1st (1) (4/7 +31%) East Street |
4/7(+31%) | (1) East Street 4/7, Pulled up on first outing for current yard, but in change of headgear (visor applied) has left that effort behind in 2 starts since, completing a quick-fire double in handicap chase at Leicester (20.1f, soft) 3 days ago. Leading claims back hurdling. Easy winner of his last two chases and well handicapped on this return to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (20/1 -150%) Kiss My Face |
20/1(-150%) | (3) Kiss My Face 20/1, Resumed winning ways at Worcester in July and good effort when second at Bangor (23.2f, heavy) in October. Below-par effort at Exeter 16 days ago, but his profile over hurdles for current yard has largely been a positive one. Could bounce back. Did go close at Bangor two runs back but it was a laboured effort at Exeter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (6/1 +33%) It's Maisy |
6/1(+33%) | (7) It's Maisy 6/1, Landed a trio of handicaps last season, signing off with victory at Uttoxeter in April. After 6 months off, ran well upped in grade when sixth of 10 at Bangor (23.3f, heavy) in October and she can give another good account. Handicapper may have caught up but Charlie Maggs returns here with his 3lb claim. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (10) (22/1 -83%) Topkapi Star |
22/1(-83%) | (10) Topkapi Star 22/1, Successful twice in 2022/23 and after 5 months off she bounced back to form when winning at Sedgefield (19.8f, soft) in October. Task is now to back that up. Just 2lb higher than for her Sedgefield win and this return to 3m should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (7/1 -17%) Artic Mann |
7/1(-17%) | (5) Artic Mann 7/1, Very consistent last season and deservedly got back to winning ways at Perth in May. Creditable effort after 5 months off when third of 6 at Kelso (25.8f, good to soft) in October and he can make his presence felt once more. Perth winner in May and could have needed the race at Kelso (rallied for third). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (66/1 -32%) Polish |
66/1(-32%) | (2) Polish 66/1, Without a win since 2021 and hasn't offered much in 3 starts for current yard, well-beaten sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Newcastle (23.7f, good) 19 days ago. Has dropped further in the weights but enough to prove at present. Ex-Fergal O'Brien gelding who has offered little for his current yard; too much to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (25/1 -25%) My Friend Yeats |
25/1(-25%) | (4) My Friend Yeats 25/1, Point winner at the seventh attempt and bettered his hurdles debut effort when going close in a Cartmel novice (22.1f) in July. Respectable fifth of 9 sent handicapping at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) last time, but more needed up in trip. This far is worth a go but bit to prove after a disappointing handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (33/1 -175%) Atomic Angel |
33/1(-175%) | (6) Atomic Angel 33/1, Gained reward for a good spell when staying on for success at Hexham (23.3f) in May. Shaped as if still in form when sixth of 9 at Perth (26.6f, good to soft) 11 days later, so she's capable of getting involved (ran well on last season's return). The cheekpieces had been working well until finishing well beaten at Hexham last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (12/1 +40%) Fainche |
12/1(+40%) | (9) Fainche 12/1, Remains winless following 25 attempts but ended last term in good heart, runner-up in handicap at Newcastle (23.7f, heavy) in April. Shaped as if needing the run after 7 months off at Hexham 26 days ago, though others still more persuasive. No wins in 25 and was tailed off at Hexham after a break; not the percentage call. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (66/1 0%) C'est Quelqu'un |
66/1(0%) | (8) C'est Quelqu'un 66/1, Recorded back-to-back handicap chase wins for Gordon Elliott last season but form has gone the wrong way since, faring no better over hurdles when well held at Ayr (19.5f, good to soft) on stable debut 3 weeks ago. Cheekpieces back on. Left Gordon Elliott for £2,500 and was tailed off on recent stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having supplemented his ready victory over fences at Wetherby with a facile triumph at Leicester on Sunday, it is hard to oppose EAST STREET reverting to timber. James Owen's gelding is off a 7lb lower mark than his latest success and is likely to taking all the beating if coping with another quick turnaround. It's Maisy is entitled to build on her reappearance at Bangor 36 days ago and she may give the selection most to think about, ahead of Topkapi Star.
In a change of headgear for his new yard, EAST STREET has quickly proved better than ever, defying a penalty with the minimum of fuss at Leicester 3 days ago, so he is the one to beat if taking up this engagement back over hurdles. The consistent Artic Mann is next on the list, ahead of Kiss My Face.
