14:15 Cork Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

TRUSTYOURINSTINCT ought to appreciate this better ground. This Churchill gelding won two of his three races on the Flat before switching to jumping. He was beaten roughly the same distance into fourth at Fairyhouse and into third in a Grade 3 at Naas, on much slower ground, and the form has been franked. The 116-rated Palamon has been placed in a couple of maiden hurdles and sets a fair standard. Katakana was only 3/1 for her debut at Naas, but didn't show. Significant improvement wouldn't be surprising, though. Gavin Cromwell's Royal Reprobate is a half-brother to a horse who won two bumpers and a maiden hurdle for the stable, while Dutch Gold isn't out of it.

PALAMON got firmly back on track in a first-time tongue strap when runner-up at Limerick last month and is the percentage call to go one better. Trustyourinstinct has an iffy head carriage but is an obvious threat down in grade, while dual-bumper winner Katakana is well worth another chance having shaped as if amiss on her hurdling debut at Naas in January.

Coming with a health warning TRUSTYOURINSTINCT gets a tentative vote

14:50 Cork Maiden Hurdle 17f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

OSSIE'S LODGE bounced back to form when pipped by a nose in Fairyhouse. He is clearly well thought of by Tony Martin as he has competed in a Listed bumper at Limerick (third) and was unplaced in a valuable handicap hurdle at the same track. His bumper victory came on drying ground at Down Royal. A mistake two out did Master Otis no favours in Fairyhouse, but he has form on better ground. Barrier stayed on well to deliver on the Flat at Gowran Park on Thursday. She is in good humour as she won her maiden hurdle at Tramore last month and would have to rate a threat if turned out again quickly.

Quite a competitive novice hurdle with the vote going to BARRIER, who proved better than ever back on the Flat when landing a 16-runner handicap at Gowran 2 days ago and is still relatively unexposed as a hurdler. Ossie's Lodge and Star Harbour head the dangers in that order.

An open-looking rated novice hurdle in which STAR HARBOUR is taken to get off the mark hurdling now back on a sound surface

15:25 Cork Maiden Hurdle 19f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Huntingdon bumper winner ROSALYS could go well for Henry de Bromhead. She switched to him after that victory in Britain and showed potential in fourth in a Navan maiden hurdle in September. Lazy Bones tries a new trip and gets better ground for the first time. She represents powerful connections and has to be respected after being placed in Navan. Cast A Spell faced a stiff task in Punchestown and is better judged on her runner-up berth in a mares' maiden hurdle at Cork. Lothbeg showed more in third when upped in trip to an extended 2m3f in Down Royal, while Field A Thistles has one notable piece of form in a valuable bumper.

ROSALYS shaped encouragingly sent hurdling when fourth at Navan back in September and, with improvement anticipated over today's longer trip, she's selected to get off the mark at the second attempt in this sphere. Cast A Spell could bounce back now returned to calmer waters, while Lazy Bones and Lucky Viv are others worthy of consideration.

The most appealing contender is probably the one with most potential in the shape of ROSALYS, who won a bumper in Britain.

15:55 Cork Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DOWNTHEREFORDANCIN made a very pleasing return to action when beaten half a length into second in a novice handicap hurdle at Naas. Drying ground shouldn't hold any fears for him. Rebel Rose was third in this grade on seasonal reappearance at Tramore and looks dangerous in first-time blinkers. Dubeyeracingcraic won a maiden hurdle on decent ground at Downpatrick last summer and is entitled to improve from a spin on the Flat last month. Joyeux Vivo and Anyway are others to scrutinise, while Gordons Aura has been given a chance by the handicapper and would be interesting if strong in the market after a lengthy break.

JOYEUX VIVO shaped as if still in good form after 11 weeks off when sixth at Fairyhouse and this unexposed sort could be the answer. Rebel Rose and Downtherefordancin head the dangers.

Wide open, with a tentative vote going to ANYWAY on whom Carl Millar's claim could prove crucial

16:30 Cork Maiden Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

MAXI MAC GOLD has been placed in his last three maiden hurdle outings and the form looks strong. This will be the best ground he has encountered, but it is usually a positive for progeny of his sire Doctor Dino. Find A Fortune is rated 1lb superior to Maxi Mac Gold and his connections will see this as a good opportunity. He has been placed twice over hurdles on testing ground, albeit beaten a fair way, but could appreciate this much better ground being by the sire Soldier Of Fortune. Toor Khov has had three solid efforts over flights, while Now So Jake has won his last two point-to-points by wide margins.

WALK AWAY HARRY was heavily supported to land a Punchestown handicap after some eye-catching efforts and, while he disappointed in the event, he should be able to make amends back in calmer waters. Maxi Mac Gold and Find A Fortune are closely matched with the selection in terms of what's been achieved but neither have the same potential.

Several with similar chances but perhaps MAXI MAC GOLD (nap) has a bit more improvement in him now upped in trip and on better ground

17:05 Cork Handicap Hurdle 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

LADYEZE MAN represents a shrewd yard and was touched off on handicap debut over 2m3f at this track in October. He wasn't seen after that until Naas last month where he didn't land a blow on testing ground. Probably in need of that outing, a chance is taken with him stepping up to this trip for the first time and there are stamina influences in his pedigree. Tramps Like Us was a creditable sixth in a higher grade over this trip at Bellewstown. The latter's stablemate Walk In Time is running for the first time since August but has winning form over this trip on a decent surface and is another to consider.

This has a very open look to it and it might be worth chancing the fitness of WALK IN TIME on reappearance given she was a tidy winner of her sole previous start over 3m. Miss D Hunter is open to plenty of progress, with Toor Moon completing the shortlist.

This looks very difficult. A chance is taken on REWRITE THE SCRIPT who has hinted at winning potential on goodish ground.

17:40 Cork NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Declan Queally junior gave TWENTYFOURCARROT a good mention before her debut at Wexford last month. The daughter of Balko from the family of Long Run was sent off 20/1 but acquitted herself well when third in what looked a useful contest and, with the benefit of that experience, can go close under the very capable John Barry. Leloopa had Dream On Baby behind when third on soft ground at Naas last month and can contend if handling this sounder surface. Emmet Mullins sent out a bumper winner at Tipperary on Thursday and introduces Churchfield Sunset who is a half-sister to six winners including last season's crack novice hurdler Ballyburn.

CHURCHFIELD is a half-sister to the classy Ballyburn and starts out in a race that may not take much winning, so she's the one to side with over Leloopa and Twentyfourcarrot who both arrive on the back of solid third-placed finishes but don't set the bar all that high.

The eyes are drawn to CHURCHFIELD SUNSET, an Emmet Mullins newcomer who is a half-sister to none other than Ballyburn.
