The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Truth Be Told is the pick of those with previous racecourse experience. After catching the eye at Naas, he was made favourite at Galway but proved disappointing after missing the kick. A chance is taken on Jessica Harrington's SOME PERFORMANCE in light of the fact that the son of Breeders' Cup Mile winner Oscar Performance holds an entry in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. Balibel was first home in a barrier trial at Leopardstown and can put that experience to good use, while Aidan O'Brien starts off three sons of Wootton Bassett including Expanded, who is a half-brother to a juvenile Group 3 winner over 7f.
Aidan O'Brien looks to hold a very strong hard here with a trio of interesting newcomers and his SERENGETI is taken to emerge on top from stablemates Expanded and First Wave. Truth Be Told possesses much the best form of those with experience and can also have a say.
TRUTH BE TOLD has the experience edge over his rivals and he wouldn't need to improve much on his debut run at Naas to win this

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GISELLE stands out here given the fact that she was sent off odds-on when beaten by talented stablemate Bedtime Story at Leopardstown in June. The latter went on to win her next three starts in stakes company including a Group 2 and the selection, although possibly vulnerable after an absence, should be hard to beat. Aidan O'Brien also runs a couple of interesting newcomers in the shape of Galileo filly Eternal Spirit and Mariinsky Theatre, who is a sister to a dual Group 3 winner. Edge Of Seventeen was a promising third on debut at Naas, while Kitty Rickets showed improvement when second at Cork.
Aidan O'Brien's Frankel filly GISELLE made a very promising start when runner-up at Leopardstown in June and can return in style here. Stablemates Eternal Spirit and Mariinsky Theatre both make plenty of appeal on paper and can chase home the selection in that order. Edge of Seventeen completes the shortlist.
GISELLE only found the now 112-rated Bedtime Story too good on debut and could be a cut above her rivals

13/2(-8%) | (2) Ano Syra 13/2, Useful mare. Course winner. 2¾ lengths seventh of 11 to My Mate Alfie in Renaissance Stakes at this C&D (good to soft, 22/1) 6 days ago. Nineteen runs since last win in 2022. Tough assignments in G1/G3 company lately; drop in class a help but might struggle again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (16/1 -100%) Navassa Island |
16/1(-100%) | (9) Navassa Island 16/1, Fairly useful filly. C&D winner. Creditable 2¾ lengths fourth of 11 to Shandy in Ballyogan Stakes at Naas (5.9f, good to soft, 10/1) 41 days ago. More needed here however. Solid in stakes company this year but was behind Shandy and Firebird when fourth at Naas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (80/1 -220%) Elinor Dashwood |
80/1(-220%) | (7) Elinor Dashwood 80/1, Fairly useful filly. 12/1, good second of 6 in minor event at this course (7f, good to soft) 6 days ago, no match for winner. Very hard to make a case for though. 2nd in contest here last week but plenty to find on official ratings to trouble these. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (8/11 +42%) Firebird |
8/11(+42%) | (8) Firebird 8/11, Lightly-raced winner. Excellent head second of 11 to Shandy in Ballyogan Stakes at Naas (5.9f, good to soft, 15/8) 41 days ago. Stable in good form. Another bold show likely. 5lb pull in the weights with Shandy for a head beating last time at Naas; massive chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (25/1 -108%) Shandy |
25/1(-108%) | (1) Shandy 25/1, Useful filly. Latest win at Naas in August. Twenty fourth of 25 in handicap at this C&D (good, 40/1) 20 days ago. Sort to bounce back. Beat Firebird in Naas Group 3 in August; poor in Curragh handicap since; will need rain. |

9th (4) (20/1 -186%) Little Queenie |
20/1(-186%) | (4) Little Queenie 20/1, Useful mare. Course winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this year. 5/1, below form 4½ lengths fourth of 10 to She's Quality in listed race at Tipperary (5f, good) 34 days ago. Still enters calculations. Didn't fare badly on first try in Listed grade but was behind Ano Syra on that occasion. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
LITTLE QUEENIE has steadily gone up through the ranks in handicaps and ran well when fourth in stakes company over 5f at Tipperary latest. Paul Flynn's likeable grey is equally as effective over this trip and has a good record at this venue. Firebird was narrowly defeated by Shandy in a Group 3 contest at Naas but the latter, who has finished down the field in a handicap here since, was aided by racing on the quicker part of the track and might struggle to uphold that form. Dance Night Andday has had a fine season and landed a valuable handicap over 7f at Leopardstown last time.
FIREBIRD arrives on the up and looks the way to go on the back of her excellent Naas second last time out. Recent Leopardstown scorer Dance Night Andday rates a big threat though, with Oujda and Little Queenie also in the picture.
FIREBIRD (nap) was an expensive purchase and she is 5lb better off with Shandy for a head beating when the pair met at Naas