Even with today's change of discipline, it's hard to get away from the in-form and well-handicapped EAST STREET.

1st (3) (7/2 -115%) White Rhino |
7/2(-115%) | (3) White Rhino 7/2, Good strike rate over hurdles and took switch to chasing in his stride when landing 5-runner handicap at Ayr a month ago. Should be plenty more to come from him. Progressive staying hurdler; winner on chase debut last month; likely improver; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (7/2 +22%) President Scottie |
7/2(+22%) | (4) President Scottie 7/2, Ended last term on the up over hurdles, scoring at Ayr and Haydock before a very good fourth in 3m Ayr handicap in the spring. Has the potential to make a better chaser so he demands a second look. Two wins over hurdles last term, the second over 3m here; interesting chase debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (9/1 +55%) Kilta |
9/1(+55%) | (7) Kilta 9/1, Winning chase debut from out of the weights at Cartmel in May but not in the same form all 3 starts since, fitted with cheekpieces latest. Won three-runner novice h'cap on chase debut in May; not so good since; stiff task here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (3/1 +40%) Heros De Romay |
3/1(+40%) | (5) Heros De Romay 3/1, Well-bred bumper winner who showed a good attitude to make a successful hurdling debut in maiden at Chepstow (19.5f) a year ago. Wasn't able to repeat that effort in his 2 subsequent outings but goes well fresh and is one to note as he makes chase/handicap bow. Bumper/maiden hurdle winner in 2023; likely to fare even better now going chasing.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 -273%) Whatdeawant |
28/1(-273%) | (2) Whatdeawant 28/1, Pretty useful novice hurdler for Willie Mullins during 2021/22 campaign, best effort when third in the Ballymore at the Cheltenham Festival. Has never stood much racing and he looked rusty on handicap/stable debut at Kelso in May. Off since. Ex-Willie Mullins; bumper/hurdle winner; decent 3rd in a chase on stable debut; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (66/1 -164%) Walking On Air |
66/1(-164%) | (1) Walking On Air 66/1, Dual-winning hurdler who posted a career best when runner-up on Newbury chase debut last December. Disappointed over hurdles in February (final start for Nicky Henderson) and low-key start for new yard when pulled up returned to chasing at Stratford in October. Tongue tie fitted. Ex-Henderson; useful hurdler; good 2nd on chase debut; sold £44,000 in May; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (9/4 +44%) Beneficially Yours |
9/4(+44%) | (6) Beneficially Yours 9/4, £80,000 purchase after winning his only start in Irish points and justified favouritism in a maiden/novice over 20.3f at Newcastle during the spring. Good chase prospect. Irish point winner; won twice over hurdles in the spring; interesting sort for chasing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Having made a winning chase bow at Ayr on his seasonal debut last month, White Rhino likely has more to come in this discipline. The eight-year-old warrants respect off a 5lb higher mark, but the hat-trick seeking BENEFICIALLY YOURS is slightly more compelling. Donald McCain's charge scored on his sole outing between the flags in Ireland and a mark of 120 on his first attempt over the larger obstacles may prove lenient. Heros De Romay could fare best of the remainder.
This looks a strong race for the field size with WHITE RHINO the percentage call having made a seamless transition to fences at Ayr a month ago. Chase newcomers Beneficially Yours, President Scottie and Heros de Romay all have something to recommend them, though.
An interesting race in which WHITE RHINO (nap) is taken to make it 2-2 over fences. President Scottie looks his main danger.

