1st (2) (11/2 -144%) Safe Destination |
11/2(-144%) | (2) Safe Destination 11/2, Not the most reliable but returned with a career best to win at Market Rasen in September and backed it up with a good second at Fontwell (26f, good to soft) last month, so warrants respect. In good form in the autumn and this 6yo could still have more to offer; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (8/1 +0%) Ali Star Bert |
8/1(+0%) | (1) Ali Star Bert 8/1, Three-time 3m chase winner (including twice over C&D) in the mud last season but ran too badly to be true at Wetherby (24.2f, heavy) 9 days ago, labouring badly under circuit out. Immediate bounce back needed. Pulled up at Wetherby only 9 days ago but has a good record here; C&D runner-up last month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (9/4 +55%) Jessmae |
9/4(+55%) | (8) Jessmae 9/4, Successful just once from 8 starts between the flags and well held all 3 starts over hurdles. Offered a bit more tried chasing when runner-up at Market Rasen (21.4f, soft) just under 3 weeks ago and needs to build on that here. Cheekpieces applied. 3m point winner who could relish the step up in trip on this second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (14/1 +72%) Casting Aspersions |
14/1(+72%) | (7) Casting Aspersions 14/1, Runner-up both completed starts in points but only modest form shown over hurdles. Tongue tie replaced the usual hood but fared no better sent chasing on handicap debut at Ffos Las recently, so easy to look elsewhere. Lightly raced point runner-up but well beaten on last month's chase and handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (80/1 -300%) Unblinking |
80/1(-300%) | (4) Unblinking 80/1, Gained breakthrough over fences at Hereford (25f, good) in 2022/23 season and was runner-up 3 times last season. However, he ended that campaign out of sorts so tough to know what mood he'll return in. Went close last December but this 11yo was pulled up on his final two runs last season. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (7/1 +42%) Valence D'aumont |
7/1(+42%) | (5) Valence D'aumont 7/1, Tumbled down the weights and finished a well-beaten third on both outings last month. This is his first crack at 3m over fences and headgear is applied for the first time for the yard. Handicapper drops him a further 3 lb. No threat when third over 2m5f/2m4f last month but may benefit from this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (7/4 +0%) Mistymal |
7/4(+0%) | (6) Mistymal 7/4, Irish point winner who made a winning chasing debut in 8-runner handicap at Hereford in October, forging clear run-in. Went like the best horse at the weights bidding to follow up when finishing a close third there (25.2f, good) last month and remains of interest. Headgear applied. A win and a close third from his first two chase starts; cheekpieces go on; key player. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MISTYMAL has clearly benefited from the switch to fences, with a victory at Hereford backed up by his third at the same venue when beaten less than a length. The addition of cheekpieces may unlock further improvement at a track where he produced his best effort over timber, finishing runner-up in January. Safe Destination is entitled to be in the mix based on this season's efforts, while stepping up in trip appears the right move for Jessmae following his second on his chasing bow at Market Rasen.
Preference is for MISTYMAL, who made a winning debut in this sphere on return at Hereford in October and went like the best horse at the weights when narrowly denied back there just under 5 weeks ago. First-time cheekpieces go on, and he can get the better of Safe Destination, who isn't the most reliable but looks better than ever this season. Jessmae showed more than previously on his recent chase debut, so he rounds off the shortlist.
3m point winner JESSMAE could relish this step up in trip on his second chase start and he earns the vote ahead of Mistymal.

1st (9) (13/2 +19%) Margaret's Legacy |
13/2(+19%) | (9) Margaret's Legacy 13/2, Ex-French chaser who got off the mark over fences for Tim Vaughan at Market Rasen (21.4f) this time last year and backed that up with creditable second of 6 at Warwick (20f) in January. Since joined Warren Greatrex and is worth monitoring in market on yard debut. In good form when last seen and returns from absence with new yard among the winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (10/3 +5%) Bad |
10/3(+5%) | (6) Bad 10/3, Fairly useful hurdler who has ran to a similar level in a couple of starts over the larger obstacles, latest when third of 4 in handicap chase (11/8) at Ascot (18.8f, good) 24 days ago. Should give another good account. Runner-up on chase debut; would have gone closer next time if his jumping had been better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (9/1 +0%) Eaton Collina |
9/1(+0%) | (5) Eaton Collina 9/1, Likeable sort who ran out a ready winner at Wetherby (19.4f) in February and battled well to edge a tight finish from a 7 lb higher mark back at that venue later the same month. Posted creditable fifth at Chepstow on return but others look better treated here. Won final two starts last season and could benefit from October's fair reappearance fifth. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (12/1 -167%) William Cody |
12/1(-167%) | (8) William Cody 12/1, Bagged fourth success over fences when taking 5-runner handicap chase at Huntingdon (19.9f, soft) 23 days ago. 6 lb higher now but warrants respect nonetheless. Not ruled out off the back of his Huntingdon win but he has a very strong record there. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (10) (28/1 +58%) Kayce Dutton |
28/1(+58%) | (10) Kayce Dutton 28/1, No real impact in a couple of starts over hurdles for this yard, including on recent return from 14 months off at Doncaster. Hard to recommend on chasing bow. Tailed off in handicap hurdle 16 days ago when back from long absence; now goes chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (9/4 +44%) No Risk Des Flos |
9/4(+44%) | (4) No Risk Des Flos 9/4, Useful hurdle and chase winner who returned from 5 months off/wind surgery with a creditable second behind the very exciting L'eau Du Sud at Stratford (19.4f) 46 days ago. That ought to have blown the cobwebs away and he's 8 lb below his last winning mark. 0-6 during his last campaign but encouraging second on return and could build on that run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (14/1 -17%) Salamanca Bay |
14/1(-17%) | (3) Salamanca Bay 14/1, Headstrong sort who was well served by fitting of a hood when off the mark over fences for Lucinda Russell at Ayr (16.5f) in March. However, below best at Cartmel in May and he's undergone wind surgery/fitted with tongue tie ahead of debut for new yard. Makes yard debut; could be capable off this mark, but headstrong and has stamina to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (16/1 -220%) Real Stone |
16/1(-220%) | (2) Real Stone 16/1, Took apart a small field with a run under his belt at Haydock (16.3f) last November. Best effort thereafter when runner-up at Newbury in March but absent since falling at Hereford (16f) later that month and often needs an outing to bring him on. Inconsistent last season but returns on a competitive mark and is not ruled out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (40/1 -150%) Bennys King |
40/1(-150%) | (1) Bennys King 40/1, Not the force of old but has paid his way in hunters in recent seasons and signed off latest campaign with excellent second in the Foxhunters at Aintree. However, well held when unseating at Warwick on return last month and looks up against it here. Strong hunter chase form earlier this year; under pressure when unseating on reappearance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (66/1 -164%) Zaidi |
66/1(-164%) | (7) Zaidi 66/1, Inconsistent over hurdles for Gordon Elliott, running poorly at Cork when last seen in January and likely best watched on yard/chase debut here. Point winner who switches to fences on stable debut, but absence/mark are the concerns. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Olly Murphy's string continues in fine fettle and NO RISK DES FLOS has a suitable opportunity to get his head back in front. He wasn't disgraced when returning from a break to finish second at Stratford behind subsequent Grade 1 winner L'Eau Du Sud and the handicapper was kind enough to drop him 1lb. Bad has the ability to be competitive in a race of this nature, while others to note include William Cody and Real Stone.
NO RISK DES FLOS is lurking on a handy mark and made an encouraging return at Stratford in October. He gets the nod. Bad and William Cody should also go well.
Having been better than ever at the end of last season, EATON COLLINA can build upon his reappearance fifth and return to winning ways.

