1st (4) (5/1 +9%) Idefix De Ciergues |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Idefix De Ciergues 5/1, Fair maiden hurdler who struck at the second time of asking over fences in 3m Chepstow handicap 23 days ago. Respected back hurdling with cheekpieces refitted. Only 2lb higher than for recent chase win and he has threatened over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (8/1 +20%) Prince De Juilley |
8/1(+20%) | (8) Prince De Juilley 8/1, Knocking on the door before getting off the mark at Warwick in May and shrugged off some lesser efforts when back to winning ways at Ludlow (3m) last month. The second at Ludlow won next time and he should remain competitive up 4 lb. Beat a subsequent winner at Ludlow a month ago; 4lb rise doesn't look too damaging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (7/2 +46%) Jeteye |
7/2(+46%) | (10) Jeteye 7/2, Got off the mark at Hexham in June and in good order since, finishing runner-up over 3m at Newcastle on his last 2 outings. Has mostly performed respectably since his Hexham win in June. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (20/1 +0%) Rickety Gate |
20/1(+0%) | (11) Rickety Gate 20/1, Won 11-runner handicap hurdle at Kelso (21f, good to soft) last month but not in the same form at Ayr since. Back from a break to win well at Kelso (2m5f, good) but only eighth on either side of that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (5/1 +58%) Redbridge Rambler |
5/1(+58%) | (5) Redbridge Rambler 5/1, Signed off last term with 3m Ascot success and also a creditable third at Kempton (3m again) in May. Has disappointed when a remote fourth in 2 chases this autumn but he may fare better back hurdling. Poor chasing the last twice but had been in competitive form over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/1 +8%) On Springs |
11/1(+8%) | (6) On Springs 11/1, Temperamental sort who fell twice over fences in the summer and reverted to hurdles to finish a creditable second over 21f at Kempton last time (had wind op since). Back up in trip. Callum Pritchard a big asset in a race like this. Considered. Better chaser than hurdler but second in this discipline last time; had wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (7/1 +50%) Minniemum |
7/1(+50%) | (7) Minniemum 7/1, Free-goer who finally came good in 23f Bangor handicap in May. Respectable third over the same trip at Hexham the following month. Back from a break with stable among the winners. Back from a break with yard in form and claiming 5lb through Archie Jones. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (11/2 -57%) Kick Up A Storm |
11/2(-57%) | (1) Kick Up A Storm 11/2, Took his handicap record to 3-5 when seeing off 4 rivals at Exeter (23f, good) 11 days ago. Likely has more to offer and big player under a 7 lb penalty. 3-5 in this headgear combination; Exeter was a winnable race but he looks on the upgrade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (3) (10/1 +9%) Rivers Corner |
10/1(+9%) | (3) Rivers Corner 10/1, Progressive earlier in the year, winning a pair of 3m handicaps in February and even better form when narrowly denied at Exeter in February. Player if resuming from a 7-month break in similar form. Improved form earlier this year under 7lb claimers; may be on a tough mark now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
KICK UP A STORM arrives here on the back of two victories in recent weeks and Paul Nicholls' gelding is hard to oppose under a 7lb penalty for his success over 2m7f at Exeter 11 days ago. That said, this is a competitive event and Prince De Juilley is another recent winner who has to be considered. On Springs edges out Idefix De Ciergues and Jeteye to be best of the rest.
KICK UP A STORM is going the right way for Paul Nicholls and a 7 lb penalty may not prevent him completing a hat-trick. The presence of Callum Pritchard in the saddle makes On Springs a must for the shortlist. Recent Chepstow chase winner Idefix de Ciergues and the returning Rivers Corner are others likely to have a say.
This looks very open. MINNIEMUM returns from a break with her yard going well and this late developer gets the nod.

