5/2(+29%) | (8) Sara Valentina 5/2, 9/2, ninth of 12 in maiden at Leopardstown (8f, heavy) on debut. Off 6 months. Yard in good form. Could leave that opening effort well behind. Only 9-2 for back-end Leopardstown maiden, didn't get home over a mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/1 -67%) Emerald Harmony |
5/1(-67%) | (4) Emerald Harmony 5/1, Promising individual. Sixth of 14 in maiden (13/2) at Navan (5f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Yard in good form. May well do better. Beaten 6l both starts over 5f; had pair of these behind when onepaced at Navan last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 -40%) Pink Oxalis |
7/1(-40%) | (7) Pink Oxalis 7/1, Once-raced filly. 5/1, sixth of 16 in maiden at Gowran (8f, heavy) on debut 8 days ago. Only 5-1 for Gowran maiden on similar terrain, too keen when beaten 12l over a mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (16/1 -167%) Lady Daar |
16/1(-167%) | (6) Lady Daar 16/1, Once-raced filly. Seventh of 14 in maiden at Navan (5f, good to soft, 25/1) on debut 9 days ago, not ideally placed. Significantly up in trip. Unfancied when never better than mid-field over 5f at Navan, shaped okay, beaten 7.5l. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (5/2 +67%) Help Me Rhonda |
5/2(+67%) | (5) Help Me Rhonda 5/2, Once-raced filly. Seventh of 18 in maiden (20/1) at Cork (8f, good to soft) on debut 20 days ago. Stable in good form. Should have more to offer. 20-1 for Cork debut over a mile, very green when called on for an effort and beaten 12l. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (4/1 +0%) Marble Angel |
4/1(+0%) | (3) Marble Angel 4/1, Twice-raced filly. 11/1, third of 10 in maiden at Sligo (5.7f, good to soft) on reappearance 11 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Just run out of it close home on easy ground over furlong less at Sligo; come on for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (80/1 +20%) Warazam |
80/1(+20%) | (10) Warazam 80/1, Once-raced filly. 100/1, thirteenth of 16 in maiden at Gowran (7f, heavy) on debut 8 days ago. Was 100-1 when out the back over 7f at Gowran last week, beaten 22l; can only watch. |

9th (9) (125/1 -150%) Soar Beyond |
125/1(-150%) | (9) Soar Beyond 125/1, Twice-raced filly. 50/1, thirteenth of 14 in maiden at Navan (5f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Stable in good form. Well beaten both starts and yard second-string; makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (66/1 +0%) Short Change |
66/1(+0%) | (1) Short Change 66/1, Twice-raced gelding. 100/1, first run since leaving J. J. Feane when ninth of 14 in maiden at Navan (5f, good to soft) 9 days ago, not knocked about. Significantly back up in trip. Mid-field both starts including when a length and a half behind Lady Daar over 5f at Navan. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SARA VALENTINA was unplaced in a hot maiden at Leopardstown in October, but could return with a victory. She is a nicely-bred sort and is a half-sister to a horse that was placed twice in Listed company. Marble Angel could deliver upon the promise of a third place in a sprint maiden at Sligo. That was her debut on turf and she attempted to make the best way home in the final quarter of a mile, but was collared in the closing stages. Pink Oxalis ran freely on her racecourse bow at Gowran Park and a step forward wouldn't be surprising. Help Me Rhonda was a six-figure purchase who put in an adequate debut performance in seventh at Cork while Emerald Harmony cannot be ruled out.
SARA VALENTINA was prominent in the market on her Leopardstown debut last backend and it would be no surprise to see this daughter of dual Group 3 winner Carla Bianca leave that bare form well behind now. Hot To Foxtrot is another potential improver and is second choice ahead of Andrew Oliver's Marble Angel.
Compared to her sole juvenile run, it was a good step forward from MARBLE ANGEL when third at Sligo and she handled softish ground well

