5/4(+79%)
(3) King Roly 5/4, Suited by the quicker ground beaten 4l off 112 over 2m4f at Perth last time; more to come now chasing but may find this on the sharp side
Bumper/maiden winner; receiving weight off both rivals gives him a chance on chase debut.

(1) Bond Broker 10/3, In need of the experience second beaten 15l in a novice hurdle over 2m at Ludlow latest; 2-2 over hurdles prior; enjoys making it; longer trip a plus; more to come now chasing; chance in tight contest
Bumper/hurdle winner; should make a better chaser, given point background and his trainer.

Handlethekettle

1.5
6/4(+0%)
(2) Handlethekettle 6/4, Ideally suited by trip when winning a novice hurdle at Taunton by 6l last time; steadily progressive over hurdles; fast ground suits; more to come now chasing; major player
Dual hurdle winner who was highly tried once; brings plenty of potential to chasing.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

BOND BROKER was well beaten into second at Ludlow last month, but sets the standard on his chase bow with a rating of 120. Paul Nicholls has his string in fine order at present and the gelding could make it four wins from his last five outings. Handlethekettle made every yard to score easily at Taunton last month and is another to take seriously on his fencing introduction, while King Roly isn't ruled out either.

Any of the three could win but HANDLETHEKETTLE may have the most scope for improvement now sent over fences.

18/1(-29%)
(7) The Craftymaster 18/1, Comfortably held in a handicap at Goodwood last time; usually consistent stayer on AW; may not relish fast ground; usually held up; needs to prove ability on turf
Golden spell on the AW between December 2023 and March 2024; plenty to prove at present.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

DIAMAND DE VINDECY posted a personal best on the Flat when he won over 2m2f at Pontefract on his penultimate start. Given he wasn't beaten far when attempting to make all off this mark at Ripon most recently, the Robert Bevis-trained six-year-old is well worth another chance. The Craftymaster is dangerous to underestimate, while The Crafty Mole is respected back up in distance now he has a recent start under his belt.

Preference is for THE CRAFTY MOLE ahead of Diamand De Vindecy.

16/1(+0%)
(1) Raqisa 16/1, Last win was two years ago; only had one run last year; out of sorts in two starts this year; 3lbs below last winning mark, but needs more
Good chance if combination of new trip and return to Yarmouth prompts a revival.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

TWO PLUS TWO made every yard to complete a double at Bath eight days ago and should have no issues with this step back up trip. The five-year-old is in the form of his life and could prove very hard to beat. Wannabeawallaby finished fourth behind the selection at Salisbury last time and could get closer off 11lb better terms, while Principessa is one to watch in the market on her first start in a handicap on the Flat.

Judged on current form the strongest option is hat-trick seeker TWO PLUS TWO, ahead of Wannabeawallaby.

Bluebella

2.75
11/4(+63%)
(6) Bluebella 11/4, Below par fourth beaten 9l in a handicap hurdle over 2m at Lingfield latest where found little for pressure; step up in trip a plus; may contend if fit after break
Capable of a big run off this mark if revived by a change of scenery; stays this far.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Bluebella failed to justify favouritism at Lingfield when last seen, but remains on a workable mark and makes her first start for the Sam Drinkwater stable. However, SASSIFIED finished second in consecutive appearances before running too badly to be true at Exeter in December. The seven-year-old may have needed his break and can make a winning return to the fray. Kepagge completes the shortlist.

The Flying Poet is a likely improver on his handicap debut but a refreshed SASSIFIED (nap) has the form in the book.

140,000gns yearling; should have a bright future but likely to improve for this debut run.
LTO Selection:hiden content,

Charlie Appleby sends out two impeccably-bred colts and on jockey bookings TIME TO TURN looks to be the pick. However, Maximized, a 720,000 pounds breeze-up purchase, is bred to be effective as a sprinter and there is also plenty to like based on his potential. Boiling Over and Tuwajeri just a couple of other notable debutants in what should be an informative race.

It seemingly bodes extremely well for TIME TO TURN that £720,000 breeze-up buy Maximized is the apparent Godolphin second-string.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

BLENHEIM STAR justified favouritism in good style over a mile at Brighton on her most recent start and could improve for this step up in distance. The daughter of Churchill has Brandon Wilkie claiming a handy 3lb to negate her rise for that triumph and looks the one to beat again. Risen Again struck with ease over track and trip earlier in the month and holds an obvious chance, despite his 5lb penalty. Pursuit Of Truth is the pick of the remainder.

