1st (1) (2.5/1 +58%) An Bradan Feasa |
2.5/1(+58%) | (1) An Bradan Feasa 2.5/1, Half-brother to fairly useful 17f hurdle winner Custom of The Sea (by Soldier of Fortune). Finished only mid-division in maiden sole start on Flat but could do better now jumping. Showed ability on recent Flat debut and half-brother to a winning hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (9/1 +36%) Pigeon House |
9/1(+36%) | (4) Pigeon House 9/1, Fair maiden on the Flat but well held completed start over hurdles. Some wayward jumping so far and well held when fourth at Killarney. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (2.5/1 -67%) Expelliarmus |
2.5/1(-67%) | (6) Expelliarmus 2.5/1, Closely related to useful 2m hurdle winner Common Practice. Fair form on Flat, stays 1¼m. Failed to meet expectations on handicap debut last time but good chance she'll make a hurdler. Well beaten favourite twice since promising third over 1m2f; half-brother a useful hurdler. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 -33%) Golden Temple |
3/1(-33%) | (3) Golden Temple 3/1, Fairly useful maiden on the Flat who showed some aptitude for hurdling when fourth of 12 in juvenile at this course (16.6f, good) on NH debut 32 days ago. Sets the standard on that run, albeit not a high one. Blinkers on for 1st time over jumps. Decent maiden on the level and fourth here on hurdling debut last month; blinkers back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (14/1 -65%) Millennium Rose |
14/1(-65%) | (7) Millennium Rose 14/1, 8/1, showed a bit of promise when fifth of 8 in juvenile hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, good to soft) on NH debut 14 days ago. May do better. Debut fifth at Down Royal doesn't leave her far off Golden Temple on collateral form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (5.5/1 +27%) Giselles Defence |
5.5/1(+27%) | (2) Giselles Defence 5.5/1, Fair maiden on Flat, stays 1½m, good effort last time. Could be a factor on hurdle debut. Stayed on well to be second in recent 1m2f handicap and half-brother to a hurdles winner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (66/1 +34%) Annalough |
66/1(+34%) | (5) Annalough 66/1, Little solid form on Flat so easily passed over on hurdle debut. Fair run in 1m4f maiden on return but ran poorly on handicap bow since; hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GOLDEN TEMPLE was reasonably capable on the flat and has hurdling experience. His flat form is at middle-distances and while well held on jumps debut here last month, the runner-up won subsequently and this looks winnable. Expelliarmus has caught the eye on the flat and while unexposed and likely to prove best of these in time, might benefit from today's jumps debut. An Breadan Feasa's dam is a half-sister to high-class hurdler Kalashnikov and is capable of improving from an encouraging Navan flat debut. Giselles Defence has middle-distance form but needs to improve with and softening ground not being ideal. Pigeon House has jumped left on occasions in two hurdles todate and needs to improve on his Killarney run.
EXPELLIARMUS failed to meet expectations on her most recent Flat outing, but there's every chance she'll take to this discipline being closely related to useful 2m hurdle winner Common Practice, so she earns the vote. Golden Temple sets the standard on his run here last month, albeit not a high one, while An Bradan Feasa needs considering, too.
The refitting of blinkers on GOLDEN TEMPLE is significant and he's entitled to improve from his creditable hurdling debut at this track