1st (5) (10/3 +5%) Lecky Watson |
10/3(+5%) | (5) Lecky Watson 10/3, Useful winner at 23f over hurdles. 5/1, fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (23.9f, good to soft), refusing to settle. Off 7 months. Looks pick of Willie Mullins quartet judged on jockey bookings and must enter calculations on chase debut. Good novice hurdler last term when form included a Grade 2 second to Slade Steel at Navan. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (8/15 +52%) Slade Steel |
8/15(+52%) | (11) Slade Steel 8/15, Point/bumper winner who made rapid progress over hurdles, running out a good winner of the Supreme at Cheltenham (16.4f) in March. Made a solid start to chasing career at Navan last month and will have learnt plenty from that. Supreme Novices' winner, beaten by the Martin Pipe winner on chase debut, can make amends. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (10/1 -25%) Blizzard Of Oz |
10/1(-25%) | (3) Blizzard Of Oz 10/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 19f over hurdles. Creditable fourth of 17 in minor event hurdle (13/8) at Punchestown (19.3f, good to soft). |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

40/1(-60%) | (6) Lombron 40/1, Fairly useful hurdler. Fairly useful winner at 16f over hurdles. Pulled up in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (23.8f, heavy, 20/1), left behind from 3 out. Off 8 months. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (16/1 +20%) Answer To Kayf |
16/1(+20%) | (1) Answer To Kayf 16/1, Useful hurdler. Useful winner at 19f over hurdles. 13/2, fourth of 13 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.5f, good) on debut over fences 16 days ago. Entitled to build on that. Very useful 138-rated hurdler, held by Staffordshire Knot on the evidence of chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (8/1 +0%) Staffordshire Knot |
8/1(+0%) | (12) Staffordshire Knot 8/1, Promising sort. Matched hurdles form at first time of asking in this sphere when second of 13 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.5f, good) 16 days ago. Likely more to come yet and holds solid claims. No match for the top-class Impaire Et Passe at Fairyhouse, has an edge over Answer To Kayf. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (66/1 -65%) Ataboycharlie |
66/1(-65%) | (2) Ataboycharlie 66/1, Useful hurdler. Useful winner at 16f over hurdles. 33/1, fifth of 12 in novice chase at Punchestown (18.9f, soft) on debut over fences 23 days ago, not knocked about. Open to progress. Fair novice hurdler last season, should be better for a Fairyhouse run, another tough task. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (16/1 -14%) Shanbally Kid |
16/1(-14%) | (10) Shanbally Kid 16/1, Useful hurdler. Useful winner at 20f over hurdles. 12/1, creditable third of 21 in handicap hurdle at Cheltenham (21f, heavy). Off 9 months. Switches from hurdles to chase. Others more persuasive. 135-rated hurdler who finished third in last season's Coral Cup, inferior to Lecky Watson. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (13) (250/1 -67%) Splashing Out |
250/1(-67%) | (13) Splashing Out 250/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 200/1, pulled up in novice chase at Navan (20.7f, soft) 9 days ago. Readily opposed. Solid performer over hurdles, yet to prove similarly effective in three runs over fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (250/1 -67%) Make The Plan |
250/1(-67%) | (7) Make The Plan 250/1, Pulled up in handicap hurdle (33/1) at Wexford (20f, heavy) 50 days ago, pulled up before 2 out. Makes chase debut. Best watched. Pulled up in a handicap hurdle at Wexford after a long absence, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (4) (250/1 +0%) Jeel Des Mottes |
250/1(+0%) | (4) Jeel Des Mottes 250/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Last of 7 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (20.2f, good to soft, 100/1) 31 days ago. Makes chase debut. Work to do. Lightly raced maiden hurdler, will need to pick up chasing experience. |

Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Up against it. Showed ability on only chase start last season, soundly beaten in two starts in May/June. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SLADE STEEL ought to step forward from his runner-up spot on chasing debut at Navan. Last season's Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner was expected to make a winning transition to the bigger obstacles, but he was outgunned by a worthy opponent. There is improvement to come in his jumping and it may come here as he has enjoyed racing in Naas before. Lecky Watson kept very good company over flights and was only half a length behind Slade Steel in second in a Grade 2 at Navan last year, so has to be respected on his first crack at fences. Staffordshire Knot couldn't a blow on an easy winner in Fairyhouse, but there should be races to be won with him.
Supreme Novice Hurdle winner SLADE STEEL showed enough on his chase debut at Navan last month to suggest he can make his mark in this discipline. He looks the one to beat in the opener. Staffordshire Knot and Lecky Watson are feared most in what should prove an informative contest.
Supreme Novices' winner SLADE STEEL was mastered in a tactical battle on his chasing debut. He should go one better now

1st (1) (7/4 +13%) Epic West |
7/4(+13%) | (1) Epic West 7/4, €60,000 Irish point recruit who made a successful start to his hurdle career at Carlisle (17f, good to soft) last month. Almost certainly capable of better again and should make a bold bid to defy a penalty. Maintained his gallop to win by over 7l at Carlisle (soft) and looks a good prospect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (125/1 -279%) Clearisthewater |
125/1(-279%) | (5) Clearisthewater 125/1, Point winner but hasn't shown enough in his 3 bumper starts to think he's likely to make a successful start to his hurdle career now. Point winner; beaten about 15l in his two best bumper runs; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (150/1 -88%) Kingston Bresil |
150/1(-88%) | (9) Kingston Bresil 150/1, Has hinted at ability in 2 bumpers/hurdles but unlikely to come into his own until handicapping. Opposable on bumper exploits and hasn't improved for going hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (100/1 +0%) King Of Highways |
100/1(+0%) | (8) King Of Highways 100/1, Comfortably held in 2 bumpers and a novice hurdle. Andashan looks very much the yard first string. Ran okay in his first bumper but tailed off in the second and again on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (13/2 -30%) Touquet |
13/2(-30%) | (2) Touquet 13/2, Bumper winner last November who returned from wind surgery to make a successful hurdle debut over C&D in October. Too keen when stepped up markedly in trip at Ascot since and should benefit from this return to shorter. Also has a hood refitted. C&D winner who was too headstrong at Ascot; respected with the hood back on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (66/1 -371%) Low Expectations |
66/1(-371%) | (10) Low Expectations 66/1, Promising third of 11 in a Downpatrick bumper for Paul Nolan in September. It'll be interesting to see what the betting makes of him now hurdling for new connections. Also hooded for his sole run in Ireland when a staying-on third in a Downpatrick bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (80/1 -60%) Dotties Star |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Dotties Star 80/1, Third a bumper at the start of her career but only modest on the Flat since and likely outsider now hurdling. Showed promise in bumpers but essentially modest on the Flat (0-14) thereafter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (200/1 +0%) Eklil |
200/1(+0%) | (7) Eklil 200/1, Three-time winner on the Flat but hasn't shown much in 3 attempts over hurdles, finishing down the field over C&D latest. Flat form deteriorated this year and he was 250-1 when tailed off here a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (12) (6/1 -100%) Westerton |
6/1(-100%) | (12) Westerton 6/1, Useful Flat winner. Only modest form 2 hurdles this autumn but there's surely a bigger performance in him in this sphere before long. Wears first-time blinkers. Given quality Flat form he's been underwhelming in two runs over hurdles; tries blinkers. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (3) (11/10 +60%) Andashan |
11/10(+60%) | (3) Andashan 11/10, Made a winning bumper debut at Kempton in February and bettered that form when third of 20 in a valuable event at Newbury 6 weeks later. Rates a decent hurdle prospect for a stable which gets lots of winners here. Good bumper form; makes hurdling debut and yard has a good record in this race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (200/1 -33%) Chateau Du Lys |
200/1(-33%) | (4) Chateau Du Lys 200/1, Runner-up sole start in points but no short-term promise on last month's Ffos Las hurdle debut. Tongue tied first time. Second in a point but tailed off in a Ffos Las novice hurdle when 150-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (150/1 -20%) Milan Milos |
150/1(-20%) | (11) Milan Milos 150/1, Made frame first of 3 starts in bumpers for Tom Weston but distant fifth in 2 hurdles for this yard last month. Some bumper promise but has achieved nothing in his two runs over hurdles; very opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
EPIC WEST, who swapped hands for 60,000 euros after winning a point-to-point in March, impressed with a ready success on his hurdles debut at Carlisle last month and is a highly appealing option given his strong physique suggests a 7lb penalty shouldn't be too much of an issue. Touquet, a C&D winner on his penultimate start, can surely do better than he managed at Ascot subsequently and also commands respect. Westerton looks the pick of the remainder.
ANDASHAN laid a good platform for hurdling in 2 bumper runs in the spring and is taken to make the most of the 7 lb he receives from last month's Carlisle scorer Epic West. Westerton's Flat ability suggests it's only a matter of time before he posts a bigger performance over hurdles and he could also have a say if reacting positively to blinkers.
Not many of these should count. Chris Gordon has an eyecatching record in this race and ANDASHAN had good form in bumpers.

