17/2(-42%) | (5) Drumstick 17/2, Ran to form beaten 2l off 67 at Kempton last time where forced wide; fair mark on best AW form; can get involved Maiden who has frame possibilities, provided his AW form is transferred back to turf. |
NEWFANGLED shades the verdict in what looks a tricky apprentice handicap to kick things off. Although yet to win on turf, the four-year-old has run well in defeat on numerous occasions and recent all-weather performances suggest that he has gone to a new level since last running on this surface. My Ambition brings winning C&D form to the table and he warrants respect following a narrow defeat in 0-80 company at Bath. Drumstick and Windsor Pass are others to keep an eye on.
The vote goes to MY AMBITION (nap), who is the sole course winner in the field and looks like he's about to hit peak form.

33/1(-106%) | (8) Secret Hideaway 33/1, Runner-up beaten 4 1/2l in a novice at Ripon only start; needs to come on significantly from that effort; difficult to fancy Encouraging 2nd on debut at Ripon but no match for winner; others have much stronger form. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) ![]() Saucy Jane |
15/2(-25%) | (7) Saucy Jane 15/2, Game when making all to win a maiden at Beverley by 5l last time; pleasing debut prior; in the mix Impressive at Beverley on her second start and she could be in the mix. |

8th (1) ![]() Alaskan Light |
22/1(-100%) | (1) Alaskan Light 22/1, Yard has won 2 of last 3 runnings of race; made a promising debut just last week when runner-up beaten 2l in a maiden at Ripon only start; could contend Runner-up at Ripon; Love Olivia looks the yard's chief hope, but not ruled out each-way. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) ![]() Guernsey Lady |
40/1(-100%) | (4) Guernsey Lady 40/1, Followed up solid debut with 3l third in a novice at Goodwood most recent run; should show further improvement but this a good bit tougher; hard to recommend Has made the frame on both runs; trainer won this in 2014 and 2019 but improvement needed. |
A whole host of potential improvers with bright futures ahead of them, but the vote goes to LOVE OLIVIA. Karl Burke's filly made light work of her opposition on her introduction at Wolverhampton last month and she is clearly held in high regard at Spigot Lodge. The biggest threat may emerge from Harry's Girl, who displayed a willing attitude to score at Newmarket. Fellow debut winners Eternal Solace and Awraad add further spice to the mix.
Karl Burke won this in 2022 and 2023, and saddled last year's second, and LOVE OLIVIA earns the vote having bolted up at Wolverhampton.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) ![]() Onemorenomore |
5/2(+25%) | (1) Onemorenomore 5/2, Ran to form beaten 4l off 72 at Doncaster last time off career high mark; 7f suits well; best with cut; in the mix Arrives here in pretty good form and this is a drop in grade from Doncaster last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) ![]() Hold The Press |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Hold The Press 100/1, Below par well beaten in a classified race over 8f at Brighton latest in June; struggled twice prior; returning from long layoff; needs huge upturn, best look elsewhere Returs from an absence with lots to prove and he's 7lb out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) ![]() Basharat |
100/1(-100%) | (8) Basharat 100/1, Below par beaten 6l in a classified race over 6f at Thirsk last time in August; returning from long layoff; has had issues with just three runs between May 2022 and August 2024, lot to do Limited to four races since only career win over 6f in September 2021; 5lb wrong. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) ![]() Nammos |
3/1(+45%) | (3) Nammos 3/1, Did not get a clear run beaten 5 1/4l in a handicap at Chelmsford last time on 2nd run this year; turf form on par with AW; yet to fire this term but in the mix on autumn/winter form Disappointing the last twice at Chelmsford and she has a good record there; 0-8 on turf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) ![]() Spanish Mane |
22/1(-10%) | (5) Spanish Mane 22/1, Looked unenthusiastic down the field in a handicap at Doncaster most recent; conditions suit; can bounce back, bang in the mix Ran poorly at Doncaster after going close at Yarmouth (7f, good) under Chloe Lyons. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) ![]() Zina Colada |
18/1(+0%) | (7) Zina Colada 18/1, Below par beaten 2 1/4l off 46 at Yarmouth last time off a break; 7f suits; lost way, bit better latest but still not found level Fair fourth last time but inconsistent and is 5lb higher here (out of the weights). |
STRATOCRACY has made the frame on both starts since scoring over a mile at Southwell in October and it would be no surprise to see him return to winning ways in this company. Onemorenomore showed promise when sixth at Doncaster most recently and has to be noted off a 2lb lower mark, while Split Elevens and Zina Colada are others who merit consideration.
Perhaps STRATOCRACY is the safest option and his prominent tactics will be well suited to the Rowley Mile.

