12/1(-20%) | (3) Kodigara 12/1, Showed good early on debut and had benefited for debut experience when second beaten 1 1/2l in a maiden at Musselburgh latest; sets a good standard Takes on some very interesting newcomers but sets a good standard for them to aim at. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) ![]() Victor Cee |
12/1(-167%) | (6) Victor Cee 12/1, 3 May; 60,000gns Victor Ludorum colt; half-brother to Albert Cee, very useful at 6f; top trainer; yard won this last year and this one of two Represents top northern trainer, who also saddles fellow newcomer Azizam; watch betting. |
A 230,000gns purchase last month and related to a host of winners over a variety of distances, STORM FORCE could be primed to strike on debut for leading connections. Karl Burke landed this contest last year with a newcomer, and he could have another smart one on his hands in the shape of Victor Cee, although he may need further in time being by French 2000 Guineas winner Victor Ludorum. Of those with experience, Kodigara stands out after a creditable second at Musselburgh earlier in the month.
Richard Fahey has a very healthy 10-33 (30%) record with his 2yos at Hamilton in the last five seasons and STORM FORCE earns the vote.

2nd (6) ![]() Dinamo |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Dinamo 11/2, Well beaten in a maiden at Doncaster only start; trainer going well with 2yo's this year; market support would peak interest Big price and well beaten on debut; needs to fare a good deal better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() U Turn |
3/1(+70%) | (1) U Turn 3/1, Midfield in opening two starts; beaten 7 1/4l in a maiden at Doncaster last time; top course trainer; eased in grade; chance Failed to match bit of debut promise debut but claims, despite conceding weight all round. |

8th (3) ![]() Gillali Lass |
13/2(-44%) | (3) Gillali Lass 13/2, Ran to similar level from debut beaten 8l in a maiden at Wolverhampton last time; may want further; squeak Has shown ability at a moderate level on both starts and may be capable of better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Twist Or Stick |
15/2(-50%) | (4) Twist Or Stick 15/2, Beaten 8l in a maiden at Wolverhampton on debut; should improve for that; threat Just a hint of ability at Wolverhampton on debut but may be capable of better. |
TWIST OR STICK showed promise when dead-heating for fifth with the reopposing Gillali Lass on her debut at Wolverhampton recently. This isn't the deepest of contests so if the daughter of Mehmas can improve for the switch to turf, she ought to go close despite a wide draw. U Turn has offered more than the bare form figures would suggest so far and he enters calculations, along with the Richard Hughes-trained Rajdad.
This may be best left to RAJDAD, who stepped up on her debut effort when switched to turf last time and is down in grade.

1st (5) ![]() Sharp Glance |
4/9(+39%) | (5) Sharp Glance 4/9, 6l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Warwick most recent run; winner has followed up since; the one to beat with improvement likely Plenty of promise in bumpers and again when third on hurdling debut at Warwick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) ![]() Jack N Jones |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Jack N Jones 5/2, Yard won this last year; below par fourth beaten 9 1/4l in a maiden bumper over 2m at Fakenham latest; placed on bumper debut previously; point winner; not ruled out Behind Late Note in her final bumper; was favourite so perhaps off colour. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) ![]() Last Note |
14/1(-17%) | (3) Last Note 14/1, Raced freely comfortably held in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Warwick last time; placed in a bumper prior; minor chance Promising bumper run but was a long way behind Sharp Glance on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) ![]() Grayland |
100/1(+50%) | (1) Grayland 100/1, Pulled up in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Ffos Las latest; not proven trip; all to do Has shown pretty much nothing in two bumpers and as many maiden hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) ![]() Miss Jaffa Cake |
80/1(-142%) | (4) Miss Jaffa Cake 80/1, Linda's Lad mare; fell in a point when last seen; watching brief advised on hurdle debut Failed to complete in two points and likely up against it here on rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (6) ![]() And She Was |
20/1(-67%) | (6) And She Was 20/1, Well beaten in a Mares bumper over 2m at Huntingdon only start where keen; off a short-break; looks stable second string on hurdle debut A weak 22-1 chance when beaten 20l in a Huntingdon bumper. |
A promising third on her hurdles bow at Warwick earlier in the month, SHARP GLANCE is entitled to have plenty of improvement forthcoming and she can get off the mark here. The Jamie Snowden yard can do little wrong at present, and Jack N Jones looks to be a key player on her hurdles debut, along with And She Was.
This looks a good opportunity for the well-related SHARP GLANCE who has nothing to fear from Last Note on their Warwick clash.