Worth monitoring in the betting. First foal; dam a useful 2m-3m1f hurdle/chase winner for yard; not ruled out on debut. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

33/1(-136%) | (10) Santorini Grey 33/1, Cheap purchase who failed to beat a rival in a 6-runner event at Ascot on debut. This is easier and he should be more clued up, but still hard to make a case for. Ascot debut wasn't devoid of promise but the value of that form is questionable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A contest that might prove to be fairly informative with some interesting newcomers on paper. IN THE AGE cost 100,000 pounds at the Cheltenham Festival sale following a point-to-point success and that experience may stand in his favour. Jack The Nipper's dam was a Listed bumper winner and he has to be respected, as do Bebe And Bean, Cool Palmer and Loch Frisa.
IN THE AGE has already scored in points and joined a top outfit so, while there are several notable newcomers in opposition, he might be the one to side with. Bebe And Bean is the main threat ahead of Cool Palmer.
Point winner IN THE AGE makes his debut for Dan Skelton and earns the vote ahead of the Paul Nicholls-trained newcomer Bebe And Bean

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
RIGHTFOLKSPLEASE has strong credentials for this race as, when last seen in this sphere, he was just pipped by a short head in a higher grade at Sligo in October. This drying ground will suit him well. Irish Impulse has struck form with a vengeance and has a shot at the hat-trick. He began his winning run over a further trip in a handicap chase at Clonmel and followed up in a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m at Tipperary. Turbo will enjoy a return to this distance, while Ernie From Nurney's third over further in Wexford wasn't without merit. Due Course is unexposed over fences and, given the form of his stable, market support would be significant.
IRISH IMPULSE arrives in top form and may be capable of better over fences. He can score again. Ernie From Nurney and Rightfolksplease head the list of dangers.
MAHLERS COVE has run well on his last two visits to this track and he should come on plenty for his comeback run at Tipperary.

1st (3) (11/4 +21%) Alien Storm |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Alien Storm 11/4, Made a winning chase debut over 17f here in September and backed it up with a solid third of 6 in handicap chase at Kempton (2¼m) 4 weeks later. Latest Doncaster third was no more than respectable, though. Both wins have come here; respectable in defeat the last twice and not far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/1 +13%) Hugos New Horse |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Hugos New Horse 7/1, Five-time hurdle winner in a very productive 2022/23 campaign but has lost his way since, faring no better for wind surgery on Newbury reappearance. Remains to be seen if a switch to fences sparks him back to life. 5-12 over hurdles; comeback run could have put him spot-on for today's chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (6/4 +70%) Diplomatic Ash |
6/4(+70%) | (6) Diplomatic Ash 6/4, Fair maiden hurdler. Hampered and unseated early on chase debut/reappearance so effectively having his first start of the season when fourth of 8 in a 2½m Lingfield handicap chase 5 weeks ago. Entitled to come on for the outing and should go well. Promising fourth on second chase attempt and there should be further improvement to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (6/1 0%) D'jo Dela Barriere |
6/1(0%) | (5) D'jo Dela Barriere 6/1, Struck at the second time of asking for Evan Williams in 2m Hereford novice hurdle last month. Showed promise in a chase in Ireland last spring and respected now moving into handicap company. Picked up a weak novice hurdle; pointing background bodes well for this switch to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (7/2 -27%) Dubrovnik Harry |
7/2(-27%) | (1) Dubrovnik Harry 7/2, Low-mileage 8-y-o who ran well on 2 of his 3 starts in handicap hurdles last season. Third in his previous chase a couple of years ago. Has gone well fresh before. Beaten fav in previous chase two years ago; hurdling form is much respected. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
A low-mileage eight-year-old, DUBROVNIK HARRY contested deeper races over timber and may find this level provides him with an ideal test of stamina for his return to fences. A respectable third on his only previous chase start, Harry Fry's charge appeals with his potential still untapped in this discipline. D'jo Dela Barriere is notable after his facile hurdles success over 2m at Hereford. Course winner Alien Storm also enters the reckoning.
DIPLOMATIC ASH is entitled to build on what was effectively his chase debut and reappearance at Lingfield and is preferred to the returning Dubrovnik Harry.
A tight handicap. ALIEN STORM (nap) is back at the scene for both his wins and returning to further looks a good move.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (20/1 +39%) Seek Him There |
20/1(+39%) | (10) Seek Him There 20/1, Showed a bit in bumpers and shaped as if in need of the experience on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in May. Will probably do better further down the line. Runner-up on bumper debut; not shown enough in 2 hurdle runs to make him of interest today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (6/4 +25%) French Symphony |
6/4(+25%) | (4) French Symphony 6/4, Winning pointer who was placed on the first of 2 starts in bumpers in 2023/24. Sound-enough start to hurdles career with a brace od third-place finishers at up to 20f and he sets the standard down in trip on the back of a breathing op. Not yet fulfilled potential but had wind surgery since last seen and this trip can suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (17/2 +74%) Bells Of Ufford |
17/2(+74%) | (1) Bells Of Ufford 17/2, Much better effort in bumpers when fifth of 10 at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) 45 days ago. Makes hurdles debut with a tongue tie fitted. Won point bumper; fair 5th in Uttoxeter bumper last month; needs more now hurdling. |

Runner-up in Irish point; just 4-1 for hurdle debut behind talented winner but well adrift. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (66/1 -164%) On The Go |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (13) (200/1 +0%) Order Of Progress |
200/1(+0%) | (13) Order Of Progress 200/1, Took a keen hold and tailed off in well-contested 3-y-o Newbury bumper last Christmas for Tom Lacey. Third in a point in April but didn't achieve a great deal over hurdles in recent weeks. Minor bumper, point and hurdle form so far; handicaps will offer more scope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (40/1 +20%) Brave Move |
40/1(+20%) | (2) Brave Move 40/1, Failed to meet market expectations in bumpers 10 months apart and in need of the experience when third of 6 in novice at Hereford (16.2f, good) on last month's hurdles debut. Never a factor in a better race at Taunton and looks a long-term project. Minor form in bumpers and novice hurdles; future looks likely to lie in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (5) (300/1 -200%) Glenvango |
300/1(-200%) | (5) Glenvango 300/1, €12,000 3-y-o, Ocovango gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Glencassley and bumper winner Nana Joan. Sent off long odds and minor promise only both starts 11 months apart. Hinted at ability in January; tailed off at Huntingdon last month; handicaps more likely. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (12) (11/1 +0%) Tramuntana |
11/1(+0%) | (12) Tramuntana 11/1, Perfect start in 3-runner newcomers bumper at Fakenham a year ago. Little to get excited about since and looks one for handicaps. Easy task when winning bumper on debut; glimmer of promise over hurdles; can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (200/1 -203%) Tigers Moon |
200/1(-203%) | (11) Tigers Moon 200/1, Pether's Moon gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Rafferty's Return. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (9) (40/1 -60%) Out Out |
40/1(-60%) | (9) Out Out 40/1, Shaped well amidst inexperience first time up in bumper at Warwick in October 2023 but was well held on hurdling debut there 14 months later. In good hands but has a lot to prove. Clear ability when 2nd on bumper debut in 2023; well adrift on hurdle debut; do better. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LAND OF MOON just failed to open his account at Uttoxeter last month and looks to have been found a suitable opportunity. The five-year-old is having only his third outing over timber and he edges the vote over French Symphony, who has finished third on both hurdle appearances to date and a recent wind procedure makes him a live threat. Lanesborough may come into his own once over further, but he still warrants respect.
Most of these look long-term projects so French Symphony could be the answer on the back of a breathing operation having displayed ability in bumpers and over hurdles. Land of Moon is the obvious threat, for all Lanesborough is a potential improver.
This trip should suit FRENCH SYMPHONY and he makes the most appeal in his first run since undergoing wind surgery.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
French-recruit Karbau could be anything after winning by a wide margin on the level in his native country. He is the sole Closutton representative and the market is likely to revolve around him. An each-way chance is taken on BOWENSONFIRE who was the subject of a favourable report in a recent stable tour. He is expected to cut much more ice hurdling than he did in his sole bumper. Shuffle The Deck showed plenty of promise in third in a Punchestown maiden hurdle. Eastern Legend finished well behind Shuffle The Deck in fourth, but then finished a close second at Navan to strengthen the form. Henry de Bromhead introduces two point-to-point recruits in Quantum Quest and Pookie Holler who cannot be ruled out.
SHUFFLE THE DECK is given the chance to build on a promising effort at Punchestown last month, although a strong market move for Willie Mullins French bumper recruit Karbau would put a different slant on things. Quantum Quest cost a bit after placing in a point and is another interesting contender.
Willie Mullins has scored with several French recruits of late and AQPS winner KARBAU could be another one here

