KARA SACRE makes a lot of sense in the opener. Paul Nolan's charge won a point-to-point impressively prior to finishing a creditable second on his hurdling bow at Naas last month and he should go very close now sporting a first-time hood. Ivybrook finished second behind Romeo Coolio here in November and is a player on that form, while Big Dee has won a bumper at this venue and now tackles hurdles for the first time.

Preference is for the top rated IVYBROOK who has shown enough, including at this venue, to suggest he can win a maiden hurdle.

Cheaply bought Bangkok colt; others make greater appeal.
LTO Selection:hiden content,

A half-brother to a two-year-old winner who went on to pick up black-type as a juvenile, NEOLITHIC has the pedigree to be competitive on debut. While the son of Sioux Nation will almost certainly want further in time, this looks the right trip starting off. With those drawn high having had a noticeable advantage at the last meeting here, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt looks nicely berthed on the stands side. Killourney Reigns is also of interest on his racecourse debut. Trainer Johnny Murtagh sent out his half-sister to make a winning start to her career. She later went on to finish runner-up in a Grade 2 in America. Substance, a half-brother to two black-type horses, also merits respect.

Innumerable has valuable experience and is respected but a chance is taken on the newcomer SUBSTANCE

Showed some promise (seventh of 17) in the Brocklesby; possibilities.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

The turn into the home straight presents very quickly over 5f here and, with that in mind, PRIVATE AFFAIR is handily drawn to take command from stall two. Richard Hannon's speedily-bred colt showed a lot of promise from an awkward stalls position on his debut at Newbury and could be tough to deal with if he handles switching to Polytrack. Red Savitar appeals more than Ahead Of Fashion based on their respective debut efforts, while Mwaki is the pick of the two newcomers.

The only runner who brings AW form is RED SAVITAR, who should improve on his Southwell effort. Private Affair is feared most.

COYOTE SPIRIT took a step forward on only his second start for the Gordon Elliott yard to justify favouritism in a bumper at Bellewstown last month. The seven-year-old looks to have found an ideal opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles. Fairbanks was victorious in some valuable handicaps on the Flat for Andrew Balding and has to be respected on his first outing over timber for the William Durkan stable. Any market confidence behind Timeless Treaty would be interesting.

The classy Flat performer FAIRBANKS, who got to within 5l of Absurde on his last Flat start, is taken to make a winning hurdles debut

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

Impressive Dundalk maiden winner LADY IMAN should be hard to beat if able to replicate that form on grass. Well supported to make a winning debut, the daughter of Starman had clearly being showing plenty at home. The form of that race has been well advertised subsequently, with both the runner-up and third placed horse going on to land their respective maidens. Power Blue, who won the opening juvenile race of the season over course and distance, holds every chance. On collateral form, the Adrian Murray-trained colt has work to do with the selection but he is entitled to have improved from that initial run. True Love, a full-sister to a winning juvenile, has to be respected on her introduction.

After making such an impression when beating three subsequent winners on her Dundalk debut, it's hard to oppose LADY IMAN here

A half-brother to the high-class Al Suhail, this could be an ideal starting point for the Godolphin-owned SPY CHIEF, who Godolphin secured for 750,000gns as a yearling. Given he is a son of the supremely talented but headstrong Kingman, the fitting of a hood could be a safe policy to combat any precocious fizz as he bids to make a winning debut. Amica and Spitzbergen are the most notable from those with experience, while Takteek is another debutant to keep an eye on.

Rapper's Delight has the benefit of a recent run but SPITZBERGEN looked an unlucky loser on his debut last autumn and gets the nod.

A change of scenery worked the oracle for MALBAS at Fairyhouse last month. He finally opened his account over timber with a cosy success on his first start for Edward Buckley's yard and may well defy a 9lb rise. Tubberfinn Lady can also feature on the back of winning at Kilbeggan in fine style, while Quinn The Eskimo remains unexposed over timber and is preferred to Fort Randall of the remainder.

Fairyhouse winner Malbas has a chance up 8lb but QUINN THE ESKIMO wasn't beaten far that day so he could turn the tables.

BEAULD AS BRASS overcame his slow start to run out a ready winner at Chelmsford on Friday and now has a 5lb penalty to shoulder. Considering the manner of that success, he will prove very hard to beat. Cathedral Peak finished fourth behind the selection at Lingfield last month, but is 13lb better off at the weights and may get closer back on turf. Galactic Glow is another to note.

5yo BEAULD AS BRASS has been resurgent with wins under Simon Walker in his last two runs and may well be able to complete a hat-trick.

