250/1(-25%) | (2) Churchill Gale 250/1, Foaled February 2. €8,000 yearling, Churchill filly. Dam 6.7f/7f winner. Cheaply bought Churchill filly likely best watched on debut. |

200/1(-33%) | (5) Goldino 200/1, Twice-raced filly. 66/1, ninth of 13 in maiden at Cork (5f, good to soft) 16 days ago, slowly away. Significantly up in trip. Two runs last month were modest, more likely type for a nursery. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
There's a lot to like about Aidan O'Brien's GISELLE on paper being by Frankel out of a Breeders' Cup winner, with Ryan Moore on board. She holds a Group 2 entry for the end of the month. Dahlia Noir showed plenty of potential when runner-up on debut over a similar trip at this track behind a well-regarded winner. She sets a more-than-decent standard for the newcomers to reach. O'Brien also takes the wraps off another regally-bred filly in Bedtime Story, who is by Frankel out of a Group 1-winning sprinter. She has the same Group 2 engagement. Queens Fury and Jessica Harrington's newcomer Vega's Muse shouldn't be ruled out.
DAHLIA NOIR's runner-up effort here 3 weeks ago was chock-full of promise given her obvious greenness. Sure to build on that, she's the percentage call, for all Aidan O'Brien unleashes a couple of very well-bred debutantes in Giselle and Bedtime Story.
C&D second Dahlia Noir has major claims but could find superbly-bred debutante GISELLE too strong

1st (6) (7/4 -27%) Portland |
7/4(-27%) | (6) Portland 7/4, Useful colt. Good 3¾ lengths fourth of 8 to Arabian Crown in Classic Trial at Sandown (10f, good to soft, 9/1) 41 days ago. Up in trip and just about the one to beat on these terms. Sandown Trial fourth a leading player if staying this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/4 +17%) Kinesiology |
11/4(+17%) | (5) Kinesiology 11/4, Strong at the finish when winning 10-runner maiden at Cork (10.2f, good) 27 days ago. That was just this third start and this trip sure to be within range. Cork maiden winner likely to improve again at this longer trip; upped in class. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (2/1 -14%) Keeper's Heart |
2/1(-14%) | (4) Keeper's Heart 2/1, Promising type. 1½ lengths fourth of 5 to Los Angeles in Derby Trial Stakes (18/1) at this course (10f, good to firm) 25 days ago, slowly away and sure to have finished closer with a clear run. More to come. Staying-on Derby Trial fourth augurs well for this step up in trip; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (22/1 +45%) Bad Desire |
22/1(+45%) | (1) Bad Desire 22/1, Fairly useful colt. Bit below form third of 14 in maiden (8/13) at Gowran (9.4f, good to soft) 3 days ago, not ideally placed. Up in trip and no easy task on these terms. Second to Kinesiology at Cork, not so good at Gowran on Monday; upped in trip now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 +0%) Gesture |
28/1(+0%) | (2) Gesture 28/1, Fairly useful colt. 2 wins from 3 runs this year. 9/2, career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Dundalk (10.7f) 55 days ago. Going the right way since adopting front-running tactics but this asks a new question. Progressive front-running handicapper on AW; much tougher task on turf return. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The 107-rated PORTLAND has to be the starting point up in trip. This Dubawi colt was last seen finishing fourth in a Group 3 at Sandown and has a third place in a Group 1 in France last autumn in his locker. Keeper's Heart is next best with a mark of 102. He received a hike of 13lb from the handicapper after a close fourth in the Group 3 Derby Trial at Leopardstown in May. He is also up in trip and is very much unexposed after three runs. Jessica Harrington said she was looking forward to seeing Kinesiology over this distance after he won his maiden over an extended 1m2f in Cork last month.
PORTLAND and Keeper's Heart produced career-best efforts in Group 3 company last time and may well fight out the finish with this trip sure to suit both. Marginal preference is for the Aidan O'Brien representative.
Portland edges it on form but KEEPER'S HEART may have more scope for improvement at this trip

