Wise Move |
(7) (6/1 +29%)6/1(+29%) | (7) Wise Move 6/1, Prolific winner in points and ran to a fair level first time up over hurdles when second in a C&D maiden in May. Best run since when 5 lengths fifth on 3m Carlisle handicap debut last month. Tongue tied first time. Less exposed than most of these. Stuck to his task pretty well on handicap debut and may still have potential. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1st (11) (15/8 +53%) Forest Blaze |
15/8(+53%) | (11) Forest Blaze 15/8, Looked unsuited by the drop back to 2m when third of 9 on his course handicap debut last month, staying on after getting outpaced. Potential improver back at 2½m. On the shortlist. Kept on for third over 2m here on handicap debut; may improve over this longer trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (33/1 -175%) Bonne Vitesse |
33/1(-175%) | (10) Bonne Vitesse 33/1, Fair dual-purpose performer who won on the Flat at Carlisle in May. Might have needed it back from 5 months off at Catterick (Flat) 6 weeks ago and she has been given a chance by the handicapper in this sphere. Won on the Flat in spring but well beaten in October, after a break; hard to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (12/1 +40%) Guernesey |
12/1(+40%) | (4) Guernesey 12/1, Failed to back up encouraging Perth effort when midfield over C&D in May and last of 6 at Kelso 6 months later. Others are more obvious. Didn't run badly at Kelso in October, after a break; not ruled out off career-low mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (5/2 -43%) Heritier |
5/2(-43%) | (6) Heritier 5/2, Back to winning ways in 19f Carlisle handicap 10 days ago. That was a conditional jockeys' event so he's able to race off the same mark here. Obvious chance. Kept on well for clearcut Carlisle win last week and runs without a penalty here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (16/1 -14%) Piaff Bubbles |
16/1(-14%) | (1) Piaff Bubbles 16/1, Improved model switched to handicaps over staying trips in early 2023, including a good second over 23f here. Has a long absence to overcome but it'll still be interesting to see what the betting makes of him. In good form on slow ground when last seen, but that was in March 2023. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (12) (6/1 +40%) Lewa House |
6/1(+40%) | (12) Lewa House 6/1, Not the most consistent and on a losing sequence (only win came here) but he probably needed his latest Ayr outing after 6 months off. Runs this track well but has a modest strike-rate; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (17/2 +39%) Rock Steady Eddie |
17/2(+39%) | (3) Rock Steady Eddie 17/2, Placed in a couple of points and fair form when second in a course maiden hurdle in March. His 2 handicap performances since have been underwhelming but he might have needed the outing on his chase reappearance here in October. Ran well in C&D maiden in March but safely held in first two handicaps (hurdle/chase). |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (16/1 -256%) Kinder Kid |
16/1(-256%) | (2) Kinder Kid 16/1, Improved for a step up to 3m in the spring, winning a pair of Wetherby handicaps in March. Could go on to even better things this season but this trip might be a little on the short side for him. Ended last season with two 3m Wetherby wins; 258-day break may have checked momentum. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (25/1 -108%) Serious Ego |
25/1(-108%) | (8) Serious Ego 25/1, Veteran who landed back-to-back 2m wins here last November and added to his tally at Perth (2m, soft) during the spring. Probably needed the outing after 5 months off when last of 11 at Carlisle in October and can fare better back a venue which evidently suits. Always behind on latest outing, after a break, but is back on a workable mark now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (20/1 +20%) Pure Sirloin |
20/1(+20%) | (9) Pure Sirloin 20/1, Made a winning handicap debut for Gavin Cromwell at Navan in January 2023 but hasn't gone on from that, including in 3 outings for this yard. Ran okay on second of three stable starts but others have more pressing claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (100/1 -300%) Good Bye |
100/1(-300%) | (5) Good Bye 100/1, Proved a model of consistency during 2022/23 campaign for this yard but he hasn't shown much spark in 3 starts since returning from a 17-month absence in June. Comes here after two very laboured effect and his best form is on good/good to soft ground. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A comfortable winner of a conditional handicap over slightly shorter at Carlisle last time out, HERITIER is likely to have plenty more improvement forthcoming and can follow up off the same mark with Sean Quinlan back in the saddle. Kinder Kid was a revelation when upped to 3m at the back end of last season and the six-year-old is a key player on his return to action. Others to note include Bonne Vitesse, Forest Blaze and Lewa House.
HERITIER escapes a penalty for Carlisle and a bold show looks assured if showing up here in the same form. Unexposed pair Forest Blaze, who looks sure to be suited by the return to 2½m, and Wise Move can give Lizzie Quinlan's charge most to do.
It's hard to get away from HERITIER, who produced a good performance to score at Carlisle recently and is unpenalised here.

1st (8) (13/2 -30%) Mister Upton |
13/2(-30%) | (8) Mister Upton 13/2, No great shakes over hurdles but much improved to make a winning start in this sphere at Fontwell (19.5f) in May. Latest fourth back at that venue (following 6 months off) was a solid display but his present mark looks to demand that bit more. Won on chase debut at Fontwell in May and both subsequent runs there were respectable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (9/2 +18%) Jac Jumper |
9/2(+18%) | (3) Jac Jumper 9/2, Hurdles winner in France who has been holding form well in defeat over fences this year, the longer trip seeming to stretch him when fourth of 6 in handicap chase at Huntingdon (23.6f) 38 days ago. Return to shorter in his favour now with cheekpieces enlisted. 0-6 over fences but consistent since June; big player if aided by cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (10/3 -33%) Boys Of Wexford |
10/3(-33%) | (9) Boys Of Wexford 10/3, Ended last season in good form and showed benefit of his reappearance run when winning 6-runner handicap chase (6/1) at Fontwell (21.6f, good) 24 days ago, asserting from 2 out and forging clear. Needs considering from 5 lb higher mark in this groove. Back on song with front-running win in refitted cheekpieces last month; 5lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (9/1 -13%) Iron D'ex |
9/1(-13%) | (4) Iron D'ex 9/1, Scored on his chasing bow at Ludlow in October and dispelled a lesser effort in the mud refitted with cheekpieces when fourth in 8-runner handicap chase here (2m) 2 weeks ago. Step back up in trip in his favour here and he's not out of things. Game winner on seasonal/chase debut in October but far too inconsistent to rely upon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (18/1 -13%) Get Cracking |
18/1(-13%) | (6) Get Cracking 18/1, Successful in points but little impact in bumper/trio of maiden hurdles so far this year. Still switch to handicaps over larger obstacles could help now and interesting if the market spoke in his favour. Point winner; safely held in three maiden/novice hurdles; may fare better now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (17/2 +53%) Mourzouk |
17/2(+53%) | (2) Mourzouk 17/2, Has fallen 15 lb below last winning mark but it's been well over 2 years since that latest success and it's been more a case of miss than hit in 6 outings over hurdles this year. Switch to larger obstacles needs to have positive effect now. Regressive over hurdles but still of interest off career-low mark on chasing debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (12) (11/2 +86%) Pescatorius |
11/2(+86%) | (12) Pescatorius 11/2, Getaway gelding who has yet to better poor form over hurdles, including in 2 handicaps since the tongue tie went on this winter. Big step forward required if he's to feature now sent chasing. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Unplaced all seven hurdle starts; cheekpieces added for chasing debut; improvement needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (40/1 -60%) Fashion's Model |
40/1(-60%) | (10) Fashion's Model 40/1, Sent chasing last season, off the mark on final start of the campaign as she landed mares' handicap at Wincanton (20.2f, heavy) in April. However, failed to come on for reappearance run when pulled up at Ludlow 16 days ago. Needs to get back on track. Ended last season with a good win but looked out of sorts on both appearances this autun. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (22/1 +33%) Outback Frontiers |
22/1(+33%) | (11) Outback Frontiers 22/1, Twice a winner over hurdles, latterly at Stratford (18.7f) in July. However, finished well held on first start in this sphere when fifth of 8 in handicap chase at Lingfield (23.5f) 4 weeks ago (reportedly bled). Drop back in trip likely in his favour. Hurdle winner this summer; had excuse when well beaten on chase debut but is inconsistent. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (7) (6/1 -50%) Supasunrise |
6/1(-50%) | (7) Supasunrise 6/1, Returned from 5 months off/wind surgery with a good second at Southwell in October and similar form despite a mixed round of jumping when third of 10 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (19.4f) 3 weeks ago. Can give another good account for all he's yet to defy a mark this high. Back from break with three good runs this autumn, and is suited by this C&D; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (80/1 -400%) Omaha Wish |
80/1(-400%) | (1) Omaha Wish 80/1, Opened her account over fences at Fakenham (16.3f) in June. Fell next time and disappointing both completed starts since, including (equipped with tongue strap) on debut for new yard when fifth of 6 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (2m) 25 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Chase winner for Dan Skelton in June but safely held on last month's stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (33/1 -65%) Lightonthewing |
33/1(-65%) | (5) Lightonthewing 33/1, Resumed with success at Newton Abbot but pulled up in race won by re-opposing Boys of Wexford at Fontwell (21.6f, good) 24 days ago. Fact that was his first start for 6 months offers some mitigation but he does need to take a big step forward. Five-time chase winner; jumping issues on last two outings; still on fairly tough mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RR| (13) (50/1 +24%) Robeam |
50/1(+24%) | (13) Robeam 50/1, Out of sorts for some time now over hurdles/on Flat, merely passing beaten rivals when sixth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (16.6f, 66/1) 30 days ago, Far from an obvious one now sent chasing from out of the weights. Disappointing on the Flat lately and this chasing debut is his 82nd career start; 3b wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Despite jumping out to his right on more than one occasion, Boys Of Wexford regained the winning thread at Fontwell last month. A return to this right-handed track is likely to suit, but a 5lb higher mark does demand more from the seven-year-old. With that in mind, it could be worth chancing IRON D'EX, who wasn't disgraced when finishing fourth over an inadequate 2m here a fortnight ago. Jac Jumper and Mister Upton are also noted.
BOYS OF WEXFORD showed the benefit of his reappearance run when running out a comfortable winner at Fontwell 24 days ago and a 5 lb rise may not be enough to prevent another bold showing. Jac Jumper back down in trip/equipped with first-time cheekpieces and Supasunrise are others to consider, as is Iron d'Ex back at this longer trip.
A speculative option to consider is MOURZOUK, who makes his chasing debut from a tempting mark. Supasunrise is second choice.

