The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Gavin Cromwell's PINOT GRIS has shown enough to land a maiden hurdle. He has been placed in two of his last three spins over flights and the drying ground will be in his favour as a former winner on the Flat. No less than 11 of these runners are having their first crack at hurdling, so market moves should be noted. Leitzel won twice on the Flat in Britain and is a half-sister to a prolific National Hunt winner (Final Orders), while Nakassama has been placed four times on the level and represents a shrewd stable. Zero Fighter represents local connections and it wouldn't be surprising to see him well schooled for this assignment. Cromwell also saddles newcomer African Lady and Noel Meade takes the wraps off Tell Nobody Nothin.
PINOT GRIS has made a good start over hurdles and this fairly useful Flat winner can open his account in this sphere now. Tell Nobody Nothin and African Lady, a stablemate of the selection, are interesting on debut.
Not a strong maiden and it gives PINOT GRIS, progressive on the Flat last year, a good chance to get off the mark in this discipline

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 +73%) Mary's Pride |
9/1(+73%) | (9) Mary's Pride 9/1, Pulled up in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Leopardstown (20f, heavy) 118 days ago. Shown nothing in three runs this term; very hard to fancy. |

4/1(+43%) | (5) Run For Harry 4/1, Creditable third of 10 in handicap hurdle (15/2) at Naas (19.3f, soft) 8 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Naas run a definite improvement; more likely needed though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (15) (9/1 +25%) Missus Beeton |
9/1(+25%) | (15) Missus Beeton 9/1, 22/1, below form ninth of 15 in novice hurdle at Thurles (15.9f, good to soft) 129 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut from a fair mark on the pick of her form. Latest Thurles run was disappointing but definite claims on C&D second last summer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (12/1 -140%) Herculaneum |
12/1(-140%) | (10) Herculaneum 12/1, Latest win in hurdle at Thurles in November. Another sound effort when second of 17 in handicap hurdle (9/4) at Thurles (16.5f, good to soft) 146 days ago, conceding first run. Fine form at Thurles in the autumn; handles better ground too so respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) (11/1 -38%) Teagarden Jazz |
11/1(-38%) | (1) Teagarden Jazz 11/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form eighth of 21 in juvenile hurdle (14/1) at Naas (15.7f, soft). Off 15 months. Makes handicap hurdle debut and fitness won't be an issue given the yard she represents. Useful juvenile form; market likely good guide on handicap debut after long absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (33/1 +0%) Joke Dancer |
33/1(+0%) | (6) Joke Dancer 33/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2022. Fifth of 8 in handicap chase (9/1) at Navan (17f, heavy) 32 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Prolific winner in Britain; jumping awry of late chasing and back hurdling here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (8) (9/1 +73%) Frontline Worker |
9/1(+73%) | (8) Frontline Worker 9/1, Twelfth of 16 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Naas (15.6f, heavy) 59 days ago. Entitled to come on for recent comeback run and better ground to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (13) (20/1 -233%) Solo Flight |
20/1(-233%) | (13) Solo Flight 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Fifteenth of 25 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, heavy, 125/1) 137 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Makes handicap hurdle debut and he's a potential improver. Potential improver back on better ground for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (12) (25/1 +0%) Johnny Cigar |
25/1(+0%) | (12) Johnny Cigar 25/1, 9/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, below form eighth of 15 in novice hurdle at Ballinrobe (22.4f, good). Off 11 months. Down in trip. Promise in bumpers but underwhelming form over hurdles; absent 11 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (4) (66/1 -371%) Falak |
66/1(-371%) | (4) Falak 66/1, Third of 14 in handicap hurdle (125/1) at Down Royal (16.9f, good to soft). Off 7 months and given a chance by the assessor if fully fit. Back from a break but runs well fresh and has his ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
FRONTLINE WORKER has each-way claims on drying ground. Testing going didn't see her to best effect on her return at Naas in February, but it should have brought her on. Her best results have come on similar ground to what she is forecast to encounter. Herculaneum has gone well fresh before which makes him dangerous. He was in good form in October and November in winning over hurdles at Thurles and being placed three times over flights and fences. Jockey Oran McGill is good value for his 7lb claim. So They Tell Me is very much unexposed on handicap debut with three outings in maiden hurdles that yielded a best finish of third at Limerick. Teagarden Jazz has a very lengthy absence to overcome but has fair form behind useful horses, so a market move would be significant.
It might be worth siding with CLUB MANAGER, who gets a handy age allowance on this handicap debut and he has to be capable of better in this sphere given his Flat ability. Wrecking Ball Paul figures on a tempting mark and is a danger, while market support for So They Tell Me would look ominous.
Fit from the AW, WRECKING BALL PAUL could be hard to catch around this tight circuit with the ground coming in his favour

