LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

RAMPANT still had plenty to do with a furlong and a half to go when staying on to finish a fair third in a classified stakes at Wolverhampton recently. The five-year-old now drops back into a handicap and he could capitalise on a career-low mark. Jumeira Vision failed to land a blow at Musselburgh last time, but he has been dropped 1lb and is a previous course winner. Hot Team is another to note.

Hard to warm to many of these and JUMEIRA VISION is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Gemini Man.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Karl Burke, James Doyle and Wathnan Racing teamed up to land this race 12 months ago with Leovanni and they could repeat the dose courtesy of ZELAINA. The daughter of Mehmas was an impressive winner on her debut at Nottingham, the same race in which Leovanni made a successful racecourse bow, and this 650,000-pound Breeze-Up purchase could be yet another exciting youngster for a stable that have been leading the way with their juveniles this term. Michael Bell was glowing in his review of Spicy Marg, who made a winning debut at Newmarket, and she is well worth considering, along with the likes of C&D winner Society Kiss and Marygate victor Secret Hideaway.

Aidan O'Brien has yet to win a Queen Mary but TRUE LOVE could put that right. It was a big run over 6f last time and she's back at 5f.

Unbeaten in this discipline, ROCKS UP LATE has adapted well to chasing and has a big chance of extending his winning sequence to 3-3 over the larger obstacles. The son of Vadamos looked to be at the end of his tether stamina-wise when he won over 2m2f at Fontwell last month and this shorter trip can help to offset a 5lb higher rating. Jaipaletemps and Rathmacknee can make this a good test if matching anything like their best.

The one with standout claims in this uncompetitive opener is ROCKS UP LATE, who has made an excellent start to his chasing career.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content,

BAGGOT STREET improved on her debut fourth when only finding a hot favourite too good at Ripon last month and she will have more improvement in her. The daughter of Oasis Dream looks to have found a nice opportunity and can put her experience to good use. Awaafi has speed in her pedigree and the Richard Fahey yard are in good form, so she warrants a market check on her debut. 60,000 pounds purchase Alasrae also needs to be monitored in the market.

Baggot Street has more to offer but Aspiral and AWAAFI are newcomers of note.

Having enjoyed success on eight previous occasions, Aidan O'Brien's record in this race is impeccable and the Ballydoyle trainer again has live contenders in the shape of Shackleton and Scandinavia, who are potential improvers over this distance. John & Thady Gosden's yard also has a strong association with this event and their representative, Devil's Advocate, is another must for any shortlist given his dam was a Group 3 winner over 1m6f. However, CARMERS had this race nominated immediately after his facile success in the Yeats Stakes over 1m5f at Navan and, with the ground likely to be ideal, this unbeaten son of Wootton Bassett looks the most attractive proposition. French raider Asmarani can also go well if he handles the forecast going.

French challenger ASMARANI has acquitted himself with credit at Group level and brings unmistakable pointers to a strength in stamina.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

KING ROLY impressed when his breezed home in a three-runner event at Ffos Las most recently and a 3lb higher mark looks a readily scalable barrier here. Jet Smart has been in excellent form in point-to-points and he is one to monitor in the betting on his Rules debut. However, Jeudidee's Huntingdon success reads well in the context of this race and, as the more proven over regulation fences, he is likely to be a bigger danger to the selection.

Chasing debutant Ballytechno drops in grade but KING ROLY is already proven over fences and could still be well handicapped.

CANON'S HOUSE has proved a different proposition this year, recorded two wins from two starts, most recently scoring readily at Thirsk. The four-year-old is improving at a rapid rate of knots and he looks the one to beat again. Woohoo is seeking the four-timer after her triumph at Musselburgh earlier in the month and she holds an obvious chance. Pop Star is the pick of the remainder.

Canon's House isn't opposed lightly but BONA FORTUNA brings potential and his recent reappearance was promising.

Last year's Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Fallen Angel may have needed her sixth-placed reappearance in the Lockinge last month and she must enter calculations dropping into Group 2 company. Karl Burke's filly isn't taken lightly, but CINDERELLA'S DREAM is the more solid proposition. The daughter of Shamardal was most taking in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket 45 days ago and she may have enough class to concede 3lb to today's rivals. One Look lost little in defeat against multiple Group 1 winner Porta Fortuna at the Curragh in May and another good account is forecast, while the addition of cheekpieces may help Running Lion.

