1st (6) (9/1 -6%) Robyndzone |
9/1(-6%) | (6) Robyndzone 9/1, After 28 months off, shaped as if retaining ability on first run since leaving Fergal O'Brien when fifth of 12 over C&D in November but pulled up in a Plumpton race won by Gold Clermont since. That leaves him with something to prove.
2nd (1) (3.33/1 +0%) Duc De Beauchene |
3.33/1(+0%) | (1) Duc De Beauchene 3.33/1, Scored over fences at Newbury (22.5f) last spring. Not so good this season but his reduced mark reflects that and he's been placed the last twice (C&D first occasion). Thereabouts.
3rd (5) (1.88/1 +32%) Prince Des Fichaux |
1.88/1(+32%) | (5) Prince Des Fichaux 1.88/1, Fair maiden hurdler, running up to best when second in handicap at Fontwell 19 days ago. Should be thereabouts if taking to fences at the first time of asking.
4th (2) (25/1 -25%) Marettimo |
25/1(-25%) | (2) Marettimo 25/1, Three wins last spring. Not in anything like the same form when pulled up in 2 comeback runs in the autumn but could bounce back after wind surgery.
5th (4) (5.5/1 +35%) Pottlerath |
5.5/1(+35%) | (4) Pottlerath 5.5/1, Successful 3 times over hurdles during 2022, latterly here in October. Even better form when runner-up on his final 3 outings in 2022. Seemed to find 19.5f at Chepstow an inadequate test when remote fourth on his chase debut 6 weeks ago and may fare better now back up in trip.
6th (3) (3/1 -71%) Gold Clermont |
3/1(-71%) | (3) Gold Clermont 3/1, Well suited by the return to fences when scoring twice at Plumpton last month. Won easily on the second occasion and an 8 lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent her completing a hat-trick. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
GOLD CLERMONT is in the form of her life at present and there is no reason to suggest why she can't complete the hat-trick off an 8lb higher mark than last time at Plumpton. Prince Des Fichaux has shown a decent level of form over hurdles and is interesting on his debut in this sphere, while Duc De Beauchene remains very well handicapped.
The thriving GOLD CLERMONT is taken to defy the handicapper and complete a quick chase hat-trick. Duc de Beauchene is down to a mark he can be very competitive from and is feared most ahead of Sam Thomas chase newcomer Prince des Fichaux.
It is hard to escape the claims of GOLD CLERMONT, now that she has found her form.

1st (1) (0.67/1 +55%) Everyonesgame |
0.67/1(+55%) | (1) Everyonesgame 0.67/1, Fairly useful bumper winner who was well backed when making a bright start over hurdles when second in a Worcester maiden in September. Below that level at Warwick but wasted no time getting back to form when fifth at Newbury (20.5f) in November. Has had a breathing op since. Leading claims.
2nd (3) (3.5/1 +22%) Max's Champ |
3.5/1(+22%) | (3) Max's Champ 3.5/1, Winning pointer who was fair in bumpers and has shown a similar level of form over hurdles, though it wasn't a particularly likeable display tackling a new trip when sixth at Chepstow (23.6f) 18 days ago, merely plugging on. Fitted with first-time blinkers and tongue strap combination.
3rd (5) (4.5/1 -125%) Another Day Out |
4.5/1(-125%) | (5) Another Day Out 4.5/1, Winning Irish pointer at third attempt who shaped with encouragement when second in 8-runner novice at Southwell (15.8f) 17 days ago, rallying back into second crossing last. Step up in trip will suit and open to improvement.
4th (8) (80/1 -21%) Passing Kate |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Passing Kate 80/1, Made more impact than previously when sixth in 10-runner novice hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f) 18 days ago but won't be of interest until handicapping at a low level.
