The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MAGIC BOUM may be able to make a winning start for Gordon Elliott. The Buck's Boum mare was a good winner of her point-to-point for Ellen Doyle back in February and the form of that race looks solid. The runner-up, Claim Du Brizais, was third in an Aintree bumper in late October, while the third horse, Pure Seduction, won a maiden hurdle in Worcester during the summer. Willie Mullins representative Kaid D'authie is an obvious danger. He was a promising fifth behind Triumph Hurdle winner Majborough on his sole start in France. Eastern Legend is the pick of those with hurdles form but he needs to improve on his showing at Punchestown a fortnight ago.
KAID D'AUTHIE has been off the track since a promising debut in France last spring but he's joined Willie Mullins so fitness is no concern and he's open to plenty of improvement. Eastern Legend sets a pretty good standard for the rest to aim at, while point-recruit Magic Boum needs a second look, too.
EASTERN LEGEND wasn't beaten far in a Grade 1 at the Punchestown festival and shaped like he would come on for his recent return

Has subsequently left D. Sourdeau de Beauregard €230,000 and would surely have a serious chance with a repeat effort. |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (13) (200/1 -82%) Rio Doce |
200/1(-82%) | (13) Rio Doce 200/1, Last of 9 in handicap (100/1) at Down Royal (18.6f, good to firm). Was tailed off on his only previous start hurdling in August 2023 so can only be watched. Tailed off when 125-1 for a maiden hurdle in 2023 and shown little on the Flat since. |

ECHOING SILENCE is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Deafening Silence and after showing plenty of the family talent when tasting point-to-point success at Ballycahane back in March, she changed hands at the Cheltenham Festival sale for 410,000 pounds. With that sort of price tag, plenty will be expected of her and she can deliver at the first time of asking for Henry de Bromhead. Autoportrait was a 230,000-euro purchase in November 2023 and is an interesting runner for Mouse Morris. The Authorized gelding was placed behind a decent sort in Kalibre at Auteuil on his second outing in October last year. Dont Tell Jack is another interesting recruit from between the flags.
Cases can be made for a few of these, but KIRSCA DE THAIX changed hands for €200,000 after winning a Le Mans bumper last year and having joined Willie Mullins, she can make a successful switch to hurdling at the expense of another French import in Autoportrait, who ran to a fairly useful level second time up at Auteuil and has since moved yards for a significant sum. Grimaud, Lucy Wang and Echoing Silence are a handful of others to consider, too.
GRIMAUD ran a cracker on his yard debut at Cork last month and has solid claims if he jumps a bit better

1st (7) (4/6 +47%) Honky Tonk Highway |
4/6(+47%) | (7) Honky Tonk Highway 4/6, Listed bumper winner on Rules debut here in March. Never in the hunt in Aintree Grade 2 the following month but subsequently underwent a wind op and well clear of the rest when chasing home a smart prospect on return/hurdles bow at Warwick (19f, soft). Major player. Solid effort at Warwick last month; respected back at the scene of her Listed bumper win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (5/2 +62%) Hartington |
5/2(+62%) | (3) Hartington 5/2, Shaped like more of a handicap prospect on first 2 starts in this sphere but well worth his place in this grade having improved markedly when landing a decent Newbury novice (16.3f, good to soft) last month. Merits respect. Showed clear improvement at Newbury last month and may build on that win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (50/1 +24%) Mount Gay Run |
50/1(+24%) | (5) Mount Gay Run 50/1, From a good jumping family but just minor promise in couple of Chepstow bumpers for Paul Nicholls last winter. Huge step forward will be needed if he's to make an impact at this level on hurdles debut. Has something to find on his Chepstow bumper efforts for Paul Nicholls. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (6/1 -71%) Epinephrine |
6/1(-71%) | (6) Epinephrine 6/1, Half-sister to 4 winners and shaped well when third in newcomers' race at Auteuil on hurdles debut last October, finishing 7 lengths behind winner Kamsinea, who landed a Grade 2 on her next start. Subsequently changed hands for €100,000 and she's an intriguing candidate on debut for new yard. Placed twice in France last year; absent for 14 months; market instructive. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (2) (18/1 +10%) Cresta Cat |
18/1(+10%) | (2) Cresta Cat 18/1, Fairly useful on the Flat, recording a hat-trick of low-grade handicaps at up to 1½m in October. Bred to make a hurdler but this looks a tough starting point, what with several promising types in opposition. Completed a Flat hat-trick in October but form dipped last time; hurdles debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 1 race.
Hartington returned a comfortable winner at Newbury and can feature once again if proving as effective on today's softer going. However, the underfoot conditions are not a problem for HONKY TONK HIGHWAY, who won a Listed bumper on soft ground here in March and found only the odds-on favourite too good at Warwick on last month's hurdling debut. She can shown the benefit of that experience and land this prize. Juby Ball has shown ability in bumpers and is one to note now hurdling, while Epinephrine is related to winning hurdlers in France and debuts for Venetia Williams' in-form yard.
Several promising types on show, with HONKY TONK HIGHWAY the pick on the back of a highly encouraging hurdles debut second to a potentially smart novice at Warwick. The bumper she landed here in March was a decent contest (the second and third have both won over hurdles since) and she is open to plenty of improvement. French recruit Epinephrine is of strong interest, while Hartington, who improved when scoring at Newbury, and bumper winner Juby Ball also enter calculations.
Armed with her 7lb sex allowance, HONKY TONK HIGHWAY is selected to register a second Sandown win. Juby Ball is second choice.