![]() Gloucestershire |
(2) 16/1(+60%) | (2) Gloucestershire 16/1, Raced freely beaten 2l off 88 over 11f at Southwell last time; down in trip; yet to add to debut win; risky Fairly consistent but hasn't won for over three years. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Prometeo |
(5) 16/1(-100%) | (5) Prometeo 16/1, Weak in the market when landing a handicap by a nose off 83 over 11f at Southwell last time completing hat trick; down in trip; should show some improvement but needs to back from break Ended his 2024 campaign with a hat-trick; this progressive sort is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Eagle Day |
(8) 66/1(-164%) | (8) Eagle Day 66/1, Wide trip beaten 1l off 83 over 9f at Wolverhampton last time; better form on AW; vulnerable to improver Has much better strike-rate on AW than on turf and is on a difficult mark. |
A whole host of these look to hold claims, so BEAULD AS BRASS receives what can only be a tentative vote. This undeniably represents a step up in class for George Baker's charge but he looks to be improving all the time. With four wins under his belt in little over three weeks, the five-year-old arrives razor-sharp in terms of fitness and could take another step forward to land his biggest pot to date. Sweet Reward struck over C&D on his seasonal return and must enter calculations off a 5lb higher mark, while Sovereign Sea, Burrito and Expert Witness add further spice to the race.
Preference is for INTO BATTLE, who has a highly notable piece of C&D form and whose reappearance effort can be marked up.

![]() Tony Montana |
(3) 11/2(+0%) | (3) Tony Montana 11/2, Ran to form beaten 2l off 94 at Goodwood last time; showed excellent form over 1m2f last term; contender, but lifetime best required Has run well over C&D; good 2nd to unexposed sort on reappearance at Goodwood 13 days ago. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Financer |
(13) 16/1(+0%) | (13) Financer 16/1, Ran to form second beaten 5l in a handicap at Ripon latest; all three wins at double figure odds last term; tough ask back up in grade and looks yards 2nd strong on jockey bookings Three 1m2f wins on good/good to firm last season and respectable second on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Westerton |
(6) 25/1(+0%) | (6) Westerton 25/1, Probably needed race beaten 6 1/4l in a handicap at Goodwood last time; top course jockey; probably bit to come, but just the 1 win from 15 starts on flat Sole win (18 races) remains a maiden in 2023; reappearance suggests all hope is not lost. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Man Of Desert |
(12) 28/1(+0%) | (12) Man Of Desert 28/1, Suited by fast ground a length third in a maiden over 8f at Yarmouth most recent run; up in trip for the first time over 1m2f; bit to prove In warm race for handicap debut but he has potential, for sure, and 1m2f is likely to help. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Debora's Dream |
(9) 20/1(+39%) | (9) Debora's Dream 20/1, Ran to form beaten 3 1/4l off 86 at Chester last time; all wins have come over shorter; bit to find at this level Ran on nicely from a poor position when sixth of 14 at Chester (1m2f, good) eight days ago. |
Having signed off his last campaign with a triumph at Sandown, Flying Frontier likely has more to offer this year. However, the lack of a recent run and 2lb nudge up the ratings does demand more from James Tate's charge and TONY MONTANA ticks more of the right boxes. The son of Kingman arrives on the back of a good second at Goodwood and a 2lb higher mark looks workable on this second outing of the season. Have Secret and Austrian Theory are others to consider.
Extremely competitive but BINT AL DAAR gets the vote ahead of Debora's Dream and Tony Montana. Man Of Desert is fascinating.

![]() Sunshine Mag |
(7) 20/1(+0%) | (7) Sunshine Mag 20/1, 4l fourth in a novice over 7f at Southwell first-time out; up in trip, should suit; each way claims given usual rates of improvement Had no excuses from a good position at Southwell (7f; 10-1) and this looks a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Formidable Don |
(4) 33/1(+0%) | (4) Formidable Don 33/1, 6,000gns Waldgeist colt; dam moderate at 7f at 2yo; tough task on debut, market best guide 6,000gns yearling; third foal; dam unplaced 7f-1m6f (RPR 46); likely to be outclassed. |
BEDOUIN PRINCE confirmed the promise that he displayed on debut when winning at Doncaster in March and Charlie Appleby's colt is clearly the one to beat on that evidence, despite a penalty. Noble Horizon displayed ability when fourth on his racecourse bow at Kempton in December and the well-bred son of Kingman should not be underestimated. Any market support for Favorite Memory would also have to be noted.
There are some reservations about Bedouin Prince being able to defy a penalty so a chance is taken on once-raced NOBLE HORIZON.

Secret Santa and French Affair probably ran to a similar level on debut and both are respected with that experience under their belts, but there are a number of interesting newcomers here and WORDS OF TRUTH might prove the one. Charlie Appleby is often the go-to man in these juvenile races and his representative in this contest is certainly bred to have plenty of ability, being a half-brother to last year's Superlative Stakes winner Ancient Truth. Title Role cost 500,000gns at the recent Breeze-Ups and is worth a market check at the very least, along with Morris Dancer and Commander's Intent.
There are several interesting types among the newcomers, most notably WORDS OF TRUTH, Title Role, Humidity and Lohoobb.

![]() Elsie's Ruan |
(3) 28/1(-75%) | (3) Elsie's Ruan 28/1, Below par down the field in May Hill Stakes (Group 2) at Doncaster most recent; in good form prior; winner here on debut; more needed Disappointing on final 2yo run but not ruled out each-way in view of her previous promise. |
Unbeaten duo Glittering Surf and Kon Tiki share similar profiles stepping up in class and neither can be dismissed in an open affair. However, there is a sneaking suspicion that we've yet to see GULYA fulfil her potential and she could be worth chancing. Roger Varian's filly endured a luckless passage when denied by a short head at Ascot last month and, granted better luck, compensation could be on the cards.
The unbeaten GLITTERING SURF looks a very smart prospect and she can take the rise in grade in her stride. Consecrated is feared.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Twirler |
(1) 25/1(+0%) | (1) Twirler 25/1, Probably needed race beaten 4 1/2l in a handicap at Kempton last time but showed signs of rediscovering form; poor both turf runs; bit to prove on turf but each way claims on AW form Dual winner for Charlie Fellowes but hasn't got a lot going for her current yard. |
SIXTEEN ONE did not appear to get home over 1m2f last time but her previous form over a mile suggests that George Boughey's filly could make a winning handicap debut here. Zaraquelle and Manyana Blue are others who are likely to benefit from a drop in trip and neither should be discounted. The application of a first-time visor may bring about some improvement from Hot Like Me.
If there is an improver on the premises then it could be ZARAQUELLE. She either failed to stay or needed the run on her return.