1st (2) (9/2 +25%) Me Wee Bonnie Lass |
9/2(+25%) | (2) Me Wee Bonnie Lass 9/2, Thrice-raced winner over hurdles. 2 wins from 3 runs this season. 10/3, fourth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (20f, heavy) 120 days ago. Remains open to further progress dropping back in trip. 2m4f may have been too far last time; back in trip after a break and on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/1 -100%) First Dare |
9/1(-100%) | (3) First Dare 9/1, Latest win in hurdle at Navan in September. 7/4, bit below form second of 10 in handicap hurdle at Punchestown (16.2f, good to soft) in October. Career-high mark to defy on return. In good form early this season; back from winter break with ground coming in her favour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (13/8 +7%) Jolie Coeur Allen |
13/8(+7%) | (4) Jolie Coeur Allen 13/8, Promise in pair of bumpers and similarly offered something to work on in 2 of her 3 starts over hurdles during the winter. Goes handicapping with top yard continuing in fine form and return to a sounder surface could see her in an even better light. Beaten favourite in all maidens on worse ground; improvement possible on changed ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/1 -157%) Instant Tendance |
9/1(-157%) | (1) Instant Tendance 9/1, Fair in bumpers and having got off the mark in a mares' maiden over hurdles at Navan (2m) last month, she backed that up when second on handicap debut back at that venue 32 days ago, despite making her effort earlier than ideal. Respected again. Recent form on heavy, interesting to see if she can improve on better ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (125/1 -213%) Deep Sigh |
125/1(-213%) | (7) Deep Sigh 125/1, Fair winner at 1m on Flat. Thrice-raced maiden over hurdles. Eleventh of 20 in novice hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, soft, 200/1) 38 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Hasn't threatened in maidens, lots of improvement needed to make an impact in handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/2 +61%) Grace Faraday |
11/2(+61%) | (8) Grace Faraday 11/2, 7/2, respectable ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (19f, heavy) 13 days ago. May prove vulnerable to less exposed sorts here. On a fair mark; needs to jump better than last time however, better ground may help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (6) (7/2 +42%) Green Sky |
7/2(+42%) | (6) Green Sky 7/2, Fairly useful Flat winner who has displayed promise over hurdles, best effort yet when third in listed juvenile event at Doncaster (16.6f) in January. Not disgraced back on the level at the Curragh (1m) 37 days ago and likely she can do better now handicapping in this sphere. Okay Lincoln run recently; 4yo now hooded for handicap hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JOLIE COEUR ALLEN ought to be able to do some damage off a mark of 109 on her handicap debut. A debut fifth in a Grade 2 bumper showed the esteem she's held in and, although she hasn't got her head in front in three runs over flights, her third in Fairyhouse got a boost when the winner finished runner-up in a Grade 1 mares' novices' hurdle at Fairyhouse. Green Sky was third in a Listed fillies' juvenile hurdle at Doncaster on better ground, so has to enter calculations in the first-time hood. Instant Tendance hasn't finished out of the first three in her last five races and will be gunning for victory having been beaten into second when odds-on favourite at Navan. Me Wee Bonnie Lass is two from three and shouldn't be underestimated despite a slightly underwhelming effort at Limerick over Christmas.
JOLIE COEUR ALLEN shaped with promise over hurdles during the winter and appealing as the type to do better still now handicapping/returned to a sounder surface she could well be the way to go for her powerful stable. Green Sky and Instant Tendance are others to consider in a competitive contest.
ME WEE BONNIE LASS won her bumper on similar ground and back down in trip here gets the vote in an open race