13/2(+64%) | (5) No Hassle 13/2, 14/1, creditable sixth of 10 in handicap at Roscommon (12.1f, good) 17 days ago. Each-way claims. Roscommon comeback run last month just okay, needs to step forward here; ground to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (11/2 +8%) Bold Approach |
11/2(+8%) | (8) Bold Approach 11/2, Course winner. Twenty five runs since last win in 2019. 20/1, eleventh of 17 in handicap at the Curragh (14f, soft) 11 days ago. Claims on best form. Penultimate C&D third under today's rider was a good effort; on a fair mark now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/1 -67%) St Faz |
5/1(-67%) | (6) St Faz 5/1, Back from 4 months off when good third in Navan handicap (13f, good to soft) in April and landed a maiden over hurdles since. Shortlist material. Recent hurdles winner likes this ground, on a competitive mark and should go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (17/2 -6%) Sugaree |
17/2(-6%) | (2) Sugaree 17/2, Lightly-raced winner. Course winner. Last of 9 in handicap at the Curragh (12f, good to soft, 9/4). Off 9 months. Yard having good spell. Lightly raced C&D winner reappears still unexposed with ground to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (17/2 +74%) Jaafel |
17/2(+74%) | (4) Jaafel 17/2, Last of 11 in handicap at this course (10f, good to firm, 50/1) 25 days ago. Up in trip. Makes limited appeal. Now 0-21 on turf and recent efforts for current yard poor; hard to have confidence in. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (33/1 -136%) Influential Lady |
33/1(-136%) | (10) Influential Lady 33/1, Tenth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe (22.6f, good, 20/1) 10 days ago. Fair on the Flat, poor on last Flat outing. NH mare a slow-starter on occasions but retains enthusiasm and can't be ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/2 +22%) Theophilos |
7/2(+22%) | (7) Theophilos 7/2, Good second of 8 in handicap (7/2) at Roscommon (10.3f, good) 17 days ago. Back up in trip. Trainer going well. Another bold show likely. Just denied at Roscommon; just 1lb higher so has to be on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (11/2 -38%) Astar |
11/2(-38%) | (3) Astar 11/2, Back from 6 months off when good fourth of 16 in handicap at Navan (13f, good to soft) 40 days ago, having hopeless task from position. Warrants respect. Okay Navan comeback run so has to be considered although onepaced. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (66/1 -32%) Bring Us Paradise |
66/1(-32%) | (9) Bring Us Paradise 66/1, Good fifth of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (12f, 40/1), left with lot to do. Off 7 months. Disappointed on last turf start. Well held in restricted campaign last year; best watched on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (22/1 -22%) Firstman |
22/1(-22%) | (1) Firstman 22/1, 14/1, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Dundalk (10.7f) 83 days ago, never nearer. Back up in trip. Not out of things. Comeback run in March was okay but seems best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Dermot Weld's ASTAR won her maiden on good ground in Clonmel last September and will appreciate this surface. Her fourth in a higher grade at Navan in April reads well as the winner endorsed the form in Killarney. St Faz was placed over a similar trip in Navan and subsequently took a maiden hurdle in Killarney. He has to be respected reverting to the Flat off a mark of 74. Sugaree makes her seasonal reappearance and shed her maiden tag at this track last season, so is one to monitor for market strength. Theophilos had a good run in second over a shorter trip at Roscommon and is in the mix.
Preference is for THEOPHILOS, who stepped up on his reappearance run when second at Roscommon last month and looks worth another crack at this longer trip. St Faz and Astar are feared most
A winner over hurdles recently, ST FAZ had earlier finished a good third on the Flat at Navan and could be the one to be on here