1st (3) (5/1 +44%) Smart Decision |
5/1(+44%) | (3) Smart Decision 5/1, Postponed gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners, including poor chaser Fast Deal. Dam 9.5f/10.4f winner. Betting ought to prove a useful guide on debut. Postponed half-sister to winners Hellenista (1m4f-2m; RPR 70) and Fast Deal (3m3f chase). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/2 -125%) Wallquatari |
9/2(-125%) | (5) Wallquatari 9/2, Waldpark gelding who showed some ability before falling in juvenile hurdle at Stratford (16.3f, good to soft) on NH debut 53 days ago. 5 lengths down and held at the time but no surprise were he capable of better. 6l down but had run okay when a late faller at Stratford (just three ran; soft). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (4/1 -60%) Aotano |
4/1(-60%) | (1) Aotano 4/1, Overcame inexperience to make a winning hurdles debut at Hereford (16.2f) in October. Changed hands for £8,500 thereafter and similar form under a penalty when fifth of 7 at Bangor 16 days ago, again taking a keen hold. Narrow Hereford winner who was only fifth under a penalty at Bangor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (5/4 +38%) Adaay Forever |
5/4(+38%) | (2) Adaay Forever 5/4, Luckless when brought down early on debut at Wetherby at the start of the month but showed aptitude for this job when third of 7 at Bangor (16.6f, soft) 16 days ago. In good hands and likely he can do better again. Big shout. Wasn't beaten that far at Bangor despite his jumping being decidedly novicey. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (10/1 +38%) Snow Dragon |
10/1(+38%) | (4) Snow Dragon 10/1, Decorated Knight gelding. 12/1, swerved and unseated first on debut over hurdles at Wetherby (2m) 4 weeks ago. This should reveal more. Jinked and unseated rider at the opening flight when a 12-1 chance for his debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ADAAY FOREVER displayed plenty of promise when filling third place at Bangor a couple of weeks ago and Alan King's charge could be hard to stop if finding some improvement for that experience. Aotano was fifth in the same event and, while it is hard to see him reversing the form, the son of Soldier Hollow could prove to be the main threat. The rest all have some questions to answer, but any market support for Smart Decision would have to be noted.
Following a luckless mishap on debut, ADAAY FOREVER did show ability when third in similar company at Bangor 16 days ago and he shades the vote to build on that and come out on top. Donald McCain trained-pair Wallquatari and Aotano look the chief dangers.
A weak junior hurdle. ADAAY FOREVER looked no natural at Bangor but still got himself into contention when it mattered.

Bold Jury |
(9) (33/1 +34%)33/1(+34%) | (9) Bold Jury 33/1, Reached the frame on both completed starts in Irish points but changed hands for only £1,500 in May. A watching brief is advised on hurdle debut. Beaten 14l into third in his final point and likely up against it on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (10) (9/4 +68%) Moon Rocket |
9/4(+68%) | (10) Moon Rocket 9/4, Bought for £92,000 after easily getting off the mark in Irish points at the second attempt in April. Very interesting runner. Bought for £92,000 after taking an Irish point without much fuss and has joined good yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (15/2 -114%) Newton Tornado |
15/2(-114%) | (5) Newton Tornado 15/2, £85,000 buy after winning an Irish point in May. Showed up well for a long way when beaten just over 19 lengths into third in a 19.5f Chepstow maiden hurdle on Rules debut 23 days ago. Should improve. Point winner; third behind smart horses at Chepstow and can improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (7/1 +13%) Whatsyourproblem |
7/1(+13%) | (7) Whatsyourproblem 7/1, Has yet to build on the promise of his hurdle debut second in Ireland but he might have needed his first outing for the Fergal O'Brien stable after 5 months off when fourth of 12 in 2m Stratford maiden 6 weeks ago. Up in trip. Ability in Ireland; 2m around Stratford looked on the sharp side on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (16/5 -28%) Malicash |
16/5(-28%) | (4) Malicash 16/5, Fair form in bumpers for Ewan Whillans. Made a positive start over hurdles for new connections when second of 10 at Carlisle (17f, soft) last month and it might be worth forgiving him a lesser run at Aintree since as it came in quite a tough race. Useful bumper horse positives to take from both his runs over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (33/1 -50%) Geordies Secret |
