17:05 Doncaster Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tentative vote goes to BLAZING SON, who didn't show much last time out at Thirsk but is better judged on his previous efforts on the all-weather this year. With his only victory on turf coming on heavy ground and given he produced a strong runner-up effort over C&D last August, Bryan Smart's charge is narrowly preferred to Supreme King, who scored comfortably at Kempton on his penultimate outing. King's Crown is capable of being in the mix as well.

KING'S CROWN went with some promise on his first outing for Michael Dods when a recent ninth at Thirsk and can build on it to capitalise on a reduced mark. Supreme King is feared most if back on song after fluffing his lines at Kempton last time out, with the returning Tipp Town not ruled out either for a yard among the winners.

The suggestion is SUPREME KING, who handles soft ground and possibly found the race coming too soon when a beaten favourite at Kempton.

17:40 Doncaster Maiden (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Karl Burke won this last year with subsequent Group 3 winner Elite Status, and he could have another smart two-year-old on his hands with ARABIE. Related to a whole host of smart winners, the son of Dandy Man showed up well for a long way on debut at Thirsk, before a more experienced sort got the better of him late on. With normal improvement expected, he can see off the likes of creditable Windsor fourth Off The Bench and newcomer Studious.

Given how green he was in the preliminaries, it was all the more encouraging that ARABIE could shape so well when runner-up on debut at Thirsk 23 days ago, giving best only late on to one boasting experience. Very much the type to improve, he can make it second time lucky. East Tyrone and Sonic Blue are a couple of newcomers to note.

Karl Burke's ARABIE produced a solid effort (second) on debut at Thirsk, so has hopefully found a suitable contest in which to strike.

18:15 Doncaster Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

LITTLE ROSE has been a work in progress for the William Haggas stable, but she looked to have got the hang of things when scoring with consummate ease at Beverley last week. A 6lb penalty for that success will make life tougher, but she seems more than capable of making up almost three lengths with the reopposing Solar Bentley (second) from their clash at Wolverhampton in March. Another to note is Surrey Force, who could be a different proposition tackling handicaps for the first time.

It all came together for LITTLE ROSE at Beverley last week and a 6 lb penalty is unlikely to stop her going in again if showing up in similar form. Wolverhampton runner-up Solar Bentley can follow her home ahead of Surrey Force, a potential improver in handicaps for the Kevin Philippart de Foy stable.

Under 6lb extra, the logical selection is last week's easy Beverley winner LITTLE ROSE. Richard Fahey's Solar Bentley is next best.

18:50 Doncaster Handicap (Class 4) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ISLE OF SARK posted another creditable effort in defeat when a close-up third over 1m2f at Chelmsford last week. The combination of a switch to turf and a return to 1m4f shouldn't inconvenience the six-year-old and a belated second career victory could be in the offing. A first-time hood could settle the keen-going Incremental, who is feared most, while the in-form Fleur De Mer is also likely to be in the mix.

FLEUR DE MER has been in excellent form this year and showed a willing attitude when second at Thirsk 12 days ago, so she gets the marginal vote ahead of Isle of Sark, who has also been knocking on the door lately. Incremental is another one to consider despite an underwhelming reappearance.

The vote goes to FLEUR DE MER, who was runner-up on soft at Thirsk 12 days ago and is only 1lb higher on this drop back in grade.

19:20 Doncaster Maiden (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from Sherman Tank's debut third at Newcastle in November and David Simcock's gelding must enter calculations on his return to action. However, newcomer CORONADO KING, a half-brother to French Group 1 winner Castle Lady, boasts an attractive pedigree and he could have too much class for these rivals. The Exceed And Excel colt may take this en route to bigger things, while any market support for fellow debutant Transitioning would also be interesting.

Newcomers TRANSITIONING and Coronado King both make plenty of appeal on paper, while Sherman Tank has to be respected given the promise he showed on his introduction at the backend of last year. It will of course be interesting to see how the betting shapes up but, as things stand, marginal preference is for Transitioning, whose red-hot yard saddled a winning 3-y-o newcomer at Yarmouth on Tuesday and this fellow may well follow suit.

The newcomers wouldn't need to be anything special but otherwise SHERMAN TANK sets the standard on last autumn's debut third.

A heavy ground winner at Ayr when last seen in October, LAVA STREAM appeals as the one to beat given her ability to handle testing conditions. A mark of 74 does not look beyond the Too Darn Hot filly, although handicap debutant Blake could make a good fist of things now switched to the turf. Royal Tapestry might prove best of the remainder.

Tough to rule out any of the quartet but the vote goes to ROYAL TAPESTRY, who is the only one with a previous handicap victory to his name and first-time cheekpieces may well eke out that bit extra. Sole filly Lava Stream and Blake are both making their handicap debuts and they can chase home the selection in that order.

This is a tight call between the two handicap newcomers in Blake and LAVA STREAM but the vote goes to David O'Meara's filly.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mr Irrelevant cruised to victory at Ripon five days ago and would appear to hold every chance of following up under a 6lb penalty, but a chance is taken on WOODLEIGH. Declan Carroll's charge looked in need of the run when finishing third, behind Mr Irrelevant (second), at the North Yorkshire venue a fortnight ago and he could step forward eased 2lb in the ratings on his second start following wind surgery. Others to note include Ottoman Force and Eighth Army.

MR IRRELEVANT showed much improved form when scoring on slow ground at Ripon last week and looks well in under a penalty. He can go in again. Ottoman Force and Fistral Beach may give him most to think about.

Topweight MR IRRELEVANT (nap) kept on strongly to draw clear on soft ground at Ripon on Saturday and is 1lb ahead of the handicapper.
