(7) Monica's Lad 20/1, Had benefited for debut experience beaten 6l in a maiden at Redcar last time; top course trainer; lot to find
Modest form in a couple of maidens and may do better once he goes handicapping..
LTO Selection:

DAPPER CHARM has become a little frustrating to follow with three second places in a row, the latest when beaten half a length at Windsor over this trip. However, this may be his best opportunity yet returning to a class 5 and he is hard to oppose. Jungle Knight is a noteworthy newcomer with the booking of Paul Mulrennan catching the eye, while Monica's Lad could take another forward step.

Preference is for DAPPER CHARM who has been unfortunate not to collect already. He may be chased home by Jack Rabbit Slims.

(7) Dogged 33/1, Yet to finish better than seventh since changing to this yard; well beaten in a handicap at Leicester latest; generally out of form at present; 15lb's below his last winning mark; fair bit to find here
Regressive veteran who was well beaten on both starts for new stable last month.
LTO Selection:

GALACTIC GLOW was only beaten a length into second at Bath earlier in the month and the assessor may have been kind to leave his mark alone for that effort. If the eight-year-old remains in similar form, he could be the one to beat. Apodictique makes her first start for the Moore's stable and warrants a market check on her return from a long absence. Last-time-out winner Blue Yonder is another to consider.

There may still be more to come from ONE MILLION DREAMS, who caught the eye making good headway on last month's handicap debut.

66/1(+0%)
(12) Max Stripes 66/1, Wide trip beaten 8 1/4l in a handicap over 7f at Chepstow last time; down in trip; needs to improve to defy even this basement mark
0-10; below-form seventh at Chepstow 17 days ago; he's very hard to make a case for.
LTO Selection:

Miss Rainbow is looking for her hat-trick and is hard to ignore, despite carrying a 5lb penalty for a neck success at Catterick, but she will need to improve again to win this. CITY CAPTAIN looked as if he didn't see out the seventh furlong at Chelmsford when second but is better judged on his Pontefract victory over this trip and he could get back to winning ways. Ishe Worth Agamble is another to consider after his comfortable Doncaster success.

Harriet Bethell's CITY CAPTAIN (nap) is firmly on the up and can resume winning ways here on the back of an excellent Chelmsford second

14/1(+0%)
(3) Carefree Dream 14/1, 7 length fourth in a maiden over 5 furlong here on racecourse debut; up in trip here; has a bit of speed in the family; could go well with the racecourse experience under her belt
Bred to be a speedy 2yo but showed only minor promise here (5f) on recent debut.
LTO Selection:

Sunshine And Roses showed ability when fifth on her debut at Chelmsford earlier in the month and she could put that experience to good use. Piazza was sent off favourite for her racecourse bow but finished last of four at Salisbury. Therefore, the vote goes to BOSA NOVA, who changed hands for 100,000 pounds as a yearling and is a well-bred daughter of Churchill. This looks a winnable event and she could make an instant impression.

Jack Channon's SUNSHINE AND ROSES made good headway on her recent debut and is taken to deliver on that promise.

Beat one at Wolver 20 days ago; could do better now up markedly in trip for handicap debut.
LTO Selection:

In a race where the majority arrive with something to prove, it may pay to stick with AGATHON, who has come home in the first three on his last five starts and won on his only previous visit to this track when scoring by three-quarters of a length in May. He does need a career-best off this mark, but looks the most reliable of these. Fast Fred drops in class after a neck second at Thirsk and rates a serious rival, while Simon West has his horses in good form making dual hurdle winner Fabuleux Du Clos worthy of consideration.

Phillip Makin has his string in good nick and FAST FRED can build on an excellent recent second at Thirsk and get off the mark for 2025

(3) Al Mudhaffar 15/2, Well below form when down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; generally out of form at the moment; needs his perfect ground conditions; significant jockey booking; off a short 78 day break; bit to find with regards to form here
Ended 2024 with two disappointing AW runs and was well beaten on turf return in March.
LTO Selection:

ROMANOVICH made every yard of the running to go in by just under a length over 7f here last time and is just 4lb higher. John O'Shea's charge should have no issues with this extra furlong and he can complete a double. Diddy Man failed to supplement his Wolverhampton success when third at Nottingham last time, but that was still a good effort and he has to be respected. Onslow Gardens looks best of the rest.

