15/2(-88%) | (8) Primoz 15/2, Runner-up both starts in Irish points in spring 2023 and bought for £150,000 after, so is an interesting Rules newcomer. Second in two Irish points in the spring before changing hands for £150,000. |

9/1(+10%) | (1) I Love My Baie 9/1, Successful on the first of 2 starts in bumpers and impressed in making a winning hurdling debut in 5-runner event at Perth in July, just shaken up to assert. Shoulders a penalty but he's a good looker who's entitled to progress. Pushed-out winner of five-runner Perth maiden on hurdling debut; this will be tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (6/5 +13%) Florida Dreams |
6/5(+13%) | (3) Florida Dreams 6/5, Doyen gelding who overcame some trouble to make it 2 from 2 in bumpers in 20-runner Grade 2 at Aintree in April. Exciting recruit to the hurdling ranks. Grade 2 bumper winner at Aintree festival in April; exciting prospect for novice hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/5 +13%) Indeevar Bleu |
6/5(+13%) | (5) Indeevar Bleu 6/5, Looked something out of the ordinary when blowing away the opposition in a Wetherby bumper on debut back in March. Exciting prospect for hurdling. Created very good impression when winning soft-ground Wetherby bumper by 12l in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (40/1 +39%) Ballyfort |
40/1(+39%) | (2) Ballyfort 40/1, £30,000 5-y-o, Fame And Glory gelding. Dam (h121), hurdle winner around 2m (stayed 19f), sister to modest hurdler (2½m winner) Metro Boulot Dodo. Maiden Irish pointer, third last time (Apr 8). Placed in three of his six Irish points; bought for £30,000 in May; rules debut today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (80/1 +36%) Joie More |
80/1(+36%) | (6) Joie More 80/1, €58,000 3-y-o, £18,000 5-y-o, Getaway gelding. Closely related to fair chaser Whiskey Lullaby, and half-brother to numerous winners, including very smart hurdler/chaser Petit Robin. Dam unraced. Made frame both completed starts in Irish points, pulled up latest (May 1). Ability in Irish points before changing hands for £18,000; tough task on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (100/1 -203%) Snow Shepherdess |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Snow Shepherdess 100/1, Half-sister to numerous Flat winners and made a sound start to her career when placed in a couple of bumpers earlier in the year. Not bred for jumping but he's a good-looking type who should have a future over hurdles. Showed clear promise in two bumpers in early part of season; others look stronger here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 +0%) Paddy Elvis |
40/1(+0%) | (7) Paddy Elvis 40/1, Modest in bumpers and ran to only a similar level sent hurdling at Sedgefield (16.8f, good to soft) 24 days ago. Respectable fifth in run-of-the-mill Sedgefield maiden on recent hurdle debut. |

9th (4) (200/1 -60%) Follow Charlie |
200/1(-60%) | (4) Follow Charlie 200/1, Well held in bumper/maiden hurdle. Sold from Paul John Gilligan for only £2,500 in September. Well beaten at triple-digit odds in two Irish bumpers in the spring; stable/hurdle debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FLORIDA DREAMS confirmed the promise of his debut success at Musselburgh when taking the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree and Nicky Richards appears to have another bright prospect on his hands. That said, the five-year-old is unlikely to have things his own way on his hurdling debut with impressive Wetherby scorer Indeevar Bleu in opposition. Olly Murphy's charge bounded clear on his racecourse bow and has to be considered a strong threat. Primoz and I Love My Baie are others capable of a decent showing.