1st (1) (1/2 +40%) Fromheretoeternity |
1/2(+40%) | (1) Fromheretoeternity 1/2, Has improved since joining Jennis Candlish, winning a Worcester handicap and C&D novice this autumn. Beaten at odds on the last twice but she's run close to form. A double penalty shouldn't prevent another bold bid. C&D winner (form franked) in Oct; beaten twice at odds-on since; carries a double penalty.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (8/1 -23%) Roebuck Bay |
8/1(-23%) | (4) Roebuck Bay 8/1, Reached the frame in bumper last winter. Ran to only a modest level when sixth on 21f Warwick hurdle debut and reappearance in October. Down in trip. May do better. Combination of distance (2m5f) and lack of recent run seemed to catch her out at Warwick.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (13/2 -18%) Uokhun |
13/2(-18%) | (6) Uokhun 13/2, First promise over hurdles when 9 lengths third in 2m Wetherby novice last month. Has the potential for even better. Fair third at Wetherby (2m, good to soft) a fortnight ago; others open to more improvement. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 -67%) Hay Meadow |
5/1(-67%) | (3) Hay Meadow 5/1, Point winner who made the ideal start under Rules when landing a 5-runner bumper at Perth in September. Not up to a Cheltenham listed bumper last month but has found a winnable race on hurdle debut. Point and bumper winner; switches to hurdles at a realistic level; potential to progress.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (150/1 -355%) Breadalbane Lass |
150/1(-355%) | (2) Breadalbane Lass 150/1, Telescope filly who showed ability when sixth in a Newcastle bumper in December but no impact as yet over hurdles. More one for handicaps. Fifth of seven (beaten 13l) on recent Ayr seasonal reappearance; needs considerably more.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (100/1 -400%) Trysting Thorn |
100/1(-400%) | (5) Trysting Thorn 100/1, Improved effort in bumpers when third at Sedgefield in October but well beaten in a maiden hurdle there since. Well beaten on Sedgefield hurdles debut (2m4f; 14-1) last month; drops back in distance.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An easy winner over C&D last month, FROMHERETOETERNITY has performed with plenty of credit in defeat since and sets the standard. Jennie Candlish's charge gets the vote ahead of hurdling debutant Hay Meadow, who finished down the field in a Listed Cheltenham bumper most recently, having scored at Perth in September. A promising third last time out at Wetherby, Uokhun rates best of the rest.
Lucinda Russell bumper winner HAY MEADOW is taken to make the most of the 12 lb she receives from Fromheretoeternity and make a successful start to her hurdle career.
Having contested a Listed bumper at Cheltenham last month, HAY MEADOW makes her hurdles debut at a more realistic level.

1st (2) (7/2 -17%) Sayva |
7/2(-17%) | (2) Sayva 7/2, Confirmed promise of hurdling debut when comfortably taking 8-runner novice at Newcastle (16.2f, good) 41 days ago. Likely more to come yet and is one for shortlist. Penalised for winning a moderate maiden at Newcastle so likely to need more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (7/1 -100%) Pigeon House |
7/1(-100%) | (1) Pigeon House 7/1, Below par when last seen at Listowel in September but had won twice over hurdles (at up to 18.2f) previously and sets the standard on that form. Switches to new yard and holds strong claims. Quite exposed now and has the penalties, but has joined another respected yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (6/4 +25%) I've Madeupmymind |
6/4(+25%) | (10) I've Madeupmymind 6/4, Matched best form, back from 7 months off, when third of 11 in bumper at Carlisle (17.2f, good to soft) 30 days ago. Bred for longer trips and is worth a second look in the market on hurdles bow. Seems consistent having run well in all her bumpers, two of them warm races at top tracks. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (13/2 +41%) The Long Point |
13/2(+41%) | (8) The Long Point 13/2, Won sole start in bumpers at Huntingdon in May and looked in need of outing when fourth of 7 in novice at Warwick (19f, good) on hurdles bow 36 days ago. Should have more to offer. Bumper winner who could have needed the run when beaten 14l on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (33/1 -32%) Fortunate Fella |
33/1(-32%) | (4) Fortunate Fella 33/1, Placed all 3 starts in Irish points but made little impact in Newton Abbot bumper on NH debut in October. In good hands but bit to prove now sent hurdling. Tailed off in a Newton Abbot bumper and testing ground shouldn't have been an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (66/1 -100%) Wild Nephin |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Wild Nephin 66/1, Off the mark at seventh attempt between the flags in Ireland and offered something to work on when third of 6 in novice hurdle at this course (16.2f, good to soft, 28/1) on NH debut 14 days ago. This looks more competitive but he should appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. Only 1-7 in points; 28-1 and beaten about 20l in a 2m novice hurdle here a fortnight ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 +0%) The Grey Man |
20/1(+0%) | (7) The Grey Man 20/1, Made the frame in a couple of starts in this sphere (both 15.8f) last term and will be suited by this tonger trip. Others make more appeal for win purposes, however. No further improvement when third at Uttoxeter but there are races in him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (9/2 +36%) Ocean Walz |
9/2(+36%) | (5) Ocean Walz 9/2, Finished runner-up all 3 starts in bumpers, latest when second of 12 at Worcester (16f, heavy, 7/2) 56 days ago, albeit no match for winner. Warrants respect on first start over timber. Second in three bumpers, last time at Worcester beaten by an unexposed Skelton runner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (250/1 -150%) Beragon |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Beragon 250/1, Well held in Chepstow bumper on NH debut 35 days ago and is best watched on switch to hurdling. 33-1 when failing to show much promise for the immediate future in a Chepstow bumper. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having landed a handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe off a mark of 126 when under the tutelage of Jessica Harrington in Ireland, stable debutant PIGEON HOUSE could prove classy enough to concede weight to this afternoon's rivals. Jennie Candlish's charge should put his experience to good use reverting to novice company and a third career victory could be in the offing. Fellow penalised winner Sayva receives 5lb from the selection and is feared most after his comfortable victory at Newcastle 41 days ago. Hurdles debutant Ocean Walz is the pick of the remainder.
PIGEON HOUSE has already bagged 2 victories over hurdles in Ireland and has joined a yard amongst the winners. He gets the nod. Likely improvers Sayva and The Long Point are feared most.
This may go to the only female runner in I'VE MADEUPMYMIND, who ran well in all her bumpers (two at top tracks).

1st (4) (1/1 +60%) Not A Light |
1/1(+60%) | (4) Not A Light 1/1, Ex-pointer who was third in an Irish bumper and shaped with encouragement when sixth in a novice at Chepstow on hurdling debut in October 2022. That form worked out and he came within a short-head of landing 20f novice at Leicester 2 months later. Off since but represents in-form yard. Good second in strong race at Leicester two years ago; off since; strong contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (3/1 +25%) Orkney Blue |
3/1(+25%) | (5) Orkney Blue 3/1, Promising start when runner-up in a course bumper in April and sold from Toby Lawes for £35,000 the following month. Kept on for fourth on hurdles debut at Carlisle (20f) 3 weeks ago and there should be plenty more to come from him. Good 2nd in a bumper here before £35,000 sale; fair 4th on hurdles debut; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (200/1 -506%) Tan Law |
200/1(-506%) | (8) Tan Law 200/1, Malinas gelding. Pulled up sole start in points and showed nothing sent hurdling last month. Pulled up in a UK point in March; well beaten both starts hurdling; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/2 +8%) Red Cadillac |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Red Cadillac 11/2, Made the frame on both bumper outings last season. Also some promise on October's hurdles debut at Kelso and given how he's shaped, this step up in trip will suit. In the frame in two heavy-ground bumpers; fair hurdles debut; these conditions will suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (13/2 -136%) Helsgetaway |
13/2(-136%) | (3) Helsgetaway 13/2, Showed ability in bumpers and promising start in this sphere/after 6 months off when seventh of 13 in novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, good to soft), outpaced before staying on gradually. Held in third when falling at the last over C&D a month ago. Placed in two bumpers last term; fell at the last when in third over C&D last time; player. |

6th (10) (22/1 -57%) Worth The Walk |
22/1(-57%) | (10) Worth The Walk 22/1, €15,000 3-y-o, fourth foal, dam unraced sister to smart hurdler/top-class chaser (Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, stayed 3¼m) Bobs Worth and fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Chesterfieldavenue. Off mark in Irish points at fifth attempt (Feb 2024). Wide-margin winner of an Irish point; wears a hood on hurdles/stable debut; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (12/1 -140%) Always A Reason |
12/1(-140%) | (1) Always A Reason 12/1, €30,000 5-y-o, first foal, dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 21f) Dare Me. Off mark in Irish points at fifth attempt in April and starts out at a very realistic level. 30,000euros buy after winning Irish point; quite interesting on stable/hurdles debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (66/1 -100%) Tory Hill |
66/1(-100%) | (9) Tory Hill 66/1, Runner-up all 4 completed starts in Irish points and showed more than he did on hurdles debut at Carlisle kept to that venue when fifth 3 weeks ago. Needs to improve again. Close second in four Irish points; well beaten both hurdle starts; best watched for now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (250/1 -400%) Red Sam |
250/1(-400%) | (7) Red Sam 250/1, Black Sam Bellamy gelding. Looks limited on early evidence. Hasn't shown a great deal in three runs over hurdles and looks more one for handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (125/1 -525%) Bobby J |
125/1(-525%) | (2) Bobby J 125/1, Third foal, dam (h83) 2½m hurdle winner. By Stewards' Cup winner Intrinsic out of a winning 2m4f hurdler; best watched on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
ORKNEY BLUE may have been beaten a long way on his hurdles bow at Carlisle last month, but he wasn't disgraced in fourth and his previous course experience is a big plus. The son of Blue Bresil went close in a bumper here in April and is narrowly preferred to Not A Light, who was last seen finishing second at Leicester two years ago. Helsgetaway and Irish point-to-point recruit Always A Reason cannot be ruled out either.
NOT A LIGHT has a 2-year absence to overcome but he represents an excellent yard and has been found a very winnable race given the level he displayed when last seen. If the selection fails to fire, Helsgetaway and Orkney Blue look the most likely to take advantage.
The one to beat is NOT A LIGHT, who looked a decent prospect when finishing second in a strong race at Leicester in December 2022.

