One More Bottle |
(5) (16/1 -33%)16/1(-33%) | (5) One More Bottle 16/1, Foaled February 3. Mukhadram gelding. Brother to 7f/1m winner Alotabottle and half-brother to several winners, including 5f winners Triple Jaye and Smokey. Dam ran once. Another worth a check in the betting for clues on racecourse bow. Brother to 7f-1m winner Alotabottle (RPR 89), and a half-brother to several other winners. |

Mister Gan |
(4) (25/1 -56%)25/1(-56%) | (4) Mister Gan 25/1, Once-raced colt. Showed a bit when seventh of 9 in minor event at York (6f, good to firm, 22/1) on debut 73 days ago, weakening approaching final 1f. This ought to reveal a good deal more. Did kick off at York (6f, good to firm; 22-1) but was only seventh in a field of nine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) (0.83/1 +40%) Ice Max |
0.83/1(+40%) | (3) Ice Max 0.83/1, Dark Angel colt who offered something to work on when fourth of 9 in minor event at Haydock (7f, soft, 15/2) on debut 17 days ago. More to come and good shout. Seemed to cope okay with the soft ground when a keeping-on fourth at Haydock. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (3.33/1 +26%) Buttercross Flyer |
3.33/1(+26%) | (9) Buttercross Flyer 3.33/1, Twice-raced filly. Improved on debut form when second of 11 in maiden (14/1) at this C&D (good) 13 days ago, no match for winner. Not out of things with a repeat. Prominent off a fast pace when just missing out over C&D 13 days ago; softer ground now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (8/1 -45%) Veiled Illusion |
8/1(-45%) | (8) Veiled Illusion 8/1, Foaled April 9. €54,000 foal, 50,000 gns yearling, Kodiac colt. Half-brother to ungenuine 8.6f winner Word of Honour. Yard can ready a newcomer and he's one to note. Dam Group placed and stable 4-13 with its 2yo runners here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6.5/1 -63%) Respectful |
6.5/1(-63%) | (6) Respectful 6.5/1, Dandy Man colt. Easy to back and shaped as if he'd derive plenty from the experience when fifth of 11 in maiden at Nottingham (6f, soft) 18 days ago, headway before fading final 1f. Capable of better. Beaten 10l by last week's Group 2 Goodwood winner Vandeek on good to soft at Nottingham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (11/1 +45%) Storm Alice |
11/1(+45%) | (10) Storm Alice 11/1, Twice-raced filly. 7/1, fourth of 7 in seller at Chester (7f, good) 39 days ago, keeping on when hampered well inside final 1f. Needs to take a step forward if she's to figure here. Beaten in a seller last time but ran well and not to be underestimated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (150/1 -50%) Too Much Too Young |
150/1(-50%) | (7) Too Much Too Young 150/1, Once-raced gelding. 80/1, tenth of 11 in maiden at this C&D (good) on debut 13 days ago, in rear and making no impression. Passed over. Lots to find with Buttercross Flyer on their clash here; went off 80-1 that day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (80/1 -21%) Apache Angel |
80/1(-21%) | (1) Apache Angel 80/1, Foaled April 27. 4,500 gns foal, Twilight Son gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 7f-1m winner Wild Lion and 1m winner Prisha. Dam, maiden (seemed best at 1¼m). Yard wouldn't be a renowned source of debutant winners. Dam well related; gelded ahead of debut and looks best watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The penny dropped late on for ICE MAX on his debut, as he hit the line well to finish fourth at Haydock in what was a highly-promising start to his career. The son of Dark Angel should have plenty more to come and he could prove tough to beat. His stablemate Respectful could be the biggest threat after finishing fifth behind subsequent winner Vandeek, who took the Richmond last week. Any market support for the 50,000gns purchase Veiled Illusion should be noted.
ICE MAX produced a promising first effort when fourth in a Haydock novice event over this trip 17 days ago and, well bred and in good hands, he earns the vote to take a step forward and come out on top. Veiled Illusion rates an interesting newcomer for James Tate whilst the selection's stablemate, Respectful, who was fifth behind a subsequent Group 2 winner on debut is another to note. Buttercross Flyer completes the shortlist.
Ice Max is preferred of those with experience but VEILED ILLUSION represents a yard that has done well here with its 2yos.