UBETTERSEETHIS makes plenty of appeal on the evidence of his promising debut. Craig Lidster's charge picked up nicely in the closing stages when just failing to catch the winner at Pontefract and this stiff 5f should suit. Saucy Jane also showed ability when runner-up at the same Pontefract fixture, while Greek Gold is another likely improver, though they've not been done any favours by the draw.

Greek Gold is open to improvement but preference is for UBETTERSEETHIS who went very close at Pontefract on debut.

The Paddy Twomey-trained CURRAWOOD should be progressive enough to cope with this rise in class. Placed in two maidens at this track last season, he opened his account at Dundalk towards the end of March. Back on grass last time, the son of Acclamation easily disposed of some smart previous winners to land a competitive contest at Cork. He certainly deserves to take his chance in Listed company here and holds every chance of completing the hat-trick. Third in the Gladness Stakes at this venue on his return, the Aidan O'Brien-trained Officer is entitled to have come on for that outing. Alakazi is also worthy of consideration.

Just the one Ballydoyle contender and a strong one in OFFICER (nap), whose Gladness Stakes third looks the best on offer

TRIPLE DOUBLE A made all under a penalty at Yarmouth on Thursday and, although Oisin Murphy had to stoke him along to assert, the three-year-old had plenty in hand at the finish. With Murphy retained, there is plenty to like about the quick-fire hat-trick bid. Fellow last-time-out winner Sharma D'amour rates a logical danger to the selection, while Callout could also have a big say if a first-time visor is a source for improvement.

The most persuasive contenders are TRIPLE DOUBLE A and Sharma d'Amour who have a combined record of 3-3 since handicapping.

I Follow Rivers built on a promising third on his return from a break/being gelded when he scored in a tenacious manner at Wolverhampton last week. However, BIG GYPSY KING was a more emphatic winner at Chelmsford on Thursday and he could be the one to cope better with a penalty on these terms. Magna is surely better than she managed last time out and is not taken lightly. Lunanova is another with some each-way appeal.

The two penalised runners stand out, with BIG GYPSY KING shading it from I Follow Rivers having won easily at Chelmsford.

TIMMY TUESDAY can be excused his heavy defeat over an inadequate extended 2m3f at Punchestown six days ago and he makes grand appeal faced with a stiffer test of stamina. Gordon Elliott's charge had previously finished a cracking second at Aintree and a similar performance may suffice. Stablemate Clodders Dream has something to prove after pulling up at Fairyhouse a fortnight ago, so a bigger threat may emerge from the in-form Topgun Simmy.

Previous course winner TIMMY TUESDAY is well clear on the ratings and a repeat of his Aintree second should be enough to take this

Gelded since the end of last season, CAPE SOVEREIGN posted his best effort to date when going close at Chelmsford on his first start after wind surgery. Kevin Ryan's sprinter looks on a workable mark for his handicap debut and a bold bid is anticipated. El Cobre Fuego also goes handicapping for the first time having finished runner-up at Newcastle in March. He can feature along with Jeany May.

On his second run since being gelded and his second after a wind op, CAPE SOVEREIGN is taken to beat Hundred Caps.

It could pay to take a chance on the Joseph O'Brien-trained handicap debutant BEAUTIFUL AFFAIR. Unlucky in running when sent off a warm favourite on her racecourse debut at Dundalk, the daughter of Wootton Bassett then finished runner-up to Powerful Lady on her next start. However, it is her latest run, when third behind a pair of fillies now rated in the 90s, that makes her of interest here off just 77. The aforementioned Powerful Lady has to have every chance of confirming that previous form but may not have as much scope for improvement. Course maiden winner Orchidaceae should find this easier than the Group 3 contest she contested at Leopardstown.

The vote goes to ORCHIDACEAE who shaped well when making her seasonal debut in a Group 3 race and can exploit an opening mark of 90

A wide draw and lack of a recent run were legitimate excuses for VECU when he only managed third as a well-supported favourite in the betting on his seasonal debut at Chelmsford last month. However, based on his official rating of 85, the Gosdens' have found a good opportunity for the son of Churchill to atone. Oceans Charm and Bondi appeal the most from the rest with experience. However, the bar isn't too high for Scoville and Karthala to play stronger roles on debut for their top yards.

Four-race maiden VECU has shown no progress but he has strong turf form. Second choice is interesting newcomer Scoville.