1st (1) (10/11 +55%) Secret Des Dieux |
10/11(+55%) | (1) Secret Des Dieux 10/11, Fair form in bumpers and left hurdles bow well behind 6 months on when winning 6-runner novice hurdle at Fakenham (16f, good to soft) 22 days ago, overcoming mistakes. Return to this trip is a slight concern but this is a weak race. Again raced keenly but was comfortably up to the job in a 2m maiden at Fakenham. |

2nd (2) (7/2 +13%) Guchen |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Guchen 7/2, Cima De Triomphe gelding. 12/1(+25%) | (5) Montana Golden 12/1, Fair form in bumpers in the summer, second on debut at Worcester before shaping better than bare result at Market Rasen. However, showed little on hurdles bow at Kempton on return. Poor hurdling debut at Kempton but initial bumper promise by no means forgotten. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Having justified heavy support in the market when opening his account over 2m at Fakenham last month, SECRET DES DIEUX looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to follow up. James Owen's charge ticks plenty of the right boxes and the son of Zarak boasts enough stamina in his pedigree to see out today's extended 2m3f distance. Hurdles debutant Guchen displayed enough ability on his fifth-placed bumper bow at Southwell to suggest that he can give the selection most to think about, ahead of fellow timber newcomer Tongaknoxie.
SECRET DES DIEUX looked a tricky customer when scoring at Fakenham 3 weeks ago but has been found a weak race under a penalty. Guchen and Olderfleet showed a bit in bumpers so are feared most.
The weaker of the two divisions for sure and one that presents a good opportunity for SECRET DES DIEUX to follow up his Fakenham win.

1st (5) (5/6 +33%) Joecooker |
5/6(+33%) | (5) Joecooker 5/6, Landed a Wexford bumper on final start for Mary E Doyle in July and left his stable debut run over hurdles well behind when third of 14 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) 48 days ago, taking that place near finish. Interesting with prospect of more to come. Encouraging third at Carlisle in October, suited by the step up in trip; sound claims.. |

2nd (6) (9/2 +10%) Saint Malinas |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Saint Malinas 9/2, €10,000 3-y-o, £60,000 5-y-o, Malinas gelding. Dam unraced. 3rd (8) (5/1 -11%) Visual Impact |
5/1(-11%) | (8) Visual Impact 5/1, £100,000 after finishing runner-up in a maiden point. Only fourth in an Ayr bumper in February but offered plenty to work on starting out in this sphere when fourth of 7 in novice hurdle at Newcastle (16.9f, soft) a month later. Step up in trip should suit and better to come this term. Fourth of seven on hurdles debut at Newcastle in March; steps up in trip and can improve.. |

250/1(-658%) | (1) Alltalknoaction 250/1, Third sole start in point bumpers/runner-up sole start in points in early-2024. However, showed nothing on first start under Rules when pulled up before 3 out on hurdles bow at Carlisle (20f) 3 weeks ago. 66/1(-100%) | (7) Wee Alki 66/1, Alkaadhem gelding. Half-brother to a point winner. Little impact sole start in bumpers and well held fifth of 10 in a C&D maiden on hurdles bow 33 days ago. Low-grade handicaps promise to be more his thing later on. Well held on debut in bumper at Perth in August and on hurdles debut over C&D last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (33/1 +0%) Westerdale |
33/1(+0%) | (9) Westerdale 33/1, Out of a winning pointer and promise to glean from both runs starting out over hurdles here at the beginning of the campaign. Still, she's another who will be better suited to handicaps on the back of this. Well beaten in a couple of novices here in May/June; needs to show improvement.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (7/2 -56%) Caughtinyourtrance |
7/2(-56%) | (2) Caughtinyourtrance 7/2, £40,000 buy after winning sole start in Irish points. Promising start when placed in pair of bumpers at Wetherby/Perth during the spring and this longer trip promises to suit now hurdling on seasonal return. Placed in a couple of bumpers last term and makes hurdles debut.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (50/1 -25%) Donny's Fortune |
50/1(-25%) | (4) Donny's Fortune 50/1, Dual point winner who, fitted with a tongue tie for Rules debut didn't offer much encouragement when eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Possible he'll be brought along with handicaps in mind. Tailed off on belated rules/hurdles debut at Carlisle last month; hard to fancy.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (3) (250/1 -658%) Dartie Bay |
250/1(-658%) | (3) Dartie Bay 250/1, Dartmouth gelding who hasn't offered a great deal in pair of bumpers 5 months apart, latterly when well-beaten seventh of 10 in bumper at Sedgefield (16.8f) 52 days ago. Looks best watched now hurdling. Watching brief advised on this step up in trip on hurdles debut.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The unexposed JOECOOKER put in some eye-catching late work when finishing a staying-on third over 2m4f at Carlisle last time out and a repeat of that effort may well suffice in this company. Point-to-point winner Caughtinyourtrance showed enough in his two bumper starts to suggest that he can get competitive in a race of this nature, though his lack of a recent run does temper enthusiasm slightly. Saint Malinas was also victorious between the flags and it will be interesting to see how he fares on his Rules debut.
Bumper winner JOECOOKER stepped up on his stable debut run when finishing a good third in a Carlisle novice 7 weeks ago and with further progress in the offing, he's selected to come out on top. Visual Impact is another who can do better this season and along with Caughtinyourtrance, who showed plenty of ability in bumpers, heads up the dangers.
The eye is drawn to VISUAL IMPACT who should improve on her fourth at Newcastle in March. Joecooker is second choice.

1st (7) (11/2 +66%) Gustoso |
11/2(+66%) | (7) Gustoso 11/2, Much improved when opening his account in first-time cheekpieces at Huntingdon in April. Backed it up with a good third at Perth later that month but low-key return to action this autumn. Now tackles a new trip. Current campaign yet to ignite but last season's win/place form brings him into this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (8/1 -7%) Weaver's Answer |
8/1(-7%) | (9) Weaver's Answer 8/1, Improved with cheekpieces added when gaining second hurdle success at Plumpton in February and may have found the race coming too soon at Ayr under a penalty. May have needed the run on last month's return to action. Won a bit too well at Plumpton in February (3m1f, soft) as he's still 10lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (7/1 -8%) Pipers Cross |
7/1(-8%) | (8) Pipers Cross 7/1, Dual winner around 3m in the spring for Robbie Llewellyn. Stuck to her task pretty well when fifth starting out for new yard at Bangor in October (23.2f) and this step up in trip promises to suit. Big player with cheekpieces back on. Consistent for previous yard; just an okay debut for this one; cheekpieces return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (3/1 -33%) Grove Road |
3/1(-33%) | (3) Grove Road 3/1, Ended a losing run in a change of headgear in 10-runner handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot in July. Followed from a 4 lb higher mark back from a break at Huntingdon (25f, soft) recently and is clearly back on the up for his excellent yard. One to beat from revised mark. 2-2 in the visor; 7lb higher than last time but highly likely to be involved once more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (6/1 +50%) Gris Majeur |
6/1(+50%) | (2) Gris Majeur 6/1, Point/bumper winner who capitalised on falling mark when registering a third career success over hurdles at Hereford (21.7f) in October. Not in same form when fourth at Warwick but chase debut wasn't devoid of promise at Chepstow. Upped markedly in trip returned to timber. 2m too sharp last time but there has to be a chance that 3m1f will be too far. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (1) (125/1 -150%) Imperial Storm |
125/1(-150%) | (1) Imperial Storm 125/1, Bumper/ hurdles winner for Fergal O'Brien but off for 500 days prior to pulling up in a point in May and then ran poorly back under Rules in a Chepstow handicap hurdle for new yard last month. Bumper/hurdle winner for Fergal O'Brien but current wellbeing looks a major issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (12/1 -20%) Spitalfield |
12/1(-20%) | (5) Spitalfield 12/1, Opened his account in good style in 9-runner handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (23.9f, good) in May. Has never been a fluent jumper and he came unstuck over the fixed-brush obstacles when seventh of 9 a fortnight later. Comfortable winner in May but flopped the next month and not the easiest to predict. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (11) (7/2 +71%) Newtonian |
7/2(+71%) | (11) Newtonian 7/2, Got off the mark at Warwick in May and nothing wrong with a brace of in-frame efforts upon return in October. 2 lb out of the weights but he should still give his running. Only 1-17 over hurdles but respectable in defeat the last twice and has each-way claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (11/1 -22%) Mikimoto |
11/1(-22%) | (4) Mikimoto 11/1, Successful only start in bumpers for Henry Daly. Promise over hurdles for new yard, runner-up first 2 starts and possibly needed the run after 10 months off when fourth in a Stratford maiden (22f) in October. Pitched in quite deep on handicap bow and offered little. Up in trip with cheekpieces on. Lightly raced bumper winner; this is more realistic than Cheltenham last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (50/1 -150%) Drop Flight |
50/1(-150%) | (6) Drop Flight 50/1, Landed 5-runner hunter at Exeter in March prior to falling early in the Foxhunters' Chase at Aintree the following month. Easily best effort for this yard when a keeping-on third over 20f at Carlisle in October but he was disappointing up in trip at Warwick latest. Cheekpieces applied. Disappointing that he didn't run better on the return to a staying trip at Warwick. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The fitting of a visor enabled Grove Road to land victories at Newton Abbot and Huntingdon on his last two appearances and another bold bid is forecast. However, a 7lb higher mark for his latest triumph could be enough to thwart the eight-year-old's hat-trick bid and WEAVER'S ANSWER may offer more value. Tim Vaughan's charge is unexposed as a stayer and last month's reappearance sixth at Lingfield should have blown away any cobwebs. Pipers Cross has the form to feature as well.
A visor has really perked GROVE ROAD up and given he was value for extra at Huntingdon last time, the hat-trick may well be on the cards. Pipers Cross made a sound start for her new yard at Bangor and she's a threat up in trip with cheekpieces back on, while Groom de Cotte is likely to give it another good shot.
In quite an open handicap a chance is taken that GUSTOSO can rediscover some of the form that served him well last season.