A taking winner on debut at Thirsk last month, the well-bred MONTPELLIER is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming, and he can follow up under a 7lb penalty with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle. Narrowly denied at Doncaster last time out, Sea Force can follow him home for in-form connections, along with Abundance, who could be better suited by dropping back to 7f after a respectable third over further at Windsor.
Doncaster runner-up SEA FORCE has a leading chance at the weights and is taken to go one better. Montpellier is feared most.

(1) 5/4(+9%) | (1) Rebel's Romance 5/4, Winner of seven G1s; fourth beaten 3 1/4l in Dubai Sheema Classic (Group 1) over 12f at Meydan latest; up in trip; the pick on balance of form High class; big question is the trip as this 7yo is unraced beyond 1m4f. |
The globetrotting Rebel's Romance has only tasted defeat once on these shores - in last year's King George - and he ought to go very close if seeing out the trip. With stamina proven, though, SWEET WILLIAM is taken to come out on top. Last seen chasing home outstanding stayer Kyprios in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot on Champions Day, the Gosdens' gelding can pick up where he left off to set up a tilt at the Gold Cup. Continuous is a class act on his day and first-time blinkers could give him an added boost.
There are major tactical imponderables but the back-to-form EPIC POET put up a bold show in a very tactical race for the Dubai Gold Cup.

![]() King's Courtier |
(10) 28/1(0%) | (10) King's Courtier 28/1, 10 Mar; 8,000gns Bated Breath colt; full-brother to Al Hussar, very useful at 5f; tough task on debut, market can guide 8,000gns yearling; sixth foal; brother to 5f 2yo winner Al Hussar (RPR 87). |
LOGI BEAR has shown promise on both career starts to date, with a third at Leicester followed by him filling the runner-up spot at Goodwood, and Richard Hannon's colt has a fine opportunity to shed his maiden tag. Somebody is better than his latest effort at Chester and is capable of being in the mix, along with Faithful Dream, who is entitled to step forward from his debut at Beverley.
Some interesting newcomers on show but LOGI BEAR\ has shown useful form and the benefit of two races under his belt.

INDIAN SPRINGS impressed on his first start as a three-year-old when scoring at Newmarket last month and he can uphold form with Time Allowed (fourth), who has over three lengths to make up with him. A 7lb penalty will make life more difficult, but Charlie Appleby's charge should have too much for Accentuate, who has not been in action since a promising third at Ascot last July. A well-bred son of Siyouni, Tokyo Joe is another open to improvement for connections who have been in excellent form lately.
There was a lot to like about the power-packed finish of INDIAN SPRINGS at Newmarket and he can follow up en route to better things.

This is fiercely competitive and only a tentative vote can go to AGAINST THE WIND. Fifth in a valuable sales race here as a juvenile, it didn't work out in the Harry Rosebery at Ayr next time, but he returned with a convincing handicap triumph at Thirsk last month. Now 6lb higher but well drawn, there is plenty in his favour and he can go close. Mearall appears to be on a competitive mark so must be of interest along with The Quiet Gent, who might appreciate dropping to the minimum trip. Loom is also noted.
Loom can go well back at 5f but AGAINST THE WIND (nap) looked one to keep on the right side of when winning at Thirsk last month.

![]() Knightswood |
(4) 15/8(+0%) | (4) Knightswood 15/8, Well backed when scored by a head off 82 at Ripon penultimate start; third beaten 2l off 87 last time; winner at 1m4f; major player Season started well; can be relied upon to give his running and be seriously involved. |
KNIGHTSWOOD has bounced back to form in 2025, having scored at Ripon on his penultimate start before finishing third in a valuable handicap here on Guineas weekend under a 5lb penalty. The six-year-old will find this a much simpler task and can strike off 2lb lower. Fouroneohfever produced his best effort for a while at Chester last Thursday and has to enter the reckoning, while Lavender Hill Mob appears best of the remainder.
A tight handicap. KNIGHTSWOOD has returned this year in really good order and looks to have as good a chance as any.

Bred in the purple being related to several Group winners including Arc hero Waldgeist, CROWN IMPERIAL could be forward enough to take this on debut for leading connections. The trip is likely to suit and he is preferred to fellow newcomer and stablemate Valiancy, who is a half-brother to the classy Givemethebeatboys. Of those with experience, Caughtredhanded is entitled to come on plenty for his introduction.
The Wood Ditton fourth HINCHINBROOKE and fifth Caughtredhanded are preferred but the Haggas newcomers must be noted.

