(7) Macedonian King 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 80/1, ninth of 10 in nursery at Doncaster (6f, heavy) 9 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this polytrack debut. Best to look elsewhere.
Beaten at least 14l every outing; soft ground may not have helped in his two handicaps.

(4) Jakima 0.91/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 14/1, good third of 9 in nursery at Chester (7f, heavy) 8 days ago. Bold show likely off the same mark in what is undoubtedly a weaker race.

(3) Cherry Hill 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Pulled up in nursery (11/2) at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Showed ability prior to that but will probably need to improve for the switch to this surface if she's to emerge on top.

(6) Easel 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 28/1, ninth of 11 in minor event at Lingfield (6f, good) 27 days ago, not ideally placed. Yet to build on initial promise but perhaps this stiffer test will help her get back on track now that she makes her debut in a nursery.

(2) Fullofbrightideas 125/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, first run since leaving Martin Smith when last of 11 in minor event at Yarmouth (7f, good to firm) 74 days ago, slowly away. Readily passed over now pitched into a nursery.
Pedigree casts some doubt about him staying this far on handicap debut.
LTO Selection:

14:10 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Easel debuts in a nursery off a workable mark and, as a half-sister to an all-weather winner, she may improve now switched to a synthetic surface. There may also be more to come from Cherry Hill, whose latest start is worth forgiving as she never recovered after an early stumble. However, preference is for JAKIMA, who posted a solid effort when third in a deeper race at Chester.

JAKIMA looks the way to go on the back of her improved nursery debut third upped to 7f in a stronger race than this at Chester. The Kodiac filly is likely to benefit from this further step up in trip and she handled polytrack perfectly well when fourth on her introduction at Lingfield in June. Second choice is American Tale, who can be expected to step up on what he's shown in 3 qualifying runs, though Easel would also be a threat if able to belatedly build on her debut promise.

In a weak nursery it's difficult to see past JAKIMA. It was an improved run from her at Chester and this is weaker.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Rose Bolt was all out to win a fillies maiden at Bath last month and, although well very supported in the betting, there were anxious moments for her supporters near the finish. It will be tougher for her to make the running against more seasoned handicappers, with previous C&D winner LADY OF ARABIA standing out as one who can utilise her experience now she drops back in trip. Playupskyblues is also considered.

DAARREE made more impact than previously when third at Chelmsford on his handicap debut 20 days ago, despite having been denied a clear run, so he can build on his latest effort to get off the mark. Lady of Arabia also shaped well last time and could have more to offer back down in trip, while Garrick Street is another to consider.

Plenty with chances but APOLLO'S ANGEL was noticeably short in the betting for her handicap debut at Ffos Las and not a lot went right.

15:20 Kempton Maiden (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Sir Mark Prescott is noted for his meticulous approach with his youngsters and, while many of his tend to get better with experience, the master of Heath House is more than capable of readying a newcomer. The well-bred VALIDATED, whose dam is a half-sister to Infallible, a Group 3 winner over this trip, appears to be one who can rubber-stamp that theory. Majolica and Maith An Farhh are other interesting debutants.

The one who appeals most on paper is SECRET BID, who boasts a decent pedigree and represents a yard more than capable of readying one first time out. The hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. Character Testing and History Awaits are both of interest, while Maith An Farhh and Majolica are others to note in the betting.

Watch the market. As things stand, CHARACTER TESTING is preferred to Secret Bid.

15:55 Kempton Maiden (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

In a race full of unknown quantities, it might be worth taking a chance on LADY DE BATHE. Alice Haynes is no stranger to success in these types of contests and this Ribchester filly, whose dam is a half-sister to Lillie Langtry, makes plenty of appeal on paper. With that in mind, it would be no surprise were she to play a leading role at the first time of asking. Billiegee is from the first crop of Arc winner Waldgeist and she warrants a market check along with the Andrew Balding-trained Fernden Wells.

Choppy waters, with the field all juvenile debutantes, but FERNDEN WELLS ticks quite a few boxes and might be the one to side with. Lady de Bathe is another to consider, along with Billiegee.

Andrew Balding does well with his AW 2yos and the nicely bred FERNDEN WELLS is taken to make a winning debut.

Coming on well until failing to land any sort of blow upped to this trip at Carlisle.

16:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

DAPHNE MAY arrives having notched up two Epsom victories either side of a good second at Newbury. The daughter of Mayson should have no problem with the return to an artificial surface and past exploits would suggest she can cope with a further 3lb rise in the handicap. Mildyjama was perhaps a little disappointing when a beaten favourite at Pontefract last month but she retains potential and could go well from her low draw, while Sainte Colette appeals most of the remainder.

DAPHNE MAY made it 2 wins from her last 3 starts with a cosy success at Epsom 11 days ago and she can score again in her current form. The biggest threat could come from Mildyjama, who shaped as if this step up in trip would suit last time, with Sainte Colette completing the shortlist.

Ralph Beckett's MILDYJAMA (nap) is a 3yo heading in the right direction and promises to improve again for this longer trip.

LTO Selection:

17:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Arcadian Friend romped to success in an amateur riders' event at Chelmsford six days ago and, though respected under a 5lb penalty, BUNKER BAY is preferred. Having won over an extended 1m3f at Yarmouth on his penultimate start, the son of Australia looked outpaced when filling the runner-up spot over 1m6f at Sandown later that month. He enters uncharted territory with regards to trip, but that effort would suggest it might see him to greater effect. Others to note include Masterdream, Bodygroove and Devizes.

ARCADIAN FRIEND was an emphatic winner at Chelmsford 6 days ago and he can defy a penalty with the return to this longer distance to suit. Sir Mark Prescott's 4-y-o is taken to get the better of the in-form Bunker Bay, while Solution remains with potential upped significantly in trip.

Few are less exposed than BODYGROOVE, who is on an upward curve after breaking his duck at Wolverhampton and can defy a 4lb rise.
