13:20 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Aljadel seemed to run out of stamina late on when beaten a length into third over 1m2f at Brighton on her return to turf. She can step forward off the same mark, but preference is for SUNNY CORNER. He ran on well after a poor start to score at Bath and could go in once more off just 3lb higher, in a first-time hood. On Song was more than six lengths behind him that day, but had a terrible run and can finish much closer now.

SUNNY CORNER got off the mark at Bath earlier this month and hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper for that victory. He may be able to follow up. Loose Tongue and Dancing The Dream rate the principal dangers.

Loose Tongue was an eyecatcher last time on her handicap debut, but preference is for Bath winner SUNNY CORNER.

13:50 Chepstow Stakes (Class 5) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Clive Cox won this last year and has Sioux Nation newcomer Throne Of Glory in here, though a market watch may tell us most about his chances. Echo Lima missed the start on her Ascot debut before running green throughout and she looks a likely improver, but SWINDON is hard to oppose. A winner on his one start at Wolverhampton, when making all under Cieren Fallon, he might be able to shrug off his penalty.

SWINDON has been off 7 months since his debut, but showed more than enough promise then to suggest a race of this nature should be well within his compass. Mount Teide's form entitles him to play a big part, while Dubawi Dream and Pacific Prince are interesting newcomers.

Preference is for MOUNT TEIDE, who sets a useful standard on his clear second in a big field at Newbury two weeks ago.

14:25 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Rhubarb has won here four times and finished second three times, with one victory off a higher mark, suggesting she can go close after keeping on well to finish runner up over C&D earlier in the month. JACQUELINA took this race last year and is back for more after winning all three starts since returning to the turf. She may have one more victory in her, while Colors Of Freedom might run into a place again after last week's Lingfield second.

JACQUELINA is thriving and had something in hand when completing the hat-trick at Brighton earlier this week. She is taken to score again, Rhubarb and Notre Maison should also go well.

Top of the list is last year's winner JACQUELINA (nap), who has won three in a row including a dominant display at Brighton on Tuesday.

15:00 Chepstow Handicap (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

SARAH'S VERSE arrives here 4lb well-in under a penalty following a comfortable success at Bath and Ron Harris' mare is likely to prove a tough nut to crack once more. Connie's Rose chased home the selection last week and is expected to be in the mix once again, especially with first-time cheekpieces applied. Others to consider include Treacherous and Maharajas Express.

SARAH'S VERSE bounced back to form to a track she goes well at when scoring at Bath last week and with an in-form apprentice taking over in the saddle, Ron Harris' 7-y-o is fancied to follow up at the expense of Treacherous, who is entitled to come on for his reappearance third at Windsor earlier this month. Connies Rose, who was well beaten by the selection last week, rounds off the shortlist.

This can go to SARAH'S VERSE who surged clear at Bath last Friday and is 4lb well in under a penalty for that success.

15:35 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

GILDED WATER stepped forward from a promising start in the Wood Ditton to finish third at Windsor and rising in trip promises to bring about a fair amount of improvement from William Haggas' gelding. Old Saxony improved when third at Yarmouth earlier in the month and has to enter calculations, while James Webb and Domaine Des Combes, a 325,000gns purchase at Tattersalls Book 1 in October 2022, are others capable of making an impact.

A few interesting types in this maiden and it's GILDED WATER who gets the nod to make it third time lucky and continue his race-by-race progression upped to 1¼m for the first time. James Webb showed plenty to work on amidst greenness when fifth at Nottingham earlier in the month and he can provide most resistance, with debutante Domaine des Combes completing the shortlist.

The vote goes to GILDED WATER, who sets a good standard on his third at Windsor and is open to more progress on this step up in trip.

First run for yard after leaving Saeed Bin Suroor (for 2,000 gns) and has been gelded.
Changed hands for 2,000gns in September and is best watched back from long absence.

16:15 Chepstow Maiden (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Midair didn't receive much luck in running when fourth at Ascot on his handicap debut and has to warrant plenty of respect on his return to maiden company. That said, he finished second on his three outings prior and the son of Frankel may prove vulnerable to some less-exposed types. Trouville has achieved a decent level of form on both starts so far, but the vote goes to HAJARA. Runner-up on debut at Chelmsford, Roger Varian's colt is entitled to have learned plenty from that experience and is taken to go one better now switched to turf.

MIDAIR would have finished quite a bit closer without meeting trouble when finishing fourth on handicap debut at Ascot earlier this month, so this looks a good opportunity for Harry Charlton's colt to get off the mark back in maiden company. Trouville has found just one too strong on both outings so far, but he may have to settle for silver once again, with Hajara and Kingdom of Stars another couple open to improvement after promising debut efforts.

Top of the list is MIDAIR, who sets a clear standard back in a maiden and gets the vote ahead of Trouville and Hajara.

16:45 Chepstow Handicap (Class 6) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Sir Mark Prescott's yard is in flying form at present and KNIGHT TEMPLAR may prove the one to side with. He improved for the step up in trip when caught close home at Beverley and there looks plenty more to come over middle-distances. Remarkable Flight opened her account with a victory at Brighton and should go well again, while Masonbrook Meadow found only one too good at Nottingham and is not out of this. Budding drops down in distance after going close on fast ground at Windsor.

A few in with a squeak but preference is for KNIGHT TEMPLAR, who wasn't exactly strong in the betting but made a significant step forward when finishing runner-up over a much longer trip on handicap debut at Beverley earlier this month. He can get the better of Theworldsnotenough, who has returned an improved model this season. Masonbrook Meadow and Budding can fight out minor honours.

The top two are the ones to be interested in. Theworldsnotenough did little wrong last time but KNIGHT TEMPLAR can go one better.

17:15 Chepstow Handicap (Class 5) 12f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

ABSOLUTE QUEEN returned to turf with an easy success at Brighton. A 5lb penalty is reduced by her rider's allowance and she can go in again. Taritino had been racing over hurdles without success before reverting to the Flat and finishing runner-up over track and trip. He makes more appeal than Flame Of Kodiac, who sprung a surprise over a mile here earlier in the month but has something to prove over this far.

It's tough to look beyond ABSOLUTE QUEEN, who bolted up at Brighton 10 days ago, and provided this doesn't come too soon, she'll take some stopping if in the same mood under a penalty. The main danger may emerge from Taritino, who has slipped in the weights and ran better than for a while in this sphere when runner-up over C&D recently. Kitty Foyle can edge out Flame of Kodiac for third spot.

This looks between Taritino, who finished second here last time, and ABSOLUTE QUEEN who won easily at Brighton.
