![]() Create |
(8) 6/1(+0%) | (8) Create 6/1, Keeping on when a beaten favourite over 7f at Doncaster last time; step up in trip is feasible given the mare won over 8f on debut; in the mix if replicating last season's form Has run well the last twice and should do so again but needs to confirm a mile still suits. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Kessaar Power |
(7) 8/1(+0%) | (7) Kessaar Power 8/1, Ran to form beaten 2l over 7f at Chelmsford last week; step up in trip not an issue as won over 8f off this mark on the AW; eyecatching jockey booking; in the mix Not beaten far last time (7f, AW) and he goes off the same mark; turf and trip fine. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Edvard Grieg |
(6) 9/1(+0%) | (6) Edvard Grieg 9/1, Well held dropped back to 6f at Leicester last time; consistent without winning over 7f/8f before that; first-time tongue-tie on here back over a more suitable trip but needs to find more Sprinting backfired latest; respectable efforts around this trip previously; thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Al Shabab |
(2) 10/1(+0%) | (2) Al Shabab 10/1, Probably needed the race beaten 6 1/4l over 7f at Wolverhampton last time; consistent before that without winning; cheekpieces back on a positive, but step up in trip raises stamina question marks 19-race maiden who's been expensive to follow on AW; not the percentage call back up to 1m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() United Force |
(3) 10/1(+0%) | (3) United Force 10/1, Didn't get a clear run when 6 1/4l third in a handicap at Southwell off a break; C&D winner and second on only two runs over 8f at the track; races off last winning mark; contender 1lb lower than when winning over C&D last July; solid latest; might be the answer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Crowd Quake |
(1) 10/11(+0%) | (1) Crowd Quake 10/11, Odds-on last twice, scoring by 4 1/2l off 51 over 10f at Windsor on penultimate start and second beaten 1/2l off 56 last time; step back to 8f a slight surprise and caries a 5lb penalty but hard to fault this progressive 4yo in this grade Won two of his last three; sharp drop in trip not ideal but at least he's in form; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Specialist View |
(4) 14/1(+0%) | (4) Specialist View 14/1, Probably needed the race when well held off a lengthy absence and wind op at Southwell last time; behind United Force over C&D last summer; needs to find more back on turf Sole win came on AW; might have needed latest run and she's not totally ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pending Appeal |
(5) 16/1(+0%) | (5) Pending Appeal 16/1, Better effort in second beaten 1 1/4l in an 8.6f classified race at Wolverhampton last time; down in trip off a short break and a career-low mark here, but inconsistent and last win in 2022 Latest second in a classified (AW) was better; needs to build on that now back on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fast Flo |
(10) 50/1(+0%) | (10) Fast Flo 50/1, Below par beaten 8 1/4l over 6f at Redcar last time out; doesn't appear to be crying out for this step back up up in trip here; needs to improve 38-race maiden who has finished down the field the last twice; passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Primrose Maid |
(12) 66/1(+0%) | (12) Primrose Maid 66/1, Possibly needed the race when well beaten over 7f here on return, but was generally out of form before that; sole win over 7f at the track in 2023 but difficult to fancy on subsequent form Tailed off last time and can only be watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Heer's Sadie |
(9) 20/1(+20%) | (9) Heer's Sadie 20/1, Down the field over this trip at Brighton last time; generally out of form, all four wins over shorter with three of those at Brighton; plenty to find Backward step last time at a track she generally goes well at; that raises a question. |
Having won two of his last three starts and seemingly thriving on being kept busy, CROWD QUAKE is very hard to oppose. The Stuart Williams-trained four-year-old was narrowly denied in a slightly deeper race at Leicester on Monday and is presented with a good opportunity to bounce straight back, with Rossa Ryan taking over in the saddle. He does still have to shoulder a 5lb penalty, which creates some hope for supporters of Create and United Force, who are the pick of the remainder.
Most of these have some sort of question to answer and UNITED FORCE, a C&D winner, looks the most solid.

![]() Solana Rose |
(6) Evens(+0%) | (6) Solana Rose Evens, Big filly, finished quite well after waiting for a run when beaten 3 1/2l in Marygate Fillies' Stakes (Listed) over 5f at York on debut; up in trip; can progress markedly and be hard to beat Shaped with considerable promise in a York Listed race on debut; sets a good standard. |

![]() Alex Supreme |
(1) 3/1(+0%) | (1) Alex Supreme 3/1, 26 Feb; 20,000 euros Supremacy filly; half-sister to Future King, useful at 7f; dam very useful at 7f at 2yo; top trainer who does well with 2yo debutants 20,000euros half-sister to three winners; yard rich in 2yo talent; a newcomer of note. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Peggy Boo |
(4) 10/1(+0%) | (4) Peggy Boo 10/1, Showed a good attitude on fair debut when beaten 5 1/4l in a novice over 5f at Redcar; up in trip and off a short-break, but should do better Debut effort not without hope but significant progress is a must. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Baggot Street |
(2) 12/1(+0%) | (2) Baggot Street 12/1, Needed the experience when 7l fourth in a maiden over 5f here first-time out; up in trip; should improve and get closer this time Too green to do herself justice here (5f, good) on debut; bred to do much better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Star Of Life |
(7) 13/2(+0%) | (7) Star Of Life 13/2, 22 Feb; Starspangledbanner filly; first foal; dam moderate at 8f and a sister to a couple of winners; market will be best guide to chances First foal of a maiden from a good family; yard have had a winning 2yo debutante this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Belling The Cat |
(3) 20/1(+0%) | (3) Belling The Cat 20/1, 13 Apr; Rajasinghe filly; full-sister to Hougoumont, very useful at 7f; dam smart at 5f at 2yo; likely to need the experience Sister to 6f 2yo winner Hougomont (RPR 78); useful standard to aim at; yard run two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Preminision |
(5) 20/1(+0%) | (5) Preminision 20/1, 15 May; Territories filly; half-sister to Thankuappreciate, useful at 6f; dam very useful at 8f at 2yo; top course jockey/trainer combination; watch market for view on stable confidence Half-sister to 2 winners; stable's 2yos more forward this year than usual; check betting. |
Peggy Boo showed ability to finish fifth on her debut at Redcar last month and she may put that experience to good use against a host of newcomers. However, a chance can be taken on ALEX SUPREME, who changed hands for 20,000 euros and is a half-sister to a useful 7f winner. Karl Burke's filly has speed in her pedigree and can make an instant impression. Any market confidence behind Star Of Life would be interesting.
There are some interesting newcomers on show but SOLANA ROSE shaped well in a Listed race on debut and sets a good standard.

(1) 10/1(+0%) | (1) Tango Sunset 10/1, Ideally suited by trip beaten 3 1/4l off 63 over 2m1f at Wolverhampton last time; conditions suit, two best efforts on Polytrack; in the mix if wound up for return Best effort came over this trip in November when last seen; respected on her return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Balgowan |
(5) 11/2(+0%) | (5) Balgowan 11/2, Opened account when landing a handicap by a length off 53 at Southwell last time on 17th run; conditions suit well; off a short-break; likely play a big role Got off the mark at Southwell last time following a string of good efforts; claims up 2lb.. |

(7) 25/1(+0%) | (7) Kevano Breeze 25/1, Looked to want further well beaten in a maiden over 8f at Kempton latest; not proven trip (best effort so far came over 1m3f); handles Polytrack; off a short-break; bit to prove Well beaten in three novice/maiden events (1m3f/1m); up in trip for his handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Blonde Arrow |
(9) 33/1(+0%) | (9) Blonde Arrow 33/1, Appeared not to stay well beaten in a handicap at Southwell latest upped to 2m on handicap debut; trip a concern with stamina to prove; may need the run and needs big step forward Offered little in four starts; others preferred on her first start since November.. |
QUEENSLAND BOY bolted up at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and is very hard to oppose as he does not have to carry a penalty for that success in an apprentice race, meaning he is 8lb well-in. Smith hit the crossbar over C&D a month ago and could fill second place once again here, although Balgowan and Sydney Seabreeze are others who are capable of going well.
Balgowan finally got off the mark last time but QUEENSLAND BOY (nap) escapes a penalty for his Wolverhampton win and can follow up.

