17:25 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

DASHING DONKEY made an excellent start to life in handicap company when beaten a short head at Yarmouth. Raised 2lb, the son of Time Test is entitled to step forward and gets the nod in a contest that appears to be competitive for the grade. True Blue Gent's runner-up efforts over C&D in the winter would give him an obvious chance, and he has been gelded since his last appearance. Baroque Buoy, City Of Delight and handicap debutant New Kings Road are others likely to enter the reckoning.

MEET ME IN MERAKI found testing conditions well up his street when winning at Bath last time but had taken a step forward on the all-weather on his prior outing and a chance is taken that he'll progress again returned to a synthetic surface. City of Delight did well under the circumstances at Goodwood last time and is shortlisted, alongside Baroque Buoy.

The vote goes to BAROQUE BUOY, ahead of Meet Me In Meraki and True Blue Gent.

18:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

It will be interesting to see if the market speaks in favour of Nap Hand, who proved to be very competitive in a brace of nurseries here in November 2022. Absent since, the booking of Oisin Murphy may well be a positive sign that a big run is expected, but the vote goes to DREAM OF MISCHIEF. He won on the all-weather at Lingfield in September 2022 and has been narrowly denied on his two subsequent starts on a synthetic surface, including over C&D latest when sporting a first-time hood (retained). Lakota Brave and Game Set appeal most of the remainder.

This could go the way of LAKOTA BRAVE who has progressed with each of his 4 starts so far, faring best of the pair who helped to force the pace when runner-up at Bath last month. He can see off the challenge of Game Set, who remains with potential as he makes his return.

This looks treacherous but BOTAS may be able to reverse latest placings with five of today's rivals. Rhythm N Rock is next best.

18:30 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Spiritualism displayed plenty of speed on her debut when fourth at Saint-Cloud and is entitled to step forward. Deal Maker won on her introduction at Southwell before finishing third at the same venue, but may find life tough giving 5lb and upwards to the opposition. DOLLY'S DELIGHT makes plenty of appeal on paper, being a half-sister to a winning debutant, and the 60,000-euro purchase could be worth chancing for a stable that recently had their first juvenile winner of the year.

PAINT THE TOWN RED looks the way to go on the back of her recent Wolverhampton second with further improvement on the cards for Richard Spencer's filly. Newcomer Yala is bred to be abover average and could emerge as the pick of the debutantes ahead of Southwell-scorer Deal Maker.

Spiritualism looks best of those to have run but Yala and DOLLY'S DELIGHT are newcomers of some interest on breeding.

19:00 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

BENGURION struck at the first time of asking over 6f at Lingfield in October and she now takes a step up in trip under Oisin Murphy. The daughter of Invincible Army is well drawn in stall two and should have plenty more to offer, so she can defy her 7lb penalty. Eternal Spring improved on her debut effort to reach the frame over C&D earlier in the month and she could have a say, while any market confidence behind Pipes And Drums would be interesting.

BENGURION knew what was required to make a winning debut at Lingfield 6 months ago, and with improvement on the cards, Charlie Johnston's filly gets the nod to make it 2-2 at the expense of debutant Pipes And Drums, who makes plenty of paper appeal for the Gosdens. Eternal Spring can edge out Harvard Sound for third spot.

The Gosden newcomer Pipes And Drums is respected but preference is for the experience of BENGURION after her 6f win in October.

19:30 Kempton Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SMOULDERING produced a big effort to finish second on her introduction at Wolverhampton, despite showing plenty of inexperience, and she could take a sizeable step forward from that display. Clive Cox's filly looks the one to be on, with her main danger possibly newcomer Drumstick, who is related to plenty of winners and it would be no surprise to see him feature on his first outing. Of the remainder, Sedgemoor makes most appeal based on his debut second at Salisbury last year.

SMOULDERING found herself behind through early greenness on debut but ended the race with a flourish and can go one better this time. Masterofgreygoose also showed ability to reach the frame at Chelmsford on his debut and is open to improvement, whilst Drumstick is a highly respected debutant for the Andrew Balding yard.

Drumstick is the most appealing newcomer but SMOULDERING can step forward from her promising Wolverhampton debut.

20:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

BRASIL POWER put in a bold display to fill the runner-up spot over a mile here last month and has been put up 2lb for that performance. George Boughey's five-year-old takes a step down in trip, which can eke out the improvement needed to go one better. Rajindri very rarely runs a bad race and her comeback second at Yarmouth gives her a big chance in this contest, while Akkadian Thunder is another to take seriously after his triumph at Newcastle.

RAJINDRI ended last season in good form and picked up where she left off when runner-up to an unexposed 3-y-o at Yarmouth on her return, so she is taken to record a second C&D success. Giant has been running well this year, only narrowly denied at this venue on his latest outing, so he could be the main danger, ahead of Brasil Power.

Zero Carbon is a major player under ideal conditions but the unexposed AKKADIAN THUNDER (nap) may have his measure today.

20:30 Kempton Handicap (Class 3) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

DAVIDEO is taken to go well for an in-form yard. He has a 222-day absence to overcome but did win first time out last season at Newmarket and is now just 3lb higher than his last winning mark. Ralph Beckett's gelding remains lightly raced and performed well on his only previous all-weather start at this track in November 2022. Dual course winner Liseo is feared most back at this venue, while Artisan Dancer is a must for the shortlist with Oisin Murphy booked.

LISEO, who seems much better on all-weather than turf, looks the pick. Artisan Dancer and Appier can fight out minor honours.

Ralph Beckett's DAVIDEO has been too all or nothing for comfort but it's interesting that his powerful connections go again as a 4yo.

21:00 Kempton Handicap (Class 6) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Global Tycoon arrives at the top of his game and is reunited with Oisin Murphy after they went agonisingly close at Wolverhampton, while Federated enters calculations off just 3lb higher than last month's 1m2f Newcastle win. However, ARTAVIAN is unexposed at this level and from a workable mark of just 62, the Patrick Chamings-trained gelding holds the most intrigue on just his second start in a handicap, especially after he went so well for third over 1m3f here.

FEDERATED is easily one of the least exposed and showed improved form in line with the step up in trip when opening his account at Newcastle 5 weeks ago. Open to further progress with his stamina now tested a little more, he could be the the answer. Artavian is another low-mileage sort and is feared, with Global Tycoon and the returning Assembled next best.

Despite the stamina query over a new trip FEDERATED can continue to progress at the main expense of Global Tycoon.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
