13:45 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 13f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CRYSTAL GUARD is the only contender to have won over this distance in the field and although only successful by a head last time out at Ayr, he was always doing enough to hold off his challengers. Upped 1lb by the handicapper, the six-year-old can go well under Mohammed Tabti, who is a very promising apprentice. Twoforthegutter has to shoulder top-weight after rallying to win over a furlong shorter here and is an obvious danger, while Reams Of Love would be favourably handicapped if he can bounce back to his best.

TWOFORTHEGUTTER certainly wasn't winning out of turn here a fortnight ago but up 3 lb in another handicap lacking strength in depth, the follow up may well be forthcoming, Crystal Guard also got it right last time and is the obvious threat.

In a race that makes little appeal THE NAVIGATOR, who shaped better here last time, is taken to win his first Flat race since May 2022.

14:15 Hamilton Maiden (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

A small field may play into the hands of the experienced GEORGECANDOIT, who has finished second on all three starts to date and drops in class after trying to make all at Carlisle. He may be able to dominate from the off here, though newcomer Jungle Drums is an interesting alternative as a son of Bungle Inthejungle and representing the Karl Burke team. Gobsmacked is another to consider if returning to the form of his debut third here after a disappointing effort at Leicester.

JUNGLE DRUMS is certainly bred to be a sharp sort and representing an excellent yard with a superb record with 2-y-os, he's fancied to see off the standard-setting colt Georgecandoit and make a winning debut.

Karl Burke's Bungle Inthejungle newcomer JUNGLE DRUMS offers plenty of potential so he is taken to go in at the first time of asking.

14:50 Hamilton Maiden (Class 4) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Trainer Richard Fahey has won two of the last five runnings of this race suggesting the unraced Gold Black is worth a market watch. That said, he may find this six furlongs on the sharp side based on the dam's side of his pedigree. TRIPLE CHARGED showed improved form when third at Ayr and another step forward may see him shed the maiden tag. Lucius Aurelius and Pretty Thing could both enter calculations after their promising debuts.

With the Richard Fahey 2-y-os going so well a chance is taken on newcomer GOLD BLACK, with confidence increased should the betting vibes be strong. Pretty Thing and Lucius Aurelius are open to progress on the back of quite encouraging debut efforts and are feared most in that order.

Richard Fahey has his string in great order so his Golden Horde colt GOLD BLACK is taken to go in at the first time of asking.

15:30 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 11f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

In what looks a trappy affair, the tentative vote goes to JAMINOZ. Lucinda Russell's charge kept on well to finish fourth over an extended mile here last week and, off an unchanged mark stepping up in trip, he can land the spoils. Spanish Hustle has the ability to play a hand in a race of this nature and a bounce back to form off his last winning mark would be no surprise. Jackhammer was too keen for his own good when finishing fourth here latest and, with the headgear discarded this time, completes the shortlist.

This looks competitive for the numbers with SPANISH HUSTLE just about the most persuasive option with this drop back in trip sure to suit. The assessor has given Flying Scotsman every chance so he's dangerous in a change of headgear, with course-winner Jaminoz also of interest.

This can go to SPANISH HUSTLE who won three times over C&D last season and is back on his last winning mark. Jaminoz is next best.

16:10 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

JOHN L SULLIVAN impressed with the manner of his victory over a mile at Wetherby last week, making smooth headway to join the leaders before putting the race to bed in a matter of strides, and the likelihood is that a 6lb penalty may not be enough to anchor him. Fellow last-time-out winner Rosenzoo also commands respect under a penalty but inconsistency continues to be the main concern with him, while it would be foolish to overlook Jazz Scene, who steps up in trip on his handicap debut.

Having finished second in a very warm handicap for the grade at Wetherby, JOHN L SULLIVAN opened his account back at that venue last week and has strong claims of defying a penalty. The potential fly in the ointment is Jazz Scene, a Sir Mark Prescott handicap debutant tackling a more suitable trip.

Lucinda Russell's JOHN L SULLIVAN hasn't looked back since handicapping and can make light of a 6lb penalty for his Wetherby win.

16:50 Hamilton Handicap (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Persian Phoenix has been running well in defeat of late and she is a likely candidate once more, while Capellina, who steps up in trip and with cheekpieces applied for the first-time ahead of this handicap bow, must also enter calculations. However, recent Carlisle scorer NATURALIA does not look overburdened by a subsequent 5lb hike in the ratings and she is taken to follow up.

NATURALIA can continue her good start for the Donald Whillans stable and make light of a 5 lb rise for her Carlisle success 3 weeks ago. Persian Phoenix has been performing with credit lately and is second choice ahead of Michael Dods handicap newcomer Capellina.

Donald Whillans' NATURALIA (nap) has taken her form up a level & can defy a 5lb rise for her Carlisle win with the form looking strong.

17:25 Hamilton Handicap (Class 6) 9f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Back from a short absence and following wind surgery, there were signs of promise from the Iain Jardine-trained Sea Girt, who was a creditable fourth over C&D three weeks ago. The Sixties Icon gelding could build on that performance, but it might pay to side with HOT TEAM. Too keen to see out 1m4f here on his latest outing, the drop in trip is likely to be of benefit and this is not the deepest of contests on paper. Propagation is another to consider.

SEA GIRT might have just needed the outing after a break here last time and can come good on her second outing after wind surgery. Fanzone is an obvious threat on the back of his runner-up effort at Nottingham. Hot Team has had a good spell lately and also makes the shortlist.

Not many of these are regular winners and it could pay to take a chance on SEA GIRT on his second run back after wind surgery.
