1st (7) (7.5/1 +70%) Shazam |
7.5/1(+70%) | (7) Shazam 7.5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 33/1, first run since leaving Ralph Beckett when last of 7 in minor event at Southwell (8.1f) 54 days ago. Up in trip and worth a second look in the betting now handicapping. Out with the washing on yard debut at 1m; bred to be suited by 1m2f; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +57%) Denis Anthony |
3/1(+57%) | (5) Denis Anthony 3/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good) 14 days ago, finishing with running left. Down 3 lb and he's not without each-way hope. Should have more to offer in handicaps; perhaps slow ground has held him back this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (2.75/1 -10%) Kamanika |
2.75/1(-10%) | (6) Kamanika 2.75/1, Winner at Nottingham in April. Fourth of 5 in handicap (2/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) 18 days ago. No obvious excuses for that rather disappointing display but she's a player judged on success at the same course last month. Last 3 turf runs on soft/heavy, winning over 1m2f in April; lesser effort since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (8.5/1 +61%) Afloat |
8.5/1(+61%) | (4) Afloat 8.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 4/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 26 days ago, not ideally placed. Needs to raise her game. Hampered on 1m2f handicap debut on AW (4-1); first turf run; remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 -33%) Royal Dream |
6/1(-33%) | (2) Royal Dream 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Tongue strap on for 1st time, good fourth of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Southwell (8.1f) 19 days ago, never nearer. Looks ready for this new trip and he's very much of interest. Kept on at one pace to take 4th on handicap debut (1m); can improve for step up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (16/1 -33%) Lady Bryanston |
16/1(-33%) | (9) Lady Bryanston 16/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 10 in minor event (80/1) at Kempton (7f) on final 2-y-o start, inadequate test. This step up in trip promises to suit now that she goes down the handicap route but a sizeable step forward is needed. Lacks a run but dam suited by 1m2f on fast ground; possible improver now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (33/1 +18%) Lady Clemmie |
33/1(+18%) | (12) Lady Clemmie 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Ninth of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Yarmouth (8f, heavy) 45 days ago, slowly away. Up in trip and blinkers on 1st time. Readily passed over. Slow start to handicap career in April (1m); blinkers quickly fitted and up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (18/1 -157%) Smooth Ryder |
18/1(-157%) | (8) Smooth Ryder 18/1, Last of 6 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, soft, 10/1) 35 days ago. Made the frame all 5 starts on the AW this year prior to that, including over this trip on polytrack here in March, and it's too early to assume that he's not effective on turf. Weighted to find a race on 1m2f AW form this year; best forgiven soft-ground defeat since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (9/1 -80%) Ectocross |
9/1(-80%) | (11) Ectocross 9/1, Winner here in March. Eighth of 12 in handicap (7/2) at Salisbury (9.9f, good to soft) 26 days ago. The handicapper has quickly relented, now 2 lb lower than when narrowly seeing off Smooth Ryder and Corporate Raider over C&D in March, so unwise to rule him out. Well backed for winning handicap debut (1m2f AW here); lesser runs on slow turf since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (20/1 +33%) Bear Force |
20/1(+33%) | (1) Bear Force 20/1, 33/1, seventh of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW) 26 days ago. Up in trip and it's probably best to look elsewhere. Improved with racing as 2yo; not found form yet this year; now tackles new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (25/1 +0%) Deshi Girl |
25/1(+0%) | (3) Deshi Girl 25/1, Thirteenth of 14 in maiden (20/1) at Meydan (7f, good). Off 100 days and significantly up in trip on debut for new yard/handicap now. Probably best watched on this occasion. Very modest form in latest 3 runs at Meydan; one to watch for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (25/1 +0%) Corporate Raider |
25/1(+0%) | (10) Corporate Raider 25/1, Ninth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 16/1) 19 days ago. Possibilities if able to reproduce the form of his effort on the AW here in March when a close third behind Ectocross and Smooth Ryder. Staying-on close 3rd over 1m2f on AW here on return; much less good in two runs since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The unexposed ROYAL DREAM seemed to benefit from an extra furlong when keeping on for fourth over a mile at Southwell on his seasonal reappearance last time out. The gelded son of Muhaarar retains the mark from that outing and there could be more in his locker up in trip. Ectocross is now rated 1lb above his last winning all-weather mark and would be foolish to ignore, while Kamanika also warrants a market check on her return to polytrack.
ROYAL DREAM stepped up on his 2-y-o exploits when a never-nearer fourth in a 1m Southwell handicap on his return in a first-time tongue strap (retained) earlier this month. This step up in trip promises to prompt further improvement and he gets the nod ahead of Kamanika, who will be a threat if able to bounce back from a below-par effort last time. Smooth Ryder has failed to fire both previous starts on turf but he faces fast ground for the first time here and merits respect.
Afloat was out of luck on her handicap debut but still looks the main threat to ROYAL DREAM who seems sure to appreciate 1m2f.