![]() Man Of Vision |
(3) 5/6(+0%) | (3) Man Of Vision 5/6, Yard has won 3 of the last 5 runnings of the race; Dubawi colt, 3 Apr; dam was high class at 9f and a Listed 2yo winner; represents powerful connections who boast a 57% strike-rate with their juveniles this season Dubawi colt with a fine pedigree; looks another likely newcomer for his powerful yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() On The Inlet |
(4) 9/2(+0%) | (4) On The Inlet 9/2, 160,000gns New Bay colt, 10 May; full-brother to Jumby, high-class at 7f; dam very smart at 5f at 2yo; yard have sent out two winning juvenile debutants this year; worth a market check 160,000gns yearling related to winning juveniles; market can guide on this debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rodeo |
(5) 11/2(+0%) | (5) Rodeo 11/2, St Mark's Basilica colt, 19 Apr; half-brother to American Arrow, smart at 7f; dam a Grade 2 winner over 9f and placed in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks; ticks plenty of boxes for top trainer Newcomer; US turf family; excellent yard enjoys plenty of 2yo success here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Velocity Vow |
(6) 11/2(+0%) | (6) Velocity Vow 11/2, Yard won this in 2023; 140,000gns Camelot colt, 4 Feb; dam useful at 12f; another expensive purchase meriting a market check for a yard that can have them hard-boiled for debut 140,000gns Camelot yearling; might be one for further next year but yard can ready one. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Brave Hunter |
(1) 28/1(+0%) | (1) Brave Hunter 28/1, Universal colt, 23 Feb; full-brother to Minhad, very useful at 12f; dam useful at 7f as a 2yo; yard in good form; an early foal, has possibilities on paper over this 7f trip; market should be informative Universal colt who's a brother to a 1m4f winner; likely one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Commander's Intent |
(2) 10/1(0%) | (2) Commander's Intent 10/1, Although well held when beaten 6 3/4l in a 6f Newbury maiden on debut, this colt was very green but kept on late; should improve up in trip for that experience, but looks vulnerable to a newcomer Not disgraced on debut when 11th of 18 at Newbury (6f, good) 13 days ago; should improve. |
On paper, MAN OF VISION is the most intriguing newcomer. Being by Dubawi and out of the high-class Summer Romance - a Group 2 winner for Charlie Appleby - there is an awful lot to like about this Godolphin home-bred colt. On The Inlet, who cost 160,000gns and is a full-brother to Hungerford Stakes winner Jumby, also captures the imagination. Rodeo and Velocity Vow are other well-bred types notable for future reference.
It's hard to ignore the run Charlie Appleby is having with his juveniles and MAN OF VISION is selected to make a winning debut.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Mission In Malton |
(10) 7/1(+0%) | (10) Mission In Malton 7/1, Below par beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap at Carlisle last time; much better previous start beaten about 5l off 45 at Redcar; blinkers first time; chance in weak race Second at Redcar in first-time cheekpieces; only eighth since but blinkers may spark him. |

![]() Eye On The Prize |
(3) 9/1(+0%) | (3) Eye On The Prize 9/1, Slowly away 9l third in a handicap over 7f at Catterick most recent run and no really worthwhile form; top course trainer the only positive Well-held third over 7f at Catterick last weekend and others more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Heartened |
(8) 11/1(+0%) | (8) Heartened 11/1, Consistent if down the field in numerous handicaps at 2yo and this season; may well run race again, but mark is still too stiff on all available evidence Big prices and yet to make a significant impact in her four handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Amber Honey |
(2) 11/8(+0%) | (2) Amber Honey 11/8, Looked to improve markedly second time in blinkers when winning a handicap by 4l off 49 over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; significant jockey booking and good chance will follow-up Comfortable win at Wolverhampton last week and the one to beat under penalty. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Precious Spartan |
(5) 12/1(+0%) | (5) Precious Spartan 12/1, Stayed on as if 10f was trip when ran quite well at Redcar on penultimate start; too keen last time and below that form; drop back to a mile understandable, but may mean will get outpaced 0-11 for Nigel Tinker; has changed yard since well held at Doncaster 26 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Morning Angel |
(4) 14/1(+0%) | (4) Morning Angel 14/1, Showed some promise first start as a 2yo when green and immature physically, but disappointing since; plenty to prove Only minor promise so far but low-grade handicaps provide her with a more realistic chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lambournghini |
(6) 16/1(+0%) | (6) Lambournghini 16/1, Minor promise on debut, but very well beaten both starts since; very hard to make a case for Well held all three runs but worth a betting check now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Elizabeth's Legacy |
(1) 15/2(+53%) | (1) Elizabeth's Legacy 15/2, Probably needed race beaten 9l in a handicap over 10f at Beverley on seasonal debut, but was well beaten in a nursery on handicap debut final start of 2024; needs to prove maiden form reflects ability Well held both handicaps and others are more obvious. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Aoife's Thunder |
(9) 18/1(-13%) | (9) Aoife's Thunder 18/1, Down the field in a maiden over 6f at Wolverhampton most recent start and little worthwhile form prior to that; step-up in trip has looked needed Well held all three runs for another yard but handicaps provide more realistic chance. |
AMBER HONEY produced a career-best effort to score in comfortable fashion at Wolverhampton last week and now has a 6lb penalty to carry. Ed Dunlop's filly will need to prove as effective on turf but, if she does, she will prove tough to beat. Heartened was too free when fifth at 50/1 at Wetherby on her most recent start and has to be respected, especially following a 2lb ease in the weights. Eye On The Prize is the pick of the remainder.
The outside stall isn't ideal but it's still tough to ignore the claims of AMBER HONEY on the back of a comfortable AW win last week.

![]() Prometeo |
(3) 4/9(+0%) | (3) Prometeo 4/9, Probably needed race well beaten in a handicap at Newbury latest off a layoff; landed hat-trick prior; conditions suit; needs to build on reappearance but serious threat Below form this month but last year's form (four wins) gives him strong claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rogue Soldier |
(6) 9/1(+0%) | (6) Rogue Soldier 9/1, Slowly away down the field in a handicap over 7f at Wolverhampton most recent; trip ok; shown nothing in two runs this term but chance on bulk of last year's form 1m handicap winner here last summer but both runs for new yard this spring were poor. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Invincible Navy |
(5) 40/1(+0%) | (5) Invincible Navy 40/1, Slowly away down the field in a handicap over 7f at Brighton most recent; generally out of form; best on turf; up significantly in trip a concern; lots to prove Safely held off lowly marks in three Brighton handicaps this spring; up in trip today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Galileo's Compass |
(4) 28/1(-40%) | (4) Galileo's Compass 28/1, Well beaten in a handicap over 12f at Brighton latest and well below par both runs this term; down in trip, may help; both Polytrack runs poor; lost way, lots to prove Ten-race maiden who has struggled in two 1m4f Brighton handicaps for new stable this year. |
PROMETEO was well beaten on his seasonal return at Newbury, but he was progressive last season and ought to step forward with that run under his belt. Warren Fentiman eases the burden with his handy 5lb claim and, dropped into claiming company, Marco Botti's charge should prove difficult to beat. Rogue Soldier is rated 13lb inferior but looks to be the main threat. Market support for Encourager, who returns from a 591-day absence, would be noteworthy.
With Encourager very tricky to weigh up after his long absence, this looks best left to useful handicapper PROMETEO.

(1) 11/10(+0%) | (1) Showering 11/10, A winner on debut, improved under a penalty when second in a novice when last seen; the winner of that scored next time on return and then took his chance in the Craven (Gr3); top course trainer; major contender Won on debut and good second next time; jointly sets the standard; turf debut/reappearance. |

![]() Atmosphere |
(2) 12/1(+0%) | (2) Atmosphere 12/1, Improved from debut at Kempton last time when a keeping-on fifth after denied a clear run; first-time hood here; entitled to come on again but plenty to find with the two principals Similar form at big prices in a maiden and novice (6f, AW); watching brief on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cocooned |
(5) 20/1(+0%) | (5) Cocooned 20/1, Beaten 6 1/2l in a 7f maiden at Kempton on debut; step back in trip doesn't make immediate appeal as her full-sister was placed over 10f; needs to improve Some promise on recent debut (7f, AW); can chase the big two home on this turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sprinter |
(4) 50/1(+0%) | (4) Sprinter 50/1, Yet to show any real signs of ability, the latest when 12/12 behind stablemate Atmosphere at Kempton; all to do on turf debut Beaten over 20l in a maiden and novice (6f, AW; big prices); can only watch on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Neyva's Angel |
(6) 40/1(-21%) | (6) Neyva's Angel 40/1, Harry Angel filly; dam useful at 6f as a 2yo, more speedily bred than her two winning half-siblings; would need to be smart to score here on debut Harry Angel filly from a yard with a modest record in this type of race; best watched. |
SHOWERING and Miss Cartesian both made winning debuts as juveniles and are the pair to focus on. The latter is bred to win further races over this trip and rates a serious player. Nevertheless, Showering's form holds more substance at this stage and given he was second only to a subsequent winner who went on to contest the Craven, there are solid foundations to build on. Atmosphere and Cocooned can fight it out for third place.
Showering and MISS CARTESIAN should have this between them and a narrow vote goes to the latter, who might have a shade more upside.

