MOSSY FEN PARK ran with a considerable amount of promise when runner-up to a smart type of Willie Mullins' at Punchestown on his Rules debut. Without a rival of that calibre in the line-up, Henry de Bromhead's gelding has been found a fine opportunity to go one better. Great Universe may benefit from a sounder surface following his hurdling bow and is expected to be in the mix, while He's Ultimate and Annaghbeg are also noted.

Winning pointer MOSSY FEN PARK showed plenty to work on when second at Punchestown last month and with the prospect of more to come, he can go one place better. Annaghbeg and the quirky Great Universe are the main dangers.

THANK YOU BLUE got off the mark on his hurdling debut here last month and a step up in trip promise to yield improvement from the son of Blue Bresil. Panhandle Slim filled the runner-up spot on his first attempt over timber at Bangor and is capable of being in the mix, while Wild Side Of Life is expected to find this an easier assignment than his latest start at Cheltenham.

WILD SIDE OF LIFE shaped well behind a promising mare on her Rules debut at Wetherby prior to departing before the race truly began to develop at Cheltenham last time, so he's very much the one to beat back in calmer waters. Kilbarry Hill has the services of the yard's 10 lb conditional, who opened his account on Friday, and is feared most ahead of Panhandle Slim.

The step up to this trip should suit THANK YOU BLUE, whose recent course win has been franked.

MICKS JET proved her 66/1 success in a Cheltenham bumper was no fluke when putting a disappointing comeback behind by her by making the frame in a Listed NH Flat race back at Prestbury Park. She is bred to excel over obstacles and is preferred to Lady In The Park, who was pipped for second by Sweet Honey B at Aintree prior to again taking third at Uttoxeter. Sweet Honey B didn't quite perform to that level at Lingfield subsequently, while Dontyawantme is worth a look.

DONTYAWANTME made a promising start in this sphere for her new yard when fourth over C&D so this fairly useful bumper scorer looks the way to go. Lucinda Russell's Lady In The Park also has better days ahead of her and rates the main danger, although hurdling newcomers Micks Jet and Missy Ava could have a say too, especially if the market vibes are positive.

On bumper form, MICKS JET holds a particularly good chance. Dontyawantme is second choice.

AH WHISHT was just denied at Plumpton in March when attempting to follow up her hurdling debut success at Ffos Las. Related to some useful performers, an opening mark of 117 may underestimate her true ability and the six-year-old gets the vote in what appears to be a winnable contest on paper. Cherie D'am enters calculations based on what she has achieved over hurdles to date, while a wind operation could aid the cause of Royale Dance.

It's hard to get away from REALISATION, who escapes a penalty for last week's smooth win on handicap debut at Southwell. Could Be Trouble is pretty exposed but is very likely to give it another good shot, with An Whisht a potential improver on reappearance.

Cherie D'Am isn't opposed lightly but REALISATION (nap) had them well strung out at Southwell and can race off the same mark here.

SAMBEZI hosed up by 17 lengths in a class 4 event when last seen in May at Worcester and he now makes his return to action for the Oliver Signy stable. The son of Rajsaman only has two rivals to contend with and should have no issues with this shorter trip, so he is difficult to oppose. For Pleasure holds stronger credentials than Nashville Nipper after he bolted up by 15 lengths at Fakenham last week and he can give the selection a lot to think about.

FOR PLEASURE came clear readily for his new yard at Fakenham last week and looks good for the follow up under a penalty given he's been rated much higher. Sambezi has form figures of 121 over the Fontwell hurdles and is feared most on his first start for 7 months.

Front-running FOR PLEASURE looks well capable of following up his Fakenham win. Sambezi is second choice.

ASCENDING has the experience and sets a good standard in this. The Awtaad gelding was fifth in last season's Triumph Hurdle and ran a decent race on his return when third to It's For Me in a strong maiden hurdle at Punchestown last month. That form has been boosted by the runner-up Caldwell Potter winning since. Obviously the Willie Mullins-trained Anotherway commands plenty of respect. He was a winner in his native France and is a half-brother to Concertista, a good mare for the same connections. Gordon Elliott is represented by D B Cooper. The Getaway gelding was beaten at a short price on his 'track' debut but looked to run into a smart horse in Jeroboam Machin then and the point-to-point winner may do better now over timber.

NO FLIES ON HIM beat three subsequent winners under Rules when successful on his sole start between the flags in February and has the look of a potentially useful recruit. It will look significant if he's strong in the market. Ascending sets a good standard judged on what he's shown in his four starts over hurdles and is a much-respected main danger. D B Cooper also commands respect, while Sansrisk is not without each-way hope and I Am Lorenzo needs a second look in the betting.

