|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (13/2 +7%) Spirited Dancer |
13/2(+7%) | (6) Spirited Dancer 13/2, Foaled April 5. 22,000 gns yearling, Dandy Man filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful winner up to 8.6f Asdaa and 2-y-o 1m winner Revestar. 22,000gns yearling; trainer had 2yo newcomer run well on Monday; consider. |

3rd (8) (9/1 +25%) Washington Dancer |
9/1(+25%) | (8) Washington Dancer 9/1, Foaled February 22. 3,500 gns yearling, Washington DC filly. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart 2-y-o 5f-1m winner Hearts of Fire. Needs a market check with Rossa Ryan booked. Worth a look in the betting but some of the other newcomers appeal more at this stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/2 -75%) Theatrically |
7/2(-75%) | (7) Theatrically 7/2, Offered something to work on amid inexperience when fifth of 15 in Brocklesby at Doncaster (5f, heavy) on debut 18 days ago, running on. Likely to improve. Sets form standard on Brocklesby fifth but some of the newcomers are interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (15/2 -7%) Lady Dorchester |
15/2(-7%) | (4) Lady Dorchester 15/2, Ran to just a similar level as on debut when fourth of 6 in maiden at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 9/2) 9 days ago, not ideally placed. Just a small step forward when again finishing fourth last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (33/1 -371%) Boro Queen |
33/1(-371%) | (2) Boro Queen 33/1, 22/1, held back by inexperience when sixth of 7 in minor event at Southwell (5f) on debut 10 days ago, keeping on late. Should improve. Showed a bit in the face of greenness on Southwell debut ten days ago; needs more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (28/1 +30%) Bluesy Moon |
28/1(+30%) | (1) Bluesy Moon 28/1, Foaled April 16. Ardad filly. Half-sister to 6f winner Miss Moonshine. Dam unraced. Trainer just 1-86 with 2yos last five years; likely needs more time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (11/2 -38%) Rosy Hope |
11/2(-38%) | (5) Rosy Hope 11/2, Foaled March 30. Dark Angel filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including smart winner up to 6f Nomadic Empire and 5f winner Imperial Khan. Dam maiden (stayed 7f). Noteworthy newcomer. Trainer does pretty well with 2yos and this one has plenty to recommend her. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ROSY HOPE makes a considerable amount of appeal being a half-sister to Nomadic Empire, who was Listed-placed as a two-year-old, and she represents a yard that did particularly well with their juveniles in the early part of last season. Kodibeat boasts a sharp pedigree and commands respect on her first career start, while Theatrically may have benefited from her debut when fifth in the Brocklesby.
ROSY HOPE makes plenty of appeal on paper being a half-sister to smart sprinter Nomadic Empire, so she gets the nod to make a successful start to her career. Theatrically shaped with promise amidst inexperience in the Brocklesby at Doncaster and is likely to improve, with Kodibeat another interesting newcomer.
Newcomers ROSY HOPE, Kodibeat and Spirited Dancer are preferred in that order without having the betting to guide.

