1st (3) (9/4 +10%) Mick's Spirit |
9/4(+10%) | (3) Mick's Spirit 9/4, 5-time C&D winner. Improved on recent efforts to win 8-runner handicap at this C&D (AW, 6/1) 9 days ago, always holding on. Not taken lightly despite a 2 lb rise. Won over C&D last Friday (his fifth win here); back up just 2lb and could be bang there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (7/2 +10%) Confederation |
7/2(+10%) | (7) Confederation 7/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. 4/1, good second of 6 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 7 days ago. Unreliable type. Tricky to win with but good second over C&D last Sunday off this career-low mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/4 +21%) Thismydream |
11/4(+21%) | (4) Thismydream 11/4, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. 11/4, respectable third of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 27 days ago. Has good chance on pick of form. Poor strike-rate but close third last time off this career-low mark; Simon Walker a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (11/2 -38%) Phoenix Beach |
11/2(-38%) | (2) Phoenix Beach 11/2, Latest win at Newcastle in November. 7/2, last of 8 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 24 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Needs a couple of these to falter. Won at Newcastle in November but below best the last twice; Polytrack debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 -56%) Boom The Groom |
14/1(-56%) | (1) Boom The Groom 14/1, 3-time C&D winner, latest in November. Last of 8 in handicap (18/1) at this C&D (AW) 42 days ago so needs to bounce back. Not quite at best over C&D last time but likes it here and could bounce back with bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 +0%) Josies Kid |
6/1(+0%) | (5) Josies Kid 6/1, Creditable third of 6 in handicap (6/1) at Chelmsford City (5f) 2 days ago. 2lb lower than for November win; close third of six at Chelmsford on Friday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Already a five-time course and distance winner, MICK'S SPIRIT seems to come alive at this venue and the Conrad Allen-trained gelding ticks too many boxes to be ignored. The recent Wolverhampton third Thismydream looks to be a big player with the irrepressible Simon Walker in the saddle, while Confederation is another who makes the shortlist from the foot of the handicap.
MICK'S SPIRIT took his form up a notch when garnering his fifth C&D success last week and a 2 lb rise doesn't look sufficient to prevent him from going in once more. Thismydream is weighted to go well and could be the danger.
The 13yo BOOM THE GROOM is a four-time winner on the Polytrack here and gets the nod ahead of recent C&D winner Mick's Spirit.

1st (2) (8/1 -60%) Smooth Silesie |
8/1(-60%) | (2) Smooth Silesie 8/1, 20/1, second of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 5 days ago, no match for winner. Makes polytrack debut. More required but she should at least give her running. Second at Wolverhampton on Tuesday, soundly beaten but still on the shortlist today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 +44%) Ten O'clock |
9/2(+44%) | (5) Ten O'clock 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 13/2) 29 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Needs to show more. Has shown little but there's potential in her pedigree and she's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (Evens -10%) Unavailable |
Evens(-10%) | (3) Unavailable Evens, Good second of 5 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 5/1) 16 days ago. Can go one better in a weak race if she's in the same form. A first win may well be imminent and this weak race could be an excellent opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (11/2 -22%) Talking Rubbish |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Talking Rubbish 11/2, Ninth of 10 in nursery at Chelmsford City (5f, 9/1) 52 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Claims if she can bounce back to the sort of form she showed on penultimate outing. Made it 0-7 when below par last time but perhaps the blinkers will give her a boost. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (20/1 +50%) Rosadilly |
20/1(+50%) | (6) Rosadilly 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Last of 9 in nursery (100/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 52 days ago. Down in trip. Blinkered for 1st time. Hard to make a case for. Drops in trip but well beaten on all four starts and it's hard to be confident. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (10/1 -25%) Orange Rosetta |
10/1(-25%) | (7) Orange Rosetta 10/1, Fourth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 33/1) 5 days ago. Looks limited. Fair efforts the last twice (over C&D initially) and she's not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (20/1 -25%) Tiliana |
20/1(-25%) | (4) Tiliana 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 29 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Needs headgear to perk her up. Still early days but well beaten on last month's handicap debut at Wolverhampton. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
This moderate event presents UNAVAILABLE with a golden opportunity to register a first career win. The Chelsea Banham-trained three-year-old arrives on the back of three respectable placed efforts under Joey Haynes and, having just been mugged near the line in a deeper race over C&D 16 days ago, is hard to oppose in this weaker company. Smooth Silesie is feared most, having shown promise since joining her current yard, while the unexposed Ten O'clock completes the shortlist.
UNAVAILABLE arrives on the back of a solid showing here and should get the lead in a weak affair, so she's a solid choice. Talking Rubbish is a big threat if she bounces back in first-time blinkers and Smooth Silesie could be on the premises.
This weak race could provide an excellent opportunity for the in-form UNAVAILABLE (nap) to get off the mark at the ninth attempt.