![]() Barmyblade |
(3) 5/2(+0%) | (3) Barmyblade 5/2, Improved up 7lb to score a touch cosily in a handicap by a length off 59 here last time; top course jockey/trainer combination; likes the track and the one to beat despite penalty 3-4 this year, the last two over C&D this month; may not have reached his ceiling yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() On Key |
(1) 6/1(+0%) | (1) On Key 6/1, Well backed beaten a length off 68 at Newcastle in a nursery back in December; may need this off a break and will need to improve a bit, but not without a chance Best 2yo efforts on AW; gelded since last seen; improvement needed but quite possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tarlac |
(4) 7/2(+0%) | (4) Tarlac 7/2, Well backed and ran to form when beaten 3/4l off 63 at Hamilton last time; in good form, mark is fair and a contender 0-8 but he's been threatening and latest Hamilton 2nd a career best; shouldn't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Vault Of Heaven |
(7) 8/1(+0%) | (7) Vault Of Heaven 8/1, Probably needed race beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Haydock on reappearance and better judged on narrow defeat in a nursery off 59 final start of 2024; not out of it on that form Just failed to land gamble on AW in November; reappearance 5th working out well; unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rumba Bay |
(5) 10/3(+0%) | (5) Rumba Bay 10/3, Given plenty to do under a confident ride when landing a handicap by 3/4l off 58 at Salisbury last time; on an upward trajectory, possibly a little to come and should go well Three wins this year, the latest her turf breakthrough two weeks ago; high on the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Amor Cordis |
(2) 11/1(+0%) | (2) Amor Cordis 11/1, Ran quite well fitted with cheekpieces penultimate start, but that effect seemed to have worn off a bit last time when below somewhat below that form; head gear removed here and needs to bounce back Two solid handicap runs this year and he's one to take seriously on stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Triple Charged |
(6) 33/1(+0%) | (6) Triple Charged 33/1, Below par last two starts and does look generally regressive; mark has dropped and well treated if recapturing form, but that looks unlikely Yet to find his best form for current stable; cheekpieces now tried; due to drop 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() For What Its Worth |
(8) 33/1(+0%) | (8) For What Its Worth 33/1, Three poor efforts in maidens and a novice; impossible to recommend Potential improver now handicapping over a shorter trip; worth a market check. |
ON KEY attempted to make all of the running when only beaten a length into second at Newcastle and has been gelded since. Julie Camacho's charge has Tom Kiely-Marshall claiming a handy 5lb on his return and could take a step forward on only his third handicap outing. Barmyblade is going for a C&D hat-trick and holds an obvious chance. Recent Salisbury scorer Rumba Bay is another to note.
Barmyblade is solid but Amor Cordis and VAULT OF HEAVEN represent a strong piece of Haydock form and can fight this out.

![]() Izakaya |

![]() Maritime Mist |
(2) 100/1(+0%) | (2) Maritime Mist 100/1, Well beaten in a mares' bumper over 2m at Uttoxeter only start; returning from layoff; all to do Tailed off in a bumper last summer; makes Flat/stable debut here. |
MISS HERSCHEL displayed plenty of promise when third on her debut over a mile here in December and Andrew Balding's filly merits the utmost respect with the benefit of that experience behind her. Cloaks Of Gold has a similar profile to the selection and should not be underestimated. Silver Chamber and Knickerbocker are others with valid form claims, while any market support for Glint Of Light should be noted.
Top of the list is MISS HERSCHEL, who kept on well for third in what has turned out to be a good 1m novice here in December.

![]() Show Biz Kid |
(5) 6/1(+0%) | (5) Show Biz Kid 6/1, Suited by the step up in trip when scoring by a neck over C&D off 70 on penultimate start; still relatively lightly raced, is a contender back here off a 3lb higher mark and likely stronger pace Might not want the ground to ease too much but solid chance otherwise. |

![]() Dark Lyric |
(10) 14/1(+0%) | (10) Dark Lyric 14/1, Probably needed race when beaten 10l over 7f at Lingfield last time; generally out of form; step up in trip a question mark as three full-siblings won over 6f/7f Quiet reappearance after a solid last season; stamina to prove as unraced beyond 8.6f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Charming Whisper |
(6) 17/2(+0%) | (6) Charming Whisper 17/2, Below form when down the field over 8f at Newmarket last time; usually consistent; goes well here; up in trip but gets it; top jockey back on board; will suit this class drop after racing in 21k/18k contests last twice Modest last run but too well handicapped to ignore and worth another go over this far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Woodstock City |
(4) 20/1(+0%) | (4) Woodstock City 20/1, Fourth when beaten 9l in an apprentice handicap over 12f at Chester last time; steps down in trip and grade, a chance if recapturing last season's form but that is the if about him Probably in fair form as ran well for a long way at Chester until stretched by 1m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lechuga Lad |
(13) 20/1(+0%) | (13) Lechuga Lad 20/1, Appeared not to stay when comfortably held over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last time; back down in trip for just second turf start; shown glimpses of winning ability but others preferred Surely failed to stay the 1m6f last time but can race keenly and comes with risks. |

![]() Obsidian Knight |
(8) 25/1(+0%) | (8) Obsidian Knight 25/1, Well below form when beaten 28l off 75 last time out at Chester upped in trip; back over ideal trip but all seven wins have come on the AW, six of which have come at Lingfield Made it 0-12 on turf when a long way behind at Chester, finishing adrift of Woodstock City. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Solar Saving |
(11) 25/1(+0%) | (11) Solar Saving 25/1, Raced freely when beaten 7l in a 7f maiden at The Curragh when last seen; makes handicap debut off a long absence on first start for new yard; bit to find but a possible improver over this trip Good debut in Ireland but failed to progress; sold on for 4,000gns; had three races. |
SIR EDWARD LEAR displayed plenty of promise when a close second on his handicap debut at Windsor a couple of weeks ago and James Owen's unexposed gelding tops the shortlist, despite a 1lb rise in the ratings. The recent Beverley winner Coolree has to be of interest on the back of that success, while Solanna and Show Biz Kid are others with valid form claims.
The lightly raced SATURN FIVE stayed on to good effect at Chester and promises to be well suited by this more galloping track.

(11) 22/1(+0%) | (11) Ey Up Its The Boss 22/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 12f at York most recent; down in trip a plus; yet to fire this term in three runs, chance on 2024 autumn form Good Ripon record and 1m4f likely stretched him at York latest; has to enter calculations. |

![]() Arthur's Realm |
(5) 7/1(-17%) | (5) Arthur's Realm 7/1, Ran to form beaten 2 1/4l off 87 over 8f at Doncaster last time; significant jockey booking; possibly best at 1m but stays 1m2f; generally consistent, bang in the mix Fair fifth in Spring Mile latest and won Zetland Gold Cup off 1lb higher last May; player. |
Having readily won over C&D on his penultimate start, HAVE SECRET is an attractive proposition, although a 9lb higher rating obviously demands more of the five-year-old. However, he was a close third in a deeper race at York most recently and could easily be up to the task. The less-exposed Let's Dream is feared most after his surprise Chester success. Padishakh and Arthur's Realm are other solid options.
Several with claims but HAVE SECRET gets the nod after following his ready C&D win in April with a third at the York Dante meeting.

Headmaster is a fascinating newcomer for powerful connections being a son of three-time Prix de la Foret heroine One Master and any market confidence should be noted. However, POLYGRAM looks to be improving all the time and her recent second at Newcastle suggested she is likely to get off the mark sooner rather than later. Elarak has the potential to step forward from his debut at Newmarket in October.
This can go to POLYGRAM who pulled clear with another promising filly at Newcastle last time and can get off the mark.

![]() Marnier |
(3) 6/4(+0%) | (3) Marnier 6/4, Yard won this last year; excuses on second start when slowly away and rushed up wide when a beaten favourite in a 10f maiden at Chester last time; no surprise to see an improved effort from this colt for his in-form yard First run was better than the second, though perhaps he failed to handle Chester. |

![]() Spinning Wheel |
(1) 7/4(+0%) | (1) Spinning Wheel 7/4, A 3/4l winner of a 10f novice at Beverley, staying on nicely on debut, this gelding's pedigree suggests the step up in trip will suit, and two of those behind him in Yorkshire have won subsequently The horse he beat at Beverley (1m2f, good) won this week at Redcar; penalised. |

(5) 9/2(+0%) | (5) Sharp Move 9/2, Frankel colt; dam smart at 6f as a 2yo; demands respect for top connections and while any market move would be significant, this looks a tough task on soft ground over an extended 11f on debut First foal out of 6f 2yo winner (92) and half-sister to 2m Listed winner Nate The Great. |

![]() Caughtredhanded |
(2) 13/2(+0%) | (2) Caughtredhanded 13/2, Yard won this last year; well below form of Wood Ditton debut when down the field in a 10f maiden at Newbury last time; visor first time; trainer in form; bred to suit the trip but more needed Positive run in the Wood Ditton but ran miserably next time and now in headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Savvy Stellar |
(4) 50/1(+0%) | (4) Savvy Stellar 50/1, Comfortably held in a 10f novice at Chelmsford last time out on seasonal return; plenty more needed up in trip here Has the least convincing form claims after two heavy defeats and one for handicaps. |
SPINNING WHEEL accounted for a decent field when winning on debut at Beverley last month and the son of Postponed is entitled to improve for that experience. With that in mind, he gets the vote over Marnier, who failed to build on a promising racecourse bow when fourth at Chester last time. Frankel colt Sharp Move is from a good family and is a newcomer to note.
Chester needs forgiving but MARNIER looked a horse to follow at Newbury when third to Derby contender Gethin.

