14:00 Hereford Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

PYFFO scored readily over an extended 2m4f at Market Rasen on his penultimate start before being collared close home by a subsequent winner in a Warwick handicap most recently. Pitched back into novice company, he can return to winning ways. Point-to-point winner Backinaction showed enough when finishing fourth on his second start under Rules last month to suggest that he can be competitive in a race of this nature, while Locken Lady also commands attention, though the step up in trip asks a question of her.

It's hard to look beyond PYFFO, who opened his account over hurdles at Market Rasen in March and found only a subsequent winner too strong at Warwick last month. He can regain the winning thread at the expense of Backinaction, who left his hurdling debut form well behind when fourth at Taunton recently and could well take another step forward. Locken Lady, who has finished runner-up twice in this sphere already, completes the shortlist.

The most obvious answer is PYFFO, who followed his wide-margin maiden win in March with a good handicap second last month.

14:30 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Lightly raced for her age, the step up in trip may prove the key to LIGHTFOOT LADY. Nicky Henderson's seven-year-old was last seen finishing third behind a potentially useful sort at Doncaster in February, and she shades preference over this extra yardage on her handicap debut. Paddy De Pole arrives on a hat-trick and commands the utmost respect, for all that a career-high mark poses a question to him, while Leylak rates as a fascinating contender sporting first-time cheekpieces on his stable debut.

PADDY DE POLE is improving nicely for his leading yard and, up just 2 lb for Wincanton, the hat-trick beckons. Lightfoot Lady also upped her game last time and this mark ought to be within range given she won a bumper, with Mamoon Star another to consider back from a break.

Handicap debutante LIGHTFOOT LADY kept on nicely for third on her latest outing and can improve again over this longer trip.

15:05 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 21f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

IMPERIAL BEDE was last seen finishing a creditable second in a tactically-run affair at Southwell and, eased 2lb for that performance, it would be no surprise if he were able to go one place better this time. Imac Wood had a legitimate excuse when pulling up in a similar contest at Fakenham in February and is better judged on his January C&D success. Cartonne looked a progressive handicap chaser to follow when notching up two victories in the winter. However, that improvement appears to have plateaued and he may have to settle for minor honours.

FIX IT ALL figures off a handy mark and made an encouraging return from a break at Fontwell last month. He gets the nod in a tricky-looking contest. Hall Lane and Cartonne can also make their presence felt.

Top of the list is IMPERIAL BEDE (nap), who has dropped 3lb since his creditable fourth at Sandown two starts ago.

15:35 Hereford Handicap Chase (Class 4) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A 72-day break and a switch to fences appeared to revitalise last month's C&D scorer Brianna Rose and is sure to remain competitive off only 3lb higher. However, last-time-out Taunton winner ANNIE WICKS has more scope for improvement in this sphere and Evan Williams' mare is taken to defy an 8lb higher mark. Dicey Rielly stood little chance in a Listed hurdle at Perth in April and the seven-year-old also warrants a second look on her return to chasing.

It could just be worth siding with DICEY RILEY who boasts a good strike rate over fences and she ought to be all the better for her stiff reappearance assignment over hurdles at Perth 3 weeks ago. Whatsdastory, returned to a soundner surface, is another to consider, with Annie Wicks and the returning Ma Belle Noire, on chase debut, also worth a look.

The suggestion is I AM GONNA BE, who drops in grade after travelling well for a long way at Cheltenham last month.

16:05 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

KICK UP A STORM had little difficulty in dispatching a subsequent winner when opening his account on his handicap bow at Exeter last month. Although Paul Nicholls' charge does have a 11lb hike in the handicap to contend with, he is likely to prove a warm order to follow up. The biggest threat may be posed by Face D'music, who finished a close-up second at Ffos Las on Tuesday, while Behind The Curtain may fare best of the remainder.

KICK UP A STORM was much improved in first-time cheekpieces when making a successful handicap debut at Exeter and he's fancied to go in again at the likely expense of Face d'Music, who arrives on the back of a solid showing. Soldier of Destiny should benefit from the return to hurdling, so he can't be ruled out.

Far too good for a next-time-out winner when scoring on his recent handicap debut, KICK UP A STORM could still be on a very good mark.

(4) Got Grey 14/1, Modest maiden hurdler in Ireland for Gavin Cromwell but showed promise for new yard when fourth of 14 in novice at Taunton (16.5f, soft) last month. This mark looks fair but improvement will be needed if he's to open his account here.
Belied huge odds when fourth in useful Taunton novice on last month's stable debut.

16:35 Hereford Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although there is room for improvement in the jumping department, the hat-trick seeking GOLDEN MAVERICK is hard to oppose. The Zarak gelding was value for further when completing a double on his handicap debut over hurdles at Musselburgh last month and a 7lb higher mark shouldn't be the ceiling of his ability. Fellow in-form rival Swift Hawk is feared most after his recent close-up second at Taunton, although the four-year-old would make more appeal over further. Got Grey may chase the duo home.

This looks between SWIFT HAWK and Golden Maverick, with the former marginally preferred on account of the fact that he may be better equipped than Jamie Snowden's charge should this become tactical, which is a plausible scenario. Golden Maverick is 2-4 over hurdles and remains open to improvement but 2m round here on drying ground could find him out. Got Grey can claim minor place money.

It's hard to see beyond progressive 4yo GOLDEN MAVERICK, who won a competitive race last month and now bids to complete a hat-trick.