1st (3) (4/1 -45%) Jail No Bail |
4/1(-45%) | (3) Jail No Bail 4/1, Shaped with encouragement when fifth in a Chepstow bumper in November 2022. Amiss on hurdling debut the following month but much better effort when third at Wincanton 11 months on. Off a further 12 months but should have more to offer. Improved third at Wincanton 13 months ago; strong claims if returning in the same form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (13/8 -8%) Ken Roy |
13/8(-8%) | (4) Ken Roy 13/8, Fair form when third in 2 bumpers earlier in the year. Shaped like a stayer when fourth on hurdles bow over 19.5f at Lingfield last month and upped slightly in trip here, there should be plenty more to come. Similar form in his three races and he's up to winning something like this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (15/8 +77%) Bold Recruit |
15/8(+77%) | (1) Bold Recruit 15/8, Five-race maiden pointer but showed fair form when runner-up in a pair of bumpers at the start of the summer. Didn't achieve a great deal despite occupying same spot on hurdles debut at Hereford last month but he's capable of better upped in trip. The form of his last two races have been franked and he should hold a good chance. |

4th (5) (13/2 +54%) Minella Kaiser |
13/2(+54%) | (5) Minella Kaiser 13/2, Second foal, dam, maiden hurdler/over fences who became temperamental (stayed 2½m), half-sister to fair hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3½m) Mattock Ranger. Placed on first of 2 starts in Irish points, last of 8 finishers last time (Apr 7). Placed in one of his Irish points and he's joined a good yard for rules action. |

5th (7) (100/1 -100%) Laddie Cooper Mia |
100/1(-100%) | (7) Laddie Cooper Mia 100/1, Shaped like a stayer in 3 bumpers and remote second of 4 in novice hurdle at Sedgefield (19.8f, good) on hurdles bow last month. Wasn't seen to best effect at Lingfield but looks a longer-term project. A distance behind the winner when second at Sedgefield and a similar story at Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 -186%) Rocks Up Late |
40/1(-186%) | (6) Rocks Up Late 40/1, €52,000 3-y-o, Vadamos gelding. Dam (h107), 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to high-class hurdler/useful unbeaten chase winner (stayed 21f) Wicklow Brave. Makes appeal on pedigree but pulled up sole start in points and little short-term promise in a Sedgefield bumper last month. Up in trip. Odds-on when pulled up in his point and only 100-30 when beaten 9l in a Sedgefield bumper. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (40/1 -60%) Jack Sparrow Grey |
40/1(-60%) | (2) Jack Sparrow Grey 40/1, Mere glimmers of ability in a Sandown bumper and a C&D novice last winter. Off a year and never involved on return to action over 2m here a fortnight ago. Not a bad debut in a Sandown bumper but hasn't built on that in two hurdles here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (50/1 -127%) Onomaris |
50/1(-127%) | (8) Onomaris 50/1, Dunaden mare. Dam (h67) bumper winner. Minor promise on debut at Lingfield 18 days ago and should know more this time. Fourth of the nine runners at Lingfield (2m3f, soft) but trailed the winner by 31l. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Bold Recruit has been consistent by finishing second on his three previous starts under Rules. However, that tendency to find one too good brings enough doubt to cast a vote for the Paul Nicholls-trained KEN ROY, who is in the right hands to make progress and is entitled to be sharper after his jumping bow on his return to action at Lingfield. Jail No Bail and Onomaris are a couple of other potential improvers to consider.
Having shown a fair level of ability in bumpers, KEN ROY made a sound start to his hurdles career when fourth at Lingfield a month ago. Sure to build on that with that slightly longer trip in his favour, he looks the answer in favour of Jail No Bail and Bold Recruit.
The suggestion is BOLD RECRUIT who has had the form of his last two races franked in a big way.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/1 -38%) Gore Point |
9/1(-38%) | (6) Gore Point 9/1, Flat-bred gelding who got back on track following 10 months off when winning 5-runner bumper at Stratford in October, making all and quickening clear straight. Too free and on the retreat when falling on hurdles debut. Hood may help. Bumper winner who fell on hurdling debut but he's in the mix on this drop back in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (100/1 0%) Les's Jersey Royal |
100/1(0%) | (8) Les's Jersey Royal 100/1, Held back by inexperience in a Kempton bumper in February but, after 9 months off, he showed some promise sent hurdling when fifth of 12 in maiden at Leicester (20.5f) in November. Drop to 2m looked against him at Taunton since. Well held in first two runs and was tailed off last time; remains best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (66/1 -65%) Ballela Blaze |
66/1(-65%) | (1) Ballela Blaze 66/1, Conduit gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Clues And Arrows and modest hurdler/chaser Banna Beach, stayed 2¾m. Dam unraced. 40/1(+60%) | (12) Alexandra Larose 40/1, Sister to bumper winner/useful 2¾m hurdle winner Shannon Royale. Minor promise on second of 2 starts in bumpers back in the spring for Georgina Nicholls but never dangerous both hurdles outings in recent weeks. 200/1(+0%) | (13) Dunstall Angel 200/1, Glimmers of ability in a couple of bumpers last season but no form over hurdles so far. Well beaten in two bumpers and she struggled in two hurdle runs last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The switch to more positive tactics saw BOND BROKER make all in a bumper at Fakenham last season. Paul Nicholls' five-year-old was a winner on his sole outing between the flags and he's fancied to make a successful hurdles bow on his return to action. Although Gore Point fell on his timber debut at Taunton last month, he seemed too keen for that 2m3f distance and better is expected. Benmore is also noted.
BOND BROKER outclassed 6 rivals in a bumper at Fakenham when last seen in April and with, this sharp 2m in his favour now hurdling, he'll take a fair bit of stopping. Kapal Layar is open to improvement, with Benmore another to consider.
The vote goes to point and bumper winner BOND BROKER, who could have a good future at this new discipline.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
There isn't a lot of depth to this race and perhaps HEARTS AND SPADES can take advantage of that. He has one notable run in the book when fourth behind a more than useful horse in a Navan maiden hurdle. His rating of 105 entitles him to be heavily involved. Colonel Nelson is one to consider after banking fourth places on hurdle debut at Punchestown and in a bumper at Clonmel. Solsbury Hill ran a fair race in seventh over a shorter trip at this racecourse last month and he can improve upon that. There is likely more to come from Hills Of Glory, while Interchangeable could get in the mix.
COLONEL NELSON brings the most solid form to the table in a weak race and, although Interchangeable's latest effort would give him a chance, he's not certain to back it up. Hearts And Spades can also be considered but the market is likely to be informative overall.
COLONEL NELSON shaped okay on his hurdling debut at Punchestown and looks the most solid option stepping up in trip.