1st (3) (9/4 +50%) Pinar Del Rio |
9/4(+50%) | (3) Pinar Del Rio 9/4, 1 win from 2 runs this year. 10/3, won 17-runner handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft) 10 days ago, readily. Others more persuasive. Up 11lb for last two runs but well-drawn for a prominent racer and could take beating. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (8/1 -100%) Shawaamekh |
8/1(-100%) | (2) Shawaamekh 8/1, Seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Good second of 20 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, soft, 20/1) on reappearance 10 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Up 4lb for Curragh run but still well handicapped on his best form and should contend here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 +22%) Rathbranchurch |
7/1(+22%) | (4) Rathbranchurch 7/1, One win from 23 Flat runs. Below form 6½ lengths eighth of 17 to Pinar Del Rio in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 13/2) 10 days ago. Good initial Curragh run; disappointing last twice though and others preferred here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (5/2 +9%) Ramiro |
5/2(+9%) | (1) Ramiro 5/2, C&D winner. 7/1, creditable third of 21 in handicap at the Curragh (6f, heavy) 26 days ago. Expected to be bang there. Could be better drawn but comes here in good form and should be thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (11/1 -10%) Run Forrest Run |
11/1(-10%) | (7) Run Forrest Run 11/1, 12/1, below form 9¾ lengths ninth of 17 to Pinar Del Rio in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft) 10 days ago. Hood back on. Below par on his two runs this season and arguable whether he wants the ground as testing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (22/1 -83%) Half Nutz |
22/1(-83%) | (5) Half Nutz 22/1, C&D winner. Twenty five runs since last win in 2022. 24½ lengths sixteenth of 17 to Pinar Del Rio in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 16/1) 10 days ago. Quirky character on a lengthy losing run and no encouragement from his last two runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (33/1 -175%) Fickou |
33/1(-175%) | (11) Fickou 33/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form thirteenth of 21 in handicap at Navan (5f, good to soft, 25/1) on reappearance 19 days ago, merely closing up late. Significantly back up in trip. Not beaten far on his return to action at Navan last month; step up in trip will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -164%) Lively Set |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Lively Set 66/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, first run since leaving W. McCreery when tenth of 12 in handicap at Naas (5.9f, soft) 17 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. No show on her stable debut at Naas last month and cheekpieces tried; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (28/1 -155%) Sunset Nova |
28/1(-155%) | (12) Sunset Nova 28/1, Ninth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (8f, 14/1) 33 days ago. Must improve. Ten career wins but Dundalk form getting more patchy despite coming down the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (20/1 -82%) Nordic Passage |
20/1(-82%) | (6) Nordic Passage 20/1, 14½ lengths thirteenth of 17 to Pinar Del Rio in handicap (50/1) at the Curragh (6f, soft) 10 days ago. Colin Keane up but will need to leave his 2 runs this season well behind. Ban better than his finishing position at the Curragh last week; champion jockey booked. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (100/1 -203%) Spirit Of Eagles |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Spirit Of Eagles 100/1, 150/1, eighteenth of 21 in handicap at Navan (5f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Shown very little in two runs for this yard including back on turf last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) (6/1 +50%) Linger For Longer |
6/1(+50%) | (8) Linger For Longer 6/1, Respectable 3½ lengths fifth of 17 to Pinar Del Rio in handicap at the Curragh (6f, soft, 28/1) on reappearance 10 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Not discounted. Poorly drawn but has real claims if she can step forward from that initial Curragh run. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SHAWAAMEKH probably wants a bit further, but is a credit to connections and there was a lot to like about his seasonal reappearance in the Curragh. He found only one horse too good in that big field over 7f and plenty of cut in the ground is ideal for Johnny Levins' charge. Ramiro's third place in a higher grade at the Curragh entitles him to respect and he is a former course winner, while Pinar Del Rio has done little wrong this season in banking a runner-up berth and victory at the Curragh. Levins also saddles Nordic Passage who is dropping down the weights to an attractive mark.
RAMIRO has made a good start for the Hilary McLoughlin yard and is taken to get his head back in front. Shawaamekh made a good return to action when runner-up at the Curragh recently and is second choice ahead of Pinar Del Rio.
The tentative vote goes to LINGER FOR LONGER, who ran like she needed the run against Pinar Del Rio last week and could improve enough