King's Conquest |
(2) (80/1 -21%)80/1(-21%) | (2) King's Conquest 80/1, Last of 7 in minor event at this course (7f, 9/1) on debut 70 days ago. Too green to do himself justice on debut and looks one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (7) (8/11 +47%) Jayyash |
8/11(+47%) | (7) Jayyash 8/11, Twice-raced maiden. Second of 12 in maiden (8/13) at Southwell (7.1f) 27 days ago, running on. One to consider. Tad disappointing so far given his price tag but this extra furlong might help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/4 -20%) Goodwood Odyssey |
9/4(-20%) | (4) Goodwood Odyssey 9/4, Promising type who won 10-runner minor event at Salisbury (8f, heavy, 20/1) on debut, missing break. Off 6 months. Sets a high standard. Came from last to first despite battling greenness at Salisbury in October; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (8/1 -60%) Approved Star |
8/1(-60%) | (6) Approved Star 8/1, 40,000 gns foal, £200,000 yearling, Dark Angel colt. Half-brother to several winners, including 2-y-o 1m winner Kocna and 1½m winner Reina Del Mar, both useful. Noteworthy newcomer. £200,000 yearling; worth monitoring closely in the betting on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (7/1 -75%) American Riddle |
7/1(-75%) | (5) American Riddle 7/1, 70,000 gns yearling, U S Navy Flag colt. Half-brother to several winners, including smart 6f winner Tabdeed and winner up to 9f Glengarra. Interesting. Owner/trainer had 3yo win on debut at Chelmsford on Saturday; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (100/1 -52%) Voix De Bocelli |
100/1(-52%) | (3) Voix De Bocelli 100/1, 250/1, modest third of 4 in minor event at Lingfield (10f, AW) on flat debut 6 days ago, slowly away. Lots more is needed. Huge prices when pulled up over hurdles and beaten over 9l into third of four on the Flat. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (80/1 +20%) Golden Arc |
80/1(+20%) | (9) Golden Arc 80/1, Tenth of 14 in maiden at this course (7f, 100/1) on debut. Off 7 months. Is related to plenty of winners but looks a longer-term prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (28/1 -75%) Veer |
28/1(-75%) | (8) Veer 28/1, Twice-raced maiden. 7/2, seventh of 9 in minor event at Haydock (7f, soft). Off 8 months. First run for yard after leaving Charles Hills. Hooded for 1st time. Starts out for new yard but looks one for another day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (200/1 -100%) Warrior Tune |
200/1(-100%) | (10) Warrior Tune 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. Last of 8 in minor event (150/1) at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 32 days ago. Yet to beat a rival and remains best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (125/1 -89%) Hill Spirit |
125/1(-89%) | (1) Hill Spirit 125/1, Fair winner at 16f over hurdles. 33/1, last of 10 in maiden at this C&D on flat debut 7 days ago, very slowly away. Blew the start and failed to beat a rival when 33-1 for Flat debut over C&D last week. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
There was a lot to like about GOODWOOD ODYSSEY's debut success at Salisbury because he did plenty wrong. The son of Ulysses is expected to have learned plenty from that initial experience and gets the vote to make a winning return. Jayyash still displayed signs of greenness when runner-up at Southwell and is capable of taking another step forward. Approved Star, a 200,000-pound purchase at the Goffs UK Premier sale in August 2022, and American Riddle are a pair of newcomers who could be of interest.
GOODWOOD ODYSSEY looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Salisbury last autumn and is fancied to return in style at the chief expense of newcomers American Riddle and Approved Star who are both in good hands and appeal on paper. Jayyash completes the shortlist.
He'll probably need a couple more furlongs before long but GOODWOOD ODYSSEY is taken to defy a penalty before going on to better things.

Raimunda |
(8) (17/2 -6%)17/2(-6%) | (8) Raimunda 17/2, Off the mark at the third attempt at Haydock (8f) last year. However, ran below that level when fifth of 6 in handicap at the same C&D (heavy, 10/3) in August. Could still have more to offer on her return. Interesting to see what the market makes of her back from 248 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (5) (5/1 +58%) Ernie's Valentine |
5/1(+58%) | (5) Ernie's Valentine 5/1, Course winner. Latest win at Wolverhampton in December. Has remained in decent heart this year, racing wide when seventh of 12 in handicap (11/1) at the same course (9.5f) 61 days ago. Back down to his last winning mark. Return to this track is a plus and he's back on his last winning mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (13/2 -30%) Brasil Power |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Brasil Power 13/2, Gained a second course victory (both at 7f) with success in September last year. However, lesser effort when seventh of 11 in handicap (8/1) here on his final outing. Back up in trip on his return (has had a wind op). All three wins off breaks of 70 days or more; has undergone wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (17/2 -6%) Cavalluccio |
17/2(-6%) | (9) Cavalluccio 17/2, Resumed winning ways at Chelmsford City in January and has continued in good form since, third of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 12/1) 46 days ago. On a career-high mark but he's not discounted. In peak form this year and looks worth another crack at this stiff mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 +11%) Hiromichi |
4/1(+11%) | (1) Hiromichi 4/1, After 5 months off, proved better than ever when winning 8-runner handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 17/2) 5 days ago. Enters calculations under a penalty. Lots to like if sole course run can be forgiven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (4/1 -33%) Elladonna |
4/1(-33%) | (11) Elladonna 4/1, Dropped back in trip, opened her account in 13-runner event on her handicap debut at this C&D (6/4) in December. Major player with better still to come this year. Could easily defy a 4lb higher mark starting out as 4yo, for all that she's drawn widest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (13/2 +46%) Darwell Lion |
13/2(+46%) | (3) Darwell Lion 13/2, C&D winner. Not in the same form as previous outing when tenth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 14/1) 12 days ago. Capable if on a going day as he drops in grade. C&D winner who is threatening a revival and yard is in form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (33/1 -106%) Gavi Di Gavi |
33/1(-106%) | (6) Gavi Di Gavi 33/1, Course winner. Followed a good run at this C&D with a below-par one when seventh of 8 in handicap (9/1) 42 days ago. Needs to leave his latest effort well behind. Finished behind either Ernie's Valentine or Lady Of Arabia on last three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (14/1 -75%) Dynamic Talent |
14/1(-75%) | (10) Dynamic Talent 14/1, Back to his best when winning here last month. Shaped as if still in form when fourth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 13/8) only a day later, keeping on having been very slowly away. Can give his running again. Back up the handicap and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (66/1 -230%) Silastar |
66/1(-230%) | (12) Silastar 66/1, C&D winner who recorded back-to-back victories at Leicester and Sandown last year. However, after 6 months off he ran poorly when last of 8 in handicap (14/1) at this C&D 35 days ago. Others more persuasive. Will probably need them to go very hard up front to have a winning chance kept to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (150/1 -355%) Dornoch Castle |
150/1(-355%) | (7) Dornoch Castle 150/1, Didn't look straightforward when sixth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (8f, AW, 20/1) 62 days ago, carrying head awkwardly. Others preferred as he makes first run for yard after leaving Charlie Johnston. New yard had a winner with a recent recruit last week but this one might be best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ELLADONNA clearly needed time to develop and rewarded her trainer's patience when justifying strong market support on her handicap bow over C&D in December. The drop in trip also appeared to bring about improvement and a 4lb rise doesn't look to be particularly harsh. Hiromichi's 5lb penalty for his Lingfield victory on Friday is negated by George Bass taking 3lb off so he has to enter calculations. Brasil Power and Lady Of Arabia appeal most of the remainder.
ELLADONNA confirmed her previous promise when winning at this C&D on her handicap debut in December and, with further improvement to come, she can pick up where she left off to score again. Hiromichi added to his tally at Lingfield on his return and is respected under a penalty, while 3-time C&D winner Lady of Arabia is also considered.
The form of Ruth Carr's yard swings the vote in favour of DARWELL LION over Ernie's Valentine.