It might be worth chancing class-dropper GREAT BLASKET, who needs to better his recent efforts but is on a very good mark now.

0-31; placed nine times; on a good mark but well beaten after a break last time (1m4f).
LTO Selection:

Arkenstaar could only manage fourth at Hamilton on his most recent start, but he was dropped 2lb for that effort and lurks on an appealing mark. Even so, BELTANE looks the way to go. Mark Walford's six-year-old stumbled leaving the stalls and ran too badly to be true when well beaten in a stronger event at Hamilton last time. This drop in grade, along with a 2lb lower rating, makes him the one to beat. Blufferonthebus completes the shortlist.

Soft ground is ideal for BLUFFERONTHEBUS, who is taken to get off the mark for the season by beating Beltane and Arkenstaar.

Below form on last couple of outings but went close over C&D just over one month ago.
LTO Selection:

CONNIE'S ROSE has a good record here with six course wins, the latest of which was in September off 5lb higher. She steps back up to 6f after a seventh here last month, and could get back to winning ways. Ballybaymoonshiner has yet to win on turf but sits at the bottom of the weights despite a win at Chelmsford last month and 3lb more may not stop him from going close, while Papabella could surprise a few.

Preference is for PAPABELLA (nap), who has returned in good form this spring and could still have a bit more improvement to come.

Dual 6f winner for Kevin Ryan in 2023; bit disappointing since; plenty to prove.
LTO Selection:

BELLASIO has filled the runner-up spot at Hamilton the last twice and goes off the same rating. Grant Tuer's four-year-old makes only his fifth handicap start and could take a step forward to score. Ey Up Its Jazz struck at Redcar prior to disappointing in a class 4 handicap at Doncaster when last seen and is an interesting contender on his return to the fray. Copper And Five is the pick of the remainder.

With the testing ground a concern for the in-form Bellasio, the vote goes to COPPER AND FIVE despite a below-par run last time.

(9) We're Reunited 15/2, Beaten into fourth by a length at Chepstow last time out; not won since June 2022; currently operating off a career low mark; sliding down the weights with each passing run; best watched here given his current form
Ran well when fourth over C&D last month but remains without a win since 2022.
LTO Selection:

Gherkin could go close if he improves after weakening late on at Leicester on his first start since November. However, ENDOWED did well after stumbling at the start to finish third at Redcar off this mark recently and he is clearly well handicapped if he can get back to anything like his best form. Professor Tickle also makes the shortlist after his neck second at Brighton last month.

The most interesting runner is arguably MIDNIGHT CALL, who belied 100-1 odds when running well on his stable/handicap debut.

LTO Selection:

EMILY LOVE has been running consistently well and is suited by conditions. Having won comfortably over similar distances at both Limerick and Perth on recent runs, she will benefit from her riders' 5lb claim and is suited by today's likely sound surface. Stablemate Gers Gigi receives 6lb (including jockey claims) from the selection and ran well when second at Listowel (Jane Eire third) last month. She has been raised 7lb for that effort and is a strong contender. Adela Icon has been well held on recent runs, while Derryville steps up having won a recent maiden.

Although DERRYVILLE is the least experienced hurdler among the five winners, she has a strong claim on her bumper form

(8) No Nay Nevermind 33/1, Yard won this last year; slowly away beaten 8l in a handicap over 6f at Hamilton last time; not proven trip; yet to fire in handicaps; risky
Fourth in a 6f novice on soft here in 2024; disappointing in handicaps this season.
LTO Selection:

DREAM ILLUSION failed to see out the extended mile at Nottingham last time, having won over today's distance at Wolverhampton before that. Karl Burke's filly is only 1lb higher and looks worth another chance back over her optimum trip. Haydock third Volendam will likely improve on only her second start handicapping, but the main threat could come from one the handicap debutants, with Catterick fourth Dorothy May preferred to Lastchancezouloon.

Although not at her best this season SUZETTE won a soft-ground nursery over C&D last term so gets the vote ahead of Volendam.

AW winner in March; ran okay on slower-than-ideal ground over C&D last week.
LTO Selection:

Alexandra Dunn has won two of the four renewals of this race, suggesting recent C&D winner Anticipating can have a big say off 3lb higher. That said, BEAMING LIGHT seems to have improved considerably since moving to the David Loughnane yard, with a second at Wolverhampton followed by a win at Chelmsford over this trip. If he can repeat that on turf, then a 5lb penalty may not be enough to stop him. Fact Or Fable has won here four times and is another to take seriously.