1st (1) (0.57/1 +22%) Dame Rapide |
0.57/1(+22%) | (1) Dame Rapide 0.57/1, Useful Flat winner who shaped as if back in form when second of 17 in maiden at Down Royal (16.9f, good to soft, 7/2) 14 days ago, conceding first run. Sets a clear standard. Is rated 95 on Flat; second in maiden hurdle at Down Royal; should take a lot of beating. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (12) (4/1 +11%) Zoomtime |
4/1(+11%) | (12) Zoomtime 4/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Second of 17 in maiden at Cork (17f, good to soft, 22/1) on hurdles bow 39 days ago, flattered by proximity. Showed improved form to be second in a Cork maiden hurdle last time; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (25/1 -108%) Nurse Garvey |
25/1(-108%) | (11) Nurse Garvey 25/1, 66/1, showed first form when third of 11 in maiden at Sligo (17.6f, good) 94 days ago. Beaten only 3.25l at Sligo in June; could get involved if building on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (100/1 -25%) Cedar Wood |
100/1(-25%) | (3) Cedar Wood 100/1, Just poor form in bumpers so easy to look elsewhere. Glimpse of promise in five bumper starts and will have to show improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (10/1 +70%) C'est Rien |
10/1(+70%) | (4) C'est Rien 10/1, 6/1, possibly needed the run when eleventh of 14 in maiden hurdle at this course (22.1f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Showed some ability last year but has been poor on last number of starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (9/1 +18%) Leahs Tricks |
9/1(+18%) | (8) Leahs Tricks 9/1, Showed more than she had in a bumper with a tongue strap fitted when fifth of 17 in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal (16.9f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Has 13l to find with Dame Rapide on Down Royal run but should get closer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (22/1 -144%) Letters To Juliet |
22/1(-144%) | (9) Letters To Juliet 22/1, Twice-raced maiden. 150/1, showed more than first time up when fifth of 13 in maiden hurdle at Sligo (17.4f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Much better when only 3.75l behind at Sligo; more to come, so could be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (11/1 -38%) Castle Ruby |
11/1(-38%) | (2) Castle Ruby 11/1, Placed in bumpers and offered something to work switched to Rules when sixth of 18 in maiden hurdle (80/1) at Listowel (16f, good) on NH debut 102 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Likely to improve. Creditable run in a Listowel maiden hurdle in June; could be more involved today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (66/1 -100%) Diverse Beauty |
66/1(-100%) | (5) Diverse Beauty 66/1, 33/1, shaped as if in need of the experience when maidenof 14 in novice hurdle at this course (22.1f, good to soft) on NH debut 18 days ago. Entitled to do better but is possibly more one for further down the line. Beaten 42l in a maiden hurdle over 2m6f here on debut and huge improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (150/1 -50%) Frisco Babe |
150/1(-50%) | (6) Frisco Babe 150/1, Down the field in bumper/maiden hurdle. Well beaten in a Cork bumper and Galway maiden hurdle, so not easy to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (10) (250/1 -25%) Maddies Lough |
250/1(-25%) | (10) Maddies Lough 250/1, Last of 14 in maiden hurdle (100/1) at this course (18f, good to soft) on NH debut 18 days ago. Tailed-off on recent C&D debut and can't be fancied on that evidence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DAME RAPIDE is rated 97 on the flat and ran well in a recent Down Royal maiden hurdle. Her flat rating improved from 45 to 97 in recent times and while her best form is on a sound surface, which is a concern with rain forecast, wasn't beaten too far in a Listed hurdle on easy ground last April and today rider claims 5lb. Letters To Juliet caught the eye at Sligo and while her two runs have been on good ground, has a national hunt pedigree so should handle easy ground. She should progress but the selection is more experienced. Zoomtime showed improvement when finishing second on good ground at Cork and also being national hunt-bred, should cope with easier ground. Nurse Garvey ran ok in an unplaced horses' maiden on her last run while C'est Rien ran well at Tipperary last October but has poor form since. Castle Ruby runs in a first-time cheekpieces.
DAME RAPIDE sets a clear standard, so this looks a good opportunity for her to open her account as a hurdler. Zoomtime and Castle Ruby can battle it out for minor honours.
DAME RAPIDE put up her best hurdles run when second at Down Royal last time. This is a weaker contest and she should score.

1st (6) (6/1 +40%) Dorans River |
6/1(+40%) | (6) Dorans River 6/1, C&D winner. 2 wins from 6 runs this season. 13/2, good third of 9 in handicap hurdle at this course (25.7f, good) 32 days ago. Should go well again. Two Kilbeggan wins before a fine 3rd over 3m2f here; 1lb higher today so should run well. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (5/1 +0%) Positive Thinker |
5/1(+0%) | (11) Positive Thinker 5/1, 7/2, respectable sixth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (24.3f, good to soft) 134 days ago. Can give another good account if ready to roll. Made a winning chasing debut over fences at Tipperary; below that back over hurdles since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