1st (3) (3/1 -84%) Sennockian |
3/1(-84%) | (3) Sennockian 3/1, 11/4, career best when winning 5-runner handicap at Newcastle (8f) 9 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Still unexposed and did well to get up last time, so big player. Head win in five-runner handicap at Newcastle (1m, Tapeta), always front rank and rallying. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (9/2 +0%) Ippotheos |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Ippotheos 9/2, Winner at Wolverhampton in December. 17/2, seventh of 8 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 39 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Tongue strap back on, cheekpieces on 1st time. Should benefit from the return to a left-handed track and stable is going well. Wolverhampton 6f win in December; backward steps both runs since; plenty of changes today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 -54%) Reveal |
10/1(-54%) | (5) Reveal 10/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 12/1, first run since leaving Ralph Beckett when fifth of 9 in minor event at Newcastle (7.1f) 20 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could do better for yard having good year. Bred to stay 1m and this unexposed sort is worth a second look on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (12/1 -71%) Kapparis Kid |
12/1(-71%) | (4) Kapparis Kid 12/1, Temperamental sort. Winner at Chelmsford City in December. Last of 6 in handicap at Kempton (6f, 5/1) 8 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Mark demands improvement. Won Chelmsford novice but last of six in Kempton handicap; worth another go beyond 6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (10/11 +60%) Aljezur |
10/11(+60%) | (1) Aljezur 10/11, Lightly-raced maiden. Creditable third of 10 in maiden (evens) at Kempton (7f) 20 days ago. Makes handicap debut and could do better now. Fair form all four runs; 1m plausible; may still be open to improvement, which he needs. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The handicapper has taken no chances with ALJEZUR, but the son of Galileo Gold showed stacks of promise in his four previous starts and can score on his handicap debut. Assuming he handles the sharp nature of this course, stepping up to a mile could bring about improvement from the selection. Sennockian is the biggest danger given his Newcastle success was well advertised when the third won next time. Handicap debutant Reveal is the pick of the rest.
SENNOCKIAN has few miles on the clock and upped his game to score at Newcastle last time, so he's comfortably the most appealing proposition. Ippotheos could return to form back on a left-handed track and handicap debutant Reveal may not have reached his limit at this stage.
The most solid claims seem to belong to SENNOCKIAN, given the revival for a 1m win on his reappearance, but there are dangers.