It's hard to get away from BEAMING LIGHT, who can overcome the 5lb penalty he carries for his comfortable AW win on Thursday.

(11) Three County Star 200/1, Down the field in a maiden hurdle at Listowel most recent; yet to show much; difficult to fancy
Soon detached after an early error at Cork, struggled again at Listowel, can be ruled out.
LTO Selection:

BANNOW BLAZE represents a yard which has an excellent record with point-to-pointers and notably attracted strong market support at this course last month, only to exit at the second jump. He showed ability when falling on debut, performed satisfactorily behind top novice Kopek Des Bordes during Christmas and, while the cat was let out of the bag by last month's early exit, he can score today instead. Cocovic has been well enough held in two maiden hurdles runs this year but won a good-ground point-to-point in May 2024. Rhythmic Tune was beaten long distances in two May maidens but, most recently, shaped with some promise at Listowel.

There was good support for BANNOW BLAZE (nap) over C&D on his handicap debut and he may now make amends for an early exit

LTO Selection:

DISTINCTION returned to something like his best when scoring easily over 1m2f at Pontefract a week ago. The son of Kodiac remains on a winning mark, despite carrying 4lb extra, and will be perfectly at home on the likely soft ground. Poet's Dawn won on soft going here last term and recent placed efforts suggest he could be thereabouts at the finish, while Hamilton winner Swift Salian also merits consideration.

This looks a good opportunity for POET'S DAWN to win his first race of the year at the chief expense of Distinction.

(13) Hob's Angel 11/1, Keen, travelled, ran to form just tiring late in strongly run race beaten 3l off 77 over 2m3f at Limerick last time; usually held up; not proven trip; probably bit to come if stamina holds up
Has been showing fair form over shorter trips, overall form introduces stamina doubts.
LTO Selection:

JOE'S TURN has been running consistently well recently and is suited by conditions. Successful in his initial two point-to-points back in 2022, he has found his niche competing in staying summer races and, while raised 4lb following a recent runner-up effort, his rating is still 1lb below his chase mark and he has obvious claims today. Run For Cover's chances are less evident and she returns following a 112-day layoff, but she shaped nicely in a Punchestown handicap in February and is interesting stepping up in distance. Eight-year-old Tropical Image showed improvement when finishing second to an easy winner at Sligo recently and competes from the same rating.

An aggregate 10lb rise for his last two runs may not overburden JOE'S TURN, a C&D winner who handles an ease in the ground.

The least solid contender on form; second run for new yard.
LTO Selection:

BRETTON WOOD shaped with promise when third at Lingfield on his seasonal return/stable debut recently, an effort for which he was subsequently eased 1lb in the handicap. The son of Frankel faces a marginally easier task here and he is expected to take a step forward. Toolatetonegotiate (third) and Hello Luna (fourth) met at Lingfield last month and the pair can be thereabouts once again.

At the scene of his dam's win, turf debutant EM FOUR looks particularly interesting. Bretton Wood is second picik.

LTO Selection:

SUMMER HEAT showed plenty of promise when fourth on her Kempton debut over 7f, despite pulling hard and racing green. She ran on well under hands and heels once the penny dropped to be beaten two and a half lengths at the line and ought to have learnt plenty from that experience. Nuptown Girl is interesting in a first-time hood and she may try to make all dropping back in trip, leaving newcomers Ferrari Gold and Exposay ones to watch first time out.

This is a tight call between Model Yuko and SUMMER HEAT, but Godolphin's filly gets the vote on her step up in trip.

LTO Selection:

TACKLETOMMYWOOWOO was narrowly beaten on his first attempt over a staying distance last month and might defy top-weight. A half-brother to Redwood Queen, the selection showed initial promise in the UK last year and seemed to have found his level racing over these staying trips at Listowel, when failing by a half-length in a big-field handicap. Another five-year-old Southgate Avenue showed improved form at Limerick recently and, while a little more exposed than the selection, he should again compete. Arnacoeur benefitted from stepping up to staying distances when winning at Wexford last month and can also compete from 5lb higher.