The experience gained last season by ASCENDING could be a crucial factor and the form of his seasonal debut appears very solid

BELIEVE JACK has done relatively well since joining the Olly Murphy yard and despite finishing last on his most recent start, he wasn't beaten overly far. A return to better ground is a major plus on this occasion and he can land this weak contest at the main expense of Out The Glen and Shetland Tony, who hasn't shown much since an easy win on his debut for new connections at Stratford in October.

A low-key start to proceedings in which preference is for SHETLAND TONY, who got back on track when fifth at Huntingdon last month and Nigel Twiston-Davies' 4-y-o can regain the winning thread dropped into selling company. Edgar Allan Poe has offered little on both recent outings but he's put forward as the main threat in this grade, with Believe Jack, who has headgear on for the first time, rounding off the shortlist.

The top two in the handicap look the main players, with BELIEVE JACK just preferred to Shetland Tony.

The Other Mozzie is interesting on his hurdling debut given he boasts placed form in a bumper and in the point-to-point sphere. The market should tell us more, but BLEU D'ENFER might take all of the beating judged on his best form, which includes a close-up second over timber at Perth and a second over fences at Punchestown last time. Purse Price is another to take seriously for a top yard.

PURSE PRICE has proven expensive to follow but she was in the process of running well when unseating her rider on her most recent outing at Clonmel and can be given one more chance in a race that may not take a huge amount of winning. Bleu d'enfer and hurdling-debutant The Other Mozzie are considered the main threats.

A tricky maiden. BLUE D'ENFER has a somewhat unusual profile coming here but his rating (113) is fair and that may suffice now

I'M TOO TIRED struggled to make an impact against a useful type at Wetherby on his latest start and the juvenile makes plenty of appeal on his handicap debut. Joie De Vivre went up 4lb for her victory here last month and she is likely to go well once again. Imperial Measure was no match for an easy winner at Taunton last time but remains capable of a decent showing.

COUP DE GOLD is winless since 2019 but has slipped to a competitive mark and was unlucky to bump into a thriving rival over 2m here last time, so a chance is taken he'll go one better with the return to an intermediate trip rating as a positive. Imperial Measure has held his form admirably since scoring at Newton Abbot and should go well again, with Joie de Vivre also high on the shortlist.

Joie De Vivre likes it here and can go well but the choice is IMPERIAL MEASURE, who ran well behind a subsequent winner last time.

PLENTY OF TIME has some experience of these challenging fences and can put that knowledge to her advantage in what is likely to be a tactical affair. The selection wasn't beaten too far in a Listed chase here last week and she could improve for the application of first-time cheekpieces. Chasing debutant So Said I is feared most given her respectable form over hurdles, while It's Easy is 0-12 over fences but still offers more appeal than Lets Go To Vegas, who was pulled up on her chasing debut last month.

Successful on 2 of her 4 starts over hurdles (both on right handed tracks), LETS GO TO VEGAS shaped as if she'd come on for her chase debut/reappearance run at Wetherby in November and, back against her own sex, it would come as no surprise to see a much-improved showing from Alastair Ralph's mare. So Said I on chase bow and It's Easy can do battle for second.

This might go to LETS GO TO VEGAS, who found heavy ground too taxing at Wetherby last month but remains a good chasing prospect.

An intriguing contest to start proceedings, in which preference is for BUNTING, who debuts for Willie Mullins having bolted up on the Flat at Fontainebleau in March. There are signs of encouragement in his pedigree, so it would come as no surprise to see him make an immediate impact over timber. Voice Of Reason struck in a Killarney maiden over the summer and he is another that might benefit from the change in code. Stablemate Timeless Piece is fancied to chase the pair home.

The most interesting of these by some way is BUNTING, who looked good when winning his sole start on the Flat in France and is an intriguing candidate now switched to hurdles for the Willie Mullins yard. Timeless Piece is clear second choice given the improvement she showed when fourth at Punchestown last month. Bright Legend, Mr Lincoln and Voice of Reason, all successful on the level, all need a second look on their hurdles debuts.

TOM CODY gained compensation for a narrow Newcastle defeat when returning there to land the odds in first-time cheekpieces. He probably didn't beat much but has plenty of scope for improvement and can go in again. The four-year-old Aristobulus isn't exactly bred for fences, but jumped well enough to make all over hurdles at Southwell and his weight-for-age allowance might come in handy. Kalpaga took a step back in the right direction at Ludlow and she completes the shortlist.