![]() Charlie's Gift |
(2) 10/1(0%) | (2) Charlie's Gift 10/1, Well beaten in a maiden hurdle here latest; steadily improving; each way claims if getting stiff test Outran his odds of 250-1 to finish in mid-division on his last start, could play a hand. |
Meaningful form is very thin on the ground under the conditions of this race and perhaps STICKTOTHEPLAN could be the answer. Cormac Farrell's charge hasn't run badly in three bumpers, particularly when eighth in a big field at the Punchestown Festival. Skyscraper wasn't a factor on slow ground at Naas but, prior to that, his mid-division finish in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown almost a year ago gives him a chance. Charlie's Gift kept on for seventh at this track last month and should improve upon that finish in this field.
STICKTO HE PLAN finished eighth of 22 on his most recent start two weeks ago and that could be enough to win here.

John and Thady Gosden can complete a hat-trick of wins in this race with BOWMARK. Impressive at Kempton on debut, the son of Kingman sets a good standard after a neck defeat to a progressive rival in a Listed race at Newcastle. He should be very hard to beat back in novice company. Point Of Contact, who had a luckless Crown Of Oaks back in third at Newbury, is feared most, although nicely-bred filly Sea The Wonder, is a must for a betting check.
Having gone close in a Listed race at Newcastle last month, BOWMARK is taken to go one better. Crown Of Oaks is a big danger.

Having shaped with plenty of promise when fourth on his debut at Navan, IPANEMA BEACH can take a significant step forward. The Donnacha O'Brien-trained colt was slowly into stride and had plenty to do at halfway, but ran on nicely once getting the hang of things inside the final furlong. Stepping up in trip should allow the son of Siyouni to travel easier in the early part of the race. With the Aidan O'Brien string really hitting form of late, newcomer Italy has to be respected. A well-bred son of Wootton Bassett, he should know his job first time up. Star Chamber is another who merits attention.
An interesting and likely informative maiden. IPANEMA BEACH can confirm Navan form with Estoublon over this longer trip

Having unseated on his first two attempts over timber, RONNIES RULES was able to keep the partnership intact to record a commanding success at Ffos Las recently. He must shoulder a penalty for that success but can repeat the dose. Twice a beaten favourite over flights so far, perhaps returning to the scene of last year's bumper triumph will help Bear Market. Lemon Leaf heads the remainder.
Recent Ffos Las winner Ronnies Rules is opposed with LEMON LEAF, who was fourth in a good Naas bumper in December.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rokuni |
(8) 22/1(+0%) | (8) Rokuni 22/1, Beaten 6l in a handicap at Nottingham last time; placed at 25/1 prior; probably bit better over further; bit to find on recent form 0-7 for current team and his third at Leicester two runs back was over 7f. |
FOREVER MY PRINCE won on his nursery debut at Lingfield last July and a subsequent gelding operation might yield further improvement on his return to action. The handicapper only raised him 2lb for that success and he gets the vote at the main expense of My Mate Kev, who finished third at Doncaster earlier this month. Royal Accord and Dapper Guest complete the shortlist.
Preference is for MY MATE KEV (nap) who gave it a good go from the front at Doncaster and he's effectively 7lb lower here.

SILENT AFFAIR showed a lot more when finishing second on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton. The daughter of Saxon Warrior races off the same mark and can take full advantage. Blue Tempus was put in his place by an impressive winner on his own handicap bow at Beverley, but the form is strong and Alan King's gelding should progress. Channagide and Glenridding are just two others to consider.
Blue Tempus bumped into one at Beverley and can go well but the longer trip can see an improved showing from SPLIT SILK.

KAPTAIN BAY travelled well before winning by more than four lengths at Bellewstown last month. He relished the better ground there so this dry spell is very much in his favour. Prove Yourself is another recent winner to note. He enjoyed the undulations in Tramore, which bodes well for a spin around Kilbeggan. Malbay Madness showed an aptitude for this track when he took advantage of a handy mark in April. The handicapper has had a say, but he still looks one of the leading protagonists. Jhentong Enki has been off for almost a year, but is not without a chance on his handicap hurdle debut.
PROVE YOURSELF could still have more to give after winning a Tramore maiden last time and is a tentative selection.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Golden Pharaoh |
(22) 33/1(+0%) | (22) Golden Pharaoh 33/1, Well backed beaten 3l off 70 at Brighton last time; cheekpieces first time; plenty to find Continues to drop down the weights but this year's form has been patchy; 0-9 in Britain. |
Only one of the last 10 favourite has emerged successful in this race and, with a maximum field of 22 competing, this year's edition is naturally competitive. Feel The Need won this off 4lb lower in 2024 and is respected with his repeat bid, while cases can obviously be made for penalised runners Eldrickjones and Delicacy based on recent from. However, it could be worth taking a chance on AL MUQDAD, who is a specialist over this trip and has proven to be effective from his current mark. From opposite sides of the draw, Yaaser and Sword are just two others with solid credentials.
The step up in trip may well be a positive for the unexposed 4yo MUSICAL TOUCH, who has won 6f handicaps the last twice.

