The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BALLYSTONE already has jumping experience from a run in a point-to-point and may be able to get off the mark now switching to hurdles. The Shirocco gelding has been placed twice in three bumper runs and was only denied by a head at Cork last month. That was a big run as he was only collared close home by a decent yardstick in Will Do. Sherodan could be a danger but returns from a long absence. The Hillstar gelding won on debut at Tipperary in July 2021 before chasing home a smart sort in Level Neverending at Killarney the following month. Seasett was a decent sort on the Flat in England, achieving a career high mark of 88 and is one to note on his hurdling debut.
Very likely to go to a hurdling newcomer, with BALLYSTONE, who ran to a high figure when second in a bumper last month, preferred in favour of Sherodan and British Flat recruit Seasett.
Switching to hurdles should be no issue for point runner-up BALLYSTONE who ran so well in his latest bumper.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (1.5/1 +50%) The Last Mardi |
1.5/1(+50%) | (3) The Last Mardi 1.5/1, Promising sort. Dual bumper winner. Fair form in 2 outings over hurdles at the end of last summer. Remains capable of better. Should go well on return from break. Two bumper wins and has shown enough in maidens to rate a key player here. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (200/1 +0%) Slaney Bank |
200/1(+0%) | (10) Slaney Bank 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. Last of 14 in novice hurdle at Wexford (20.7f, heavy, 100/1). Off 7 months. Back down in trip. Pulled up at Gowran (yielding) and tailed off at Wexford (heavy); no appeal for now. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RING O ROSES may be able to gain compensation here after a narrow defeat at Downpatrick last time. The Flemensfirth mare ran a nice race when third on debut at Navan and was a short enough price to open her account on her return from a short break earlier this month. After a mistake at the last she was collared close home and lost out by the narrowest of margins. She doesn't need to improve much to score now. Estepona Sun could be a danger after a good run to finish third on his return at Clonmel recently. The Last Mardi makes his reappearance having last been seen at Galway in September and is another for the shortlist. He was a dual bumper winner last year and showed a nice bit in two outings over timber.
The fact RING O ROSES has had a recent outing tips things in her favour over The Last Mardi, who hasn't been seen since finishing fifth at Galway in September. Lazer Wolf and Estepona Sun should get involved in the battle for minor honours in a race where it's hard to make a case for many.
The mare RING O ROSES appeals as the best option after running well in both her races and the form at Downpatrick last time is okay.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (1.25/1 -87%) Custom Of The Sea |
1.25/1(-87%) | (1) Custom Of The Sea 1.25/1, Promising sort. Won 16-runner juvenile hurdle at Killarney (17f, good to soft, 7/1) on NH debut 16 days ago, comfortably. Likely to improve so probably the one to beat. Beat more experienced rivals in a Killarney maiden hurdle; should have improved from that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2.75/1 +8%) Your Honor |
2.75/1(+8%) | (2) Your Honor 2.75/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Winner in hurdle at Limerick in March. 24¼ lengths seventh of 8 to Lossiemouth in Champion Juvenile Hurdle (125/1) at Punchestown (16f, good to soft) 31 days ago. This is more realistic. Limerick conditions hurdle winner before running below that form in a C&D handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (100/1 +0%) Ruby Jules |
100/1(+0%) | (9) Ruby Jules 100/1, 250/1, fifth of 7 in minor event hurdle at Killarney (20f, good) on NH debut 15 days ago. Beaten a long way on hurdling debut at Killarney and has enormous improvement to make. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (80/1 -21%) Wayne R Walker |
80/1(-21%) | (8) Wayne R Walker 80/1, Modest maiden on the Flat, making jumps debut. Sixth of 11 in handicap (6/1) at Cork (7f, soft) 25 days ago, met some trouble. Regressive Flat maiden after 18 starts and makes no appeal on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (150/1 +25%) Ardad Derek |
150/1(+25%) | (3) Ardad Derek 150/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Ninth of 13 in novice hurdle at Downpatrick (18.8f, good to soft, 125/1) 11 days ago. Just a hint of ability in a bumper and two maiden hurdles; more interesting in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (200/1 +20%) My Good Pal |
200/1(+20%) | (7) My Good Pal 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 200/1, last of 13 in juvenile hurdle at Tipperary (16f, good) on hurdles bow 12 days ago. Has shown little in bumpers and a maiden hurdle, so passed over. |