9/2(-13%) | (14) Robert D'ores 9/2, Ran as well as he ever has after 4 months off when second of 12 in handicap hurdle at this C&D (good to soft) 33 days ago. One for the shortlist. Had wind op before an excellent C&D second last month; up 4lb but holds leading claims. |

Unseated rider at the first on chasing debut at Carlisle; not ruled out back hurdling. |

10th (3) (20/1 -208%) Secret Secret |
20/1(-208%) | (3) Secret Secret 20/1, Resumed winning ways in convincing fashion at Cartmel in July. Ran to a similar level when second there (25.4f) the following month but returns from a break with his yard struggling badly at present. Scored at Cartmel and backed it up with good second there; much respected after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (8/1 -60%) Bollin Neil |
8/1(-60%) | (1) Bollin Neil 8/1, Fair stayer on the Flat at best who relished the step up in trip when getting off the mark over hurdles at Catterick in January 2023. Posted a good second back there next time and ran creditably on his most recent Flat start in October. Solid third on Flat in October; he must enter calculations back in this sphere. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (11/1 -83%) Dequall |
11/1(-83%) | (13) Dequall 11/1, Twenty five runs since last win in 2021 but again ran creditably when third of 12 in C&D handicap (good to soft) 33 days ago. Should remain competitive. Good third over C&D last month; this course scorer needs considering off the same mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (33/1 -371%) One Step Up |
33/1(-371%) | (4) One Step Up 33/1, Proved to be a disappointment when last of 8 in handicap chase at Musselburgh (20.3f, good to soft) on debut over fences 13 days ago. Makes a swift return to hurdling in first-time blinkers. Last on his chasing debut at Musselburgh 13 days ago; more needed back hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (100/1 -52%) Gold Ring |
100/1(-52%) | (6) Gold Ring 100/1, Made little impact in 4 runs over hurdles last season and lost his way on the Flat earlier this year. Hard to fancy. Offered little in four hurdling starts last season; he's hard to make a case for. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (100/1 -52%) Colonel Manderson |
100/1(-52%) | (9) Colonel Manderson 100/1, C&D winner who is currently out of sorts, tailed off over C&D on most recent outing. Easy to look elsewhere. C&D winner last September but he's offered little since; needs to take a big step forward. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ROBERT D'ORES (second) readily got the better of Dequall (third) when the pair met over this track and trip last month and, upped 4lb, it would be no surprise if the former were able to confirm his superiority over that rival en route to victory. Secret Secret beat a useful sort over 2m6f at Cartmel on his penultimate start and, after shaping like he was still in good heart when runner-up off 6lb higher at the same venue on his most recent outing, he warrants respect too.
ROBERT D'ORES ran as well as he ever has when second over C&D last month and is the percentage call to go one better. Time Was and Dequall are a couple of potential threats.
This looks a very good opportunity for ROBERT D'ORES (nap) to build on his excellent C&D second and gain a breakthrough success.

1st (3) (4/1 +20%) Beat Box |
4/1(+20%) | (3) Beat Box 4/1, Improved out of all recognition for Dan Skelton, completing a 4-timer in 2m handicap chases in August/September. The winning run came to a halt when only fourth of 5 at Hexham in October but no surprise were he to resume his progression back from a short break. Could be on a tough mark now but remains in form. |

2nd (6) (3/1 -20%) Torneo |
3/1(-20%) | (6) Torneo 3/1, Fairly useful Flat winner in France who won a Wetherby juvenile hurdle last winter. Switched to fences this season, shaping well when second in 2m Wincanton handicap 3 weeks ago. Leading claims with further progress likely. Flat background but won over hurdles and has taken well to fences, going close last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -157%) Lime Drop |
9/1(-157%) | (4) Lime Drop 9/1, Filled the runner-up spot 5 times over fences before deservedly getting off the mark at Uttoxeter (2m, good to soft) last month. Should remain competitive up 5 lb. Off the mark over fences at Uttoxeter where good value for narrow winning margin. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (4/1 +27%) Tapley |
4/1(+27%) | (1) Tapley 4/1, Fairly useful hurdler, winning a Plumpton handicap in October. Ran below that level switched to fences at Newbury 12 days ago but the experience should have done him some good. Has the class to be competitive should he find some fluency on second chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (11/4 +39%) Finest View |
11/4(+39%) | (2) Finest View 11/4, Fairly useful hurdler who was runner 4 times in handicaps over the summer. Not given an unduly hard time once the leaders had got away when well-held third on 20.5f Kempton chase debut last month. Open to progress. Five hurdle wins; jumped well on chase debut when perhaps stretched by 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (8/1 +60%) Ascension Day |
8/1(+60%) | (5) Ascension Day 8/1, Runner-up 3 times on the bounce over hurdles in the first half of this year. Might have needed the outing when below par back from 7 weeks off at Southwell last time. Makes chase debut. Threatened over hurdles; now makes chase debut and didn't show much in points. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
Finest View was well beaten into third on her chasing debut at Kempton last month, but she could get closer off a 2lb lower rating. However, it may pay to side with LIME DROP, who was victorious by over a length at Uttoxeter last time and is only 5lb higher for that triumph. Henry Daly's eight-year-old is a previous course winner and can complete a double. Beat Box is another to note if he can bounce back from his underwhelming fourth at Hexham last time.
TORNEO was an encouraging second at Wincanton last time and is taken to go one better now. Beat Box has been freshened up since finishing fourth at Hexham in early October and can resume his progression and provide the chief threat to Jamie Snowden's charge.
Alan King's FINEST VIEW looked a fairly safe conveyance on her chase debut and gets the vote on this return to her best distance.

25/1(-108%) | (12) Grand Voyage 25/1, Long time without success but back to form when runner-up at Kelso (21.6f, good to soft) in May. Returned with a solid performance over C&D but needs to shrug off a dreadful performance at Ayr last month. Winless since 2022 and he was pulled up in 2m5f Ayr handicap chase last month. |

3rd (4) (9/2 +44%) High Moon |
9/2(+44%) | (4) High Moon 9/2, Has developed a patchy record but signs of a revival last 2 starts after 5 months off, arguably shaping best but seeming stretched by the step up to 3m when third at Musselburgh 13 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Has to be taken seriously back down in distance. Step back in right direction when third at Musselburgh latest; likely player back in trip. |

Yet to build on that, though latest third at Wetherby after a break was at least a step back in the right direction. Possibilities. Back on track after four months off with Wetherby third last month; no forlorn hope. |