Needs a couple of these to falter. All wins at 6f, but stays 7f; fair run after meeting trouble last time; one to consider. |

8th (7) (14/1 +0%) Mekbat |
14/1(+0%) | (7) Mekbat 14/1, Modest gelding. 13/2 and blinkered for 1st time, below form sixth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 10 days ago. Not discounted. Ex-Hannon; chance on his best form but below par last twice (blinkers tried last time). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (16/1 +20%) Butterfly Island |
16/1(+20%) | (2) Butterfly Island 16/1, 18/1, fifth of 8 at Ayr (8f, good to soft) 1 day ago. Chance if rediscovering old form. 22-race maiden; some fair form this time, including over 1m at Ayr on Monday; bit to find. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (18/1 -50%) Kraken Florida |
18/1(-50%) | (5) Kraken Florida 18/1, Modest gelding. Winner at Newcastle in February. 14/1, bit below form sixth of 10 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good) 19 days ago. Habitual slow starter; 6f AW winner in Feb but not as good last twice; better on the AW. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (7/1 +61%) Red Command |
7/1(+61%) | (9) Red Command 7/1, Modest gelding. Last of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 13/2) 40 days ago. Still looking for first success, 0-11; tailed off on the AW last time but has a chance on his two previous runs on turf. |

12th (11) (100/1 -52%) Sir Dotti |
100/1(-52%) | (11) Sir Dotti 100/1, Remains a maiden after 32 Flat runs. Eighth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 50/1) 27 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere. 32-race maiden who has plenty to find on recent form and would be a surprise winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (6) (66/1 -230%) Lil Bit Of Magic |
66/1(-230%) | (6) Lil Bit Of Magic 66/1, Poor filly. Fifth of 7 in handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm, 150/1) 32 days ago. Hard to recommend. Career-best despite pulling hard last time but bled from the nose previous outing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RUM RUNNER has been unlucky to fill the runner-up spot on each of his last three starts, with the latest of those efforts coming at Beverley in a class 6 handicap and he should be more than capable of taking a race of this nature in his current mood. Doomsday won't make it easy for the selection after finishing second in a similar event at a big price in first-time cheekpieces at Musselburgh, while last-time-out Wolverhampton winner Tea Garden could have a say if transferring her recent form to the turf.
Preference is for TEA GARDEN, who got back to winning ways under this pilot at Wolverhampton last month and is relatively unexposed on turf. Doomsday and Rum Runner can also make their presnce felt.
The choice is C&D winner SPARTAKOS who is ideally suited by 7f on slow ground. Run Runner should also go well.