Provided the form of his C&D win is confirmed, RISEN AGAIN looks capable of following up. Pursuit Of Truth is second choice.

(3) Lady Pretender 6/1, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Newton Abbot last time; drop down in trip a plus; good mark on French form; not ruled out
Not in great form of late but she does have ability and this is a very weak race.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A lot more was expected of OBSESSEDWITHYOU when she was comfortably beaten on her chasing debut at Warwick earlier in the month. Jamie Snowden's six-year-old is likely to have learned a great deal from that experience and lurks on an appealing mark. Culligran struck over the smaller obstacles at Hereford in November and is an interesting contender on her first start over fences. Calli Black is the pick of the remainder.

In this modest a contest it's worth giving dual hurdle winner OBSESSEDWITHYOU another chance over fences.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

From a workable mark of just 68, CAPTAIN PARMA is at the top end of the ratings band and has a big chance of successfully launching his handicap career. Based on what he has shown in three starts on the all-weather, the son of Iffraaj could take all the beating if he handles the switch to turf. Similar comments apply to Volendam, whose Newcastle form is compelling, while the hat-trick seeking Trust Sergei is also feared despite going up 4lb for his latest success.

Trust Sergei is on a hat-trick and holds strong claims but preference is for THURSO (nap), who has been knocking at the door.

LTO Selection:hiden content,

Acceptance could only manage fifth on her debut at Southwell, but she could use that experience to her advantage against a host of newcomers. Even so, the vote goes to YELLOW DIAMONDS, who changed hands for 170,000gns last month and now makes her racecourse bow. The daughter of Invincible Spirit has plenty of speed in her pedigree and may be up to the task first time out. Any market confidence behind Staya or Bosh Soldier would be interesting.

Staya, Oliaku and YELLOW DIAMONDS were big-money buys at the Breeze-Up sales last month. The latter is bred to be precocious.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

ROXANNE has impressed on both starts since joining the in-form Dan Skelton stable, and this track should suit as she looks to bring up the hat-trick under a double penalty. The five-year-old may have too much pace for Sir Galahad, who arrives with similar claims having won both outings over hurdles in taking fashion. Chanelle Noir can pick up the pieces if the aforementioned pair struggle.

Both Sir Galahad and ROXANNE have plenty to recommend them as unbeaten young hurdlers and the latter gets just narrow preference.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Blue Day had Duran (second) behind when coming through the field to run out an impressive winner at Ascot last month, but this represents a step up in grade. With that in mind, HARVANNA gets the nod. Michael Appleby's filly was left with plenty to do from the rear when hitting the woodwork at Wolverhampton in December and is just 1lb higher. With a smoother run this time around, she could be one to beat.

Good cases can be made for a few of these. BLUE DAY did it nicely at Ascot three weeks ago and can make it 2-2 at 5f.

Havana Grey colt Amorim should not lack for speed and is of interest for the George Boughey team, while others to note include Peel Park and Postmodern.

NORTHERN SYMPHONIE continues to go from strength to strength and a 4lb rise for her most recent success at Chepstow may not be enough to prevent her from landing the hat-trick. A taking winner at Plumpton recently off 6lb lower, D'jo Dela Barriere may have plenty of improvement to come, while the consistent Ri Na Cuirte is another to consider as he goes in search of a first victory since last November.

Marginal preference in a tight race is for RI NA CUIRTE who came from a long way back to finish second at Chepstow.

William Buick opts for SPIRITED STYLE of the Godolphin duo after her very promising runner-up effort on debut at Ascot earlier in the month. The daughter of Sea The Stars could have any amount of improvement to come and may prove tough to beat. Her stable companion Silent Love showed plenty of ability when third on her introduction at Newmarket and has to be respected, along with Pearla.

There was 1l between PEARLA and Silent Love at Newmarket. Buick gets off the latter to ride the Ascot second Spirited Style.

A confident vote goes to CAPITAL GUARANTEE, who travelled powerfully into contention before coming clear to record a comfortable success at Thirsk on Saturday. Cian Horgan negates the penalty incurred with his handy 5lb claim and he'll be a tough nut to crack if turning up in a similar vein of form. Shaw Park was a narrow winner over this C&D recently and is respected under a penalty. Giant could also have a say in first-time blinkers.