33/1(-50%) | (1) Geordies Secret 33/1, Fourth on his completed start in points and filled the same position in a 2m Southwell bumper on last month's Rules debut. The longer trip should suit now hurdling. Showed little in his points but ran better in a Southwell bumper; still looks vulnerable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (125/1 -150%) Keepkalmandkarryon |
125/1(-150%) | (3) Keepkalmandkarryon 125/1, Has looked more one for the longer term in a bumper and novice hurdle at Market Rasen 11 months apart. Beat one home in his bumper and finished last on hurdling debut, again at Market Rasen. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (85/40 +23%) Wicked Thoughts |
85/40(+23%) | (8) Wicked Thoughts 85/40, Wide-margin winner of sole point and also landed a Musselburgh bumper last winter. Turned over at short odds on 3m Southwell hurdle debut 5 weeks ago but he rates a likely improver for his top stable. Also wears first-time cheekpieces. Bumper winner; beaten at odds of 4-5 on hurdle debut; cheekpieces turned to. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (150/1 -500%) Tank Top |
150/1(-500%) | (6) Tank Top 150/1, Modest form in 3 bumpers so doesn't strike as a likely one to make a winning start over hurdles. Beaten 16l+ in his three bumpers and will do well to trouble the pick of these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (200/1 -100%) Kalabana |
200/1(-100%) | (2) Kalabana 200/1, Placed sole outing in points but no promise as yet over hurdles. Likely to need this after 12 months off. 3rd in an Irish point but showed little in two runs over hurdles; off since last November. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
WICKED THOUGHTS was a beaten favourite when second on his hurdling debut over 3m at Southwell last month, but the drop in trip and first-time application of cheekpieces could see the five-year-old go one better here. Whatsyourproblem and Newton Tornado are others with hurdling experience to consider, while Moon Rocket cost 92,000 pounds after winning an Irish point in April and has to be noted on his Rules bow.
A chance is taken on Kim Bailey Irish point recruit MOON ROCKET, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Wicked Thoughts should step up on his opening hurdle run and is second choice ahead of Malicash, who is better than he showed at Aintree last time.
Last time was a bit underwhelming, but MALICASH had previously divided good horses at Carlisle and that form has been franked.

1st (1) (9/4 +0%) Rock My Way |
9/4(+0%) | (1) Rock My Way 9/4, Grade 2 winner over hurdles in 2023 who was placed all 3 starts over fences earlier this year and returned with a respectable third of 5 in handicap chase at Newbury (23.4f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Definite claims with his rider taking off very handy 7 lb. Has chasing experience and it was a good race in which he was third at Newbury latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (10/3 -122%) Ioupy Collonges |
10/3(-122%) | (3) Ioupy Collonges 10/3, Dual hurdles scorer who put it all together when making his third start in this sphere a winning one in 6-runner handicap chase at Perth (20.1f, soft) in April. Absent since but he appeals as the type who will rate higher still this term. Respected back up in trip. Front-running win at Perth in the spring and essentially off the same mark here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/11 +64%) Billy Boi Blue |
10/11(+64%) | (2) Billy Boi Blue 10/11, Bumper winner for Fergal O'Brien who boasts a positive profile over hurdles for this yard, showing improved form following 5 months off when winning 11-runner handicap hurdle at Wetherby (24.1f) 44 days ago, forging clear. Good prospect now chasing and he's unexposed at this trip. Recent hurdle winner at Wetherby; now chasing off 6lb higher but an improving type. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Billy Boi Blue appreciated the step up to 3m when scoring in good style over hurdles at Wetherby last month and provided he can transfer that form to fences, the seven-year-old ought to go close. However, it may pay to side with IOUPY COLLONGES, who went in over 2m4f at Perth in April and should have no issues over this longer trip. Freddie Gingell helps negate his 3lb rise with his claim and he looks the one to beat. Rock My Way can improve for his recent reappearance at Newbury and looks feasibly treated on his best form.
