going through a good spell on the all-weather recently, with Revolutionary Man and Swiss Pride another couple worth considering.
The two suggestions against the field are ESSME and Spanish Mane, with this return to Lingfield a positive factor for both of them.

8th (8) (125/1 -525%) Invincible Navy |
125/1(-525%) | (8) Invincible Navy 125/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, bit below form fifth of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Salisbury (7f, good) 14 days ago. Others preferred, Modest RPRs for new stable this year; needs to improve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
MONKS MEAD was winning on fast ground here last summer, and a recent second at Bath points to a big run in this. Mark Usher's grey finished in front of Mbappe at Bath, while Mister Mojito has an 8lb rise to contend with having won nicely at Yarmouth in April. Just Rita remains a maiden, but Palazzo Persico has won twice on the all-weather and it would be no surprise to see a better effort from him.
MISTER MOJITO forged clear to score at Yarmouth last time and gets the nod in his bid to follow up. Monks Mead ran well at Bath last time and is respected again with an inexperienced claimer retaining the ride, whilst Mbappe wasn't too much further behind in that Bath contest and merits consideration again.
Yarmouth winner MISTER MOJITO (nap) is taken to show further improvement and defy an 8lb rise. Just Rita is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.