5th (7) (33/1 -32%) Internet Biddy |
33/1(-32%) | (7) Internet Biddy 33/1, Just modest form at best in 2 bumpers but shaped better than the distance beaten suggests sent hurdling when fourth at Lingfield (2m). However, jumped erratically when well held at Chepstow since. Up in trip.
|F| (9) (150/1 -88%) There's Lovely |
150/1(-88%) | (9) There's Lovely 150/1, £2,000 3-y-o, Jeu St Eloi filly. Half-sister to fair hurdler Union Park, stays 21f. Best watched unless the betting suggests otherwise.
|PU| (2) (9/1 +10%) Hurricane Le Dun |
9/1(+10%) | (2) Hurricane Le Dun 9/1, Offered little in 2 bumpers but slightly more encouraging signs over hurdles, including when fourth in small-field maiden at Ffos Las (21.9f) latest.
|PU| (4) (20/1 -43%) Pippin Took |
20/1(-43%) | (4) Pippin Took 20/1, Showed a bit when fourth in 9-runner bumper at Haydock (15.6f, soft) on debut in December. Upped in trip for hurdle debut.
|PU| (6) (300/1 -50%) Bellamys Girl |
300/1(-50%) | (6) Bellamys Girl 300/1, Has shown nothing in a pair of maiden hurdles. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This can go the way of EVERYONESGAME, who may have been beaten a long way at Newbury when last seen but the form of that race has worked out a treat. Wind surgery in the interim may also aid his cause and the six-year-old gets the vote ahead of the capable Max's Champ and Another Day Out, who ran a promising race on her Rules debut at Southwell last month.
ANOTHER DAY OUT shaped well with a view to stepping up in trip when runner-up on her Southwell debut 17 days ago, so she gets the nod to go one better. Everyonesgame wasn't disgraced in a warm race at Newbury on his most recent outing in November and is an obvious threat returning from a break having also had a breathing operation since last seen. Max's Champ isn't without hope if responding well to headgear.
Although soft ground may be an issue, EVERYONESGAME has the form to win.

1st (2) (3/1 +10%) Ardmayle |
3/1(+10%) | (2) Ardmayle 3/1, Scored at Southwell in February but only sixth of 12 in handicap chase there (15.8f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Sort to bounce back.
2nd (1) (7/1 +36%) Chestnut Pete |
7/1(+36%) | (1) Chestnut Pete 7/1, Fair hurdler but he has shown little on his last two runs at Bangor and Chepstow. Has lots to find now going chasing.
3rd (7) (20/1 +20%) Torrent Des Mottes |
20/1(+20%) | (7) Torrent Des Mottes 20/1, Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. 18/1, well-held third of 5 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (17.2f, soft) 8 days ago so others appeal more.
4th (4) (1.38/1 -25%) Yellow Jacket |
1.38/1(-25%) | (4) Yellow Jacket 1.38/1, Lightly-raced maiden who arrives on the back of a good debut second of 7 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (2m) 15 days ago. Big shout with more to offer.
5th (5) (4.5/1 -29%) Lonimoss Bareliere |
4.5/1(-29%) | (5) Lonimoss Bareliere 4.5/1, Remains a maiden but in good form until coming in last of five in handicap chase at Market Rasen (2m1f) 8 days ago. Not discounted if shrugging off latest effort.
6th (6) (28/1 +15%) Gala Des Lys |
28/1(+15%) | (6) Gala Des Lys 28/1, 50/1, pulled up in handicap at Ffos Las (16f, heavy) on his debut over fences 15 days ago. It's easy to look elsewhere.
7th (3) (9/1 +68%) Blazer's Mill |
9/1(+68%) | (3) Blazer's Mill 9/1, Went backwards for Olly Murphy after scoring over hurdles in 2020 and no real signs of a revival in 4 starts for present yard. Mark continues to fall at least. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A fairly weak contest, in which preference is for YELLOW JACKET, who arrives following a fair second on his chase debut at Ffos Las last month. He loses Peter Kavanagh's 5lb claim here but should not be taken lightly in the hands of Theo Gillard. Lonimoss Bareliere has proven to be capable of better than his latest showing and can bounce back, while Ardmayle is another to note.
YELLOW JACKET made a promising start in this sphere when runner-up at Ffos Las and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity to go one better here off just a 1 lb higher mark. Both Ardmayle (second choice) and Lonimoss Bareliere were not at their best last time out but are weighted to have a say if back on their A-games in a handicap where lots have a question mark against them.
After his encouraging chase debut at Ffos Las there should be a big run in YELLOW JACKET, who has the lowest mileage of these.

1st (5) (9/1 +64%) Kalpaga |
9/1(+64%) | (5) Kalpaga 9/1, French import who posted her best effort for current yard when third of 10 in handicap hurdle over C&D in February. Failed to build on that, to put it mildly, at Taunton next time, though, and it's probably best to look elsewhere.