Interesting fare despite the small field and it could be worth siding with ROCK MY WAY. He arrives on the back of a respectable third on return at Newbury 3 weeks ago and, with his rider taking off a very handy 7 lb, he looks to hold solid claims. Billy Boi Blue built up a good record over hurdles and is feared most, ahead of the returning Ioupy Collonges who has definite potential himself to rate higher still over fences this season.
Former Grade 2-winning hurdler ROCK MY WAY has run well in all four chases and this looks easier than Newbury last time.

1st (3) (15/2 +53%) Kansas City Star |
15/2(+53%) | (3) Kansas City Star 15/2, Made a winning stable/chase debut at Huntingdon in January and also successful at Plumpton in March. However, not been in same form since and others are more appealing. Cheekpieces go back on. Patient tactics over 3m1f didn't work last time; claims on this year's 2m/2m1f form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/2 -29%) Onemorefortheroad |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Onemorefortheroad 9/2, Course winner but he saw his run of good form come to an end in a first-time visor when fifth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Plumpton (20.5f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Usual cheekpieces go back on now and he's the sort to bounce back returned to chasing. Front-runner; didn't fire last time but was in good form beforehand; bold bid possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (17/2 +29%) Mackenberg |
17/2(+29%) | (1) Mackenberg 17/2, Looked rusty after 12 weeks off when ninth of 10 in handicap chase at Cartmel (21.2f, good to soft) 152 days ago. Won this in 2022 and he can take a step forward. Interesting. Jumping has often been a major issue since he won this race in 2022; not ruled out, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/1 -10%) Bobhopeornohope |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Bobhopeornohope 11/1, A three-time winner over fences but he beat only one in 3m Exeter handicap chase on his return. Has plenty to prove. Pulled up on all three outings last season and again ran poorly when returning last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (15/2 +32%) Guy |
15/2(+32%) | (2) Guy 15/2, Scored at Kelso in May but he came in last of 6 in handicap chase at Kempton (18f, good to soft) 40 days ago. Needs to take a step forward. Game winner in the spring but returned from break with two below-par runs last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (11/10 +37%) Mole Court |
11/10(+37%) | (6) Mole Court 11/10, Made it 5 wins in this sphere at Huntingdon in April and got back on track when third of 6 in handicap chase at Sandown (20f, good) 19 days ago. In the mix with cheekpieces refitted. Gave good account at Sandown this month and has good 7lb claimer enlisted today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (28/1 -40%) Barton Knoll |
28/1(-40%) | (7) Barton Knoll 28/1, 3-time C&D winner, including this race twice, but looked firmly on the downgrade in the summer. Others are much preferred. Veteran; out of form when last seen in June but is a dual previous winner of this race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
MOLE COURT produced a better effort to finish third at Sandown earlier in the month and he goes off an unchanged mark. With Callum Pritchard claiming a handy 7lb this time around, he gets the vote to return to winning ways. Bobhopeornohope failed to fire at Exeter last month, but he was dropped 5lb for that effort and lurks on an appealing mark. Of the remainder, Kansas City Star makes the most appeal.
Ben Pauling's MOLE COURT looks the way to go here on the back of his resurgent Sandown third now his usual cheekpieces are refitted. 2022-winner Mackenberg could emerge as the main danger, with Onemorefortheroad also worthy of consideration.
The answer to this tricky puzzle might be MOLE COURT, who ran quite well at Sandown this month and remains on a workable mark.