2/1(+11%) | (5) Tarawa 2/1, Useful filly. Course winner. 11/8, 2½ lengths third of 5 to Mutasarref in listed race at Naas (7f, good to firm) on return 18 days ago, slowly away. Up in trip. Cheekpieces back on. Likely to be much closer to form this time and the one to beat. Smart level of form at her best; cheekpieces back on here and should stay. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (15/2 -67%) Cairo |
15/2(-67%) | (2) Cairo 15/2, Useful colt. Course winner. 40/1, 9½ lengths twelfth of 16 to Facteur Cheval in Dubai Turf at Meydan (9f, good) 68 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Aidan O'Brien. Tongue strap on 1st time. Last year's Irish Guineas' second; first start for new yard and major player if near best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (14/1 +0%) Unreasonable |
14/1(+0%) | (8) Unreasonable 14/1, Thrice-raced winner. 3½ lengths fourth of 7 to Wendla in Cornelscourt Stakes (20/1) at this course (8f, good to firm) 25 days ago, well positioned. More needed again. Lightly raced 3yo likely has a good bit to find and not a certain stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (8/1 +11%) Self Belief |
8/1(+11%) | (1) Self Belief 8/1, Smart gelding. C&D winner. 15/2, 7¾ lengths seventh of 8 to Boogie Woogie in listed race at this course (10f, heavy). Off 7 months. Player on pick of his form (Group 3 winner over C&D last summer). C&D Meld Stakes winner last summer returns with a bit to prove and ideally wants it softer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (3/1 +0%) Formal Display |
3/1(+0%) | (7) Formal Display 3/1, Thrice-raced winner. 8/13, won 14-runner maiden at Dundalk (8f), driven out. Off 6 months. Bit to find but should improve further. Unexposed 3yo could well have more to offer upped in trip here; ground to suit too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (11/1 -38%) Belhaven |
11/1(-38%) | (4) Belhaven 11/1, Useful mare. First run since leaving Harry Eustace, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Sligo (10.6f, good to soft, 17/2) 32 days ago. Not taken lightly. Sligo winner on yard debut faces much tougher task here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (40/1 -60%) Quar Shamar |
40/1(-60%) | (3) Quar Shamar 40/1, Useful gelding. 6/1, last of 6 in minor event at Listowel (8f, good) 4 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Disappointing sort too keen at Listowel on Sunday; cheekpieces back on but many questions. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (22/1 +12%) Clean Energy |
22/1(+12%) | (6) Clean Energy 22/1, Dawn Approach colt. Half-brother to 7f winner Vocal Studies and 10.3f winner Halla Ban. Dam winner up to 1m (2-y-o 6f winner). Tough ask for a newcomer. Stiff task on belated debut but holds Group 1 entries so clearly held in some regard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
TARAWA is taken to progress from her third place in Listed class over 7f at Naas last month. She is entitled to come on from that first run in over seven months and should appreciate this new trip. Cairo has to be feared on his first start for Alice Haynes. He was runner-up in last season's Irish 2,000 Guineas for Aidan O'Brien and has a Group 3 triumph at this venue in the book. Jim Bolger's Clean Energy has some very notable Group 1 entries and is pitched in here for his debut, so has to be given a market check. Self Belief enjoys this track, but would prefer some juice in the ground.
TARAWA was a bit disappointing on her comeback run at Naas but she probably needed that so is worth another chance with headgear back on. Self Belief isn't the most consistent and is penalised for his Group 3 win over C&D last summer, but still rates the main threat ahead of improving 3-y-o Formal Display.
With a possible race-fitness edge TARAWA (nap) gets the vote over Cairo

10/3(-21%) | (5) Livio Milo 10/3, Ran up to best with a claimer aboard after 7 months off when third of 14 in handicap (6/1) at this course (8f, heavy) a couple of months ago. Cheekpieces back on. Plenty to like. Galway maiden winner over 7f last summer ran a fine race over 1m here on return; a player. |

11/2(-57%) | (4) Shigar 11/2, Ran well to place once more when third of 19 in handicap at the Curragh (8f, good, 16/1) 13 days ago. Shortlist material nudged up 2 lb. Dual AW winner in UK ran a cracker at Curragh last time and can go well off 2lb higher. |

