Having briefly looked outpaced, RISING POWER displayed a willing attitude to make a winning debut in a class 2 novice at Newmarket last month. Charlie Appleby's colt scored a shade cosily and looks more than capable of defying a 6lb penalty in these calmer waters. Killavia should have learned plenty from her opening fourth at Haydock 21 days ago and may serve the most resistance to the selection, although newcomers Alasrae and Enricher are worth market checks.

Godolphin colt RISING POWER looked useful when winning on last month's Newmarket debut and can collect this prize too.

All Ways Glamorous regained the winning thread at Windsor 18 days ago and warrants respect given his upward trajectory. However, a 5lb higher mark and rise in class could leave Christopher Mason's charge vulnerable, which could leave the door open for BANG ON THE BELL. The six-year-old posted a respectable third in a 14-runner sprint at Lingfield last month and a 2lb nudge up in the ratings looks workable. Diamond Dreamer and Jacquelina are others of interest.

No shortage of pace on show here and it could set up nicely for JENEVER (nap) to repeat last season's win in the race.

Outrun The Storm won this last season and races off 8lb lower with Eireann Cagney reunited in the saddle this year. He might get involved, but PROFIT REFUSED could be the one. He didn't see it out when third over further last month but the booking of Patrick Mullins catches the eye and he may get back to winning ways. Ultramarine is 2lb lower than his new mark even with a penalty and commands plenty of respect.

The vote goes to WAISTCOAT who is thriving under the tutelage of Dylan Cunha and can make light of a 5lb penalty for his Nottingham win.

Tolstoy not only won this race but followed up over course-and-distance on the Saturday of this corresponding fixture 12 months ago. He is highly respected in bidding for back-to-back wins. However, QUEST FOR FUN, who is also a previous C&D winner, shades preference as he runs off 10lb lower than his last winning mark. Yaaser, Mereside Diva and Little Empire are other key players in a competitive edition of this apprentice riders' showpiece.

Not disgraced in a high competitive Ascot race last time, course specialist TOLSTOY might follow up last year's win in this event.

You Sexy Thing shaped better than the beaten distance when finishing fourth on his debut over 6f at Newmarket last month and that experience should have taught him plenty. However, the son of Dark Angel isn't certain to stay today's extra furlong and it could be worth chancing newcomer SABA DESERT. Charlie Appleby's colt is a three parts-brother to smart middle-distance performer Spinning Wheel and he shouldn't be found lacking for stamina or class. Boiling Over can also figure.

The eyes are drawn to Godolphin's Dubawi colt SABA DESERT, whose stable's top-class Native Trail made a successful start in this maiden.

DREAM OUT LOUD pulled too hard when fourth at Windsor last month, but his win at Kempton has been franked by the runner-up winning since and a potentially stronger pace is likely to aid his cause. Hundred Caps showed much improved form to win at Beverley and may have more to come in first-time cheekpieces, while Arabian Cobra completes the shortlist carrying a 6lb penalty for local trainer Hugo Palmer.

Plenty to consider in a competitive handicap, headed by the unexposed HUNDRED CAPS, who remains open to improvement in headgear.

Ollie Pears has a good record in this event and his representative, Carnation Queen (fifth), commands respect with his stable bidding to win this for the third year running. However, U TURN fared the better of the pair when they clashed at Beverley last month and built on that third-placed finish when chasing home an odds-on favourite at Musselburgh last week. Another step forward could suffice today. Redcar winner Willowinghurn and Dinamo are also appealing options.

The progressive U TURN is taken to reverse Beverley placings with Dinamo on these better terms.

CHATURANGA didn't help his cause by hanging left when third in this grade at Redcar. Today's switch to blinkers could rectify that problem and Archie Watson's charge could be thereabouts at the finish competing off an unchanged mark. Promethean wasn't at his best when starting favourite at Windsor, but this slower ground will suit, and he cannot be ruled out with any confidence, while Yarmouth winner Charming Whisper could also make his presence felt.

Rain would help DUE TO HENRY but it's too soon to believe he's entirely dependent upon soft ground. He may get an easy lead.

Davvy kept on well over six furlongs to win his maiden at Redcar and should not be inconvenienced by the extra furlong, but he may have to give way to JACK THE TOOTH here. Sent off favourite on his second start at Leicester, he won easily enough despite being hampered at the start and a clear run might see him follow up. Ubetterseethis is another to consider after an unlucky run in a much better race at Pontefract.

The pick is RECEPTION, who made a promising debut in a good Windsor novice 11 days ago. Jack The Tooth is next best.