2nd (1) (3/1 -50%) I Giorni |
3/1(-50%) | (1) I Giorni 3/1, Lightly-raced under NH rules. Career best when winning 8-runner handicap hurdle at this course (16.2f, good to soft, 6/1) 13 days ago by ½ length from Chantilly Haze. Shortlist material.
3rd (7) (11/1 -38%) Mrs Kinsella |
11/1(-38%) | (7) Mrs Kinsella 11/1, Modest ex-Irish maiden hurdler who showed nothing in 2 starts for Billy Aprahamian. Off 87 days and has joined another new yard, so she's worth close observation in the betting.
4th (11) (40/1 +0%) Happy Returns |
40/1(+0%) | (11) Happy Returns 40/1, Yet to show anything better than poor form over hurdles.
5th (4) (9/1 +25%) Lady Pacifico |
9/1(+25%) | (4) Lady Pacifico 9/1, Made a winning start over hurdles at Leicester (2m) last season but record has been distinctly patchy since. Latest third at Warwick was a bit better but she needs to build on it.
6th (10) (4/1 +0%) Chantilly Haze |
4/1(+0%) | (10) Chantilly Haze 4/1, Poor maiden who, having attracted support, returned to form when second to I Giorni here last time. Not sure to back it up.
7th (8) (7/1 +18%) Sindabella |
7/1(+18%) | (8) Sindabella 7/1, Some decent efforts to her name over hurdles but has been struggling for form of late (over fences last time). Tongue strap is back on.
8th (12) (5.5/1 +61%) Saddlers Quest |
5.5/1(+61%) | (12) Saddlers Quest 5.5/1, Poor maiden who looks set for another struggle from out of the weights.
9th (9) (50/1 -178%) Bella Ciao |
50/1(-178%) | (9) Bella Ciao 50/1, Has achieved precious little to date and was pulled up here last time. Plenty to prove.
10th (6) (7/1 -40%) Treyarnon Bay |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Treyarnon Bay 7/1, Bumper winner who hasn't offered much over hurdles but could prove a different proposition now handicapping off a low mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 5lb raised mark following a game success over 2m at this track last month looks unlikely to stop I Giorni having a say in proceedings, but it could be worth siding with the reopposing CHANTILLY HAZE. She was only denied by half a length in the aforementioned contest and can reverse that form now 2lb better off with Anthony Honeyball's charge. Treyarnon Bay is another to bear in mind.
I GIORNI impressed with the way she travelled when making a successful handicap debut here and, with the scope for better still, she's fancied to go in again. Treyarnon Bay looks an interesting handicap debutante for a top yard and Mrs Kinsella is interesting starting out for a new yard.
The unexposed I GIORNI (nap) won here recently and can defy top weight over this longer trip.

1st (1) (11/1 -22%) Grizzly James |
11/1(-22%) | (1) Grizzly James 11/1, Fairly useful ex-French hurdles winner but yet to score for his current yard and was rather concerningly pulled up sharply 4 out in 3m handicap chase at Ludlow last month.
2nd (5) (12/1 +40%) Abaya Du Mathan |
12/1(+40%) | (5) Abaya Du Mathan 12/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022 and his mark has been tumbling ever since, finishing a well-beaten third at Huntingdon (19.9f, heavy) 9 days ago.
3rd (2) (6/1 +14%) Family Pot |
6/1(+14%) | (2) Family Pot 6/1, Won both outings at this venue in February but folded tamely in his hat-trick bid over C&D just under a fortnight ago, found to have lost a shoe. Fancied to bounce back quickly partnered by a handy 3 lb conditional rider.
4th (8) (2.25/1 +36%) Just Go For It |
2.25/1(+36%) | (8) Just Go For It 2.25/1, Won her first race in 2 years courtesy of the stewards with a tongue strap refitted at Wincanton early last month and improved further to gain her victory on the track back there (21.4f, good to soft) 10 days ago. Well held on both previous starts over fences but much better anticipated now.
5th (9) (11/1 -57%) Leskinfere |
11/1(-57%) | (9) Leskinfere 11/1, Back-to-back Huntingdon winner last March (from marks in the 70s) but largely disappointing this term. However, he seemed to excel himself from 33 lb out of the handicap when third at Market Rasen (19.2f, soft) 8 days ago and has much more realistic claims from his proper mark here.