15/8(+44%) | (4) Moutai 15/8, Ran to balance of form on return and after a gelding operation when beaten 7 1/4l in a novice over 7f at Doncaster; top course jockey; up in trip; could progress Nicely bred and not the biggest surprise were he to show more now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) ![]() Sure And Stedfast |
28/1(-12%) | (11) Sure And Stedfast 28/1, Beaten 7l in a maiden at Ayr last time roughly reflecting balance of maiden form and about at level of official mark; could run ok at a price In the frame in three of his six starts; this stiffer track may suit; possible outsider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Say What You See |
33/1(-32%) | (8) Say What You See 33/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 10f at Chelmsford on reappearance; back to a mile here and could get back to form, but did run terribly latest Easy winer of a Newcastle nursery last November but virtually pulled up on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) ![]() Balayaged |
28/1(-133%) | (1) Balayaged 28/1, Going probably on fast side beaten 5 1/2l in a maiden over 7f at Haydock last time and pulled too hard previous start having run well on debut; returning from long layoff; up in trip; lot of questions, but unexposed Makes handicap debut after 292 days off; wouldn't be certain to appreciate the longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

15/2(-7%) | (2) Obito 15/2, Steadily progressive in maiden/novice company, latest 6 1/2l third in a novice here; fair mark for handicap debut and likely improver Has shown ability in all three starts; of interest now switched to a handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

11/1(-22%) | (6) Springbok 11/1, Well backed, but a bit below par beaten 7l in a handicap over 10f at Redcar last time either not staying or unsuited by the ground; down in trip here and could return to form Some promise last year but out of the frame in both handicaps since returning last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) ![]() Top Bins |
33/1(-106%) | (12) Top Bins 33/1, Down the field in a handicap over 7f at Beverley on reappearance; out of form; blinkers first time; up in trip; lot to prove Well held in all three handicaps and has something to prove up in trip; blinkers on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) ![]() Unforgetable Belle |
28/1(-75%) | (10) Unforgetable Belle 28/1, Comfortably held in a handicap over 9f at Wolverhampton last time having won a heavy ground nursery on final start of 2yo campaign; usually consistent; may return to form Won a Leicester nursery last October; might need a deluge now back on turf. |
Placed in a strong maiden at Thirsk last month where the first two have gone on to score since, A WAR EAGLE is of major interest on the step up in trip having had been gelded in the interim. Edward Bethell's charge may have too much on his handicap debut for the unexposed Moutai and Impartiality, who has been raised 3lb for breaking the maiden at Beverley last month.
The choice is OBITO who ran as well as could be expected when chasing home a couple of useful types over C&D last time.

80/1(-220%) | (9) Twilight Jazz 80/1, Well beaten in a handicap at Chester latest; usually consistent; returning from long layoff; plenty to find Bogged down on heavy when last seen in September; one to watch on stable debut. |
Count Palatine hit the frame in a similar contest at Ayr last month but while respected from an unchanged mark, it is PARK STREET that shades preference. Tina Jackson's gelding met all sorts of trouble when an unfortunate fourth over the extended mile here recently. It was a noteworthy performance nevertheless, and the dual course winner may well make amends. Triggerman posted a handful of solid efforts on turf last term and should not be overlooked.
A third Beverley win may well be forthcoming for PARK STREET (nap), who met trouble here last time.

Denied by the narrowest of margins on his first start for the in-form James Owen team at Warwick last week, MR LE PHILOSOPHE looks capable of gaining compensation on the rise in distance. Stablemate Market House arrives on the back of a victory on the level at Brighton, and he is of interest on his return to this sphere with Alex Chadwick taking off a valuable 5lb. Runner-up here last time out, Stinginhisstep is another to consider, along with Privilege.
James Owen's MR LE PHILOSOPHE (nap) is off the same mark as for last week's narrow defeat and he can gain compensation.

50/1(+0%) | (11) Jannas Journey 50/1, Well beaten in a handicap over 7f at Newcastle latest and generally poor form prior to that; one of a number in race for top course trainer and looks least likely Big prices and minor form for L Russell, including on handicap debut (AW) in November. |
SWIFT SALIAN improved from his first to his second start this season when narrowly denied at Thirsk last time out and he can regain the winning thread. Back to form with a strong runner-up effort over C&D, Ayr Poet can follow the selection home. The handicapper is slowly releasing his grip on Dingwall and he could pop up sooner or later.
Arkenstaar and Swift Salian are good for big runs but AYR POET gets the vote for a trainer and jockey in great form.

300/1(-500%) | (1) Elzour 300/1, No worthwhile form in all three starts to date; not proven trip; all to do Has shown nothing in a bumper, a 7f AW maiden and a 1m2f turf novice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) ![]() Wadacre Maestro |
7/1(+7%) | (4) Wadacre Maestro 7/1, Gelding by top-class sprinter Harry Angel; half-brother to Pipers Note, very smart at 5f; probably effective 7f; in the mix Has been found a modest maiden on debut and stable won this with a newcomer in 2023. |
IN A HURRY pulled her chance away over 1m1f at Lingfield last time out but she'd gone close on both starts previously. Connections reach for a first-time hood here and if that, along with a drop in trip, can help the Time Test filly to race more amenably, she could break her maiden. Saliko holds an official rating of 68 and might be best equipped to halt the selection, although Rogue Invader is no back number from a handy draw.
The vote goes to WADACRE MAESTRO who is nicely bred and won't need to be anything special to make a winning debut.

