Promising second on her Redcar debut and is a big player if she can build on that. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Kiss Me My Love posted another creditable effort in defeat when runner-up over 5f here towards the end of last month and she must enter calculations now upped in distance. However, the Craig Lidster-trained WE'VE GOT THIS makes slightly more appeal having finished second from an uncompromising position on her debut at Redcar three weeks ago. Any market support for newcomers Queen Dinah or Bright Lily would be interesting.
WE'VE GOT THIS has probably got this after a promising second on debut at Redcar 3 weeks ago. Kiss Me My Love is a player on form also, and Queen Dinah is the most interesting newcomer.
Preference is for KISS ME MY LOVE who has finished a clear second in both her runs including behind a useful prospect here 11 days ago.

2nd (1) (9/2 -64%) Belsito |
9/2(-64%) | (1) Belsito 9/2, Novice winner final 2-y-o start. Drew a black last year but down in the weights and much more like it when ½-length third of 10 to Warminster in handicap at Ayr (6f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Shortlist material. Went close off reduced mark behind Warminster at Ayr last month; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/4 +64%) Rainbow Rain |
5/4(+64%) | (7) Rainbow Rain 5/4, C&D winner. Creditable third of 10 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to firm, 11/2) 3 days ago. Visor back on. Not taken lightly. Went close off this mark at Thirsk on Friday and he's respected back up in trip. |

33/1(-267%) | (5) Thaki 33/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Seventh of 8 in handicap (11/1) at Ayr (6f, good) 42 days ago, looking temperamental in the process. Last win was off 6lb higher at Ayr but he was beaten 9l there last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (100/1 -2122%) Warminster |
100/1(-2122%) | (8) Warminster 100/1, Latest win at Ayr in May. 9/2, respectable third of 8 in handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) 7 days ago. In-form 4yo who is well drawn to attack and he should make another bold bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (50/1 -213%) Polam Lane |
50/1(-213%) | (9) Polam Lane 50/1, C&D winner. Eleventh of 14 in handicap at Redcar (6f, soft, 16/1) 13 days ago. Lot to prove atr present. Missed last year and he's struggled in both runs this season; questions to answer. |

8th (4) (100/1 -1011%) Ignac Lamar |

Others more persuasive given propensity to miss the break. Triple AW winner but he's 0-10 on turf and was well held at Hamilton last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (100/1 -900%) See My Baby Jive |
100/1(-900%) | (10) See My Baby Jive 100/1, Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap (14/1) at Hamilton (6f, good) 24 days ago, left with lot to do. Blinkers back on. On dangerous mark but she needs to step and ideally wants rain to arrive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (100/1 -614%) Sidney's Son |
100/1(-614%) | (2) Sidney's Son 100/1, C&D winner. 14/1, last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 42 days ago. Down in trip returned to turf. Won C&D novice last summer but he's struggled back in handicaps since; down the list. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Although unable to follow up his victory at Ayr in late May when third at Wetherby 12 days later, WARMINSTER was far from disgraced on that occasion. Katie Scott's gelding will appreciate this return to 6f and compensation could await. The biggest threat is likely to emerge from Rainbow Rain, who posted a close-up third at Thirsk recently, while an improved bid from three-time course winner B Associates wouldn't surprise on his return to this venue off a declining mark.
Having dropped in the weights, BELSITO produced his best effort for some time when third at Ayr 3 weeks ago, likely to have finished even closer with a clear run. From the same mark, he makes plenty of appeal, with Rainbow Rain and Warminster (winner of that aforementioned Ayr race) a couple of potential threats.
Most of these have something to prove but BELSITO went close at Ayr last time and he gets the vote ahead of Rainbow Rain.