A strong race of its type for the track. INDEEVAR BLEU and Florida Dream are 2 cracking hurdling prospects judged on their bumper exploits. The latter won a Grade 2 event at Aintree in April, but it was very hard not to be impressed with the way the former blew away the opposition at Wetherby in March and he shades the vote. I Love My Baie shouldn't be overlooked either.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (12/1 +25%) Hombre De Guerra |
12/1(+25%) | (3) Hombre De Guerra 12/1, Shaped better than he had in a bumper when fifth of 11 in a C&D novice hurdle (good to soft) in February. Entitled to progress again but may be brought along with handicaps in mind. Showed promise behind a useful stablemate over C&D in April; could be in the mix on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (4/5 +27%) Joshua Des Flos |
4/5(+27%) | (4) Joshua Des Flos 4/5, Placed both starts in bumpers (latest in May) and shaped well when third of 22 in a Punchestown maiden hurdle (19.4f last November. Open to improvement and has leading claims on first run since rejoining former yard. Sets clear standard on his third at Punchestown; big player back over hurdles on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (40/1 -300%) Dream Boy |
40/1(-300%) | (2) Dream Boy 40/1, Successful on last of 3 starts in Irish points and offered something to work on when fourth in 10-runner Hexham bumper on Rules debut in June, needing stiffer test. Irish point winner who showed promise in his sole bumper; in the mix on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (50/1 -100%) Bishop Hill |
50/1(-100%) | (8) Bishop Hill 50/1, Showed some minor promise in bumpers but won't be at her best until tackling longer trips. Showed some ability in bumpers but this looks a tough starting point over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (22/1 -38%) Prontoanita |
22/1(-38%) | (10) Prontoanita 22/1, Shaped with some encouragement in a brace of bumpers and was given a considerate introduction to hurdling at Hexham (16.2f) in April. Has a good pedigree and should do better in time. Has had a breathing op. Her form has gone the wrong way and has questions to answer on return; had wind op. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (22/1 -100%) Marty Mcfly |
22/1(-100%) | (6) Marty Mcfly 22/1, Dead-heated on the second of his 2 starts in Irish maiden points last year and showed fair form when in the frame both starts in bumpers. First run for yard after leaving Patrick Neville. Irish point winner who showed promise in two bumpers; respected on hurdling/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (50/1 -213%) Am Still Here |
50/1(-213%) | (1) Am Still Here 50/1, Offered a bit to work on when a well-held fifth of 9 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (17.2f, soft) on NH debut 16 days ago. Should do better somewhere down the line. Well backed into 9-2 at Carlisle on recent debut but he finished a remote fifth of nine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (200/1 -100%) Lifetime Adventure |
200/1(-100%) | (5) Lifetime Adventure 200/1, Looks one for low-grade handicaps after this run. Well held in three bumpers and same story at massive prices in two hurdle runs. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (150/1 -127%) The Roc Hopper |
150/1(-127%) | (7) The Roc Hopper 150/1, 22/1, seventh of 8 in bumper at Hexham (16.2f, heavy) on NH debut 21 days ago, dropping away quickly home turn. Easily passed over. Struggled in his sole bumper last month and he's best watched on hurdling debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
JOSHUA DES FLOS has made an encouraging start to his career, making the frame in two good bumpers, as well as chasing home a couple of smart types in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. The form of his most recent performance, when third at Kilbeggan, has worked out well, with the first and second both subsequently winning. Little Miss Dante is feared most after a good NH Flat race campaign, with Marty Mcfly and Prontoanita heading the remainder.
JOSHUA DES FLOS shaped well when third in a big-field maiden hurdle at Punchestown a year ago and has to be considered the one to beat with improvement on the cards. Little Miss Dante ran out an easy winner on her second bumper outing and is the obvious threat.