6th (3) (28/1 -522%) Layerthorpe |
28/1(-522%) | (3) Layerthorpe 28/1, Landed a hat-trick in staying handicap hurdles in 2019 but having offered little on chase debut/return at Ludlow in November, seemed to excel himself in a first-time tongue strap when runner-up at Taunton (23f, good to soft) 3 weeks later. Not seen since, though.
7th (6) (12/1 -41%) Loud As Lions |
12/1(-41%) | (6) Loud As Lions 12/1, Out of form for some time now and the switch back to hurdling at Ffos Las last month failed to spark a revival. More severe headgear reached for back over fences but tough to recommend.
|PU| (7) (2.75/1 +58%) From This Moment |
2.75/1(+58%) | (7) From This Moment 2.75/1, No encouragement in 7 starts over hurdles in Ireland (including in handicaps) so will need this switch of yard/to fences to transfigure him (was at least placed on last 3 completed starts in points).
|PU| (4) (9/1 -50%) Higgs |
9/1(-50%) | (4) Higgs 9/1, Dual hurdles winner back in 2018 who proved expensive to follow for Dr Richard Newland. Sold for just £2,500 and yet to make much of a serious impact for this yard, holding his form well enough without getting that close to a first win in this sphere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Only narrowly denied over 2m7f at Taunton in December, LAYERTHORPE could benefit from a shorter stamina test having been headed up the run-in that day and should not be taken lightly off a short break. Just Go For It reverts back to fences following a comfortable success over timber last month and is feared most, ahead of the Sheila Lewis-trained Family Pot.
A few in with chances but LESKINFERE seemed to excel himself from well out of the weights at Market Rasen last week and, back racing from his proper mark in this, he has much more realistic claims of notching a third career success. He gets the nod over Just Go For It, who is expected to leave both previous efforts in this sphere behind after a pair of Wincanton victories over timber last month. Family Pot and Layerthorpe can fight out third spot.
A few of these are of some interest but the consistent HIGGS ought to give supporters a good run for their money.

1st (6) (3.5/1 +42%) Executive Pool |
3.5/1(+42%) | (6) Executive Pool 3.5/1, Fair Flat winner who was runner-up twice in juvenile hurdles during the autumn. However, not been in same form since and others hold stronger claims.
2nd (4) (4.5/1 -125%) Play By The Rules |
4.5/1(-125%) | (4) Play By The Rules 4.5/1, Aided by first-time cheekpieces when decisively taking 13-runner handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, heavy) 24 days ago. 8 lb higher now but looks the one to beat nonetheless.
3rd (5) (7.5/1 +6%) Mister Barclay |
7.5/1(+6%) | (5) Mister Barclay 7.5/1, No real impact in novices but showed a bit more when sixth at Ffos Las (20f, good to soft) latest and may do better now sent handicapping.
4th (7) (9/1 +36%) Hi Riko |
9/1(+36%) | (7) Hi Riko 9/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Back from 9 months off when well held in Carlisle novice 45 days ago and makes limited appeal on . handicap debut.
5th (3) (5/1 +50%) Uncle Arthur |
5/1(+50%) | (3) Uncle Arthur 5/1, Landed 6-runner bumper at Worcester (2m) in June and showed his first form over obstacles when fourth at Taunton (16.5f, soft, 20/1) in January. However, failed to build on that at Fakenham since and bit to prove now.
6th (8) (25/1 +24%) Beannaigh Do |
25/1(+24%) | (8) Beannaigh Do 25/1, Made frame sole start in Irish points but no impact over hurdles, finishing last of 8 at this course latest.
7th (9) (16/1 +0%) The Longest Day |
16/1(+0%) | (9) The Longest Day 16/1, First-time cheekpieces applied when creditable third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (24.4f, soft) 15 months ago. Not seen since, however, and likely to find this trip on sharp side. 3 lb out of the weights.
8th (1) (4.5/1 +0%) Accidental Legend |
4.5/1(+0%) | (1) Accidental Legend 4.5/1, Below par at Ffos Las latest but had completed a hat-trick in handicaps (at up to 20.6f) previously and must enter calculations.