Having won with plenty in hand five days ago, CAPITAL GUARANTEE is nicely ahead of the assessor and looks capable of following up.

This can go the way of MISS POPALONG, who caught the eye when keeping on from off the pace for third at Exeter last time out. With a more prominent ride on this occasion, she may be able to get off the mark at the main expense of Blackacre, who has been in consistent form of late without getting his head in front. Junior Des Mottes and Lucky Bounce cannot be ruled out either.

None of these are that convincing but MISS POPALONG might be mildly progressive after running respectably at Exeter.

WOROODD could be Pattern-level filly in the making going by her impressive success at Thirsk last time out, and she can take another step forward by scoring under a 7lb penalty on this occasion. A promising fourth on her first start for Ollie Sangster at Southwell last month, Cradle Of Love must enter calculations, as well as Thaisa, who is best judged on her debut third at Kempton in November.

Having won by 5l at Thirsk recently, WOROODD is taken to defy a 7lb penalty and follow up. Thaisa is second choice.

ARTIFICER chased home an in-form rival at Doncaster last month when attempting to follow up on her earlier Chelmsford triumph. Fred Daly, who was aboard for that success, claims the ride once again and she appears to hold every chance from an unchanged mark. Just a neck separated Anglo Saxson (second) and Mickey Mongoose (third) when the pair met over C&D recently and they ought to be closely matched once again.

Off a workable mark, ANGLO SAXSON (nap) is taken to record a second success in this contest. Mickey Mongoose is second choice.

Rated 111 over hurdles, MINERS BRIDGE looks nicely treated off a mark of 95. The Mahler eight-year-old has plenty of experience over the larger obstacles and won a point-to-point in his early days. He also has some solid hurdles form to his name and was successful at Killarney last summer. Fifth on his latest start in handicap company at Gowran in October, he had some decent performers in behind. The Mick Winters-trained Crowsatedappletart is already a three-time course winner and with Darragh O'Keeffe aboard, he is sure to have plenty of supporters. Winters also saddles Aleish Lass, with the six-year-old of definite interest. The winner of this race in 2023, The Eye Of Tulla warrants respect too.

CROWSATEDAPPLETART is a course specialist and he brings a nice level of recent form to the table

C&D winner; fourth of four last time but that was messy and he should do better this time.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

MEADRAM travelled strongly when scoring by a length over track and trip on his most recent start and is just 3lb higher now. Marcus Tregoning's seven-year-old remains feasibly treated off a mark of 65 and looks the way to go. Crafter has taken the silver medal home on two of his last three outings and should remain competitive, while Egoiste isn't out of it either.

Crafter will pose a threat if this track suits but MEADRAM is turning into a course specialist and can land a third C&D success.

A promising third behind a pair of subsequent winners on his return at Newmarket last month, ORGAN is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming. Martyn Meade's charge gets the vote ahead of the unexposed handicap-debutant Suhub, who was a creditable second over 1m at Kempton when last in action. Unlucky not to have got off the mark thus far, High On Hope may also have a say in proceedings.

The filly TITIAN BLUE could be just the type Mick Appleby excels with and she earns the vote on her stable debut. Suhub is feared.

Despite pulling hard, WOODHAY WHISPER went in by half a length at Chelmsford last month and may have been let off lightly with only a 2lb rise. If the three-year-old remains in similar form, she will prove hard to beat. Promise Time showed a lot more on his first start in a handicap when second at Southwell and might have more to offer, while Sun Keeper is a C&D winner to note.

The widest draw will make life tougher for Woodhay Whisper, so Nigel Tinkler's free-running PROMISE TIME (nap) receives the vote.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Point-to-point winner LOOK TO THE WEST is taken to follow up on her recent Kilbeggan success. The Henry de Bromhead-trained seven-year-old hasn't done much wrong in her career to date and could really come into her own over the larger obstacles. Sandwiched between two poor efforts, Je T'ai Porte was a fine third at Cork. Out of her depth in the Mares' Chase at Cheltenham and again well beaten when last seen in Grade 3 company at Killarney, she will appreciate this drop in class. A Law Of Her Own should be able to make her presence felt too.