1st (7) (11/4 +31%) Ski Lodge |
11/4(+31%) | (7) Ski Lodge 11/4, Useful form when making second start in bumpers a winning one at Chepstow in January. Went with more promise than bare result might imply after 10 months off when seventh of 15 in Ffos Las maiden hurdle 24 days ago and he's a likely improver stepping up in trip. May have needed the run on hurdling debut and he's open to progress upped in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 -71%) Jo Coko |
6/1(-71%) | (3) Jo Coko 6/1, £105,000 5-y-o, Cokoriko gelding. Dam, French 2¼m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/winning chaser (2m-2½m winner) New Rock. Won only start in Irish points (Feb 2024) and he's one to note in the betting on Rules bow. Won Irish point in February before being sold for £105,000; interesting on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (15/2 +46%) Grand Geste |
15/2(+46%) | (2) Grand Geste 15/2, Down the field in 2 bumpers but left previous hurdling exploits in his wake when second of 14 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f) 6 weeks ago, headed dying strides. A repeat gives him sound claims of getting involved. Nearly caused a 200-1 shock at Carlisle and he's not ruled out on this step up to 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (7/4 +47%) Star Of Diamonds |
7/4(+47%) | (8) Star Of Diamonds 7/4, €26,000 3-y-o, £60,000 5-y-o, Diamond Boy gelding. Dam (h90), bumper/2m hurdle winner (stayed 2½m), half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 25f) Western Run. Off mark in Irish points at fourth attempt (Mar 2024). One to note on Rules bow with Cobden booked. Sold for £60,000 after Irish point win in March; needs watching in market on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (6/1 +63%) Martin Plage |
6/1(+63%) | (5) Martin Plage 6/1, Didn't kick on in bumpers but bright start after 7 months off when fifth of 13 in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 49 days ago. Now he needs to build on that effort. Not beaten far on hurdling debut at Wetherby (2m3f); in the mix if he can build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (50/1 -100%) Shadow Chaser |
50/1(-100%) | (6) Shadow Chaser 50/1, Point winner who was third in a 19f Cork bumper for John Gleeson and has shown a bit in a trio of novice hurdles in the North this autumn. However, handicaps promise to be more his thing. Well held in three hurdle runs for new yard this season and remains best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (20/1 +60%) Subtle Fortune |
20/1(+60%) | (11) Subtle Fortune 20/1, Successful twice in points since a low-key effort only start in bumpers but well held sixth of 8 in novice hurdle at Bangor (23.2f, soft, 25/1) on hurdles bow 21 days ago. Needs to step up a good deal on that if she's to figure. 2-5 in points but was long way behind Carrig Kate on recent hurdling debut (2m7f). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (40/1 +50%) Vroomoz Eile |
40/1(+50%) | (12) Vroomoz Eile 40/1, Morozov mare. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 3m) Bennys King. Maiden Irish pointer, third last time (Apr 13). One to monitor in the betting for clues on Rules debut. Wears hood. 0-13 in Irish points and is best watched on this switch to hurdling; hood added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (50/1 +38%) Balking |
50/1(+38%) | (1) Balking 50/1, Showed ability when fourth only start in bumpers and stepped up on hurdles debut when fifth of 11 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) 15 days ago, not knocked about. However, handicaps promise to be more his bag moving forward. Well held in both hurdle runs this autumn and he's probably more of a handicap prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (200/1 -150%) Ligety |
200/1(-150%) | (4) Ligety 200/1, Showed some promise when fifth in a Warwick bumper on debut back in April but friendless in betting and struggling some way out when pulled up in novice hurdle at Ffos Las (20f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Passed over here with cheekpieces quickly discarded. Eyecatcher in sole bumper but was pulled up at 125-1 on hurdling debut last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having filled the runner-up berth over hurdles at Stratford and Bangor in recent months, a breakthrough victory could be on the horizon for CARRIG KATE. The daughter of Westerner appears to have been found a weaker contest and she edges the vote over Grand Geste. The five-year-old almost caused a huge upset when second at Carlisle in October and he isn't taken lightly. Market support for point winner Jo Coko on his Rules debut would be interesting.
Market support behind one of the newcomers would look significant but CARRIG KATE would likely have opened her account but for a final-flight blunder at Bangor 3 weeks ago and shades the vote to come out on top. Ski Lodge looks a likely improver following an encouraging hurdles debut run at Ffos Las and is feared. Of the newcomers, Star of Diamonds and Jo Coko look particularly interesting.
Preference is for heavy-ground point winner CARRIG KATE, who was only just caught in a 2m7f novice at Bangor three weeks ago.