A competitive event in which a chance can be taken on ISABELLA CASTILE. The Rock Of Gibraltar filly opened her account at Windsor in October before struggling in a Listed contest next time, but she did shape with promise on her return at Newmarket last month. She'll need to prove herself on an artificial surface now but if doing so, she won't be far away. Shallow hit the frame in a class 2 at Newcastle on AWC Finals Day and she merits respect down in class, while Glamour Show and Persian Spirit are others to consider.

The market spoke strongly SO SASSY's way ahead of her Lingfield comeback and she's given another chance. Star Zia is second choice.

ENCANTO BRUNO returned from a break over C&D last month when proving no match for Pied Piper. That said, Gavin Cromwell's charge doesn't face a rival of that calibre on this occasion and is expected to come out on top. Baltic Bird ran with credit in a Ballinrobe handicap hurdle and is an interesting recruit to chasing, while Big Stage is likely to be competitive dropping back in trip after finishing fifth at Navan in March.

It might pay to side with the more experienced BIG STAGE (nap) who will appreciate the drop in trip and return to a sounder surface

MASTER ZACK showed a good amount of improvement when scoring at Southwell last month and a 7lb rise might prove to be on the lenient side. Provided the three-year-old can transfer that form to turf, he could take a fair amount of stopping. Bluesy Moon outran her odds to finish a respectable third at Brighton last time and should remain competitive, while Sarabi is another to consider.

Top of the list is MASTER ZACK (nap), who landed a gamble with his strong-finishing win from off the pace at Southwell last month.

WE DARE TO DREAM found one too good over a mile at Musselburgh on his reappearance and will appreciate this return to 7f. Ripon runner-up Last Shamardal also drops back to 7f with a shout, while Frankies Dream could be in the mix too.

The progressive LAST SHAMARDAL was short-headed at Ripon and can return to winning ways at the chief expense of Frankies Dream.

CHANTEZ was a smart juvenile last year and should be suited by this distance on her first start at three. By Wootton Bassett, her previous races have all been at Leopardstown and having readily won her maiden, she landed September's competitive Ingabelle Stakes. She has already beaten five of these rivals, with Garden Of Eden finishing second in the Ingabelle. She disappointed in two subsequent runs here but returned lame having lost a shoe last September and is entitled to have come forward for last month's reappearance. Cercene is another to bear in mind.

This looks a good starting point for CHANTEZ, who looked a high-class filly in the making when beating Garden Of Eden last autumn

Forager and The Feminine Urge are reliable options for the shortlist, while the handicap debutant Nordic Games is also worth considering from a more speculative standpoint. Solid-looking VIRTUE TEMPERANCE (nap) is preferred, ahead of interesting types Forager (second choice) and Nordic Games.

There has been no stopping Elterwater of late, who completed her hat-trick over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton last time out. She can often be keen though and with that in mind over this longer trip, DANCINGWITHMYSELF is preferred. Michael Bell has his string in fine fettle and the daughter of Phoenix Of Spain was a real eye-catcher at Ripon when making her reappearance last month. The mare was nudged up 2lb for that narrow second but progress is likely and that shouldn't be a barrier to success. Charmaine is also noted.

Dancingwithmyself is respected off the back of a solid turf comeback but CHARMAINE is taken to follow up her Southwell win.

Having secured a fifth career victory at Carlisle last month, I'm A Starman warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, the veteran is effectively 8lb higher without Callum Pritchard's 5lb claim and GALWAY REEL may be slightly better handicapped. Ian Williams' gelding ended 2024 with a good second at Ludlow and a similar performance on his return to action may prove sufficient. Harrys Hope is noted reverting to timber off a lower mark.

Christian Williams' RUBIES OR GOLD shaped as though his turn is near when third at Ascot five weeks ago and gets the verdict.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

A winner over C&D on her penultimate start, SEA ASTER was always going to face a stiff test in the Listed race in which she unseated at Fairyhouse last time. This is more attainable and it could be worth forgiving that mishap. Fellow track-and-trip winner Smitty Bacall is another solid contender, while Quest With Speed and Hardwired should also be competitive.

Preference is for another recent C&D winner in SEA ASTER, who was unsuited by soft ground since that win and this will suit better.

Having returned to form with a respectable third at Yarmouth last month, Banana should give another good account. However, Scott Dixon's mare remains winless after 47 attempts and SAVALAS is more compelling. The veteran sprang a shock when scoring over slightly further here in September last year and his latest third at Wolverhampton should have him spot-on for a return to this venue. Dual track course winner Sisters In The Sky is also noted.

The vote goes to SISTERS IN THE SKY, who is on her last winning mark and represents a yard that won this race in 2022 and 2023.