1st (4) (5.5/1 -22%) Richard P Smith |
5.5/1(-22%) | (4) Richard P Smith 5.5/1, Creditable third of 9 in handicap at Windsor (10f, heavy, 14/1) 15 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Stepping back in the right direction so needs considering. Handles all ground; steady progress in 2022 but still 5lb higher than the latest win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4.5/1 -13%) Eklil |
4.5/1(-13%) | (5) Eklil 4.5/1, 18/1, ninth of 11 in handicap at Newmarket (12f, good to soft). Off 7 months with work to do. Just above latest winning mark last June but off since October and this may be needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/1 -9%) Balgair |
6/1(-9%) | (3) Balgair 6/1, 18/1, creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 33 days ago. Back up in trip. Can give a good account. Acts well on good to firm and weighted to go well with J Doyle up for the first time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (0.91/1 +52%) Cavalluccio |
0.91/1(+52%) | (6) Cavalluccio 0.91/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in April. Excellent second of 10 in handicap (9/2) at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to firm) 6 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Both wins on AW but useful effort in defeat over 1m2f last week; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (8/1 -14%) Golden Mayflower |
8/1(-14%) | (1) Golden Mayflower 8/1, Twelfth of 14 in handicap (10/1) at Lingfield (7f, AW) 53 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Others more persuasive. Turn looked to be coming round again on AW in early 2023; lesser runs since; trip query. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (80/1 -142%) Azamhan |
80/1(-142%) | (7) Azamhan 80/1, Fair ex-French 10f winner. First run for new yard when last of 18 in handicap at Newbury (12f, good) on UK debut 11 days ago, slowly away. Won at 1m2f in France last May (good to soft); soundly beaten on yard debut 11 days ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
This represents a drop in class for Golden Mayflower and Amy Murphy's four-year-old must hold every chance of bouncing back from her most recent outing at this track. However, CAVALLUCCIO has been fairly consistent of late and makes a return to the all-weather following a pleasing second at Yarmouth last time out. He is rated 4lb above his last winning mark and looks capable of being in the mix based on his most recent efforts. Glory Nights is another to consider on his handicap bow.
CAVALLUCCIO arrives at the top of his game and can quickly resume winning ways after his excellent Yarmouth second only six days ago. Richard P Smith hinted at a revival when third at Windsor and can emerge as the chief threat in a first-time visor. Veteran Balgair appeals as the pick of the remainder for minor honours now he steps back up in trip.
Without an improving rival CAVALLUCCIO (nap) would have been an impressive winner last week and he should go very well off the same mark