Godolphin's CINDERELLA'S DREAM made it 7-10 with her easy win in a Group 2 last month and is a major player again under a penalty.

FROMHERETOETERNITY went down fighting when she finished second at Warwick at the start of this month and were it not for landing awkwardly at the last, she could have been heading here in search of back-to-back wins. Running off just 2lb higher presents the Jennie Candlish-trained mare with a good chance of gaining some compensation this time. Vocito and Honneur D'Ajonc, who debuts for a new trainer, have respectable credentials and also warrant serious consideration.

Preference is for FROMHERETOETERNITY, who has made good progress since joining Jennie Candlish in the autumn.

Just a head separated Iris Dancer (winner) and HAVANA RUM (second) when the pair met over C&D last Wednesday. They could be closely matched once again, but with the first-named having to shoulder a 4lb penalty, it is easy to envisage that form being reversed. Dazy Mazy didn't run too badly when fourth at Newcastle in January but returning to turf should suit, and she's now 1lb lower than when on target at Doncaster in June of last year.

Course specialist IRIS DANCER (nap) may be able to confirm last week's C&D placings with Havana Rum despite the revised terms.

A high-class renewal is likely to be headed by Los Angeles, who recorded his third Group 1 success when defeating ANMAAT (second) in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last month. Typically, Aidan O'Brien is no stranger to success in this race but, although respected, Owen Burrows' talented seven-year-old can turn the tables. The son of Awtaad was seemingly going best of all two furlongs from home that day and if stepping forward from that seasonal return, he could add further success to an already stellar CV. Middleton winner See The Fire was supplemented for 70,000 pounds and is interesting receiving the fillies' allowance, while Prix Ganay runner-up Map Of Stars and the progressive Ombudsman add further spice to the race.

Los Angeles won't go down without a fight but there are candidates to outspeed him, most notably ANMAAT and Map Of Stars.

TARAHUMARA was far from disgraced when finishing third in this grade at Warwick last month and he goes off an unchanged rating. With Harry Cobden booked, the nine-year-old looks the one to beat. Handlethekettle struck in this sphere at Taunton prior to disappointing over fences at Ffos Las, but he has to be respected on his first outing in a handicap over the smaller obstacles. Whizz Kid is another to watch out for.

It might pay to give another chance to UKANTANGO, who has been given a wind op since his disappointing run at Warwick last month.

Hostelry has been in excellent form of late. On target over C&D before following up in determined fashion at Beverley three weeks ago, Ruth Carr's mare merits the utmost respect from 3lb higher. That being said, a chance can be taken on COMA CLUSTER. A good second over the extended mile at Nottingham on her handicap bow, she disappointed when sent off as favourite at Wetherby next time. Connections reach for a tongue-tie today and if that along with a drop in trip can work the oracle, she should go close. Kubey is also noted.

Some unexposed 3yos on show, notably Kubey, but SEA REGAL's latest run can be ignored and she drops in grade today.

My Cloud is two from two since competing in handicaps, most recently beating a subsequent winner by a head at Newbury, and it's easy to see why he will have his supporters. The Liffey wasn't disgraced when fourth in a Listed contest at Naas last month and that effort is likely to have put him spot on for this under Ryan Moore, but a chance can be taken on HI ROYAL. Kevin Ryan's five-year-old has plenty of class as the runner-up of the 2023 edition of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and he bounced back to form when second at Thirsk last month. This race could be perfectly run to suit and he looks the way to go.

My Cloud has very strong claims, while TONY MONTANA (nap) and Greek Order are interesting runners for Michael Bell.

AMBER WAVES has taken the silver medal home in both of her career starts and she could have lots more to offer. The daughter of Ulysses might only need to reproduce either of those runs in order to shed her maiden tag. Twirling is rated in the 90s on the Flat and goes for the Nicky Henderson team, so she is likely to be on the premises. Gordon Grey is another to keep an eye on.

Useful Flat-racer TWIRLING could be far too good for this field if she takes reasonably well to hurdling.

LEVER UP has posted two creditable efforts in defeat since entering handicaps in early April and the addition of a first-time visor may bear fruit. Mick & David Easterby's gelding looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open his account, at the main expense of Obito. The son of Blue Point was making good headway when squeezed out at Hamilton 21 days ago and he's feared most. Cymbidium is the pick of the remainder.