All eyes here will be on Cheltenham bumper winner JASMIN DE VAUX on his hurdling debut. The Tirwanako gelding already has jumping experience, having won a point-to-point, and will be expected to take high order among the novices this term. His season ended disappointingly at Punchestown last term but he should be able to start his hurdling campaign on a brighter note. The Enabler finished lame at Cork last time and it's fair to draw a line through that run. He won a Listed bumper here last term and appears the one most likely to give the selection a race. Workahead looked like a nice sort when winning his point-to-point and is one to keep an eye on.
JASMIN DE VAUX showed plenty of talent in bumpers and should be well schooled for this first crack at hurdling, so he's preferred to stablemate Joueur Masque, who also tries obstacles for the first time. Returning point winner Workahead is also considered in a competitive event.
WORKAHEAD will need a trip in time but impressed when winning his point & holds a Grade 1 entry for Leopardstown's Christmas festival

Respectable 12¼ lengths third of 8 to The Yellow Clay in Monksfield Novices' Hurdle (9/2) at this C&D (good to soft) 20 days ago. Beaten 12 1/2l in third behind The Yellow Clay here last month, unlikely to reverse form. |

3rd (6) (8/1 +6%) Mozzies Sister |
8/1(+6%) | (6) Mozzies Sister 8/1, Dual bumper winner. Also made a successful start over hurdles in 8-runner maiden (1/3) at Galway (16f, soft) 41 days ago. Up in trip. Should have more to offer. Smart form in bumpers, will need to jump better than when odds-on Galway winner. |

8/1(+33%) | (3) My Great Mate 8/1, Fairly useful hurdler. 2 wins from 6 runs this season. 11/10, didn't need to improve to win 5-runner novice hurdle at Galway (20.7f, heavy) 41 days ago. Stable in good form. Dual bumper winner, solid form in 2m4f hurdles on soft ground, stable's only runner. |

6th (5) (22/1 -22%) Will The Wise |
22/1(-22%) | (5) Will The Wise 22/1, Twice-raced winner under NH rules. 5/2, second of 18 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (15.5f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 22 days ago. Up in trip. Stable in good form. Very hard to make a case for. No match for Willie Mullins-trained favourite on hurdling debut, faces a tough task. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THE YELLOW CLAY looks hard to oppose here after a commanding performance over course and distance last month. The Yeats gelding quickened away in good style when taking the Grade 3 Monksfield Novice Hurdle last time and takes another step up the ladder now. Willie Mullins relies on My Great Mate. He won a decent contest in Galway on his last outing and while he probably needs to improve on that again, the same connections struck with a horse with a similar profile in Tounsivator at this level at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Fleur In The Park was a solid third behind the selection here last time and could take minor honours again.
THE YELLOW CLAY was very impressive in a Grade 3 here last time and can take the next step up the ladder in his stride. Stablemate Patter Merchant will be suited by the step back up in trip and is feared most ahead of My Great Mate.
Apart from an error two out, THE YELLOW CLAY did everything right in a Grade 3 here last month. He should have no trouble following up