1st (12) (11/8 +15%) Theflyingbee |
11/8(+15%) | (12) Theflyingbee 11/8, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. 11/1 and hooded for 1st time, fifth of 13 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, heavy) on hurdles bow 60 days ago. Up in trip. Leading claims. Bumper form makes her a leading player; longer trip to suit too. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (16/1 -14%) Drumgill |
16/1(-14%) | (7) Drumgill 16/1, Modest hurdler. Fifth of 7 in bumper (33/1) at Naas (16f, soft) 20 days ago, needing stiffer test. Switches from bumpers to hurdles. Up in trip. Glimpse of ability when third in Limerick maiden but hard to see him playing major role. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (11/4 +21%) Break The Boundary |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Break The Boundary 11/4, Once-raced maiden. 20/1, second of 9 in hunter chase at Cork (20f, heavy) on NH debut 23 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Not discounted. Hunter-chase second with points' win on similar ground; interesting switched to hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 -41%) Confidential Gosip |
12/1(-41%) | (8) Confidential Gosip 12/1, Soldier of Fortune mare. Half-sister to a point winner and useful hurdler/chaser Crosshill, stays 3m. Dam (h98) bumper winner. Interesting newcomer from good yard in a weak race. Half-sister to useful hurdler Crosshill; market best guide on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/1 +21%) Ivy Hall |
11/1(+21%) | (9) Ivy Hall 11/1, Modest hurdler. Remains a maiden after 10 hurdle runs. Sixth of 8 in novice hurdle (28/1) at Punchestown (20.8f, soft) 160 days ago. 95-rated hurdler is 0-10; needs to improve but this looks an ordinary race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (40/1 -21%) A Year Older |
40/1(-21%) | (6) A Year Older 40/1, €5,000 4-y-o, Mamool gelding. Dam failed to complete all 3 starts in points. Doesn't appeal all that much on paper. 5,000Euros buy an unlikely type to make an immediate impact. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (20/1 -344%) Charlie Buckett |
20/1(-344%) | (1) Charlie Buckett 20/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. 5/4, fifth of 10 in novice hurdle at Thurles (15.6f, heavy) on hurdles bow 94 days ago. Significantly up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Emmet Mullins. May yet have more to offer, so worth monitoring in the betting. Beaten favourite on both Thurles starts for Emmet Mullins; back from a break for new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (10) (20/1 -43%) Kimjoy |
20/1(-43%) | (10) Kimjoy 20/1, Once-raced maiden. Sixth of 19 in novice hurdle at Naas (16f, soft, 125/1) on NH debut 20 days ago. Up in trip. Well beaten in midfield on recent Naas debut; hard to see her coming on enough to feature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (7/1 +42%) Storms End |
7/1(+42%) | (5) Storms End 7/1, €12,000 3-y-o, Kalanisi gelding. Dam unraced sister to smart hurdler/very smart chaser (stayed 3m) No More Heroes. The betting should guide. Out of sister to very smart No More Heroes; market support for debutante worth noting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (20/1 +39%) Mont Beuvray |
20/1(+39%) | (4) Mont Beuvray 20/1, Poor hurdler. Third of 4 in novice hurdle at Limerick (16.2f, heavy, 50/1) 31 days ago. Back up in trip. Has looked limited in six attempts hurdling, improvement needed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BREAK THE BOUNDARY could make an impact on his hurdling debut. He's a point-to-point winner (on decent ground) who made his track debut in a hunters chase at Cork where he was outgunned in second by a short-priced favourite who was formerly a classy sort. TheFlyingbee has some useful bumper form and could build upon a fifth place over flights in Fairyhouse. Confidential Gossip is a half-sister to a horse who has won twice over hurdles and this newcomer represents a strong stable in a weak race, while Kimjoy was far from disgraced in sixth on debut in a big field at Navan. The market expected Charlie Buckett to make a winning debut over hurdles at Thurles in January, but he disappointed in fifth. He has changed stables since then, so a watching brief may be best.
THEFLYINGBEE showed plenty in bumpers and the form of her fifth at Fairyhouse on hurdling debut a couple of months ago is the best on offer, so she gets the tentative vote up in trip ahead of Confidential Gosip, who looks the pick of the newcomers. Charlie Bucket is of interest if strong in the betting again.
THEFLYINGBEE (nap) holds the aces on her bumper form but probably has to step up a bit on her hurdles debut, this longer trip to suit