1st (5) (9/1 -20%) Everyday Champagne |
9/1(-20%) | (5) Everyday Champagne 9/1, Made a winning chase debut at Doncaster in November and better form when runner-up last 3 starts for Nicky Richards. Can go well again in a change of headgear for his new stable. Needs to find a bit extra on return but he still has potential as a chaser; new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 +36%) I Am Gonna Be |
7/2(+36%) | (2) I Am Gonna Be 7/2, Fairly useful bumper/hurdles winner for Michael Scudamore. Pulled up on his final start at Newbury in March but tongue strap on for yard/chase debut and remains with potential after breathing surgery. Bumper/hurdle winner and she needs watching in the market on her chase/stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (11) (10/1 +17%) Sputnik |
10/1(+17%) | (11) Sputnik 10/1, Took this event 12 months ago but pulled up in handicap chase in the mud at Perth (20.1f) 38 days ago. No surprise to see him bounce back. Dual chase winner but he's exposed in this sphere and was pulled up at Perth on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (22/1 -120%) Ex S'Elance |
22/1(-120%) | (12) Ex S'Elance 22/1, Unreliable type but he wasn't discredited when third of 9 in handicap chase at Hexham (24.2f, good to soft) in May. Others remain more persuasive though. 2-6 over fences and is only 1lb higher than for last win; dangerous on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (22/1 +33%) Get With It |
22/1(+33%) | (7) Get With It 22/1, Dual chase scorer around 3m last term but he's yet to fire both runs this time around, let down by his jumping. Others appeal a lot more. On dangerous mark but he needs a major revival after another break; first-time visor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (16/1 -14%) Not The Chablis |
16/1(-14%) | (9) Not The Chablis 16/1, Seen out only 3 times since 2021 but he got back on track when fourth of 8 in handicap chase at Perth (23.8f, good) in May. Needs to build on it now. On dangerous mark but his last win was at 3m and he has some work to do after 171 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (10/1 +29%) Hold Onto The Line |
10/1(+29%) | (4) Hold Onto The Line 10/1, Completed his hat-trick on chasing debut at Musselburgh (20.3f) in November. However, possibly amiss both starts since and it's easy to look elsewhere. Won chase debut last November but disappointing in both runs since; bit to prove on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (8/1 -14%) Creative Control |
8/1(-14%) | (3) Creative Control 8/1, Back to winning ways in 7-runner handicap chase at Uttoxeter in September. Fortunate on that occasion given leader unseated late and below-par fourth at Bangor since. Needs to bounce back. Looked fortunate when winning at Uttoxeter and he came up well short at Bangor last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (28/1 -180%) Ardera Cross |
28/1(-180%) | (10) Ardera Cross 28/1, In good form in the summer until pulled up at Cartmel and Perth on his last two starts. Veteran has it to prove now. Eight-time course winner but he's been pulled up last twice and needs a major revival. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (17/2 +0%) Aviewtosea |
17/2(+0%) | (1) Aviewtosea 17/2, Three chase wins for Fergal O'Brien in 2022 and not disgraced for his new yard on the back of a wind op (also visored) when third in handicap chase at Stratford (22.6f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Enters calculations. Back over fences after wind surgery with a close third at Stratford last month; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (6) (20/1 +0%) Dr Sanderson |
20/1(+0%) | (6) Dr Sanderson 20/1, Disappointed over hurdles and failed to justify strong support on return to chasing when third at Uttoxeter in the summer. Pulled up both starts since so lots to prove. Has lost his way since his Cartmel wins last summer and has been pulled up last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (11/4 +0%) Thunder In Milan |
11/4(+0%) | (8) Thunder In Milan 11/4, Resumed winning ways with a career best in 9-runner handicap chase at Perth (20.1f, heavy) 38 days ago. Hiked up 9 lb but form has been franked so he's expected to be bang there again. Big improvement with his easy win at Perth and he still looks on workable mark; big player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
THUNDER IN MILAN created a big impression when winning easily on his return to action at Perth in September and he is hard to oppose on the back of that effort, despite a 9lb rise in the ratings. Aviewtosea was not beaten far at all when third at Stratford on his first appearance following wind surgery and he is likely to be in the mix once again, while Everyday Champagne and I Am Gonna Be are others to note.
THUNDER IN MILAN looked at the top of his game when going in at Perth last time and with that form proving strong Lucinda Russell's 7-y-o is taken to make light of a 9 lb hike in the weights. Last year's victor Sputnick is next on the list ahead of Nick Alexander's new recruit Everyday Champagne and the selection's stablemate I Am Gonna Be.