KALPAGA turned in much her best effort over fences when fourth at Ludlow last time and with that form working out well she looks very much the way to go. Recent Newcastle scorer Tom Cody rates the obvious threat to Tim Vaughan's mare, although fencing newcomers Ffree Pedro and Aristobulus also need factoring in, especially if the market vibes are positive.

Provided he copes with the drop back in distance, TOM CODY could well show further progress. Kalpaga is second choice.

RIDERS ONTHE STORM goes particularly well fresh having landed the Old Roan over C&D on his seasonal return last season off a 6lb higher mark, and it would be no surprise if connections have had this mapped out as the plan for a while. Ibleo makes his first appearance since the 2021 Topham and has to be respected with the stable continuing their excellent run of form. Top Ville Ben was pulled up at Cheltenham last time, but is preferred over Mac Tottie in the battle for third.

The time to catch RIDERS ONTHE STORM has often been when fresh and he's expected to make a bold bid back from 8 months off, now operating 6 lb below the mark he defied when landing last season's Old Roan Chase on his return. Ibleo, back from a mammoth absence, could well emerge as the chief danger for the red-hot Venetia Williams stable.

Two-time course winner RIDERS ONTHE STORM goes well fresh and earns the vote on his return to action. Ibleo is second choice.

NATURALLY HIGH was well held in sixth in a class 4 event at Lingfield on his return from a 228-day break recently but the handicapper may have been kind to drop him 5lb for that display. The eight-year-old now takes a drop in grade and could be ready to strike. The main danger might be Cochise, who may have found 3m1f too far at Plumpton last time and could be seen in a better light as he now drops in distance. King Otis completes the shortlist.

NATURALLY HIGH hasn't shown much for a while but he now drops markedly in grade from a much-reduced mark for Gary Moore and a revival wouldn't come as a surprise. Chantilly Rose is potentially very interesting now going handicapping up in trip and King Otis can also go well again.

Off a very handy mark back in this grade, NATURALLY HIGH may be the answer. Hobb's Delight is second choice.

KING OF KINGSFIELD comes here off a cracking run to finish second in Grade 1 company and can get his head in front now. The Vadamos gelding was chased down by Farren Glory on the run-in in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse. He has been described as a bit of a weak finisher, but is a classy horse and his fitness and experience is a big asset. Willie Mullins talks highly of Mirazur West and he looks like an obvious danger. Ferny Hollow's brother was impressive when winning a Naas bumper back in March. James's Gate was formerly with Mullins and is an interesting runner on his first outing for Martin Brassil. The Shantou gelding was third to Facile Vega in the 2022 running of the Cheltenham Champion Bumper and returns from a lengthy absence.

It's tough to ignore the claims of KING OF KINGSFIELD given he was second in a Grade 1 last time. Mirazur West looked very promising when winning his bumper in the spring and is the obvious danger. Old Port may prove best of the remainder.

As a Grade 1 runner-up with plenty of hurdling experience, \bKING OF KINGSFIELD\ should be hard to beat back in a maiden, albeit a hot one

Runner-up to a talented sort of Henry Daly's on his debut for new connections at Stratford last month, MACANOGUE must hold every chance if building upon that effort. The six-year-old won at Kilbeggan on his previous start and he may have too much for Carlisle runner-up Askmore and Asta La Pasta, who ran a promising race on his handicap debut at Sandown earlier in the month.

ASTA LA PASTA got back firmly on track switched to a handicap in a first-time tongue strap (retained here) when third at Sandown 18 days ago, despite being left with too much to do, and this looks a good opportunity for him to defy a penalty. Taras Halls didn't get very far on his Wetherby hurdle debut but was backed as though expected to go close and retains potential. Macanogue is likely to make his presence felt, too.

Macanogue and Taras Halls make some appeal but ASTA LA PASTA did well under a big weight at Sandown and is preferred.

A faller at Warwick on his chase debut in October, Idalko Bihoue emphatically put the record straight with a seven-length romp over 2m4f at Cheltenham later that month and he is likely to have a lot more to give in this sphere, while Russian Ruler and Blow Your Wad also enter the equation as chasers on the upgrade. Top-weight GENERAL MEDRANO may have found one too good off a 1lb lower mark when bidding for a chase hat-trick over the extended 2m3f at Plumpton last month, but he remains on an upward curve and this extra furlong could unlock further improvement.

The form of GENERAL MEDRANO's latest Plumpton second was boosted by the winner and third at Newbury last week and Emma Lavelle's improving 6-y-o can take his chase record to 3-4. It turns out Blow Your Wad faced a near-impossible task attempting to concede 12 lb to subsequent Grade 1 winner Le Patron on his chase debut and he can build on that encouraging run and provide the chief threat ahead of Cheltenham-winner Idalko Bihoue.