5th (3) (6/1 +57%) Hold Up La Colmine |
6/1(+57%) | (3) Hold Up La Colmine 6/1, Irish point winner who was a narrow winner on handicap hurdle bow at Sedgefield in March 2023. Off since but should make a chaser and yard in good form. Won over hurdles at Sedgefield last March; point scorer enters calculations now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 -40%) Cream Of The West |
14/1(-40%) | (6) Cream Of The West 14/1, Progressive in handicap hurdles last season, winning twice. Disappointed at Haydock final start and now goes chasing on return (runner-up completed start in Irish points). Pulled up at Haydock final run; this Irish points runner-up could bounce back now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (14/1 -40%) Backbyjet |
14/1(-40%) | (7) Backbyjet 14/1, Already a 3-time winner over this C&D this season. Not in same form at Newcastle next 2 starts but no surprise if he bounced back returned to this venue. C&D winner but pulled up at Newcastle 11 days ago; he has a bit to prove now. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (11) (25/1 -456%) Halpha Soleil |
25/1(-456%) | (11) Halpha Soleil 25/1, Looked better than ever when winning over hurdles here when last seen in June. Player if taking to fences at the first attempt. Won over hurdles here in June; off since so needs to hit the ground running now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (14) (13/2 +35%) Scalloway Bay |
13/2(+35%) | (14) Scalloway Bay 13/2, Modest maiden over hurdles but holds his form well and made a decent start over fences when fourth at Ayr on return despite making mistakes. Entitled to improve on that. Encouraging start chasing when fourth in Ayr handicap last month; can take a step forward. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (25/1 -79%) Tom Cody |
25/1(-79%) | (2) Tom Cody 25/1, Steadily progressive over fences last season, winning 3 times, and ended campaign with a good third at Perth over a marathon trip. Scored over this distance last term but usual headgear is left off. Enjoyed a good last season over fences; off 7 months but considered with Brian Hughes up. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (12/1 -60%) Chosen Hero |
12/1(-60%) | (8) Chosen Hero 12/1, Bumper/hurdles winner who resumed with a good close third of 11 in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield (19.8f, soft) 54 days ago. One to consider now going over fences (Irish point winner). Very good Sedgefield third in October; points winner enters calculations now chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (13) (25/1 0%) Kauto D'amour |
25/1(0%) | (13) Kauto D'amour 25/1, Dual hurdles winner who was placed on all 3 completed starts over fences in 2022. Fell on sole outing of last year over C&D and he'll need to have brushed up his jumping now returning from another lengthy absence. Off since taking a heavy fall over C&D 14 months ago; has his fitness to prove on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (33/1 -175%) Red Happy |
33/1(-175%) | (1) Red Happy 33/1, Completed hat-trick at Carlisle a year ago but ran poorly at Kelso on return, a race he won last year. Headgear back on. Poor seventh at Kelso 32 days ago, looking none too easy a ride; lots more is needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (150/1 -838%) Know The Game |
150/1(-838%) | (9) Know The Game 150/1, Fair chaser who was runner-up in a Limerick handicap in April. Well held last 3 starts, though, including starting out for this yard last month. Last for new stable in Wetherby novice hurdle last month; significantly more is required. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HOLD UP LA COLMINE makes plenty of appeal on his return from a lengthy spell off the track as the seven-year-old goes over fences for the first time. Last seen in winning action at Sedgefield in March 2023, it wouldn't be a major surprise to see him pick up from where he left off. Cream Of The West won twice over hurdles last season and should go well, while Backbyjet is capable of bouncing back from his latest effort at Newcastle.
Plenty to consider with the vote going to HIGH MOON, who is threatening to come good soon and is partnered by a good-value 7-lb conditional. Rattling Road caught the eye on his chase bow at Ayr so makes the shortlist along with chase debutants Halpha Soleil and Hold Up La Colmine.
Plenty with chances but Lucinda Russell's RATTLING ROAD offers persuasive credentials and he gets the verdict in an intriguing contest.

1st (3) (8/11 +42%) Mint Man |
8/11(+42%) | (3) Mint Man 8/11, Fairly useful gelding who returned to best form when close third of 10 in handicap over C&D 5 days ago. Leading player. Second in five of his 15 races, overall profile is concerning but holds an obvious chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (9/4 +18%) Crystal Luna |
9/4(+18%) | (5) Crystal Luna 9/4, Fair filly who shaped as if still in good form when eighth of 14 in handicap at this course (6f) 7 days ago, left with lot to do. Blinkers back on. Enters calculations. In front of Mint Man when third over C&D three starts ago, recent form less encouraging. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (7/1 +13%) Abiding Star |
7/1(+13%) | (4) Abiding Star 7/1, Fair filly. Bit below form seventh of 13 in handicap (14/1) at Cork (5f, good to firm). Off 117 days. Not out of things. Has run well in maidens including at this venue, poor handicap form raises doubts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (9/1 -13%) Magic Force |
9/1(-13%) | (2) Magic Force 9/1, Lightly-raced gelding. Below best at the Curragh (6f, good to firm) when last seen in August but had posted fair fifth over this trip at Tipperary previously and warrants respect on polytrack debut. Best of his three Irish when fifth in a 5f handicap at Tipperary in August, extra needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (40/1 -567%) Happy Henry |
40/1(-567%) | (1) Happy Henry 40/1, Twice-raced gelding. Seventh of 14 in maiden (40/1) at this course (8f) 28 days ago, merely passing beaten rivals. Significantly down in trip. Others preferred. Has started slowly in races over 6f and 1m at this venue, this trip is hardly ideal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (150/1 -500%) Fox Island |
150/1(-500%) | (6) Fox Island 150/1, Lightly-raced filly. 33/1 and hooded for 1st time, first run since leaving Lisa Williamson when seventh of 10 in maiden at this course (6f) 21 days ago. Work to do. Did not look straightforward over 6f here on last month's Irish debut, others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (66/1 -136%) Soar Beyond |
66/1(-136%) | (7) Soar Beyond 66/1, Lightly-raced filly. 150/1, last of 12 in maiden at Cork (5f, good). Off 180 days. Makes polytrack debut. Blinkered for 1st time. Improvement required. From a leading stable but nothing to suggest she can feature, first time with blinkers. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MINT MAN has been placed here on a number of occasions and appears to have found a good opportunity to open his account. The Pat Murphy-trained gelding went close in a 6f maiden this autumn and didn't enjoy the clearest of passages when again narrowly denied in a handicap over C&D last Friday. The selection put in a below par effort here on his penultimate start when finishing behind Crystal Luna but, on the balance of form, should come out on top. Magic Force filled the runner-up spot twice over this trip as a juvenile and tries this surface for the first time.
MINT MAN bounced back to his best here last week and looks the one to beat in the opener. Crystal Luna and Magic Force can also make their presence felt.
This could provide five-time runner-up MINT MAN with an overdue success. A reproduction of last week's handicap third might suffice.

1st (5) (14/1 +30%) Jackeline |
14/1(+30%) | (5) Jackeline 14/1, Took a small step back in right direction when fifth of 6 in handicap hurdle at Lingfield (16f, good, 14/1) 29 days ago. Still looking for first success, though, and percentage call is to look elsewhere. Shown ability on soft; probably needs a shade more than latest 5th over 2m at Lingfield. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (11/4 +17%) Lady Caro |
11/4(+17%) | (7) Lady Caro 11/4, Bounced back to something like her best form when second of 14 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Just 1 lb higher now and ought to go well again. Not yet off the mark but should be able to find something off current mark; thereabouts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (22/1 -214%) A Little Something |
22/1(-214%) | (3) A Little Something 22/1, Found a little improvement when second of 6 in novice hurdle at Huntingdon (15.8f, good) 29 days ago. May do better now sent handicapping and is worth monitoring in the market. Minor form so far but making quiet progress over hurdles; can do better now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (7/1 0%) It's Easy |
7/1(0%) | (1) It's Easy 7/1, Fairly useful maiden chaser in France but just respectable efforts at best for Clive Boultbee-Brooks. Down in the weights as a result and sound start for this yard when second at Stratford (16.3f) in October. Couldn't really build on that at Ffos Las latest but can't be ruled out here. Ran well off reduced mark for new yard in October; non-stayer at 2m6f since. |

5th (6) (11/8 +0%) Culligran |
11/8(+0%) | (6) Culligran 11/8, Found improvement when getting off the mark in 8-runner handicap hurdle over C&D (good to soft) 14 days ago, comfortably. 7 lb higher now but further progress may be on the cards. Had a C&D race on good to soft in safe keeping from some way out on latest; up 7lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 +60%) Villainess |
4/1(+60%) | (2) Villainess 4/1, Came good in a 2m Stratford maiden in April but has been unable to make a significant impact in handicaps since. Form claims before below best in a hood of late; may do better back at 2m with no headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (50/1 -150%) Granny B |
50/1(-150%) | (4) Granny B 50/1, Fair winner on the Flat and while she has done the majority of her racing over sprint distances, stamina didn't appear to be an issue when sixth in a Ludlow novice (15.8f) last month. Backed that up when third at Huntingdon since but more required now handicapping. 5f winner on Flat; on the heels of A Little Something last month; stamina queried on soft. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (40/1 -21%) Dorcas Road |
40/1(-21%) | (8) Dorcas Road 40/1, Yet to trouble the judge after 6 attempts and disapponted on yard debut at Worcester 56 days ago. Hood on first time, tongue strap back on. Had wind operation. Glimmer of ability but well adrift and pulled up for new yard in October; had wind op. |

9th (9) (200/1 -203%) Charlotte Square |
200/1(-203%) | (9) Charlotte Square 200/1, Down the field in a handful of starts on the Flat for Andrew Balding and has offered little since sent hurdling for current yard, including on handicap debut here in October. 7 lb out of the weights. Best watched. Minor form so far, most recently on AW before pulled up back hurdling; 7lb wrong. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
CULLIGRAN returned from a break to bolt up over track and trip last month and she was given a 7lb rise for that victory. John O'Shea's five-year-old has lots in her favour again and will prove very difficult to beat. Lady Caro was beaten 12 lengths into second in this grade at Fontwell last time and should go well off 1lb higher, while A Little Something is another to keep an eye on.
Recent C&D winner CULLIGRAN is going the right way and makes fair appeal in her follow-up bid. The Emma Lavelle duo Lady Caro and A Little Something rate the principal dangers.
Most of these have something to prove at present but CULLIGRAN (nap) is suited by a bare 2m and can follow up her recent C&D win.