1st (2) (15/2 +0%) Mr Baloo |
15/2(+0%) | (2) Mr Baloo 15/2, Latest win at Epsom in October. 7/1, creditable third of 9 in nursery at Newmarket (7f, good to soft). Off 179 days. 2-10 at two; probably needs to pull out a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (2/1 +60%) Berkshire Nugget |
2/1(+60%) | (4) Berkshire Nugget 2/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 15/8, last of 4 in minor event at Chester (6.1f, soft). Off 6 months. Hood on 1st time. Makes handicap debut. Should have more to offer. Several factors, including switch to handicaps and a gelding operation, could eke out more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 -200%) Von Baer |
6/1(-200%) | (1) Von Baer 6/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 7/1, third of 9 in minor event at Salisbury (6f, heavy). Off 6 months. Makes handicap debut. Open to progress. Improver in RPR terms at two; very much looks the type to do well in handicaps this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7/2 -17%) Jackson Street |
7/2(-17%) | (3) Jackson Street 7/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form third of 10 in minor event (9/4) at Southwell (7.1f). Off 96 days. Makes polytrack debut. Makes handicap debut. Not straightforward but may have a bigger effort in him. Slight blip last time (wandered) but he could get back on track in this handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/4 +0%) Silver Trumpet |
11/4(+0%) | (5) Silver Trumpet 11/4, C&D winner. 15/2, career best when winning 11-runner handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 13 days ago. Getting better with each recent run. Up total of just 6lb for two wins and could still be ahead of the assessor. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Von Baer is respected but doesn't look particularly well treated for his handicap debut, while Jackson Street and Berkshire Nugget both need to improve to shake off their maiden status. Already a dual 7f winner, the consistent MR BALOO drops back down in class and with Alec Voikhansky claiming a valuable 5lb, the Richard Hannon-trained colt can make a flying start to his three-year-old campaign. The hat-trick seeking Silver Trumpet is feared most, despite going up 4lb for his latest win.
SILVER TRUMPET is progressive and showed a willing attitude when scoring at Southwell last time, so he gets the vote over Von Baer, who shaped well at Salisbury on his final juvenile outing. Jackson Street is also considered in what should be a tightly-knit affair.
Silver Trumpet bids for a hat-trick and has fitness on his side but VON BAER (nap) looks capable of foiling him.