1st (1) (6/5 +13%) Lady Balko |
6/5(+13%) | (1) Lady Balko 6/5, On a roll in handicap hurdles last season, completing a hat-trick at up to 3m. Shaped as if needing the run on return/chase debut and marked herself as a young staying chaser to follow when winning 6-runner handicap chase at this C&D (soft) 2 weeks ago. Will improve again. Made all for an easy win over C&D recently; 9lb rise to deal with but hard to fault. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (14/1 -460%) Northern Poet |
14/1(-460%) | (3) Northern Poet 14/1, Recorded a hat-trick switched to fences in the second half of 2022/23. Seen only 3 times last season and ran creditably in first-time cheekpieces when second of 4 to Copperhead at this C&D (good to firm) back in May. Has gone well fresh previously so he's a likely contender (has had a wind op). The form of his latest second here in May reads well; has since had a wind operation. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (4/1 +33%) Sadler's Bay |
4/1(+33%) | (6) Sadler's Bay 4/1, Fair maiden hurdler who took well to fences season, finishing runner-up in 3m handicaps at Southwell and Exeter. Wasn't disgraced after 10 months off when third at Market Rasen (21.4f, soft) recently and that should've blown away any cobwebs. Tongue tie applied. Latest third at Market Rasen was after 308 days away and over a trip short of his best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/2 +31%) Village Master |
9/2(+31%) | (4) Village Master 9/2, Won first 5 outings over fences. latest in 26f handicap at Fontwell in June. Had another wind op prior to return and lost his unbeaten record in this sphere with a whimper after 5 months off at Ffos Las (23.8f, good to soft) just over 5 weeks ago. Must bounce back fitted with cheekpieces. Won his first five chases and latest run after a break was too bad to be true. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (28/1 -180%) Foxboro |
28/1(-180%) | (2) Foxboro 28/1, Proved at least as good as ever when scoring at Exeter (30.7f, heavy) 12 months ago but laboured efforts on his next 3 starts. Has since switched yards ahead of this return so a watching brief advised with usual headgear discarded. Strong stayer but inconsistent and has changed yards; usually wears some headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (33/1 -175%) Born At Midnight |
33/1(-175%) | (5) Born At Midnight 33/1, Dual C&D winner and he signed off last season with a good second of 11 in handicap chase at this C&D in the spring. Proved easy to back after 8 months off and looked very rusty here (soft) a fortnight ago and now first-time cheekpieces go on. Excellent record over C&D but he ran very flat in Lady Balko's race here two weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
LADY BALKO relished the step up in trip when landing the spoils over C&D a fortnight ago. That was just the five-year-old's second outing over fences and she scored with enough in hand to suggest that a 9lb hike in the ratings won't prevent her from following up. Village Master racked up a five-timer earlier in the year and he can be excused his reappearance when pulled up at Ffos Las after being hampered twice. Warren Greatrex's charge is feared most, ahead of the returning Northern Poet.
LADY BALKO marked herself as a young chaser to follow when scooting clear over C&D a fortnight ago, so she's taken to defy a 9 lb rise at the expense of Sadler's Bay, who wasn't disgraced after 10 months off when third at Market Rasen recently and now heads back up in trip fitted with a first-time tongue tie. Northern Poet has gone well fresh previously, so he completes the shortlist.
Lady Balko is hard to knock but one who might get the better of her is SADLER'S BAY, who certainly deserves a break.

40/1(-150%) | (5) Little Miller 40/1, £23,000 5-y-o, Court Cave mare. Dam unraced. Won her sole start in Irish points in January so she's worth a market check and possibilities. Won a point on debut in January but the form of that race looks modest; sold for £23,000. |

9th (6) (150/1 -200%) Molly Mason |
150/1(-200%) | (6) Molly Mason 150/1, Related to winners but she hasn't offered any short-term encouragement over hurdles at Ludlow and Warwick recently. Half-sister to three winners but beaten a long way on her first two starts. |

150/1(-50%) | (10) Troubleisontheway 150/1, Being brought along steadily, seventh of 8 in novice hurdle (200/1) at Doncaster (19.4f, good) 16 days ago. Can do better in the longer term. She's bred to win races but has finished tailed off on all three starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (200/1 0%) Lily's Ruby |
200/1(0%) | (4) Lily's Ruby 200/1, 200/1, last of 12 in bumper at Worcester 61 days ago. Much more needed on her hurdles debut up in trip. Tailed off at 200-1 on debut in a bumper at Worcester (2m, soft) in October. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CRAZIERTHANDAISY was a beaten short-priced favourite on her jumping bow over 2m at Uttoxeter, but her second still offered encouragement and compensation could be on the cards. Nicky Henderson's bumper winner should relish this trip and any improvement will make her tough to beat. The biggest threat may emerge from Jesuila Des Mottes, who posted her best effort to date when a staying-on third at Lingfield last month. Jakana is the pick of the remainder.
Nicky Henderson's Walk In The Park mare CRAZIERTHANDAISY shaped well on her hurdling bow when runner-up at Uttoxeter and this fairly useful bumper scorer can go one better now. Market Rasen third Zarhanya also has better days ahead of her and is next on the list ahead of Jesuila des Mottes and Jakana who can fight it out for minor honours.
This could go to JAKANA, who has shaped as though she will improve for this step up in trip on her second hurdle start.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KAROLINE BANBOU is a fascinating runner on her first outing for Willie Mullins. The No Risk At All filly was a Grade 3 bumper winner in her native France and was last seen finishing second in Grade 1 company at Fontainebleau in November of last year. She could be a very smart addition to the Closutton team. Mullins has a strong hand as he also saddles Listed bumper winner Baby Kate. The daughter of Augusta Kate disappointed at Aintree and is better than that showing. Qualimita was turned over at a short price on her hurdling debut at Navan last month and needs to improve on that run.
BABY KATE failed to deliver when a strong favourite for a Grade 2 bumper in the spring but she looked good prior to that and she couldn't be in better hands now hurdling. She's awarded the vote but a case can definitely be made for Qualimita, Amboyna and Karoline Banbou (a stablemate of the selection).
Gordon Elliott's QUALIMITA shaped with plenty of promise at Navan last month. She will strip fitter now and should improve plenty.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (15/2 -7%) Macari |
15/2(-7%) | (1) Macari 15/2, Course winner. Below-form fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle over C&D 14 days ago. Sort to bounce back though. Running well until his run here two weeks ago; likely to threaten at this lower level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (80/1 -400%) Jewel Eyed Judy |
80/1(-400%) | (5) Jewel Eyed Judy 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden who offered little after 7 months off when sixth of 15 in novice hurdle at Warwick (19f, soft) 25 days ago. Much more required now going into handicaps. Goes handicapping off a low mark but with it all to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (28/1 +44%) Onnaroll |
28/1(+44%) | (11) Onnaroll 28/1, Remains a maiden after 20 runs and he came in only sixth of 9 in handicap hurdle at Warwick (16f, good) 41 days ago. Up in trip with work to do. Longstanding maiden who has struggled to get competitive this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (8/1 +50%) Trevor's Lad |
8/1(+50%) | (3) Trevor's Lad 8/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who took a step back in the right direction when fifth of 15 in handicap at Ffos Las (20f, good to soft) 36 days ago. Possibilities. The best of his five runs was on debut when placed in a Fontwell novice; must step up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (5/4 +50%) Whynotnowroy |
5/4(+50%) | (7) Whynotnowroy 5/4, Signed off for Keiran Burke with 2m5f Fontwell success in May and resumed for his new stable with an excellent second of 10 in handicap hurdle there 29 days ago. Leading claims off an unchanged mark. Probably bumped into one well treated at Fontwell; respected off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (50/1 +0%) Simon The Seagull |
50/1(+0%) | (9) Simon The Seagull 50/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who was pulled up in handicap here (25f) in April. Needs to take a major step forward on his seasonal return. Hasn't shown much at all in his five races, including a handicap over 3m1f; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (10/1 +50%) Red Windsor |
10/1(+50%) | (2) Red Windsor 10/1, Sole success came over 2 years ago and arrives on back of poor efforts in cheekpieces at Warwick and Wincanton recently. Visor is reached for now. Very well handicapped but for good reason after his struggles this past 12 months. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (66/1 -164%) Feach Amach |
66/1(-164%) | (6) Feach Amach 66/1, Struck at the third time of asking over hurdles at Sedgefield last November but has failed to kick on in handicaps subsequently, though, coming in last of 12 on her return. Tongue tied now with lots to prove. Juvenile winner; not much of a threat in five handicaps, especially last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A 6lb rise for MUTLEY CREW's victory at Fontwell looks on the lenient side. The second added substance to the form when runner-up at Uttoxeter and Robert Walford's unexposed mare should prove tough to beat. Whynotnowroy found only a handicap debutant too strong at Fontwell and isn't taken lightly racing off an unchanged mark. Jewel Eyed Judy is worth a market check on her entry into handicap company.
WHYNOTNOWROY made a promising start for Neil Mulholland when runner-up at Fontwell last month and is weighted to go one better here. Mutley Crew looked an improved model when going in at the same track in October and is feared most after a break, while course winner Tara Iti and the lightly-raced Trevor's Lad can also have a say.
After bumping into one on a good mark on her recent stable debut, WHYNOTNOWROY is taken to go one better.

