5/2(-25%)
(4) Crebilly 5/2, Enjoyed a positive season over hurdles last term, signing off with career-best display to score at Sandown (19.8f) in April. Going best when falling 2 out on return/chase debut at Cheltenham (20.2f) in November but jumping again cost him when fourth back there a month later.
Just over 2l behind Trelawne at Cheltenham (2m4f, soft) last time on same terms as today.

(1) Tahmuras 7/5, Created a good impression when winning his first 3 starts over hurdles, including the Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown. Found out in Grade 1 company in the spring festivals but cast aside a tame chase debut in no uncertain terms when scoring in first-time cheekpieces at Aintree.
Huge revival in cheekpieces last time, winning a novice handicap at Aintree (2m4f, soft).

(3) Trelawne 13/8, Winner of 3 of his 4 starts over hurdles and immediately improved on that form as he made a successful debut over fences after 8 months off at Carlisle (2½m, soft) in November. Excellent efforts on the figures both starts since and cheekpieces should really help him. The one to beat.
Cheekpieces go on; if they have no adverse effect he should be bang there once again.

14:05 Exeter Maiden Chase (Class 2) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

A switch back to going right-handed should play to TRELAWNE's strengths given he hung right throughout in the Towton Novices' Chase at Wetherby on his most recent outing. The eight-year-old is clearly a talented chaser and he should have too much for Grade 1 winner (hurdles) Tahmuras, who did it well when scoring at Aintree in December. Crebilly has just over two lengths to find with the selection from their meeting at Cheltenham.

TRELAWNE has taken pretty well to fences and very much appeals as the type to benefit from first-time cheekpieces, so he looks the way to go on these terms. Crebilly receives weight all round and these slightly less-demanding fences may help him jump with more fluency. He's feared most.

The Aintree win by Tahmuras makes him the one to beat but TRELAWNE, who has first-time cheekpieces himself today, is a worthy rival.

14:35 Exeter Novices Hurdle (Class 2) 18f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

LOWRY'S BAR hasn't put a foot wrong this season and this is another step up the ladder as he looks to bring up the five-timer for his in-form connections. The slight drop in trip should not inconvenience him, with the progressive Josh The Boss looking best placed to chase him home if he's none the worse for his unseat in Grade 2 company at Sandown. A promising third on his hurdling debut behind a talented sort of Ben Pauling's, Home Free is open to improvement and can also get involved.

Separating LOWRY'S BAR, Hasthing and Josh The Boss isn't easy given they've already won 8 hurdles races between them but the first-named runner looks a very professional and useful novice in the making, so he gets the nod in favour of the Jonjo O'Neill representative.

Having made it 4-4 over hurdles when winning a handicap at Chepstow, LOWRY'S BAR is taken to maintain his unbeaten rules record.

15:05 Exeter Novices Hurdle (Class 1) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

This can go the way of FAVOUR AND FORTUNE, who ran an excellent race when only collared late in the piece in a Grade 1 at Aintree on Boxing Day. Alan King's charge is proven under these conditions, which bodes well ahead of a clash with Irish raider Fun Fun Fun, who may well be unbeaten in this sphere but for a costly mistake at the last at Thurles. Insurrection has the form to get involved, while Lookaway would have been a key player but struggled in the Betfair Hurdle on Saturday.

FUN FUN FUN looked unlucky not to make it 2 from 2 over hurdles when making a bad mistake at the last in a listed event at Thurles in December, in control at the time, and she can make Willie Mullins' first runner at this track a winning one. Favour And Fortune is feared most after his Grade 1 second last time, while Lookaway is also one to consider if taking up this engagement.

The Willie Mullins-trained mare FUN FUN FUN can make amends for Thurles last time, when she blundered at the final flight.

15:35 Exeter Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 23f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

GOWEL ROAD produced an encouraging display when finishing third in this grade at Lingfield last month and he remains on the same mark. The son of Flemensfirth is still relatively lightly raced for his age and goes in a first-time tongue-tie, which could eke out the improvement needed. Mill Green hit the frame over fences at Warwick last time and he has to be considered back over the smaller obstacles, while Goshhowposh is in cracking form and is another to note.

GOSHHOWPOSH displayed a good attitude when going in at Wincanton on Boxing Day and with few miles still on the clock he can defy a 6 lb rise and bag a third success of the season. Course scorer Hititi is feared most on the back of a good Plumpton second, with veteran Mill Green another who could have a say reverted to this sphere. Gowel Road completes the shortlist.

Very lightly raced and all set to find further improvement with tests of stamina, GOSHHOWPOSH (nap) is the one to beat.

16:05 Exeter Conditions Chase (Class 1) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.

GALIA DES LITEAUX (second) had Malina Girl (seventh) behind when showing great heart to battle all the way to the line over 3m5f in a premier handicap at Warwick last month. She is now rated 146, which makes her joint top-rated in this contest. As for the latter, she is 4lb better off at the weights this time around, so could get closer. Pink Legend is more than capable at this level and is another to watch out for.

GALIA DES LITEAUX only narrowly failed to concede 20 lb to another mare in the Classic Chase at Warwick last time and her overall profile at this level is solid, so she's fancied to notch her second win of the season at the chief expense of Irish raider Malina Girl, who wasn't quite at her best behind the selection last time but is talented enough to pose a real threat on a going day. Likeable front-runner Kestrel Valley is up in grade but gets the nod for third.

Last year's winner Pink Legend returns but will probably be up against it if GALIA DES LITEAUX or Malina Girl are on their game.

16:35 Exeter Handicap Chase (Class 2) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

There was enough encouragement to be taken from RAMSES DE TEILLEE's reappearance fourth at Warwick last month to suggest that he has a race of this nature in him. The five-time chase winner now races off his last winning mark and he's taken to do the business. Musical Slave, who landed the spoils in last year's renewal, should appreciate a return to this course. The Getaway gelding is feared most, ahead of Good Boy Bobby.

RAMSES DE TEILLEE is on an appealing mark and is likely to strip fitter for his comeback run, so he's worth supporting to build on his excellent effort in the 2023 renewal of this. Wayfinder and Fiddlerontheroof, both debutants in veterans' races, are also of interest.

Thorough stayer RAMSES DE TEILLEE ran well for a long way in last month's Veterans' Final and might dominate from the front here.

17:05 Exeter NH Flat Race (Class 2) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

Staff Sergeant Len almost defied market expectations when a close-up second at Fontwell a fortnight ago and the four-year-old will be out to put his experience to good use. However, there are some intriguing newcomers on show, with Rules debutant TEESHAN topping the bill. The gelded son of Westerner romped home by a staggering 41 lengths on his sole point-to-point start and really could be anything. Sawdust boasts a similar profile and isn't taken lightly.

TEESHAN was an easy winner of his sole start in Irish points so is taken to make a winning debut under Rules for top connections. Staff Sergeant Len only just failed at Fontwell 2 weeks ago so rates a threat along with newcomers Sawdust and Thomas Rainwater.

The most interesting runner is TEESHAN, who impressed on his Irish point debut in October.