9th (2) (11/1 -69%) Tokyo Live |
11/1(-69%) | (2) Tokyo Live 11/1, Made the frame all 3 starts in 4-y-o hurdles for Francois Nicolle in 2021 and in process of running creditably when coming down at last in Lingfield handicap for current yard 13 months ago. Not seen since but in good hands and is worth a second look in the market. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PLAY BY THE RULES bolted up at Taunton on his handicap debut last month and a subsequent 8lb rise in the handicap might not be enough to halt further progress. Good ground might have been the undoing of Accidental Legend when he was tailed off at Ffos Las last time and the return to an easier surface could see the son of Shirocco bounce straight back to form. Others to note include Hi Riko and Executive Pool.
PLAY BY THE RULES won in emphatic fashion at Taunton last month and a 8 lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent a follow-up success. Accidental Legend and Tokyo Live may provide the chief threat.
Despite giving the impression he wasn't fully concentrating, PLAY BY THE RULES won in style at Taunton and can follow up.

1st (6) (3/1 +25%) The Doyen Chief |
3/1(+25%) | (6) The Doyen Chief 3/1, £110,000 5-y-o, Doyen gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fair hurdler (stayed 2¾m) Cooksgrove Lady. Won completed start in Irish points (Dec 4) and he's a Rules debutant well worthy of note for good yard.
2nd (5) (5.5/1 -57%) Soldierofthestorm |
5.5/1(-57%) | (5) Soldierofthestorm 5.5/1, Soldier of Fortune gelding who has plenty of scope and he ran to a fair level when third in 12-runner Ascot bumper on debut (15.7f) in October, keeping on inside final 1f. Absent since but he's entitled to come forward from that.
3rd (2) (2.25/1 -38%) Lump Sum |
2.25/1(-38%) | (2) Lump Sum 2.25/1, Authorized gelding who made the ideal start when landing a bumper at Bangor (16.6f) in October, produced to lead over 2f out and clear soon after. Clearly knew his job but way he went through the race suggests there's better yet to come.
4th (4) (12/1 +57%) Mac's Legacy |
12/1(+57%) | (4) Mac's Legacy 12/1, Fame And Glory gelding. Brother to bumper winner Ballycairn. Dam, ran twice in bumpers, half-sister to very smart chaser (stayed 3m) Opera Hat.
5th (7) (8/1 +56%) Oneandahalfdegrees |
8/1(+56%) | (7) Oneandahalfdegrees 8/1, Flemensfirth mare. Sister to 4 winners, including bumper winner/smart hurdler Royal Kahala and useful 2m/25f hurdle winner Collectors Item, and half-sister to a winner. Makes good deal of appeal on paper so interesting where she figures in the betting on debut.
6th (1) (10/1 +0%) Largy Valley |
10/1(+0%) | (1) Largy Valley 10/1, Pulled up only start in points yet, (tongue tied) overcame definite greenness to make a winning debut in Ayr bumper (2m) in November, keeping on well. Sure to have derived plenty from that and open to improvement for new yard.
7th (8) (8.5/1 -55%) Chevington |
8.5/1(-55%) | (8) Chevington 8.5/1, Out of a winner and showed good deal of ability himself when second in 6-runner C&D bumper on debut in February. Up to playing a part on that evidence.
8th (9) (16/1 +60%) Maryah Island |
16/1(+60%) | (9) Maryah Island 16/1, Blue Bresil gelding. Dam, refused only start over hurdles, 1m/8.3f winner on Flat. Wears tongue strap.
9th (3) (300/1 -200%) Catch The Crumpet |
300/1(-200%) | (3) Catch The Crumpet 300/1, Lucarno gelding who went with no encouragement when last of 5 in a Doncaster bumper on debut 33 days ago. Tongue tie goes on. Easy enough to look elsewhere. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Lump Sum and Largy Valley must shoulder penalties having struck on their respective Rules debuts, so it might pay to side with the Jonjo O'Neill-trained SOLDIEROFTHESTORM. He finished a good third at Ascot in October and, with bumper winners in his pedigree, the five-year-old is fancied to take a step forward. The Doyen Chief is another to consider representing powerful connections.
LUMP SUM justified strong support and looked a good prospect to boot when making a winning bumper debut at Bangor back in the autumn and with progress highly likely, he gets the nod to make it 2-2. Largy Valley overcame obvious signs of inexperience when landing a bumper himself at Ayr in November and can also figure, with Chevington and The Doyen Chief others worth a look.
Despite a penalty for his win last October, LUMP SUM makes most appeal.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
