LTO Selection:

13:40 Catterick Maiden (Class 5) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mia Toretto may prove popular here for the David O'Meara yard, who have been in among the winners recently, but she might not get things all her own way up front in this field and preference is for CURIOUS ROVER. Only beaten a neck at Ayr earlier this month over a furlong further, he was headed inside the final furlong and could go one better over this shorter trip. Nasneen is an interesting newcomer worthy of a market watch for any signs of confidence.

CURIOUS ROVER built on the promise of his debut when finishing runner-up in an Ayr maiden 18 days ago and a repeat may well be enough to see him get off the mark here. Whogoesthere was a shade underwhelming at Beverley last time but can feature on the pick of his efforts. Newcomer Nasneen and Mia Toretto are others fancied to be thereabouts.

This can go to CURIOUS ROVER, who sets the standard on his close second at Ayr and is open to more progress on this drop to 5f.

LTO Selection:

14:10 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 14f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Three-year-olds have won the last four runnings of this contest which points to the chances of THIRD BATCH, a winner last time out over a mile and a half when getting outpaced mid-race before finishing with a flourish. The added quarter mile here may bring further improvement and an extra 3lb from the handicapper may not stop her following up. The Dancing Poet has won three times here on the Flat off higher marks and enters calculations, along with Absolute Ruler, who has won over hurdles since his last run on the level.

BIG CHEESE remains a maiden but it remains early days for Ed Bethell's charge, including at this sort of trip, and with blinkers enlisted he could be worth chancing to come out on top dropped into class 6 company. 3-y-o Third Batch, Daaris and Jamih head up the dangers.

This looks tricky, with plenty holding each-way claims. Slight preference is for DAARIS ahead of Third Batch.

LTO Selection:

14:40 Catterick Handicap (Class 4) 5f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Match Play could go well here having come home third at Redcar in June off the same mark when only beaten a length, and he may prove to be the biggest rival to ALBEGONE. Tim Easterby's gelding looked back to his best when winning with something in hand over course and distance last time out and a 5lb penalty may not stop him winning again. Castan is another to consider having been beaten a nose at Musselburgh.

ALBEGONE confirmed himself back in rude health when seeing off a pair of last-time-out winners over C&D 9 days ago and, turned out under a penalty, he could well be worth siding with to follow up in this groove. Havagomecca, Match Play and Castan are just a trio of the others to consider in a competitive affair.

Tim Easterby's ALBEGONE (nap) took advantage of a reduced mark to win in good style over C&D and can follow up under a 5lb penalty.

LTO Selection:

15:10 Catterick Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Enderman was compensated for his creditable efforts in defeat when prevailing at Nottingham at the start of the month and shouldn't be far away off only 3lb higher. However, LANGHOLM makes slightly more appeal judged on his performances at this venue of late, and it may be the seven-year-old's turn to have his day in the sun running off the same mark as his third-placed effort last Monday. Shark Two One and John Kirkup have the form to get involved too.

LANGHOLM is going through a good spell, again running with plenty of credit when finishing a close-up third over 7f here 9 days ago. Operating 3 lb below his last winning mark, the drop back to 6f will hold no fears and he can make a bold bid. Nottingham-scorer Enderman back in class 6 company and Wade's Magic head up the dangers.

Preference is for LANGHOLM, who has run plenty of good races this season including when short-headed over C&D two starts back.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Mezzo Soprano is a sister to the useful Cool Lightning and a race of this nature should be within her compass if judged on pedigree. The Exceed And Excel filly requires a check in the market, with any support worth noting. The vote, though, goes to AGNES GREY, who has some fair form to her name and could put her experience to good use to gain a breakthrough success at the sixth time of asking. Better is expected from Knights Affair, who didn't appear to appreciate underfoot conditions last time out at Nottingham.

MEZZO SOPRANO's price rose considerably as a 2-y-o and making a good deal of appeal on paper for a yard no stranger to success with newcomers, she could be the way to go in a novice lacking a great deal of depth. Should she not meet expectations, Agnes Grey looks the pick of those with experience and is feared most ahead of Knights Affair.

The vote goes to the Crisfords' striking newcomer MEZZO SOPRANO, who cost 360,000euros as a 2yo. Agnes Grey sets the standard.

16:15 Catterick Stakes (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Elettaria did well to land a maiden handicap over this C&D last Wednesday after being given plenty to do and should go well in search of a double, but HIGHLAND QUEEN was only beaten three-quarters of a length that day and is 8lb better off with the reopposing winner now. Bryan Smart's filly looked set to record her first success when going clear on that occasion and could go one better on more favourable terms here. Without Delay has been running well enough in defeat of late to be considered in this company.

HIGHLAND QUEEN was worn down by Elettaria at Carlisle last week but she shaped very well on that occasion and from 5 lb better terms, she's strongly fancied to reverse the placings. A bigger threat may emerge in the form of Without Delay.

Bryan Smart's filly HIGHLAND QUEEN shaped with promise when second to Elettaria at Carlisle and can go one better at these weights.

16:45 Catterick Stakes (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

Doomsday was only denied by a neck in a similar C&D event on his penultimate outing but he may have to play second fiddle again, this time to MONOPHONIC. She has the joint-highest official rating in the field along with the aforementioned Liam Bailey-trained gelding and the downgraded Mr Trevor, but Tony Coyle's three-year-old gets 7lb from those older rivals today and the form of her encouraging fourth-placed effort in a Beverley handicap last month is working out well.

DOOMSDAY went close here on his previous start and can notch up a second C&D win. Hot Scoop and Mr Trevor are feared.

C&D scorer DOOMSDAY looks the way to go given he had been knocking on the door until poorly drawn at Wolverhampton last time.