(15) 20/1(+0%) | (15) Miss Rainbow 20/1, Ran to form beaten 3l off 45 at Redcar last time; conditions suit; best run for a while last time but needs another significant step forward Exposed maiden but her reappearance wasn't without hope; each-way claims. |

![]() Fumbleinthejungle |
(13) 66/1(+0%) | (13) Fumbleinthejungle 66/1, Below par beaten 9 1/4l in a handicap over 5f at Hamilton last time; generally out of form; cheekpieces first time; not proven trip; lost way badly, lot to prove Finished last in both runs back from mammoth absence; new cheekpieces not enough to tempt. |
As a potential pace angle, VARIETY ISLAND gets the vote as he could be ideally berthed to go either side to attack from stall seven. Tickets overhauled the selection at Redcar on his most recent start but a 4lb higher mark demands more. Therefore, Enderman is suggested as a bigger danger given he could also be on the front end and wouldn't be fazed by making the running. Hurstwood and Canaria Queen have each-way appeal.
Plenty of possibles but 2023 winner HURSTWOOD (nap) ran well at Thirsk on his return to turf and can prove too strong for Juryman.

(12) 66/1(+0%) | (12) Runnindown A Dream 66/1, Raced freely down the field in a handicap over 8f at Yarmouth most recent; not shown anything of worth in five runs; not proven trip; needs huge leap forward Down the field in five starts (5f-1m); best to look elsewhere. |
ANCIENT STATE emerged with plenty of credit, despite only managing fourth here last time, because he was slowly away before pulling too hard and then meeting traffic problems. There is more to come from him off this mark and, providing he gets luck in-running, he ought to go very close. Rogue Endeavour made a pleasing stable debut for Grace Harris when fourth at Salisbury and warrants respect off a 1lb lower figure. Atherstone Beau also has a squeak in first-time cheekpieces.
Ancient State warrants respect but CASTELLINA is well related and is taken to build on her encouraging handicap debut.

(6) 13/2(+0%) | (6) Havana Sky 13/2, Below par when beaten 7l at Newcastle last time but in good form before that; returns here off a break with a significant jockey booking; not out of it if handling the ground Rampant on AW at the end of last year; not ruled out on this comeback and return to turf. |
SCARBOROUGHWARNING finished a respectable third at Kempton last week and goes off the same mark. The four-year-old recorded her maiden victory on turf at Catterick last year and she looks the one to beat. Dark Side Thunder showed more when making the frame over 7f here and, with six of his seven career successes coming over this distance, he has to be respected. Arnaz completes the shortlist.
This is tricky but SCARBOROUGHWARNING is the least exposed of these and is selected to take her turf record to 2-2.

(10) 14/1(+0%) | (10) Warrior Lion 14/1, Burst blood vessel in a Down Royal hurdle last time and not in best form on the AW before that; clearly plenty of questions to answer and risky 0-21 but one to keep a close eye on in the betting on stable debut. |

![]() Freedom Day |
(9) 33/1(+0%) | (9) Freedom Day 33/1, Well beaten in a handicap over 9f at Hamilton latest and poor previous start on return from hurdling; bit to prove now Something to prove regarding current form but well treated and is back up in trip today. |
Valley Of Flowers posted a number of solid efforts last summer and warrants respect on her return to action, while Masekela met trouble at York but has every chance on the form of his previous second at Hamilton. However, a tentative vote goes to CURRAN. Charlie Johnston's gelding wasn't devoid of promise when a staying-on third over 1m2f at Ayr most recently and a further 2lb drop in the ratings should help him go close.
Having gone close at Hamilton early this month, MASEKELA was denied a clear run at York's Dante meeting and gets the nod.

(3) 14/1(+0%) | (3) Watkins 14/1, Beaten 4l off 55 here last time; best on AW of late; trip suits; needs revival after two below par runs but chance on pick of form prior 0-12; yet to build on last month's runner-up effort on AW; but drops in grade.. |
Over Spiced would have 3lb less for future races as she carries a 6lb penalty for winning at Chepstow. Although she can still go well from stall one, STEP ALONG was only a length and a half adrift in third last week and is 6lb better off, plus the 3lb Connor Planas claims from the saddle, which may be enough to turn the form around. Dreambird Dolly needs to bounce back to her best, but may still claim the minor placing.
Over Spiced had the benefit of the stand rail when winning at Chepstow and STEP ALONG can reverse the placings on 6lb better terms.

DE TEMPS EN TEMPS disappointed badly when last seen in February, but is capable of much better and now returns following a break. Runner-up in a point-to-point and the winner of a useful Fairyhouse bumper, he tired badly on his most recent start but reverts to a suitably sounder surface in this winnable race. Ifallgoeswell disappointed at Killarney earlier this month and while he had previously shown form, he has been frustrating to follow. Couldntmakeitup was well beaten by the winner when finishing second at Kilbeggan recently and needs to improve.
Another chance is given to DE TEMPS EN TEMPS who looked a nice prospect in winning his bumper.

(7) 12/1(+0%) | (7) Cancan In The Rain 12/1, Didn't get a clear run when beaten 5l in a handicap at Wolverhampton when last time seen but in good form before that; well beaten on sole start on soft ground Dual winner who was unlucky not to win something last year; now with a new yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bluebells Boy |
(6) 14/1(+0%) | (6) Bluebells Boy 14/1, Didn't get a clear run when beaten on the AW off 74 over 6f at Lingfield last time; all six wins over shorter trips and is unproven on soft ground Last year went well with five wins all told and he continued to run well up to December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bella Bisbee |
(5) 18/1(+0%) | (5) Bella Bisbee 18/1, Yard won this last year; probably needed the race when beaten 3 1/4l off 73 here on seasonal return; may not handle testing ground Encouraging fourth here on her return from a break and that was in a fast-run race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() G'daay |
(8) 7/1(+7%) | (8) G'daay 7/1, Ran to form when beaten 3l off 72 at Chelmsford last time; has acted on good to soft and coped with soft previously but this ground is not ideal Continues to give the impression that career win number eight might be around the corner. |
Drifts Away has improved no less than 21lb since competing in handicaps, filling the runner-up spot at Kempton on his latest outing, and he is one to watch. However, GIORGIO M bounced back to form when hitting the woodwork over track and trip last week and competes off the same rating. With Jack Callan claiming a handy 7lb, he looks the way to go. Of the remainder, Flag Of St George makes the most appeal.
There should be a big run in ONEMORENOMORE (nap) who will surely win away from Doncaster sooner or later.

![]() Devil's Angel |
(8) 15/8(0%) | (8) Devil's Angel 15/8, Won a handicap at Navan by 1 1/4l last time; sound surface suits; very well treated on these terms; can follow up Took advantage of a tumbling mark when landing 19-runner Navan handicap 12 days ago. |
A drop back to a sprint trip worked the oracle for NEZEEH at Cork and that gives him every chance in this claimer. Dylan O'Connor's 10lb claim eases the joint top-weight's burden and leaves him nicely weighted against his rivals. Devil's Angel is another recent winner who enters the equation. He beat a big field at Navan and is well drawn in stall one. Colin Keane is a notable booking for Lismacbryan Hill, who should be monitored for market strength. I Bid You Ajou has snippets of form that entitle him to respect in this company.
Last-time-out winners NEZEEH and Devil's Angel should fight out the finish, with Denis Hogan's gelding fancied to just edge things

![]() Mariner |
(4) 6/1(+0%) | (4) Mariner 6/1, Keeps a bit for himself and did so when scoring by 1 1/4l off 67 over 10f here on penultimate start; bit below that up to 10f last time and return to a mile will suit; more to come if can be persuaded to give it; dangerous 1mf course win this month; failed to stay 1m4f latest and likely still in form. |

![]() Cosmos Raj |
(2) 6/4(+0%) | (2) Cosmos Raj 6/4, Had a bit in hand when winning by 3/4l off 69 at Hamilton on penultimate start and may have improved on that beaten a neck off 71 last time; effective at a mile and looks on attractive mark Clear of rest when second over 1m2f here recently and the one to beat off same mark. |

![]() Harswell Duke |
(6) 7/1(+0%) | (6) Harswell Duke 7/1, Ran to form beaten 2l off 64 at Southwell last time seeming to have regressed; mark does now reflect current ability but others appeal more Second on AW reappearance; all four wins on soft/heavy so rain a boost for him. |

![]() Clear Angel |
(3) 8/1(+0%) | (3) Clear Angel 8/1, Well backed when beaten 2 1/4l off 72 at Newcastle last time and that form reflects current level; trainer in form; mark is falling, but needs to recapture previously much better form to win Three 1m turf wins; fit from AW and can figure off his reduced mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Havana Prince |
(1) 11/4(+0%) | (1) Havana Prince 11/4, Well backed when landing a handicap by 1 1/2l off 67 over 7f at Redcar last time; goes well here (twice C&D winner); enjoys making it; reliable and will go close, but weight may just stop winning this time Redcar winner last month; also a dual C&D scorer and should remain competitive up 4lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Volenti |
(5) 20/1(+0%) | (5) Volenti 20/1, Very narrowly beaten off a 64 at Newcastle three starts back and chance on that form, but has run poorly since; hard to recommend Four AW wins since last autumn but well held back on turf here latest. |
HAVANA PRINCE had a number of subsequent winners behind when scoring readily over 7f at Redcar last month and with stepping back up in trip unlikely to bother this dual C&D scorer, he is fancied to defy a 4lb rise. Cosmos Raj is 3lb well-in following his recent narrow defeat over 1m2f here and he is likely to be in the shake-up again. Mariner could fare best of the remainder.
David O'Meara's COSMOS RAJ turns out again before a 3lb rise for his recent 1m2f course second kicks in and he's the one to beat.