80/1(-142%) | (5) Liquid Metric 80/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. First run since leaving James Horton when fourteenth of 16 in juvenile hurdle (100/1) at Cork (16.8f, good to soft) on NH debut 24 days ago. Tailed-off on hurdling debut for this yard and can only be watched. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
This looks like a nice stepping stone for CUSTOM OF THE SEA after an impressive winning debut at Killarney 16 days ago. The Soldier Of Fortune gelding asserted in good style going to the last on his racecourse bow and looked open to plenty of improvement then having made a couple of slight errors in the closing stages. Your Honor sets the standard off a mark of 120 and has to be respected. He was outclassed in Grade 1 company at Punchestown last time but had run a solid race in handicap company previously off a pound higher mark. Media Naranja also ran well in handicap company last time, when third at Cheltenham last month, and is another that has to come into calculations.
Three in with a chance here and it's CUSTOM OF THE SEA who receives the vote having created a very favourable impression when making a winning debut at Killarney a fortnight ago. Media Naranja and Your Honor are feared most, in that order.
Though CUSTOM OF THE SEA must have been fairly wound up to win at Killarney on debut, there is surely improvement to come.

Got a 13lb hike for C&D win but good claimer stays aboard and has to be on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (12/1 +57%) Vischio |
12/1(+57%) | (6) Vischio 12/1, Tenth of 14 in handicap hurdle (40/1) at Clonmel (16.2f, soft) 19 days ago. Needs a couple of these to falter. Creditable run on soft ground at Clonmel last time and this surface will suit better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (2.75/1 +8%) Royal Eagle |
2.75/1(+8%) | (3) Royal Eagle 2.75/1, Promising sort who was returning from 8 months off when winning 14-runner handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft) 18 days ago. 9 lb higher now but remains open to improvement in this sphere. Raised 8lb for Kilbeggan win but there should be improvement to come; of strong interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (7.5/1 +25%) First Dare |
7.5/1(+25%) | (9) First Dare 7.5/1, 20/1, good 4 lengths fourth of 14 to Royal Eagle in handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan (16f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Each-way claims. Fourth to Royal Eagle at Kilbeggan last time; needs a bit more but should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (2.25/1 +63%) Calico |
2.25/1(+63%) | (8) Calico 2.25/1, Belatedly off the mark at Tramore (16f) last month and improved on that when making a successful handicap bow at Perth (16.2f, good, 3/1) 12 days ago. This looks tougher but not taken lightly. Won a Tramore maiden and a Perth handicap lately; this is more competitive but respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (125/1 +17%) Athagabhain |
125/1(+17%) | (11) Athagabhain 125/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, pulled up in handicap hurdle at Downpatrick (21.5f, good to soft, 66/1). Off 7 months. Back down in trip. Very hard to make a case for. Maiden is in poor form and has little chance from 15lb out of the handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (16/1 +52%) Bonarc |
16/1(+52%) | (5) Bonarc 16/1, Latest win in hurdle at Kilbeggan in May 2022. 50/1, pulled up in listed mares event at Punchestown (18.2f, good to soft) won by Queens Brook. Off 6 months. Work to do. Last won off this mark a year ago; will have to be tuned up on return. |

8th (2) (22/1 +12%) Razzle Dazzle Love |
22/1(+12%) | (2) Razzle Dazzle Love 22/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2020. 22/1, respectable third of 8 in handicap hurdle at this course (17.4f, soft) 46 days ago. Others preferred. Some encouragement from her hurdle run here last time; has to do more, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (14/1 -75%) Je T'ai Porte |
14/1(-75%) | (1) Je T'ai Porte 14/1, Lightly-raced winner over hurdles. Career best when winning 12-runner novice hurdle at Clonmel (16.2f, soft, 4/1) 19 days ago. Makes handicap hurdle debut. Likely to improve. Got off the mark in a Clonmel maiden on soft ground and she has to enter calculations. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Course form here is always a bonus and CAN'T STOP SMILING may be able to defy a 13lb hike for her wide-margin success here at the start of the month. The Walk In The Park mare stretched clear to win by 12 lengths on her handicap debut and there looks more to come from the unexposed five-year-old. This is a competitive contest and Gordon Elliott saddles two last time out winners. Calico has really found the winning thread now having been frustrating and she could be nicely treated with Danny Gilligan taking 7lb off her back. Stablemate Royal Eagle won well at Kilbeggan recently and is another for the shortlist.
Preference is for ROYAL EAGLE, who resumed her progress when scoring at Kilbeggan earlier this month and remains low mileage over hurdles. Can't Stop Smiling and Calico head the list of dangers.
Though CAN'T STOP SMILING is 13lb higher than for her easy C&D win last time, she could well defy that rise.