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Trainer Ian Donoghue has his string in terrific order with three winners from his last three runners and O'FAOLAINS GLORY has every chance of following up on her Down Royal success. She made all over a similar trip and sailed in by six lengths in the north and a 10lb rise may not stop her. A bit of better ground on handicap debut could suit Mystic Sage. Her brother has won four handicap chases in Britain on decent ground and a half-sister won at Listed level over hurdles. Cheekpieces are tried on Golden Nugget in a bid to eke out improvement, while Morrie In D Quarry is one to to keep an eye on in the market.
O'FAOLAINS GLORY left her previous efforts well behind when making all in first-time headgear at Down Royal 10 days ago and can defy a 10 lb rise. Mystic Sage should do better now handicapping so is feared most ahead of Morrie In D Quarry.
Declan Queally may well get improvement out of MORRIE IN D QUARRY who showed promise for his previous yard and won a point in November

16/1(-433%) | (4) Workforadime 16/1, Creditable second of 14 in novice hurdle (7/2) at Thurles (23f, soft) 153 days ago. Has good chance on form. Third to Hunting Brook at Down Royal in November and is stone better off; back from break. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WORKFORADIME was placed over staying trips at Down Royal and Thurles when last seen in November and has a shot of returning with a victory as she's not on a bad mark. Fameaftertheglory seems to be all about staying these days. He doesn't win often, but has the ability to do so in this company as he just gets in off a mark of 109 and Conor Stone-Walsh takes 5lb off his back. Tankardstown Diva is up in trip and class after obliging over 2m6f at Down Royal. The handicapper didn't miss that performance as he has tacked on 11lb, but she is an in-form mare from a red-hot stable. Hunting Brook has had a break since being pulled up at Doncaster in January. He did win his first two starts for Gordon Elliott, but may prefer the ground slower.
This could be the day when WORKFORADIME finally gets her head in front. She was a good second at Thurles when last seen in November and a reproduction of that effort would give her every chance. Tankardstown Diva hit the target at Down Royal recently and she is next on the list ahead of potential improvers Ballybrack Wood and Reversal.
Having shown promise in one of his 2m maidens, MILK MARKET, who is bred to appreciate this trip, is a speculative choice

11/5(-59%) | (4) Jersey Des Brosses 11/5, £370,000 buy, runner-up to Jingko Blue in point February 2023. Strong in the betting but shaped as if better for the run after over a year off in Fairyhouse bumper 2 months ago. Should improve. Big money buy and Fairyhouse third has quicker ground and a sharper track here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
A cracking bumper to round out proceedings. JERSEY DES BROSSES made a whopping 370,000gns at the Sales after finishing a close second in his point-to-point. There's no doubt he was disappointing in third on heavy ground in a Fairyhouse bumper in February, but he may put his best foot forward on this better ground. John Gleeson teams up with Henry de Bromhead on nicely-bred newcomer Withabitofluk. No less than three of his brothers have won multiple times including in a Listed bumper at Newbury. Addragoole reverts to a bumper after finishing runner-up in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal on St Patrick's Day last month. That performance gives him bright prospects.
Probably a warm bumper with ADDRAGOOLE the pick after his fine debut in a Down Royal maiden hurdle 5 weeks ago. Jersey des Brosses shaped promisingly in a Fairyhouse bumper in February when well backed and should improve. Withabitofluk and Jhentong Enki are also considered.
Following a fine debut run over hurdles, ADDRAGOOLE could prove the one to beat