18/1(-29%) | (8) Gustavus Weston 18/1, 3-time C&D winner. Twenty four runs since last win in 2021. Eyeshields on for 1st time, fourth of 10 in handicap (10/1) at Tipperary (5f, heavy). Off 130 days. Three-time C&D winner but hasn't won in over three years; needs a deluge of rain. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE BEAR TRAP is still seeking a first victory but has gone close several times, including over course and distance in May. John Geoghegan's three-year-old was coming back from a break when not beaten far at Fairyhouse recently and gets the vote. Mile End turns out quickly under a penalty after bolting up over a mile at Bellewstown on Wednesday. She won here over this trip as a two-year-old and any rain that arrives will help her cause. Never Shout Never has been running consistently of late.
SURPASS AND SHINE has been knocking on the door under Billy Lee in recent starts and can gain a deserved success. Last year's winner Sunday Sovereign looks set to make a bold bid in this race again after finishing a good second at Naas last time. 3-y-os Fivecromwellplace and Green Valentine complete the shortlist.
Many with chances but the vote goes to FIVECROMWELLPLACE, who has rock-solid form in C&D handicaps and went very close at Fairyhouse

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WHIMSY has strong claims after gaining a deserved win last time. That came over 1m6f at Carlisle and followed a fine second over this trip at York when Aine O'Connor was on board. Zoffanien comes here in good form but has been running over longer trips and may have to settle for minor honours again. Polemon was a winner over this distance at Tipperary last month and has posted a couple of solid efforts since, while Sylkie is also noted.
WHIMSY went close at York under Aine O'Connor prior to scoring at Carlisle and still looks nicely handicapped back from a break. Zoffanien, the mount of Jody Townend, heads the dangers along with last month's Galway winner Sylkie and Denis Hogan's Polemon.
Aine O'Connor got a good tune out of the consistent WHIMSY at York back in June and you would imagine this race has been a target since

7/1(-56%) | (2) Grand City Hall 7/1, 4/1, career best when winning 9-runner handicap at Cork (6f, good to firm) 24 days ago, readily. 6 lb rise won't prevent another bold bd on that evidence. 3yo gained first handicap win on fast ground at Cork but may be best suited by 6f. |

10th (4) (2/1 +27%) Greek Flower |
2/1(+27%) | (4) Greek Flower 2/1, Course winner. 4/1, shaped well when third of 15 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 7 days ago, slowly away and finished well. Shortlist material. Won twice last October and may be poised to strike now after another fine run over C&D. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Having met over C&D last weekend, there is little to choose between Harry's Hill, Emerald Harmony, GREEK FLOWER and Apache Outlaw. The selection won twice last year, including once at this venue, and has been runner-up in a couple of valuable Curragh handicaps this term. Dontspoilasale (second) and Harry's Hill (third) filled the minor places over 5f at Down Royal on Monday, while Grand City Hall has won twice over 6f at Cork this year.
GREEK FLYER has been shaping up very well despite failing to add to her tally in 2024, really strong at the finish over C&D a week ago so she might be the answer. Grand City Hall and Harry's Hill look to be the chief threats.
A first win of the season wouldn't be coming out of turn for GREEK FLOWER who has been running fine races and is good in the autumn

33/1(-200%) | (1) Acotango 33/1, First run since leaving Harry Charlton when below form third of 6 in minor event at Laytown (7f, 7/2) 19 days ago, slowly away. Must improve. Decent miler on AW and turf in Britain; should come on from Laytown third on Irish debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WRIST ART won twice around this time last year including on soft ground over a mile at Thurles and is down to a competitive mark. The Tim Doyle-trained gelding got no luck in running at Listowel last time and may reverse places with the runner-up Clarita. Nahori and Lady Arwen have similar profiles to the selection having also dropped in the ratings and come here off the back of promising runs. Hurricane Helen is another for the shortlist following her recent third at Dundalk.
HURRICANE HELEN ran up to her best at a trip that stretched her when third at Dundalk 2 weeks ago, which suggests she may still have a bigger performance in her. Lady Arwen and Clarita head the dangers.
Darragh O'Sullivan has been impressing and his presence in the saddle is a plus for ANVIKA who ran well over this trip at Navan