11/2(-10%) | (4) Glinger Flame 11/2, Is enjoying an excellent season and posted a career best when winning 6-runner handicap hurdle at Kelso (20.9f, good) 45 days ago. Merits consideration once more despite taking a 6 lb rise. Long in the tooth now but not far off career-best form when winning in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (18/1 -80%) Noble Birth |
18/1(-80%) | (8) Noble Birth 18/1, Dual winner over hurdles (at up to 25.7f) for Gordon Elliott last year. Pulled up on his yard debut at Gowran last month though so he needs to get back on track. Left Gordon Elliott after some disappointing runs and was pulled up on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (6/1 +63%) Son Of The Somme |
6/1(+63%) | (9) Son Of The Somme 6/1, A fairly useful hurdles/chase winner at his best but pulled up in handicap chase at Carlisle (20f, soft) 9 days ago. Goes back over hurdles with blinkers on for 1st time and something to prove. Ran poorly in a recent chase and now switches back to hurdling in new headgear; risky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (16/1 -191%) Barbados Buck's |
16/1(-191%) | (6) Barbados Buck's 16/1, Endured a disappointing 2021/22 season but got back on track following a wind op last term when posting three solid placed efforts for Paul Nicholls. Very much one to consider on his return for a new yard. 3-10 over hurdles for Paul Nicholls; first run since £20,000 sale in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (18/1 -112%) Caius Marcius |
18/1(-112%) | (5) Caius Marcius 18/1, Admirable veteran who bagged 2m5f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in July. Turned in a rare poor effort there last time but he's the sort to bounce back. Sprightly 12yo who collected his 12th hurdle win this summer; best on good ground, though. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (7/4 +50%) Wakool |
7/4(+50%) | (1) Wakool 7/4, Took this event 12 months ago and he teed himself up for a repeat when seventh on the Flat at York 21 days ago. Should strip fitter for that and is very much one to consider. Seven-time hurdle winner, including stylish success in this race a year ago; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (8/1 +0%) Bardenstown Lad |
8/1(+0%) | (3) Bardenstown Lad 8/1, Prolific in 2021/22 but below par when last seen in early summer, only tenth at Kilbeggan last time when tried in a change of headgear. Others appeal more. Placed in Grade 1 novice in March 2022 but generally very disappointing since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (8/1 -23%) Schalke |
8/1(-23%) | (7) Schalke 8/1, Ended last season in fine form, scoring at Kelso (22.7f) before coming in an excellent runner-up at Sandown (23f). Off 9 months but yard is among the winners so he's a player. In very good form when last seen in the winter but has fitness to prove here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (7/1 -8%) Aramax |
7/1(-8%) | (2) Aramax 7/1, Landed handicap hurdles at Cartmel and Uttoxeter in the summer and posted a respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Cartmel (25.4f, soft) 70 days ago. One for the shortlist. Dual winner in early part of this season; back from ten-week break today; could have a say. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Glinger Flame won with plenty in hand at Kelso last time and must be respected off 6lb higher, along with Wakool, who bids to retain his crown having won the corresponding event off an 8lb lower mark last year. Preference, however, is for the Rebecca Menzies-trained SCHALKE. The son of Malinas posted an excellent fourth in a premier handicap at Sandown in February and is able to compete from an unchanged mark today. Conditions ought to favour the eight-year-old, and a winning return might be on the cards.
SCHALKE signed off last term with an excellent second at Sandown and with his yard going really well he is fancied to capitalise on a handy-looking mark on his return. Last year's winner Wakool rates a big threat though after a recent spin on the Flat, with Nicky Richards' duo Glinger Flame and Caius Marcius also in the picture in a competitive handicap.
Last year's easy winner WAKOOL is 8lb higher now but has since added a Grade 2 success to his haul and might be the answer.