|F| (4) ![]() Tellairsue |
9/2(-29%) | (4) Tellairsue 9/2, Well backed 5l third in a handicap hurdle over 3m1f at Huntingdon most recent run where showed willing attitude; more to come over fences though may find this on the sharp side Capable hurdler but rarely impresses with his jumping and this is his chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (1) ![]() Illogical Logic |
13/2(-95%) | (1) Illogical Logic 13/2, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 3m at Southwell latest where lame; bit frustrating; returning from a break; not out of it down in grade if bringing best Maiden but has shown enough to be of interest and last run was too bad to be true. |
This can go the way of DARING PLAN, who was not beaten far on his first start after wind surgery when third at Fontwell recently. Stepping up slightly in trip promises improvement, and he gets the vote ahead of Tellairsue, who has been placed on his last two starts and should enjoy a return to this distance. Illogical Logic has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his fourth at Doncaster two starts ago.
He will need to run better than last time but ILLOGICAL LOGIC has races in him off his current mark. The forecast rain is welcomed.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (5) ![]() Actin Like A Diva |
50/1(-52%) | (5) Actin Like A Diva 50/1, Probably needed the race down the field in a handicap over 7f at Wetherby most recent run; generally out of form though and much more needed Hasn't progressed from her maiden win and was tailed off on first run for current yard. |
DOTHAN had his head down where it mattered to make a successful handicap bow at Doncaster last time out. Ed Bethell's gelding was only raised 2lb for that effort and given that returning to further ought to suit the son of Territories, he is fancied to repeat the dose. Mae Amor made a pleasing return at Ripon earlier this month and is entitled to build on that performance, while others to note include Larchill Lass and Defence Missile.
The one who may well be ahead of his mark is DOTHAN (nap) who needed all of the 5f to win last time and is just 2lb higher here over 6f.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) ![]() Mystical Maria |
7/1(-75%) | (6) Mystical Maria 7/1, Probably needed race 4 1/2l third in a handicap over 8f here most recent run, first two have really franked form; steadily progressive; up in trip; contender Lightly raced; mixed in handicaps but won one over 1m1f in August; satisfactory return. |
CASILLI built on her sixth-placed reappearance over an extended 1m here when third over the same track and trip earlier this month. A return to this distance looks ideal for the eight-year-old and, off an unchanged mark, she makes most appeal. Mystical Maria is another who should enjoy this stiffer test of stamina and Richard Fahey's filly may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Princess Niyla.
Mighty Quiet, Casilli and Bearwith can go well but WHATACRACKER can confirm the promise of this year's runs over 1m2f.

Kick Up A Storm has been given a break since he failed to complete a hat-trick over hurdles with a disappointing effort at Doncaster last November. Switching to fences could rekindle his interest and a betting check should be revealing. However, experienced chasers Planned Paradise and course-specialist INVESTMENT MANAGER look the pair to focus on. The latter won this race off 3lb higher last year and has a big chance of staging a repeat.
Any of the five might win but last year's winner INVESTMENT MANAGER could run around here with his eyes shut.

3/1(+50%) | (7) Digital 3/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark beaten 8l in a handicap at Thirsk last time; yet to fire this term; CD winner; lot to prove Major question mark regarding current form but he won twice over C&D last year. |
ORIENTAL PRINCE has found significant improvement since he was on target at Newcastle in December, winning six times subsequently, including a first turf triumph at Haydock most recently. The versatile four-year-old will have no problem returning to the minimum trip and he's fancied to continue on his upward trajectory. Digital hasn't been in the best form of late but he's too attractively handicapped to leave out of the equation. Hurt You Never is another to consider.
The mare HURT YOU NEVER made it 2-2 at Hamilton when winning over C&D two starts ago and gets the nod ahead of Digital.

33/1(-18%) | (8) Mist Rollin In 33/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 11f at Southwell most recent; generally out of form; down in trip; bit to find Yet to win and well beaten on stable debut/reappearance on AW last time; more needed. |
Having regained the winning thread at Hamilton recently, Hostelry warrants respect on her follow-up bid. A 3lb rise in the ratings is unlikely to prevent another bold bid from Ruth Carr's mare, but it could be worth taking a chance on DR RIO. The veteran endured a luckless passage when eighth over C&D last time and, granted better luck, compensation may be on the horizon. Panama City is also forecast to feature.
The one who appeals most is HOSTELRY, who comes here in fine form and, although 3lb higher than at Hamilton, remains on a handy mark.