Having met significant interference here on his handicap debut OBITO is worth another chance.

Having finished a fine second in a Listed event over 7f at Musselburgh 11 days ago, Arolla must enter the reckoning on her handicap bow. Harry Charlton's filly looks fairly treated racing off an official rating of 100 and reverting to 1m shouldn't prevent another bold showing. However, RAINBOWS EDGE got the better of reopposing rival Arisaig over C&D last month and edges the verdict. A 5lb rise in the ratings could prove on the lenient side for the daughter of Night Of Thunder and a fourth victory in five outings may beckon. Irish raider Kayhana is also noted.

Royal runner RAINBOWS EDGE impressed when seeing off Arisaig on her C&D return and she gets the vote. Sky Safari is second pick.

Having justified favouritism to open his account over hurdles at Southwell recently, CARLTON is sure to prove a warm order to follow up. James Owen's charge scored with plenty in the tank and may make light work of a 7lb penalty. Ez Tiger ended his latest campaign with a runner-up effort at Uttoxeter and the eight-year-old may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of the lightly-raced Holy Legend.

After a very productive few months on the Flat for James Owen, CARLTON could now be set for a winning spree over hurdles.

APPLE'S ANGEL is attractively weighted from 1lb below her last winning mark and is presented with a good opportunity to get back to winning ways. With both her previous career wins gained on Polytrack, and being allotted a handy draw, the elements gel together nicely for her return to the all-weather. The less-exposed Writteninthestars has the potential to have a big say, while Ejuna appeals for a place with first-time blinkers added.

Vastly improved on last week's return, EJUNA makes appeal dropped to 5f and is taken over Writteninthestars and Apple's Angel.

There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from REDONDO's return to action when finishing a close-up second at Carlisle last month. A 2lb nudge up in the ratings could prove lenient for Daragh Bourke's inmate and he looks ready to regain the winning thread. Paper Doll did little wrong on her third-placed stable/seasonal bow at Catterick recently and the five-year-old may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of the lightly-raced Desert Of The Sea.

Several possibles but PAPER DOLL shaped well on her first run for new connections last week and she has few miles on the clock.

A wide-open contest to end proceedings on another enthralling day of racing, and only a tentative vote can go to HAVANA HURRICANE. A striking winner on his debut at Goodwood before going on to finish an excellent second in the Woodcote at Epsom, despite not appearing to be in love with the track, he brings a useful level of form to the table and might offer some value against the likes of Rogue Legend and Beverley Two Year Old Trophy winner Old Is Gold, who runs in the colours of Wathnan Racing for the first time. US raider Tough Critic should not be overlooked, while similar comments apply to the David O'Meara-trained Rogue Supremacy.

US challenger TOUGH CRITIC deserves considerable credit for winning at Keeneland and George Weaver knows what it takes to win here.

RORY ROCKET is the logical selection based on his two promising starts as a juvenile last autumn. The son of Aclaim filled the runner-up spot in both of those races, showing versatility in ground preference by adeptly switching from good to firm going to heavy. As his dam is a half-sister to a winner on all-weather, a synthetic track should also be within his compass. With first-time blinkers tried, Saguaro Blossom is an obvious threat, while Apple Of My Eye is the pick of the rest.

The most solid contender is RORY ROCKET, who finished second in his two 2yo runs and is a big player upped to 6f on his return.

Gore Point bagged his first triumph over hurdles when getting up in the shadows of the post on his handicap bow at Newton Abbot a fortnight ago. A 6lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold bid from the lightly-raced five-year-old, but STAR LEGEND may prove slightly better handicapped. The son of Galileo arrives on the back of a hat-trick on the level and a switch to this code could provide further glory. Fine Point is the pick of the remainder.

After producing a good late thrust to win on his handicap debut at fortnight ago, GORE POINT (nap) gets the vote.

Having filled the runner-up spot on both outings to date, compensation could be on the horizon for DUSKAURA. Archie Watson's filly appears to have been found a suitable opportunity to gain a breakthrough victory and she's preferred to Novelette. The daughter of Sioux Nation offered plenty of encouragement on her third-placed debut at Nottingham a fortnight ago and isn't taken lightly. Newcomer Zonnebloem is a potential fly in the ointment and market support would be interesting.