Likely to play a big part if fully tuned-up back from a 6-month break. Back hurdling with a second at Fairyhouse; up 5lb and down in distance. |

2nd (3) (6.5/1 +68%) Solitary Man |
6.5/1(+68%) | (3) Solitary Man 6.5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 20/1, creditable sixth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.1f, soft) 19 days ago. Open to progress and he's one to be interested in. Only 6th on handicap debut when ground was soft; this surface may well suit better. |

22/1(+78%) | (14) Jinxs Link 22/1, Thirteenth of 18 in handicap hurdle (50/1) at Naas (16.3f, soft) 61 days ago. Plenty to find on form. Looks limited and failed to raise his profile when 50-1 for handicap debut at Naas. |

7th (6) (8/1 +33%) The Toothpicker |
8/1(+33%) | (6) The Toothpicker 8/1, 16/1, first run since leaving David Kenneth Budds when a below-par tenth of 20 in handicap hurdle at Cork (16f, soft) 50 days ago, unable to sustain effort. That run was probably need (first start for 14 months) and he's one to consider. Could strip fitter for his return to action at Cork when finishing in midfield. |

25/1(+62%) | (15) Globetrottersivola 25/1, 12/1, tenth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (19.1f, heavy) 173 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Best to look elsewhere. Maiden after 10 starts and has now had a few chances in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (22/1 -175%) Peace Party |
22/1(-175%) | (10) Peace Party 22/1, Fifteen runs since last win in 2021. Pulled up in handicap hurdle (12/1) at this course (16.6f, good to soft) 28 days ago. That run can be overlooked and not completely ruled out here off a workable mark. Tailed off throughout after starting very sluggishly here four weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (80/1 -21%) Chequer Square |
80/1(-21%) | (12) Chequer Square 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 66/1, pulled up in handicap hurdle at this course (16.6f, good to soft) 28 days ago, effort when not fluent 3 out. Longstanding maiden (0-17) and his handicap debut in this discipline was very forgettable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (11/1 +39%) Listentillitellyea |
11/1(+39%) | (1) Listentillitellyea 11/1, Remains a maiden after 18 NH runs. Eleventh of 14 in handicap hurdle (10/1) at Killarney (17f, good to soft) 16 days ago. Likely he'll come up short once again. Now 0-16 as a hurdler after finishing tailed off in a competitive Killarney handicap. |

Bit below form fifth of 18 in novice hurdle (3/1) at Gowran (16f, heavy) 80 days ago but has the look of a likely improver now making her way down the handicap route. Placed in maidens and could have some potential lurking off this initial mark. |