STARSONG made the frame at Leicester on her latest outing and the handicapper may have been kind to leave her mark alone. Mick Appleby's six-year-old lurks on an appealing rating and looks the one to beat. Queens Road Revue is a C&D winner who finished a fair fourth at Wetherby last time, and she could have a say off the same mark. Vixey is another to keep an eye on.

In what could become a tactical affair, QUEENS ROAD REVUE, a fair fourth at Wetherby last week, is taken to beat Starsong.

LOS ANGELES returns following a fine three-year-old season. He disappointed on his final start last year but had otherwise performed to a consistently high level, with his Irish Derby success a particular highlight. 2023 Derby third White Birch won last year's renewal of this race prior to winning the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup. The race-fit Galen beat Jan Brueghel last month and, although the St Leger winner was reappearing over an inadequate distance, Joseph O'Brien's inmate still warrants plenty of respect.

Last year's Irish Derby winner LOS ANGELES has top-class form at 1m2f and is just prefered to the long-absent White Birch

Telepathic remains unexposed but preference is for PIETRO, who had things conspire against him on his comeback here in March.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

The introduction of cheekpieces eked out enough improvement in PEP TALKING to score at Hereford and Southwell in recent months and he still looks a step ahead of the handicapper. A 4lb higher mark for the seven-year-old's victory at the Nottinghamshire venue looks workable and a hat-trick may beckon. The biggest threat may emerge from last month's Newton Abbot runner-up Begin The Luck, while Catchim also looks capable of going close at this level.

Preference is for BEGIN THE LUCK (nap), who bumped into an improver when second on slower-than-ideal ground at Newton Abbot recently.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

Having recorded a hat-trick between the flags in recent months, MY LIFE BE LIKE could be one to follow on his Rules debut. The son of Getaway has made light work of his opposition and he's marginally preferred to Bold Fury. The six-year-old arrives on the back of a good second over an extended 2m3f at this course and the step up in trip is unlikely to prevent another bold bid. Sampoet and Justlikejessejames complete the shortlist.

A fine runner-up over a shorter trip at this track last time, BOLD FURY can go one better as long as he settles well enough.

Untried on turf but he's won twice on AW this year and still has scope for more progress.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

COMMANDING PRINCE made light work of his opposition when completing a double at Newcastle 46 days ago and there is likely more to come. An opening mark of 82 is unlikely the ceiling of the four-year-old's ability and, if proving as effective on turf, a hat-trick could be on the cards. The biggest threat may emerge from My Ambition, who offered encouragement on his fourth-placed reappearance over C&D last month, ahead of Thapa VC.

It's hard to get away from COMMANDING PRINCE, who is 2-3 and has plenty of scope for further progress on this handicap debut.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

SANAT showed improvement when sporting a first-time tongue-tie at Southwell last time and a 6lb rise might underestimate that performance. The four-year-old may have more to offer on only his sixth handicap start and looks the way to go. Keldeo regained the winning thread at Pontefract last month and has to be respected off just 2lb higher. Glory Hyde isn't out of it either.

4yo SANAT (nap) could be just the type to keep on improving for Mick Appleby and he can follow up his win at Southwell in February.

SHOWHOUND ran well on his first start for new connections over C&D last month. A dual UK winner, he is ground-versatile and while raised 4lb following his recent runner-up effort, finished nicely clear of the third-placed El Bello, who reopposes. A reproduction of that effort would give him every chance. Nine-time winner Notforalongtime has been running consistently well and while well suited by this distance, has a wide draw in 23. Six-time winner Mullacash Buzz has a similar profile and continues in good form.

This looks very open. Tte safest choice is probably SHOWHOUND who is taken to confirm the form of his Irish debut with El Bello

HAVANA PUSEY failed to get a clear run in a tougher sprint at Leicester last week. Beaten only a nose on her reappearance at Doncaster in March, the daughter of Havana Grey looks to have strong claims in this lower grade. Many A Star has won three times on the all-weather this year and returns to this surface with every chance, while Spring Bloom could prove competitive after finding one too good at Goodwood just three days ago.

All of the runners have possibilities but HAVANA PUSEY gets the vote ahead of Spring Bloom and Many A Star.

ORCHARD was beaten only a head over 7f here on his reappearance. The winner has advertised the strength of that form by scoring again subsequently and Warren Greatrex' charge may prove the one to side with. Placed over 7f the last twice now, Saxonia won over today's distance at Newcastle before that and has to be included in calculations, while Virtue Patience landed a maiden race when upped to 7f at Lingfield and further improvement could be forthcoming.