2nd (2) (14/1 +0%) Pottersjetamay |
14/1(+0%) | (2) Pottersjetamay 14/1, Third in maiden/novice hurdles for Charlie Longsdon in the spring but last of 5 on his Uttoxeter handicap debut for new stable 3 weeks ago. Needs to have come on a lot. Well beaten on last month's stable/handicap debut; hard to be confident after that. |

3rd (8) (6/1 -9%) De Vega's Warrior |
6/1(-9%) | (8) De Vega's Warrior 6/1, A frustrating maiden handicapper on Flat (stays 16.5f) and minor promise in his qualifying runs over hurdles this autumn. Handicaps provide him with a more realistic chance, though, and his yard had a winner last week. Flat maiden; well beaten on all three hurdle runs but not ruled out off lowly opening mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (7/1 +30%) Danny's Friend |
7/1(+30%) | (7) Danny's Friend 7/1, Hasn't made an impact in 3 handicap starts but he may have needed the latest one after here (2m) after 5 months off. Back up in trip. Still relatively early days. Hint of promise over 2m4f at Worcester in July; could be a contender now back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (11) (5/1 +38%) Nothinelsematters |
5/1(+38%) | (11) Nothinelsematters 5/1, Poor maiden hurdler who offered little after 6 months off at Ludlow in October and unseated early on his chase debut the following month. Two fair efforts in the spring and not written off each-way now back over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (4/1 +20%) Ballydangan |
4/1(+20%) | (6) Ballydangan 4/1, Maiden who hasn't shown an immediate benefit for the switch to the Dan Skelton yard but it's probably only a matter of time before he does. Well beaten on both stable starts but top trainer may find the key at some stage. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (1) (4/1 -45%) Easter Icon |
4/1(-45%) | (1) Easter Icon 4/1, Fair handicapper on the Flat and left his qualifying form over hurdles well behind when landing a handicap at Fontwell in August. Subsequent Ascot third was creditable and he rather stands out as an in-form sort in this line up. Four-time Flat winner; has run well in first two handicap hurdles; holds solid claims. |

|PU| (10) (10/1 -67%) Kings Justice |
10/1(-67%) | (10) Kings Justice 10/1, Did well over fences last season, winning once and runner-up on 3 other occasions. Off since finishing a below-form fourth at Fakenham in May. |PU| (3) (18/1 -13%) Diamand De Vindecy |
18/1(-13%) | (3) Diamand De Vindecy 18/1, Placed in a Taunton handicap hurdle off 3 lb higher in February and successful on the Flat at Haydock in June. Has lost his way in that sphere since ahead of this return to hurdles. Five-time Flat winner but out of form in that code on his last few starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (66/1 -164%) Kuma Beach |
66/1(-164%) | (9) Kuma Beach 66/1, Well held in bumper/3 hurdles earlier in the year but one to keep an eye on in the market now handicapping after a break. Hasn't shown much but goes handicapping off a lowly mark and a market check is advised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (125/1 -525%) A Day To Dream |
125/1(-525%) | (4) A Day To Dream 125/1, Modest on Flat and over hurdles for Ollie Pears. Has switched to Mike Sowersby since his latest start at Hexham 38 days ago. Tailed off on final run for Ollie Pears but fair 3rd previously; e-w shout if back on song. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EASTER ICON won on his handicap bow at Fontwell before running with plenty of credit when third at Ascot last month. This doesn't look anywhere near as strong on paper and the five-year-old appears to have been found an excellent opportunity to strike again. De Vega's Warrior might step forward on his handicap debut, while similar comments apply to Kuma Beach.
In a contest where the majority have a point to prove the obvious one is top-weight EASTER ICON. Ballydangan hasn't shown much obvious promise in 2 outings for Dan Skelton but he'll likely click before long and a market move would make him a threat. Danny's Friend can build on a recent outing here after a break and prove best of the remainder.
The vast majority of these have something to prove but EASTER ICON (nap) is a glaring exception and he can add to his August win.

16/1(-14%) | (13) Carslake 16/1, Arrives well below par over fences for Aengus King. Needs this yard switch to spark a major resurgence. Very weak form, still only five, feasible that Charles Byrnes can transform his fortunes. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
O'FAOLAINS GLORY ran well in a competitive contest at Navan and a similar effort may be enough to get her on the scoresheet again. The Fame And Glory mare showed marked improvement on previous efforts when third to Love Me and, off just 2lb higher, looks to be on a rating that she can win off. She scored off this mark over fences at Downpatrick in May. Backfromtheraces ran well on her handicap debut when chasing home Inchiquin Star at Wexford in late October and could be a danger. Bishbashbosh is unexposed and might be one to note on her first outing for Ross O'Sullivan.
A case can be made for a few of these but NO BIG DEAL looks the way to go on the back of his promising Limerick fourth. Navan third O'Faolains Glory is next on the list with Petit Dejeuner, Backfromtheraces and Ghumama also in the picture.
A winner off an equivalent chase mark in May, O'FAOLAIN'S GLORY has solid claim on current hurdles form following a Navan third

1st (2) (6/4 +8%) I Shut That D'or |
6/4(+8%) | (2) I Shut That D'or 6/4, Returned to form when scoring over C&D last month and was only collared close home in follow-up bid at Wincanton (20.2f, good to soft) 25 days ago. Likely contender. C&D winner who jumped to his left when narrowly beaten at Wincanton; player. |

2nd (6) (16/1 +43%) Shaw's Cross |
16/1(+43%) | (6) Shaw's Cross 16/1, Veteran who gained his first chasing success at this course (17f) in January 2023. Rather hit-and-miss since, though, and makes limited appeal. 2 lb out of the handicap. Hasn't threatened in eight starts since going close in this race 12 months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (25/1 -233%) Pleasure Garden |
25/1(-233%) | (4) Pleasure Garden 25/1, Fair 4-time winner at up to 2m on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott. Followed winning chase debut at this course (17f) in April 2023 with a couple of respectable efforts in defeat but he's entitled to need this run on the back of a 18-month absence. Course winner in good form when last seen; market helpful returning from 545 days away. |

4th (3) (11/2 -100%) Mutual Respect |
11/2(-100%) | (3) Mutual Respect 11/2, Won back-to-back handicaps at Worcester and Bangor this autumn and arrives on back of creditable second of 6 at Sedgefield (16.4f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Races off same mark here and holds solid claims. Bang in form and still competitively treated; today's longer distance won't faze him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (18/1 +10%) Millies Mite |
18/1(+10%) | (5) Millies Mite 18/1, Seemed suited by the switch to prominent tactics when off the mark at the twenty-seventh attempt at Fontwell (19.5f) in April. However, she has failed to fire more recently, including on recent return at Lingfield. Hasn't kicked in from her Fontwell win over this far in April and she's now 1-31 overall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (9/4 +44%) Hidalgo Des Bordes |
9/4(+44%) | (1) Hidalgo Des Bordes 9/4, Made a winning debut over fences at Exeter (17.5f) in April and back to that sort of form when creditable third of 6 in handicap chase at Fontwell (19.5f) in May. Remains low mileage and warrants respect on return. Had wind operation. Two of his three chase runs have been good; might just be high enough in the weights. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Not beaten far in his attempt to land a double at Wincanton last month, I SHUT THAT D'OR was a comfortable winner over C&D on his penultimate outing and a return to this track is a major plus. A mark of 100 still looks manageable and he is preferred to Hidalgo Des Bordes, who has had wind surgery since finishing third at Fontwell in May. A winner twice before occupying the runner-up berth at Sedgefield, Mutual Respect is another key player.
Course-winner I SHUT THAT D'OR confirmed his return to form at Wincanton last month and still looks fairly treated. He can land the spoils. Mutual Respect rates the chief threat.
This may go the way of I SHUT THAT D'OR who might well have followed up his C&D win at Wincanton had he not kept jumping left.