LOOK TO THE WEST was very impressive when winning a beginners' chase last month and will take a lot of stopping here

GRAND DUCHESS OLGA was always doing enough when going in by a neck over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last month and the assessor may have been kind to only put her up 2lb. With a previous C&D victory to her name, she could prove hard to beat once again. Sullivan Bay made the frame at this venue when last seen on the Flat and has since undergone a wind operation, so he is one to watch out for. Stretch is next best.

Star Legend ran well over hurdles on Tuesday but the best option may be GRAND DUCHESS OLGA to follow up her Wolverhampton win.

There was just three-quarters of a length between INTELLOTTO and Jigoro when they clashed over hurdles at Cork on Easter Sunday and, off level weights now, the Joseph O'Brien-trained former is taken to reverse the form. Returning from an eight-month absence at the Mallow venue, the Lope De Vega chestnut is an interesting recruit to fences. Beaten at 4/9 when starting off over the larger obstacles at Thurles in November, Jigoro is still sure to have plenty of supporters. Encanto Bruno should be able to make an impact in a contest like this.

b\INTELLOTTO\p is chosen to finish in front on chasing debut now that he has a run under his belt

PARTICIPLE just failed by the smallest of margins when second on her debut at Salisbury last August and the daughter of Frankel may be the one to beat on that evidence. True Colors has made the frame on both of her starts, most recently at Wolverhampton, and she needs to be taken seriously. Stellenbosch sets the standard with a rating of 78 and is another to note.

Clear preference is for PARTICIPLE who ran so well on her Salisbury debut as a 2yo and looks sure to fare better with time.

KITTY FURNIVAL hasn't finished outside of the first three home on each of her four handicap starts, most recently occupying the runner-up berth at Lingfield. The four-year-old has more scope for improvement than her rivals and can continue her fine form. Sax Appeal has failed to build on his success at Southwell in February, but is now just 2lb higher and needs to be considered. Shahbaz is another to note.

This can go to KITTY FURNIVAL, who has a record of 311322 on AW and hit a personal best when a clear second at Lingfield last month.

It's difficult to be overly confident about any of these. The winner of a point-to-point and subsequently sold for 170,000 pounds, GARDE LA PECHE is the selection. A solid sixth of 17 on her penultimate start at Leopardstown over Christmas, she finished a never-nearer fourth on her most recent outing at Kilbeggan. Successful over hurdles when last seen at Listowel and Down Royal respectively, West Clare and Gustavo Goodway should also go well.

GUSTAVO GOODWAY (nap) finally got off the mark over hurdles at Down Royal last month and he looks well treated back over fences

The form of EXPLODE's debut third has worked out well and the son of Sottsass can put that experience to good use and go in at the second time of asking. Although hooded on his racecourse bow, Antipodes warrants a market check for the in-form Roger Varian stable, while the Kingman colt Mudbir, who has been off since finishing second at Newmarket on his debut in October, is another to consider.

The standout contenders are EXPLODE and Mudbir, both of whom shaped with considerable promise on their debuts.

ABSTRACT ART didn't appear to get the trip when he was tried over 1m4f at Kempton most recently and it is no surprise to see him cutting back in distance here. Freshened up by a break since January, this could be a good piece of placement by his trainer Ian Williams and a breakthrough success for the son of Far Above could be imminent. Amber Honey and Banksman are the chief threats.

Ed Dunlop's AMBER HONEY receives the nod, with a replication of either of her respectable Redcar or Kempton efforts likely good enough.

ASPUROFTHEMOMENT has built up a good body of work ahead of his first crack at racecourse fences. This point-to-point winner has landed handicap hurdles the last twice and enjoyed a step up in trip at Bellewstown. Grooveykindoflove represents a red-hot stable and has shown more than enough over hurdles to suggest she can go well on her chasing debut. There was a lot to like about the way Iceberg Theory came home for second on his chasing bow at Wexford in March.

A tricky beginners' chase but perhaps GROOVEYKINDOFLOVE can find the necessary improvement on her chase debut under Darragh O'Keeffe

COMPETIZIONE showed major improvement from first to second start when runner-up at Doncaster last time out, and stepping up to a mile can see him get off the mark for in-form connections. Gelded since his last run, Shimmering Spin has strong claims on his second over C&D two starts ago, while River King has shown up well on both starts this season at Nottingham and Doncaster.

Not a lot of depth here and it looks a good opportunity for COMPETIZIONE to build on his improved Doncaster effort and break his duck.

