(7) Shazam 7.5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, first run since leaving Ralph Beckett when last of 7 in minor event at Southwell (8.1f) 54 days ago. Up in trip and worth a second look in the betting now handicapping.
Out with the washing on yard debut at 1m; bred to be suited by 1m2f; handicap debut.

(5) Denis Anthony 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good) 14 days ago, finishing with running left. Down 3 lb and he's not without each-way hope.
Should have more to offer in handicaps; perhaps slow ground has held him back this year.

(6) Kamanika 2.75/1, Winner at Nottingham in April. Fourth of 5 in handicap (2/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) 18 days ago. No obvious excuses for that rather disappointing display but she's a player judged on success at the same course last month.
Last 3 turf runs on soft/heavy, winning over 1m2f in April; lesser effort since.

(2) Royal Dream 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, good fourth of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 19 days ago, never nearer. Looks ready for this new trip and he's very much of interest.
Kept on at one pace to take 4th on handicap debut (1m); can improve for step up in trip.

(9) Lady Bryanston 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in minor event (80/1) at Kempton (7f) on final 2-y-o start, inadequate test. This step up in trip promises to suit now that she goes down the handicap route but a sizeable step forward is needed.
Lacks a run but dam suited by 1m2f on fast ground; possible improver now handicapping.

Slow start to handicap career in April (1m); blinkers quickly fitted and up in trip.

Smooth Ryder

18
18/1(-157%)
(8) Smooth Ryder 18/1, Last of 6 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, soft, 10/1) 35 days ago. Made the frame all 5 starts on the AW this year prior to that, including over this trip on polytrack here in March, and it's too early to assume that he's not effective on turf.
Weighted to find a race on 1m2f AW form this year; best forgiven soft-ground defeat since.
11
9th (11) Ectocross (9/1 -80%)
Ectocross

9
9/1(-80%)
(11) Ectocross 9/1, Winner here in March. Eighth of 12 in handicap (7/2) at Salisbury (9.9f, good to soft) 26 days ago. The handicapper has quickly relented, now 2 lb lower than when narrowly seeing off Smooth Ryder and Corporate Raider over C&D in March, so unwise to rule him out.
Well backed for winning handicap debut (1m2f AW here); lesser runs on slow turf since.

(3) Deshi Girl 25/1, Thirteenth of 14 in maiden (20/1) at Meydan (7f, good). Off 100 days and significantly up in trip on debut for new yard/handicap now. Probably best watched on this occasion.
Very modest form in latest 3 runs at Meydan; one to watch for new yard.

(10) Corporate Raider 25/1, Ninth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 16/1) 19 days ago. Possibilities if able to reproduce the form of his effort on the AW here in March when a close third behind Ectocross and Smooth Ryder.
Staying-on close 3rd over 1m2f on AW here on return; much less good in two runs since.
LTO Selection:

17:40 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

The unexposed ROYAL DREAM seemed to benefit from an extra furlong when keeping on for fourth over a mile at Southwell on his seasonal reappearance last time out. The gelded son of Muhaarar retains the mark from that outing and there could be more in his locker up in trip. Ectocross is now rated 1lb above his last winning all-weather mark and would be foolish to ignore, while Kamanika also warrants a market check on her return to polytrack.

ROYAL DREAM stepped up on his 2-y-o exploits when a never-nearer fourth in a 1m Southwell handicap on his return in a first-time tongue strap (retained) earlier this month. This step up in trip promises to prompt further improvement and he gets the nod ahead of Kamanika, who will be a threat if able to bounce back from a below-par effort last time. Smooth Ryder has failed to fire both previous starts on turf but he faces fast ground for the first time here and merits respect.

Afloat was out of luck on her handicap debut but still looks the main threat to ROYAL DREAM who seems sure to appreciate 1m2f.

LTO Selection:

18:10 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This represents a drop in class for Golden Mayflower and Amy Murphy's four-year-old must hold every chance of bouncing back from her most recent outing at this track. However, CAVALLUCCIO has been fairly consistent of late and makes a return to the all-weather following a pleasing second at Yarmouth last time out. He is rated 4lb above his last winning mark and looks capable of being in the mix based on his most recent efforts. Glory Nights is another to consider on his handicap bow.

CAVALLUCCIO arrives at the top of his game and can quickly resume winning ways after his excellent Yarmouth second only six days ago. Richard P Smith hinted at a revival when third at Windsor and can emerge as the chief threat in a first-time visor. Veteran Balgair appeals as the pick of the remainder for minor honours now he steps back up in trip.

