The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Those with previous experience do not set a daunting standard so this could be a good opportunity for debutant A FINE CLARET. Karl Burke's colt, who is from the family of some classy sprinters, looks a likely type on paper and with the yard once again enjoying a fine campaign with juveniles, he can strike. The Richard Fahey team is also in good form so Endeavouryourdream must enter calculations. Uncle Sam hinted at ability on his debut and he could step forward.
Those with experience need more, and newcomers A FINE CLARET, Saxon Raider and Endeavouryourdream. make most appeal in that order before market clues.
Not the strongest of maidens and UNCLE SAM, who showed promise on his debut at Leicester, is taken to beat A Fine Claret.

Could be sharper now and only 1 lb above the mark she defied at Redcar last summer. Did well with headgear last season; not fared quite so well since and headgear missing. |

(6) (50/1 -150%)50/1(-150%) | (6) Motawaazy 50/1, C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2022. Well below par in 3 runs this season. Strike-rate of 6-24 on turf but poor form this term following wind op in March. |

7/1(-40%) | (9) Edgewater Drive 7/1, Career best when winning 9-runner C&D handicap (good to soft, 13/2) 17 days ago. Lightly-raced profile provides him with the scope to build on that. 1,000 gns buy last October; improved form when winning over C&D last time; up 7lb; chance. |

3rd (10) (9/1 -20%) Bestie |
9/1(-20%) | (10) Bestie 9/1, 5/1 and cheekpieces on first time, creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 15 days ago. Significantly back down in trip. Maiden; in fair form recently; didn't stay 8.5f last time so drop in trip should suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 +42%) Dream Deal |
7/2(+42%) | (2) Dream Deal 7/2, Good second at Ayr last month. Shaped as if still at the top of his game when fifth of 13 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 4/1) 10 days ago. Considered. Only win was over 6f last August; fair form since; goes on soft ground; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (28/1 -460%) King Of The Jungle |
28/1(-460%) | (4) King Of The Jungle 28/1, Won over 5f at Newcastle in January and Catterick (heavy) in April. 9/2, good second of 11 in handicap at Beverley (5f, soft) 19 days ago. Has to enter the reckoning. In good form at present and could go well; worry is whether this stiff 6f will be ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (100/1 -2757%) Malham Tarn Cove |
100/1(-2757%) | (8) Malham Tarn Cove 100/1, Has returned in good form, building on his reappearance second at Bath when going one better at the same venue (5.7f, good) 9 days later. Should remain competitive up 5 lb. Two good runs at Bath this term; conditions fine, well drawn and a contender.. |

7th (11) (50/1 -317%) Alibi Warning |
50/1(-317%) | (11) Alibi Warning 50/1, Modest form. 17/2, fifth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) in January. Off 165 days. Makes turf debut. Must improve. All runs on AW; off since January; stable in form; needs to improve for switch to turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (80/1 -900%) Parr Fire |
80/1(-900%) | (7) Parr Fire 80/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022 but did make quite an encouraging start for this yard after 8 months off when fifth of 9 in handicap (40/1) at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Might be worth chancing having been eased another 2 lb. Only win was on fast ground on debut in 2022; some fair form since; soft ground not ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (66/1 -560%) Ballyare |
66/1(-560%) | (1) Ballyare 66/1, 11/4, sixth of 7 in handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, soft) 50 days ago, never nearer. Well handicapped again but need to see more before lending support. Winner over 5,5f last May; not been in same form since; on a good mark and acts on soft. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
EDGEWATER DRIVE was said to have benefited from a drop from a mile when winning over C&D last month and the unexposed son of Dandy Man could repeat the dose from a 7lb raised mark. Malham Tarn Cove recorded a comfortable success at Bath last time out and he might be the main threat, while King Of The Jungle is most appealing of the remainder.
This is quite competitive for the grade. PARR FIRE caught the eye a bit on her first outing for the Ben Haslam yard at Doncaster at the start of the month and is given a chance to build on that promise. Dream Deal and King of The Jungle arrive in good form and head the dangers along with last month's Bath scorer Malham Tarn Cove.
Last month's Bath scorer, the well-drawn MALHAM TARN COVE, just gets the vote ahead of the unexposed C&D winner Edgewater Drive.