1st (7) (11/2 +8%) Whodini |
11/2(+8%) | (7) Whodini 11/2, Resumed from 3 months off with success in 7-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon (19.9f, good to firm) 25 days ago. This course winner remains with few miles on the clock so rates a player despite taking a 6 lb rise. Won under well-judged ride at Huntingdon last month and now 3-6 over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (5/1 +64%) Vintage Fizz |
5/1(+64%) | (1) Vintage Fizz 5/1, Bagged his second win over fences this season with a career best in 4-runner handicap at Bangor (20.3f). Not disgraced when sixth of 12 in handicap chase at Market Rasen (21.4f, good) 35 days ago so is shortlisted. Won two of first three chases and didn't run badly when sixth at Market Rasen last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/2 +63%) Donna's Double |
9/2(+63%) | (8) Donna's Double 9/2, Scored over C&D in January but well held all three subsequent starts, fifth back here on his final run in the spring. Plenty more is required on his seasonal return. Won heavy-ground stamina test over C&D in January but had mixed record last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/2 -27%) Famous Bridge |
7/2(-27%) | (2) Famous Bridge 7/2, Promising sort who posted a career best when winning 5-runner handicap chase at Wetherby (24.2f, soft) 7 months ago. Has more to offer so merits serious consideration. Struck form and won two Wetherby chases in March; can improve again this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (12/1 -140%) Dubai Days |
12/1(-140%) | (3) Dubai Days 12/1, C&D winner who signed off last term with a good second in handicap chase here 6 months ago. One to consider on his return. Looked as good as ever when ending last season with close second in valuable C&D handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (18/1 -29%) Punxsutawney Phil |
18/1(-29%) | (10) Punxsutawney Phil 18/1, Winless on Flat since December 2022 and he ran poorly on his first start since leaving Brian Ellison in Bangor handicap hurdle last month. Lots more is required now back chasing. Pulled up over hurdles on last month's stable debut and looks risky on return to chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (8/1 -45%) Grand Voyage |
8/1(-45%) | (6) Grand Voyage 8/1, C&D winner but he came in only sixth of 7 in handicap chase at Wetherby (15.2f, good) 17 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Consistent in first chasing season (C&D win); never involved after early error last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (33/1 -83%) Slanelough |
33/1(-83%) | (4) Slanelough 33/1, Landed 2m4f handicap chase at Newcastle in November and returned to form when fifth of 7 in handicap chase at Wetherby (15.2f, good) 17 days ago. Needs to back it up now. Unreliable nowadays but ran okay last month, after a break, and is on a good mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (11/1 -29%) Bleu D'enfer |
11/1(-29%) | (5) Bleu D'enfer 11/1, Fair maiden hurdler who signed off last term with a solid second in novice hurdle at Perth (20.2f, good to soft) in April. Not discounted now going over fences on his return. 0-7 over hurdles; went close at Perth in April but more will be needed on this chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (12/1 -41%) Hidden Commander |
12/1(-41%) | (9) Hidden Commander 12/1, Has got right back on track of late, landing handicap chases at Kelso and Hexham when also displaying a likeable attitude. This course winner has another 5 lb rise to overcome but can't be taken lightly in his current mood. Dual winner this autumn; moves up in grade today but is evidently in very good nick. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A decent contest featuring the hat-trick seeking Hidden Commander, while Whodini is arguably an even more progressive sort on the evidence of a comfortable win at Huntingdon last month for which he has been hit by a 6lb rise. For all that, preference is for GRAND VOYAGE, a C&D winner off this mark last autumn who is entitled to strip fitter for his Wetherby reappearance on ground which was livelier than ideal.
WHODINI looked better than ever after a break when going in at Huntingdon last month and can also boast a course victory so gets the vote in this competitive handicap. Hidden Commander also comes here at the top of his game so is next on the list in his hat-trick bid ahead of the progressive Famous Bridge.
Nicky Richards' FAMOUS BRIDGE (nap) ended last season in excellent form and is taken to complete his hat-trick on this reappearance.