![]() Newyorkstateofmind |
(2) 4/1(+0%) | (2) Newyorkstateofmind 4/1, Well backed when beaten 1l off 58 here last time out; a two-time winner over C&D on good to firm, including off 66 last summer; trainer and jockey combination are 4/5 this season Record over C&D reads 112 and only found a well-handicapped rival too good last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Match Play |

![]() Kyber Crystal |
(3) 6/1(+0%) | (3) Kyber Crystal 6/1, Scored by a short-head off 54 penultimate start, fifth beaten 3l off 57 last time; C&D winner last season with today's jockey on board; versatile going-wise; contender C&D winner; held off this mark at Catterick last time; may find one or two too good again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Refuge |
(4) 9/1(+0%) | (4) Refuge 9/1, Probably needed race when beaten 4l off 58 at Catterick last time; veteran is a four-time C&D winner, including on this ground and is 1lb below last winning mark; sharper for his comeback run Record over C&D reads 0111013235 and is 1lb below last winning mark; respected back here. |

![]() Woohoo |
(5) 10/3(+0%) | (5) Woohoo 10/3, Better than bare form when not clear run beaten 2l off 49 at Catterick last time; still lightly raced and likely a bit more to come on third start for new yard; chance Not beaten far on second start for the yard at Catterick on Monday; stiffer track may suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Royal Duke |
(6) 15/2(+0%) | (6) Royal Duke 15/2, Appeared not to get home over 6f at Ayr last time; will suit step back to 5f but is unproven on fast ground; behind Kyber Crystal on penultimate start when favourite but not dismissed 1-13; return to this trip should suit but good to firm ground remains a moot point. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Chester Le Streak |
(8) 20/1(+0%) | (8) Chester Le Streak 20/1, Down the field in a handicap over 6f at Thirsk last time; out of form in three starts off an 18-month absence; needs to improve Not shown much in three starts for this yard since returning from 18 months off in March. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Fumbleinthejungle |
(7) 50/1(+0%) | (7) Fumbleinthejungle 50/1, Too free when 10/10 at Redcar last time out; beaten two horses in four starts; unproven on fast ground; yard won this last year but plenty more needed on second start off a three-year absence Off 1072 days before last of ten on stable debut at Redcar this month; hard to recommend. |
REFUGE is already a four-time winner over C&D and is an attractive proposition back here off 1lb below his last successful rating. Fast ground ideally suits the eight-year-old and, with Lewis Chalkley claiming 7lb, there is an awful lot to like. Match Play, a fellow track-and-trip winner, is also attractively weighted and appears the chief danger on the back of an improved effort when third at Redcar. Royal Duke and Kyber Crystal are the pick of the remainder.
The vote goes to NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND whose record over C&D reads 112. He only found a well-handicapped rival too good last time.

![]() Senna's Girl |
(18) 10/3(-11%) | (18) Senna's Girl 10/3, Ran to form second beaten a head in an auction race over 7f at Gowran Park latest; up in trip; sound surface suits; has experience edge; threat Flew home for second at Gowran last month; big player if staying 1m. |
Gowran Park runner-up SENNA'S GIRL should be good enough to open her account. Placed on her introduction at the Curragh last season, the Diego Dias-trained filly was highly tried in subsequent starts. Back in maiden company for the first time since her debut, the daughter of Arizona stayed on strongly when just failing to get up at the Kilkenny track last month. Stepping up to a mile for the first time should help bring about the minimal improvement needed to win in this grade. Hopes Are High, who was less than a length behind the selection in third, should again be involved. Banner Beauty is also worthy of consideration on debut for shrewd connections.
SENNA'S GIRL (nap) flew home for second over 7f at Gowran and can confirm that form with both Hopes Are High and Dahoma

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Tedley |
(3) 15/2(+0%) | (3) Tedley 15/2, Appeared not to stay comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m7f at Newbury last time; trainer in form; drop in trip and quicker ground a plus; very interesting Took well to fences last season and today's drop back in trip looks the right move. |
Although ASTA LA PASTA struggled in the Sussex Champion Chase at Plumpton last month, this isn't as competitive and there is a real chance he'll gain an uncontested lead. Flic Ou Voyou hit the woodwork in a valuable veterans' final at Haydock latest and is respected, along with Sainte Doctor, who has improved markedly over the larger obstacles since returning in February.
The vote goes to PRINCE ESCALUS who ran well to a point at Perth last month, after a layoff, and has slipped to a tempting mark.

MOLTEN SEA made it two from four in handicap starts at Musselburgh when last seen and returns off just 2lb higher. William Haggas' filly should have no issues with this drop in distance and can go in again. Nibras Gold struck on his first start for the James Owen yard at Beverley last month and has to be respected, while One Cool Dreamer sports first-time cheekpieces and is another to consider.
Plenty of possibles but there should be more to come from AN BRADAN FEASA and he's preferred to One Cool Dreamer and Amancio.