Ciaran Gethings has a good chance on KINGKONG CIERGUES who has fair form over 2m4f in testing conditions and should stay this far

LTO Selection:

Fourth when a beaten favourite on debut before going on to fill the runner-up spot at Chelmsford next time, OUR CODY sets a clear form standard and could be difficult to beat if finding any further progress. This isn't as competitive as the York novice Beach Partee contested on his racecourse bow so it would come as no great surprise were he to show more, while others to note include Miss Apres and newcomer Highlighting.

The Verdict comprises the form pick OUR CODY and interesting debutante Highlighting.

(11) Chef De Troupe 40/1, Below par down the field in a handicap here most recent; generally out of form in both codes; bit to find
Well into the veteran stage and he's been well held over C&D in his two runs this season.
LTO Selection:

Abraaj could do a lot better on his second start following wind surgery and, although well beaten at Kempton last month, he does have a win over 2m at Kempton off 4lb higher this time last year to call upon. Star Delta enters calculations after running on over 1m6f at Chelmsford, but QUEENSLAND BOY gets the vote. A C&D win in May was followed by a victory over 2m at Lingfield and an 8lb hike from the handicapper may not be enough to stop the hat-trick.

Top of the list is the resurgent QUEENSLAND BOY, who has won in emphatic style over C&D and at Lingfield in his last two starts.

LTO Selection:

I LOVE MY BAIE ran with credit when last seen at the Punchestown Festival. A four-time winner and Grade 2-placed in 2023, the selection would have finished closer at Punchestown only for meeting trouble in running in that big-field handicap and today's rider claims 5lb. Straight Home has graduated to staying distances recently and should be suited by this extra yardage. Better suited by racing right-handed, she met trouble in running at Ballinrobe last month before finishing well and, while raised 1lb, today's less-experienced rider claims 5lb. Topgun Simmy has a similar profile being a consistent and capable stayer. He likes a sound surface, ran well at Haydock last month and his rider again claims 7lb.

With a clear run STRAIGHT HOME would have undoubtedly gone closer at Ballinrobe last time and could now be ready for this step up to 3m

LTO Selection:

River King sets the standard with an official rating of 85 and is entitled to go close given the level of his recent performances, but it might be worth taking a chance on ROGUE IDENTITY. Not seen since finishing fourth when sent off favourite on his debut in October, the Lope De Vega colt should have more to come upped two furlongs and sent onto the grass. Life Is Rosie can chase the pair home.

River King and Life Is Rosie bring the best form, while ROGUE IDENTITY and Masolar are likely to show improvement.

LTO Selection:

Triggered is heading towards the veteran stage at the age of nine but showed he may have an eighth win in him when second over course and distance last time. He could challenge for the places, but SNOOZE LANE gets the vote. Second over further recently and showing signs of a return to form, he was only beaten three-quarters of a length over C&D last October and races off 7lb lower tonight. Macarone intrigues stepping up in trip on his first start for Ivan Furtado, with the booking of Silvestre De Sousa an eye-catching one.

The vote goes to the well-handicapped ROGUE THUNDER, who didn't get much luck when an eyecatching fourth over C&D last month.

LTO Selection:

Cheltenham Festival runner-up ANYWAY reappears wearing a first-time tongue-tie and can score, en route possibly to the Galway Plate. He improved his hurdle rating to 135 with a smart Killarney success last August and since finished a fine second in March's Golden Miller Handicap Chase (for novices). Suited by nice ground and this distance, he should take all the beating. You Oughta Know exited at the second fence on chase debut last month and, while capable, lacks the selection's experience and is rated slightly lower at 130 over hurdles. Harsh flopped at Tipperary last month, where Maidenstreetprince took a final-fence fall.

LTO Selection:

A progressive sprinter last year, DURHAM CASTLE's victory at Doncaster in September could hardly worked out any better, given he beat several subsequent winners by three lengths. He will be sharper for last month's reappearance at Haydock, and the son of Havana Grey is taken to resume winning ways at the main expense of Amazonian Dream. The latter has won three times here and has eased to a tempting mark, while Newbury winner Havanagreattime could also feature.

Lightly raced DURHAM CASTLE (nap) is taken to resume his progress and record a third success. Stanley Spencer is second choice.

LTO Selection:

On target at Chepstow before following up under Jack Nicholls in comfortable fashion at Southwell latest, STREET LIFE remains competitively treated from 6lb higher and he is fancied to complete the hat-trick. Colors Of Freedom finished fourth in that same contest 16 days ago but she's 9lb better off tonight so could close the gap. That being said, Candy Warhol and Newcastle classified victor Shatin Venture might present more of a threat.