1st (3) (0.44/1 -10%) Chriszoff |
0.44/1(-10%) | (3) Chriszoff 0.44/1, Promising individual. Won 11-runner minor event at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 5/2) 27 days ago, always holding on. Probably capable of better still and he's clearly the one to beat. Stepped up on promising debut to make all in good style over about 1m on AW; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (16/1 +0%) Quietness |
16/1(+0%) | (6) Quietness 16/1, 25,000 gns yearling, Bated Breath filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 2-y-o 1m winner Trusted Ally and 11f-1½m winner Quiet Zain. Interesting to see what the market has to say. 25,000gns yearling; pedigree to come into her own over further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3.5/1 +13%) Hill Filly |
3.5/1(+13%) | (5) Hill Filly 3.5/1, Once-raced maiden. 22/1 and hooded, eighth of 11 in maiden at Nottingham (8.3f, soft) on sole 2-y-o start, hampered. Can be expected to improve and she needs a second look. Hooded for debut when badly checked over 1m in October (soft;22-1); should improve as 3yo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (33/1 +67%) Rayena |
33/1(+67%) | (7) Rayena 33/1, Twice-raced maiden. Visored for 1st time tongue strap on for 1st time, seventh of 8 in maiden at Newmarket (10f, good, 150/1) 25 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Well held on 7f AW debut and over 1m2f at Newmarket; needs this for handicap mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +64%) Buxlow Boy |
10/1(+64%) | (4) Buxlow Boy 10/1, Once-raced maiden. Seventh of 9 in minor event at Goodwood (9f, good, 28/1) on debut, very slowly away. Off 7 months. Probably more one for handicaps further down the line. 28-1, ultimately well beaten in 1m1f Goodwood novice on debut in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 +34%) Who Loves You Baby |
66/1(+34%) | (8) Who Loves You Baby 66/1, Twice-raced maiden. 200/1, sixth of 8 in maiden at Newmarket (10f, good) 25 days ago. Hard to warm to. Huge prices, well adrift in Newmarket maidens; sights lowered; ordinary handicaps beckon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (18/1 +10%) Fravanco |
18/1(+10%) | (2) Fravanco 18/1, Twice-raced maiden on Flat. 25/1, fifth of 8 in maiden at Windsor (10f, heavy) 22 days ago. Others make more appeal. Big prices and minor form in two bumpers and 1m2f maidens; handicaps soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (40/1 -300%) Beggarmans Road |
40/1(-300%) | (1) Beggarmans Road 40/1, Twice-raced maiden. Second of 5 in minor event (4/9) at Newcastle (7.1f). Off 161 days. Up in trip on debut for new yard and he's in with an each-way shout. In the frame in two 7f AW novices for K Burke in December; handicaps more likely now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CHRISZOFF has to shoulder a 7lb penalty following his win over an extended mile at Wolverhampton last month, but the son of Zoffany seems capable of following up on this occasion. Beggarmans Road was a beaten odds-on favourite when a disappointing second at Newcastle in December but is another of interest off a break, while Hill Filly completes the shortlist.
CHRISZOFF did the job well at Wolverhampton, despite still looking like a work in progress, and he is hard to oppose here with further improvement anticipated. Hill Filly showed ability on debut in a backend Nottingham maiden at 2 yrs and she is preferred to newcomer Quietness for forecast purposes.
Hill Filly is better than she was able to show on her sole 2yo start but CHRISZOFF looks to have been found a golden opportunity.