1st (3) (3/1 +60%) Tommy Combats |
3/1(+60%) | (3) Tommy Combats 3/1, Placed in Irish points and went the right way over hurdles last season, runner-up at Perth on final outing. Offered something to work amidst inexperience switched to this sphere after 7 months off when fourth at Carlisle (15.9f, good to soft) recently and seems sure to build on that. Ex-Irish pointer; fair 4th (behind two of these) on chase debut last month; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (11/1 -22%) Celestial Fashion |
11/1(-22%) | (5) Celestial Fashion 11/1, Opened her account in 17f conditionals handicap at Newcastle in March and caused a 28/1 surprise after 6 months off in 13-runner handicap at Ayr (19.5f, good to soft) just over 6 weeks ago. Interesting to see what the market makes of her on chase debut. Two wins over hurdles, latest over 2m3f; going suits; could go well on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (14/1 -155%) Raffles Wonder |
14/1(-155%) | (2) Raffles Wonder 14/1, Free-going sort who proved better than ever when getting off the mark here (16.2f) in March. May have found race coming too soon at Wetherby 5 days later but back on song when third of 7 in handicap hurdle at this course (20.1f, heavy) when last seen in April. Makes chase debut/return. Won C&D h'cap hurdle in March; going suits; quite interesting now chasing after a break. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (11/2 +45%) Heeztheboy |
11/2(+45%) | (6) Heeztheboy 11/2, Offered little in a bumper/over hurdles but having attracted support, proved a different proposition sent chasing despite being 9 lb out of the weights when scoring over C&D last December. Rather lost his way after, but did hint at a revival back over timber on return at Carlisle last month. Won this race off 7lb higher in 2023; fair hurdles run latest; interesting back chasing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (17/2 -55%) Treaty Boy |
17/2(-55%) | (1) Treaty Boy 17/2, Made a winning chase debut at Catterick in February on final run for Rebecca Menzies and back to that sort of form on fourth start for current yard when third of 11 in handicap at Carlisle (15.9f, good to soft) last month. Failed to complete at Sedgefield last week and now drops back to 2m. Catterick winner in February; fair third at Carlisle two runs back; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (9/1 +55%) Ensel Du Perche |
9/1(+55%) | (10) Ensel Du Perche 9/1, Won 2m1f handicap chases at Market Rasen and Cartmel early last season. Ran as well as he is capable of nowadays when third of 6 at Sedgefield (16.4f, good to soft) just over a fortnight ago and each-way claims with that under his belt. 2-12 over fences; decent reappearance run when third at Sedgefield and one with a chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (50/1 -213%) Stowaway John |
50/1(-213%) | (8) Stowaway John 50/1, Finally opened his account when proving 8½ lengths too strong for Cudgel here (20.1f, heavy) in March. Pitched into a much deeper race and remained in good form when fourth of 13 at this course (20.1f, soft) back in May, noted running on late. Returns back down in trip. Won over 2m4f here in March; fair run next time (May); off since and may need this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (28/1 -300%) Cudgel |
28/1(-300%) | (7) Cudgel 28/1, All 6 career wins have been registered at this venue and he typically gave a good account of himself when third here (20.1f, soft) 6 months ago. Has gone well fresh in the past so certainly worth a second look. All six wins here, last two over 1m7f; off since third here in June and may need the run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (22/1 -83%) Blended Stealth |
22/1(-83%) | (9) Blended Stealth 22/1, Long-standing maiden who went agonisingly close on penultimate start at this venue last month. However, he ran a shocker at Sedgefield 6 days later (possibly found the race coming too soon) and now has his second start over the larger obstacles (was pulled up in November 2022). Maiden; good 2nd over hurdles 2 runs back; not jump well on only chase start; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (15/8 +53%) Fearless Action |
15/8(+53%) | (4) Fearless Action 15/8, Hails from a yard enjoying its best spell in a while and ran well after 10 months off when second of 11 in handicap chase at Carlisle (15.9f, good to soft) just over 3 weeks ago, collared close home having quickened clear between last 2. Can make amends here. Improved since wind op; good second at Carlisle on reappearance and should go well again. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FEARLESS ACTION (second) went close to winning on his first run of the season at Carlisle, when finishing ahead of Treaty Boy (third) and Tommy Combats (fourth), and Chris Grant's gelding appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to gain a second career success. Treaty Boy has since failed to complete at Sedgefield and the likelihood is that the main threat on this occasion may come from Tommy Combats. That outing was his first appearance over fences and the five-year-old potentially has more improvement in him.
Chis Grant is going through a purple patch at present and his FEARLESS ACTION is fancied to go a place better than on return at Carlisle just over 3 weeks ago at the expense of Tommy Combats, who offered something to work on amid inexperience switched to this sphere when finishing a couple of places behind the selection that day. Raffles Wonder and Ensel du Perche can fight out minor honours.
Following his good run on his reappearance where two of today's rivals were behind him, FEARLESS ACTION looks the one to beat.

10/3(+58%) | (8) Rhythm And Tyne 10/3, Has struggled this year (mainly over hurdles) but won on his last 2 visits here at the end of 2023. Market support would look significant. Dual course winner last winter; arrives in poor form; needs revival for return to AW. |

13th (7) (9/1 -170%) Away He Goes |
9/1(-170%) | (7) Away He Goes 9/1, Smart for Ismail Mohammed in his prime but off for 21 months and changed hands for only 3,000 gns this autumn. A potential cut above at this level but the betting is perhaps the best guide to expectations. 2nd in Goodwood Cup in his pomp but serious doubts about what's left after 3,000gns sale. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
AUTOCRAT comes here in good form compared to most of his rivals and may be able to follow up a recent handicap success over an extended 1m2f. The selection has gained all four career wins at this venue including over this trip and Nicola Burns again claims a valuable 7lb. Away He Goes is the clear pick on form and was second in a Listed race at Meydan early last year. However, he now reappears after a lengthy absence and expectations don't appear too high considering the lowly valuation he's put in at here. Timourid enters calculations on his second to Nibiru over an extended 1m2f here in October, while Rockview Consort and Infatuator are others to consider.
Denis Hogan holds the key to this race. GOD OF THUNDER, who was pretty useful on AW for Richard Hannon, is the mount of Joey Sheridan from the yard's trio and is preferred to Timourid. Rhythm And Tyne was successful twice at this venue at a similar time last year and would enter the reckoning if the betting suggests he's expected to stage a revival back on AW. The other Hogan runner Away He Goes would pick up and carry these at his best but he hasn't been seen for 21 months.
Denis Hogan has a good strike-rate in claimers and TIMOURID might be worth chancing having gone close in a course claimer in October

300/1(-50%) | (11) Our Rosie 300/1, Down the field in bumpers 19 months apart. Some promise on debut but tailed off when reappearing at Southwell last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
JUST GOLDEN changed hands for 120,000 euros in June last year and the son of Flemensfirth is related to plenty of winners. With Dan Skelton's string in fine order at present, he gets the vote to make a winning debut. Doctor On Call is a half-brother to Martator and it would be no surprise to see him get involved on his first start, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Of the remainder, Getaway Sam makes the most appeal.
This looks set to go to a newcomer, with DOCTOR ON CALL, Just Golden and Getaway Sam the three most appealing ones before betting clues.
The market should be revealing but as things stand preference is for the Skelton newcomer JUST GOLDEN, who cost 120,000euros.

CALRISSIANA has shown promise in four outings notably when third behind the odds-on Minnie Hauk over this trip at Leopardstown. It's a concern that she appeared to run below that form when switched to this surface last month and there are a number of interesting newcomers to keep a close eye on. Heather makes plenty of appeal on pedigree being a sister to Irish Derby winner Latrobe while Beautiful Affair is by Wootton Bassett out of a winning Galileo mare and has gained some experience in a barrier trial. Any market moves for Electric Beauty, Love Sonnet or Pekan would be significant.
HEATHER is bred to be smart and gets the nod to make a winning debut before market clues. Calrissiana has the form to be in the thick of the action if bouncing back from a laboured effort over C&D recently, with Sweet Illusions another to watch closely in the betting having already shown some promise in a barrier trial.
This trip shoud be fine as a starting point for HEATHER, a sister to Irish Derby winner Latrobe and Oak second Pink Dogwood

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
NANNY PARK improved on her debut fifth over track and trip to finish ahead of Sweet Couture (third) when hitting the crossbar at Lingfield on her most recent start. James Fanshawe's youngster might be able to put those experiences to good use in order to get off the mark. Oisin Murphy is booked on Sweet Couture, so it would be no surprise to see her mount a bold bid. Any market confidence behind newcomer Lesson Of Life would be interesting.
The bar set by those with experience isn't particularly high so a debutante may well come to the fore. Before the benefit of market clues LESSON OF LIFE is preferred to Ribenska, who has the outside stall to contend with. Pacifist is a sure-fire improver so she warrants respect.
The form choice is NANNY PARK, ahead of Sweet Couture and Pacifist. Lesson Of Life looks the pick of the newcomers.

5/2(+38%) | (8) Movin And Groovin 5/2, Consistent sort who posted another creditable effort when fourth of 13 in nursery (7/2) at this course (7f) 21 days ago. Should give another good account. Penultimate C&D third was encouraging but that was over 1m, this trip may be too sharp. |

3rd (1) (9/2 +44%) Powerful Lady |
9/2(+44%) | (1) Powerful Lady 9/2, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form seventh of 12 in nursery (12/1) at the Curragh (6f, good to firm). Off 116 days. Makes polytrack debut. Others more persuasive. Faded in the final furlong of a 6f nursery at the Curragh in August, this is a weaker race. |

6/1(-71%) | (5) Vanilla Baby 6/1, Fifth of 8 in nursery (8/1) at this course (5f) 19 days ago. Nicely treated on best form. Doubts raised by recent form, went close on handicap/AW debut over C&D three starts ago. |

9th (6) (80/1 -21%) Star Allure |
80/1(-21%) | (6) Star Allure 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 66/1, thirteenth of 14 in nursery at this C&D 35 days ago. Not easy to make a strong case for. Held by Vanilla Baby, Movin And Groovin and Kensington Hope on running five weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
VANILLA BABY had Movin And Groovin, Kensington Hope, Romantic War and Star Allure all behind when runner-up to Tomarlo over C&D last month. The Joseph O'Brien-trained filly subsequently didn't enjoy a clear passage when finishing behind Movin And Groovin over 7f and two days later lost her chance at the start over 5f. Ado McGuinness' charge is probably best suited by a longer trip while Bansha Belle and Brigadier Kakuru both try handicap company for the first time. The former ran well over this trip on debut while Brigadier Kakuru has also shown pace and Colin Keane is a significant booking.
BRIGADIER KAKURU left his previous form behind when fourth at this course last month and remains low mileage. He can get off the mark. Bansha Belle and Movin And Groovin are feared most.
It could pay to side with BRIGADIER KAKURU (nap) who appeared not to stay 7f last time and should be suited by a return to 6f now

17/2(+29%) | (12) Goal Line 17/2, Showed ability when third of 7 on 6f Ayr debut but down the field in a warm maiden at York in August. This much easier at least. Both starts on turf; stiff task last time; has place claims on debut form (third at Ayr). |

200/1(-506%) | (13) Itsgottobefun 200/1, Foaled April 25. €4,000 yearling, Gregorian gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners abroad, including by Kuroshio Dream Ahead. Dam, winner up to 11f (2-y-o 1m winner), half-sister to Oaks d'Italia runner-up Rosa di Brema. 4,000euros yearling; by Grergorian; others are more appealing. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MOLVENO took a step forward from his debut to make the frame at Southwell last month and he is likely to have plenty more to offer. The son of Almanzor is well-drawn in stall 2 and he could be the one to beat. Golden Thorn showed lots of greenness when finishing midfield on her debut over 7f at this venue and is entitled to improve, while 50,000gns purchase Invincible Duke needs to be monitored in the market.
Ralph Beckett has an excellent group of 2-y-os this year so it would come as no surprise if INVINCIBLE DUKE can make a winning start in what looks a weak novice. McKenna is open to plenty of improvement after catching the eye at Lingfield last week so rates the main threat ahead of Golden Thorn, who should prove all the better for her debut here.
The form pick is MOLVENO judged on his Southwell effort. Golden Thorn is second choice.