14/1(-56%) | (2) Bagheera Ginge 14/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m4f at Warwick latest; trainer in form; enjoys making it; inconsistent; well treated on chase form; may just need this Potentially well handicapped on this return to hurdling and could be better for a break. |
Having made all over 3m1f at Warwick earlier this month, Striking A Pose warrants respect off just 2lb higher. However, Joe Tizzard's charge may find it tougher dominating a bigger field on this drop back in distance and AL SAYAH looks the most solid proposition. Neil Mulholland's mare arrives on the back of a career-best triumph over C&D and a 6lb rise from the assessor looks workable. Paddy De Pole is also noted.
A trappy race. Al Sayah could continue her good recent work but Warwick winner STRIKING A POSE gets the nod.

Savrola readily made all on his recent return at Thirsk and he warrants respect, but a 5lb rise and this bigger field will make things tougher. Instead, the top-weight KING'S SCHOLAR could be the way to go. Ed Walker's charge looks equally effective on turf or the all-weather and a 4lb rise for his comeback victory at Southwell is fair. Letsbefrank and Alnayef have chances for Jim Goldie.
Preference is for SECTARIUS, who made a good start for the Ed Bethell stable last year and could still have more to offer.

20/1(-11%) | (8) Jamih 20/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 10l in a handicap at Newcastle last time Below best since last win and off since October; no great record fresh and best watched. |
SAWGRASS ran a career-best on her first go at this trip when second at Brighton last time out, and a 1lb rise may not be enough to prevent the four-year-old from going one better. Star Delta arrives with similar claims after a strong runner-up effort at Catterick, while Arch Legend is entitled to improve on his first run for new connections when fifth here earlier in the month. Cloudy Rose and Twoforthegutter are capable of being in the shake-up as well.
Sawgrass has claims but this can go to TWOFORTHEGUTTER, who ran well at Carlisle last time and is down in the weights and in grade.

33/1(-175%) | (6) Peacocks Secret 33/1, Second beaten 1 1/2l in a point over 3m at Vauterhill latest; in good form in that sphere; down in trip; off a short-break; outside chance Competitive in this year's four points (on good or faster ground) but a 13yo now. |
YCCS PORTOCERVO shaped better than the bare result when weakening into fourth at Ludlow last month after some less-than-fluent jumping over the final fences. Moreover, the Martaline gelding's stamina may have been stretched by the 3m distance and this 2m5f trip could prove fruitful. The biggest threat may emerge from Cap Du Mathan, who arrives on the back of a respectable third at Cheltenham, ahead of On Springs.
After a good run at Cheltenham, CAP DU MATHAN is taken to have the measure of last year's winner Yccs Portocervo.

13/2(-300%) | (3) Redwood Queen 13/2, Probably needed race comfortably held in Mares Hurdle (Listed) at Killarney last time; hugely progressive last summer; well treated on these terms on that form; go close if getting decent test Weight structure gives her a clear chance against Beacon Edge who would prefer further. |
BEACON EDGE concedes plenty weight but is a former Grade 1-winner who contests a winnable claimer. Winner of the 2021 Drinmore Chase, he was Grade 1-placed as recently as last December and, despite being an 11-year-old, has run some useful races in defeat this year. Must Meet Cecil is helped by his rider's 5lb claim and while he landed a similar claimer at Tramore last month, was well held at Killarney subsequently. Six-time Redwood Queen would have strong claims on best form but was well held on a recent reappearance run.
If recapturing form shown around this time last year, REDWOOD QUEEN is weighted to take the measure of Beacon Edge over this trip

BRUCE BANNER comfortably made all on his first outing for Rebecca Menzies at Newcastle and the second has franked that form by winning since. A 3lb rise looks fairly lenient and he is taken to complete the double. Trojan Soldier was a staying-on second on his handicap debut over 1m2f at Beverley and has a definite chance upped further in trip here, while Joyful Sound also holds claims on her first foray into the handicap ranks.
The new trip looks sure to suit dour stayer GENTLE WARRIOR who will also be suited by any rain to fall. Joyful Sound is next best.

33/1(-32%) | (12) Stallone 33/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap at Newcastle last time; usually consistent; off a short-break; bit to find Has had plenty of chances since last win over a year ago and may prefer softer ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) ![]() Soldiers Design |
14/1(+36%) | (6) Soldiers Design 14/1, Slowly away beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Wolverhampton last time; generally out of form; returning from a break; bit to find Maiden winner at Brighton last summer but below that level since; others appeal more. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) ![]() Desert Master |
25/1(-14%) | (4) Desert Master 25/1, Ran to form beaten 4l off 57 at Nottingham last time; second run after wind op; best form on AW; risky Triple AW winner who has yet to win on grass and needs to raise game. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (8) ![]() Astapor |
8/1(+6%) | (8) Astapor 8/1, Beaten 2l off 49 at Wolverhampton last time after 5-month absence; enjoys making it; off a short-break; contender Shaped well after a break on AW last time and return to this stiffer venue should suit. |
Runner-up behind a subsequent winner at Redcar last time out, GOLDEN RAINBOW looks more than capable of regaining the winning thread off 1lb higher for his in-form connections. Fortunate Star has been knocking on the door of late and is a key player, along with Astapor, who is 11lb lower than his victory at Hamilton last May. Others to note include Araifjan, Beneficiary and Gypsy Nation.
The one who appeals most is ASTAPOR, who ran well when last seen in March and should be suited by this stiff venue.