Virtue Patience is respected but ORCHARD (nap)'s clear second here a few weeks ago looks rock solid and he gets the vote.

LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content,

A 154-day layoff and wind procedure worked the oracle for Soleil D'arizona when opening her account over hurdles at Haydock last month. An opening mark of 104 does demand more from Dan Skelton's mare, though, and INDEMNITY looks slightly more progressive. The son of Lope De Vega proved a ready winner at Huntingdon 16 days ago and a 7lb rise may not prevent him from following up. Uhtred Ragnarson may chase the pair home.

A stylish winner on last month's handicap debut, INDEMNITY could be too good for Haydock maiden winner Soleil d'Arizona.

LTO Selection:

TEST THE MARKET accounted for Leopard D'irlande (seventh) when showing a good amount of improvement to finish fourth at Ballinrobe last month and should have more improvement in him. Gordon Elliott's four-year-old might only need to reproduce that level of form in order to get off the mark. Jodoro is related to three French Flat winners and it would be interesting if the market speaks in his favour on debut.

It seems safest to go with LEOPARD D'IRLANDE who did too much from the front when favourite at Ballinrobe on debut.

ZAPPATA has the burden of a double penalty for his wins at Wetherby and Redcar but he was comfortably in command in those races and is very hard to oppose in bidding to complete the hat-trick. Eva's Eyes and Havana Club are strong candidates for the runner-up slot, with the latter feared the most based on his turf form holding a slightly more solid appearance.

This can go to ZAPPATA, who has been a big improver since upped to 1m and was an easy winner at Redcar last Thursday.

KWA HERINI ran well in a recent handicap and has an unexposed profile. Out of a Group 3-winning dam who has already bred five winners, the selection showed just mild promise at Dundalk last winter but ran a solid race over course-and-distance last month, with further progression possible. She's Smart ran well on soft ground at Navan recently and while she is also suited by a sound surface, her best form is at five furlongs. Martinelli has useful recent form and seems at his best on easy ground but it is at least interesting that he drops markedly to this distance.

Top-weight GORDON BENNETT gets another chance to race in this grade following a strong-finishing C&D third last month

GOLDEN CIRCET was able to build on a promising stable debut to record a narrow success at Bath recently. The low-mileage five-year-old is now two from six on the grass, so a 3lb rise looks manageable and the booking of Oisin Murphy is noteworthy. Outgun is on a fair mark and he ought to be in the thick of things, although the less-exposed Kingkeer might be more of a threat.

It might pay to chance the fitness to KINGKEER, who made a decent start to his handicap career last summer and still has potential.

The Spotlight Kid scored here in November and a first-time visor may bring about improvement, while El Hibri went close over 6f here recently and is not out of it either.

Two-time course winner THE SPOTLIGHT KID ran well in a higher grade here last time and earns the vote ahead of Triggered.

It's been a while since things dropped right for EYE OF THE WATER but this dual course and distance winner runs off a featherweight in comparison to his peak ratings and his proven liking for this venue could be a key asset in this company. Outrace finished in front of Villalobos and Expecto in a clash over track-and-trip last month and, with cheekpieces back on, he could be the chief danger to the selection.

Preference is for VILLALOBOS, who is well treated on his Salisbury win last summer and he didn't get any luck over C&D last month.

(6) Peerless Percy 25/1, 10l third in a maiden hurdle over 2m at Fakenham most recent run; hasn't run on the Flat since 2023; mark looks generous, but very risky
Two AW wins for Michael Dods in 2021; not done as well since; 3rd over hurdles last month.
LTO Selection:hiden content, hiden content, hiden content, hiden content

MON ETOILE offered enough encouragement on her fourth-placed seasonal debut at Catterick last month to suggest that a race of this nature is within her compass. Arch Legend is an intriguing runner dropping in distance on his return to action, while market support for handicap debutant Haafapenny would be interesting and she's taken to go well on her return to the grass.

In an unappealing event REMARKABLE FLIGHT, who is fit from hurdling, is taken to get the better of Mon Etoile.

This isn't the deepest and preference is for CURTIZ. Hughie Morrison's gelding has been running with credit on the all-weather and he's handicapped to go well back on the turf, while many of these arrive with a point to prove. Crowd Quake has few miles on the clock and he may improve for a step up in trip, with the consistent Harlington expected to be on the premises.

In a winnable race with Oisin Murphy back on board, CURTIZ is preferred. Harlington is second choice.
