Na Scoitear |
(7) (14/1 -133%)14/1(-133%) | (7) Na Scoitear 14/1, Modest gelding. Cheekpieces on for first time, respectable second of 7 in handicap at Musselburgh (9f, good to firm, 16/1) 22 days ago, no match for winner. 3yo; has won just one of his 16 starts but has run some good races this year; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (1) (5/1 -11%) Andromedas Kingdom |
5/1(-11%) | (1) Andromedas Kingdom 5/1, Modest mare. Fourth of 13 in minor event (9/2) at Catterick (7f, good) 43 days ago, typically slowly away and finished with running left. Risky proposition. 0-15 and very slow starts are a problem, but she did well to finish fourth last time out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (100/1 -52%) Rajawail |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Rajawail 100/1, Poor filly. Fifth of 7 in handicap (66/1) at Ripon (12f, good) 72 days ago. Back down in trip. Blinkers on first time. Plenty to find on form. 6-race maiden whose form has been very modest; has to produce something new now blinkered. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (7/1 -75%) Hidden Code |
7/1(-75%) | (6) Hidden Code 7/1, Fair gelding. Creditable second of 6 in maiden (4/1) at Newcastle (8f) 9 days ago. Has had a few chances but this looks an excellent opening. Second in recent AW maiden and also effective on turf; holds leading form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (10/3 +56%) Jewel Of Kabeir |
10/3(+56%) | (4) Jewel Of Kabeir 10/3, Modest filly. 14/1, good fourth of 12 in handicap at Carlisle (7.8f, good to firm) 13 days ago, never nearer. Blinkers back on. 0-12 but running well in the main this season and she's firmly in calculations. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (5/2 +64%) Billy McGarry |
5/2(+64%) | (2) Billy McGarry 5/2, Modest gelding. Seventh of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (8f, 18/1) 36 days ago. First run for yard after leaving David C. Griffiths. Cheekpieces on first time. Not taken lightly on these terms. Below par the last twice but leading claims on these terms if back on song on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (40/1 -100%) Butterfly Island |
40/1(-100%) | (3) Butterfly Island 40/1, Poor filly. Remains a maiden after 22 Flat runs. 16/1, ninth of 13 in minor event at Catterick (7f, good) 43 days ago. Back up in trip. Blinkers back on. 23-race maiden who hasn't been shaping as though she is about to break her duck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (10/3 +0%) Pete The Brief |
10/3(+0%) | (8) Pete The Brief 10/3, Modest gelding. 12/1, career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Redcar (8f, good to firm) 39 days ago. More to recommend him than most. Won at Redcar last month and this lightly raced 3yo is a strong candidate. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
PETE THE BRIEF appeared to relish a step up in trip when winning over the mile at Redcar last month and the unexposed Bungle Inthejungle gelding, who has previously run well around here, is taken to double his tally from just 3lb higher. Jewel Of Kabeir finished a creditable fourth at Carlisle and a similar performance would bring her firmly into the reckoning. Andromedas Kingdom heads the remainder.
HIDDEN CODE ran right up to form when second at Newcastle last week and he probably won't get a better chance to open his account on these terms. Pete The Brief made his first start over 1m a winning one at Redcar last time and is the obvious threat.
The lightly raced 3yo PETE THE BRIEF got off the mark in a handicap at Redcar last month and is taken to follow up.