1st (4) (11/8 +59%) Minstrel Knight |
11/8(+59%) | (4) Minstrel Knight 11/8, Progressed again when second of 10 in handicap at Pontefract (10f, good to soft, 4/1) 17 days ago, despite having not been ideally placed. Could be ready to get off the mark as he goes further up in trip. Finished well when runner-up at Pontefract and he looks interesting at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/1 +0%) Warmonger |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Warmonger 4/1, After 6 months off (gelded), wasn't able to improve as expected when fourth of 5 in handicap at Salisbury (12f, heavy, 7/4) 25 days ago. However, he remains capable of better with his recent run behind him. Still unexposed and ran better than the bare facts on handicap debut at Salisbury. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (50/1 -1329%) Mister Daydream |
50/1(-1329%) | (1) Mister Daydream 50/1, Won a nursery at Bath in September and creditable efforts both subsequent outings, second of 5 in minor event at the same course (10.2f, good to soft, 7/4) on his final start. Can give his running after 7 months off (has been gelded). Still lightly raced but needs more progress upped to this trip on his return; been gelded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (20/1 -208%) Carnival Day |
20/1(-208%) | (3) Carnival Day 20/1, Ran to a similar level as previously after 9 weeks off when fifth of 7 in minor event (20/1) at Wolverhampton (12.2f) in February. Improvement required as he makes his handicap debut (has been gelded). Unexposed gelding but he needs improvement on his handicap/turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (100/1 -5219%) Chiefman |
100/1(-5219%) | (2) Chiefman 100/1, Opened his account in good style at Newcastle in March. Failed to land the odds (4/5) when second of 3 in handicap at Redcar (10f, soft) 39 days ago, but no surprise to see him bounce back with cheekpieces on 1st time. Won at Newcastle in March and runner-up in both runs since; respected with headgear added. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
It will be interesting to see if Warmonger's supporters return after an inauspicious start to life in handicaps when a well-beaten fourth on soft ground at Salisbury last month. The Camelot gelding may prove a different proposition on this sounder surface and he cannot be written off. However, MINSTREL KNIGHT rates a more solid proposition having finished second at Pontefract last time out and a similar performance may prove sufficient, while the returning Mister Daydream shouldn't be far away if resuming in the same form.
MINSTREL KNIGHT has shown improved form sent handicapping on his last 2 starts, despite having been caught further back than ideal when second at Pontefract 17 days ago, so he is taken to go one better this time around. The main danger could be Chiefman, who is worth another chance with cheekpieces applied, ahead of Warmonger.
This looks a bit trappy but recent Pontefract runner-up MINSTREL KNIGHT gets the vote ahead of Chiefman and Warmonger.

4/6(+16%) | (3) Expensive Rose 4/6, Once-raced maiden. 5/1, second of 16 in maiden at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) on debut 17 days ago, slowly away. Likely to improve and this looks like a good opportunity to open her account. Second of 16 on her Pontefract debut (6f) and sets standard on that form; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/1 -80%) Li Ban |
9/1(-80%) | (5) Li Ban 9/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 8 in maiden at Windsor (5.1f, good to firm, 13/2) 28 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Improvement required but it's still early days. Promising fourth at Windsor (5f) and has claims if she can take another step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (6/1 +14%) Alla Stella |
6/1(+14%) | (1) Alla Stella 6/1, Foaled April 23. Study of Man filly. Half-sister to several winners, including smart winner up to 7f Shine So Bright and useful 8.5f winner Amboseli. Interesting newcomer and worth a market check. Has speed and stamina in pedigree and market should guide on debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/1 -56%) Modern Utopia |
7/1(-56%) | (6) Modern Utopia 7/1, Foaled April 15. Sottsass filly. Half-sister to numerous winners, including smart winner up to 9f Isabella Sings and useful US 1m minor stakes winner Alaura Michele. Interesting on pedigree. Well-bred filly who is a half-sister to ten winners; needs watching in market on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (80/1 -700%) Apulia |
80/1(-700%) | (2) Apulia 80/1, Foaled March 19. €50,000 yearling, Teofilo filly. Closely related to 1¾m winner Tajanis and half-sister to several winners, including 1¼m winner Tarroob and 2-y-o 6f winner Jabaara, both useful. Bred to need further. Yard 1-21 with 2yos this year and this newcomer could be a longer-term prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (66/1 +0%) Leyhaimur |
66/1(+0%) | (4) Leyhaimur 66/1, Once-raced maiden. 33/1, tenth of 12 in maiden at Lingfield (7f, good to firm) on debut 11 days ago. Needs a lot more. 33-1 at Lingfield 11 days ago and she finished out the back; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (100/1 -300%) Realise The Dream |
100/1(-300%) | (7) Realise The Dream 100/1, Once-raced maiden. 33/1, eighth of 12 in maiden at Doncaster (6.5f, good to firm) on debut 9 days ago. May come on for that experience. Ran green after a slow start and was always in rear at Doncaster last Saturday. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
EXPENSIVE ROSE displayed plenty of promise when filling second place on her debut at Pontefract last month and the daughter of Australia could be hard to beat with the benefit of that experience. Li Ban took a step forward when a close fourth on her second start and she could go well once again, while Alla Stella has to be noted on her debut being closely related to the Group 2 winner Shine So Bright.
EXPENSIVE ROSE arrives on the back of a positive start when runner-up at Pontefract and she can put that experience to good use as she bids to open her account. Alla Stella and Modern Utopia both make plenty of appeal on pedigree, so they can give the selection plenty to think about if sufficiently clued up.
This can go to EXPENSIVE ROSE (nap), who sets the standard on her second at Pontefract and is open to progress over this longer trip.