We probably haven't yet seen the best of ROGUE SENSATION and, having returned from a break with a fourth-placed finish in the Cecil Frail at Haydock last month, the daughter of Too Darn Hot appeals strongly as she drops in class for her first start in a handicap. Raneenn is another strong contender after her successful run at Doncaster, while Pelean, Lady Of Andros and Tropical Island all hold good each-way prospects.

Raneenn still looks well handicapped but EASY PEELER is taken to build on the significant promise of her reappearance.

MISS JUSTICE lost a shoe when failing to land the odds in maiden company at Wolverhampton. However, this longer distance could see the daughter of Justify in a better light, and she gets another chance with William Buick taking over the reins for her handicap debut. Kind Of Kiss is no forlorn hope based on last month's fourth at Newbury, while Approval has yet to get his act together so far this season, but is on a workable mark if bouncing back.

Brioni and Approval are dangerous on their 2024 form but MISS JUSTICE can make a winning handicap debut now up in trip.

A determined winner over further at Redcar last month, Bleep Test is a key player despite a 6lb penalty, while the well-bred Stargazed looks to be the pick of the newcomers for leading connections.

Karl Burke is again blessed with a strong team of juveniles and STARGAZED holds obvious appeal on paper.

The draw has been kind to LAST SHAMARDAL, who was able to leave a below-par Beverley run behind him to finish a creditable sixth in a typically warm class 4 event at York latest. He will need more to come out on top, but an ease in class will do his chances no harm, nor will a 1lb drop in the handicap. Kosometsuke went agonisingly close at Salisbury last time out when attempting to follow up on his earlier Kempton triumph. Roger Varian's charge remains of considerable interest, while Golden Thorn is another to consider.

Kosometsuke was helped by the draw at Salisbury and PANAMA BLACK may be able to turn the tables on this steep finish.

Aidan O'Brien's BEAUTIFY can improve from her debut third at the Curragh where she lost her place at the halfway stage and kept on nicely in the closing stages. She is a half-sister to a Listed winner and holds a Group 2 entry in the Curragh at the end of June. Night Of Thunder filly Skydance holds the same Group 2 engagement, so she should be monitored for market strength ahead of her debut. There was promise in Havana Anna's third on racecourse bow at Navan, while Moyglare filly Suzie Songs could show up well on her first outing for Ger Lyons. O'Brien's Closely was easy to back in sixth at Listowel, but shouldn't be ruled out.

With improvement likely from her promising Curragh debut over this trip, BEAUTIFY will take plenty of beating.

Hamilton scorer Hi Ya Mal gets the services of a red-hot Oisin Murphy today and merits the utmost respect from 4lb higher while Synergism, who is 3lb well-in having been narrowly denied at Lingfield latest, is also noted.

He got off the mark in a Gowran Park maiden in May and the form was endorsed when the runner-up came out and took a good handicap in the Curragh. Storm Piece had some notable placed form as a juvenile and appeals as a horse with plenty of upside. Curragh runner-up Pinar Del Rio has a shot of overturning form with the winner, Goal Exceeded, on these terms. Fort Vega finished well for second in Leopardstown and ought to be in the hunt off the same mark. Kings Time has the form to be a factor, but the forecast rain isn't in his favour.

Midnight Horizon benefitted from a drop down to this trip when successful on her handicap debut at the Curragh last week and is an obvious threat despite a hefty 14lb hike for that victory. Tom Midgley partnered SPOT ON SOPH to success in the corresponding event 12 months ago and the pair are fancied to repeat the dose, for a team that have been amongst the winners lately. She was dropped 2lb in the handicap having finished third on her reappearance at Cartmel, and is now back on her last winning mark. Lord Warburton won here in September and he could go well despite being 1lb out of the handicap, while Lone Star can't be overlooked following wind surgery.

Champion jockey Colin Keane has been booked for DESERT POWER's seasonal reappearance and his placed form entitles him to plenty of respect. He made the frame in all three starts during the last campaign and his runner-up spot in Navan last summer reads well after the winner followed up in a handicap off a mark of 87. Kilmood Susan is likely to race prominently and has plenty of form in the book to advertise her chance. She gets first-time blinkers. Asdana was a solid third in a Navan handicap last weekend which brings her into contention, while Glory To Be was fourth on debut at the Curragh and will be eyeing prize money. This Ain't Texas is a potential improver.

Telecommunication won nicely at Yarmouth, despite having to be switched for a clear run. Saying that, he's burdened with a 6lb rise and PERSHALLA is preferred. Amanda Perrett's filly ran well for a long way when third at Lingfield on her reappearance and handicap debut, and that form looks stronger in hindsight given the winner has won twice subsequently. Displaying and Silver Chamber are both worth a second glance.

A 6lb rise may not stop TELECOMMUNICATION (nap), who got it together when forging clear with two subsequent winners at Yarmouth.