1st (6) (5/1 +0%) Easter Icon |
5/1(+0%) | (6) Easter Icon 5/1, Winner at Southwell (16.5f) in April. Creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f, 5/1) 64 days ago. Still needs to prove himself as effective on turf. AW winner over this trip off the same mark in April and didn't run too badly last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (12/1 +0%) Oh So Chic |
12/1(+0%) | (7) Oh So Chic 12/1, Boasts just one win from 23 starts but often runs well around here, back to form when fourth in a C&D handicap in June. Subsequent run at Redcar was a disappointing one but no real surprise where she to bounce back from an easing mark. Fair fourth over C&D before struggling at Redcar; becoming hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (3.2/1 +42%) Lord Torranaga |
3.2/1(+42%) | (5) Lord Torranaga 3.2/1, Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. 11/2, good third of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (16.2f) 10 days ago, switched final 1f and staying on. Hard to knock recent consistency and this mark well within reach. Bit to find with Spantik on their runs here last month but won't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3.2/1 +20%) Hellenista |
3.2/1(+20%) | (3) Hellenista 3.2/1, Ran best race for a while when second in 8-runner handicap at Carlisle (17.2f) in June and not disgraced when fourth in a stronger affair at York (16.2f) latest. Ease back down to class 6 company a plus and she's not dismissed out of hand. Latest defeat came in a Class 4 at York and this is more her level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (8.5/1 -21%) Winklevi |
8.5/1(-21%) | (4) Winklevi 8.5/1, Back on the scoreboard at Chelmsford (2m) in January and ran best race for a while (in refitted visor) when third at Chepstow (2m) on his penultimate start. Similar form when fourth at Wolverhampton (16.6f) latest and he's not out of things back on turf. Never lower in the weights and arrives here after respectable shows. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (18/1 -64%) Tiberio Force |
18/1(-64%) | (8) Tiberio Force 18/1, Fourth of 7 in handicap at Beverley (12.1f, good to firm, 5/1) 42 days ago. Cheekpieces back on now upped significantly in trip. Respectable efforts in 1m2f/1m4f handicaps the last twice; goes further here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (125/1 -468%) Third Avenue |
125/1(-468%) | (9) Third Avenue 125/1, Ran best race for present yard when third at Southwell (16.5f) in February but proved disappointing over hurdles more recently, again offering little when pulled up at Market Rasen (20.6f) 2 months ago. Others preferred back on the Flat. Only 1-20 on the Flat and that success came over 1m6f in Ireland two years ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (3.33/1 +5%) Spantik |
3.33/1(+5%) | (2) Spantik 3.33/1, Eleven runs since last win in 2021. 9/1, good second of 13 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 27 days ago. Expected to be thereabouts again in refitted cheekpieces. Two good efforts back from a break but this softer ground is a concern. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
HELLENISTA ran very well in this grade on her penultimate start when she was beaten just under a length into second by a subsequent winner. The daughter of Nathaniel is only 1lb higher now, following her fourth at York in a class 4 event, and she looks capable of making the most of this drop in class. Spantik was over four lengths clear of the third when second over C&D last time and he has to be considered off the same mark. Of the remainder, Easter Icon makes the most appeal as he drops back to his last winning mark.
A number with claims, including SPANTIK who again ran with credit when runner-up over C&D 4 weeks ago and could be worth siding with to capitalise on his reduced mark. Lord Torranaga similarly arrives in good heart and is feared, with Oh So Chic, returned to this venue, and Hellenista others worth a look.
Lord Torranaga is feared but HELLENISTA ran in a Class 4 handicap at York last time won by the very progressive Robert Johnson.

3.33/1(+49%) | (9) Wade's Magic 3.33/1, Course winner who made the frame again when solid third of 9 in handicap over C&D (good) 13 days ago. 2 lb lower now and is one for the shortlist. Could have done with it softer than good when just behind Shark Two One here the last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5.5/1 +31%) Langholm |
5.5/1(+31%) | (1) Langholm 5.5/1, Course winner. 11/1, best effort since when 3½ lengths fourth past post in 12-runner 7f event here 13 days ago, though disqualified after rider failed to weigh in. Not out of things. Started the season well and decent fourth last time only to be disqualified. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (4/1 +0%) Shark Two One |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Shark Two One 4/1, Consistent performer who made the frame again when creditable second of 9 in handicap over C&D (good, 17/2) 13 days ago. Can make presence felt. An infrequent winner but nothing wrong with his recent second over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6.5/1 +7%) Yazaman |
6.5/1(+7%) | (6) Yazaman 6.5/1, Temperamental sort. One win from 33 Flat runs. 11/2, good second of 8 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good to soft) 9 days ago, running on. Enters calculations. Needs everything to drop just right but comes here after a solid run at Pontefract. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/1 -125%) Doctor Mozart |
9/1(-125%) | (3) Doctor Mozart 9/1, 3 wins from 12 runs this year, latest at Lingfield (5f) in June. Back from 8 weeks off when creditable second of 10 in handicap (5/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 4 days ago. Visor back on. Expected to be bang there. The AW is more his scene and he's 0-4 beyond the minimum trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (11/1 +31%) Mumcat |
11/1(+31%) | (5) Mumcat 11/1, One win from 28 Flat runs. Twenty three runs since last win in 2022. 16/1, sixth of 9 in handicap at Beverley (5f, soft) 15 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Last four runs on turf and heavy ground seemed to find her out at Beverley the last time. |