4/1(-14%) | (10) Tomas O Maille 4/1, Creditable second of 14 in handicap hurdle (11/2) at Galway (16.6f, soft) 4 days ago, no match for winner. Significantly up in trip. Second in a Galway handicap over 2m four days ago; takes a sizeable jump in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (7.5/1 -88%) Penny Jar |
7.5/1(-88%) | (3) Penny Jar 7.5/1, Has shown fair form in a pair of Flat maidens. Switches from Flat to hurdles. Fairly useful hurdler, creditable on last hurdle run. Not taken lightly. Acquitted himself with credit since his three wins last year; should be closely involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (12) (18/1 +55%) Broken Bond |
18/1(+55%) | (12) Broken Bond 18/1, Took a step back in the right direction when eighth of 12 in handicap hurdle (14/1) at Wexford (20.4f, soft) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Bit better at Wexford last time when beaten 12l; down 2lb but needs to build upon that. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (14/1 -17%) Whatsyourstatus |
14/1(-17%) | (7) Whatsyourstatus 14/1, Scored over fences at Clonmel in June and shaped better than result suggests back over hurdles when sixth of 12 in handicap at Wexford (24.5f, good) 86 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Can make presence felt. Chase winner was held off this mark over hurdles at Wexford since so needs a bit more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (6/1 +20%) Conna Cottage |
6/1(+20%) | (2) Conna Cottage 6/1, 11/4, respectable second of 7 in minor event hurdle at Sligo (17.8f, good to soft) 36 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell. Moved to this yard after being 4th in a Sligo claiming hurdle last time; of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (13) (28/1 +15%) The Great White |
28/1(+15%) | (13) The Great White 28/1, One win from 21 NH runs. Thirteen runs since last win in 2021. Below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Bellewstown (20f, good, 20/1) 69 days ago. Hooded for 1st time. Is well-handicapped in theory but has to get back to form; hood added. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (8/1 +60%) Cullaghs Star |
8/1(+60%) | (5) Cullaghs Star 8/1, 16/1, below form ninth of 19 in handicap hurdle at Galway (16.6f, soft) 46 days ago. Significantly up in trip and bounce back called for. Second at Killarney but was well below that level at Galway since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (16/1 -167%) Ounce Of Gold |
16/1(-167%) | (8) Ounce Of Gold 16/1, Shaped well switched to a handicap when second in 10-runner event at Punchestown (23.6f, good, 40/1) 96 days ago. Shortlist material. Best effort came on handicap debut at Punchestown last time over nearly 3m; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (14) (125/1 +17%) Courthill |
125/1(+17%) | (14) Courthill 125/1, No sign of ability over hurdles. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Tailed-off over C&D last time and can't be fancied. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
PENNY JAR was well held on the flat at Galway but is better in this sphere. He completed a hat-trick last year and while beaten on his last two handicap hurdles, nonetheless ran well in both, is ground-versatile and suited by this distance, with today's rider claiming 7lb. Rain is forecast so Whatsyourstatus' plans could be well scuppered again. He is well handicapped over hurdles but needs a sound surface. Ounce of Gold ran well on handicap debut last-time but is 4lb higher while Positive Thinker disappointed at Tipperary on his last run and returns from a mini-break. Tomas O Maille is 1lb ahead of the handicapper followed a recent runner-up effort at Galway but his quick reappearance isn't ideal. Dorans River has been in excellent form but is nonetheless an ageing 13 year old. Conna Cottage was claimed at Sligo last month and debuts for his new owner/rider.
OUNCE OF GOLD ran well considering he was left with plenty to do on his Punchestown handicap debut back in June and there are certainly races to be won with him on that evidence. Whatsyourstatus and Penny Jar head the opposition.
Consistent in defeat over hurdles and on the Flat since rattling up a hurdling three-timer last year, PENNY JAR can score again.

Makes handicap hurdle debut. May well do better. Made all to easily win a weak maiden hurdle over C&D last time; this is tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (1.62/1 +51%) Something Abouther |
1.62/1(+51%) | (5) Something Abouther 1.62/1, Promising individual. 1 win from 3 runs this season. Good fifth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Galway (22f, good to soft, 9/1) 44 days ago. Has good chance on form. Beat Ginnets Girl when winning at Punchestown and a fine run at Galway since; big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (22/1 -193%) Return To Base |
22/1(-193%) | (3) Return To Base 22/1, 9/2, unseated rider in novice chase at Tipperary (16.8f, soft) 73 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Cheekpieces back on. Won a Downpatrick handicap before two lesser chase runs; needs best back from a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (20/1 -100%) Minx Tiara |
20/1(-100%) | (1) Minx Tiara 20/1, C&D winner. Third of 4 in minor event chase (9/2) at Limerick (19.7f, good to soft) 113 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. C&D winner had been running respectably over fences when last seen; could run well. |