IGNITION, who was well backed ahead of his most recent start, could be the way to go here. Having run out of steam over 1m2f in that Lingfield event, the drop in trip here could be ideal and, eased 1lb, the three-year-old can reward any faithful supporters. Pomme Pomme is feared the most under a 6lb penalty for her win over 1m2f at Bath, while Invincible Storm and Aroof are others with each-way claims.

Pomme Pomme has race fitness on her side, but the returning IGNITION was probably an unlucky loser over C&D in February.

TIPPIN AND TAPPIN could be well treated off 87. The six-year-old Getaway gelding went off 2/5 favourite for a point-to-point at Stowlin recently and delivered by 20 lengths. There are plenty of winners in his pedigree and the in-form Darragh O'Keeffe has been booked. Cloughroe was only collared in the closing stages when runner-up at Killarney, so has to be considered, while Stellar Symphony is also noted.

KADYS DIRHA was strong in the betting at Tipperary last week and last summer's form brings the mare right into the picture

Narrowly denied at Wolverhampton last time out, SMOOTH SILESIE has been found an ideal opportunity to regain the winning thread, with Rossa Ryan taking over in the saddle. Dark Side Prince landed this contest last year off 7lb higher, and he must enter calculations once again. Twilight Madness is another with strong claims based on the pick of his form, while Colors Of Freedom completes the shortlist.

Twilight Madness is building up to something bigger but SMOOTH SILESIE (nap) made good progress in 2024 and gets the vote.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

EMERALD ARMY, who is effective on Tapeta and has won two of his last four starts, is readily suggested as the one to be with in this company. Zak Wheatley knows the four-year-old well and his 3lb claim is a useful asset. Fistral Beach and Drafted are both C&D winners who can figure prominently. However, a bigger danger could be the well-handicapped White Umbrella, who runs off 2lb below her last winning mark.

The vote goes to EMERALD ARMY, who has had a win and a close third at Thirsk this spring and is open to more progress back on AW.

Fairyhouse winner ran well in good Leopardstown handicap after; big player in this.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SAM MAGEE is a player on his return to action with Ethan O'Sullivan claiming 7lb. He won over fences on his penultimate outing at Fairyhouse and has gone well fresh before. A strong test of stamina has seen Antrim Coast to good effect, notably when runner-up over hurdles at Cheltenham and when winning a hurdle contest at Wexford almost a year ago. The Gradual Slope's fifth place in the Killarney National was a good effort and he makes some appeal as well.

SAM MAGEE has the class to defy top weight. The form of his last two handicap starts looks very strong in the context of this race

A course-and-distance winner off the same mark in February, TEMPLE BRUER could be ideally berthed in stall four to have the race unfold to suit his style of running. The in-form Combustion and Yoshimi are prime candidates to be on the front end to set things up nicely, while Thomas Equinas is another speedy type that can cause the selection problems. Forever Noah and Safari Dream are others to note.

Safari Dream is unpenalised for Salisbury and Oisin Murphy takes over but COMBUSTION may still be progressing and can win again.

DILIGENT HENRY looks the one to beat if bouncing back to the form that saw him score comfortably over C&D on his penultimate outing. The four-year-old has a strong record here and may have too much for Triggered, who has strong claims if bouncing back to the form of his penultimate second at Chelmsford. Capuchinero and Darbucks are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Darbucks is respected but Diligent Henry is taken to add to his C&D win and double his tally.

Dropping back down in trip from an extended mile to 7f was instrumental in Bizarre Law winning at Wolverhampton 10 days ago and he commands respect under a 5lb penalty. However, KRANJCAR's form figures since returning from wind surgery are more inspiring and the George Boughey-trained four-year-old shades preference based on his proven reliability. Due Date and Heerathetrack are others to consider.

Proven on Polytrack, and the manner of his win at Wolverhampton last time suggests that BIZARRE LAW can successfully defy a penalty.

The suggestion is DREAM ILLUSION on the back of a career-best effort when second over C&D earlier in the month. A 1lb rise could prove lenient and Karl Burke's charge could have enough to see off Sibyl Charm, who has been in consistent form without getting her head in front since undergoing wind surgery. Runner-up at Southwell last time out, Enchanted Way is another to note, as well as Ornately.

Ornately is respected but MAIDS HEAD shaped well here over 6f last time and will appreciate the return to this trip.

About U.K Horse Racing

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.

There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.

The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.

Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.

In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.

Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