![]() Kasanova's Dream |
(6) 9/2(0%) | (6) Kasanova's Dream 9/2, Third beaten 10l in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f at Tramore debut beaten by useful rival; step up in trip should suit; go well Stayed on for third over 2m at Tramore, this trip should help his cause, strong contender. |
COSTACURTA could progress from an opening runner-up berth at Fairyhouse in January. He was beaten a fair way, but the winner has since gone on to be successful in a Listed novices' hurdle at Perth so the form has depth. Couldntmakeitup stayed on well for a close third at Naas in December, which was a big step forward. He has earned a mark of 105 and is a big player. Kasanova's Dream kept on for third in Tramore so this extra distance could suit him well. Philip Rothwell runs three horses and his newcomer Damoso is worth a market check with Tiernan Power Roche up.
Providing he has suffered no lasting effects from a fall at Punchestown last November, RAPARREE CHAMP has good credentials for this

(1) 25/1(+0%) | (1) Believeinthisone 25/1, Well held and never able to land a blow in a novice over 5f at Pontefract on debut; up in trip here; should come on for the run but plenty more needed Always behind on his Pontefract debut last month; looks one for later on. |
Dacres Cross has shown some promise in his two previous starts and sets the current standard. However, the bar isn't too high and he could be worth taking on with one of the newcomers. HARLEQUIN BAY, who is a half-brother to a 5f winner, fits the bill on paper and is suggested as the first one to consider. Market support for Blue Mantle and Kolkata Knight would also be highly noteworthy.
The choice is BLUE MANTLE who may be suited by this stiff 6f on debut.

(15) 50/1(+0%) | (15) Maharajjah 50/1, Below par beaten 6l in a handicap here last time; in decent form prior; improvement required Glimpses of form on AW; C&D comeback run in March leaves him with a bit to find. |
Recent C&D winner BRAINS can make it back-to-back victories. Prominent throughout, the Dick Donohoe-trained gelding led over a furlong from home before staying on in determined fashion to score by a head. That form was given a boost when the runner-up won on his next start. Only raised 4lb, Brains can effectively run off the same mark, with the excellent Nicola Burns using her valuable claim. Well drawn for one who likes to race up with the pace, the nine-year-old has plenty in his favour. James Henry, who caught the eye at the Curragh, can be forgiven a poor run on very testing ground at Limerick. Notforalongtime and Pandion Power are others to consider.
A likely strong pace on here, not least from the well-drawn BRAINS who is taken to follow up a recent C&D win off a 4lb higher mark

![]() Fingal's Hill |
(5) 4/1(-14%) | (5) Fingal's Hill 4/1, Well backed when scored by 5l off 118 at Newcastle penultimate start; second beaten a neck off 123 last time given fine ride from front; chance In-form front-runner; on fairly tough mark now but may enjoy an uncontested lead. |
RAMBO T left it late to get up at Perth on his return to action and although a 4lb rise looks harsh given the manner of that victory, another bold showing likely beckons. The son of Ocovango has an excellent strike-rate over timber and is taken to repel the likely challenge of Fingal's Hill, who struck the woodwork at Kelso when attempting to follow up on his earlier Newcastle success. Aucunrisque should not be underestimated either.
Neil Mulholland's IKE SPORT ran well in two competitive handicaps (one over C&D) last month and gets the verdict in this easier race.

FINAL ORDERS is due to get the good ground he enjoys and could exploit his lower hurdles mark. His close second in the Ulster National at Downpatrick was endorsed when the winner finished fourth in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse. Willie Mullins supplies Armed And Fabulous, who races off a light weight. She was fifth in a valuable handicap hurdle at Ayr and gets first-time cheekpieces. Plains Indian and prominent-racer Slane Hill are both capable of a bold show, while Yeats Star is another eyeing a share of the prize money.
SAINT LE FORT was a game winner at Cork on his penultimate start and the good ground and increase in trip will suit his chances.

(1) 9/1(+0%) | (1) Kabuki 9/1, Second, beaten 9l, in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f last time out; won a 14.3f bumper on debut in 2023; makes belated Flat debut here and has to give weight to the younger horses 1-1 in bumpers and placed twice over hurdles; will find this a very different test. |

![]() Talismans Time |
(4) 9/2(+0%) | (4) Talismans Time 9/2, Well held when a beaten favourite over 8f at Redcar when last seen, possibly not suiting soft ground; trainer in form and possibilities breeding-wise up in trip on quicker ground In the frame in both starts last autumn; trip should be within range, but may need the run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Me And Bobby Mcgee |
(3) 10/3(+0%) | (3) Me And Bobby Mcgee 10/3, Bobby's Kitten colt; half-brother to Temporize, smart at 16f; dam smart at 12f; more speedily bred than his four winning staying siblings but respected on debut from this powerful yard Enough appeal on pedigree to make him worth monitoring in the market. |
MAFTING was heavily backed for his debut and although he found one too good in that novice event at Beverley, he showed enough promise to suggest he could be hard to beat in this smaller field now he has some experience. Me And Bobby Mcgee is a half-brother to plenty of winners and won't need to be anything special to have an impact on his introduction. Talismans Time, who has been gelded since last seen, is preferred for third, despite Kabuki's jumps form suggesting he could have a say.
This looks a good opportunity for MAFTING who probably only need repeat his debut form to go one better.

Well supported when runner-up at Navan on her Irish/stable debut, the Gerard O'Leary-trained SECRET WORLD can go one better. Having briefly led over a furlong out, the filly carried her head high and it is significant that connections have wasted little time in reapplying the cheekpieces she wore towards the latter end of her time with Charlie Johnston. Fortuna Vera should be all the better for a recent fourth at the Curragh. Racing in better company, the Joseph O'Brien-trained three-year-old stayed on nicely having missed the break. If getting away on terms, she should go close. Love Sonnet is interesting making a quick return after winning at Killarney.
Preference is for the 3yo FORTUNA VERA who caught the eye running on strongly over 7f at the Curragh last time. This trip should suit

FANTASTIC LADY has struggled in some very competitive events the last twice but it would be no surprise to see Nicky Henderson's mare bounce back to form in this company. The Wolf has been knocking hard on the door of late and is likely to be in the mix once again, while Sail Away edges out Stormin Crossgales to be best of the rest.
This can go to SAIL AWAY (nap), who is only 2lb higher than when keeping on well to go close in a series final in March.