8th (4) (10/1 +17%) Fairyhill Run |
10/1(+17%) | (4) Fairyhill Run 10/1, Course winner. Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. 11/1, fifth of 8 in handicap chase at Killarney (20.8f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Run well at times but regressive over fences in last year; well-handicapped in theory. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (10/1 -25%) Ginnets Girl |
10/1(-25%) | (6) Ginnets Girl 10/1, 3/1, career best when winning 10-runner maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan (25f, good to soft) 21 days ago, pushed out. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Respected for top yard. Bumper winner gained a deserved maiden hurdle win last time and likely to be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (28/1 +30%) All Class |
28/1(+30%) | (8) All Class 28/1, First run since leaving Ronan M. P. McNally when respectable ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle (28/1) at Cork (20f, good to soft) 63 days ago. Others have achieved more. Dual-purpose mare should improve from her comeback run for new yard; not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SOMETHING ABOUTHER looked like a mare who would go on to better things when readily beating Ginnets Girl over a similar trip at Punchestown in June. She ran well on handicap debut in a very competitive contest at the Galway festival and can defy a 2lb higher mark. Emily In Paris gets nearly a stone from the selection and Michael O'Sullivan has struck up a good partnership with her. She's on a hat-trick and will appreciate stepping back up in trip after winning at Sligo. Ballybawn Belter has won two valuable handicaps this year including a 2m4f contest at Punchestown in April. Two miles was too short for her last time and she'll be more of a force over this distance.
SOMETHING ABOUTHER wasn't seen to best effect when fifth in a big field at Galway on her handicap debut and can show she's on a good mark now. Handicap newcomers Ginnets Girl, one of 2 for the Gordon Elliott yard, and Deons Diamond arrive on the back of maiden wins and may give the selection most to think about.
A Punchestown maiden hurdle winner over this trip, SOMETHING ABOUTHER ran a fine race at Galway since and can take this.

3.5/1(+36%) | (4) Paidi's Passion 3.5/1, Fair chaser. Career best when winning 10-runner handicap hurdle (11/2) at Downpatrick (21.7f, good) 18 days ago, finding extra. Switches from hurdles to chase and she's a key player. Hurdle winner at Downpatrick last time but has a bit to find with some of these. |

2nd (5) (3.33/1 -67%) Presenting Doyen |
3.33/1(-67%) | (5) Presenting Doyen 3.33/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Killarney in July. 11/2, pulled up in novice hurdle at Killarney (22.8f, soft) 21 days ago. Second to Hazelhatch Lady in a Sligo novice on penultimate start and claims if her jumping passes the test on this chase debut. Poor over hurdles last time; won't want too much rain but is rated 120, so a big player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2.5/1 +0%) Hazelhatch Lady |
2.5/1(+0%) | (2) Hazelhatch Lady 2.5/1, Fair hurdler. Career best when winning 5-runner novice hurdle at Sligo (17.8f, good to soft, 7/2) 36 days ago, kept up to work. Should be in the mix granted a good round of jumping now tackling fences. Dual hurdle winner previously second in a point' which will help making chasing debut. |

4th (6) (2.5/1 +29%) Sarah Beara |
2.5/1(+29%) | (6) Sarah Beara 2.5/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Successful at Wexford in August. Improvement needed now switched to the larger obstacles. In good form over hurdles lately; placed twice in points', which will help over fences now. |