1st (1) (8/11 +58%) Going The Distance |
8/11(+58%) | (1) Going The Distance 8/11, Made it back-to-back wins with a decisive success in 6-runner minor event at Nottingham (8.3f, heavy, 11/8) when last seen in October (gelded since). Leading contender up in trip for his handicap bow. Doesn't look short of speed but should stay this far; the one to beat on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/1 -10%) True Wisdom |
11/1(-10%) | (2) True Wisdom 11/1, Winner at Newmarket last summer, but raced too freely when last of 4 in minor event at Epsom (8.5f, good to firm, 7/2) in October. Needs to resume her progress upped in trip for her seasonal/handicap debut. Has potential over new trip but will need to settle better than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (15/2 -233%) Billiegee |
15/2(-233%) | (6) Billiegee 15/2, After 6 months off, shaped well when second of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 17/2) 26 days ago, despite needing stiffer test. Not taken lightly with further improvement to come as she steps up in trip. Almost certain to appreciate this further rise in trip; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 -29%) Cloud Free |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Cloud Free 9/2, After 8 months off, got back on track when second of 12 in minor event at this course (8f, 28/1) 28 days ago. One to note as he goes handicapping over this longer distance. Hope for this longer trip on breeding and he's one to note starting out in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (11/1 -22%) Torrent |
11/1(-22%) | (5) Torrent 11/1, Hasn't progressed in his 2 starts so far this year, last of 5 on handicap debut at Southwell (11.1f, 4/1) 43 days ago. Needs to find more as he switches to polytrack. It's too soon to write him off but he's probably best watched today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (18/1 -29%) Dr Foster |
18/1(-29%) | (3) Dr Foster 18/1, Opened his account at this course (8f) in October. However, below form fifth of 6 in handicap back here (7f, 11/1) 2 weeks ago. Others make more appeal as he tries this distance for the first time. Has run eight times and has enough to prove up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GOING THE DISTANCE looked a bright prospect when winning two of his three starts as a juvenile and could to be hard to beat if stepping up in trip initiates further progress. Reunited with Rossa Ryan, who was in the saddle when he justified favouritism in a novice event at Nottingham when last seen, trainer Ralph Beckett has taken steps to ensure continuity for the now-gelded son of Lope De Vega and he sets a good standard on his handicap debut. True Wisdom and Cloud Free complete the shortlist.
GOING THE DISTANCE looked a useful prospect when scoring at Nottingham on his final start last year, well on top at the finish, and he can continue his progress to land the hat-trick on his handicap debut. He is taken to get the better of Billiegee, who shaped as if this longer trip should suit on her latest outing, with Cloud Free the pick of the remainder.
There are reasons to believe that Ralph Beckett's GOING THE DISTANCE can go on improving switched to handicaps at three.

7/2(-5%) | (4) Cinnodin 7/2, Four wins from 10 runs last year. 4/1, creditable third of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (18f, good to soft). Respected if ready to roll after 6-month absence. Lots to like on his return, not least stable form; cheekpieces are left off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/1 -22%) Zoran |
11/1(-22%) | (2) Zoran 11/1, Below form when fifth of 8 in handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (14f) 37 days ago, slowly away. Others have achieved more. Definite claims if in the mood but he has a bit to prove after latest effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (3/1 +0%) Red Flyer |
3/1(+0%) | (1) Red Flyer 3/1, C&D winner. Latest win here in January. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Lingfield (15.8f, AW, 8/1) 12 days ago, going well when no room 2f out. Holding form well at present and should give another good account. Shaped as if still in form when not getting the breaks at Lingfield on Good Friday. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 -11%) Moel Arthur |
5/1(-11%) | (3) Moel Arthur 5/1, Shaped as if retaining all ability after a 21-month absence when creditable second of 7 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, not ideally placed. Shortlist material. Major claims if turning up in the same form as last time (when back from 623 days off). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (4/1 -45%) The Craftymaster |
4/1(-45%) | (5) The Craftymaster 4/1, Rapid improver this winter, notching his seventh win since mid-December in a 6-runner handicap at Newcastle (16.2f) 18 days ago. That rated as a career best and there's no reason why he shouldn't go well again. Could easily make it eight wins from his last nine starts, with long straight a plus. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/2 +47%) Simiyann |
9/2(+47%) | (6) Simiyann 9/2, Ex-French gelding ran well when beaten only a short head at Wolverhampton in January. Seemed unsuited by conditions when pulled up on hurdles debut last time and he could well bounce back returned to the Flat. Three good runs from three at around 2m on Flat for this yard; considered. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
It is hard to look past THE CRAFTYMASTER, who had a subsequent winner behind him in third when making it seven victories from his last eight starts at Newcastle and, nudged up a further 4lb, he gets the vote to show his rivals the way home once more. Moel Arthur was the subject of some market support when second over C&D on his return from a prolonged absence and he cannot be dismissed, although the bounce factor has to be a slight concern. The class-dropping Red Flyer should find this company more manageable than when finishing fifth at Lingfield on Good Friday.
An interesting heat despite the small field, with the prolific THE CRAFTYMASTER taken to extend his outstanding run of form and make it 8 wins from his last 9 starts. Moel Arthur shaped with plenty of encouragement on his comeback from a lengthy absence last time and could prove the biggest threat, with the consistent Red Flyer also considered.
Much the most reliable betting proposition is THE CRAFTYMASTER who can make it eight wins from his last nine starts.