13/2(+0%) | (3) Law Supreme 13/2, Ran to form beaten 2l off 66 over CD last time; conditions suit; beaten under 2l last twice over CD and close to finding level, in the mix On dangerous mark and he didn't get much luck over C&D last week; interesting contender. |

10th (11) ![]() Cherry Hill |
40/1(+20%) | (11) Cherry Hill 40/1, Down the field in a handicap at Brighton most recent; lost way twice prior; conditions suit well; needs big step forward on recent form but comes to life here and player on CD form On reduced mark but she's been tailed off in last two runs and is now 1-18. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) ![]() Vellner |
50/1(-317%) | (4) Vellner 50/1, Slowly away beaten 8 1/2l in a handicap at Bath last time; returning from long layoff; inconsistent; trip too sharp; best on turf; bit to prove back from a layoff On workable mark and market should guide on his return after 255 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (1) ![]() Mbappe |
16/1(-100%) | (1) Mbappe 16/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 7f here most recent; 1m fine; goes well here; off a short-break; not firing, bit to prove Out of sorts in last two runs and he's still 4lb higher than for last win; down the list. |
Cases can be stated for several of these and the shortlist includes Stella Hogan, Mbappe and Got No Dollars, who are all previous course winners that don't have much to find at this level. Preference, however, is for ADACE, who is handicapped to go well off just 2lb above her last winning mark and has her claims enhanced further by Zacharia Clarke claiming 7lb from the saddle.
This looks tricky but the vote goes to LAW SUPREME, who is on a dangerous mark and didn't get much luck over C&D last week.

10th (10) ![]() Jake Peter |
40/1(-150%) | (10) Jake Peter 40/1, Well backed down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Punchestown most recent where went too fast; in good form prior; place claims up in grade back from break Dual winner last autumn but struggled off revised mark when last seen in November. |
DUKE OF LEGGAGH has been kept busy and continues to hold form. A dual handicap hurdle winner at Naas in February, he is forgiven his latest pulled-up effort over hurdles as he was reported to have lost his left fore shoe in-running and has since recaptured his form on the Flat. Sunchart retains smart Flat ability and scored at Listed level in March. He remains somewhat unexposed as he is lightly raced in this sphere but wouldn't want quick ground. Grimaud is next best.
Winner of a maiden here last summer, classy Flat performer SUNCHART gets the vote here, providing the predicted rain arrives

|U| (9) ![]() At Vimeiro |
12/1(+45%) | (9) At Vimeiro 12/1, Ideally suited by trip when winning a handicap at Southwell over 2m by 1/2l last time; strong stayer on flat; returning from a break; not out of it on hurdle debut Bought for 34,000gns after 2m AW win in January; makes stable/hurdle debut here. |
SPIT SPOT bolted up when opening her Rules account at Musselburgh and a similar level of performance would make her tough to beat. Terrorise wasn't too far behind a subsequent easy winner at Market Rasen last time and he warrants respect with further improvement on the cards. Sam England's French import Sang Pour Sang is worth a market check at least, while Sedgefield maiden winner Celestial Reign also has a squeak.
Well equipped to cope with the forecast rain here, SPIT SPOT is taken to add to her Musselburgh win.

11/1(-69%) | (3) Mood Queen 11/1, 26 Jan; Kodiac filly; first foal; dam very useful at 7f, closely related to 6f Group 2 winner Lady Of The Desert; yard in good form; not easily discounted Plenty to like on paper and she needs a close look on debut. |

6/1(-140%) | (5) Palmeira 6/1, Too free early, but finished well when third beaten 3l in a maiden over 5f at Salisbury on debut; up in trip, but should improve good bit and go very well Showed clear promise with debut third at Salisbury; big player if she can build on that. |

6th (6) ![]() Quadrantids |
11/2(-38%) | (6) Quadrantids 11/2, 18 Feb; Dark Angel filly; full-sister to Tyrrhenian Sea, high-class from 8f to 10f; dam fair at 10f; top yard in good form; danger Has useful pedigree but she could be one for longer trips later on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) ![]() Audere |
80/1(-60%) | (1) Audere 80/1, 3 Feb; Too Darn Hot filly; full-sister to Pickled Pepper, moderate at 7f; dam high-class at 7f; looks tough task on debut Out of useful 5f-7f winner; first 2yo runner for yard this season and market should guide. |
NANDITA, whose price rose from 165,000gns as a foal to 725,000gns as a yearling, showed ability when introduced at Yarmouth a fortnight ago and is sure to be wiser now she has the benefit of experience. Her yard has won two of the last four editions of this race and appears to have another live wire on their hands. Palmeira is the pick of the other two with experience, while Mood Queen and Selmiya are interesting newcomers to consider.
An interesting race in which the vote goes to PALMEIRA, who made a promising start when third at Salisbury 13 days ago.