5th (7) (20/1 +20%) Townhill Penny |
20/1(+20%) | (7) Townhill Penny 20/1, 20/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at this course (22.8f, good) 32 days ago, labouring from circuit out. Needs to get back on track now switched to fences. Point' winner is 1-17 over hurdles and was poor in that sphere last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (12/1 +14%) Mousey Brown |
12/1(+14%) | (3) Mousey Brown 12/1, Fair hurdler. 2 wins from 5 runs this season. Sixth of 8 in novice hurdle at Tramore (20.5f, good, 16/1) 29 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase and likely to find a few too good. Respectable on chasing debut at Kilbeggan but a poor hurdles run since; has a shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (80/1 -21%) Ballygriffin Girl |
80/1(-21%) | (1) Ballygriffin Girl 80/1, Eleventh of 15 in handicap hurdle at Killarney (20.2f, good to soft, 25/1) 20 days ago. Makes chase debut. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Poor maiden over hurdles and can't be seriously fancied in this company. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HAZELHATCH LADY goes over racecourse fences for the first time after winning her last two hurdle starts at Roscommon and Sligo. Second on her only start in point-to-points, she was taken out at Galway on Monday due to soft ground but did win a bumper on 'summer soft' at Wexford last year. Presenting Doyen is also a dual winner over hurdles and chased home the selection at Sligo. A 9lb pull in the weights brings her very much into the reckoning and she also has point-to-point experience. Sarah Beara landed a gamble over hurdles at Wexford before finding one too good under a penalty here three days later. Another with useful form between the flags, she looks progressive and can contend along with Mousey Brown who ran creditably on chase debut at Kilbeggan in July.
While PRESENTING DOYEN needs to bounce back following a poor effort at Killarney 3 weeks ago, she will have every chance of delivering on this chase debut if able to do so.The 5-y-o chased home Hazelhatch Lady in a Sligo novice on her penultimate start and meets that rival on more favourable terms here. Hazelhatch Lady is nevertheless respected given her progressive profile and Paidi's Passion, a winner over timber at Downpatrick recently, also enters the reckoning.
Though HAZELHATCH LADY has 4lb to find with Presenting Doyen on hurdles ratings, she is in the form of her career at the moment.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
COURTING VICKIE won over 2m4f on winter ground at Clonmel last November and comes into this in good shape after two recent placed efforts. The pick of those was last month's third behind a subsequent winner at Roscommon and she won't mind any further easing of the ground. Confirmed front-runner Rudy Catrail had been in fine form this summer until jumping poorly and weakening tamely at Wexford last time. A winner over further at Roscommon in August, he could easily bounce back and could be hard to catch if stealing a march on his rivals. My Friend The Wind returned from five months off to win over hurdles here at the last meeting and is now rated 6lb higher in that sphere. He went close over fences at Galway last October but has been rather error-prone so far over the larger obstacles.
It might be worth chancing that MY FRIEND THE WIND can keep the mistakes to a minimum as his recent course hurdle success shows he's returned in good form and his near miss in a handicap chase at Galway last autumn shows he is capable over fences. Second choice is Rudy Catrail who had an excuse last time and had been in good form prior to that. Glenmalure Lodge has been knocking on the door over hurdles in recent months and also makes the shortlist.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE EYE OF TULLA has placed form over much longer trips including around here but his sole win came over an extended 2m1f at Limerick in May. He won readily on that occasion and meets the runner-up Berliet Express on only 2lb worse terms so can confirm the placings. Berliet Express is a strong traveller but finds little off the bridle and a first win over fences has continued to elude him despite a string of creditable efforts this year. He was caught up the hill at Downpatrick last month and the easier finish at this venue will suit although connections will be hoping the ground doesn't deteriorate too much. Early Arrival won over hurdles in the spring and wasn't beaten far when sixth in a 2m4f handicap chase at Wexford a fortnight ago. This trip looks on the sharp side but he should be thereabouts in this company.
BERLIET EXPRESS isn't one maximum faith but he has a more solid recent record than most of these and perhaps this can finally be his day over fences. Early Arrival continues to look well treated on hurdle form and is second choice ahead of Itsalonglongroad.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SWITCH FROM DIESEL was well fancied on debut and emerged with plenty of credit when chasing home a Wille Mullins hotpot in a bumper here last month. She only went down by a length and can confirm form with the locally-trained River Robe who was two lengths further back in third. The booking of the very accomplished John Gleeson bolsters her claims. Sharp Object joined John McConnell after finishing second in a point-to-point at Tattersalls Farm in April for Pat Turley. The latter is a good operator and a fine source of winners and the daughter of Diamond Boy merits considerable respect on her Rules debut. Gordon Elliott's Day's A Dawning and Prove Yourself, a half-brother to five Flat winners, are newcomers to note.
DAY'S A DAWNING is from a good family and represents top connections, so she's likely to make a winning start for all that point recruit Sharp Object also looks a big player. Switch From Diesel is the best of those with experience in this sphere, so she can't be ruled out.
Ths is the racecard key.