1st (2) (11/4 -46%) Rogue Enforcer |
11/4(-46%) | (2) Rogue Enforcer 11/4, Promise on debut and sent off 8/11 when second of 6 in maiden at Ripon (6f, good to firm) 15 days ago, clear of rest. Got to be respected. Has shown promise over 6f on both starts and 5f is well worth a go; strong form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (3/1 +54%) Ingleby Archie |
3/1(+54%) | (1) Ingleby Archie 3/1, Thrice-raced colt. 12/1, fourth of 10 in novice event at Haydock (6f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Should be on the premises again. Solid efforts on all three starts and the drop back in trip could be a plus; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (5/1 +9%) Willolarupi |
5/1(+9%) | (7) Willolarupi 5/1, Promising individual. Fifth of 11 in maiden at Thirsk (5f, heavy, 9/2) 46 days ago, needing stiffer test. Should improve, particularly once upped to 6f. Solid efforts on all three starts and gelded since last time; entitled to respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (11/4 +0%) Miss Anya |
11/4(+0%) | (9) Miss Anya 11/4, Continued theme of race-by-race progress when second of 9 in novice event at Chelmsford City (6f, 5/2) 18 days ago. Way she travels suggests she's ready for 5f. Runner-up over 6f the last twice and the drop to 5f could be a plus; on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (50/1 -67%) Profit Street |
50/1(-67%) | (6) Profit Street 50/1, 33/1, fourth of 11 in maiden at this C&D (good to firm) on debut 35 days ago. Prominent until fading on debut over C&D last month; not ruled out each-way. |

50/1(+24%) | (5) Profiteer 50/1, Eleventh of 12 in maiden (18/1) at this C&D (good) on debut 74 days ago. Related to winners but well down the field on debut over C&D in July. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (25/1 +0%) Arlington |
25/1(+0%) | (3) Arlington 25/1, Twice-raced gelding. 11/1, seventh of 11 in minor event at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 25 days ago. Has shown some ability on both starts but others possess stronger form credentials. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (28/1 +44%) Alfanatical |
28/1(+44%) | (8) Alfanatical 28/1, Foaled March 20. 23,000 gns yearling, Land Force filly. Half-sister to 2-y-o 5f winner Destiny's Spirit. Dam 5f winner. Half-sister to a 5f 2yo winner; trainer won this last year; not ruled out on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (14/1 +44%) Mister Mojito |
14/1(+44%) | (4) Mister Mojito 14/1, Third of 7 in maiden (40/1) at Bath (5.7f, firm) on debut 14 days ago, missing break. Soundly beaten third on debut but did well in the circumstances and has potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (10) (22/1 -57%) Always Love You |
22/1(-57%) | (10) Always Love You 22/1, Twice-raced filly. 5/2, ninth of 11 in maiden at Haydock (6f, good). Off 117 days. First run for yard after leaving Dominic Ffrench Davis. Fair debut in April; flopped in May; firmly in mix if tapping back into debut promise. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (12) (50/1 -52%) Our Neil |
50/1(-52%) | (12) Our Neil 50/1, Foaled February 8. Sogann filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 5f winner Ey Up It's Maggie and 7f/1m winner Ey Up Its The Boss. Dam unraced. Half-sister to four winners; makes debut with yard among winners; one to watch in betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (11) (80/1 -60%) Askim |
80/1(-60%) | (11) Askim 80/1, Foaled February 23. £8,000 yearling, Washington Dc filly. Half-sister to several winners, including useful 6f/7f winner Citron Major and 2-y-o 6f winner Firedanser. Dam unraced. Half-sister to two useful winners for yard but she may be one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (40/1 -233%) She'sashambles |
40/1(-233%) | (13) She'sashambles 40/1, Twice-raced filly. Fourth of 6 in maiden at Hamilton (6f, good to soft, 6/1) 37 days ago. Fair fourth on debut over C&D but failed to build on that at Hamilton 13 days later. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Richard Hughes can do little wrong at present and Miss Anya, runner-up on two of her three career starts, is unlikely to be far away. Willolarupi brings a similar level of form to the table and it would be no surprise were he to play a leading role, though marginal preference is for ROGUE ENFORCER. The son of Profitable was able to build on a promising debut when filling the runner-up spot at Ripon and this might be good opportunity to go one better.
MISS ANYA is going the right way and with the drop to 5f, particularly on this stiff track, not expected to be an issue, she can get off the mark at the fourth attempt. Rogue Enforcer and Willolarupi are feared most.
The filly MISS ANYA has shown pace when runner-up over 6f the last twice and is taken to capitalise on the drop in trip.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Lovely Masar makes enough appeal on paper to warrant a market check ahead of her debut, as does the Charlie Johnston-trained You'vemetyourmatch. Sovereign Queen belied odds of 100/1 when filling the runner-up spot at Leicester and any further improvement would put her in the mix. However, the vote goes to HUG A TREE. Michael Bell's filly produced two solid efforts over sprint trips earlier this season, but this step up in trip could hold the key.
CLOUDY SKYE showed improved form despite still looking very green when third over C&D last month so gets the vote with more to come. May pulled clear of the rest when an improved fourth at Chelmsford so is another to consider, while Lovely Masar is a newcomer to note.
Preference is for LOCAL ARMS, whose sire and dam won on soft ground. Her debut effort gave cause for optimism that she can win this.