All the runners have potential. Progressive hurdler RUSSIAN RULER can improve on his recent chase debut at Newbury and is preferred.

Gold Haven, a respectable second at Cork 16 days ago, and the competitively-weighted Be My Hero both rate as big players based on peak performances. Whereas Gamigin enters calculations running off the same mark as when he won a conditional jockeys' race at Ayr (Joker Du Chenet fifth) last time. Nevertheless, WE'LLGOWATS has held her form well sine winning at Gowran Park in September and, after a near miss at Wexford last month, her proven consistency earns her the nod.

Plenty in with chances but preference if for GOLD HAVEN, who ran her best race sporting first-time blinkers when finishing runner-up at Cork earlier this month and, provided the headgear works just as well a second time, Paul Flynn's 5-y-o can go a place better at the expense of Gamigin, who finally got off the mark at Ayr recently and races from the same mark here. St Denis's Well, Malbas and Baltinglass Hill are another trio worth keeping an eye on.

CONTRE ORDRE improved for the drop in trip when scoring over C&D on his most recent outing and the five-year-old appears likely to have more to offer, despite a 4lb rise from the handicapper. Zuckerberg won here over further on the same card as the selection and is likely to enter the reckoning. Moore Clouds and Beat The Edge are others worth considering.

None of these can be ruled out so at the likely odds it is worth siding with TRESHNISH to build on the promise of his recent Hexham fourth for his new yard and capitalise on a reduced mark. Moore Clouds is feared most on the back of his solid Musselburgh third, with Ideallko and Heros de Moutiers both weighted to have a say too.

A couple of these are course winners but preference is for IDEALLKO whose winning run ended last time but the ground here should suit.

PARTY VIBES looks a likely candidate to cut out the running and, having finished a good second in each of her two previous starts over hurdles, this presents her with a golden opportunity to gain a breakthrough success. Linda Moon, who won a bumper at Plumpton when she was last seen in April, has a solid jumps pedigree and has to be of interest on her debut run over timber, while Lily Luna also commands respect given she notably ran well here on her first start in this discipline.

Point runner-up PARTY VIBES has created a really positive impression in a pair of starts under Rules so far and she's narrowly given the nod over Lily Luna, who produced a most-promising debut effort over hurdles over C&D last month and can be expected to step forward. Dolly Delightful produced a likeable effort on hurdles debut and can complete the placings.

Second on her first two starts under rules, PARTY VIBES has shown more than enough to suggest she can win a race like this.

Connections will have been a little disappointed that JOLIE COEUR ALLEN was unable to notch up a maiden hurdles success at Tramore last month, having finished a creditable fifth in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree the start prior. She ought to have learned plenty from that experience and this looks a fine opportunity to get on the scoresheet. Picture Of You, who was narrowly denied at Cork 30 days ago, would appear to be her main danger. Others to note include Nathan Wells and Joyau De Thaix.

JOLIE COEUR ALLEN found disappointingly little when push came to shove on her hurdles debut at Tramore, but she remains a useful prospect in view of what she showed in bumpers and is taken to get the job done this time. Picture of You is the clear main danger on the back of her near miss at Cork, while Nathan Wells and likely improver Joyau de Thaix both make each-way appeal.

Preference is for PICTURE OF YOU, who would have got up in another stride at Cork last month and is going the right way

ONEWAYWEST has found only one too strong on each of his three appearances to date, including when chasing home a smart subsequent winner at Ffos Las. His initial handicap mark could prove quite lenient, although the same can be said for Bataillon, who began his British career in a good Ascot maiden. Elogio was fifth in a handicap on that same card in Berkshire, while Strackan is fancied to step forward on his first foray outside of maiden/novice company.

There should be more to come from ONEWAYWEST on this quick switch to handicaps and, representing a yard among the winners, he's just about the most persuasive option. Velasco seems sure to give a good account, with Heard That of interest now his stamina is drawn out.

Having caught the eye when a staying-on third over 2m at Hereford in April, MISTER BARCLAY gets the nod ahead of Heard That.

Farren Glory would set the standard based on his Royal Bond victory at Fairyhouse earlier this month but the form of that contest does appear to be questionable and he faces a plethora of contenders who arrive with unexposed profiles. JANGO BAIE made a bright start to his Rules career at Ascot when doing plenty wrong in the process before battling on strongly to get the better of Tellherthename. The latter showcased the form by bolting up at Huntingdon, in a contest that has already worked out well, and the selection is expected to have come on plenty from that initial experience. Favour And Fortune has done very little wrong in two hurdling starts and is respected along with Florida Dreams, who won the Grade 2 bumper here in April.