13th (2) (20/1 -43%) Filon D'oudairies |
20/1(-43%) | (2) Filon D'oudairies 20/1, Latest win in chase at Thurles in December. 7/2, tenth of 13 in handicap chase at Thurles (17.8f, good to soft) 163 days ago. 20/1(+70%) | (11) Abu Hazem 20/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Unseated rider in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (16f, soft, 50/1) 42 days ago. Difficult ask. Unseated early on his handicap debut at Tipperary when a 50-1 chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
15th (9) (66/1 -65%) Ashqar |
66/1(-65%) | (9) Ashqar 66/1, 50/1 and blinkered for 1st time, first run since leaving Declan Queally when fifth of 6 in minor event chase at Sligo (21.2f, good to soft). Off 8 months. Switches from chase to hurdles and down in trip. A happier horse over hurdles but career strike-rate of 1-52 sets the alarm bells ringing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
WE'LLHAVEWAN may be able to make the most of his lower hurdles mark in this. Willie Mullins' charge was beaten favourite when last seen at Fairyhouse in November but that was on testing ground and this sounder surface should be more to his liking now. The Imperial Monarch gelding won over fences on his first outing for the champion trainer and is rated 11lb higher over the larger obstacles. Mitiva was well beaten when sent off favourite in a maiden hurdle at Gowran on her last outing but may appreciate nicer ground now and could be well treated on her handicap debut, judged on previous form. Ballinlough Gale was third behind easy winner Can't Stop Smiling here last time and off the same mark has place prospects again.
There was plenty of promise in ATLANTIC WONDER's reappearance effort at Down Royal and he could be the answer if able to build on that here. Next on the list is The Toothpicker, who should be all the better for his comeback spin at Cork and this 6-y-o is lurking on a decent mark. Mitiva is of strong interest now handicapping and is shortlisted, along with the Willie Mullins-trained We'llhavewan and likely improvers Eighty Eight and Solitary Man.
A few with chances in a competitive handicap but MITIVA might be the answer now sent into handicaps.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ARCTIC AMBITION was value for a bit more than his winning margin at Limerick recently and can follow up here. Danny Gilligan gave his mount a confident ride last time and he flew the last to record a cosy three-parts-of-a-length win over Tilloughna. The front pair pulled well clear of the field then. This doesn't look a particularly strong race now. Glenmalure Lodge would appear an obvious danger having run well to chase home Bugscuffle here earlier in the month. She only got a couple of pounds for that run. Aliunde has ran solid races on his last couple of outings and is another that has to be considered.
ARCTIC AMBITION boasts a good strike rate over fences and opened his account at the twelfth attempt in this sphere at Limerick just four days ago. He is now 2-3 under Danny Gilligan and, provided that this doesn't come too soon, the 8-y-o should prove very hard to beat under a penalty. Glenmalure Lodge remains winless following 17 attempts over hurdles but she's a live each-way player on the back of a solid effort here. Aliunde, Portland Row and Silverstrand are others with each-way claims.
Gordon Elliott looks to strike while the iron is hot with ARCTIC AMBITION (nap) after he exploited his lower hurdle mark last Friday.

125/1(-25%) | (15) Shackleton Island 125/1, Fifteenth of 17 in handicap hurdle at Cork (24.8f, good to soft, 125/1) 24 days ago. Readily opposed. Has offered very little in his handicaps thus far and was 50-1 or bigger for all of them. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BUGSCUFFLE was a good winner over slightly shorter here earlier in the month and this looks a good opportunity to secure a follow-up win. The September Storm gelding went up 7lb for that success, his third outing for Andrew McNamara, but still looks on a competitive mark in an ordinary event. Gold Haven looks a danger. She ran well in more competitive events at Navan early in the year and her trainer Paul Flynn has his team in fine form. Duffys Getaway didn't run too badly when fourth down in Cork last time and could be place material in this.
DUFFYS GETAWAY has been given a chance by the handicapper and posted his best effort over hurdles when fourth at Cork earlier this month. He gets the nod in an open-looking contest. Bugscuffle and Iridescent should also go well.
Provided a three-month break doesn't stall her progress then GOLD HAVEN should run well after an encouraging start for Paul Flynn.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
DR EGGMAN looks the one they have to beat in this. The Saint Des Saints gelding comes here off the back of a good run to finish third in a strong contest at Punchestown last month. He has been third on both starts now and looks to be facing an easier task now. Arabian Diamond chased home another Willie Mullins-trained runner in Readin Tommy Wrong here earlier in the month and should be thereabouts but could be bumping into a useful sort again. Intense Approach cost £210,000 after winning a point-to-point at Farmacaffley in February and he looks one to note on his first outing for John McConnell.
DR EGGMAN has been placed in good bumpers at Fairyhouse and Punchestown this spring and will likely be hard to beat unless the betting speaks strongly in the favour of expensive point recruit Intense Approach. Gordon Elliott's Arabian Diamond is best of the remainder.
It is difficult to oppose DR EGGMAN after a solid comeback run at Punchestown, with improvement likely too.
Ths is the racecard key.