11/4(+21%) | (1) Enchanting 11/4, Promising sort. 12/1, fifth of 7 in novice at Sandown (5f, good to firm) on debut. Off 96 days. Open to progress for leading stable. Off since Sandown debut in June but it no surprise to see significant improvement.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (9/4 -20%) Reprised |
9/4(-20%) | (8) Reprised 9/4, 5/1, showed a bit amidst greenness when fifth of 8 in novice at Southwell (5f) on debut 23 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Likely improver for leading connections. Promising debut (AW) despite greenness; no surprise if she steps up markedly on that.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (13/2 +70%) South Parade |
13/2(+70%) | (9) South Parade 13/2, Modest form in 2 outings over 6f and will need to improve for the drop to 5f to get heavily involved. Tackles softer ground for the first time and drops in trip, needing improvement to figure.. |

4th (5) (22/1 +33%) Ingleby Ivy |
22/1(+33%) | (5) Ingleby Ivy 22/1, 12,000 gns Calyx filly. Half-sister to 7f winner Shoot The Moon and winner up to 6f Threatlevelmidnite. Worth a precautionary betting check. 12,000gns yearling; fourth foal; half-sister to two winners; dam 6f turf 2yo/7f AW winner.. |

Newcomer who would need considering if the betting speaks in her favour. Half-sister to three winners; dam 8.6f AW winner; market check suggested.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LADY NUNTHORPE didn't get the clearest of runs when looking to challenge in a C&D nursery last month and granted a clearer passage this time around, she may be able to get off the mark at the fifth time of asking. That could come at the main expense of Reprised, who showed some promise on her debut at Southwell. A half-sister to smart handicapper Spangled Mac, newcomer Gloves must enter calculations, along with Sandown fifth Enchanting.
LADY NUNTHORPE is the one to beat on the form she showed when third in a C&D nursery last month, though she doesn't set the bar that high so it would be no surprise were once-raced pair Enchanting and/or Reprised to improve past her. George Boughey newcomer Gloves would also come into it should the betting suggest she's fancied.
Karl Burke's filly REPRISED showed some promise first time out and is taken to build markedly on that and score.

9th (8) (16/1 -14%) Motawaazy |
16/1(-14%) | (8) Motawaazy 16/1, Seventh of 11 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm, 25/1) 15 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. No win this year and form in 2023 has been patchy; cheekpieces back on for return to 5f. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
COUNT D'ORSAY has shown enough in recent starts to suggest that he can get his head back in front, and soft ground is a major plus. One of two in the field for Tim Easterby, the seven-year-old is only 1lb above his last winning mark and gets the vote ahead of narrow Ripon winner Ey Up It's Maggie and the hat-trick-seeking Rodborough, who reverts to turf and has the assistance of Hollie Doyle in the saddle again.
RODBOROUGH responded well to this headgear when winning at Southwell on her last 2 starts and looks up to completing the hat-trick if proving as good on turf. Sound Reason has disappointed since scoring over C&D in July but is only 1 lb above his last winning mark, while Count d'Orsay has been shaping well of late.
The suggestion is COUNT D'ORSAY (nap), who has conditions to suit and ran well from a poor draw at Chester last time.

