14:18 Ayr Stakes (Class 5) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The strength of Fred On Fire's Newcastle debut success has yet to be truly tested but, given that he pulled well clear with the runner-up, he needs respecting under a penalty. Dandy Man colt King's Call represents an in-form Kevin Ryan yard so it would come as no surprise were he to feature on his racecourse bow, though preference is for PENINSULA POWER. Richard Fahey's charge shaped with promise on his first start at Redcar last month and he can step forward with that experience under his belt.

FRED ON FIRE showed a willing attitude when making a winning debut at Newcastle 18 days ago and, open to improvement, he could be worth siding with to follow up under a penalty. Kevin Ryan's Gimcrack entry King's Call appeals as a likely type on paper and he's respected. Peninsula Power and Arbitration are others to note.

Fred On Fire sets the standard but has a penalty and it could be worth taking a chance on KING'S CALL winning on his debut.

14:53 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 8f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

ISLAND OF SKYE showed a willing attitude when recording a narrow success on the back of a 170-day absence at Thirsk three weeks ago. That performance can be marked up given that he was held up off a slow pace and, should he take another step forward, a 2lb rise in more than manageable. Young Fire bumped into a progressive rival at Doncaster recently and has to be of significant interest along with Going Underground. If turned out quickly following Saturday's victory at Hamilton, Jumeira Vision commands the utmost respect in search of a four-timer.

This looks a strong race for the grade with ISLAND OF SKYE awarded the vote having overcome the run of the race when making a successful stable debut at Thirsk 3 weeks ago. My Harrison George is still a maiden but shaped well in a deeper handicap than this at York last time, with Young Fire and Jumeira Vision likely to be bang there again.

Although without a recent win YOUNG FIRE is really well handicapped at present and is just preferred to Jumeira Vision.

15:28 Ayr Handicap (Class 3) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Mythical Phoenix deserves a change of luck having occupied the runner-up spot on each of his four starts for the Julie Camacho team. He's considered nudged up a further 1lb in the ratings, but the unexposed ALFA KELLENIC is a sprinter on the up and she gets the vote. A comfortable winner at Thirsk on her handicap bow in June, she followed up in similar fashion at York a week later, suggesting she is surely capable of defying a hefty 9lb rise. Others to note include Aberama Gold and Batal Zabeel.

Progressive 3-y-o ALFA KELLENIC had something in hand when completing the hat-trick at York so looks one to keep on the right side of. Batal Zabeel is another 3-y-o on the upgrade and is next best ahead of the consistent Mythical Phoenix.

The return of cheekpieces can see Tinto go well but ALFA KELLENIC is improving at a rapid rate and can make it four in a row.

16:03 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 6f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

RAMON DI LORIA looks set to make a bold bid having finished third at Carlisle latest. He was winning off a much higher rating at the same venue last season and it could be his turn again. Atomise will likely finish in the mix once more, despite finishing only third when sent off favourite here a week ago, while Earn Your Stripes won this contest in 2022 and is preferred to Water Of Leith of the rest. Giselles Izzy isn't discounted either if backing up her Hamilton success on Saturday.

WATER OF LEITH began the year in good form, placing on all 3 of his starts in March, and he can pick up where he left off to resume winning ways back on turf. The main danger could be Ramon di Loria, who shaped encouragingly from his reduced mark on his latest outing, with Giselles Izzy also respected if turned out again quickly.

Ramon Di Loria and Water Of Leith are feared but there are grounds for expecting an improved showing from MIGHTY POWER (nap).

16:35 Ayr Handicap (Class 6) 7f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.

CODE PURPLE has slipped down the handicap ratings and took advantage to record a comfortable success at Musselburgh. He made every yard on that occasion and can defy a 6lb rise if allowed his own way at the head of affairs once again. Makalu has won three times over a mile already this year and can figure over this shorter distance, while Global Humor could bounce back to form at any time.

MAKALU arrives ion the form of his life and with Ruth Carr enjoying something of a purple patch at present, he's fancied to notch a fourth success of the year at the expense of Code Purple, who cashed in on career-low mark at Musselburgh earlier in the month and remains well treated on old form. The enigmatic Global Humor can edge out Concert Boy for third spot.

Makalu is having an excellent season at about 1m but CODE PURPLE was back in good form at Musselburgh and can follow up.

17:10 Ayr Handicap (Class 5) 10f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

LEAP YEAR LAD bounced back to form in first-time blinkers when beaten only a neck at Nottingham. Kevin Ryan's four-year-old can return to winning ways and prevent Empire Of Light from landing a double in the process. The latter returned a surprise 28/1 winner at Haydock last month and is expected to be competitive, despite a 5lb rise, while the more exposed pair, Hortzadar and Tilsitt, have a bit more to find off their current handicap marks.

HORTZADOR looks on the cusp of another win after returning to form with a couple of good runner-up efforts last month and might be able to see off the 3-y-o challenge headed by Aviemore and last month's Haydock scorer Empire of Light.

Although disappointing on his handicap debut it could be worth giving another chance to the unexposed AVIEMORE.