7th (8) (10/1 +29%) One Of Our Own |
10/1(+29%) | (8) One Of Our Own 10/1, 8/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at Musselburgh (7.2f, good to firm) 36 days ago. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals. Has yet to win but she's consistent and returning to 6f won't hurt after two runs over 7f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (40/1 -100%) Jumira Bridge |
40/1(-100%) | (10) Jumira Bridge 40/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in May. 11/1, below form fourth of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Others more appealing. Can miss the break and he's the type who needs everything to fall right on the day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (7/1 +22%) Jackmeister Rudi |
7/1(+22%) | (11) Jackmeister Rudi 7/1, C&D winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2022. 13/2, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good) 13 days ago. Each-way claims. Well handicapped but was behind some of these when only fifth here 13 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (20/1 -100%) Show Compassion |
20/1(-100%) | (4) Show Compassion 20/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in July. 2/1, respectable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 14 days ago. Merits consideration. Seems a better horse on the AW and she disappointed on her only previous soft-ground start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (150/1 -127%) Fighting Chance |
150/1(-127%) | (12) Fighting Chance 150/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 10 in handicap (150/1) at Newcastle (8f) 10 days ago. Back down in trip. Up against it. Limited maiden who brings no form claims to the table. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
DOCTOR MOZART posted a respectable second on the all-weather at Wolverhampton on Friday and David Evans' inmate must hold every chance now reverting to turf off a 4lb lower mark. Yazaman ran his best race yet for new connections when runner-up at Pontefract recently and is another to consider on this quick turnaround off 1lb lower in the ratings. The in-form Shark Two also looks capable of succeeding at this level and completes the shortlist.
WADE'S MAGIC has been eased in the weights since his creditable third here last month and gets the nod in a tricky-looking contest. Doctor Mozart and Shark Two One should also go well.
The 5yo YAZAMAN is unquestionably frustrating but there's every chance that this will be run to suit him.

4.5/1(-29%) | (1) This Ones For Fred 4.5/1, Responded well to a positive ride and showed improved form to resume winning ways at Lingfield (12f, AW) 4 weeks ago. One to consider from 3 lb higher mark back on turf. AW seller winner last time having run 2 fair races in h'caps; chance if the ground dries. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (3.5/1 +0%) Jamil |
3.5/1(+0%) | (2) Jamil 3.5/1, 4-time C&D winner. 2 wins from 5 runs this year. 7/2, won 7-runner handicap at this C&D (good) 13 days ago by ½ length from Valley of Flowers, cosily. Record around here entitles him to respect but he was seen to good effect on that occasion. Four wins over C&D, the latest last month; suited by good/soft ground; on a stiff mark. |

3rd (3) (2/1 +56%) Valley Of Flowers |
2/1(+56%) | (3) Valley Of Flowers 2/1, Latest win at Beverley (12.1f) in June. 15/8, creditable ½-length second of 7 to Jamil in handicap at this C&D (good) 13 days ago, typically pulling hard but running on. Expected to be thereabouts again. Close 2nd to Jamil over C&D last week; chance of reversing that form on 4lb better terms. |

11/1(-38%) | (5) Trusty Scout 11/1, Creditable sixth of 12 in handicap (15/2) at Hamilton (11.1f, soft) 24 days ago, left poorly placed. Can't be ruled out for all he's another infrequent winner. Wolves winner in January; some fair form since but seems better on the AW. |

5th (7) (2.75/1 +31%) King Harry |
2.75/1(+31%) | (7) King Harry 2.75/1, Lightly-raced maiden who tends to race freely and disappointed having attracted support when eighth of 9 in handicap at Lingfield (11.6f) back in June. However, he has been gelded subsequently so interesting if the market speaks in his favour again for in-form yard. Best run was when 4th over 1m6f; can pull hard; chance on first run since being gelded. |

6th (8) (22/1 -10%) Miss Raindrop |
22/1(-10%) | (8) Miss Raindrop 22/1, Maiden who wasn't disgraced in trio of 3-y-o handicaps on turf prior to a disappointing run back on all weather at Newcastle (10.2f) 5 days ago. Needs to leave that in her wake back on turf. Poor AW run last time but in fair for prior to that; 1lb wrong and improvement needed. |

7th (6) (200/1 -33%) Imenso |
200/1(-33%) | (6) Imenso 200/1, 150/1, last of 10 in handicap at Ayr (10f, good to soft) 29 days ago, struggling home turn. That was his first start for 12 months and this ought to reveal more. Runner-up in 5f claimer in 2022; tailed off over 1m2f last time; not sure to stay 1m4f.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
JAMIL appeared to win a shade cosily here in late July and a 4lb rise in the ratings may not be enough to prevent the eight-year-old from landing a fifth C&D success. Valley Of Flowers was behind the selection in second that day and is feared most off the same mark in this contest, while Trusty Scout, who likely found 1m3f at Hamilton on the sharp side last month, is likely to find this 1m4f more suitable.
Not a great deal of pace on and with that in mind it could pay to side with Lingfield scorer THIS ONES FOR FRED. He responded well to a positive ride when accounting for 7 rivals that day and a 3 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid from the front back on turf. Old rivals Valley of Flowers and Jamil rate next best, whilst Odd Venture isn't out of things either.
With his stable in fine form at present, KING HARRY can win on his first start since being gelded. Valley Of Flowers is next best.

