(2) (4/1 -20%)4/1(-20%) | (2) Upper Hand 4/1, Improved on handicap bow when second of 8 in nursery (9/1) at Yarmouth (7f, soft) 17 days ago. Not taken lightly. More latest but it remains to be seen whether the drop to an easy 6f works his way. |

Zachary |
(3) (6/5 +36%)6/5(+36%) | (3) Zachary 6/5, Course winner. Winner here in October. 9/4, creditable fourth of 11 in nursery at Newcastle (5f) 13 days ago, faring best of those held up. Shortlist material. Leading claims but can pull hard and he didn't see it out in one try over this trip. |

Alfanatical |
(6) (7/2 +36%)7/2(+36%) | (6) Alfanatical 7/2, Thrice-raced maiden. 150/1, sixth of 15 in novice at York (6f, heavy) 20 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut. Should have more to offer. Trainer has been among the winners, including with a couple of 2yos; is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Talking Rubbish |
(1) (8/1 -45%)8/1(-45%) | (1) Talking Rubbish 8/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, sixth of 8 in novice at Bath (5f, heavy) 15 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Others more persuasive. Enough the past twice to suggest she's capable of figuring at this level now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ritzy |
(5) (12/1 -50%)12/1(-50%) | (5) Ritzy 12/1, Creditable fifth of 11 in nursery at Kempton (6f, 12/1) 15 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Can give a good account. Exposed maiden who's still to finish placed for a yard enduring a quiet year; headgear on. |

(8) (18/1 +10%)18/1(+10%) | (8) Lyndsanda 18/1, Seventh of 12 in nursery (25/1) at Newcastle (6f) 52 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Visored for 1st time. Below expectations in the spring and hasn't gone on at all; a first-time visor goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ludberg |
(4) (40/1 -150%)40/1(-150%) | (4) Ludberg 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form sixth of 10 in nursery at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 33/1) 30 days ago, not clear run. Trainer had none placed from 37 2yo runners over the past five seasons; hard to back. |

(7) (125/1 -594%)125/1(-594%) | (7) Someone Like You 125/1, Ninth of 11 in nursery (66/1) at Kempton (6f) 15 days ago. Big prices/well beaten all starts to date, latterly behind Ritzy; little to recommend her. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
A winner over 5f here on his penultimate outing, ZACHARY wasn't quite able to pick up the leaders when turned out under a penalty at Newcastle six days later. Charlie Johnston's charge ought to relish a step up in trip on that evidence, though, and he gets the nod. The booking of Billy Loughnane aboard handicap debutant Alfanatical catches the eye and she is worth a market check, while Upper Hand is most appealing of the remainder.
ZACHARY fared best of those held up under a penalty at Newcastle 2 weeks ago so remains of interest. Upper Hand left previous efforts behind when runner-up on his nursery debut at Wolverhampton and is feared most ahead of Ritzy.
Zachary needs to settle up from 5f and the vote goes to TALKING RUBBISH, who's run fairly in a maiden and a novice on turf lately.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Bulldog Drummond sets the standard with an official rating of 70 and must be respected back in a maiden, but preference is for EDERGOLE'S GIFT. Conrad Allen's filly finished a creditable second at Brighton in September and any further improvement can see her shed the maiden tag. Karl Burke often excels in these types of contests, so Graceful Mary warrants a market check ahead of her racecourse debut.
GRACEFUL MARY appeals on paper and hails from a yard that can ready its newcomers so this Blue Point filly is taken to go in at the first time of asking from Bulldog Drummond, who holds the clear edge on form but has to shrug off a below-par showing at Lingfield. Edergole's Gift also enters calculations on the back of her good Brighton second along with debutantes Quercine and Sky Blue Dreams.
The standard set by Bulldog Drummond is not daunting and GRACEFUL MARY, a well-bred newcomer, is taken to make a winning debut.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NEAPOLITAN was on target in a warm Kempton novice last time with a performance that suggested he ought to more than capable of saddling a penalty today. Wonder Smile was no match for a ready winner over C&D a fortnight ago, but Hugo Palmer's charge won't go down without a fight here. Wide Margin finished fifth in that same contest and might be able to close the gap with improvement on the cards.
LOUIS QUATORZE found a valuable sales race in France too competitive last time but can get back on track in this company. Kempton winner Neapolitan is the obvious threat under a 7 lb penalty.
Louis Quatorze can be dangerous back at 7f but there was a lot to like about NEAPOLITAN's win at Kempton and he is preferred.

