14:05 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

The Wise Traveller is twice a course and distance winner, having scored in February and November 2023, but off lower marks. He can go well with Jamie Gambin claiming 10lb off his back, but may struggle to get the better of THE BOLD THADY. The selection won narrowly at Fontwell last time under the same jockey, despite being repeatedly hampered, and an extra 4lb may not stop him now. Mistral Blue steps up in trip and is of some interest assuming she stays.

The step up in trip should suit ENDOFCONVERSATION, who offered more here last time and remains low mileage. The Bold Thady isn't straightforward but rates the chief threat nonetheless.

He was a disappointment over fences but OFF TO A FLYER has a touch of class about him and could be hard to beat back over hurdles.

14:40 Huntingdon Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

REALISTIC OPTIMISM has been off the track since his half-length second in a Listowel bumper in September 2022 and his hurdling debut is eagerly anticipated on his first start for Jamie Snowden. Cusano let favourite backers down when fourth at Ludlow after some sketchy hurdling but is expected to have learned from that making him a big danger, while Zodiac Star is an alternative to the more obvious suggestions.

CUSANO underperformed on hurdling debut at Ludlow but he showed plenty on the Flat and is in good hands, so he's worth a chance to improve on that and open his account over hurdles. Realistic Optimism is a threat despite a lengthy absence and Ikigai Star isn't one to rule out.

This hurdling debut comes after a long absence but REALISTIC OPTIMISM looked very promising in Irish bumpers in 2022.

15:15 Huntingdon Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Chess Player won this last year under Beau Morgan, but he has to race off 10lb higher in the handicap and his jockey claims 2lb less than he could in 2023. He can still go well in this small field, but a chance is taken on the less experienced BREAKING COVER. Second on his chasing debut at Southwell, the six-year-old was going well before falling three out at Taunton and could make amends now. Great Samourai and Fanfan Du Seuil are others to at least consider.

If BREAKING COVER is none the worse for his Taunton spill he looks the one beat. Great Samourai can extend his run of good efforts for his new stable and fill the forecast spot ahead of last year's winner Chess Player.

Set to be involved in the shake-up before falling in the home straight at Taunton last month, BREAKING COVER can get compensation here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Although unable to complete a double when staying on into third over an extended 2m2f at Stratford earlier this month, GARITSA BAY posted a respectable effort in defeat on that occasion. Ian Williams' charge should relish this rise in distance and compensation could await. The biggest danger may emerge from Warner's Cross, who was only beaten a length on his reappearance third at Market Rasen recently, while C&D scorer Wrong Way Harry lurks on an attractive mark.

SMALL BAD BOB bumped into a much-improved rival from the Paul Nicholls yard when runner-up at Plumpton recently and, on the assumption that Mr Hope Street doesn't go to post, he gets the nod. Far Sight and Garitsa Bay rate the main dangers but Warner's Cross is also worth a second look.

Far Sight and Garitsa Bay are respected but the nod goes to WARNERS CROSS after a highly encouraging return.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Hamartia is sure to prove popular after her respectable runner-up effort at Ffos Las earlier this month and Neil Mulholland's mare must enter calculations. Preference, however, is for OUR BILL'S AUNT. The eight-year-old stayed on encouragingly from the rear to finish second on her chase bow at Market Rasen recently and she could find enough improvement to land a race of this nature. Moon Eagle is also likely to feature in these calmer waters.

16:55 Huntingdon Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SALVATORE put his odds-on defeat at Plumpton in March behind him when landing the spoils at Kempton the following month. The gelded son of Helmet appeared to score with something in hand and a 5lb rise in the ratings is unlikely to be the ceiling of his ability. Fellow last-time-out winner Ez Tiger is the biggest danger, ahead of Sanitiser, who has posted a creditable second at Hereford since finishing in third behind the selection at the Surrey venue.

SALVATORE belatedly showed more like his Flat form faced with less testing conditions when getting off the mark in this sphere at Kempton 5 weeks ago and with improvement on the cards, Harry Derham's charge appeals as the type who could well run up a sequence. Another couple of last-time-out winners King Otis and Ez Tiger can chase him home in that order.

It's likely there's plenty more to come from SALVATORE (nap) who should be hard to beat. Sanitiser is next best.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK.