Without an improving rival CAVALLUCCIO (nap) would have been an impressive winner last week and he should go very well off the same mark

LTO Selection:

18:40 Lingfield Stakes (Class 5) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

CHRISZOFF has to shoulder a 7lb penalty following his win over an extended mile at Wolverhampton last month, but the son of Zoffany seems capable of following up on this occasion. Beggarmans Road was a beaten odds-on favourite when a disappointing second at Newcastle in December but is another of interest off a break, while Hill Filly completes the shortlist.

CHRISZOFF did the job well at Wolverhampton, despite still looking like a work in progress, and he is hard to oppose here with further improvement anticipated. Hill Filly showed ability on debut in a backend Nottingham maiden at 2 yrs and she is preferred to newcomer Quietness for forecast purposes.

Hill Filly is better than she was able to show on her sole 2yo start but CHRISZOFF looks to have been found a golden opportunity.

LTO Selection:

19:10 Lingfield Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The Godolphin-owned CINDERELLA'S DREAM is an interesting option for a yard that is yet to really test the water with their juveniles this season. This daughter of Shamardal is out of a winning miler/1m2f winner on the all-weather and ticks the right boxes for an immediate impact at this level. Shadan Joy also has a likeable pedigree and is another noteworthy debutant, while 105,000gns purchase, Sweet Run, also warrants a second look.

The newcomers could hold sway here with Charlie Appleby's well-related Shamardal filly CINDERELLA'S DREAM fancied to come out on top over fellow debutantes Shadan Joy and Sweet Run, who both need a market check. Moreginplease appeals most of those with experience.

This looks best left to the newcomers CINDERELLA'S DREAM and Shadan Joy with the market likely to offer some clues.

LTO Selection:

19:40 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Triggered is going through a renaissance period and is taken seriously after winning three of his last four starts in a pleasing manner. He turns out under a 4lb penalty for a relatively comfortable success at Wolverhampton on Thursday and another bold attempt is likely. However, NUBOUGH is 12lb better off at the weights from a C&D encounter earlier in the month and has a solid chance of turning the form around on these terms. King Cabo and Wizarding are others for consideration.

TRIGGERED made it three wins from his last four starts at Wolverhampton on Thursday, so this course winner is taken to defy a 4 lb penalty and bag another victory at the chief expense of the handily-weighted Wizarding who returns from a break with solid claims. In-form pair Revolutionary Man and Ajrad need considering too in a competitive handicap.

Triggered is respected on his recent AW form but REVOLUTIONARY MAN is also going well and only just failed on turf last week.

(4) Royal Bliss 22/1, 4/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (7f), going off too hard. Off 104 days and she looks vulnerable for win purposes.
Weakened over 7f in February; possibilities on luckless 6f AW handicap debut previously.

(1) Nogo's Dream 3.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. Successful at Wolverhampton in March. 13/8, good second of 6 in handicap at Ascot (6f, soft) 18 days ago, not running on. Blinkers on 1st time and he's a key player.
Already shown useful handicap form at 7f and 6f; first-time headgear an unknown.
LTO Selection:

20:10 Lingfield Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

NOGO'S DREAM hit the woodwork at Ascot 18 days ago, where he hung in the closing stages. Connections reach for first-time blinkers and if they can help sharpen him up, he might be able to go one better. Ascari makes his handicap debut from a potentially workable mark and must be considered, while Royal Bliss, who showed promise in France at the back end of last year, could also have a say.

NOGO'S DREAM doesn't appear to be the most straightforward of conveyances but the addition of blinkers may well help in that respect, and he looks the one to beat having made the frame in higher-grade handicaps at Newmarket and Ascot the last twice. With his reappearance run under his belt, Overnight Oats could be the one to follow the selection home, though handicap debutant Ascari will be a threat if coping with conditions. Raven's Up is also shortlisted.

Nogo's Dream should go well if first-time blinkers help but ASCARI may well improve for the drop to 6f on his handicap debut.

Acts well on good to firm; below best since January, including back on turf on Friday.

LTO Selection:

20:45 Lingfield Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Agapanther (fifth) paid the price for contesting a hot pace with Raphel Jake (sixth) at Kempton earlier this month and those tactics might set up it for a closer once again. With that in mind, preference is for YIMOU, who found only a well treated rival too strong at Southwell last time. First Company doesn't have the best strike-rate, but he often runs well in defeat and is likely to be on the premises under the talented Billy Loughnane.

The vote goes to AGAPANTHER, who was runner-up off just a 1 lb lower mark over this C&D last summer and did the job well when making a winning reappearance at Kempton. It's possible that the race came too soon when below par at the same course next time. Yimou is feared most, ahead of First Company.

First Company is respected but perhaps this is the day that YIMOU ends a losing run as this fast ground is what he likes best.