1st (11) (15/2 -15%) Savannah Smiles |
15/2(-15%) | (11) Savannah Smiles 15/2, C&D winner. Good fourth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 11/1) 9 days ago, faring best of those held up. Player at these weights. Just one win from 17 races but in good form over C&D of late and has to be in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/1 +43%) Neptune Legend |
2/1(+43%) | (1) Neptune Legend 2/1, 7/4, landed 12-runner minor event at this course (7f, AW) 6 days ago by ¾ length from Repartee, always holding on. Can go well again. Won 7f classified here on Monday; drops back in trip but not short of pace; strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (12/1 -85%) Admirable Lad |
12/1(-85%) | (2) Admirable Lad 12/1, Latest win at Kempton in January. 13/2, sixth of 9 in minor event at Chelmsford City (6f) 10 days ago. Weighted to go well if back on his A-game. Won 5f handicap at Kempton last month but that trip may suit best nowadays. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 +50%) Moorgate |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Moorgate 4/1, C&D winner in November. 5/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Kempton (7f) 60 days ago so needs to get back on track. In top form here towards end of last year; entitled to considerable respect now back here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (8/1 +33%) I'm Mable |
8/1(+33%) | (6) I'm Mable 8/1, Modest mare. 6/1, fair fourth of 6 in handicap at this course (5f, AW) 7 days ago. Others have achieved more. Some respectable course handicap form this winter; could be in the mix now in a classified. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (11/2 +31%) Universal Grace |
11/2(+31%) | (12) Universal Grace 11/2, Modest filly. 10/1, creditable second of 9 in minor event at Chelmsford City (6f) 10 days ago, left poorly placed. Ought to be in the shake-up. Has won just once, but good second in Chelmsford classified last time; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (40/1 +0%) Musaytir |
40/1(+0%) | (8) Musaytir 40/1, C&D winner. Only sixth of 9 in minor event (18/1) at this C&D (AW) 16 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Just one win (C&D) from 41 attempts and he hasn't really been threatening this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (10/1 +29%) Rebel Redemption |
10/1(+29%) | (9) Rebel Redemption 10/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022 but he posted a creditable 2½ lengths fifth of 12 to Neptune Legend in minor event (18/1) at this course (7f, AW) 6 days ago. No forlorn hope. The drop back in trip may help but losing run goes back 18 races to August 2022. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (12/1 +25%) Autumn Flight |
12/1(+25%) | (3) Autumn Flight 12/1, Modest gelding. C&D winner. 33/1, last of 12 in minor event at Newcastle (6f) 7 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Can give a good account. C&D winner who was close third over C&D two starts ago and is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (50/1 -100%) Furnicoe |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Furnicoe 50/1, Modest filly. 66/1 and visored for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 17 days ago. Back up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Not easy to make a case for. Below best on her three starts last month and is now 0-21. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
SAVANNAH SMILES fared best of those held up when fourth over C&D last week and she can make a bold bid for the gold medal here. Neptune Legend won over 7f here last time and can make his presence felt once again, although his draw could have been kinder. I'm Mable should appreciate this step back up to 6f and is another to consider.
Little between the principals at these weights so at the likely odds it is worth siding with SAVANNAH SMILES to bag a second C&D success having not enjoyed the rub of the green when a close fourth here last time. Repartee heads the list of dangers on the back of his good recent course second, with Admirable Lad and Neptune Legend also well in the mix.
The return to Lingfield could be ideal for C&D winner AUTUMN FLIGHT and he is the selection ahead of I'm Mable.

1st (5) (7/2 -80%) The Craftymaster |
7/2(-80%) | (5) The Craftymaster 7/2, Extended his winning run to 4 in 7-runner handicap at this C&D (AW, 7/4) 9 days ago, comfortably on top. Must be respected. On a five-timer, C&D winner last time, and it's hard to say when his improvement will stop. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/2 +29%) The Bunt |
5/2(+29%) | (1) The Bunt 5/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 17/2, very good second of 10 in handicap at Kempton (16f) 18 days ago, clear of rest. Player. Improved second of ten at Kempton (2m, Polytrack) on handicap debut; could build on it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 +20%) Simiyann |
4/1(+20%) | (2) Simiyann 4/1, Failed to meet expectations when fourth of 9 in handicap at Southwell (12.1f, 5/6) 6 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Can bounce back. Ex-French; best of three runs for new yard when short-headed at Wolverhampton over 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/1 +0%) Destinado |
7/1(+0%) | (6) Destinado 7/1, Course winner. Latest win here in January. 6/1, respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at this course (13f, AW) 6 days ago, never nearer. Up in trip. Blinkers back on. Shortlist material. 3-5 since joining James Owen; ran on late over 1m5f here last time; he's still of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (18/1 -125%) Anisoptera |
18/1(-125%) | (3) Anisoptera 18/1, C&D winner. 50/1, creditable second of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 22 days ago, left with lot to do and only just failed. Needs considering, Beaten a nose under Oliver Timms over C&D latest; a late player if the cards fall right. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (3/1 +25%) Hystery Bere |
3/1(+25%) | (4) Hystery Bere 3/1, Fairly useful winner at 16f in chases. 3/1, pulled up in handicap chase at Newbury (16.4f, soft) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Modest on the Flat, good on last Flat run. Unexposed on Flat; mark is very appealing if he's judged on ability as a hurdler or chaser. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Hystery Bere posted a laboured effort over fences at Newbury last month but, off what looks a workable Flat mark, he can make his presence felt on his return to this sphere. However, THE BUNT is unexposed and looks a more solid proposition. Simon Pearce's gelding arrives on the back of an excellent second on his first try over 2m and up 3lb, he may be tough to stop. The Craftymaster was last seen scoring over C&D earlier this month and he can make his presence felt, although a 4lb rise may make life tougher for him.
A decent race for the grade with the vote going to the unexposed THE BUNT, who pulled clear of the rest when second on his handicap debut at Kempton. Thriving pair The Craftymaster and Destinado head the dangers.
A small field in which all should be taken seriously. Improvement from THE BUNT may prevent The Craftymaster's five-timer.