6/1(+25%) | (5) Job 6/1, Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who came in a below-par fourth of 6 in novice hurdle at Uttoxeter (19.9f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Not written off now stepping up in trip for his handicap debut. Unexposed 5yo and he needs watching in market upped to 3m on handicap debut. |

2nd (4) (5/2 -33%) Magical Arthur |
5/2(-33%) | (4) Magical Arthur 5/2, Continues to progress, making it 3 wins in his last 4 starts at Plumpton (25f, good) 28 days ago. Up 4 lb but he is taken to defy the handicapper again. Won three of his last four and he's open to more progress at staying trips; key player. |

3rd (1) (15/8 +53%) My Gift To You |
15/8(+53%) | (1) My Gift To You 15/8, Scored over fences at Sedgefield in October and backed it up with a solid third of 5 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (26.1f, good to soft) 30 days ago. This course winner is much respected back in this sphere. Won off 1lb lower over fences on penultimate run; not ruled out back over hurdles. |

4th (3) (4/1 -100%) Prince De Juilley |
4/1(-100%) | (3) Prince De Juilley 4/1, Gained a deserved win at Ludlow in October and advanced his form when second of 9 in handicap hurdle at Doncaster (24.4f, good) 17 days ago. Likely player. Won at Ludlow before runner-up at Doncaster last month; up another 3lb but he's respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (2) (8/1 +43%) Isthebaropen |
8/1(+43%) | (2) Isthebaropen 8/1, Course winner who posted a creditable fourth of 9 in handicap hurdle here (20.4f, good) 31 days ago. Very much one to consider granted this stiffer test of stamina. His last win was in 2022 and he's not threatened in four runs this year; others preferred. |

|PU| (6) (66/1 -164%) East Eagle |
66/1(-164%) | (6) East Eagle 66/1, Still a maiden and he was pulled up in handicap hurdle at Market Rasen (23.1f, good) 32 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Inconsistent eight-race maiden who was pulled up last time and others are more convincing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
MAGICAL ARTHUR continued his fine run of form when making it three wins from his last four outings at Plumpton. The six-year-old may not have been at his very best on that occasion, having won more impressively the week before at Kempton, and a longer turnaround between his races gives him every chance to progress further. Prince De Juilley enters the reckoning along with Job, who makes his first start in handicap company.
MAGICAL ARTHUR is thriving under the expert tutelage of Jennie Candlish and taken to make light of a 4 lb rise for his Plumpton success and bag another victory. The reliable Prince de Juilley should ensure he doesn't have things all his own way though, with Isthebaropen and Job also worthy of consideration.
Prince De Juilley is respected, but preference is for MAGICAL ARTHUR, who has won three of his last four starts.

10/3(+5%) | (6) Scope To Improve 10/3, £9,000 3-y-o, Telescope gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Schalke. Dam, unraced, closely related to smart hurdler/top-class chaser (stayed 3¼m) Monalee. Easy winner sole start in points (May 4). Big player on Rules debut. Beat a subsequent winner by 12l in a five-runner maiden point in May, interesting recruit. |

2nd (3) (9/2 +44%) Ifallgoeswell |
9/2(+44%) | (3) Ifallgoeswell 9/2, Once-raced maiden. Brought down in bumper (2/1) at Galway (16.6f, good to soft) on NH debut 69 days ago. Significant that he was sent off short on debut, so can't be dismissed. Joint-favourite on debut, hampered and brought down early, this looks a stronger race. |

Dam won a bumper, trainer/rider combination prospering in point-to-points this term. |

One to take seriously on debut. Relatively cheap store purchase for a horse from this stable but merits automatic respect. |

9th (10) (40/1 +0%) Pounds At The Time |
40/1(+0%) | (10) Pounds At The Time 40/1, Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. Second of 11 in bumper at Tramore (16.2f, heavy, 50/1) on bumper debut 20 days ago. Needs to do more. Behind Romany Brown over hurdles at Clonmel, improved from that when second in a bumper. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Willie Mullins has a terrific strike-rate in bumpers and it would be no surprise if KARA DE THAIX made a winning start here. The Jeu St Eloi filly cost 26,000 euro as a store and is a half-sister to three winners in France, including a horse who was Grade 2-placed over fences. Romany Brown has a couple of nice runs under his belt and commands respect. He just lost out by a head over hurdles at Clonmel last month. Another track newcomer to note is point-to-point winner Scope To Improve. The Telescope gelding makes his first start for Henry de Bromhead having been an easy winner between the flags on his debut at Necarne in May.
SCOPE TO IMPROVE won his point in facile style and has joined a top yard, so a chance is taken on him to maintain his unbeaten record starting out under Rules. Kara de Thaix is of obvious interest on debut given her pedigree/connections and Ifallgoeswell, who was sent off 2/1 when brought down on debut, needs considering.
Second in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel, ROMANY BROWN has a fighting chance with the help of Evan Dwan's 7lb claim.

Makes plenty of appeal on pedigree and represents a stable in great form. Interesting newcomer for a yard with a record of 5-16 in bumpers at this track. |

17/2(-6%) | (5) Comely Capri 17/2, Cracksman filly. Half-sister to 1m/9f winner Yusra. Dam South African 1m winner. Should have enough speed for this sort of test. Trained-owned half-sister to 1m AW winner Yusra (RPR 83); yard wins bumpers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A promising third at Warwick on debut in November last year, despite being slowly into stride, MUSTANG BETTY is likely to have plenty of improvement forthcoming on the rise in distance and she can get off the mark. Chique Angel was over five lengths behind the selection in fourth but still enters the reckoning, along with Appleshaw, who is an interesting newcomer for the Harry Fry team. Related to multiple winners, Media Style must also be monitored for market support first time out.
CHIQUE ANGEL has been off the track since an encouraging debut at Warwick (when very green) over a year ago and she can improve enough to open her account at the second attempt. Mustang Betty has also been off a good while since a positive start, but she's feared most ahead of the well-bred newcomer Media Style.
A chance is taken on MEDIA STYLE whose yard has a 31% strike-rate in bumpers at Plumpton. Easy Love is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
My Turn Now was a surprise winner at Chelmsford but finished full of running and, with that being her first appearance after wind surgery, she rates a key player off just 3lb higher. However, DARKENED EDGE has been consistent since the summer and having returned from a short break with a respectable third over C&D, Chris Mason's filly can step forward for a first all-weather success off 1lb lower. Beneficiary and My Delilah complete the shortlist.
SECOND COLLECTION was fifth to My Turn Now last time but she's lurking on an appealing mark and blinkers could spark more of a revival, so she's fancied to turn the tables with that rival. Suanni was second in the same race and should be involved once more.
Preference is for C&D winner MY TURN NOW (nap), who returned from wind surgery with a convincing win at Chelmsford last month.