1st (3) (5/4 +55%) Fleur De Chine |
5/4(+55%) | (3) Fleur De Chine 5/4, Fair form. 9/4, only seventh of 18 in maiden (9/4) at the Curragh (7f, heavy) on reappearance 59 days ago. Needs to leave that run behind. Best of her three runs was 3l third at Leopardstown in October (7f, heavy); excused latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (5/2 -81%) Kailasa |
5/2(-81%) | (4) Kailasa 5/2, Once-raced filly. 10/1, fourth of 18 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, heavy) on debut 26 days ago, running on. Trainer going well. Leading claims with improvement on the cards. Bit keen but kept on to be close fourth of 18 at the Curragh (7f, heavy); second won since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/2 +13%) Next Trick |
7/2(+13%) | (6) Next Trick 7/2, Twice-raced filly. Sixth of 18 in maiden (12/1) at the Curragh (7f, heavy) on reappearance 59 days ago. Stable having good spell. Hood on 1st time. Should go well. Sixth at the Curragh (7f, heavy) in March, a place ahead of Fleur De Chine; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/1 -144%) Katie Bairdie |
11/1(-144%) | (5) Katie Bairdie 11/1, Promising sort. Fifth of 10 in maiden at Sligo (5.7f, good to soft, 11/8) 11 days ago, slowly away. Back up in trip. Remains capable of better. Third on return at Cork (7f, heavy); started slowly and didn't handle the track at Sligo. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (11/1 +8%) Sirene Success |
11/1(+8%) | (7) Sirene Success 11/1, €52,000 Success Days filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 7f winner San Carlos and 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Signora Camacho. One to note in the betting on debut under Billy Lee. By yard's multiple Group winner Success Days and half-sister to some useful winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (150/1 -50%) Dreamline Amelia |
150/1(-50%) | (2) Dreamline Amelia 150/1, Thrice-raced filly. Seventh of 13 in maiden (200/1) at Dundalk (8f). Off 104 days. At least managed to beat a few rivals on third AW start but makes no appeal on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (150/1 -50%) Bridge The Gap |
150/1(-50%) | (1) Bridge The Gap 150/1, Twice-raced filly. Last of 16 in maiden (100/1) at Gowran (7f, heavy) 8 days ago. Curragh debut over 6f wasn't without merit but trailed home last over 7f since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KAILASA finished well in a close fourth on debut at the Curragh last month and there should be plenty of improvement to come. The runner-up endorsed the form with a clear-cut victory in a Leopardstown maiden on his next start. Next Trick is related to a couple of multiple winners and could improve in the first-time hood. A drop in trip didn't see Katie Bairdie at her best in Sligo, but she has placed form over 7f at Cork to call upon. Fleur De Chine is better than her seventh on seasonal bow at the Curragh in March and ought to be in contention, while newcomer Sirene Success is well worth a market check.
There was a lot to like about KAILASA's debut effort at the Curragh last month and the Aga Khan's filly is taken to improve past Next Trick and Katie Bairdie.
A return to 7f will suit KATIE BAIRDIE who didn't enjoy her visit to Sligo where she was always playing catch up after missng the kick