Point-to-point winner NASTYA is of interest on her first crack at racecourse fences. She was placed behind smart sorts in maiden hurdle company at Down Royal and Limerick before cruising home by 25 lengths over flights in Down Royal. Gavin Cromwell's Next Stop Paris switches to fences after being victorious over the smaller obstacles at Cork last weekend. On Lovers Walk has been placed in his last couple of chases so has to enter calculations. Ballybrittas and Beggars Rock will also have their supporters, while all of the reserves have a squeak if getting a run.
BALLYBRITTAS was probably not best suited by a shorter trip last time and is preferred to Nest Stop Paris and Nastya

FAYLAQ showed the benefit of his reappearance at Musselburgh when making all over 1m5f here 12 days ago. A 4lb penalty and slight drop in trip are unlikely to hamper the veteran's follow-up bid and a seventh career victory may beckon. The progressive Creatif makes plenty of appeal reverting to 1m4f and he should give the selection plenty to think about. Per Contra is the pick of the remainder.
The vote goes to CREATIF who remains unexposed and won't have a problem with the return to this trip.

Having made a winning reappearance in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan last month, KYPRIOS can book his Royal Ascot ticket here. Unbeaten in his last eights runs, Aidan O'Brien's remarkable stayer has looked better than ever on recent starts. With upwards of 21lb in hand of these rivals, the seven-year-old can maintain his sequence before heading back to defend his Gold Cup crown. Last year's Ballysax winner Dallas Star has plenty to find on ratings but could get closest to the selection. Cork Derby runner-up Satin looks best of the remainder.
Champion stayer KYPRIOS continues on his route to Ascot and is unopposable here as he attempts a third win in the last four years

MASKED DANCE showed more when second at Huntingdon earlier in the month and that form gives the seven-year-old a big chance here. That said, Versace Twentyone got off the mark over hurdles at Ludlow last time and has to be noted with the prospect of further progression. Others who merit places on the shortlist include Midnight Ginger, Wudya and Hiconic.

![]() Bocelli's Voice |
(8) 12/1(0%) | (8) Bocelli's Voice 12/1, Probably needed race comfortably held in a handicap chase over 2m5f at Fairyhouse last time; generally out of form; better ground a plus but bit to find Below form on last three starts and has to return to best on second run back after a break. |
GENERAL CLERMONT wouldn't be winning out of turn having finished runner-up at Limerick and Tramore on his last two starts. His last victory in this discipline came over a similar trip at Wexford. Marv Michael showed plenty of ability when winning a beginners' chase by seven lengths last September. He wasn't at his best when next seen in a good race at Cheltenham, but there is scope for more with him. The handicapper has given The Dasher Conway a chance and he's noted too.
AEROS LUCK has looked onepaced over 2m in his last two beginners' chases and the step up in trip might help on handicap debut.

![]() Freedom Day |
(6) 33/1(+0%) | (6) Freedom Day 33/1, Slowly away beaten 5 1/2l in a handicap over 7f at Ayr last time after a fruitless spell over hurdles; generally out of form; sole Flat win over 8f; may not relish fast ground; plenty to find 0-14 on the Flat/hurdles since winning a Redcar novice for the Gosdens in April 2023. |
Starliner has been knocking on the door in recent months and, racing off the same mark as his latest second over slightly shorter here, another bold showing is forecast. However, he may have to play second fiddle once more, with BUBBLES WONKY edging the vote. The Lope De Vega gelding caught the eye when fifth on his seasonal bow at Doncaster and is expected to take the necessary step forward. Braes Of Doune is also noted.
This may be the day STARLINER returns to winning form having been placed in all three starts off this mark since returning to turf.

The progressive PORSCHE LAD holds leading claims on his stable debut for Charles Byrnes. A winner at Dundalk on his penultimate start, the four-year-old showed that he was capable of being competitive off his revised mark when narrowly denied back at that same venue. Although yet to show any really worthwhile form on grass, the son of Cotai Glory has had very few opportunities to do so. On pedigree, there has to be every chance that he can improve further on decent ground. Narrowly denied when well punted at Dundalk recently, Chopsticks is interesting on debut for John McConnell. Tatum has to enter the equation too.
CHOPSTICKS gets the nod on his debut for John McConnell. He's been in form on the AW, he ran well here last year and he's well drawn

![]() It's A Love Thing |
(8) 9/2(0%) | (8) It's A Love Thing 9/2, Benefited from positive ride landing a handicap by a length off 71 over 10f at Pontefract last time; thriving on flat; unexposed in this sphere; should show some improvement Not seen over hurdles since 2023 but a three-time Flat winner in recent weeks; interesting. |
LIVELY CITIZEN benefited from the application of cheekpieces when running out a comfortable winner over fences at Ffos Las 10 days ago, and the veteran performer may take advantage of running off the same mark back over timber. It's A Love Thing has been in excellent form on the level and may well be fairly handicapped switching back to hurdles. Others to note are Bannister and Fandabidozi.
The pick is IT'S A LOVE THING, who has been back in very good form on the Flat lately and is still unexposed over hurdles.