200/1(-809%) | (11) Juliet Sky 200/1, Once-raced filly. 50/1, seventh of 8 in novice at Kempton (6f) on debut 26 days ago. Much more needed. Not far behind Best Of All at Kempton; may do better over the extra furlong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SOLDIERS STAR went agonisingly close over 6f on his racecourse debut at Newcastle. After a slow start, the son of Soldier's Call finished with a determined effort to go down by just a short head and, with an additional furlong sure to suit on pedigree, this appears a good opportunity for him to go one place better. Best Of All and Well Enough are the pick of the others with experience, with Deira Storm an appealing newcomer.
SOLDIERS STAR and Well Enough both arrive on the back of promising debuts and should have more to offer, so they might well fight this out, with the former marginally preferred. Deira Storm is one of a handful of interesting newcomers in opposition.
The form pick is SOLDIERS STAR, ahead of Well Enough. The shortlist is completed by Best Of All and Deira Storm.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Lovesick and Moby Quick appeal most of those with experience, but the bar isn't set too high for MULLWARCHAR to have a big impact on his racecourse bow. A close relative of Listed winner and Park Hill runner-up Aljezeera, the son of Ulysses looks the part on paper and, with his yard having enjoyed plenty of success with similar types on the all-weather over the last 12 months, this could be the perfect starting point for him.
MULLWARCHAR is bred to be useful and given those with form do not set an exacting standard, he may well be up to the task on debut. Rogue Officer and Lovesick should be on the premises.
With improvement likely, LOVESICK is taken to emulate her useful dam by scoring second time out. Mullwarchar is second choice.

15/2(-36%) | (5) Packetofbiscuits 15/2, Thrice-raced maiden. Second of 7 in maiden at Newcastle (6f, 3/1) 23 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Could have more to offer. Went close at Newcastle and he's open to more progress now upped to 7f on nursery debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SEX ON FIRE is unbeaten on an artificial surface and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the son of Dark Angel gained a third career success on his return to nursery company. Packetofbiscuits shaped as though the extra furlong would aid her cause when runner-up at Newcastle last month, while Newmarket novice winner Misty Sky is feared most of the remainder.
Newmarket novice winner MISTY SKY looks on a fair opening mark and can provide Hugo Palmer with a second successive win in this nursery. Godolphin's Beccali looks capable of better now handicapping and is feared most.
It's hard to rule out any of these but PACKETOFBISCUITS gets the vote ahead of another nursery newcomer in Misty Sky.

9/2(+25%) | (10) Casa Luna 9/2, Course winner in November. Good ½-length second of 10 to Endofastorm in handicap at this C&D (6/1) 7 days ago. Should go well again. In good form here the last twice, second to Endofastorm latest; fighting chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (4) (18/1 -13%) Magnetic North |
18/1(-13%) | (4) Magnetic North 18/1, Won a pair of claimers in Ireland in the summer. Best run for this yard when fourth of 8 in handicap (14/1) at Redcar (1m, soft) 41 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. On a much lower mark returned to AW but his record in this sphere isn't solid. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Endofastorm carries a 5lb penalty for her C&D success last week when getting the better of CASA LUNA. However, Philip Kirby's mare could gain her revenge due to her mark being unchanged, and a more forceful ride on the front end may also benefit her over this distance. Khangai finished third as favourite in the aforementioned contest and is expected to be competitive once again.
KHANGAI wasn't seen to best effect when behind Endofastorm and Casa Luna over C&D and is taken to resume winning ways now. Phil Kirby's charge is feared most ahead of Forge Valley Lad.
The return to 1m4f puts VIRTUAL HUG at the top of the list, ahead of Khangai who remains of interest at this level.

250/1(-279%) | (10) The Kick Inside 250/1, €4,000 yearling, Motivator filly. Dam French hurdle/chase winner up to 19f. Likely a longer-term prospect. Has a jumping pedigree and is probably best watched on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
REDHOT WHISPER would set the standard on his third to Persica at Epsom and has been freshened up since disappointing subsequently at Pontefract. Stepping up to 1m4f is unlikely to be an issue for the son of Too Darn Hot, who gets the vote to shed the maiden tag. Always Waving is expected to improve for going up in trip on her first appearance since November 2023 and is of interest along with Jack McNamara, who was runner-up at the Curragh when last seen.
REDHOT WHISPER has the assistance of Rossa Ryan on his return to the track and is taken to open his account. Jack McNamara and Always Waving may provide the chief threat.
Redhot Whisper and Jack McNamara are respected but Andrew Balding's filly ALWAYS WAVING gets the vote on her comeback.

50/1(+0%) | (12) Morning Suit 50/1, 40/1, last of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f) 10 days ago. Blinkered for 1st time. Hard to fancy. Holds weak claims on his form for current stable; new headgear. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
EYE OF THE WATER has raced with more zest since being fitted with a visor and he makes plenty of appeal reverting to the all-weather. The veteran found only a resurgent rival too strong at Bath last time out and a similar performance on Tapeta may prove sufficient. Triple C&D winner Plumette arrives on the back of a close-up second here and another good account is forecast. Bungle Bay may fare best of the remainder.
PLUMETTE figures off a handy mark and has run well in all 4 starts since rejoining David Loughnane. She can return to winning ways. Eye of The Water and Bungle Bay can also make their presence felt.
Judged on her recent efforts, PLUMETTE looks particularly solid. Bossy Parker is second choice.

50/1(-52%) | (12) Honrado 50/1, 14/1, first run since leaving Cian Hughes when tenth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7.1f) 28 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Maiden who stays 1m4f; likely found 7f too sharp last time (stable debut). |

8th (9) (150/1 -200%) Speed Court |
150/1(-200%) | (9) Speed Court 150/1, Last of 10 in handicap at this course (12.2f, 66/1) 7 days ago. Back down in trip. Maiden; has weak claims on his form for current stable. |

80/1(-142%) | (2) Stoneacre 80/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Seventh of 9 in novice (125/1) at this course (8.6f) 14 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Regressive at novice level; needs a big turnaround on handicap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
PORT NOIR has posted three creditable efforts in defeat since landing the spoils over C&D and a 1lb drop in the ratings for her latest fourth over slightly shorter may prove lenient. Robert Stephens' mare ticks plenty of the right boxes and an 11th career victory could be in the offing. The biggest threat may emerge from last month's track-and-trip runner-up Strategic Fortune, although Come On John could also have a say if given a strong pace to aim at.
Lots with chances but COME ON JOHN rates the pick of the weights so is taken to build on his good recent third here and bag another C&D victory. Course specialist Port Noir heads the list of dangers ahead of fellow C&D scorer Strategic Fortune.
Being still attractively treated, STRATEGIC FORTUNE could well register a fourth C&D success. Come On John is second pick.

11th (2) (14/1 -27%) Moe's Legacy |
14/1(-27%) | (2) Moe's Legacy 14/1, Course winner. Latest win here in November. 7/1, last of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW) 25 days ago, slowly away. Back up in trip. Enters calculations if shrugging off latest effort. Won here last month but she needs to bounce back after a laboured effort last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (12) (50/1 -100%) Soldiers Design |
50/1(-100%) | (12) Soldiers Design 50/1, Last of 10 in handicap (14/1) at this C&D 31 days ago. Has work to do. Yet to sparkle in four runs for current yard and overall record now stands at 1-11. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Assuming MOE'S LEGACY can be forgiven her recent below-par run under a penalty in a class 5 at Lingfield, the Ron Harris-trained filly could provide some value back at the scene of last month's 5f success. She collared Alafdhal on that occasion, although the runner-up then made the frame again in that aforementioned Lingfield heat so is an obvious threat. Last-time-out 7f course winner Yoshimi is another must for consideration.
This is wide open and it could go the way of ALAFDHAL who can boast a C&D win and should benefit from the return to this trip having posted a good Lingfield third over 5f last time out. Yoshimi heads the list of dangers on the back of his recent course victory with Radiant Angel, Moe's Legacy and Beauzon all weighted to have a say.
The vote goes to NOT JUST YET, who went close over C&D last time and is a big player if this sets up for his closing style.
Ths is the racecard key.