1st (1) (4/5 +64%) Lord Church |
4/5(+64%) | (1) Lord Church 4/5, Thrice-raced maiden. 66/1, ninth of 15 in maiden at Leopardstown (8f, heavy). Off 6 months. Makes handicap debut. Possible improver and it'll be interesting to see how he compares in the betting to stablemate Nakasero. Respectable mid-field runs in Curragh/Leopardstown maidens last term and gelded since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (15/2 -50%) Poppadom |
15/2(-50%) | (3) Poppadom 15/2, Thirteenth of 14 in handicap (18/1) at Dundalk (6f) 41 days ago. A return to turf needs to help him spark a revival. Some promise in maiden/nurseries last year but hasn't gone on and well held on AW lately. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 -80%) Private Officer |
9/2(-80%) | (4) Private Officer 9/2, Respectable third of 7 in handicap (3/1) at Gowran (7f, heavy) 7 days ago. Might prove the answer. A laboured effort saw him finish third of seven on bad ground at Gowran last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (16/1 +0%) Anyothername |
16/1(+0%) | (6) Anyothername 16/1, 28/1, twelfth of 15 in handicap at Navan (5f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Blinkered for 1st time, tongue strap on for 1st time. Weakened tamely to be beaten 10l on h'cap bow at Navan (5f); headgear combo fitted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/1 -25%) Nakasero |
5/1(-25%) | (2) Nakasero 5/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventeenth of 20 in maiden at the Curragh (5.9f, heavy, 150/1). Off 6 months. More chance now handicapping on return. Betting informative. Finished upsides stablemate Lord Church at Curragh in October; in rear since; gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (12/1 -85%) Weston Grey |
12/1(-85%) | (5) Weston Grey 12/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, tenth of 14 in maiden at Navan (5f, good to soft, 150/1) 9 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Mid-field run over 6f in hot maiden at Curragh wasn't too bad; could feature on h'cap bow. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PRIVATE OFFICER brings the best recent form to the contest and is proven on testing ground. He was beaten a fair way into third at Gowran Park, but did some good late work. James Ryan's 5lb claim has him on a lovely light weight in this field. Lord Church has a trio of ninth places in maidens at quality tracks in the book and ought to make an impact on his handicap debut. Poppadom and Amy Jo Hayes could be in the hunt for a cheque, while a tongue-strap and blinkers would need to have a significant effect on Anyothername.
The suggestion is PRIVATE OFFICER, who didn't shape too badly at Gowran last week. Lord Church and Nakasero are possible improvers in handicaps for the Mick Halford & Tracey Collins stable and might be the pair to give the selection most to do.
Her middle maiden run in a hot contest at the Curragh wasn't too bad and WESTON GREY might be good enough off an opening mark of 50

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (6) (7/1 -40%) Alabama Calling |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Alabama Calling 7/1, Lightly-raced filly. Good second of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (8f, 17/2) 33 days ago. Should give another good account but improvement is required if she's to open her account. Runner-up over this trip in a handicap at Dundalk last month; ground is an unknown. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (5/2 +62%) Victoria Kesia |
5/2(+62%) | (8) Victoria Kesia 5/2, Thrice-raced filly. Third of 8 in maiden (16/1) at Gowran (9.4f, heavy) 8 days ago. Should get competitive again. Decent effort over further in a Gowran fillies maiden last week; can improve further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 -35%) Judge Me Not |
13/8(-35%) | (4) Judge Me Not 13/8, Promising type. 50/1, second of 11 in maiden at Gowran (8f, heavy) 7 days ago. Likely to improve again and should take all the beating. Gowran runner-up on the upgrade and looks to have an ideal opportunity here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/2 +13%) Inner Success |
7/2(+13%) | (3) Inner Success 7/2, Once-raced gelding. 28/1, sixth of 9 in maiden at Leopardstown (10f, heavy) on debut 36 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Open to progress. Drop back to 1m could suit and should improve a bit for that debut run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (10/1 +0%) Edvard Grieg |
10/1(+0%) | (2) Edvard Grieg 10/1, Lightly-raced gelding. 14/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at Gowran (8f, soft) 22 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Others more persuasive. Has shown a level of ability in four starts although well beaten on his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 +62%) Tyder |
25/1(+62%) | (5) Tyder 25/1, Twice-raced gelding. Ninth of 18 in maiden (125/1) at Cork (8f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Unlikely to feature. Well beaten in two maidens and handicaps will suit better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (66/1 +0%) Del Posto |
66/1(+0%) | (1) Del Posto 66/1, Twice-raced gelding. Twelfth of 20 in maiden at the Curragh (8f, heavy, 40/1). Off 6 months. First run for yard after leaving Mrs J. Harrington. Gelded on his debut for a new stable; one for handicaps after this. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ALABAMA CALLING was an eye-catcher just over a month ago in Dundalk when she came from a long way back and stayed on well for second without troubling the winner. It is debatable whether she wants truly testing ground, but she is a half-sister to a soft-ground winner. Judge Me Not was very easy to back in Gowran Park, but ran more than creditably in second. He has the advantage of being proven on this ground. Victoria Kesia showed marked improvement in third over further at Gowran Park and this trip shouldn't inconvenience her, while Inner Success shouldn't be ruled out.
JUDGE ME NOT took a marked step forward when runner-up at Gowran 7 days ago and a performance of similar merit could be enough to go one better for all that Inner Success is also open to improvement. Victoria Kesia should be on the premises again.
A reproduction of his second over this trip at Gowran last week should be enough to see JUDGE ME NOT home