In receipt of weight from male opposition, French raider JULY FLOWER looks the one to be with having posted a smart performance when runner-up at the top level last month. Jango Baie and Tellherthename fought out the finish at Ascot last month and both look very useful prospects.

Having already won a Grade 1, Irish raider FARREN GLORY gets the vote but there are lots of possible threats, headed by Kamsinas.

This could be a very informative race for the juvenile division this season. MIGHTY BANDIT has probably been the most impressive of the three-year-olds seen in Ireland so far and he can take the next step up the ladder. The Order Of St George gelding pulled clear in some style when scoring at Punchestown last month and, unlike some of his rivals, he didn't have experience from the Flat so there looks scope for plenty of improvement. Nurburgring has to carry a penalty after his win over Kala Conti in Grade 3 company at Fairyhouse, but has to be respected. Willie Mullins saddles five and there aren't many clues on jockey bookings with Paul Townend in Kempton. Danny Mullins rides Kargese, who was a Grade 3 winner over hurdles in France and she could be a big player.

It's interesting that Jack Kennedy seemingly prefers MIGHTY BANDIT to his more-established stablemate Kala Conti. That filly can turn around recent Fairyhouse form with Nurburgring on 7 lb better terms and provide the chief threat. It'll also be fascinating to see what the betting makes of the 5 Willie Mullins runners, 4 of whom are starting out for the stable after coming over from France, Kargese possibly best of them.

VIA DANTE looked to be on course for a first career victory when a fall two out put an end to his chances at Newton Abbot in April. Raised 4lb for those exertions, the son of Milan returns in a contest that looks winnable and, with conditions in his favour, he can get the better of Annaharvey Lad who represents the in-form Sue Smith stable. Benny Baloo shaped with promise on his chasing bow at Newcastle last month and also warrants respect.

BENNY BALOO left the strong impression he should have finished much closer on his chasing debut at Newcastle last month and is fully expected to build on that with professional pilot Charlie Hammond now taking over in the saddle. Via Dante would have won at Newton Abbot in the spring but for departing late and is an obvious threat if returning in similar form, while Noche Negra and Annaharvey Lad are other interesting contenders in what looks a good race for the grade.

In a tricky race, ANNAHARVEY LAD is taken to make a winning chase debut with Via Dante and Benny Baloo also likely to go well.

A Listed winner in France last month, IL EST FRANCAIS is 2-2 over fences and could be difficult to overhaul in his bid to complete the hat-trick. The gelding was notably a Grade 1 winner over hurdles at Auteuil last year and seems to have taken very well to larger obstacles. Hermes Allen comfortably landed a Grade 2 novices' chase at Newbury at the start of this month and has to be feared, while Giovinco has also shown stacks of promise and clearly rates as the the pick of the rest.

A cracking renewal. HERMES ALLEN ran to a really high level for a chase newcomer when taking a Newbury Grade 2 on his reappearance and will be a tough nut to crack if showing up in similar form. The way Giovinco travelled at Sandown last time suggests 3m around here could be ideal for him and he's second choice ahead of exciting French challenger Il Est Francais.

The 5yo French raider IL EST FRANCAIS is a Grade 1-winning hurdler who has looked a bit special in his two chases at Auteuil.

She shades preference over Ask Anything, who arrives following an excellent second at Clonmel over 2m1f, and he will appreciate a step up in trip. Macdermott (sixth) finished behind Joshua Webb (second) when the pair met at Cork last month, but the former could close the gap with that experience under his belt.

ASK ANYTHING shaped well considering the drop back in trip was very much against him when second on chase bow at Clonmel 3 weeks ago and can go one better over this longer distance. Jumping Jet should come on for his chase debut and is next best ahead of Joshua Webb.

That said, Ridin Solo should not be underestimated on his Rules bow having won between the flags in October, while Lario and Getaway Glory are others to consider.

RIDIN SOLO was successful on his only try in points and has subsequently joined one of the top Northern stables, so he's worth taking a chance on for all that Langton Wold sets a reasonable standard. Getaway Glory is also worthy of consideration.

In an uncompetitive event it's hard to get away from Brian Ellison's LANGTON WOLD, who has posted two solid efforts over this C&D.

Love Actually and Lieutenant Rocco complete the shortlist.