King Of Ithaca |
(5) (5/1 -43%)5/1(-43%) | (5) King Of Ithaca 5/1, Successful at this C&D last year and returned to winning ways at Kempton (7f) in September. Run best excused when seventh of 10 in handicap (4/1) back at Kempton 22 days ago, left poorly placed, so he enters calculations. C&D win as 2yo; running well for new yard, solid 7f win then race didn't go to plan latest. |

Mohareb |
(4) (8/1 +43%)8/1(+43%) | (4) Mohareb 8/1, Course winner but seventeen runs since last win in 2022. Below form when sixth of 7 in claimer (8/1) at Kempton (6f) 8 days ago. However, he lurks on a dangerous mark back in handicap company. Below best on last 2 starts but usually runs well on this track; potential reviver. |

(7) (8/1 -14%)8/1(-14%) | (7) Dagmar Run 8/1, Ran no sort of race when last of 11 in handicap at Yarmouth (1m, good, 9/1) 67 days ago. Elusive Angel |
(2) (9/1 +25%)9/1(+25%) | (2) Elusive Angel 9/1, Placed on first 4 starts but well below form when last of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f, good to soft, 5/2) 43 days ago. (1) (11/4 -38%)11/4(-38%) | (1) Touchwood 11/4, Back to best when winning 8-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 13/2) 7 days ago, just kept up to work. Carries penalty but he still remains on a workable mark on old form. Leading contender. Won in some style over 7f at Lingfield last week; still well treated despite penalty. |

Wilde And Dandy |
(9) (11/1 -38%)11/1(-38%) | (9) Wilde And Dandy 11/1, Making his first start since leaving Michael Bell (tongue strap applied), unsuited by drop in trip when seventh of 12 in handicap (18/1) at Newcastle (6f) 37 days ago, Improvement required. Turned out again quickly after a comfortable success at Lingfield last week, TOUCHWOOD is taken to follow up under a 5lb penalty. That may be at the main expense of The Spotlight Kid, who has been knocking on the door of late, and the unexposed Elusive Angel, who is expected to bounce back from an underwhelming effort at Yarmouth. King Of Ithaca has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate victory at Kempton.
TOUCHWOOD bounced back to his best when scoring comfortably at Lingfield a week ago and a penalty might not be enough to prevent him from following up. King of Ithaca was left poorly placed at Kempton so could bounce back to pose the biggest threat to the selection, with The Spotlight Kid completing the shortlist.
These conditions were ideal for TOUCHWOOD at Lingfield last week and he looks the one to beat under a penalty.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
It may be a long time between drinks for GOT NO DOLLARS, but he has been knocking on the door of late and this looks like as good an opportunity as any to regain the winning thread. Stuart Williams' charge is narrowly preferred to Villalobos, who is winless since March but has been runner-up on two of his last three outings, and the capable Bletchley Storm. A return to the all-weather might aid the cause of Someone's Wish with soft ground proving to be a barrier at Yarmouth last time.
GOT NO DOLLARS has hit some form now and looks ready to end his losing run. Someone's Wish rates the main threat back on AW ahead of the in-form Adace.
Villalobos and Got No Dollars should be involved but SOMEONE'S WISH looks a good candidate for this new trip and is preferred.

Chico Dulce |
(10) (80/1 -60%)80/1(-60%) | (10) Chico Dulce 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. First run since leaving Phillip Makin when ninth of 12 in maiden (150/1) at Windsor (6f, good to firm) 24 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Plenty to find on form. More realistic opportunity now handicapping but still not easily recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LILKIAN bounced back to winning ways with a commanding performance at Lingfield last week and a 5lb penalty for that success may not be enough to prevent the six-year-old from going in again. A highly encouraging second in a claimer at Kempton last time out, Masterclass can give the selection the most to think about, along with Crown Dreams, who could be off a nice mark on his handicap debut.
LILKIAN is drawn better than on his last visit to this track and makes plenty of appeal under a 5 lb penalty in a contest where few arrive at the peak of their powers. Masterclass bounced back to form in a Kempton claimer last time and would rate as the biggest threat if able to back that up, with Confederation narrowly preferred to complete the placings.
Solid recent form is thin on the ground and LILKIAN is taken to follow up last week's cosy Lingfield success.

Street Parade |
(5) (4/1 +29%)4/1(+29%) | (5) Street Parade 4/1, C&D winner. 8/1, good third of 7 in handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good) 23 days ago. Ought to be in the shake-up again. C&D winner off 9lb higher last November; placed on turf the last twice; each-way claims. |

Mehmo |
(7) (5/1 +50%)5/1(+50%) | (7) Mehmo 5/1, 3 wins from 14 runs this year. Latest win at Beverley in July. 11/4, last of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 23 days ago so needs to get back on track. Not fired on all cylinders of late but he has the ability to play a big part off this mark. |

Universal Grace |
(9) (7/2 +36%)7/2(+36%) | (9) Universal Grace 7/2, C&D winner. Winner here in September. 5/1, creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at this C&D 14 days ago. Needs considering. C&D win in September is solid form & not seen to best effect latest; still well treated. |