4/1(+11%) | (2) Frankton 4/1, Once-raced colt. Tongue strap on, ninth of 14 in C&D maiden on debut 14 days ago, having to pick way through. Open to improvement. Nibbled in market on debut over C&D, failed to make much impact, Colin Keane booked. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SPYCRAFT cost 310,000 guineas as a yearling and gets the vote to make a winning debut. The Siyouni colt out of an unraced daughter of Invincible Spirit hails from the family of multiple Group 1 winner Magical. Stablemate Wannabe Royal cost 150,000 guineas as a yearling and is by Wootton Bassett out of a Group 3 winner, while Nepal is another newcomer to note and is stoutly bred on the dam's side. Kayamite showed some promise on debut in mid-division behind Misappropriation over C&D last month and on a line through Fortuna Vera may hold an edge over Frankton.
The betting will likely be informative here. SPYCRAFT is probably the Joseph O'Brien first string judged on jockey bookings and gets the vote before any market clues are known. Frankton more than hinted at promise on his C&D debut and is second choice with Colin Keane taking the ride. The other O'Brien runner Wannabe Royal is also bred to be useful.
Not much to go on here. The vote goes to SPYCRAFT, a £310,000 purchase who is out of an unraced mare from a strong family

11/2(+8%) | (4) Hippocratic Oath 11/2, 10/3, improved further to follow up his Wolverhampton success when winning 12-runner nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 51 days ago. Up 7 lb but should give another good account bidding for a hat-trick. 2-2 in h'caps, winning Class 6 events at Wolverhampton & Southwell; 7lb rise demands more. |

50/1(-100%) | (7) Thiscouldbefun 50/1, 15/2, too free when last of 6 in nursery at Bath (8f, soft) just under 6 weeks ago. Others more persuasive. Looks exposed and maiden status set to remain intact. |

5th (3) (17/2 +29%) Montpellier Green |
17/2(+29%) | (3) Montpellier Green 17/2, 10/1, ran just respectably making all-weather debut on first outing since leaving Joseph Patrick O'Brien (sold for 19,000 gns) when fourth of 5 in nursery at this C&D 3 weeks ago, needing stronger gallop. 7f win in Ireland; unsuited by the slow pace when fourth of five over C&D on stable debut. |

6th (6) (25/1 -317%) Twilight Moon |
25/1(-317%) | (6) Twilight Moon 25/1, 4/1, benefited from the step up in trip and showed improved form when second of 11 in maiden at Brighton (8f, good to soft) a couple of months ago. 8th (5) (80/1 -186%) Magic Glow |
80/1(-186%) | (5) Magic Glow 80/1, 22/1, wasn't in the same form as last time making first handicap start when eighth of 12 at Lingfield (7f, AW) 7 days ago, enduring a less-than-ideal trip from her wide draw. More needed now upped to 1m. Has shown promise on AW but down the field on last week's nursery debut; now up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Hippocratic Oath made it two out of two since switching to nurseries when scoring at Southwell last time and should mount a bold bid in his attempt to complete a hat-trick. However, a 7lb higher mark makes life tougher and, with that in mind, WILD NATURE gets the nod. Charlie Appleby's juvenile occupied the runner-up berth over track and trip last time and can strike off a 2lb higher rating with William Buick back in the plate. Master Technician is another to note.
WILD NATURE bounced back to form when finishing runner-up over C&D 3 weeks ago and, with further improvement on the cards, Charlie Appleby's charge is fancied to open his account. The main danger looks to be Master Technician, who made the most of a good opportunity at Musselburgh 5 weeks ago and can progress again back on all-weather with Murphy taking over in the plate. The hat-trick-seeking Hippocratic Oath completes the shortlist.
Wild Nature should go well again but MASTER TECHNICIAN (nap) is improving with experience and can make a winning nursery debut.

FERRARI DESERT has progressed well since joining Mark Fahey this year and had the slow starting Golden Days behind when making a successful transition to the Polytrack over C&D. The selection was subsequently third behind Shaaden and Jackie Brown and that form has been well advertised since. Golden Days has gained all four career wins over this trip and having stayed on into third last time behind Finsceal Annie, now replaces cheekpieces with a visor. Circles, Harry The Rogue, Draiocht and Hastily are others for the shortlist.
GOLDEN DAYS has shaped well here the last twice so could be the answer with a good-value apprentice booked. Harry The Rogue and Ferrari Desert head the dangers.
This can go the way of course and distance specialist, CIRCLES, who shaped with plenty of promise on last month's return

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Those with experience don't appear to set a lofty standard so it might be worth taking a chance on JENUBIYAH. Her dam is an unraced sister to Oaks and King George winner Taghrooda and connections of this daughter of Too Darn Hot will be disappointed if she couldn't make her presence felt in a race like this first time up. This step up in trip should see the unexposed Jarham to better effect and he gets the vote to emerge as the main danger to the selection. Happy Banner is also noteworthy.
JENUBIYAH makes plenty of appeal on paper starting out in a race in which those with previous form set only a fair standard, so Roger Varian's filly could be the way to go before market clues. Jarham and Happy Banner both improved with a debut run under their belts and can also feature.
Happy Banner has more to offer but so does JARHAM and today's new trip looks sure to suit.

20/1(-43%) | (13) Jalo 20/1, Course winner. One win from 22 Flat runs. Not at best when seventh of 14 in handicap (10/1) at this course (8f) 33 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Needs a couple of these to falter. Sole win came at 6f in September 2023; struggling for form for new yard; trip may help. |

11th (5) (14/1 +0%) Snag It |
14/1(+0%) | (5) Snag It 14/1, C&D winner. 15/2, tenth of 14 in handicap at this C&D when last seen in March, headed 2f out and no extra. Has gone well fresh previously and he lines up here operating just 1 lb above last winning mark. C&D winner; good run in February but not as good since; may need this after 264 days off. |

12th (6) (14/1 -17%) Buckhead Betty |
14/1(-17%) | (6) Buckhead Betty 14/1, First run since leaving Joseph Patrick O'Brien when ninth of 13 in handicap (10/1) at this C&D 12 days ago, not clear run. Cheekpieces back on and she's not one to write off. Unplaced in seven starts and hasn't found any improvement for the switch to h'caps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
HIJO DE LA LUNA is still a maiden after 19 starts but has dropped down to a competitive mark and gave plenty of encouragement last time when beating all bar Numidia over C&D with Ranko Express only about a length behind in sixth. The application of cheekpieces recently appears to have helped the selection to concentrate, while Tassarolo rates a threat having stayed on over a mile on his handicap debut last week and should appreciate this longer trip. Waystar has shown promise on her latest two starts over 1m4f and could be suited by this shorter distance.
RANKO EXPRESS was far from disgraced and is entitled to be sharper for his first start for six months when midfield in a C&D handicap 12 days ago and, lurking on a handy mark, he could be worth chancing to come out on top. Hijo de La Luna, Buckhead Betty and Limestone Red are a trio of others to consider.
The weaker of the two divisions and long-standing maiden HIJO DE LA LUNA can take advantage after a narrow defeat over C&D last time

200/1(-203%) | (9) Amelia Sedley 200/1, 80/1, sixth of 14 in maiden at Chelmsford (7f) on debut 27 days ago. Would be a shock winner. Ran green and hung left when sixth of 14 on debut at Chelmsford last month.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This looks a tricky puzzle to solve so only a tentative vote goes to DARING FLIGHT. The 475,000gns gelded son of Dubawi represents a stable who are operating at a 30% strike rate at this venue this year and he gets the vote to score first time up. Kingman colt Exactly Right looks the main danger to the selection on paper and merits the utmost respect, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Jolly Roger was far from disgraced when third over 6f at Newmarket last month and completes the shortlist now stepping up in trip.
This might go the way of a newcomer, with Ralph Beckett's EXACTLY RIGHT narrowly preferred to Godolphin's Daring Flight before any market clues are known. Jolly Roger looks clear pick of those with experience.
The Crisfords' JOLLY ROGER is taken to score at the second attempt. Daring Flight is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GALLO DELL CIELO showed improved form when getting up close home to land a 16-runner mile handicap at Gowran and has shaped well on both outings since over C&D. The selection went close behind Barretstown and was again prominent throughout when beating all bar the progressive The World's Astage. The Real Screamer appreciated a step up in trip and the switch to this surface when scoring in great style over C&D last month and the Awtaad gelding should again give a good account off his revised mark. Is She Now wasn't beaten far on handicap debut here last time while Omakase is another to consider.
OMAKASE shaped well on her first try over this trip here a month ago and with a career-low mark to exploit, she could be the answer. The Real Screamer was better than ever when successful here last time and is feared most, though Gallo Dell Cielo also arrives on the back of a much-improved showing.
A chance is taken on the unexposed filly, SAGA DES AIGLES who showed more in a maiden here recently and has been given a fair mark

