13:40 Chester Handicap (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Giselles Izzy had a subsequent winner back in second when winning over 6f at Ayr last month and she must be respected off a 2lb higher mark. That said, preference is for the locally-trained KINDEST NATION. Hugo Palmer's charge was sporting a first-time visor (retained) when scoring with more in hand than the winning margin suggests over 7f at Haydock last week, and a 6lb penalty may not be enough to anchor her. American Rose is also respected.

If the visor continues to work then KINDEST NATION might be up to providing her in-form local yard with another winner. Fellow last-time-out scorers Giselles Izzy and American Rose may give her most to think about.

A speculative option to consider is TAKES TIME, who is unexposed over this trip and ought to be suited by today's return to soft turf.

14:10 Chester Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

QETAIFAN showed up well for a long way before fading into fifth late on in a warm Sandown maiden over 7f last month and, dropping back to 6f, he gets the vote to land the spoils for a stable which is operating at a 24 percent strike-rate at this venue this year. Sands Of Marra was readily outclassed in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood, but he had shown promise prior to that and must enter calculations, along with Mekhled.

SANDS OF MARRA confirmed the positive impression made on debut when opening his account at Windsor next time and he's easily excused his latest effort in the Molecomb at Goodwood. He gets the marginal vote over Qetaifan, with Herb Fennel also considered.

Sands Of Marra may find it tough to concede his penalty to QETAIFAN, who has displayed considerable promise in two good maidens.

14:45 Chester Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

There is lots to like about the Hugo Palmer-trained Top Bins on paper and any support in the market for the son of Soldier's Call should be heeded. That said, BOB MALI gets the vote to hit all the right notes here. Ollie Sangster's charge justified strong market support on his debut when running out a game winner over 6f at Ayr last month and, with that experience under his belt, he shades preference. Sir Geoff Morgan is respected now sporting cheekpieces for the first time.

BOB MALI looked a good prospect when getting off to a winning start at Ayr and can successfully concede weight all round here. George Boughey's Dark Rosa could emerge as the main danger to Ollie Sangster's colt ahead of newcomers Dothan and Top Bins.

There may be more to come from Bob Mali but TOP BINS looks a likely newcomer on paper and he could be worth chancing.

15:20 Chester Handicap (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Turned out again quickly after a taking success in a claimer at Wolverhampton on Monday, B ASSOCIATES should be able to handle a 5lb penalty in this company. Thornaby Pearl has been running well at Ripon of late without getting his head in front and he could be set for another bold bid. Others to note include Bibendum, First Company and Oso Rapido.

An open-looking sprint handicap with the tentative vote going to RUN THIS WAY, who is having a fine season and got back on track with a good effort at Southwell 18 days ago. Oso Rapido ran well at Thirsk on his most recent outing despite not looking particularly well suited by the return to 7f, so he's a player back down in trip, with Hallowed Time and B Associates others to consider.

Run This Way and Glendown can feature but THORNABY PEARL (nap) may well be the answer now back on a slower surface.

15:50 Chester Handicap (Class 5) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A tentative vote goes to JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON, who has done well since being upped in trip this year and, despite his most recent effort at Southwell being a tad disappointing, he looks capable of bouncing back over further. This stamina test is likely to suit recent Musselburgh scorer Trojan Sun, who must prove himself on soft ground, while Berkshire Sundance returns after almost a year off the track for his in-form connections.

JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON stands out as the one who could produce a dominant display. He's less exposed than the remainder and promises to be well suited by the step up in trip, particuarly with the emphasis on stamina on soft ground. Berkshire Sundance can get involved if tuned up and Dereham should be thereabouts.

Dereham finished strongly last time. Soft ground would give him more to prove, though, so a chance is taken on JUDGEMENTOFSOLOMON.

Made all for comfortable win at Ripon last month; open to further improvement; respected.

16:30 Chester Handicap (Class 4) 14f  Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Trainer Andrew Balding won this contest last year and looks to have another ideal candidate in the shape of WHO'S GLEN, who was runner-up in a deep race at Southwell last time out. The son of Gleneagles looked in need of further on that occasion and he gets that opportunity now, with taking Ripon scorer Oosterpark looking best placed to chase him home. Consistent performer The Crafty Mole is another to bear in mind.

THE CRAFTY MOLE has thrived this season, recording a fifth win of the campaign when promoted to first at Thirsk (beaten by a head but suffered interference in the final 1f) on his latest outing, so he looks to hold leading claims. Who's Glen has also been going the right way this year and could be the main danger, ahead of Oosterpark.

Interesting turf debutant WHO'S GLEN is taken to defy top weight and open his account. Oosterpark is second choice.

17:05 Chester Handicap (Class 4) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Love Billy Boy took the silver medal home at Ascot last week and is aided by his plum draw in stall one here, so he ought to go close off an unchanged mark. However, the vote goes to PAWS FOR THOUGHT, who is a four-time course winner and finished a close-up fourth over 6f here on his latest outing. Donald McCain's six-year-old can continue his fine form and return to winning ways. Mudamer and Mercurial are just two others to consider.

Irish-challenger MERCURIAL can race off the same mark as when a very good Roscommon runner-up last time out so looks the way to go here. Mudamer shaped well when a recent third at Beverley and is next on the list ahead of Brighton-scorer Berkshire Nugget and course-winner Love Billy Boy.

Mercurial has an unfavourable draw but otherwise holds major claims, while PHOENIX OF DREAMS and Quest For Fun are interesting.

17:40 Chester Handicap (Class 4) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Celtic Warrior was just touched off by a neck when second in this grade at Epsom last month and should remain competitive off a 2lb higher rating. However, AVIEMORE ran a big race when runner-up over 1m4f on Lingfield's Polytrack off this mark last week and he is taken to go one better now returned to the trip and surface of his sole victory. User Amistoso is another to note in first-time cheekpieces.

AVIEMORE has benefited from going up in trip on his last 3 starts, producing a good effort when runner-up to a well-treated rival at Lingfield 8 days ago, so he is taken to double his tally this time around. Celtic Warrior ran well trying this distance for the first time on his latest outing and is respected.

The return to Chester, combined with first-time headgear, may enable USER AMISTOSO to get off the mark. Aviemore is second choice.