KEEP UP has shown good ability in bumpers and will be ready on jumps debut. From a useful French family, she defeated a subsequent winner on her Roscommon introduction last August and while then beaten 16 lengths into fifth at Listed level in October, that Gowran race was smart and she finished a long way ahead of the other runners. One of those was Cameletta Vega, who earlier this month defeated Emily Love to score at Cork. Emily Love has recent hurdling form, though, which is a big help, but lacks the selection's ability. Galway Festival bumper winner Fortunate Lighting failed to recover after being badly hampered at Wexford and is capable of better.
Keep Up brings potential into her hurdles career but EMILY LOVE (nap) has the benefit of jumps experience and that could be crucial

Worrals has hit a top-four finish on her last six starts and she could go well, despite an absence since July last year. However, she may struggle to cope with the race-fit ARANTES NASCIMENTO, who showed plenty of promise when third on his return from a break at Doncaster and is entitled to step forward on his second start for Gemma Tutty. Belsito is also capable enough if he improves on his second appearance after wind surgery.
The return to these conditions make BELSITO (nap) particularly interesting, having won and finished a close second over C&D last June.

SAPPHIRE PRINCESS has shown more than enough to suggest that a maiden should soon be within her grasp. The Kingman filly has been placed in both maidens she has contested in Cork and the form looks strong. The horse who beat her into second on debut has since been placed in a Group 3, while the winner of her latest race went on to be fifth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas last weekend. Sun Soldier offered plenty to work with when a promising second on debut behind the favourite in a Navan maiden, while Gypsy Queen came home a never-nearer fifth on her first outing in Limerick and should improve upon that result.
Sun Soldier made a pleasing debut but the maiden form of SAPPHIRE PRINCESS (nap) looks stronger and she's fancied to win this

(7) 11/1(+0%) | (7) Gloriously Sassy 11/1, Similar level of form in three runs, last time decisively held third on turf debut at Wetherby; early days but more is needed from handicap debutant now. Should stay (failed to prove it last time) but needs overall improvement on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Moonjid |
(13) 14/1(+0%) | (13) Moonjid 14/1, Fair form at best in last two of last season's three-race 2yo campaign; gelded since; 1m stamina far from proven and improvement needed on seasonal/handicap debut now. Did not see out 1m when favourite on final 2yo start; gelded since; makes handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Run With It |
(6) 16/1(+0%) | (6) Run With It 16/1, Ran to form despite beaten 8l in a novice at Nottingham last time; won AW maiden time before; fair opening mark and is possible improver for good yard now. Won Southwell maiden (1m, AW); last of five in Nottingham novice (1m, good) on turf debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Imperial Trooper |
(2) 18/1(+0%) | (2) Imperial Trooper 18/1, Quite consistent winning 2yo (at 7f); versatile as regards ground; maybe needed the run on last month's seasonal debut; looks rather exposed, though. 12-1 when fading right out of it at Haydock (1m, good) on return, presumably needing it. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Emery Down |
(10) 18/1(+0%) | (10) Emery Down 18/1, Improved on form of two turf runs last season when winning 7f maiden on AW/seasonal debut this month; this demands more but she is a lightly-raced possible improver now. Still green but produced a strong run from towards rear for Kempton maiden win (7f, AW). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Lunar Orbit |
(9) 25/1(+0%) | (9) Lunar Orbit 25/1, Probably needed the race at Newmarket latest but well-beaten run is still a bit off-putting; hood first time; evidently not progressing and has 1m stamina to prove too. Settling in rear proved difficult on handicap debut (7f) and he hung badly right; hood now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rockin' The Boat |
(3) 5/2(+17%) | (3) Rockin' The Boat 5/2, Four-race maiden, all at 7f, who ran to form on this month's seasonal debut at Newmarket; bit more needed but jockey booking takes the eye. 4th of 11 in 7f handicap at Newmarket, bumped early and hanging while coming from last. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Winston's Warrior |
(8) 15/2(0%) | (8) Winston's Warrior 15/2, Has run to similar figures in last three of four starts, last twice on AW and including reappearance second upped to 1m; shouldn't be at all far away. Second on Kempton AW (7f/1m) on last two starts, going mighty close in handicap last time. |
Wicked showed improvement when filling the runner-up spot at Newmarket earlier in the month and is an interesting contender off an opening mark of 80. However, VIRTUE PATIENCE was only beaten a neck into second at Kempton and is just 2lb higher. Amanda Perrett's three-year-old could have lots more to offer and has Sean Levey booked. Run With It and Moonjid are just two others to consider in an open event.
Emery Down, Winston's Warrior and Wicked are shortlisted but ROCKIN' THE BOAT looks worth another chance.

SHARETHEKNOWLEDGE has run two consistent races at this level recently and should again compete. He initially showed some promise in a May 2023 point-to-point, finished second in a maiden hurdle last year and was touched off wearing a first-time tongue-tie at Clonmel a fortnight ago. Faceman, out of top racemare Solerina, debuts in handicaps on his first run since December. His initial form last autumn reads well in the context of this ordinary handicap and while beaten long distances on his two most recent hurdle attempts, now returns following a break. The Striker Dylan flopped on a recent Sligo reappearance, but has proven form at this level and now wears first-time cheekpieces.
SHARETHEKNOWLEDGE is one of very few that comes into this race in any sort of form and he may be able to shed the maiden tag.

![]() Biplane |

(9) 11/1(+0%) | (9) Giselles Izzy 11/1, Probably needed race beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Ayr last time; placed at Newcastle prior; not the most consistent; risky Patchy form since latest win off 12lb higher; not quite sure what to expect. |

(6) 11/2(+0%) | (6) Yazaman 11/2, Ran to form beaten 4l off 64 at Nottingham last time; formerly triple rated; completed a 4-timer last term, now just 1lb above last winning mark; threat Completed a four-timer in the middle of last year, but is 0-32 over 6f and beyond. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Silent Flame |
(4) 12/1(+0%) | (4) Silent Flame 12/1, Down the field in a handicap at Leicester most recent when perhaps not suited by the testing conditions; off since October; tends to need the run Acts on any ground but she has a modest record fresh so the 233-day absence is a concern. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Prince Of Bel Lir |
(8) 12/1(+0%) | (8) Prince Of Bel Lir 12/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap at Lingfield last time; generally out of form; well treated for revival, but has a bit to prove on current form Quiet in his last four starts and needs to be reinvigorated by the change of yards. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sir Maxi |
(5) 14/1(+0%) | (5) Sir Maxi 14/1, Scored by 1 1/2l off 59 over 7f at Chelmsford in March; seventh beaten 6l off 65 last time when given too much to do; visor first time; usually held up; in the mix Four-time winner on turf and should be suited by this stiff 6f; visor on; shortlisted. |
SIR GARFIELD looks to have a solid chance after a Catterick victory was followed with a second at Ayr and although he has been put up 2lb, the booking of Simon Walker is an eyecatching one. Thornaby Pearl could step forward after returning with a two-length third at Ripon, while Silent Flame is a six-time winner over this trip, with three of them off higher marks.
Easing ground would be to the advantage of BAY BREEZE who has dropped 1lb lower than when winning at Nottingham last October.