11/4(+45%) | (1) Tennessee Gold 11/4, Course winner. Latest win at Sandown in August. Below form fourth of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, heavy, 10/3) 39 days ago. 6th (11) (15/2 +17%) Ultramarine |
15/2(+17%) | (11) Ultramarine 15/2, C&D winner. 3 wins from 23 runs this year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in September. Better than result when seventh of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 9/2) 6 days ago given he was short of room. Very consistent in the last four months; 2-3 over C&D and warrants respect. |

Won at Chelmsford last time, taking AW record to 8-54; still well treated on peak form. |

33/1(-65%) | (4) Mister Bluebird 33/1, Latest win at Bath in October. Twelfth of 15 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, heavy, 50/1) 32 days ago. Cheekpieces back on down markedly in class. Six-time AW winner; 0-8 (inconsistent results) on AW; others preferred. |

20/1(+39%) | (8) Wallop 20/1, Course winner. 18/1 and blinkered for first time, last of 12 in handicap at this C&D 77 days ago. Plenty to prove at present. Has generally struggled in handicaps this term; something to prove. |

11th (2) (125/1 -89%) Mond |
125/1(-89%) | (2) Mond 125/1, 125/1, first run since leaving A. Fabre when last of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) on UK debut 18 days ago, slowly away on what his first run in over 3 years. Down in trip with hood on for first time. Ex-French 6yo who failed to beat a rival on British debut and is best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (3) (28/1 -100%) Cephalus |
28/1(-100%) | (3) Cephalus 28/1, Course winner. 4 wins from 11 runs this year. 66/1, eighth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (12.2f) 20 days ago. This a much more suitable trip. Productive last winter/spring; not in top form at present and is best over 1m. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
REVOLUTIONISE took advantage of a sliding mark to score cosily over this trip at Chelmsford last month and the suspicion is that a 2lb rise may underestimate Stuart Williams' admirable campaigner. Sixfiveseven did it well when landing the spoils over a mile at Newmarket and is likely to enter calculations off a 5lb higher mark, while the hat-trick seeking Stanley Spencer completes the shortlist.
This looks wide open but the return to the AW will surely suit TENNESSEE GOLD so he's taken to get back on the up. Stanley Spencer is feared most up in trip.
Being an in-form and solid contender who has a good record over C&D, ULTRAMARINE is preferred. Bell Shot is second pick.

2/1(+67%) | (4) Champagne Prince 2/1, Progressive on AW, posting a useful performance to win a handicap over this trip at Southwell in October. Couldn't extend his unbeaten AW record to 4 back there 3 weeks ago but still ran well for second. Solid effort at Southwell last month took his AW record to 1112; remains of major interest. |

Not in quite the same form when 4 lengths third to Bolster in a similar race at Newmarket since but still the one to beat here. Very useful horse who looks ready for a crack at this new trip and is top on the figures. |

3rd (3) (25/1 -25%) Fantasy Believer |
25/1(-25%) | (3) Fantasy Believer 25/1, Useful gelding. Course winner. Completed a handicap hat-trick when seeing off 11 rivals in a Racing League event at Southwell (11f) in August. His latest third back there shows he's still in form. Often starts slowly. Faces a stiffer task upped in class, against some younger rivals who have better claims. |

5/2(+44%) | (6) Power Of Destiny 5/2, Resumed her progression at the first time of asking for Ralph Beckett when winning an 11f course handicap last month. There could easily be more to come for her new stable. Relished the switch to AW in Kempton handicap last month on debut for new yard; respected. |

Ran well in Listed grade last time; sold out of the Gosden stable for 160,000gns since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
It is difficult to look past EYDON, who has been gradually brought back to somewhere near his best by the Andrew Balding team. The five-year-old is well clear of his rivals on ratings and stepping up to 1m4f looks like the perfect move following highly creditable efforts the last twice at Ayr and Newmarket. A taking winner over 1m3f here on her first start for new connections last month, Power Of Destiny could provide the chief threat to the selection, ahead of Champagne Prince.
EYDON will be a tough nut to crack if back to anywhere near the level he showed when runner-up in similar company at Ayr on his penultimate outing. Power of Destiny looked good when striking in handicap company here on her first outing for the Ralph Beckett yard and is second choice ahead of Champagne Prince.
Top rated Eydon is not opposed lightly but POWER OF DESTINY and Champagne Prince are alluring alternative options.

1st (3) (11/4 +21%) Duke Of Oxford |
11/4(+21%) | (3) Duke Of Oxford 11/4, Reliable stayer on all-weather who took this prize 12 months ago, enhancing his already impressive strike rate when winning 6-runner C&D handicap 3 weeks ago. Nudged up 2 lb and he's one of the likelier types again. Solid type whose record of 3-4 over C&D includes a success in this race last year. |

2nd (5) (6/1 -33%) Sheradann |
6/1(-33%) | (5) Sheradann 6/1, Useful, 3-time winner in France last year and ran his best race yet since switching to these shores when very good ½-length third of 6 to Duke of Oxford in handicap (17/2) at this C&D 21 days ago. Stronger gallop to aim at here will help and he's the type his yard do well with. 0-5 in Britain but posted a very encouraging effort switched to AW here last time. |

3rd (7) (12/1 -9%) Zoran |
12/1(-9%) | (7) Zoran 12/1, Versatile sort who landed a C&D handicap in June and, well handicapped on his exploits in this sphere, he resumed winning ways in 8-runner handicap hurdle at Southwell (20.4f) 26 days ago. Not discounted with his rider taking off a handy 3 lb. Made all over C&D when last seen on AW; came up short in this contest last year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (11/4 +39%) Cool Party |
11/4(+39%) | (4) Cool Party 11/4, C&D winner. 3 wins from 6 runs this year. 1¼ lengths fourth of 6 to Duke of Oxford in handicap at this C&D (10/3) 21 days ago, not ideally placed. Clearly remains in very good heart and no surprise to see more prominent tactics re-employed here. Creditable fourth to Duke Of Oxford last time, taking C&D record to 2114; solid. |

5th (11) (33/1 +0%) Francesco Baracca |
33/1(+0%) | (11) Francesco Baracca 33/1, Latest win here (12f) in August. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (12f, 7/1) 42 days ago, that despite taking strong hold. Refitting of a hood can help returned to this longer trip but work to do operating from 9 lb out of the weights. Has recent course form but is 9lb out of the weights upped in class. |

25/1(-150%) | (8) Red Flyer 25/1, C&D winner. 5/1, fourth of 7 in handicap at Southwell (14.1f) 23 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Cheekpieces back on and return to this longer trip in his favour here. Has never won in this grade but he's on a handy mark and Joe Leavy takes off 3lb. |

66/1(-230%) | (9) Damascus Steel 66/1, Course winner. Latest win at Newcastle in October. Sixth of 7 in handicap (11/1) at Southwell (14.1f) 23 days ago, finding nothing off the bridle. Still unexposed at this sort of trip but his recent record has been patchy. Yet to win beyond 12.5f; something to prove at 2m off this mark in this grade. |

11th (2) (9/2 +0%) Tritonic |
9/2(+0%) | (2) Tritonic 9/2, Versatile 7-y-o who posted a creditable 1¼ lengths second of 5 to Cool Party in handicap (11/8) at this C&D 35 days ago, headed before final 1f and keeping on until last ½f. Not out of things from same mark. Closely matched with Cool Party on C&D running five weeks ago; fighting chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.
A winner of three of his last four starts over this C&D, including last time out when he had Sheradann (third) half a length behind, DUKE OF OXFORD looks the one to beat again off a career-high mark of 93. Fourth in the aforementioned contest, Cool Party had won on his two previous outings over C&D and he might give Michael Bell's charge the most to think about. A capable sort on his day, Tritonic is expected to be thereabouts as well.
Last year's winner DUKE OF OXFORD enhanced his already impressive strike rate on all-weather when successful over C&D 3 weeks ago and a 2 lb rise for that success should see Michael Bell's 4-y-o highly competitive again. Cool Party, who was behind the selection latest, remains in good form and is feared. Sheradann and Tritonic are others fancied to be in the shake up.
The strongest-looking contenders tie in closely with each other. The percentage call goes to SHERADANN, ahead of Duke Of Oxford.

16/1(+20%) | (11) Grecian God 16/1, Winner at Wolverhampton in August. Eighth of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 20 days ago. Should be well treated but others come here with more pressing claims. |

13th (2) (9/1 -50%) Al Shabab |
9/1(-50%) | (2) Al Shabab 9/1, 4/1, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 19 days ago. Visor on 1st time. Not entirely convincing but has ability and new headgear/return to 7f can help. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
RIVER WHARFE has been knocking on the door of late and the conditions of this contest look to be in his favour, having not finished outside of the first two home on his last three starts over 7f. A comfortable winner at Lingfield on his penultimate outing, Voltaic must enter calculations, along with the consistent Time Patrol, who has finished runner-up on three of his last four starts. Al Shabab and Diamondsinthesand are capable of getting involved too.
VOLTAIC found himself a touch outspeeded back down in trip at Newcastle on Friday so is worth another chance returned to 7f (remains unpenalised for his win at Lingfield 8 days ago). Marchetti and Time Patrol head the dangers.
Having had more luck with the draw today, HELLO ZABEEL is taken to end his losing run now dropped into a 0-55 for the first time.
Ths is the racecard key.