This contest is likely to prove instructive in assessing the Irish staying novice hurdlers with LOUGHGLYNN and Search For Glory both promising sorts. The latter landed a Grade 3 at Cork last time and Gordon Elliott's dour stayer is likely to be firmly in the mix once again. He may struggle to concede 3lb to Willie Mullins' gelding, who showed smart form in bumpers last term and a facile success on his hurdling debut at Punchestown last month suggests that he can take high rank in this sphere. Stellar Story and Tramore winner Banprionsa appeal most of the remainder.

Gordon Elliott boasts a good recent record in this race and saddles two strong candidates in STELLAR STORY and Search For Glory. The vote goes to the former, who was a beaten favourite in a Grade 2 at Navan recently but he should have more to offer now faced with a stiffer test. Search For Glory did the job well in a Cork Grade 3 with first-time cheekpieces enlisted and another bold show is anticipated. Loughglynn and the mare Banprionsa are other promising types to consider.

The son of Court Cave hasn't been seen since being pulled up in the Ultima in March, but he has gone well when fresh previously and this would appear to have been the target. Empire Steel made a satisfactory reappearance at Kelso in October and he looks likely to give the selection most to think about, while recent Carlisle scorer Houston Texas heads the remainder.

EMPIRE STEEL shaped as if as good as ever when third at Kelso on his return and can make amends for his luckless defeat in this 2 years ago. Into Overdrive had excuses in the Ultima at Cheltenham on his final start and was highly progressive prior to that, so rates a serious threat.

The shortlist is headed by INTO OVERDRIVE and Empire Steel, who both have Rowland Meyrick form. Karl Philippe is third choice.

A winner on return/yard debut at Lingfield in November, BUCKSY DES EPEIRES again ran well and was deserving of extra credit in sustaining his effort given he was ridden more prominently than most when second at Sandown 17 days ago. He's fancied to go well again back up in trip. Sholokjack is falling in the weights and this drop in trip may help. Bingoo and Minella Drama are others to consider in a competitive affair.

Classic Lord holds major interest despite being 5lb out of the handicap but BUCKSY DES EPEIRES is preferred after his Sandown 2nd.

The six-year-old can improve for the switch to fences and he could make light work of an opening mark of 102. Dusky Days finished third behind a subsequent winner on his chase bow at Hereford in November and Jamie Snowden's inmate is feared most, ahead of Ballymagee.

SPEAKER THOMAS remains the type to do better over fences and can build on an encouraging start for Ben Pauling and come out on top. Dusky Days and Hector Jaguen are a couple of the other likely players.

The suggestion is DUSKY DAYS, who showed promise on his chase debut and can build on that, with this longer trip looking positive.

Very deep ground in Gowran may not have been ideal for PARK OF KINGS and he may be able to pick up the winning thread again. The Walk In The Park gelding has reportedly has wind issues so it was still a solid effort to finish third last time. He had won twice previously, at Roscommon and Punchestown, and there looks scope for a bit more from the five-year-old. Lazer Wolf has been knocking on the door and Conor Stone-Walsh takes a valuable 5lb off now. He could be a big contender. Riyami comes here in good form from Dundalk and is an interesting runner back over timber.

Several in with a shout but the vote goes to BELGOPRINCE, who did well to get involved given how hard he pulled early when seventh at Cheltenham last month and Tony Martin's 6-y-o can open his account over hurdles back on these shores. Lazer Wolf, Park of Kings, Dollar Nolmit and Woodstream Lad are just a handful of others all capable of getting involved, too.

Successful on three of his last four starts, Jigginstown King is a leading player, along with Poker Master, who makes his chase debut and should be suited by dropping in trip.

JAR DU DESERT looks nicely treated back over fences judged on his chasing debut win at Auteuil in May so he's the obvious choice. Jigginstown King was found to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat at Hereford on his most recent outing and can be given another chance based on his previous progress in this sphere.

It's hard to be confident about any of the five. GIOVANNI CHANGE is a reliable proposition around here over hurdles and gets preference.

Six-time Grade 1-winning hurdler CONSTITUTION HILL makes his belated seasonal bow. The Blue Bresil gelding has yet to be asked any serious questions and he looks set to maintain his unbeaten record under Rules, with his rivals likely to be fighting it out for second place. The progressive Rubaud proved a ready winner of the Elite Hurdle at Wincanton last month and Paul Nicholls' inmate may provide the most resistance to the selection. The five-year-old has won four races on the bounce and he shouldn't be disgraced at this highest level, while First Street may fare best of the remainder.

This is all about the outstanding CONSTITUTION HILL, who will surely extend his unbeaten hurdle record to 8. Rubaud has listed and Grade 2 wins to his name over this C&D and is the one likely to follow him home.

Outstanding CONSTITUTION HILL continues to set a tall standard in this division. Improving Rubaud is an interesting challenger.