|PU| (1) ![]() Keep It Cool |
66/1(-230%) | (1) Keep It Cool 66/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap hurdle over 2m2f at Downpatrick most recent; well treated on debut form; not out of it despite top weight Fair fourth in a maiden hurdle at Cork last August, nothing else of merit in her form. |

|PU| (12) ![]() Getaway Blondie |
66/1(-100%) | (12) Getaway Blondie 66/1, Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Tramore latest where looked unwilling under pressure; unproven on fast ground; opposed No sign of worthwhile form, 66-1 when pulled up two out on handicap debut at Tramore. |
Course-and-distance winner ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE has shown much much more than her rivals and will skim across this surface. Although last July's course success was her sole win in 28 starts, she was beaten just a half-length in a Tramore chase in April. Chesterbaylad showed some encouragement at Down Royal earlier this month and being a four-year-old, can progress. My Good Pal was well enough held in three runs for current connections, while Sidiriya, a Flat maiden winner in 2022, has disappointed over hurdles but wasn't beaten too far at Navan in March.
Darragh O'Keeffe's mount ONEBRIGHTBLUEROSE is a C&D winner and is the most appealing of these on recent form over hurdles and fences

11th (4) ![]() I'm Too Tired |
11/1(-10%) | (4) I'm Too Tired 11/1, Pulled up in a handicap chase over 2m at Sedgefield latest; off a short-break; may find ground on the quick side once again Back hurdling on a good mark but looked badly out of sorts in his latest chase. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) ![]() Chantilly Moon |
20/1(+20%) | (13) Chantilly Moon 20/1, Below par comfortably held in a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen last time; generally out of form; not proven trip; easy to look elsewhere Showed no significant promise in his qualifying races; makes handicap debut today. |
LAWMANS BLIS is 1lb lower than when runner-up on his latest hurdles outing at Sedgefield and, with William Shanahan taking a handy 5lb off his back, he looks the one to beat. Like the selection, Chillhi arrives following a solid effort on the Flat and he must enter calculations, while Mr Sundancer and Top Of The Bay are other names to note.
It might be worth chancing VOCAL DUKE, who is very well suited by this C&D and has slipped to a very tempting mark.

9th (9) ![]() Desert Charm |
250/1(-67%) | (9) Desert Charm 250/1, Green and well beaten debut and no better second start when 9th of 11 beaten 10l in a maiden here; needs much more Finished in rear at big prices in two runs this spring and latest was over C&D. |
Dr Strangelove was a 16/1 winner on his debut here last month and is unlikely to be as underestimated in the betting tonight, despite stepping up in trip and picking up a penalty. However, there are a couple of notable debutants on show and it could be worth placing faith in the potential held by KYOTO, who cost 220,000 euros and is a half-brother to dual Group 3 winner Spinning Memories. Support in the betting for the well-bred Grey Soul could also be significant.
Several have claims but it might be worth siding with Andrew Balding's striking newcomer KYOTO, who cost 220,000euros as a yearling.

TELNOBODY's form was poor prior to a useful recent placing and should compete at the business end here. She is only a five-year-old so might continue to progress and had plenty rivals finish behind her at Down Royal. Ballycommon Chapel is a 29-race maiden but has bits of form at this level and was narrowly beaten at Tipperary recently. Point-to-point winner Hay Baby might progress from her recent handicap debut.
A good run at Tipperary two weeks ago leaves BALLYCOMMON CHAPEL (nap) well prepared to uphold previous form with Pampar Lady

10th (8) ![]() Mojo Ego |
22/1(-10%) | (8) Mojo Ego 22/1, Yard has won 3 of last 5 runnings of race; well beaten in a handicap hurdle over 2m1f at Carlisle latest; generally out of form; bit to find Unplaced all five stable starts but too well handicapped to rule out. |
A number of these look to have chances, so SHANTWOPOINTFIVE receives what can only be a tentative vote. Warren Greatrex's charge won her only previous visit here and ran right up to her best when fourth in a class 2 handicap at Cheltenham last time. Rock Hurley readily made all on his latest outing at Bangor and he merits consideration, despite a 10lb rise. Belvedere Blast and Rioja Alta also hold claims.
C&D winner SHANTWOPOINTFIVE (nap) gave a good account of herself in a competitive Cheltenham handicap last month and gets the nod.