1.38/1(+61%) | (1) Shesadabber 1.38/1, Returned to her very best when opening her account for present yard at Bath (5f) 4 days ago, showing a fine attitude in the process. 20/1(-122%) | (7) Lola's Moment 20/1, 16/1, eighth of 9 in handicap at Haydock (5f, soft) 17 days ago, weakening final 1f returned to a softer surface. Eased 3 lb since and return to class 6 company a plus but others make more appeal on balance. Drops in class, down another 3lb, but is hard to fancy even then. |

3rd (6) (7/1 -40%) Mrs Bagerran |
7/1(-40%) | (6) Mrs Bagerran 7/1, Showed a good attitude to finally shed the maiden tag at Musselburgh (5f) in June and deserving of plenty of credit (up with pace throughout) when reeled in late on over C&D since. Evidently in good heart but she's likely to face competition for the lead again here. Hard to be sure about her on this ground and could face an early battle for the lead. |

4th (5) (9/1 +0%) Insolente |
9/1(+0%) | (5) Insolente 9/1, Below form fifth of 9 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to soft, 16/1) 11 days ago, weakening last ½f. Visor goes back on now and handicapper is steadily relinquishing his grip. Only win came in a seller and she hasn't always looked the easiest; others stronger. |

5th (8) (14/1 +22%) Captain Corcoran |
14/1(+22%) | (8) Captain Corcoran 14/1, C&D winner. Fifth of 13 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to soft, 20/1) 24 days ago, headway 2f out before weakening final 1f. Struggled since leaving Eric Alston last backend, including in blinkers the past twice. |

6th (2) (3.33/1 +5%) Golden Gal |
3.33/1(+5%) | (2) Golden Gal 3.33/1, Dual C&D winner who edged out Shesadabber by a length in this race 12 months ago. Comes here in good heart, back to best when winning 13-runner handicap at Beverley (5f, good to soft) 21 days ago, well on top finish. Expected to be bang there. Loves it here, her wins including this race last year off the same mark; shortlisted. |

7th (4) (22/1 -57%) Lady Pascha |
22/1(-57%) | (4) Lady Pascha 22/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form 7 lengths eighth of 13 to Golden Gal in handicap (14/1) at Beverley (5f, good to soft) 21 days ago, fading having raced wide throughout. Remains early days with her and this should reveal more. 6lb better off with Golden Gal from Beverley but has a deal of ground to make up. |

|U| (3) (6.5/1 -86%) Zoom Star |
6.5/1(-86%) | (3) Zoom Star 6.5/1, C&D winner. Seventh of 11 in handicap (15/2) at Carlisle (5f, good) 31 days ago. Not taken lightly returned to this venue. Dual C&D soft-ground winner, both in the autumn; below-par latest but has her conditions. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Shesadabber recorded a first success of the season when making all and holding on by a neck at Bath recently, but the daughter of Heeraat could be worth taking on now burdened with a 4lb penalty. MRS BAGERRAN has been in fine form of late and a reproduction of her latest C&D second may be good enough for Tracy Waggott's five-year-old to regain the winning thread. Last-time-out winner Golden Gal and Zoom Star also enter the equation.
GOLDEN GAL quickly dispelled a lesser effort over 6f when resuming winning ways from another on a good mark at Beverley (5f) 3 weeks ago and, operating from the same mark as when landing this corresponding race 12 months ago, all looks set fair for another bold showing from what is likely to prove a handy draw. Shesadabber, runner-up to the selection 12 months ago, comes here thriving for David Evans and along with two-time C&D winner Zoom Star, heads up the dangers.
Shesadabber is not opposed lightly under a penalty but the vote goes to GOLDEN GAL (nap), who won this off the same mark last year.
Ths is the racecard key.