Jkr Cobbler |
(7) (7/2 -27%)7/2(-27%) | (7) Jkr Cobbler 7/2, Completed a 7f hat-trick at Ayr last summer and back to winning ways on C&D reappearance (good to soft) 10 days ago. Has a largely progressive profile in the last year or so and a 2 lb rise is unlikely to prevent a bold bid. Made it 4-15 on turf when swooping late over C&D on recent return; respected up 2lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (3) (12/1 +14%) Blazing Son |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Blazing Son 12/1, Last of 7 in handicap (9/2) at Doncaster (6f, good to soft) 39 days ago. Bounce back needed. 3-6 on AW but he's 1-21 on turf and has struggled back in this sphere last twice. |

18/1(-29%) | (6) Vince Le Prince 18/1, Back to winning ways at Catterick (7f, soft) in September. Poor run on AW at Newcastle 7 weeks later and off since. The betting is perhaps the best guide to expectations after break. Handles most ground but he's not easy to predict and comes with risks attached on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (25/1 -178%) John Kirkup |
25/1(-178%) | (10) John Kirkup 25/1, Course winner. Shaped better than the result when sixth of 14 in handicap at Redcar (6f, soft, 12/1) 13 days ago, travelling well up with the pace for a long way. Back on a winning mark and had form over 7f earlier in his career. Ten-time sprint winner but he's 0-9 at this trip and others are preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (16/1 -78%) Ring Of Gold |
16/1(-78%) | (8) Ring Of Gold 16/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2022. 5/1, creditable 2¾ lengths sixth of 10 to Jkr Cobbler in handicap at this C&D (good to soft) 10 days ago. Losing run is up to 18 but he's generally reliable and could be dangerous. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (20/1 -264%) Showtime Mahomes |
20/1(-264%) | (2) Showtime Mahomes 20/1, 11/2, respectable sixth of 13 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 31 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Back on a workable mark. Goes back up in trip and down in grade and has possibilities if he gets the breaks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (25/1 -317%) Drafted |
25/1(-317%) | (1) Drafted 25/1, 10/3, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at Haydock (7f, firm) a year ago. First run for yard after leaving James Horton. Betting perhaps the best guide to expectations. Returns for new yard after a year off but he's in the mix off sliding mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (80/1 -1900%) Wreck It Ryley |
80/1(-1900%) | (4) Wreck It Ryley 80/1, 15/8, respectable third of 9 in handicap at Catterick (6f, soft) 10 days ago. Enters calculations. Has record of 3223 for new yard this season and he's respected back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (40/1 -60%) Ahamoment |
40/1(-60%) | (5) Ahamoment 40/1, Made a winning start to 2024 at Newcastle in January but well held in 2 runs back on turf this spring. Well held in both runs this spring and he needs a major revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (100/1 -1011%) Concert Boy |
100/1(-1011%) | (9) Concert Boy 100/1, One win from 22 Flat runs. Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Blinkered first time, creditable third of 8 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good, 13/2) 5 days ago, not ideally placed. Record of 1-22 but was placed at Nottingham last time and has each-way claims again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (100/1 -300%) Storm Master |
100/1(-300%) | (11) Storm Master 100/1, Not seen since finishing last of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton in May 2023. Can only be watched from 3 lb out of the weights. Has plenty to prove after 405 days off and he's out of the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
JKR COBBLER made a winning return over C&D late last month and the third from that contest has won subsequently. With that in mind, Iain Jardine's gelding merits the utmost respect off just a 2lb higher mark here. The consistent Wreck It Ryley is likely to be in the mix once again, while Concert Boy and Showtime Mahomes are others to note.
The way in which JKR COBBLER travelled for a long way when scoring on his recent C&D reappearance suggests he can cope with another 2 lb nudge from the handicapper and enhance his good strike-rate in the last 12 months. Wreck It Ryley has held his form well this year and can place again, while Showtime Mahomes could also have a say having dipped to a mark in the 60s for the first time in his career.
Top of the list is WRECK IT RYLEY, who has done well for a new yard this season. Recent C&D winner Jkr Cobbler is feared most.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
WE STILL BELIEVE arrives here on the back of two seconds at Hamilton last month and this moderate event appears to be an ideal opportunity for the six-year-old to go one better. Hostelry also hit the crossbar on her most recent outing and has to be of interest off the same mark. Highwaygrey edges out Hougoumont to be best of the rest.
A tight-knit handicap in which Ruth Carr's C&D winner HOSTELRY edges the vote on the back of his good recent Pontefract second. Handily-weighted Highwaygrey heads the list of dangers, although a solid case can also be made for Hougoumont, We Still Believe and Can't Stop Now in a very open contest.
This is a tight call between HOSTELRY and We Still Believe. The vote goes to Ruth Carr's mare.
Ths is the racecard key.