1st (1) (5/2 +29%) Belsito |
5/2(+29%) | (1) Belsito 5/2, Down in the weights and threatening to come good soon, second of 10 in handicap at this C&D (good, 7/2) 7 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time and very much of interest. Without a win since 2022; good efforts since wind op in March; headgear tried; chance. |

9/2(+36%) | (3) Atomise 9/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2021. Good third of 13 in handicap at Thirsk (6f, good to firm, 11/2) 10 days ago, missing break. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/2 +40%) John Kirkup |
9/2(+40%) | (6) John Kirkup 9/2, Course winner. Creditable third of 10 in handicap (16/1) at this course (6.9f, good to soft) 7 days ago, running on pretty well given he took a keen hold. One to consider. Close third over 7f here last week; conditions ideal; should go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 +31%) The Gay Blade |
11/2(+31%) | (4) The Gay Blade 11/2, Sound-enough effort fifth of 14 in handicap (11/2) at Hamilton (6f, good to firm) 5 days ago, though not for the first time, he didn't look entirely straightforward. Two AW wins in January; not as his best last twice; conditions suit; could bounce back. |

80/1(-1355%) | (5) Rain Cap 80/1, Easily best effort of the season when second of 11 in handicap at Catterick (7f, good to firm) 9 days ago, no extra late on. Return to 6f won't inconvenience. Run well at Catterick on last two starts, 2nd over 7f there last time; going suits; chance. |

100/1(-733%) | (10) Kyber Crystal 100/1, One win from 28 Flat runs. 9/1, creditable fourth of 13 in handicap at Musselburgh (5f, good) 16 days ago. Something to find on form from just out of the weights. Best form for this yard when 4th over 5f last time; chance on that form, but 6f a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (28/1 -700%) Batal Dandy |
28/1(-700%) | (9) Batal Dandy 28/1, Fitted with cheekpieces for the first time, career best when winning 10-runner handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) 14 days ago, finding plenty for pressure. May yet have more to offer if the headgear works again. Off mark in first-time headgear (good to firm) last time; up 3lb; softer ground a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (50/1 -317%) Jamie's Choice |
50/1(-317%) | (7) Jamie's Choice 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 50/1, respectable fourth of 13 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) 10 days ago. Not yet exposed and mark is a good one on Redcar effort in May. Unexposed; best h'cap run when fourth last week (5f); these conditions fine; could go well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (50/1 -400%) Strike Rate |
50/1(-400%) | (8) Strike Rate 50/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 25/1, sixth of 9 in minor event at this course (9f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Makes handicap debut. Hard to fancy. Promise in novices (well beaten at 1m1f last time); should fare better now handicapping. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
There doesn't appear to be much pace on offer and that might allow BELSITO an easy time of things at the head of affairs. Kevin Ryan's charge was collared late on by a well-treated rival over C&D last week so he must hold every chance from an unchanged mark, especially if the first-time cheekpieces can elicit some improvement. Atomise continues to run well in defeat and enters calculations, along with Rain Cap, who won't mind any rain, and recent Wetherby scorer Batal Dandy.
BELSITO has been knocking pretty loudly on the door of late, doing very little wrong when second over C&D a week ago, and the application of cheekpieces could be just what he needs to get the job done. Headgear worked the oracle for Batal Dandy at Wetherby and he's a threat, along with Jamie's Choice, who isn't yet exposed.
After a narrow defeat here last week BELSITO is taken to score his second career success with the aid of first-time cheekpieces.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (40/1 -1678%) Manuelito |
40/1(-1678%) | (6) Manuelito 40/1, 10/3, improved to win 11-runner handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (15.8f, good) 33 days ago. Mark could be lenient on first Flat start for this yard. Still a maiden on the Flat but has won twice over hurdles recently for new yard.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (100/1 -2400%) Ebony Maw |
100/1(-2400%) | (4) Ebony Maw 100/1, Latest win at Ayr in April. Creditable second of 7 in handicap (10/1) at Hamilton (13.1f, soft) 19 days ago and he's clearly going through a good spell. Made all at Ayr in April; second at Hamilton last month; looks sure to go close.. |