1st (5) (11/10 +27%) Royal Infantry |
11/10(+27%) | (5) Royal Infantry 11/10, Point/bumper winner who opened his hurdling account in ready style at the first attempt in 9-runner novice at Chepstow 28 days ago. Has the scope for plenty of progress and looks the one to beat. UK point winner; has since won two bumpers and Chepstow novice hurdle; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (11/8 +21%) Crest Of Fortune |
11/8(+21%) | (2) Crest Of Fortune 11/8, Related to several winners and made a successful start in Wincanton bumper in December. Good fifth at Newbury next time and returned with a comfortable success in a Ffos Las novice on hurdling debut. One to consider with more to come. Bumper winner who won a Ffos Las novice hurdle last time; down in trip but a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/2 -67%) Circuit Breaker |
15/2(-67%) | (1) Circuit Breaker 15/2, Useful handicapper on Flat (stays 2m) who landed a 4-runner novice at Kempton with ease on hurdling debut. Much more required here but he's a definite player. Dual Flat winner; bought 260,000gns; easy winner on hurdles debut; improvement likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (66/1 +0%) Parisian Fashion |
66/1(+0%) | (6) Parisian Fashion 66/1, €40,000 5-y-o, Champs Elysees mare. Sister to point bumper/bumper winner Phantom Gold. Dam, multiple bumper winner, also useful 2m/17f hurdle winner. Successful on last of 4 starts in Irish points (May 12). 40,000euros buy after winning Irish point in May; no easy task on hurdles/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -313%) Monaco Rules |
33/1(-313%) | (4) Monaco Rules 33/1, Fairly useful on the Flat in France and made a winning start to hurdling for Francois Nicolle at Cholet 58 days ago. Interesting recruit. Three wins on the Flat and won only hurdles start when trained in France; this is tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (33/1 -32%) Lass De La Blairie |
33/1(-32%) | (3) Lass De La Blairie 33/1, Fair hurdler. Tongue strap on for 1st time, won 13-runner juvenile hurdle at Pau (17.4f, soft, 52/1). Off 11 months. First run for yard after leaving E. Grall. Wears tongue strap. Open to progress. Ex-French; 52-1-winner on debut last December; quite interesting on first run for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
CIRCUIT BREAKER made a strong impression when bolting up on his hurdling debut at Kempton in October and he might have plenty more to offer. The four-year-old was a good performer on the Flat and should have no issues with this drop in trip. Crest Of Fortune was successful in good style over 2m4f at Ffos Las last month and should mount a bold bid with Harry Cobden booked, while Royal Infantry is another to consider.
ROYAL INFANTRY is already building up an excellent strike rate and, following a bloodless success at Chepstow on hurdling debut, he's the most appealing in a race where all six can be given some sort of chance. Crest of Fortune looks the main danger ahead of Circuit Breaker.
A competitive race can go to ROYAL INFANTRY who has won a point, two bumpers and a Chepstow maiden hurdle.

1st (2) (11/8 +31%) Cloudy Glen |
11/8(+31%) | (2) Cloudy Glen 11/8, Hard to predict but talented on his day and returns on a good mark with his stable firing, so worth taking a chance on. Hasn't won since 2021; these conditions suit, goes well fresh and is a definite contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (6/1 +0%) Good Boy Bobby |
6/1(+0%) | (3) Good Boy Bobby 6/1, Back-to-back winner in 3m veterans' handicap chases this time last year and wasn't discredited when third of 4 at Sandown last time. Looks a big player. Two wins last year; not quite at his best in two runs this term but not without a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (13/2 -30%) Empire Steel |
13/2(-30%) | (1) Empire Steel 13/2, Excuses in Topham at Aintree last season but had returned to winning ways at Kelso (21.6f) previously and was a respectable fourth back at Aintree when last seen in May. Can go well fresh so needs considering. Won over 2m5f last term, but solid form at this trip; coud go well after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (6/1 +25%) Omar Maretti |
6/1(+25%) | (4) Omar Maretti 6/1, Landed a gamble when capitalising on further drop in the weights at Catterick (25.2f) in February. Run of form ended when last seen 7 months ago and may come on for this return. Won on heavy at Catterick last term; not quite as good since; may be better for the run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (12/1 -33%) Up Helly Aa King |
12/1(-33%) | (7) Up Helly Aa King 12/1, Likeable chaser who landed 3m Ayr handicap in January and was back to winning ways at Kelso 7 months ago. Returns needing a career best but has gone well in this before. Two wins last season; suited by these conditions but likely to need the run after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (13/2 -18%) Smarty Wild |
13/2(-18%) | (5) Smarty Wild 13/2, Useful handicap chaser, placed all 3 starts in 2022/23. Absent since but has been given chance by the handicapper and yard going well at present. All wins at shorter but stays 3m well; acts on soft but no easy task after 690-day break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (14/1 -56%) The Two Amigos |
14/1(-56%) | (6) The Two Amigos 14/1, Capitalised on a reduced mark when gaining his first win since 2019 in 2022 Welsh National. Did too much too soon in the Midlands National 3 months later and off the track since. Interesting what the market makes of him. Has run only once since winning 2022 Welsh National and no easy task after 627-day break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
GOOD BOY BOBBY put in an underwhelming display when well beaten into third at Sandown last time, but he might be best judged on his effort when making the frame at Chepstow prior to that. Nigel Twiston-Davies' veteran competes off a 1lb lower mark and he looks the way to go. Cloudy Glen was pulled up in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen but he would be dangerous to dismiss, while Empire Steel is the pick of the remainder.