150/1(-355%) | (1) Pacific Prince 150/1, Not the biggest but showed some ability on fair debut when beaten 8 1/2l in a novice at Chepstow back in May 2024; returning from long layoff Well held in one run for Hugo Palmer last May; best watched on comeback for new yard. |
NUTMEG's stamina appeared to ebb away when weakening into eighth over 1m at Newbury last month and he makes plenty of appeal reverting to 7f and the all-weather. George Scott's inmate had previously posted a good second on his debut at Southwell and a reproduction of that performance may see him open his account. Both Of Us, a half-brother to the highly-rated Spangled Mac, is a potential fly in the ointment on his opening bid and market support must be noted. Uniting is the pick of the remainder.
Preference is for NUTMEG, who looked stretched when upped to 1m at Newbury and sets a good standard on his debut second at Southwell.

SON OF ANARCHY is ideally suited by these race conditions and should take all the beating. A debut point-to-point winner in November 2023, he has been lightly-raced race since but has shown useful form in stronger maidens. Banana Three has some useful hurdles form but while reliable, isn't helped by conceding 8lb to the selection. Following Orders was a beaten favourite at Kilbeggan last month but might possibly have been unsuited by that tight track.
SON OF ANARCHY has been running in stronger maidens and, providing he handles this quicker ground, looks the one to beat

16/1(-78%) | (5) Achnamara 16/1, Below par fourth beaten 10l in a handicap over 1m6f at Thirsk latest; progressive over winter over hurdles; may find stamina giving way up in trip Dual hurdle winner last season (2m4f/2m3f); may still have potential over jumps. |

3/1(+40%) | (3) Golden Maverick 3/1, Fell in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Stratford latest when went too fast; trainer in form; up in trip; off a short-break; threat if stamina holds up Quirky customer who sometimes races lazily; won two runs ago but is hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) ![]() The Jeweller's Pet |
5/1(-25%) | (7) The Jeweller's Pet 5/1, Raced freely beaten 8l in a handicap hurdle over 2m4f at Perth last time where ground ground too quick; bit to find and needs rain to arrive Dual winner at Ayr in February; not quite at best on latest outing but may progress again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) ![]() Ashington |
11/1(-10%) | (4) Ashington 11/1, Suited by trip when scored by 2 1/4l off 115 over 2m5f at Doncaster in March; seventh beaten 34l off 118 last time where outstayed late; stamina concerns once more Good-ground winner in March but below that form since; recent rain here no help. |
With the trip being a potential stumbling block for the likes of Golden Maverick and Achnamara, it could pay to side with one of the potential improvers over this distance. HARPER VALLEY fits the bill after a fourth-placed finish over an extended 2m6f at Kelso three weeks ago, which could be a precursor for more to come now he has tested the waters regarding stamina. The Jeweller's Pet is another who could figure, especially if any rain falls.
This is a step up in grade for the penalised EVENWOOD SONOFAGUN but he won with quite a bit left in the tank over C&D on Monday.

A wide draw and 6f distance were enough to thwart FORCE AND VALOUR at Chester earlier this month but he makes plenty of appeal on his return to the all-weather. The Mehmas gelding looked one to follow when scoring at Newcastle as a juvenile and his subsequent efforts in Meydan were more than respectable. Handicap debutant Critical Aclaim supplemented three runner-up efforts with a breakthrough triumph at Brighton 20 days ago and he's feared most, ahead of Binhareer.
There are some interesting handicap newcomers in the line-up and BINHAREER gets the vote ahead of Blue Rc and Critical Aclaim.

(4) 16/1(-113%) | (4) So Des Flos 16/1, Below par well beaten in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Fairyhouse latest; generally out of form over fences; up in trip; likely to find ground too quick Moderate chase form last season, 35lb inferior to stablemate Ash Tree Meadow over fences. |
TAG MAN has proven form over staying distances and can improve following a recent reappearance run at Punchestown. Well suited by good ground, he has produced some useful efforts over hurdles and defeated former Cesarewitch winner Run For Oscar to win last August. Dual bumper winner Lieutenant Mayne can be hit-and-miss but is capable on his day and was a useful winner at Chepstow last month. He too likes good ground and it is notable he steps up to this distance for the first time. Former Galway Plate winner Ash Tree Meadow tries this slightly longer distance for his first time since point-to-pointing, but has been out of sorts in recent times.
A note of caution is struck by an odds-on hurdles defeat for ASH TREE MEADOW last summer but he should account for these three rivals

(1) 11/2(+0%) | (1) Gale Mahler 11/2, Race came too soon down the field in Novices' Hurdle (Listed) over 3m at Perth most recent; prefers a sharp track; more to come now chasing but stamina to prove up in trip Listed hurdle winner last summer but has very mixed record since; chase debut today. |
GREAT PEPPER posted a respectable effort when finishing third of six on his chasing debut at Carlisle on his most recent start. That was also his first appearance since undergoing wind surgery and this still low-mileage seven-year-old, who won two of his three starts in point-to-points, is an attractive proposition in this company. His stablemate Hurricane Ali is another to keep an eye on in the betting market, while Militaire could also be a player if the first-time cheekpieces draw improvement.
Ben Haslam's COQOLINO carries a 7lb penalty for his 2m1f win here on Saturday but this longer trip can prompt an even better effort.