100/1(-1150%) | (3) King Of Unicorns 100/1, Bumper winner who was a creditable third of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f), well positioned. Off 11 months so he's entitled to need this. Has been absent since finishing third at Newcastle last July; first attempt over 1m6f.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (80/1 -1043%) Whatacracker |
80/1(-1043%) | (2) Whatacracker 80/1, Course winner. 11/2, creditable fourth of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (12f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Wouldn't be crying out for this trip (can pull hard) Sole win came here last July; fourth at Pontefract last month; steps up in distance.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MANUELITO failed to win on the Flat last year, but has won two of only four starts over hurdles since joining David Pipe's yard. He looks capable of going close if translating his progressive form over timber back to this code. Ebony Maw arrives in good form having won over 1m5f at Ayr before going close again at Hamilton. He makes more appeal than Whatacracker, who scored over a shorter trip here last summer and remains 4lb higher.
MANUELITO progressed very nicely over hurdles during the spring, winning his last 2, so it's fairly easy to construct a sold handicapping case for him back on the level. Whimsy takes a big drop in class and is a huge threat if taking up this engagement, with Ebony Maw another to consider.
The front-running Ebony Maw is the form horse here but MANUELITO looks well treated and is taken to open his Flat account.

3rd (3) (11/2 -83%) Arkenstaar |
11/2(-83%) | (3) Arkenstaar 11/2, Five wins from 18 Flat runs. 2 wins from 3 runs this year. 15/8, career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, soft) 19 days ago, all out. 10/1(+0%) | (2) Fools Rush In 10/1, Twenty three runs since last win in 2022. Ninth of 13 in handicap at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm, 14/1) 9 days ago. 9th (1) (150/1 -500%) Too Much |
150/1(-500%) | (1) Too Much 150/1, 40/1, first run since leaving James Horton when last of 6 in handicap at Redcar (10f, soft) 20 days ago. Down in trip and this will reveal more. Last of six on turf/stable debut at Redcar last month; has plenty to prove.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Arkenstaar has done all his winning so far at Hamilton and bids for a hat-trick raised 4lb. Jkr Cobbler has won five times over shorter distances, including here last month, whereas Golden Melody drops back down in trip and is fitted with blinkers for the first time after finishing runner-up over 1m2f at Redcar. ALPINE SIERRA has scored off similar marks in the past and a recent third at Ayr suggested Jim Goldie's charge is set for a return to winning ways.
BUSHFIRE could be the way to go here having finished fourth in a better handicap than this a fortnight ago with the combination of a drop in trip and easing ground conditions in his favour. Jkr Cobbler and Arkenstaar are last-time-out winners and have to command serious respect.
Hamilton specialist Arkenstaar has possibilities if he can translate his form to here, but course winner JKR COBBLER gets the vote.

CONDOR PASA offered encouragement on the Kempton Polytrack earlier in the year and after undergoing a gelding operation, he stepped forward to occupy the runner-up berth on his turf debut at Nottingham. On a line through the third, he should have the measure of Zoffandia, although William Haggas' charge is expected to step forward from his introduction and is a big threat. Qamari went into a few notebooks at Wolverhampton, while Aviemore was possibly flattered by his narrow C&D defeat but his rivals still must not allow him an uncontested lead.
This slight step up in trip will help CONDOR PASA and the strong feeling is that this well-bred 3-y-o has a bigger performance in him. Aviemore is an obvious threat, while once-raced pair Zoffandia and Qamari also command respect.
This should rest between the Newmarket raiders, with CONDOR PASA preferred to Zoffandia.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Mostar Dreams, Romantic Tale, Greycee Bell and Beguiling are all worth a look on handicap debut, but QUESTIONABLE went agonisingly close to making her own handicap bow a winning one and she can gain compensation. The daughter of Time Test didn't get the clearest of passages at Haydock, but still went down by just a short head and the drop from a mile shouldn't bother her. Blufferonthebus has been holding her form well here, while Berrygate has been costly to follow but is capable of making an impact.
QUESTIONABLE left her previous efforts well behind when just denied on handicap bow at Haydock last month, coming clear of the rest with a fellow big improver, and she's fancied to go one better. Mostar Dreams and Blufferonthebus both had excuses last time so can be expected to get back on track.
Provided her upward curve is sustained, QUESTIONABLE (nap) can defy top weight. Berrygate is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