(2) 5/2(+0%) | (2) No Return 5/2, Made too much use of fourth beaten 4 1/4l in a handicap at Naas latest; maiden winner from the front prior; cheekpieces first time; unproven on fast ground; touch more required Curragh maiden winner, has 1.25l to find with Gazelle d'Or on Naas running, place chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Misappropriation |
(1) 11/1(+0%) | (1) Misappropriation 11/1, Probably needed race down the field in a handicap over 7f at The Curragh most recent; progressive prior; down in trip; unproven on fast ground; more needed to defy top weight Dundalk winner, never involved over 7f on seasonal/handicap debut, rider's claim a help. |

![]() Red Veil |
(4) 11/2(+0%) | (4) Red Veil 11/2, Appeared not to stay down the field in a maiden over 7f at Leopardstown most recent where not helped by poor draw; top course jockey; returning from long layoff; could figure off fair opening mark if money arrives Placed at Listowel last June, missed the second half of last season, not easy to assess. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bearwithus |
(5) 22/1(+0%) | (5) Bearwithus 22/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 10l in a maiden over 8f at Naas last time; back in trip; unproven on fast ground; outside chance Promising debut when fourth at Galway, has failed to build on that sole juvenile start. |

![]() Elusive Duke |
(8) 22/1(+0%) | (8) Elusive Duke 22/1, Below par down the field in a handicap at The Curragh most recent; generally out of form since promising debut; usually held up; bit to find Cork debut last autumn seemed very encouraging, no trace of that form this season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Send Harry |
(7) 25/1(+0%) | (7) Send Harry 25/1, Below par down the field in a handicap at The Curragh most recent; inconsistent in short career; best form on AW; hood first time; unproven on fast ground; bit to find Finished with one behind when 33-1 in a 27-runner contest on handicap debut, hooded now. |

![]() Ellomate |
(9) 33/1(+0%) | (9) Ellomate 33/1, Poorly drawn beaten 9l in a nursery over 5f at Southwell last time; well fancied that day; usually consistent; up in trip; unproven on fast ground; may just need this back from break on stable debut Placed three times on AW for Richard Hughes, turf form is not particularly appealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Gazelle D'or |
(3) 7/4(+22%) | (3) Gazelle D'or 7/4, Travelled well when scored by a nose off 75 at The Curragh penultimate start; third beaten 3l off 80 last time where tired late at stiff track; hugely progressive; leading contender Consistent sprint handicapper, fair third at Naas since Curragh win on seasonal debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hugo's Girl |
(6) 5/1(-11%) | (6) Hugo's Girl 5/1, Ran to form 5l third in a handicap over 7f at The Curragh most recent run; down in trip; unproven on fast ground; good mark on maiden form; potential threat Promising third from out of the handicap at the Curragh. |
GAZELLE D'OR appeals after being dropped 3lb for finishing a decent third in a much higher grade at Naas. She certainly knows where the winning post is having landed three of her previous five races, and Billy Lee comes in for the ride for the first time. No Return was just over a length behind her in fourth in that Naas sprint. He gets first-time cheekpieces and can go well. Misappropriation didn't show her true colours on her seasonal reappearance at the Curragh, but could bounce back under a promising 7lb claimer. Red Veil makes her handicap debut off a long absence and shouldn't be a back-marker.
Michael Grassick's three-time winner GAZELLE D'OR can land another prize by upholding recent Naas form with No Return

![]() Sayidah Hard Spun |
(7) 10/1(+0%) | (7) Sayidah Hard Spun 10/1, Fulfilled Ascot debut promise at 5f when upped to 6f and decisive winner on Kempton AW latest; this is undoubtedly harder but it's quite possible she can come on again. ![]() Eskimo Pie |
(6) 14/1(+0%) | (6) Eskimo Pie 14/1, Runner-up in a novice over 6f at Newmarket on debut recently; this demands more up in grade and down in trip now. Showed good pace when second over 6f on recent debut and she's open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Alkuwarrior |
(1) 100/1(+0%) | (1) Alkuwarrior 100/1, Has already had six races, winning one of them, at Yarmouth last month; doesn't look up to this. Six races, with sole win coming in a maiden at Yarmouth; up against it today. |
Sayidah Hard Spun justified favouritism at Kempton eight days ago and the booking of William Buick catches the eye. However, FIRST LEGION made a deeper impression when coming through the field to strike on his first outing at York earlier in the month. Richard Hannon's colt has got plenty of pace in his pedigree and could take this step up in class in his stride. The unbeaten Anthelia is another to keep an eye on.
Ripon winner Clear Force is a big danger but preference is for ESKIMO PIE, who is taken to build on her promising debut second.

(17) 22/1(0%) | (17) Hob's Angel 22/1, Bit too much to do beaten 4l off 76 over 2m5f at Tramore last time where forced wide throughout; this track could suit better; not proven trip; bit to find Ran well despite hanging left on latest, improve for that but going right-handed a worry. |
QUINN THE ESKIMO is well related and can continue to progress. A half-brother to four winners, including a German Group 3 scorer, he was well beaten in three maiden hurdles but showed promise at Fairyhouse in April before tasting success at Down Royal 24 days ago. He is 7lb higher, but defeated plenty of rivals and is well suited by a sound surface. Tir Og has recent form and while the selection has stronger credentials, she is just a four-year-old so can continue to improve. Hob's Angel hung left when showing improvement at Tramore last month, but is nonetheless an exposed 12-race maiden.
MASSABIELLE ran well over C&D last October, she's just 1lb higher now and she should improve for her last run after a break.

Mister Moet showed some improvement for his debut ninth when second at Hamilton, but he was beaten five lengths at the line and may need more to win this. Clear Above is of interest for Richard Fahey, but the vote goes to Archie Watson's SNAKE CHARMER. As a son of Time Test, he may be better over further in time, but he travels north from Lambourn for a reason and could be above average.
Preference is for MISTER MOET, who left his debut form well behind when runner-up behind a useful prospect at Hamilton two weeks ago.

JACKIE BROWN caught the eye coming from a long way back for sixth at the Curragh. She is a former winner over a similar trip at this track. Havana Notion ought to be competitive off a mark of 46. He's had a stint on the Polytrack in Dundalk, which yielded a best finish of third in March. On his penultimate start on turf, he won an apprentice handicap in Tipperary off a rating of 55. Step Back In Time is also on a more-than-fair mark and it was just three runs back that she delivered in Navan. Navorrosse showed that her next turn may not be far away when placed in Navan and Gowran Park.
A C&D winner on this card in 2023, JACKIE BROWN ran on well for sixth in a 27-runner event at the Curragh last time and may collect now

![]() Trawlerman |
(5) 5/6(+0%) | (5) Trawlerman 5/6, Yard won this last year; ran okay at Meydan latest without being at his best; fine chance on excellent Ascot form last June (second in Gold Cup) and October; can front-run. Should build on his Dubai Gold Cup run and he's very much the one to beat on 2024 form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Al Nayyir |
(1) 7/2(+0%) | (1) Al Nayyir 7/2, Below-par last time but ran to form in previous fifth in valuable Riyadh handicap; peak form would entitle him to respect and can show it in a small field too. Big shout if returning to 2024 form; 2025 Dubai Gold Cup was disappointing on latest start. |

![]() Coltrane |
(3) 11/2(+0%) | (3) Coltrane 11/2, 8yo was still pretty smart last season without quite being the force of old; no more than satisfactory seasonal return at Ascot in April; won well only previous C&D run; respected. Mixed results for a while but could build on last month's Ascot run. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tashkhan |
(4) 40/1(+0%) | (4) Tashkhan 40/1, Smart stayer at his best but something to prove on his form over the last year or so; off since September (in a visor, which is left off now); ground any faster than good would be an issue. All his wins have been on soft or heavy and none in a Group or Listed race; visor off. |
TRAWLERMAN had Al Nayyir (eighth) behind when returning to finish fifth in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan last month and this may prove to be an easier assignment. The Gosdens' seven-year-old is a previous Group 2 winner and sets a fair standard with an official rating of 118. Coltrane ran below par when second in a Group 3 at Ascot last month, but he has competed in much deeper contests than this and needs to be considered. Burdett Road looks next best.
It's TRAWLERMAN who is the class act judged on the last two seasons. Hopefully his Dubai Gold Cup run will prove just a stepping stone.

LONG GONE may be able to make a winning start in handicap company. The Getaway mare did well to score over an extended two miles around Tramore and should appreciate going a bit further now. A mark of 110 doesn't look harsh as there is scope for a bit more improvement from her. Shadow Paddy also comes here in winning form and has to be respected. He left previous form well behind at Tipperary just over two weeks ago and got an 8lb hike for that victory. Rut Daniels, an easy winner of a maiden hurdle here back in November, is another relatively unexposed sort who has to be on the shortlist.
Wide open. The suggestion is ONEFORTHEDITCH who may have needed her comeback race and she's likeably consistent in the main.

(11) 18/1(+0%) | (11) Impressor 18/1, Seemed to be on stiff mark beaten 6l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; winner prior; off since November; more needed Rain would be very much in his favour, but record suggests this run may be needed. |

![]() Invincible Annice |
(12) 28/1(+0%) | (12) Invincible Annice 28/1, Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 6f at Ripon most recent; yet to win in handicap company; remains of interest Failed to beat a rival on last month's stable debut/reappearance; enough to prove. |
BRUMMELL just came out on top in a similarly competitive handicap at Beverley five weeks ago and, entitled to improve for that first start since November, he could defy a 4lb rise in the ratings. Moonstone Boy was narrowly denied his own comeback victory at Musselburgh five days earlier and he is likely to be in the shake-up again. Water Of Leith and Irish Nectar are others to note.
The vote goes to BRUMMELL whose successful Beverley reappearance suggests he is still improving.