40/1(+20%) | (1) Favorite Boy 40/1, 40/1 when pulled up in a Stratford juvenile hurdle in July. Can only be watched now switching to the Flat. Pulled up at 40-1 over hurdles on his sole start and he's probably best watched. |

4th (2) (14/1 -115%) Kintaro |
14/1(-115%) | (2) Kintaro 14/1, Fair form. Visored first time, below best when fourth of 5 in novice at Carlisle (9f, good to firm, 9/2) 13 days ago. Displayed promise on first two starts but unable to match that on his last three outings. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (1/1 +43%) Lohengrin |
1/1(+43%) | (3) Lohengrin 1/1, Twice-raced maiden. Stepped up on debut when third of 9 in maiden (9/4) at Chelmsford City (1m) 20 days ago. Up in trip. From a top yard and could easily have more to offer. Has kept on well over 7f/1m on both starts and he's a likely player now upped in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The William Haggas stable has a terrific record around here and this looks like an ideal opportunity for LOHENGRIN to get off the mark. Being a son of Ulysses, the step up in trip should be a major plus and he could have too much for Goodwood third Lope De Light and Man Of Monaco, who had Kintaro a couple of positions behind him when runner-up on debut at Carlisle.
LOPE DE LIGHT has shaped quite well in 2 recent outings and can make it third time lucky for a stable with a good record here. This trip should suit Lohengrin so he's second choice ahead of Charlie Johnston's Carlisle runner-up Man of Monaco.
The step up in trip could prompt a first win from LOHENGRIN, who has kept on nicely over 7f/1m on his first two starts.

2nd (5) (9/1 -29%) Contrast |
9/1(-29%) | (5) Contrast 9/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Carlisle in July. Good second of 8 in handicap at Pontefract (10f, good, 16/1) 42 days ago. Respected. C&D winner; back in better form at Pontefract (1m2f, good) latest and is not ruled out.. |

3rd (9) (14/1 -17%) Mac Ailey |
14/1(-17%) | (9) Mac Ailey 14/1, Latest win at Ayr in July. In frame all 3 starts in August but failed to build on that promise when fifth of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (9.2f, good to firm, 5/1) 15 days ago. Not fully discounted. Unable to win from a mark this high for a couple of years and that may again be the case.. |

4th (7) (9/1 +0%) Panama City |
9/1(+0%) | (7) Panama City 9/1, Course winner. 50/1, turned in best effort the season when third of 9 in handicap at this C&D (soft) 24 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Player if able to back that form up. Course winner; others probably press stronger claims but he not ruled out each way.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (9/2 +68%) Have You A Minute |
9/2(+68%) | (10) Have You A Minute 9/2, Showed more when second of 8 over C&D in July but failed to justify support when seventh of 11 in handicap (8/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, good to soft) 41 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Not easy to make a case for from out of the weights. Close over C&D in July but well beaten either side of that; inconsistency is a concern.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (20/1 +20%) Iron Sheriff |
20/1(+20%) | (3) Iron Sheriff 20/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 13 runs this year. Latest win at Pontefract in June. Respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Redcar (10f, good to firm, 20/1) 25 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Triple 1m2f this season but last two efforts suggest that the handicapper has his measure.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (5/1 -122%) Park Street |
5/1(-122%) | (1) Park Street 5/1, Improved on recent efforts to win 9-runner handicap (5/1) at this course (8.4f, good to firm) 18 days ago. Has positive record here (won over 7.4f in July) and he's respected from 4 lb higher mark. Unexposed over this trip and no surprise if he proves good enough to follow up.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (7/1 +42%) Beryl Burton |
7/1(+42%) | (8) Beryl Burton 7/1, Runner-up on her first 2 outings of the season and wasn't disgraced when fourth of 12 in handicap at Windsor (11.4f, good to firm) 16 days ago, though others appeal as better treated. Competitive mark; has to put two lesser efforts behind her to have a winning chance.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (22/1 -38%) Sagauteur |
22/1(-38%) | (2) Sagauteur 22/1, Good third at Newcastle on stable debut but last 2 efforts have been underwhelming, only eleventh of 12 there (10.2f) 12 days ago. On a good mark now but needs to bounce back. Well treated based on his first two starts for this trainer but bit to prove now.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (6/1 -9%) Blue Yonder |
6/1(-9%) | (4) Blue Yonder 6/1, C&D winner in May before following up at Wolverhampton. Not in the same form recently however, only eighth of 13 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 66/1) 20 days ago. Others preferred. Step back in the right direction latest and is a potential player following a 3lb drop.. |