1st (5) (4/1 +27%) Grain D'oudairies |
4/1(+27%) | (5) Grain D'oudairies 4/1, Scored at Market Rasen in March and has held his form well since, third of 6 at Fakenham (2m, good) 30 days ago. In the mix once more with tongue tie added. Consistent since breakthrough chase win in March and a likely contender again here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/2 +0%) Noble Anthem |
11/2(+0%) | (7) Noble Anthem 11/2, Opened his chase account at Sedgefield in October and not disgraced when seventh of 8 to L'eau Du Sud in Grade 2 chase at Cheltenham (15.9f, good) 13 days ago. Shortlisted. Good winner at Sedgefield in early October, and will find this easier than recent tasks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 +55%) Alien Storm |
5/2(+55%) | (2) Alien Storm 5/2, Made a winning chase debut at Plumpton in September and backed it up with a solid third of 6 in handicap chase at Kempton (18f, good to soft) 40 days ago. That form has been franked so he's a likely player. Scored on chasing debut in September and last month's third was perfectly respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (25/1 -79%) Stormin Crossgales |
25/1(-79%) | (4) Stormin Crossgales 25/1, Unreliable sort for Tom George. Raced too freely on his yard debut when fourth of 5 in handicap hurdle at Huntingdon (15.8f, good) 17 days ago. Not ruled out back in this sphere. Won a chase in May but often races too freely and/or makes jumping errors; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (85/40 +39%) Davidoc |
85/40(+39%) | (8) Davidoc 85/40, Point/hurdles winner who made a promising start switched to fences when a recent second of 6 in 2m4f Southwell handicap. Big shout for his in-form yard nudged up 1 lb. Drops back in trip after good 2m4f second on recent chasing debut; must be considered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (9/2 -35%) No Risk With Lou |
9/2(-35%) | (3) No Risk With Lou 9/2, Point/hurdles winner who took chase record to 2-4 and enhanced good record fresh in process when winning 6-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon (16.5f, good) on seasonal bow 26 days ago. Now his task is to build on that. Won at Huntingdon this month, after a layoff, and remains lightly raced over fences. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NO RISK WITH LOU posted a career best when making a winning seasonal debut in a first-time hood at Huntingdon earlier this month and a 4lb rise could prove on the lenient side for Alex Hales' gelding. Davidoc offered plenty to work with on his second-placed chase bow at Southwell a fortnight ago and the six-year-old is feared most, ahead of Alien Storm.
A tight-knit handicap in which preference is for Ben Pauling's DAVIDOC who is fancied to build on his promising Southwell second and open his account in this sphere. Alien Storm can have a say too on the back of his good Kempton third, with Grain d'Oudairies and Snowy Clouds both in the picture too.
This can go to NOBLE ANTHEM (nap), who was a stylish winner at Sedgefield last month & could still have a lot more to offer over fences.

1st (3) (6/1 -20%) Let's Go Joe |
6/1(-20%) | (3) Let's Go Joe 6/1, Sedgefield maiden hurdle winner who has tumbled in the weights and returned to form on his second run back from a break/wind op when second of 13 in handicap at Ayr (19.5f, good to soft) last month, pulling clear of rest. Fancied to be in the mix despite a 3 lb rise. One of two to pull clear of the others when second of 13 at Ayr last month; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (20/1 -25%) Be The Difference |
20/1(-25%) | (5) Be The Difference 20/1, Lightly raced these days (missed last season) and clearly not the force of old, finishing well beaten at Ayr (19.5f, good to soft) last month. Faces another struggle. Positives can be drawn from both runs last months and he's slipping down the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (50/1 -150%) Rehill Relic |
50/1(-150%) | (4) Rehill Relic 50/1, Point winner who showed promise in bumpers/novice hurdles for this yard last season. Well beaten on Exeter handicap debut/reappearance and failed to improve for a bit more extra distance at Southwell (20.4f, good) since. Others more appealing. Showed promise in qualifying races but first two handicap runs were underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (40/1 -60%) Jingle Du Gouet |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Jingle Du Gouet 40/1, Successful on the second of his 2 starts between the flags but little to shout about in maiden/novice hurdles back in the spring. Has left Simon Waugh ahead of his handicap debut/return and the market can guide expectations. Point winner; showed some hurdling promise in spring; makes stable/handicap debut here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (9/2 +82%) Glengolly |