The 5-y-o is taken to get the better of Heartbreak Kid, who is respected from his lower mark back over hurdles, with Golfe Clair also considered.

C&D winner HARPER VALLEY (nap) didn't get home over 3m on heavy at Aintree last time but he can resume winning ways over this trip.

SOME SCOPE showed the benefit of his chase debut experience and was value for extra when opening his account in this sphere at Catterick 32 days ago, 3 lengths clear when eased close home. A 5 lb rise for that success looks fair and he rates a big player with the prospect of more to come. No But I Will and Snipe finished 1-2 respectively at Wetherby recently and that pair head up the dangers.

There is surely improvement in NO BUT I WILL, who put up such a sound performance on his chasing debut to win at Wetherby.

Only four go to post but it's a cracking little race and FACILE VEGA can bag another Grade 1 win. The Walk In The Park gelding has had a lot to live up to with his pedigree and has done a sterling job, with four top-level successes already in the bag. The former Champion Bumper winner had a couple of reverses over timber last season, but ended the campaign on a high and was good on his chase debut at Navan last month. He looked like he would improve from that experience as well. Found A Fifty ran really well when second in Grade 1 company in the Drinmore and just looked to be outstayed late on by I Am Maximus. He may be the one to give the selection most to do. Sharjah disappointed at Fairyhouse and needs to improve on that showing. My Mate Mozzie was turned over on his chase debut at Fairyhouse, but was a smooth winner at Cheltenham last time and deserves a shot at this level.

FACILE VEGA looks sure to improve from his chase debut success at Navan last month and ought to take plenty of beating here. Found A Fifty should give him most to think about.

Jenni, who sets the standard with an official rating of 85, ought to be more than capable of getting involved on her first start for the David O'Meara team.

George Boughey took this prize 12 months ago and looks to have another likely sort in INFLUENCE who shaped well when second on his recent debut here and can go one better with improvement very much on the cards. Karl Burke's Newcastle-scorer Sports Coach rates the obvious threat, although David O'Meara's new recruit Jenni has the form to play a part if fully tuned up after a seven-month absence.

ALLAHO has won seven of his last eight and hasn't actually tasted defeat since April 2021, when outpaced by Chacun Pour Soi over 2m at Punchestown. Admittedly, the dual Ryanair hero spent a good chunk of time on the sidelines, but he looked to have lost little of his sparkle when returning with a comfortable victory in the Clonmel Oil Chase and 3m around Kempton looks absolutely ideal for him. Bravemansgame defends his crown, having accounted for Royale Pagaille by 14 lengths last season, but that form was reversed in the Betfair Chase and the suspicion lingers that Paul Nicholls' star is still feeling the effects of a gallant performance for second in the Gold Cup. Big question marks surround Shishkin after he showed the darker side to his nature on his intended Ascot comeback. The Real Whacker flopped in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, but this is more his cup of tea and he could prove a nuisance to the selection at the head of affairs.

If ALLAHO is still capable of the form he showed when demolishing a bunch of established Grade 1 chasers at Punchestown in April 2022 on his previous attempt at 3m he should come out on top. Last year's winner Bravemansgame can give him most to do, although Shishkin is also more than capable of having a big say if in the mood.

The big names have something to prove and it may well pay to take a chance on HEWICK (nap), who ran well in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The son of Telescope could prove very hard to beat today. The main threat might be Ramillies, who has won well between the flags on his last two starts and it would be no surprise to see him put it up to the selection. Its On The Line makes the most appeal of the remainder and he is more than capable on his day.

FERNS LOCK is the form pick and looked as good as ever in a point recently, so he's an obvious choice. His stablemates Vaucelet and Remillies are both dangers and Its One The Line's claims can't be ignored.

TOM CREEN has an excellent record around here and arrives at the top of his game, so is the solid option with his rivals arriving with something to prove. Touch Kick is capable off his current mark so may emerge as the biggest threat.

A couple with decent prospects but this can go to HERITIER, who is on a reasonable mark for this return to chasing for his new team.

TICKING TOM BOMB has been sent off at 40/1 in both timber runs so far but has performed better than those odds suggested possible and could be let in lightly on his handicap bow.

Little went right for GEORGI GIRL at Fakenham last time and she is best judged on her encouraging handicap debut at Hereford previously. She gets the nod. Man of The Sea and Ticking Tom Bomb head the list of dangers.