Top of the list is STREET LIFE (nap), who has won his last two starts including a dominant display at Southwell last month.

LTO Selection:

ASHDALE BOB won a course beginners chase last June before scoring at the Galway Festival and now returns following a break. Once a high-class staying hurdler and a runner-up in three Grade 1's, he was well held when last seen in a Kempton Grade 2 chase in February but has been freshened up since and drops in grade here. Marv Michael is a dual course winner who returned from a 202-day winter break to win here last month. He has been raised 11lb following his easy recent success, although today's rider claims 7lb. Stablemate Le Coq Hardi was Listed-placed over hurdles last July and, while well held at Ballinrobe last month, he contests his first handicap chase.

Unbeaten in his two visits here over fences, MARV MICHAEL can score again here with Ethan O'Sullivan claiming a valuable 7lb

Won twice on AW last year but has struggled in handicaps this term..
LTO Selection:

Peter The Wolf is likely to prove competitive off the back of a solid third at Leicester, while The Quiet Gent remains unexposed and is a likely improver returning to this longer trip. However, DON PACIFICO, a winner on the all-weather, was having his first outing on turf when a resolute second at Haydock last month. The third has subsequently franked that form and a bold bid is anticipated from Simon & Ed Crisford's colt.

The strongest form may be that of DON PACIFICO who was a solid second at Haydock last time. The main danger is The Quiet Gent.

LTO Selection:

It looks best to side with INQUISITION, who struck the woodwork when pitched into handicaps for the first time at Yarmouth on Thursday. Stepping up in trip ought to suit James Fanshawe's charge and she is expected to gain compensation. Paragon continues to knock at the door and is unlikely to be far away, although Sea The Moon filly Karakula is a more attractive proposition on her handicap bow.

Both Paragon and INQUISITION finished runner-up on Thursday and slight preference is for James Fanshawe's filly.

LTO Selection:

JISCO DU BREM is lightly raced but showed nice ability on his return at Ballinrobe last month. French-bred and related to plenty of winners, he was a heavily-backed favourite for his Wexford debut last July but disappointed and returned with mucus in his trachea. Absent for 306 days prior to his Ballinrobe return, he chased home a capable winner then and showed nice ability to finish five lengths ahead of a 110-rated hurdler in third, with today's rival Rosie's Wings in fifth. Experienced Times A Wastin has run well twice recently, while Takenasred ran nicely over hurdles at Fairyhouse in April.

JISCO DU BREM came up against a potentially smart sort at Ballinrobe and can go one better here

LTO Selection:

TOP OF THE CLASS was denied by a short head into second at Kempton last month and she only has a 1lb higher mark to contend with. Oj Lifestyle was last of five at Brighton on his return to action, but he is 1lb lower and the five-year-old could bounce back. Of the remainder, previous C&D winner Thyer makes the most appeal.

Preference is for TOP OF THE CLASS who arrives in top form and can gain a first turf win with her Kempton second proving very solid form

(10) Gorgeous Mr George , Ran to form beaten a nose off 54 at Yarmouth last time; wide draw; consistent; proven on the surface; big chance off light weight
0-8 but he went very close at Yarmouth on Thursday; major player again off same mark.
LTO Selection:

FANCY DANCER made a successful switch to handicaps when able to record a narrow win over C&D last month and, with the potential of more to come, a 5lb rise should not be any barrier to further success. That being said, White Umbrella, who struck over 7f here latest, should not be underestimated, while Sirius White and Gorgeous Mr George are just two others to consider.

Plenty of have possibilities but the vote goes to the unexposed FANCY DANCER, who scored on her handicap debut over C&D last month.

Ran his best race to date when sixth of 13 in a similar contest at Lingfield 13 days ago..
LTO Selection:

ALL COST showed a lot more when filling the runner-up berth in a class 6 handicap at Chepstow last month and he now makes his first start at this level. The son of Iffraaj is unexposed over this distance and he looks the one to beat. Nasim occupied the runner-up berth in this class at Lingfield two starts ago and if he can reproduce that level of form, he could have a say. Invincible Navy is another to keep an eye on.

The 3yos may dominate here and this looks a decent opportunity for ALL COST to get off the mark. The main danger is Zero Zero.