(9) 11/1(+45%) | (9) Kodi's Angel 11/1, Looked to want further fourth beaten 7l in an auction race over 6f at Sligo latest; step up in trip a plus; unproven on fast ground; bit to find on these terms Has failed to build on last season's promising debut over this trip at Down Royal. |
TAM LIN scored at Bellewstown in April and had excuses on his next two starts when he wasn't at his best on heavy ground in Gowran Park and then when the trip looked too far in Sligo. He usually races prominently so Jamie Powell will need to get him away well from stall 16. Northern Attitude showed a lot more in second on her handicap debut at Roscommon and the blinkers that were deployed there are retained. Great Mover could be a factor after a couple of placed efforts over further last season. Spent All Me Money was a ready winner of a claiming maiden in Roscommon, which has earned him top weight on his first venture into a handicap.
First-time blinkers seemed to do the trick for NORTHERN ATTITUDE when second at Roscommon and she can go one better now

Close 3rd (Ancient Wisdom 2nd) on C&D return, hampered before finishing with more to give. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Military Order |
(9) 11/2(+0%) | (9) Military Order 11/2, Used to be just as good on turf as on the AW but there's now a doubt about grass; Buick has plumped for him after good AW Listed win last time and leading form contender. 379-day absence before winning stylishly in a Listed race at Kempton (1m2f, AW) in April. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ombudsman |
(1) 11/4(+0%) | (1) Ombudsman 11/4, Four from four in first season on the track last year, winding up with Longchamp Gr 3 in September; this is harder for sure under a penalty but has the potential to progress again in 2025. 4-4, all last term and ending with French Listed race and Group 3; more in the tank. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Enfjaar |
(8) 12/1(+0%) | (8) Enfjaar 12/1, Needs a career-best but he's comparatively lightly raced while latest second in Ayr Listed race can be upgraded; won first time out in his three previous seasons; interesting. Won top handicap at York last July and close 2nd to Persica in Listed race; may do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Persica |
(2) 14/1(+0%) | (2) Persica 14/1, Tough task and 1m too sharp latest; better judged on career-best win in 9f Newmarket Gr 3 the time before in April; this looks a tough task on overall form and under a penalty now. 1m Group 1 (22-1) 12 days ago is not the hardest to forgive but this also looks tricky. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bolster |
(6) 14/1(+0%) | (6) Bolster 14/1, Yard won this last year; developed into smart performer last season and satisfactory return at Chester this month but needs a career-best now while slower ground probably preferable. Usually front-runner; three handicap wins last year before a narrow Listed win in November. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ancient Wisdom |
(5) 17/2(+0%) | (5) Ancient Wisdom 17/2, Uneven look to his form while ground any faster than good would be a worry; leading form contender on latest good, front-running Gr 3 C&D second though. Bold show from the front in Group 3 over C&D (good) five weeks ago, with Almaqam close up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Phantom Flight |
(10) 25/1(+0%) | (10) Phantom Flight 25/1, Below-par latest when the drop to 1m was a plausible excuse; smart performer and trip/ground to suit but has fair bit to find with the best of these. Dual Listed winner; even his best form is not quite a match for today's rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Aafoor |
(3) 66/1(+0%) | (3) Aafoor 66/1, Running well most recently, last time in a valuable handicap at Riyadh in February; plenty more needed to be involved here; others preferred. Three wins in Qatar this winter but he faces a stiff task in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Cicero's Gift |
(7) 12/1(+25%) | (7) Cicero's Gift 12/1, Smart performer at his best, as when third in Gr 2 over 1m (good; unproven on faster) on reappearance here last month; more needed and pedigree raises stamina doubt upped to 10f. Came from last to third in the last 2f of eight-runner Group 2 here (1m, good) on return. |
OMBUDSMAN puts his unbeaten record on the line here after wins at Newmarket, Leicester, Deauville and Longchamp. As the Night Of Thunder colt was unraced as a juvenile, he could go on to even better things this year. Almaqam comes out top on official ratings and is a serious danger in receipt of 3lb from the selection. He shaped encouragingly on his return over C&D last month, while trainer Charlie Appleby can do little wrong at present and his pair of Military Order and Ancient Wisdom also deserve plenty of respect.
There is tremendous strength in depth to this field but OMBUDSMAN (nap) and Almaqam are horses to follow.

Stepping up in trip may help the well-bred JEKIKI and there looks to be a race in her off this kind of mark. The Soldier Of Fortune mare, who is out of a half-sister to Jezki, showed up better at Clonmel last time when plugging on to finish fifth and stretches out over a couple of furlongs further now. It's Time Again was a game winner at Ballinrobe on her return to action last month and is entitled to play a big part again after just a 5lb rise. Kiln Time is consistent at a low level and could be one for a place.
WEST OF CARRIG was a beaten favourite when not getting home over 3m1f latest but he might be able to make amends dropped back in trip

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Martin's Brig |
(6) 7/2(-5%) | (6) Martin's Brig 7/2, Game when landing a handicap by a short-head off 47 over 7f at Wetherby last time; no issues up in trip; goes well here; leading claims Two wins this year including from the front at Wetherby latest; big player again up 3lb. |
MARTIN'S BRIG shades the verdict in an open handicap. David Thompson's charge is a 7f course winner and he also struck over that trip at Wetherby last time. Going back up in distance shouldn't pose any problems for this three-time 1m scorer and he looks sure to play a leading role. Any market support for stable debutant Superior Council would be interesting, while Little Ted also merits a place on the shortlist.
The vote goes to AMERICAN STAR, who showed signs of a revival at Wolverhampton and is very well treated on his Chester win last summer.

(14) 40/1(-21%) | (14) There's No Limit 40/1, Below par down the field in a claimer over 12f at Dundalk most recent; generally out of form in both codes; down in trip; more needed Won Ballinrobe claimer (9.5f, good) last summer but has been woefully out of form since. |
Sea The Stars filly STEP TO SOMEWHERE kept on without threatening in third at Navan last month and can improve upon that. It was her seasonal reappearance and winners have come out of the race. Breathe Again posted her best result to date when third over an extended 1m1f at Gowran Park and there could be more to come from Sheila Lavery's charge, while Alto Sax won a claimer over C&D a year ago and ran well in second when last seen over 1m in Leopardstown. Rockbury Lad finished behind him in fifth there, but has ability and won on his penultimate appearance in Bellewstown. He looks well worth another go at this trip.
The tentative vote goes to Andy Slattery's RANKO EXPRESS, who should appreciate this week's forecast rain

![]() Bay City Roller |
(1) 9/4(+0%) | (1) Bay City Roller 9/4, Three from three at 7f as a 2yo, winding up with Gr 2 win at Doncaster in September; pedigree strongly suggests 1m (and beyond) will suit; probably needs a bit more to defy a penalty. ![]() Opera Ballo |
(5) 9/4(+0%) | (5) Opera Ballo 9/4, Won very well on Kempton AW on first two starts in the winter; down the field on turf debut latest but too free (hood goes on now) and still has leading form chance even on that effort. Impressive on AW on first two starts; pulled hard when sixth in Craven; retains potential. |

![]() Jackknife |
(2) 10/1(+0%) | (2) Jackknife 10/1, Pretty useful form for a newcomer when winning at Epsom (extended 1m) in April; this is definitely harder but unexposed and not ruled out. Narrow debut win at Epsom; half-brother to top-class Defoe; could have lots more to offer. |

![]() Matauri Bay |
(3) 11/2(+0%) | (3) Matauri Bay 11/2, Bright start to career last season and would not at all far away on his second in 7f Gr 3 here on second start then; well beaten twice since, latterly on seasonal debut; bit to prove now. Group 2 runner-up here last August; down the field in Craven but may have needed the run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Pellitory |
(6) 12/1(+0%) | (6) Pellitory 12/1, Tardily away at Newmarket last time but should still have run better; won over that same 7f on reappearance previously; needs a career-best on second start at 1m. Listed flop at Newmarket last time but progressive previously and he's not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Suhail Star |
(7) 50/1(+0%) | (7) Suhail Star 50/1, Comes here on the back of in-form runs at Qatar; 6.5f and 7f winner there this winter before latest 10.5f second; lot more needed. Two wins in Qatar in February but looks to face a tough task on this first British start. |
Opera Ballo pulled too hard before finishing sixth in the Craven at Newmarket, but connections add a hood for the first time and we may see a much better effort. Nebras drops back in trip wearing first-time cheekpieces after his Newmarket second over 10 furlongs. He can go well with the stiff uphill finish expected to suit, but BAY CITY ROLLER could have their measure. Unbeaten after three starts including winning the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, he drops in class for his return to action and could be up to giving 5lb and a beating to the rest of the field.
Having impressed on AW on his first two starts, OPERA BALLO pulled hard when only sixth in the Craven and could benefit from the hood.