1st (3) (0.8/1 -29%) Cinderella's Dream |
0.8/1(-29%) | (3) Cinderella's Dream 0.8/1, Foaled February 26. Shamardal filly. Dam, winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 1m winner), sister to useful 1m winner Pabouche out of very smart winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 1m winner) High Heeled. Hails from top yard and she's a most interesting newcomer. Will probably need further but is not highly tried on debut for top yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4.5/1 -35%) Shadan Joy |
4.5/1(-35%) | (5) Shadan Joy 4.5/1, Foaled May 1. €25,000 yearling, Kitten's Joy filly. Dam, useful French 9f-10.5f winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 9f Tamahere. This debutante can't be ruled out. May foal; may need further judged on useful pedigree but much more interesting than most. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (22/1 +56%) Barika |
22/1(+56%) | (2) Barika 22/1, 66/1, eighth of 9 in minor event at Kempton (5f) on debut 50 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. 66-1 and soon cried enough over 5f on Kempton AW debut; cheekpieces immediately fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/1 -22%) Moreginplease |
11/1(-22%) | (4) Moreginplease 11/1, Twice-raced filly, better effort when fading eighth of 10 in minor event (50/1) at Newmarket (6f, good) 10 days ago. Considered. Hinted at some ability in sprints at Newmarket; place chance in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (33/1 +0%) Adaay To Win |
33/1(+0%) | (1) Adaay To Win 33/1, Twice-raced filly. Last of 11 in maiden (28/1) at Bath (5.7f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Up in trip with more required. Both runs at about 5f, showing minor promise on debut; 7f should suit on pedigree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (3.33/1 +56%) Sweet Run |
3.33/1(+56%) | (6) Sweet Run 3.33/1, Foaled March 20. 105,000 gns yearling, Camacho filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 5f winner Dandy Alys and smart Scandinavian 1m-1½m winner Hard One To Please. Appeals on paper so she's worth a market check. 105,000gns yearling; worth a look on debut but yard 0-11 with juveniles on turf here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The Godolphin-owned CINDERELLA'S DREAM is an interesting option for a yard that is yet to really test the water with their juveniles this season. This daughter of Shamardal is out of a winning miler/1m2f winner on the all-weather and ticks the right boxes for an immediate impact at this level. Shadan Joy also has a likeable pedigree and is another noteworthy debutant, while 105,000gns purchase, Sweet Run, also warrants a second look.
The newcomers could hold sway here with Charlie Appleby's well-related Shamardal filly CINDERELLA'S DREAM fancied to come out on top over fellow debutantes Shadan Joy and Sweet Run, who both need a market check. Moreginplease appeals most of those with experience.
This looks best left to the newcomers CINDERELLA'S DREAM and Shadan Joy with the market likely to offer some clues.

1st (2) (5.5/1 +8%) King Cabo |
5.5/1(+8%) | (2) King Cabo 5.5/1, Good second of 8 in handicap (5/2) at Lingfield (8f, AW) 21 days ago, no match for winner. In the mix if backing it up. Best form at 1m and 7f on AW; needs to prove as good on turf but not badly treated now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (2.5/1 +9%) Revolutionary Man |
2.5/1(+9%) | (7) Revolutionary Man 2.5/1, Latest win here in May and backed it up with a good second of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Yarmouth (8f, good to firm) 6 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and well worth considering. Multiple AW winner, most recently over 7f here this month; close 2nd on turf since (1m). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3.5/1 -56%) Triggered |
3.5/1(-56%) | (1) Triggered 3.5/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 10 runs this year. 9/4, won 8-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 5 days ago. Big shout in his hat-trick bid under a 4 lb penalty. In cracking form at 7f on AW; first turf run at trip since 2020; current mark manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (9/1 +10%) Ajrad |
9/1(+10%) | (5) Ajrad 9/1, Latest win here in November. Solid fifth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 22/1) 17 days ago, not enjoying a clear run. One for the shortlist. Treading water on AW; having first 7f run on turf since ready August win (good to firm). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (4.5/1 -50%) Wizarding |
4.5/1(-50%) | (4) Wizarding 4.5/1, Winner at Kempton in November. 85/40, third of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f), doing too much too soon. Off 146 days but still not taken lightly. Winning handicap debut over 7f on AW; reasons for two subsequent defeats; back from break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (25/1 -39%) Nubough |
25/1(-39%) | (6) Nubough 25/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Visored for 1st time, only seventh of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Kempton (6f) 41 days ago. Something to find on form. Good weights chance on 7f AW form with Triggered in March but 0-18 on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (5/1 +69%) Be Prepared |
5/1(+69%) | (3) Be Prepared 5/1, C&D winner. Below form sixth of 12 in handicap at Salisbury (6f, good to soft, 7/2) 26 days ago. Eleven runs since last win in 2021. Close up on return from break on AW here in March; weak finisher in two starts since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Triggered is going through a renaissance period and is taken seriously after winning three of his last four starts in a pleasing manner. He turns out under a 4lb penalty for a relatively comfortable success at Wolverhampton on Thursday and another bold attempt is likely. However, NUBOUGH is 12lb better off at the weights from a C&D encounter earlier in the month and has a solid chance of turning the form around on these terms. King Cabo and Wizarding are others for consideration.
TRIGGERED made it three wins from his last four starts at Wolverhampton on Thursday, so this course winner is taken to defy a 4 lb penalty and bag another victory at the chief expense of the handily-weighted Wizarding who returns from a break with solid claims. In-form pair Revolutionary Man and Ajrad need considering too in a competitive handicap.
Triggered is respected on his recent AW form but REVOLUTIONARY MAN is also going well and only just failed on turf last week.