Now two from two over timber having bolted up at Cartmel last month, it is difficult to see past BELLE LE GRAND. Dan Skelton's mare has the scope for plenty more improvement and despite having to shoulder a double penalty, she is the one to beat. Runner-up in both of her bumpers at Huntingdon, Amber Waves could be a threat with Harry Cobden aboard, while Ask Peter might fare better on his second start following a wind operation.

It's hard to get away from BELLE LE GRAND, who launched her hurdling career with two convincing wins last month.

LAUGH A MINUTE has been a tremendous servant to Shamrock Thoroughbreds and gained a ninth career win over this trip at the Curragh in March. The forecast rain would help the veteran who again went close at Naas last time. Connections have found the key to I Bid You Ajou is running around a bend and the son of Shalaa is bidding to win over this C&D for the third week in a row. The Mark Fahey-trained gelding has been raised a total of 16lb for those two recent wins, while Gordon Bennett has tumbled down the ratings and finished strongly over a similar trip at the Curragh last time but is probably best suited by straight tracks.

He didn't feature on his first start of the season at Naas last month, but ought to come on for the run. He does hold a Group 1 option for Royal Ascot next week. Powerful Nation is race fit from a second place behind a very smart sort in Listed class at Naas and will have plenty of supporters. Navassa Island flashed home for third after a tardy start in the Curragh, while Gutsy Girl was just a place behind Powerful Nation in Naas. Danny Murphy fires three darts at this race and Erosandpsyche is an interesting recruit for his stable.

Conditions will be in his favour, too, and he's fancied to repel the challenge of Shanagh Bob, who landed a match-race at Ludlow on his final start for Nicky Henderson. The consistent Art Of Diplomacy should be thereabouts once again, but this might be on the sharp side for Hung Jury, who won a hunters' chase over an extended 4m at Cheltenham latest.

Bold Optimist was sixth in that aforementioned race and, on the balance of his form, is a contender. Brigadier Kakuru, in first-time blinkers, and Mint Man are returning off breaks after racing on the Polytrack in Dundalk, but are certainly not without hope. There's a lot of pace in this contest and a closer like Nouvel Espoir could come home stronger than most.

The biggest threat may emerge from Forteleza, who arrives on the back of a runner-up effort at Wolverhampton, while handicap debutant Suzuka requires close consideration too.

If the seven-year-old remains in similar form, she will prove tough to beat. The hat-trick seeking Hammer Dan makes his return from nearly a year off the track and warrants a market check, while Miss Popalong is another to keep an eye on.

A winning over fences here last summer, GREAT D'ANGE may be able to exploit his lower hurdle mark.

BRAVAIS won twice over 7f in France and appreciated a return to a similar trip when getting the better of the front-running Hurricane Ivor inside the final furlong at Tipperary last month. There shouldn't be much between the pair again with rain an obvious plus for the mud-loving Hurricane Ivor. Murkala won over this trip at the Curragh last month and receives plenty of weight including her rider's 7lb claim, while Admiral Churchill has progressed well this season and is on a hat-trick after scoring in good style at Listowel. Follow Me won twice at the Curragh last spring and may have benefitted from a winter break.

French-import BUBBLE GUM created a good impression when landing the Listed Noblesse Stakes at this track on her first start since switching to Paddy Twomey. The third home franked the form with victories in a Listed contest at Gowran Park and in His Majesty's Plate at Down Royal. The drop of rain that is forecast for Cork will be welcomed by Enfranchise, who is putting together a very solid portfolio of work this season with runner-up berths in Listed races at Naas and Navan, and in a Group 2 in Germany. Elizabeth Jane holds a mark of 105 and was last seen winning in Listed company at Leopardstown in October. There are prizes to be won with her during this campaign.

Having got off the mark at the eighth attempt, Leicester scorer Be An Angel warrants respect on her handicap bow. The daughter of Twilight Son should prove competitive racing off an official rating of 71, but WALNUT looks more progressive. The three-year-old gelding made all on just his second outing at Chelmsford in April and rates as one to follow. Priapos and Tiva can make their presence felt too.

Speedy Walnut should be suited by the quick test but WHEELS OF FIRE has proved himself on this track and is worth another go at 5f.

Magic Seven made a pleasing start over fences when second at Huntingdon and he has to be respected off a 1lb lower rating. El Muchacho is the pick of the remainder.

Still on a good mark and with Harry Cobden an excellent booking, EL MUCHACHO (nap) can come good for Olly Murphy at the third attempt.

However, Marhaba Prince, who made a winning debut in a similar race at Wincanton last December, was highly tried in a Listed event at Cheltenham when last seen and may find this level is much more attainable. Spent A Fortune boasts a stout jumps pedigree and is an appealing newcomer to consider.