2nd (6) (6/4 +40%) Kento |
6/4(+40%) | (6) Kento 6/4, Off 8 months (gelded), improved on his debut form when third of 8 in maiden at Chelmsford City (6f, 9/2) 31 days ago. Enters calculations. Promising 3rd at Chelmsford last month on second start and that run makes him a key player. |

3rd (5) (14/1 -40%) Gowareagle |
14/1(-40%) | (5) Gowareagle 14/1, €20,000 yearling, Gleneagles gelding. Closely related to winner up to 1½m Knight Rider and half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner Excesso Velocidad. Watch for market clues. There's potential in his pedigree and he's one to watch in the betting on debut. |

7/2(-115%) | (7) Radiant Angel 7/2, Harry Angel gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including very smart Hong Kong performer up to 1m Rewarding Hero and smart 7f-8.5f winner Dance And Dance. One to consider on debut. Half-brother to 5 winners; interesting newcomer, all the more so if strong in the betting. |

5th (2) (150/1 -50%) Sergeants Legacy |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Sergeants Legacy 150/1, Very green and never involved when sixth of 7 in minor event (100/1) at this C&D on his first outing 16 days ago. Likely to need to more time. Well beaten at 100-1 over C&D on last month's debut and needs big step forward. |

125/1(-25%) | (3) Tenet 125/1, Well held in his 2 starts to date, eighth of 9 in minor event at this course (7f, 200/1) 18 days ago. Looks to be up against it. Big odds and beaten 20l last month on first two runs (6f/7f, Polytrack). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SOVEREIGN KNIGHT produced his best performance to date when filling the runner-up spot over 7f here last month. Given the fact he weakened late on that day, the drop to 6f could suit, with the addition of first-time cheekpieces another potential source of improvement. Kento, who hit the frame at Chelmsford a month ago, looks the most likely threat. Radiant Angel warrants close inspection in the betting ahead of his racecourse bow.
SOVEREIGN KNIGHT has been thereabouts in all 3 of his starts so far, no extra only late on when runner-up at this course last time, so he is taken to get off the mark as he drops in trip with cheekpieces applied. Kento progressed from his debut when third at Chelmsford a month ago and looks the biggest threat, with Radiant Angel the pick of the newcomers.
Having reappeared with a close third at Chelmsford last month on his second start, KENTO is open to further improvement and is the pick.

Yard showing signs of turning corner and he's been shaping well recently, so can pose a threat. A declining force but his recent outings here make him one of the top players on form. |

7th (6) (22/1 +33%) Laurentia |
22/1(+33%) | (6) Laurentia 22/1, Modest mare. C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Creditable fifth of 9 in minor event at Chelmsford City (10f, 18/1) 31 days ago. More needed if she's to end her long losing run. 2023 and 2024 efforts do not suggest she has much of a chance. |

9th (7) (40/1 -150%) Miss Tiki |
40/1(-150%) | (7) Miss Tiki 40/1, Modest mare. 10/1, respectable seventh of 12 in minor event at Kempton (12f) 11 months ago. Not seen for almost a year and is dropped back in trip; probably best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The vote goes to MOON OVER THE SEA, who was on target in handicap company at Wolverhampton last month. He's favoured on these terms, especially when taking into account Jack Doughty's 7lb claim, so the five-year-old can repeat the dose. Following wind surgery, Tawtheef finished a creditable second in a similar C&D event when last seen. If Patrick Chamings' charge can take another step forward he's unlikely to be far away, along with Forever Proud, who was behind him in third that day.
MOON OVER THE SEA has been notably more prolific than his opposition here in recent years and Tony Carroll's gelding can follow up his latest Wolverhampton success. Stopnsearch has shaped as if back in form on his last couple of outings and can get involved, with Tawtheef taken to complete the placings.
The principal players may be TAWTHEEF, Moon Over The Sea and Stopnsearch.
Ths is the racecard key.