1st (2) (4.5/1 +36%) Girl Magic |
4.5/1(+36%) | (2) Girl Magic 4.5/1, 6/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, soft) 30 days ago. 2 lb lower now but others look better treated all the same. Usually leads; won over 5f and 6f as 2yo; more needed off current mark on 3yo form. |

2nd (6) (11/1 -57%) Raven's Up |
11/1(-57%) | (6) Raven's Up 11/1, 5/1, fifth of 6 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) 21 days ago. Enters calculations judged on Wolverhampton effort on penultimate start, and on her Ripon novice success last summer (beat Girl Magic). Found plenty when beating Girl Magic over 5f as 2yo; promising AW run on latest 6f start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (12/1 +14%) Class Member |
12/1(+14%) | (8) Class Member 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, last of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy, 15/2) 48 days ago. Back down in trip and she's probably worth taking on. Went close over 6f on AW in February; well held on handicap debut; more appeal back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (8/1 -14%) Overnight Oats |
8/1(-14%) | (5) Overnight Oats 8/1, Respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 13/2) 15 days ago. Entitled to come on for that run and he's one to consider. Not obviously ahead of his mark on 2yo form; entitled to come on for recent 6f AW return. |

5th (7) (9/1 +64%) Daytona Lady |
9/1(+64%) | (7) Daytona Lady 9/1, Latest win at Southwell in February. 50/1, eleventh of 17 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good to soft) 40 days ago. Others have achieved more. Best form for yard when 6f AW winner in February; usual slow start won't help back at 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (5/1 +58%) Spirit Of Breeze |
5/1(+58%) | (9) Spirit Of Breeze 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in handicap (8/1) at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) 26 days ago, slowly away. Needs to take a step forward. Never involved on 6f handicap debut at Salisbury but could be more of a factor today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (4/1 -45%) Ascari |
4/1(-45%) | (3) Ascari 4/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Third of 8 in maiden at Leicester (7f, heavy, 9/4) 17 days ago, slowly away. Possible that he'll be seen in a better light now pitched into a handicap, provided the faster ground doesn't prove to be a problem. Raced on soft at 1m/7f but could be a good candidate for sprint handicaps on fast ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (22/1 -57%) Royal Bliss |
22/1(-57%) | (4) Royal Bliss 22/1, 4/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Kempton (7f), going off too hard. Off 104 days and she looks vulnerable for win purposes. Weakened over 7f in February; possibilities on luckless 6f AW handicap debut previously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (3.5/1 -27%) Nogo's Dream |
3.5/1(-27%) | (1) Nogo's Dream 3.5/1, Lightly-raced winner. Successful at Wolverhampton in March. 13/8, good second of 6 in handicap at Ascot (6f, soft) 18 days ago, not running on. Blinkers on 1st time and he's a key player. Already shown useful handicap form at 7f and 6f; first-time headgear an unknown. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NOGO'S DREAM hit the woodwork at Ascot 18 days ago, where he hung in the closing stages. Connections reach for first-time blinkers and if they can help sharpen him up, he might be able to go one better. Ascari makes his handicap debut from a potentially workable mark and must be considered, while Royal Bliss, who showed promise in France at the back end of last year, could also have a say.
NOGO'S DREAM doesn't appear to be the most straightforward of conveyances but the addition of blinkers may well help in that respect, and he looks the one to beat having made the frame in higher-grade handicaps at Newmarket and Ascot the last twice. With his reappearance run under his belt, Overnight Oats could be the one to follow the selection home, though handicap debutant Ascari will be a threat if coping with conditions. Raven's Up is also shortlisted.
Nogo's Dream should go well if first-time blinkers help but ASCARI may well improve for the drop to 6f on his handicap debut.