![]() Brownes Cross |
(1) 16/1(+0%) | (1) Brownes Cross 16/1, Elusive Pimpernel gelding; half-brother to Cosmo Renfro, moderate at 19f; probably need this initial experience Fifth foal, half-brother to handicap hurdle winner Cosmo Renfro, good 7lb claimer. |
A return to better ground will help SOUTH OF KILLERIG's chance. He showed up nicely in a pair of maiden hurdles at Tramore and Wexford last summer, but didn't perform as well on soft ground in a bumper at Listowel in the autumn. Le Roi Du Livet could be lively on his debut for Philip Fenton. He is a full-brother to a horse who has been acquitting herself well in valuable hurdle races in France. Walk In The Park gelding Stede Bonnet is likely to be popular on debut for Gordon Elliott and Harry Swan.
Most appealing of those with is Minella Emperor, but he may cope with the Gordon Elliot-trained newcomer STEDE BONNET

RING OF GOLD finished over five lengths clear of the third when filling the runner-up spot at Nottingham last month and goes off the same rating. (2) 20/1(0%) | (2) O'reilly 20/1, Probably needed race beaten 9l in a handicap at Tipperary last time; generally out of form; needs to improve Last won in 2021, minor promise second start for this yard after long layoff, needs more. |
With the form of his Tipperary second appearing solid, ROCK OF IRELAND can register a first career success. The Alan McIntyre-trained four-year-old shaped with plenty of promise on his previous start when fourth at Cork on his handicap debut. A lightly-raced gelding with more scope for improvement than the majority of these, he will lack for nothing in the saddle with Georgie Benson taking the ride. Royal runner Reaching High is a significant contender for Willie Mullins. Formerly in the care of the now-retired Sir Michael Stoute, the gelding was a winner at Wolverhampton last summer. Burren Song, a previous winner of this race, is another to consider.
A chance is taken on the C&D winner BURREN SONG who went well for this rider at the Curragh last October and he's 3lb lower now.

ANGEL OF MY DREAMS impressed when scoring in a point-to-point in March and the daughter of Jack Hobbs makes plenty of appeal on her Rules bow, especially in receipt of the four-year-old allowance. Amatchmadeinheaven got the better of Couer D'alene at Exeter and the pair are likely to go well, while others to consider include Call Me Early and Out On Her Own.
The filly ANGEL OF MY DREAMS easily won a point bumper on her debut in March and looks a pretty good candidate for this.

(6) 2/1(+0%) | (6) Ignac Lamar 2/1, Slowly away beaten 3/4l off 45 over 7f at Musselburgh last time; all four wins have come on the AW; down in trip but a three-time winner over 6f; faster ground and slow gates a concern Close third at Musselburgh last time, but 0-16 on turf and may need further than this now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Back Tomorrow |
(1) 9/2(+0%) | (1) Back Tomorrow 9/2, Slowly away beaten 1 1/4l off 55 over 5f at Ayr last time out; steps back up to ideal trip for in-form trainer; all five wins have come on the AW but her last run showed she handles turf 0-11 on turf, albeit she ran well when third over 5f at Ayr last time; 6f suits her better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Black Cab |
(3) 9/2(+0%) | (3) Black Cab 9/2, Off the mark scoring by a neck off 48 at Wolverhampton last time on second handicap start; up 2lb on first start for new yard, fast ground is a question mark but in the mix if handling it Changed stables since winning at Wolverhampton last month; remains unexposed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Ishe Worth Agamble |
(2) 9/4(+0%) | (2) Ishe Worth Agamble 9/4, Bit in hand scoring for the first time off 46 at Leicester last time out; suited the step back in trip there and could have more to come off a 5lb rise as a possible improving 4yo Off the mark at the 13th attempt on Leicester return; holds stronger claims than most. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Rain Cap |
(4) 12/1(+0%) | (4) Rain Cap 12/1, Below form last twice on the AW but all seven wins have come on turf; acts on the track, versatile trip-wise and not out of it with 7lb claimer on board C&D winner; feasibly treated on form as recently as last autumn. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Bernie The Bear |
(5) 25/1(+0%) | (5) Bernie The Bear 25/1, Well below form down the field in a handicap at Ayr last time out; all three wins have come on the AW; may not relish fast ground; bit to find 0-14 on turf and losing run up to 27; others are more persuasive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Thunderstorm Katie |
(7) 25/1(+0%) | (7) Thunderstorm Katie 25/1, Below form beaten 7l at Newcastle last time out; out of form since showing glimmers of ability in two runs following a wind op; may not relish fast ground; more needed Unplaced in all nine starts and makes limited appeal back from 134 days off. |
ISHE WORTH AGAMBLE sprung a 22/1 surprise when going in by a length at Leicester last weekend and now has a 5lb penalty to carry. If the four-year-old remains in similar form, he will prove tough to beat. Black Cab struck by a neck on his second handicap start at Wolverhampton and is an interesting contender on his first outing for the Alison Hamilton yard. Of the remainder, Back Tomorrow makes the most appeal.
The votes goes to BACK TOMORROW who ran well when third over 5f at Ayr last time and will be suited by the return to this trip.
Ths is the racecard key.