4th (7) (28/1 +58%) True Statesman |
28/1(+58%) | (7) True Statesman 28/1, Temperamental sort. Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. Ran one of lesser races when sixth of 8 in handicap at Roscommon (10.3f, good, 50/1) 17 days ago. Dual UK winner in 2022; needs to improve a fair bit on his two runs for this yard. |

5th (1) (4/1 +27%) Longbourn |
4/1(+27%) | (1) Longbourn 4/1, Again ran well when third of 14 in handicap at Dundalk (10.7f, 4/1) when last seen 6 months ago. Leading claims if ready to roll back on turf. Third in this last year; premier handicap winner on AW later in year; might need this run. |

6th (3) (11/1 +31%) Exquisite Acclaim |
11/1(+31%) | (3) Exquisite Acclaim 11/1, 2 wins from 5 runs this year, latest at Dundalk in March. 18/1, ran creditably returned to turf when seventh of 12 in handicap at Naas (8f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Won his fourth race (all on AW) in March; not a bad run off 2lb higher at Naas since. |

7th (2) (7/2 -40%) This Songisforyou |
7/2(-40%) | (2) This Songisforyou 7/2, Bumper winner on debut. 2/7, had plenty in hand when won 7-runner maiden at Clonmel (9.6f, good) when last seen 9 months ago. Makes handicap debut. Sure to be popular. Bumper winner was an impressive Flat maiden scorer at Clonmel when last seen; of interest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LIVIO MILO's staying-on third over 1m at this track in April was a notable performance. Judging by that effort, this extra furlong will do him no harm at all. This Songisforyou is sure to be popular on his first start of the season after hacking up in a Clonmel maiden when last seen in September. Prior to that, he was just pipped by a short head over C&D, so his form stacks up. The admirable Longbourn rarely runs a bad race and should be in there pitching on his return to action. Furthermore, he has gone well fresh before. Shigar posted two decent placed efforts last month, which gives him a chance.
Dermot Weld and Chris Hayes combined to land this last year and they can repeat that feat with LIVIO MILO, who ran up to his best when third at this track a couple of months ago and has his usual headgear reapplied here. Shigar has returned with a couple of third-placed efforts in big-field handicaps, so he's put forward as the main danger, with Longbourn taken to edge out handicap-debutant This Songisforyou for bronze.
Having gone close off a 2lb lower mark at the Curragh last time over a mile, SHIGAR can get back on the scoresheet up in trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
NOT FORGOTTEN hasn't been beaten far at all in his last three outings and could be ready to double his career total. The blinkers that were tried when fourth in this grade at the Curragh are retained. The in-form Glor Tire reappears under the mandatory 7lb penalty after obliging at Gowran Park on Monday. A 10lb claimer has been enlisted to more than offset the penalty in her bid for a hat-trick. If that race hasn't left a mark, she is a major contender. Rampage goes well at Leopardstown, while handicap debutant Solomon Coop is one to note. Currumbin, Chavajod and Darkdeserthighway cannot not be ruled out in a competitive heat.
GLOR TIRE has returned an improved model and is fancied to complete the hat-trick under a penalty. Fellow 3-y-o Currumbin is next best ahead of Not Forgotten.
A close second on handicap debut at Killarney last time, CURRUMBIN could improve enough to defy a 5lb higher mark.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
POMERIGGIO has an each-way chance from stall one. Her fourth place in a better-class contest at Dundalk has been well franked and the inside draw gives this prominent racer the opportunity to put her best foot forward. I Bid You Ajou has been placed on his last couple of starts and Colin Keane stays loyal, so the pair have to enter calculations. Artful Approach kept on well for fourth over 7f at Cork, so is well worth another crack at 1m in first-time cheekpieces. Posh Maisie can make her presence felt in her first handicap for Johnny Murtagh and Ben Coen.
I BID YOU AJOU returned to form when second at Gowran a month ago and he's well treated on the pick of his 2-y-o efforts, so he gets the nod over Zenato, who may have more to offer. Artful Approach is another definite player.
Though a soundly beaten runner-up on heavy ground at Gowran last time, I BID YOU AJOU will be more at home on this sounder surface.
Ths is the racecard key.