CLOUDY GLEN has been given a chance by the handicapper and returns with his stable in excellent form, so he gets the nod ahead of Good Boy Bobby, who boasts a solid record in these events. The Two Amigos returns from a lengthy absence on a good mark under optimum conditions, so he also needs considering.
As he has such a good record fresh the well-handicapped CLOUDY GLEN is taken to win his first race since the 2021 Ladbroke Trophy.

1st (3) (7/2 +13%) Hazy Glen |
7/2(+13%) | (3) Hazy Glen 7/2, Bumper winner who showed plenty of promise when placed 3 times in maiden/novice hurdles last winter. Remains with potential sent handicapping, the return to this longer trip sure to suit. Promise in all three runs over hurdles and needs a close look on handicap/seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (4/1 +60%) Haarar |
4/1(+60%) | (11) Haarar 4/1, Back-to-back winner over hurdles in May but has disappointed on both starts over timber since. Well positioned when scoring on the Flat at Redcar last month (14f, soft) and could have a say if arriving in the same form here. Dual hurdle winner who won on the Flat at Redcar latest; not ruled out back in this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (6/1 -20%) Blue Fin |
6/1(-20%) | (2) Blue Fin 6/1, Has a good record fresh and made a winning seasonal return at Carlisle in October. Backed that up with a creditable fourth there (17.2f, good to soft, 6/1) 15 days ago and he can back that up with cheekpieces applied. Looks weighted near best again but he should give it another good shot with headgear added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (15/2 +25%) Thereisnodoubt |
15/2(+25%) | (4) Thereisnodoubt 15/2, Veteran shaped as if in need of the run after a 10-month absence when ninth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Carlisle (17.2f, good to soft, 20/1) 41 days ago. Below last winning mark but others make greater appeal. On dangerous mark but he's well into the veteran stage and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (100/1 +0%) Pacini |
100/1(+0%) | (8) Pacini 100/1, Went wrong way after winning a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle for Gordon Elliott last December and showed nothing when down the field at Carlisle on debut for new yard. Hard to fancy. Has struggled in last five starts including on stable debut in October; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/1 +8%) Hasty Brook |
11/1(+8%) | (6) Hasty Brook 11/1, Fairly useful at his best and ran well when second over C&D in March 2023. Off the track since his next outing, so market may act as best guide to expectations after 20 months off. Back from long absence but was runner-up over C&D on penultimate run; watch market. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (10/3 +39%) Guard Duty |
10/3(+39%) | (5) Guard Duty 10/3, Bumper winner in late 2022 who left his hurdling debut form behind in a first-time hood when landing a 9-runner novice at Uttoxeter in July. Pulled hard at that track next time, but remains of interest sent handicapping after 5 months off. Bumper/hurdle winner who is unexposed in this sphere; interesting on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (9) (13/2 -44%) Jet Marshall |
13/2(-44%) | (9) Jet Marshall 13/2, Attracted support and showed improved form to make a winning handicap in a 17-runner contest at Wincanton (19.8f, good to soft) in February 2023. Returns with yard in good form and he's highly respected. Won on handicap debut early in 2023; absent since but needs watching in market on comeback. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
BLUE FIN showed a likeable attitude when scoring gamely over 2m1f at Carlisle on his penultimate start and he shaped as if he was still in good heart when showing up well for a long way before fading into fourth late on over the same C&D recently. Off an unchanged mark with cheekpieces enlisted for the first time, he gets the nod to return to winning ways. Guard Duty could get into contention on his handicap debut, provided he settles better. Jet Marshall returns from a long absence and warrants a market check.
HAZY GLEN appeals as the type to do better now tackling handicaps and is fancied to make a winning return with the step back up in trip promising to suit.