9/2(+82%) | (8) Glengolly 9/2, Ran one of his better races so far over hurdles but a tongue tie didn't transform his finishing effort when sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f, good) 7 months ago. Handicapper given him a chance starting out for a new yard and worth a second look on reappearance. Safely held in three handicaps for Paul Webber but not ruled out on seasonal/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (12/1 -140%) Royal Deeside |
12/1(-140%) | (2) Royal Deeside 12/1, In good hands but no better than modest form over hurdles so far, stepping up on reappearance ridden closer to the pace when third of 9 in handicap at Warwick (16f, good) earlier in the month. Considered heading up in trip. 0-7 over hurdles but ran well when placed over 2m this month and now tries a new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (11) (10/1 -33%) Cuban Court |
10/1(-33%) | (11) Cuban Court 10/1, Bumper winner who went without the cheekpieces worn when last seen 5 months prior and ran respectably when third of 7 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good to soft) recently. Another step forward required if he's to open his account. Lost way after good second here on h'cap debut in January but recent run was encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (9/2 -80%) Hiero Sport |
9/2(-80%) | (7) Hiero Sport 9/2, Found some improvement on his previous hurdles efforts to get off the mark on his second handicap start after 5 months off at Fakenham (20f, good) recently, drawing clear before last and just kept up to work. Retains handicapping scope on bumper debut form so he's high on the shortlist. Won readily by 6l at Fakenham last month and still has low mileage; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (2/1 +75%) Am Still Here |
2/1(+75%) | (13) Am Still Here 2/1, Beaten a long way in novice/handicap hurdles last season. Will need to take a significant step forward returning from 8 months off. Well beaten in first two handicaps but was prominent in the betting both times. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (33/1 -136%) Professor Klump |
33/1(-136%) | (1) Professor Klump 33/1, Idled and only just held on in a 17f maiden at Carlisle in February prior to trailing in last of 7 on his handicap debut at Bangor the following month. Placed on second of 2 starts in Irish points but didn't look a natural over fences on return last month so quickly reverts to hurdles. Pulled up on recent seasonal/chase debut; back hurdling with a point to prove. |

|PU| (6) (33/1 -83%) Auba Me Yang |
33/1(-83%) | (6) Auba Me Yang 33/1, Winner at Ffos Las in February 2023 and possibly needed the run after 19 months off but did stop pretty sharply nonetheless when pulled up at at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) earlier in the month. This should reveal what ability remains. Pulled up this month, after a long absence; needs to get career back on track. |

|PU| (9) (50/1 -257%) Moroccan Moon |
50/1(-257%) | (9) Moroccan Moon 50/1, Left previous Rules form behind when third at Catterick in February but a bit below that level at Ayr (20.4f, heavy) 11 days later. Will need to hit the ground running on return from 9 months off the track. Ran okay in her first two handicaps but has been absent since February. |

|PU| (14) (150/1 -88%) Keeper |
150/1(-88%) | (14) Keeper 150/1, Fair form on the Flat for Roger Charlton in 2021 but has offered little for new yard on the level and over hurdles, showing nothing switched to the Flat after 12 months off (had another wind op) at Chepstow (10f, good) in June. Back over hurdles and can only be watched. Pulled up on both hurdling starts last year and also struggled in a Flat race in June. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
HIERO SPORT ran out a ready winner on his reappearance at Fakenham last month and another bold showing looks likely. A 6lb rise looks workable for the seven-year-old and this appears a suitable opportunity for him to follow up. Fellow in-form rival Royal Deeside is a potential improver up in distance and Alan King's gelding may serve the most resistance to the selection, while market support for stable debutant Glengolly off a falling mark would be interesting.
Plenty in with chances but the suggestion is HIERO SPORT, who is lightly raced for his age and found some improvement on his previous hurdles efforts to get off the mark at Fakenham last month. He can make light of a 6 lb rise at the expense of Let's Go Joe, who returned to form on his second run back from a break when runner-up at Ayr recently. Royal Deeside and Glengolly can fight out minor honours in a tricky finale to solve.
Hiero Sport is respected but LET'S GO JOE ran a big race in defeat at Ayr last time and still looks well treated after a 3lb rise.
Ths is the racecard key.