2/1(+15%) | (2) Cruden 2/1, 30,000 gns foal, 52,000 gns yearling, Time Test colt. Closely related to German 2-y-o 6.5f/7.5f winner A Kind Magic. Dam French 1½m winner. Promising type. Tongue strap on, third of 12 in maiden (15/2) at Navan (10f, good to soft) on debut 19 days ago. Should have more to offer. Capable of plenty of improvement and should go close here if handling the deeper ground. |

4/5(+0%) | (6) Soul Of Spain 4/5, Twice-raced colt. 1/4, third of 9 in maiden at Gowran (9.4f, heavy) 23 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Hard to beat on debut form. Cheekpieces tried and the step up in trip should suit; question to answer after Gowran. |

3rd (5) (4/1 +47%) Northern Sonas |
4/1(+47%) | (5) Northern Sonas 4/1, Twice-raced gelding. Much better effort when third of 12 in maiden at the Curragh (10f, heavy, 80/1) 26 days ago. Step up in trip from Curragh likely to suit and should be capable of a good showing here. |

200/1(-100%) | (1) Lough Alina 200/1, Lightly-raced mare. Twelfth of 14 in maiden at Dundalk (6f, 250/1) 76 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Hard to make a case for. Has beaten a total of three rivals in five starts and looks of little account. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SOUL OF SPAIN disappointed when a beaten favourite in third at Gowran Park last month, but the step up in trip could work the oracle. There was plenty of promise in his debut second at the Curragh in the autumn and he does hold some very notable entries. First-time cheekpieces are fitted. Cruden couldn't get to grips with the leaders in third at Navan, however, there is plenty to work with from that first start. Northern Sonas showed much more in third when upped in trip at the Curragh and tries a longer distance now.
SOUL OF SPAIN was beaten at very short odds on reappearance, but showed plenty on sole 2-y-o start, and he looks the one to beat. Cruden shaped well on debut nearly 3 weeks ago and is the obvious danger.
It may pay to side here with CRUDEN who should come on plenty for his good run at Navan

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NUSRA is only 4lb higher than when winning over further at Dundalk in March, so has obvious claims in a race lacking in depth. Ideally, she wouldn't want the ground to be too deep, but she does have form on soft ground. Mayo For Sam put in her best effort to date when runner-up at Navan and, if she handles this slower ground, would be in the mix. Lisamaria was backed down to favouritism on her return to action in Leopardstown, but was well beaten. She has heavy-ground form, though, and could show more here. Brilliant Question switches to the Flat after picking up prize money hurdling and could outrun her odds.
MAYO FOR SAM reacted well to a first-time visor when runner-up at Navan 9 days ago and, if she's in the same form, she can go one better at the possible expense of Dundalk winner Nusra. Spinning Web is another one to consider.
Preference is for MAYO FOR SAM(nap), who will be hard to beat if reproducing last week's effort at Gowran
Ths is the racecard key.