NOVELETTE bumped into a smart rival on Nottingham debut, and she's fancied to strike at the second attempt. Duskaura is next best.

A race of this nature provides TOMMYTWOHOOTS with a potential route to success and this dual all-weather winner has plenty going for him based on his peak performances. There are several dangers however, and betting market support for the likes of Due Date, Blackbrook and Milliethemollie would be based on solid foundations at this level. The first-named of that trio could be the biggest danger given his proven efficacy at this level.

2-2 in 6f classified events on Polytrack previously, DUE DATE is just preferred to the similarly down in trip Blackbrook.

Although friendless in the market, MODERN TIMES posted a respectable fourth on his stable bow in a competitive handicap at York recently. The switch to maiden company is likely to help Tim Easterby's four-year-old and he could be poised to shed his maiden tag. Pal Joey arrives on the back of a fine third at Doncaster and any further improvement is likely to see him in the thick of the action once more, along with El Madar.

MODERN TIMES had a few near misses for Iain Jardine and there were positives to take from last weekend's stable debut fourth at York.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

The further SAWGRASS went the more impressive she was when recording a 13-length success over 1m6f here recently so, with another step up in distance likely to suit, a 5lb penalty shouldn't be enough to halt Hughie Morrison's filly. Isle Of Sark went desperately close at Goodwood latest, though, and a reproduction of that performance would bring him into the mix, while it wouldn't come as any great surprise were Simiyann to bounce back having underperformed at Sandown on Saturday.

No surprise were Sawgrass to follow up last week's 1m6f romp, but ISLE OF SARK has been coming to the boil for Tony Carroll lately.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Having bounced back to form with a close-up second over 1m5f at Hamilton 13 days ago, Haptics must enter calculations in his current heart. However, a drop back in distance could leave the son of Camelot vulnerable to a speedier rival, with ODIN LEGACY edging the verdict. Richard Hannon's colt did little wrong on his latest runner-up effort over 1m2f at Lingfield and a third career victory could be imminent. The down-in-class Lord Protector is also of interest.

Given genuinely good-ground, a slight preference would be for HAPTICS who lost out narrowly in a close finish at Hamilton last time.

GOLDEN HANDSHAKE was somewhat of an eye-catching second over 1m2f at Nottingham last time, having encountered traffic problems on a couple of occasions. The son of Zarak should have plenty of room to work with in this small field, though, and if improving for a step up in trip, he should go one place better. Whatcombe has an official rating of 80 but stamina is a slight concern for him. Glint Of Light appeals most of the remaining trio.

This can go to GOLDEN HANDSKAKE, who sest a good standard on his strong-finishing second at Nottingham and is open to more progress.

Julie Camacho's three-year-old finished just over two lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot over C&D last time and he looks well placed to go one better.

Newmarket scorer MY MATE KEV (nap) remains open to further improvement and could well be capable of defying an 8lb rise in the weights.

Spoilt looks best of the rest.

SHIELAS WELL showed a lot more when only finding one too good at Nottingham earlier in the month and she was kindly dropped 1lb for that effort. If the daughter of Saxon Warrior can run to a similar level, she could be the one to beat. Jenubiyah has shown ability in her three starts in novice/maiden company and she needs to be monitored in the market on her handicap debut. French Haven is another to consider.

The extra yardage should (on pedigree) bring improvement for Jenubiyah and FRENCH HAVEN, with a marginal preference for the latter.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

MR TRICK could only manage fifth at Leicester last time, but he has been dropped 1lb and that puts him on a career-low rating. If the seven-year-old can reproduce his third at the same venue two starts ago, he could be the one to beat. Regal Glory made the frame at Windsor before finishing stone last in a classified stakes event over 1m4f here earlier in the month, but she might be worth another chance. Unification isn't ruled out either.

Most of these have plenty to prove but MR TRICK (nap) has been generally consistent this year and is a key player in this weak race.

ART OF FOX got off the mark in good style at Chelmsford six days ago and he now has a 6lb penalty to carry. Provided the son of Mehmas transfers that form to turf, he will prove hard to beat. Azucena struck in a classified stakes at Leicester earlier in the month and is an interesting contender back in a handicap. Of the remainder, Ninety Nine makes the most appeal.

The one to side with is the recent Chelmsford scorer ART OF FOX, who shouldn't be unduly troubled by a 6lb penalty.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