THE KING OF PRS got up in the dying strides to deny Henn See (second) by a length on his chase debut at Wexford and he would have learned a great deal from that experience. The son of Dansant shaped as if this slightly extra distance could eke out more improvement and he can confirm that form to take this. As for the latter, he went on to be victorious by just over a length at Clonmel and can put it up to the selection again. Of the remainder, Irish Blaze makes the most appeal on his first start for the Cian Collins stable.

There was only a length between THE KING OF PRS and Henn See at Wexford last month and, on the same terms, if should again be close between them. Gavin Cromwell's charge looks progressive and he is taken to emerge on top again, and complete the hat-trick in the process. Karuma Grey could be the one to pick up minor honours.

No outstanding candidate. JACKPOT DE CHOISEL remains unexposed, is bred to make a chaser and has the handy 4yo allowance.

However, the six-year-old is now 14lb higher in the ratings and fellow last-time-out winner OUR JET edges the vote. Dan Skelton's charge races off only 5lb more and he looks the better-treated of the pair. Cornerstone Lad may fare best of the remainder.

OUR JET doubled his tally over fences in a similar contest at Kempton last month and remains feasibly treated. He can follow up. The improving Special Rate is feared most.

General Officer bolted up at Doncaster 24 days ago and a subsequent 7lb rise might not be enough to stop him if turning up in a similar mood.

HEROS has made a fine start over fences, landing back-to-back Taunton handicaps in recent weeks and he looks a big player in his hat-trick bid with the prospect of more to come. Harbour Lake, on chase debut, is an intriguing contender, with Chasing Fire another fancied to figure.

His four previous attempts at the larger obstacles have hardly set the world alight, but he must be stuck with off the same mark. Captain Claude made a successful start to his chasing career here and should stay this longer trip. Pilot Show enters the equation too.

CAPTAIN CLAUDE looked all stamina when making a successful debut over fences here last month and this stiffer test is sure to suit Anthony Honeyball's charge. He could take the beating. Pilot Show could be the danger ahead of the quirky Edison Kent.

CHAVEZ was impressive when last seen at Fairyhouse in late January and is interesting here on his handicap debut. The Yeats gelding unseated early on his first outing for Willie Mullins before running out a wide-margin winner the next month. He could be nicely treated off a mark of 132. Typical Thomas comes here in fine form after a good win in a valuable contest down in Cork in October. He went up 10lb for that, which makes life a bit tougher in this company. Skippin Court ran well in a beginners chase at Wexford last month, when third to The King Of Prs, and the runner-up Henn See has boosted that form since. He's on a nice weight on his first outing in handicap company over fences.

There's still room for improving in the jumping department but CHAVEZ otherwise looked pretty good when running away with a big-field maiden chase at Fairyhouse and, on a fair mark for this handicap debut, he looks the way to go. Cayd Boy needs to get back on track but will be a threat if able to so do off this reduced mark, while The Greek is capable of a bold show and the hat-trick seeking Typical Thomas has to enter calculations, too.

The top-weight steps back into handicap company and looks the one to beat. Soar Above completes the shortlist.

MOUNT ATHOS has got firmly back on track having been gelded, successful over this trip at Kempton prior to a solid second in a French listed contest 23 days ago. He can concede weight all round and come out on top. Intervention is thriving and can't be discounted in his bid to land the 4-timer. First-time cheekpieces may put an extra edge on Misty Grey who is steadily easing in the weights.

Intervention is thriving but MOUNT ATHOS has a fine record on AW and he can take another step up the ladder and defy top weight.

King's Code had to settle for second when sent off favourite at Chelmsford but can go well off the same rating, while last-time-out C&D winner Civil Law is another to note.

LIGHT SPEED's theme of race-by-race progress continued as he brought up the hat-trick at Lingfield 3 weeks ago and, with the likelihood of more to come, he can make another bold bid on the front end. Civil Law landed this race 12 months ago and looked as good as ever when successful over C&D recently so he's feared. Felix and King's Code complete the shortlist.

Light Speed will rightly be popular but CIVIL LAW (nap) can win this race for the second year in succession.

AEROPLANE MODE would have finished closer than third with a clear run at Lingfield a fortnight ago and that performance suggests he's ready to strike. Recent C&D winner Sea Of Charm has to be of interest but can be unpredictable, while Western Stars and Suffrajet are others with strong form claims.

Plenty are in with a shout. SUFFRAJET made light of an absence when going in at Kempton and with that form working out well then Charlie Johnston's low-mileage daughter of Golden Horn is fancied to strike again. Western Stars arrives at the top of his game and is feared most, although a solid case can also be made for C&D winner Percy Willis and the returning Amazing.

Western Stars has to be high on the list but SUFFRAJET kept on well to win at Kempton and can defy a small rise in the weights.