1st (6) (7/2 -17%) Park Annonciade |
7/2(-17%) | (6) Park Annonciade 7/2, Went the wrong way in bumpers but made a promising start over hurdles, not needing to improve to land a Perth novice in August. Shaped as if still in form in a handicap there next time and remains with potential. Just a respectable third on handicap debut but may fare better on less-testing ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/2 +30%) Ginger Mail |
7/2(+30%) | (1) Ginger Mail 7/2, Made winning reapperaance in 2m Ayr handicap last October and mostly creditable efforts in defeat since, albeit his latest run at Perth was tame. Likely to bounce back after 6 months off. Not seen since a poor run in April but won this race when fresh a year ago; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (28/1 -27%) Ip Up |
28/1(-27%) | (8) Ip Up 28/1, Fair hurdler/chaser winner in France for David Cottin. 22/1, shaped as if needing the run when last of 5 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) 46 days ago. Others more appealing. Hurdle winner in France in 2022; made low-key British debut in September. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/2 -83%) Sleeping Satellite |
11/2(-83%) | (4) Sleeping Satellite 11/2, Winning pointer/bumper who also opened his account in this sphere in 2m1f Carlisle novice in February. Only third of 4 at Newcastle next time but type to do better this season, so worthy of interest on handicap debut after 7 months off. Won run-of-the-mill novice in February; not obviously well treated for handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (11/1 +8%) Lihyan |
11/1(+8%) | (9) Lihyan 11/1, Comfortable winner of Cork maiden hurdle (17f) last summer but still to reproduce his Irish form for current yard. Returns from 5 months off on a potentially lenient mark and can't be fully dismissed. Irish maiden winner in summer 2022 but generally disappointing in Britain this year. |

6th (10) (25/1 -39%) Darkest Day |
25/1(-39%) | (10) Darkest Day 25/1, Scored twice at Kelso in September but reverted to his weak-finishing ways there last time. Others make more appeal. Dual Kelso winner on good ground in September; well beaten there on slower ground since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (10/1 +17%) Rock Hurley |
10/1(+17%) | (2) Rock Hurley 10/1, Dual winner in France but somewhat disappointing so far in the UK and returns from 6 months off with something to prove. Dual winner in France last December but made underwhelming start to British career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (8/1 +43%) Chase A Fortune |
8/1(+43%) | (7) Chase A Fortune 8/1, Made the most of a good opportunity to get off the mark in 9-runner maiden at Catterick (15.7f)) in February but couldn't build on that subsequently and doesn't look especially well treated. Ran better than bare form suggests on seasonal/handicap debut and is 3lb lower now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (11/2 -10%) Transatlantic |
11/2(-10%) | (3) Transatlantic 11/2, Fairly useful ex-French Flat/hurdle performer. Made most of a good opportunity when landing a novice at Huntingdon 18 months ago. Not seen since but mark is potentially lenient. Not seen since front-running novice win for Gary Moore in April 2022; market may guide. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (10/1 +29%) Fenna's Loss |
10/1(+29%) | (5) Fenna's Loss 10/1, Fair hurdler who scored at Hexham in June. Inauspicious start to chasing at the same course last time but every chance he's back on his game reverted to this sphere. Made all at Hexham in June; needs to bounce back from last month's poor chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A chance can be taken on TRANSATLANTIC, who returns from a long absence and was last seen going in by over six lengths in a novice event at Huntingdon. The son of Le Havre now makes his first start for the Olly Murphy stable and he could be up to defying his mark of 115. Park Annonciade was beaten into third when failing to justify favouritism at Perth last time, but he should go well off the same rating. Of the remainder, Sleeping Satellite makes the most appeal on his handicap bow.