![]() Typical Woman |

Having displayed a determined attitude to complete the double at Windsor 30 days ago, Kinetic warrants respect in her hat-trick bid. A 4lb higher mark is unlikely to forestall another bold effort from James Owen's filly, but MISS DOLLY ROCKER may prove slightly better handicapped. The five-year-old looked to find her third-placed stable bow over 1m2f at Ascot on the sharp side and tonight's extra quarter-mile trip looks ideal, with Jack Dace good value for his 7lb claim, too. Silver Nightfall and Elterwater are also noted.
Plenty have possibilities but the vote goes to James Owen's resurgent hat-trick seeker KINETIC (nap). Silver Nightfall is feared.

KYLE VALLEY's form is quite in-and-out but was a dual point-to-point winner last year and bounced back with a useful recent run at Kilbeggan. Native Song is another dual point-to-point winner and while she has been well held in recent hurdle runs, will be greatly helped by stepping up in distance. Butchers Bill has been running reasonably well at this level recently.
Not too many to get excited about but KYLE VALLEY appeals on the back of a narrow Kilbeggan defeat at this trip

Having returned to form with a good second at Ffos Las earlier this month, LERMOOS LEGEND could be ready to regain the winning thread. A 1lb ease in the ratings and being reunited with champion jockey Sean Bowen can only help the veteran and he's preferred to Shillanavogy. The Soldier Of Fortune gelding arrives in good heart, although a drop back in distance may prove on the sharp side. Market support for chasing/seasonal debutant Importateur would be interesting.
Dual C&D winner LERMOOS LEGEND returns here after a good recent effort and remains on a workable mark, so his claims look solid.

![]() Siempre Arturo |
(4) 20/1(+0%) | (4) Siempre Arturo 20/1, Down the field in a handicap over 10f at Chester most recent; up in trip, worth another go; goes well here; yet to fire this term, bit to prove but not out of it 5-10 last year, but has suffered two heavy defeats on turf since returning last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Dr Waksman |
(14) 50/1(+0%) | (14) Dr Waksman 50/1, Beaten 4l off 76 over 10f at Chelmsford last time; trip is a worry; well-weighted on pick of Irish form last year but lot to prove after poor UK Flat debut 0-8 on the Flat and over hurdles; will do well to break his duck in this company. |
This is more competitive than the four-runner contest Haku landed at Wolverhampton latest. Mark Loughnane's charge merits respect under a 5lb penalty nonetheless, but preference is for TROJAN STORM. The low-mileage four-year-old sprang somewhat of a surprise when winning at odds of 18-1 at Dunstall Park in February but a 4lb rise looks fair and he can prove that was no fluke. Turquino was too keen to do himself justice at Ascot recently but he remains of interest, as does Way Of Life, who got up on the line over 1m3f here last time.
Preference is for ARQOOB whose two goes over C&D in March resulted in a win and a nose defeat.

THEDEVILUNO has run two solid races in defeat in recent months and has form at this course. He bumped into a capable winner here in March and while beaten 11 lengths at Cork last month, that winner has tip-top potential. Strong Link also has useful form in bumpers but did receive 11lb from the comfortable winner at Naas in February. Kildinan Prince showed promise in a 3m1f maiden hurdle a fortnight ago and, with that experience behind him, can compete in this stronger race.
Thedeviluno and Strong Link hold strong claims but are opposed by recent maiden hurdle second KILDINAN PRINCE

![]() Torngat |
(7) 50/1(+0%) | (7) Torngat 50/1, Below par well beaten in a hunter chase over 2m7f at Kelso latest; up in trip; off a short-break; all to do and likely outclassed Out of form this year and faces a tough assignment here. |
Galileo Silver arrives on the back of completing a double between the flags and he warrants respect on his belated Rules return. However, LINELEE KING made a winning seasonal debut in what looked a stronger hunters' chase at Southwell in March and a similar performance may see Olly Murphy's gelding follow up. Autonomous Cloud should appreciate this greater emphasis on stamina and may fare best of the remainder.
Excused his defeat over 2m4f on good ground this month, thorough stayer AUTONOMOUS CLOUD ought to be much better suited by this test.

![]() Lusaka |
(5) 66/1(+0%) | (5) Lusaka 66/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 12f at Chester most recent off a layoff; generally out of form; not proven trip; lot to prove Beaten a very long way on his return from six months off at Chester 19 days ago. |
Gooloogong (winner) had the benefit of a recent run when defeating both CAPONE (second) and Kingdom Of Stars (fourth) over C&D recently, but it is the second-named who is fancied to come out on top this time. The veteran performer had attracted market support that day and if stepping forward for that reappearance, he may well go one place better. The booking of Oisin Murphy is noteworthy, too.
Preference is for ORCHESTRA who proved game when making all over C&D 19 days ago.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
