14:15 Cork Maiden 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

This looks a good opportunity for JUPITER ROCK. Sent off a well-supported favourite on his most recent start at the Curragh, he finished a solid fourth of 17 there, doing his best work towards the finish. The Fastnet Rock colt is upped in trip now to a mile-and-a-half and this should prove ideal. Promises To Keep represents Aidan O'Brien and coming from a family of stayers, she is given second preference. A sister to 2015 Ascot Gold Cup runner-up Kingfisher, she failed to make an impact on debut at Punchestown almost a year ago. Upped in trip now and getting age and sex weight allowances, she should be able to make her presence felt. Rioja Alta caught the eye when a never nearer sixth on debut at Leopardstown and it'll be interesting to see how he fares, while others for the shortlist are Van Demon, Penny Jar and the Jessica Harrington-trained debutant Hardpoint.

This can go to VAN DEMON, who matched his promising debut form when second at Dundalk last month and ought to relish the return to this stiffer test of stamina. Jupiter Rock and Promises To Keep are feared most.

LTO Selection:

14:45 Cork Handicap 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

It might be worth taking a chance on German import OAKLEY. One from eight in his native land, he starts off for Tony Mullins now, who of course worked wonders with fellow German import Princess Zoe, before she was unceremoniously removed from his care. Seamus Heffernan is a positive booking on the Protectionist five-year-old, who won't have to be a star to claim this wide-open, low grade affair. John McConnell and Denis Hogan are both double-handed, with Ciao Adios an interesting contender for the latter. A dual winner in the UK when trained by Richard Hannon, she will be ridden by Sean Bowen, who claims a valuable 7lb. A case can be made for many others, with the Colin Keane-ridden Romann sure to have plenty of supporters. Other leading hopes are Bear Claws, Inchiquin Maid, Deluca Chop and five-time winner Sil Ver Klass.

SIL VER KLASS was pulled up over fences at Killarney last time but he was in good order on the Flat towards the end of last season and he's on a handy mark, so gets the nod over Romann, who ran well on the level at the same course in July. Oakley is an obvious player starting out for a new yard.

LTO Selection:

15:15 Cork Stakes 12f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Fitted with first time blinkers, LYGON STREET might be able to make the breakthrough. An expensive yearling purchase, he ran a fine race in against much more experienced rivals when fourth in the Apprentice Derby at the Curragh. Back in slightly calmer waters now, the son of Australia should go close. The Emmet Mullins-trained Our Boy Wes is given second preference with Colin Keane aboard. Yet to win on the level, he made the perfect start to his hurdling career at Ballinrobe. Recent course winner Quiz Test should give a good account of himself with James Ryan claiming a valuable 7lb, while Killarney victor Ameerat Jumaira (first time cheekpieces) is another leading hope. Timeless Piece and Grey Fable are others that warrant respect.

QUIZ TEST has upped his game since joining Sean Byrne and is taken to follow up last month's course victory. Ameerat Jumaira and Our Boy Wes can also make their presence felt.

Quite competitive with preference for the top-weighted LYGON STREET, whose Curragh fourth against some experienced rivals was promising

LTO Selection:

15:45 Cork Maiden 10f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

STARRY EYED is the most experienced of the sextet and may have found a decent opportunity to open her account. The Aidan O'Brien-trained daughter of Galileo showed promise last year and again on her reappearance at Leopardstown this spring. She was absent for over four months before again running with credit over this trip at the Curragh and should progress again from that run. Delicate Girl beat all bar Countess Of Tyrone at the Galway Festival but was also engaged to run at Bellewstown on Tuesday evening and riding arrangements suggest her well-bred stablemate Mirror In Space could be one to keep in mind on debut. Feathertop made a promising start at Gowran and obviously has plenty of scope for improvement.

FEATHERTOP shaped with plenty of encouragement when third at Gowran on debut 73 days ago and, while she hasn't achieved as much as Delicate Girl and Starry Eyed, she has more potential, so she gets the nod.

16:20 Cork Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LOCAL GIRL was comprehensively beaten by Gypsy Woman in July but is 16lb better off and contests her first handicap. She seems ground-versatile, is suited by this distance and while she was again well held by the winner at Leopardstown last-time, seemed to take a small step forward (reversing form with Danvers Gold) and should compete from 71. Gypsy Woman may have been unsuited by soft ground at the Curragh last month but had previously beaten Danvers Gold and the selection at Roscommon. She is suited by conditions but has plenty weight. Coumshingaun finished ahead of Gypsy Woman at the Curragh and while also 5lb better off, might ideally prefer six furlongs. Kami succeeded on Sligo 'soft' while seven should stretch Sioux Spirit's stamina. Transcendental has well held on recent runs.

LOCAL GIRL has improved with each start and remains low mileage. She can make a successful switch to handicapping. Sioux Spirit and Kami rate the principal dangers.

LTO Selection:

16:50 Cork Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TRUEBA is a five-time winner who is fairly ground-versatile and is in good form. His last win was in September 2021 but his rating has fallen back to a more manageable level recently. Well-bred ex-Godolphin's Racing Royalty has shown bits of useful form and ran well on handicap debut over this distance in June. He hasn't run since then however and might prefer easy ground. Alfarida disappointed on a recent Dundalk run but had previously shown form at this level and should compete. Doctor Grace's handicap form is at Dundalk and while he could be effective on turf, lacks a recent run. Hope And Innocence has been well held in handicaps but is a three-year-old and might progress. General Idea stayed on at Gowran recently but drops in distance.

It's been a while since TRUEBA's latest success but he has slipped to an attractive mark and has shown enough on his last two starts to suggest that he's ready to strike. The 7-y-o may have most to fear from Hope And Innocence, who wasn't beaten far at Dundalk recently and she should pick up a race before long. Racing Royalty's effort at Limerick represented a step back in the right direction and he is also accorded respect, along with Alfarida and Doctor Grace.

TRUEBA looks a great each-way bet here with so little in the way of viable opposition. He can get Wesley Joyce back among the winners

LTO Selection:

17:20 Cork Handicap 7f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

C&D winner GOLDEN DAYS was once been rated 63 so can defy a recent 7lb hike to a revised 58 mark. Ideally suited by seven furlongs, she beat solid five-time winner Trueba at Gowran last month and again tackles a winneable handicap. Dual winner Designer Cailin has been running well over this distance without winning and has obvious claims from the stands' side stall. The Dark Angel-sired Angel's Feather contested high-class maidens last year and ran well on handicap debut over C&D in May. She subsequently disappointed at Leopardstown but has had a mini-break and remains open to some progression. Super Cub has been running well but has won just once from 28 runs while slow-starting Dragon Of Malta represents a yard which is doing well and might improve from her Killarney reappearance, when she raced too keenly. American In Paris' best form is over shorter trips, while Lasting Peace drops in distance.

GOLDEN DAYS is thriving all of a sudden and still looks nicely handicapped based on old form, so she gets the nod as she bids to complete the hat-trick. Designer Cailin is a big danger and Angel's Feather is one to note dropping back in distance.

Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