Thank The Lord |
(2) (10/1 -60%)10/1(-60%) | (2) Thank The Lord 10/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Brighton in September. 9/1, fair fourth of 7 in handicap at Brighton (5.3f, good) 23 days ago. In the mix. C&D winner; two turf wins this summer; not dismissed but draw could have been kinder. |

Jacquelina |
(1) (11/2 +18%)11/2(+18%) | (1) Jacquelina 11/2, Winner at Chepstow in June. Off 4 months before encouraging fifth of 6 in handicap at this C&D (8/1) 5 days ago. Can take a step forward now so she merits serious consideration with few miles still on the clock. Should be sharper for recent return but there are other pace influences to contend with. |

Bernard Spierpoint |
(4) (17/2 +20%)17/2(+20%) | (4) Bernard Spierpoint 17/2, 3 wins from 12 runs this year. Seventh of 10 in handicap at this course (6f, 10/1) 28 days ago. Not taken lightly if shrugging off latest effort. Not at his best the last twice and others have more compelling claims. |

Lucy Lightfoot |
(11) (28/1 -40%)28/1(-40%) | (11) Lucy Lightfoot 28/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. One of her better efforts when fourth of 7 in handicap at this C&D (50/1) 21 days ago. Others are still preferred. Found life tough for current stable but latest C&D 4th was slightly more positive. |

Desert Illusion |
(3) (80/1 -100%)80/1(-100%) | (3) Desert Illusion 80/1, 80/1, last of 14 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) 83 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Tongue strap on for 1st time. First run for yard after leaving Ismail Mohammed with work to do. Ended time with former yard badly out of sorts; new yard quick to fit a tongue-tie. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The in-form Suanni arrives here off the back of a narrow defeat over C&D last time and he looks primed to offer another bold bid from the front today off the same mark. Darryll Holland's charge is likely to have company at the head of affairs in the shape of Jacquelina, who wasn't beaten far despite finishing fifth over C&D last time, which could set up the race for STREET PARADE. Michael Attwater's charge would ideally prefer further but he can finish strongly off a brisk early gallop.
Little between the principals on form but JACQUELINA should be all the better for her recent C&D fifth after an absence so edges the vote from in-form C&D winner Street Parade. Universal Grace is another C&D scorer who can have a say along with the handily-weighted Mehmo.
Street Parade has been threatening but UNIVERSAL GRACE still appeals as being ahead of her mark and this may be run to suit.

Needs considering despite a 4 lb rise. Back to form when beating 11 rivals in a C&D fillies' handicap 4 weeks ago; 4lb rise fair. |

Boasty |
(5) (5/1 +41%)5/1(+41%) | (5) Boasty 5/1, 3-time C&D winner. Creditable fourth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at this C&D, running on. Off 100 days. Can give another good account. Three-time C&D winner but all in Class 6; solid run in Class 4 when last seen in July. |

Expert Witness |
(7) (6/1 +35%)6/1(+35%) | (7) Expert Witness 6/1, Winner at Lingfield in September. Creditable fifth of 11 to Bold Ribb in handicap (8/1) at Lingfield (10f, AW) 6 days ago. In the picture. Well placed in slowly run race when winning at Lingfield in Sept; behind Bold Ribb latest. |

Udaberri |
(4) (6/1 -50%)6/1(-50%) | (4) Udaberri 6/1, Arrives on a losing run but he shaped encouragingly when fifth of 11 to Expert Witness in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 37 days ago. Very much one to consider off a handy-looking mark. Running well in defeat this year but he'll need to find extra if he's to come out on top. |

Phantasy Mac |
(3) (11/2 +45%)11/2(+45%) | (3) Phantasy Mac 11/2, 12/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Yarmouth (10.1f, good to soft) 44 days ago. Others more persuasive. Not at her best in recent starts but conditions fine and she's dropping in class. |

Merry Minister |
(8) (50/1 +60%)50/1(+60%) | (8) Merry Minister 50/1, Winner at Thirsk in June. Seventh of 9 in handicap at Windsor (8.1f, good to firm, 80/1) 24 days ago. Back up in trip with more required. Struggled since handicapping and the return to this trip isn't enough to tempt. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BOLD RIBB looked ahead of the handicapper when scoring in ready fashion over 1m 2f at Lingfield last time and he can follow up that success. John Ryan's runner has been handed a 5lb penalty for that success, but the four-year-old won more cosily than winning distance may suggest so that burden appears lenient. Moogie rates as the biggest danger after winning over C&D last time and she isn't ruled out of defying her 4lb rise, while Boasty heads the remainder.
UDABERRI has slipped to a good mark and caught the eye when fifth at Lingfield last time out so looks the way to go in this competitive handicap. Moogie scored with a bit up her sleeve over C&D so rates a big threat despite having a 4 lb rise to overcome. In-form pair Bold Ribb and Expert Witness command plenty of respect too.
Moogie's C&D win has since been franked but BOLD RIBB (nap) won with authority at Lingfield last week and can defy a penalty.
Ths is the racecard key.