![]() Subpoena |
(14) () | (14) Subpoena , Pour Moi mare; hood first time; tough enough task on debut First foal out of a 2m hurdle winner; hooded for debut. |
The obvious starting point is the Willie Mullins-trained FORTY KAY and it would be no surprise if she was good enough to make a winning debut. The No Risk At All mare cost just 11,000 pounds as a store and is out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner Dilshaan. Emmet Mullins' newcomer Barra Rua is another to note. The Camelot mare is a half-sister to Grade 1-winning chaser Coney Island. Betty Mo Chara shaped nicely when fourth on her debut here last month and may be the pick of those to have run.
A modest bumper. FORTY KAY isn't wildly appealing on pedigree and only cost £11,000 as a 3yo, but she's in the right yard.

A promising winner at Kempton on his only start as a juvenile, PUSH THE LIMIT is readily suggested as the one to be with after another solid display when narrowly defeated at Newmarket on his return. The King's Falcon was a length and three-quarters behind the selection in that Kempton race and, match-fit after going close at Epsom, he has a fair chance of turning things around on these terms. Newcastle winner Sea The Light and Danger Bay complete the shortlist.
Having bumped into a useful sort when second of four on his debut at Haydock last August, DANGER BAY is taken to go one better.

(10) 10/1(0%) | (10) Edergole's Angel 10/1, Back to form beaten 2l off 66 over 8f at Bellewstown last time; up in trip; unproven on fast ground; off a short-break; place claims if stamina holds up Ran a belter on return when third of 15 at Bellewstown; first try at beyond the mile. |
FLYING FORTRESS was professional when winning on stable debut at Ballinrobe and could go in again. He showed ability in Britain when trained by James Owen as he finished runner-up on two occasions at Yarmouth. Winston Junior is a horse to note making his handicap bow. He has attracted support in three maiden outings, with best finishes of fifth at Galway and the Curragh. He competes off a mark of 71 with Keithen Kennedy's 5lb claim factored in. A step up in trip and a drop into claiming company, with first-time cheekpieces, saw Fantazy Man take the spoils in Ballinrobe. He has to give weight away, but that was a solid performance and he could be progressive.
FLYING FORTRESS won on his first start for Gavin Cromwell and can be expected to improve again with the cobwebs blown away

![]() Crack Shot |
(10) 6/1(+0%) | (10) Crack Shot 6/1, Below-par when down the field at Newmarket most recently; Buick retaining the ride takes the eye; 6lb lower than when fourth (favourite) in this last year; worth considering. Mixed signals but William Buick (on board last time) returns for another crack. |

![]() Alpha Crucis |
(3) 8/1(+0%) | (3) Alpha Crucis 8/1, Ended last season in fine form (including two wins on heavy at Goodwood) and seasonal debut run at Doncaster in March was solid; this faster ground a major unknown factor though. Should have benefited from reappearance but he's of most interest on soft or heavy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Surrey Shadow |
(9) 11/2(+0%) | (9) Surrey Shadow 11/2, Lightly-raced 4yo who comes here in good form, last time fourth of 21 in Spring Mile at Doncaster; it's possible there's more to come and very much a contender. 9-1 when 4th of 21 on handicap debut in Spring Mile at Doncaster (good to soft) in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Smart Hero |
(1) 12/1(+0%) | (1) Smart Hero 12/1, Below-par when upped to 10f on Newcastle AW last time; in good form previously; ran to his then form in first of two turf starts; a contender if that last run is overlooked. Two wins at Wolverhampton early this year but well beaten in a valuable Newcastle race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Sierra Blanca |
(5) 12/1(+0%) | (5) Sierra Blanca 12/1, Not at all far away if resuming at same level as when second last time at Haydock in October; that was on heavy though and record raises doubts about faster ground; change of headgear. Beaten a neck in first-time blinkers last October when last seen; now tries cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Arkhalia Flynn |
(11) 12/1(+0%) | (11) Arkhalia Flynn 12/1, Running consistently well when last seen out last autumn; needs a bit more on balance though and was better for seasonal debut in both of his previous campaigns. Made his mark in handicaps last term; unraced on firmer than good; interesting prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Whip Cracker |
(2) 13/2(+0%) | (2) Whip Cracker 13/2, Below-par again at Thirsk last time; cheekpieces first time and has possibilities if they can spark a return to his very best; stable in good form. Lesser shows on last two starts (the Lincoln and Thirsk Hunt Cup) and headgear goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Golden Ocean |
(6) 13/2(+0%) | (6) Golden Ocean 13/2, Lightly-raced and well-bred filly who closed out last season's four-race campaign with maiden and handicap wins over 1m at Navan; potential improver now and high on the list. With new yard; promising after winning a 1m maiden and handicap on last two Irish starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Hafeet Alain |
(4) 18/1(+0%) | (4) Hafeet Alain 18/1, Off since below-par run at 7f (1m is now better for him) in December; 3lb lower here than when a good reappearance winner at Newmarket last year so this 9yo is well worth considering. 3lb lower than when he beat his 16 rivals at Newmarket in April 2024; remains of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Atlantic Gamble |
(12) 20/1(+0%) | (12) Atlantic Gamble 20/1, Yard won this last year; slowly away when down the field both starts this season; needs a significant revival and this ground poses a definite question too (may need it slower). Six wins 2024; he's not fired on either start this term but has a competitive mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Miletus |
(8) 22/1(+0%) | (8) Miletus 22/1, Wide trip when down the field upped to 10f at Ascot most recently, in June; 1m novice winner (soft) previously; gelded since last time; one or two questions to answer here. Behind on handicap debut at Royal Ascot (1m2f, good to firm) last June; gelded in December. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() I Still Have Faith |
(13) 25/1(+0%) | (13) I Still Have Faith 25/1, Below-par latest and off for 10 months since; did run very well on reappearance in 2024 and trip/ground are fine but something to prove all told. Neck second (1m, good) last May but below form on his only two runs since (last May/July). |
Atlantic Gamble has won six races, five over the mile, and although not at his best so far this season, he could go well under Hollie Doyle. Golden Ocean ended last season with two wins at Navan and she looks interesting on her first start for David Menuisier, but a chance is taken on WHIP CRACKER. Dropped in class after finishing ninth at Thirsk, first-time cheekpieces are tried off a 2lb lower mark and, with Ryan Moore booked to ride, he may have more going for him than it appears at first glance.
Surrey Shadow, Golden Ocean and Hafeet Alain are tempting but a chance is taken on the readiness of ARKHALIA FLYNN.

![]() Sweet Cicely |
(7) 4/1(+0%) | (7) Sweet Cicely 4/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 4l off 53 over 8f at Ripon last time; hinted at better prior; up in trip; big chance 0-12 but she's made the frame in handicaps on her last three starts; might not be far away. |

![]() Hill O Rue |
(1) 7/4(+0%) | (1) Hill O Rue 7/4, Beaten 3 1/2l off 56 over 8f at Ripon last time; well backed second at Redcar prior, not helped by slow start; should improve up in trip; threat Placed this spring in his first two handicaps; today's race could be a good opportunity. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Havachoc |
(6) 8/1(+0%) | (6) Havachoc 8/1, Going probably on fast side beaten 7l in a handicap over 12f at Haydock last time; generally out of form; not proven trip; interesting eased in grade Weakened over 11.6f on handicap debut and today's shorter trip could be a good fit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Nippasso |
(3) 10/1(+0%) | (3) Nippasso 10/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 7 1/4l in a handicap over 8f at Ripon last time; generally out of form; up in trip; bit to prove Yet to threaten but didn't run badly on handicap debut and she's open to improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() That Lucas Fella |
(5) 10/3(+0%) | (5) That Lucas Fella 10/3, Ideally suited by trip second beaten 4l off 55 at Wolverhampton last time; improved effort; could contend Back to form when runner-up in AW handicap last week and he's on the shortlist. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() I Got Know How |
(8) 12/1(+0%) | (8) I Got Know How 12/1, Beaten 10l in a handicap over 7f at Redcar last time; in good form prior; trainer in form; up in trip; could sneak a place Fair efforts in 6f handicaps this year but below par over 7f latest; now tackles 1m1f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tootsie |
(4) 14/1(+0%) | (4) Tootsie 14/1, Raced freely beaten 9l in a handicap over 8f at Nottingham last time; top course trainer; up in trip; chance down in grade Soundly beaten on handicap debut but made some late headway and this is a stiffer test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Belabambina |
(2) 20/1(+0%) | (2) Belabambina 20/1, Appeared not to stay beaten 8l in a handicap over 8f at Bath last time; excuses on handicap debut prior; up in trip; eased 4lb; more needed Close sixth in AW novice in March but down the field since in first two handicaps. |
Recent form points towards a bold showing from HILL O RUE, who had Sweet Cicely a place behind when he finished third at Ripon. Given the latter benefited from a 7lb claimer being in the saddle in that race, Kevin Ryan's gelding can uphold the form on the revised terms. Nippasso was a well-held sixth at Ripon so That Lucas Fella is suggested as a more plausible alternative after an improved effort at Wolverhampton last week.
Having made late headway at Nottingham, today's stiffer test could be right up TOOTSIE's street. Hill O Rue is second choice.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
