LTO Selection:

17:40 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 5) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

This represents a considerable drop in grade for FAKHAMA and the daughter of Kingman is fancied to build on a fair fourth in Listed company at York in May. William Haggas' filly kept on well to win over 7f on her debut at Newbury and, with improvement forthcoming, she can get the better of Shining Jewel. Hard Act To Follow is another to consider in the hands of Oisin Murphy.

FAKHAMA drops back down in grade after a York listed race fourth and is the clear form pick to defy a penalty for her Newbury debut success. Shining Jewel didn't confirm debut promise at the first time of asking, but has been given a break and she should still progress, so looks next best in a race lacking depth.

This can go to FAKHAMA who was thought good enough to tackle Listed company last time and wasn't disgraced.

LTO Selection:

18:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

A comfortable winner over 7f at this track last week, THOMAS EQUINAS is the one to beat stepping up in distance. He has to shoulder a 5lb penalty for that success, but did score with a bit up his sleeve and looks capable of going in again. Wallaroo posted a game win at Wolverhampton last month and is feared most off 3lb higher, while Chagall completes the shortlist.

THOMAS EQUINAS won in emphatic style here last week and looks well-in under his 5 lb penalty. He can follow up. Monaadhil and Chagall look the likeliest dangers.

Thomas Equinas beat MONAADHIL over 7f here last time, but the latter is taken to reverse the placings over this longer trip.

LTO Selection:

18:45 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 3) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Only narrowly denied over this distance at Lingfield on his penultimate outing, RETURN TO DUBAI must hold every chance on the back of a fair run for fifth at Newmarket in June. Gelded since, the son of Ribchester remains unexposed and can take advantage of the switch to an artificial surface. He gets the vote ahead of the class and distance-dropping Wonder Legend, who finished in mid-division in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot. Diamond Ranger is another to bear in mind.

IMPERIAL ACE is enjoying a good season but still features on an attractive mark so is fancied to bag a third success with this return to 10f also a plus on his polytrack debut. Howth wasn't seen to best effect at Haydock last time and could emerge as the chief threat now he is easing in the weights. Diamond Ranger, Paris Lights and Return To Dubai all need factoring into an open handicap too.

The vote goes to dual C&D winner GREATGADIAN who returns to the AW off an inviting mark.

LTO Selection:

19:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

With two wins from three starts over 1m2f, this trip has brought the best out of MAYFAIR GOLD so far and, having responded kindly when tried in a hood over C&D last time out, she has a live chance with the headgear retained. Bath maiden winner Moonspirit and the lightly-raced Silver Nightfall both have scope to improve now they step up in trip.

George Boughey's MOONSPIRIT had a bit left in the tank when getting off the mark at Bath last month and appeals as the sort to keep improving now going into handicaps so she gets the vote. Mayfair Gold must enter calculations on the back of her good recent C&D second, while both Hey Lyla and Silver Nightfall are weighted to have a say too in this open-looking handicap.

This can go to MAYFAIR GOLD (nap) whose record over C&D reads 212. Her latest second could hardly be working out better.

LTO Selection:

19:45 Chelmsford Stakes (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

There is a strong chance One For The Ladies can shine now she drops into a classified stakes for her first visit to this circuit. The five-year-old is already a dual winner on the all-weather and should handle this surface. However, GYPSY NATION is unexposed as a sprinter and, based on an a solid effort over C&D last week, he could be a bit of value against the mare. Cappananty Con is also considered.

A trappy classified event in which it could be worth siding with THE WAITING GAME to gain her maiden win now she has the services of Oisin Murphy and drops to 6f for the first time which should suit. Cappananty Con wasn't seen to best effect when eighth at Wolverhampton last time out so this C&D winner is next on the list ahead of One For The Ladies.

Preference is for the veteran STORM MELODY who drops to this level for the first time on his 97th outing.

Ahead of her mark when winning on AW debut (5f); up 5lb but should progress.

Ground to make up on Carry On Aitch on turf form; needs improvement for return to AW.

Not beaten too far when 5th of 6 over 5f at Lingfield in May; lesser effort since.

20:15 Chelmsford Handicap (Class 6) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Cuban Grey is noted after several consistent efforts, but he is burdened with giving weight away all round and a wide draw does him no favours. Similar comments apply to recent Wolverhampton winner Speed Dial Baileys, who could have been better positioned than stall eight to cope with a 5lb higher mark. With all that in mind, a chance is taken on DARLO PRIDE, who is still unexposed and appeals given the form of his latest start has worked out reasonably well.

PROFITABLE DAWN is still to register a victory but she caught the eye when an unlucky-in-running sixth at Yarmouth last time so is worth siding with off a 2 lb lower mark. Autumnal Breeze is feared most on the back of her good recent Ayr second, with Wolverhampton scorer Speed Dial Baileys also well in the mix.

Autumnal Breeze is respected but SPEED DIAL BAILEYS looked to have AW potential when winning at Wolverhampton and is preferred.