13/2(+41%) | (2) Mrs Twig 13/2, Respectable sixth of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Wolverhampton (12.2f). Off 6 months. Makes polytrack debut. Others still appeal as better treated. Probably up to taking a race of this nature but has a 190-day break to overcome. |

9/1(+18%) | (4) Beau Vintage 9/1, 22/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 61 days ago. Blinkers back on. Edging down weights but others make greater appeal on recent form. One good run and one bad run over 1m4f; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (11/2 -10%) Devizes |
11/2(-10%) | (9) Devizes 11/2, C&D winner. 10/1, creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, finishing with running left after meeting trouble in home straight. Now 5 lb below last winning mark and could be worth chancing. Same mark as when winning this last year and could be poised for a repeat. |

9/2(+10%) | (5) Fravanco 9/2, Again ran well when second of 9 in handicap at this C&D 42 days ago, despite being trapped wider than ideal. Solid claims again. High marks for consistency and very much bumped into one over C&D six weeks ago. |

7th (3) (9/2 +55%) Mr Boson |
9/2(+55%) | (3) Mr Boson 9/2, Good second here on penultimate outing but only seventh of 8 in handicap (4/1) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 39 days ago. Hood on 1st time. Needs to bounce back. Well capable of taking this but did check out quickly last time. |

8th (6) (3/1 +50%) Nivelle's Magic |
3/1(+50%) | (6) Nivelle's Magic 3/1, Three wins from 11 runs last year. Latest win at Lingfield in November. 15/2, respectable fourth of 13 in handicap at this C&D 28 days ago, not entirely seen to best effect after having missed break and raced wide. Has to be taken seriously with better draw this time. Won three of her last six which counts for a lot at Class 6 level. |

9th (12) (80/1 -567%) Cloudy Rose |
80/1(-567%) | (12) Cloudy Rose 80/1, Landed hat-trick last summer but generally below-par efforts towards end of 2023. Bit to prove on return from 6-month absence. Rather watch in this AW contest for all she probably won't be lacking for fitness. |

10th (11) (16/1 -60%) Big Jimbo |
16/1(-60%) | (11) Big Jimbo 16/1, C&D winner. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, fourth of 7 in handicap at Chelmsford City (14f, 7/2). Has a solid record on all-weather and wouldn't be taken lightly if primed after 152 days off. Has the form to play a part if fully tuned up. |

11th (13) (40/1 -233%) Alioski |
40/1(-233%) | (13) Alioski 40/1, Good third of 12 in handicap at this course (11f) 35 days ago. Cheekpieces back on but probably needs a couple of these to falter racing from just out of the weights. No forlorn hope on his course third five weeks ago but qualifies for 0-50s. |

12th (7) (50/1 -456%) Be Fair |
50/1(-456%) | (7) Be Fair 50/1, C&D winner. 6/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (15.8f, AW). Off 13 months. Down in trip. First run for yard after leaving Tony Carroll. Market should guide. In good form when last seen over a year ago; highly likely best watched for new yard here. |

13th (10) (40/1 -186%) Asense |
40/1(-186%) | (10) Asense 40/1, Three wins from 7 runs last year. Latest win at Bath in October. 40/1, respectable fourth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (12f, AW) 34 days ago. Others more persuasive. Turf hat-trick last summer/autumn and return fourth at Lingfield was pleasing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Punters will need to be in a forgiving mood to side with MR BOSON, but it might pay to do so. Hughie Morrison's charge weakened to finish down the field at Wolverhampton but, prior to that, he was an excellent second in a higher grade at Kempton and he sports a hood for the first time now. Fravanco has hit the woodwork on his last couple of starts and races off his last winning mark, while Be Fair is a strong stayer and if the early fractions are brisk, he can play a part.
DEVIZES is on an eye-catching mark and surely would've finished closer than fifth granted more luck in running over C&D last month, so gets the verdict over Fravanco, who was beaten only by one on a roll here last time. Nivelle's Magic also shaped well when finishing one place ahead of the selection last time and is another to merit respect.
Slight preference is for last year's winner DEVIZES over Nivelle's Magic. They finished fifth and fourth in a C&D handicap recently.
Ths is the racecard key.