1st (7) (5.5/1 +54%) Port Noir |
5.5/1(+54%) | (7) Port Noir 5.5/1, Twenty-five runs since last win in 2021. Eighth of 10 in handicap (10/3) at Bath (5.7f, firm) 4 days ago. Would be a threat off this mark if on-song but others make more appeal all the same. Acts well on good to firm; below best since January, including back on turf on Friday. |

2nd (9) (6.5/1 +28%) Mr Fayez |
6.5/1(+28%) | (9) Mr Fayez 6.5/1, Remains a maiden after 23 Flat runs. 7/2, sixth of 9 in handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good to firm) 7 days ago. Looks vulnerable once more. Handles quick ground; not yet off the mark; needs more than 6th at Brighton last week. |

3rd (2) (4.5/1 -13%) Yimou |
4.5/1(-13%) | (2) Yimou 4.5/1, Thirty-three runs since last win in 2020. Creditable second of 7 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 9/2) 19 days ago, slowly away. Back up in trip and should make his presence felt. On losing run but solid 2nd on AW recently and all four wins on good to firm. |

4th (5) (12/1 -50%) Thegreatestshowman |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Thegreatestshowman 12/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2021. 7/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 19 days ago, merely closing up late. Stepping back up to 6f no bad thing but he needs to bounce back. In fair form on AW; just 2-33 on turf but much lower in weights than latest runs on grass. |

5th (3) (4.5/1 -13%) Agapanther |
4.5/1(-13%) | (3) Agapanther 4.5/1, Latest win at Kempton in April. Fifth of 8 in handicap back there (6f, 9/2) 27 days ago. 0-5 on turf but was placed over this C&D and at Ffos Las (both on good) last season and she needs considering. Made all for both AW wins, at 7f and 6f; things didn't fall right latest; acts on turf. |

6th (4) (4.5/1 +59%) Areille |
4.5/1(+59%) | (4) Areille 4.5/1, 33/1 and blinkered for 1st time, eighth of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW). Off 108 days and it's probably best to look elsewhere. Two sprint wins in Ireland; low key on AW in Britain; hopes revived back on turf. |

7th (1) (4/1 -129%) First Company |
4/1(-129%) | (1) First Company 4/1, One win from 25 Flat runs. Good second of 7 in handicap (9/2) at Salisbury (6f, good to firm) 12 days ago, nearest finish. Not discounted. Nearly made weights drop pay at Salisbury recently; B Loughnane back in the saddle. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (22/1 -22%) Raphel Jake |
22/1(-22%) | (6) Raphel Jake 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving John Bridger when sixth of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 5/1) 27 days ago. Opposable on turf debut. Not sustain effort after disputing lead on 6f AW handicap debut; similar on cards today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Agapanther (fifth) paid the price for contesting a hot pace with Raphel Jake (sixth) at Kempton earlier this month and those tactics might set up it for a closer once again. With that in mind, preference is for YIMOU, who found only a well treated rival too strong at Southwell last time. First Company doesn't have the best strike-rate, but he often runs well in defeat and is likely to be on the premises under the talented Billy Loughnane.
The vote goes to AGAPANTHER, who was runner-up off just a 1 lb lower mark over this C&D last summer and did the job well when making a winning reappearance at Kempton. It's possible that the race came too soon when below par at the same course next time. Yimou is feared most, ahead of First Company.
First Company is respected but perhaps this is the day that YIMOU ends a losing run as this fast ground is what he likes best.
Ths is the racecard key.