PARK STREET appeared to relish the extended 1m distance when winning with something in hand at this venue earlier in the month and the step up to 1m2f may unlock further improvement. Contrast returned to form with a second-placed effort at Pontefract and may give the selection most to think about off only 1lb higher. Panama City and Dandy's Angel have also been running well enough of late to warrant a second look.
DANDY'S ANGEL is a most reliable type for one at this level and is fancied to notch her fourth C&D win of the year. Panama City returned to form from out of the blue here last time and can have his performance marked up slightly on account of racing close to the strong gallop, so he's another leading player if able to replicate that effort, whilst Park Street has scored twice here this season and can't be ruled out.
The suggestion is PARK STREET who goes well here and could have more to give now he is back up in trip.

Potentially well treated and well worth monitoring in the betting. C&D winner (soft); changed stables since last run and drops 5lb; potential player.. |

2nd (5) (16/1 -33%) Loddon |
16/1(-33%) | (5) Loddon 16/1, Hooded for 1st time, respectable sixth of 10 in handicap at Bath (8f, good to soft, 11/2) 32 days ago. Back up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Ed Walker. Others more persuasive. Changed hands for 12,000gns recently; drops 1lb; more needed on debut for this trainer.. |

3rd (8) (10/3 +0%) Bay Of Naples |
10/3(+0%) | (8) Bay Of Naples 10/3, Won 10-runner handicap at Leicester (10f, soft, 4/1) 8 days ago, suited by way race developed. Not taken lightly. Escapes penalty for his Leicester win (1m2f) and will be a contender if he can back it up.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5/1 +50%) Leitrim Rock |
5/1(+50%) | (7) Leitrim Rock 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form eighth of 13 in handicap (7/1) at Kempton (8f) 21 days ago. Back up in trip. Caught the eye on penultimate start and it's too soon to write him off. Has shown promise on a couple of occasions; back up in trip but needs improvement to win.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (8/1 -33%) Letaba |
8/1(-33%) | (3) Letaba 8/1, 9/1, third of 5 in handicap at Leicester (11.8f, soft) 8 days ago. Should benefit from the drop back in trip and his mark is becoming appealing. Went close (1m2f, good to firm) last month but below that level twice since; more needed.. |

6th (9) (12/1 +64%) Brunello Breeze |
12/1(+64%) | (9) Brunello Breeze 12/1, 28/1, fifth of 9 in handicap at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) 48 days ago. Must improve. Taking a few steps in the right direction but could be outclassed by a few of these.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (17/2 +15%) Sea In The Dark |
17/2(+15%) | (6) Sea In The Dark 17/2, Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Ayr (10f, good to firm) 34 days ago. Has work to do. Probably needs a favour from the handicapper to break her duck.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BAY OF NAPLES escapes a penalty after claiming the spoils in an apprentice handicap at Leicester last week and must hold every chance of completing a quickfire double. Dual C&D winner Billy Roberts arrives in good heart judged on the veteran's runner-up effort at Ripon last month and is feared most, ahead of Letaba, who should appreciate a return to this distance.
BILLY ROBERTS goes well at this track and shaped well under an inexperienced rider at Ripon last time, so he's capable of gaining compensation with Billy Loughnane now on board. Bay of Naples is a threat and Leitrim Rock, with few miles on the clock, is another one to consider.
On his first start for Edward Bethell and with a 5lb drop, it could be worth chancing soft-ground C&D winner FRANKENDAEL for a repeat.
Ths is the racecard key.