GINGER MAIL signed off last season with a poor effort but he's on a fair mark and made a successful reappearance around this time in 2022, so he's worth taking a chance on. Sleeping Satellite and Park Annonciade are less exposed and both rate as feasible dangers.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (15/2 -15%) Parisencore |
15/2(-15%) | (6) Parisencore 15/2, Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Haydock (15.6f, good to firm, 11/1) 175 days ago, dropping away quickly. Had been shaping up nicely prior to that and appeals as the type to take to chasing on return. Useful handicap hurdle; more exposed than some but makes chase debut from workable mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (10/3 +17%) Traprain Law |
10/3(+17%) | (8) Traprain Law 10/3, Has done little wrong since crossing the Channel, winning 3 times over hurdles for this yard and signing off with at good third in a course handicap. One to note on chasing debut after 6 months off. Progressive over hurdles since wind op a year ago; player if he takes well to chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (6/5 +36%) Chasing Fire |
6/5(+36%) | (2) Chasing Fire 6/5, Lightly-point winner who stepped up on hurdling efforts when making an impressive winning chasing debut in a novice at Uttoxeter last month. Opening mark looks reasonable and he's worth a chance to follow up. Very useful novice hurdler last season and won small-field novice chase last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -175%) Impulsive One |
33/1(-175%) | (4) Impulsive One 33/1, Scored over hurdles at Wetherby in February. In the frame both runs over fences and good effort back over smaller obstacles at Sedgefield last time. Not discounted. Useful hurdler (five wins) but his two chasing attempts in the summer were not convincing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (9/1 +18%) Kiki Badger |
9/1(+18%) | (5) Kiki Badger 9/1, Fairly useful hurdler who has already bettered that form over fences and remains with potential. One to be interested in switched to handicaps. Returned from break with two encouraging chase runs this autumn; each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (10/1 -18%) Rexem |
10/1(-18%) | (3) Rexem 10/1, 6/5, career best when winning 4-runner handicap chase at Ludlow (20f, good) 24 days ago, all out. Deserves respect for all that others are less exposed. Held on by a neck to make all in 2m4f Ludlow chase last month; 3lb rise looks manageable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 -25%) Royal Mogul |
25/1(-25%) | (7) Royal Mogul 25/1, Fairly useful maiden in bumpers for Fergal O'Brien and sound start over hurdles for new yard, winning maiden at Catterick in November and novice at Newcastle in February. Stiff task on final outing and should take to this discipline. 2-5 over hurdles; struggled in major handicap in here April but of interest on chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
It may have only been a three-runner contest that CHASING FIRE won on his debut over the larger obstacles at Uttoxeter, but he scored in commanding fashion and there should be more to come from the gelding. A Listed winner over hurdles last season, Marble Sands must be of interest, while course winner Traprain Law is another to consider for a stable in excellent form. Rexem and Parisencore are others to consider.
CHASING FIRE took well to chasing when landing a 3-runner novice at Uttoxeter a month ago and he's well worth a chance to go in again switched to handicaps. This has the makings of a strong contest, however, and Marble Sands and Traprain Law are both interesting chasing newcomers.

33/1(-65%) | (1) Bogleyburn 33/1, Shirocco gelding. Dam behind in bumpers/poor form over hurdles. Doesn't make much appeal on pedigree. Yard 0-11 in bumpers last season and he's probably a longer-term prospect. |

40/1(-100%) | (14) Shadow Royal 40/1, Alhebayeb filly. Dam unraced. Doesn't make much appeal on paper. Has a speedy pedigree and she's probably best watched starting out in a bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (5) (50/1 -100%) Foster's Fortune |
50/1(-100%) | (5) Foster's Fortune 50/1, Cannock Chase gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Foster'sisland. Dam (c110/h107) 2½m-3m hurdle winner (stayed 27f). Yard 1-60 in bumpers in recent years and he's probably one for jumps later on. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A difficult puzzle to solve with JUNKER D'ALLIER getting a tentative vote. He is out of Listed hurdle winner Star Flight and the four-year-old arrives here for the powerful Olly Murphy yard which does well in bumpers with the in-form Sean Bowen in the saddle. The well-bred Golden Point rates as the biggest danger for the in-form Lucinda Russell yard, while stablemate Helsgetaway should also be considered.
JUNKER D'ALLIER cost six figures as a store and represents a yard that often has its bumper representatives well prepared so, without the benefit of market clues, he's preferred to Golden Point and Helsgetaway, who also make some appeal on paper.
Ths is the racecard key.