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Irish National winner Intense Raffles is the big name in the line-up and it will be interesting to see how he fares over timber. Aintree is the main aim and Bryony Frost is a noteworthy booking on his return to action. However, the vote goes to MY TRUMP CARD, who could be on a nice mark here on his handicap debut. The Albert Bartlett was mentioned as the plan after his maiden hurdle win here in January and he looks to have the potential to improve again this season. A chasing campaign was mooted for him this term and it's interesting he turns out here. The progressive Flicker Of Hope is another to note but is up in grade now.
OSCARS BROTHER produced a career best when taking a 6-runner listed event at Cork and, with the performance supported by a healthy timefigure, he's very much of interest now switched to a handicap from a fair-looking opening mark. My Trump Card, Paggane and Four Clean Aces are a trio of others to consider in an ultra-competitive handicap that is likely to make for strong form.
Several novices here with potential for improvement, and it could pay to side with the Gordon Elliott-trained PRENDS GARDE A TOI.

33/1(-175%) | (7) Macdermott 33/1, Career best when winning 26-runner handicap chase at Ayr (31.8f, good to soft, 18/1). Off 7 months and moves significantly down in trip here. Led four out and stayed on resolutely to win Scottish National, can continue to progress. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MISS TEMPO was very good when winning at Naas last time and may be able to bag a follow up success, despite a 10lb hike. The Milan mare jumped well when making all last month and gets into this Listed handicap off a lovely weight. Willie Mullins is well represented with five runners, including Scottish National winner MacDermott. He obviously stays further but has won at this trip over hurdles and was placed at two miles over fences. He commands respect on his return. Interestingly Paul Townend sides with Adamantly Chosen. He made little impression in the Grand National last term and was also well beaten at Punchestown, but he is capable on his day.
SA FUREUR made up into a useful novice chaser last season, a campaign which culminated in this 7-y-o finishing a fine fourth in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival. He also put in a good shift when runner-up on return in a big-field handicap hurdle at Navan and is taken to go one better here. Adamantly Chosen is the pick of Paul Townend from five Willie Mullins-trained runners and he is feared most ahead of Miss Tempo.
Last season's Grand Annual fourth SA FUREUR should find this trip within his range and can build on a recent hurdles run at this venue

Grade 1 winner GOOD LAND should prove the one to beat if taking to fences on his return from an absence. The Blue Bresil gelding was forced to sit out last season with a tendon injury and connections will be keen to make up for lost time. He won at the top level at the Dublin Racing Festival in February 2023 before a solid run to finish fourth in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham the following month. Ile Atlantique was placed twice at Grade 1 level last season and looks the obvious danger on his chase debut. Now Is The Hour will appreciate any rain and is another for the shortlist.
Lots of these bring potential, not least Willie Mullins' useful winning hurdler ILE ATLANTIQUE and he is taken to go in at the first time of asking over fences at the chief expense of form pick Dee Capo. Other chasing debutants Mahon's Way, Good Land and Chosen Witness also need factoring into this intriguing beginners chase along with Now Is The Hour and Backtonormal.
This can go the way of NOW IS THE HOUR, who is a Grade 2-winning hurdler and found the trip too sharp when second on his chasing bow

2nd (2) (7/1 +50%) Coyote Spirit |
7/1(+50%) | (2) Coyote Spirit 7/1, Lucky Speed gelding. Dam modest maiden hurdler (stayed 3m). Showed a bit without threatening when sixth of 19 in bumper at Punchestown (18.8f, heavy) on debut 7 months ago. May build on that now. HE CAN'T DANCE has missed a couple of engagements recently and this looks like a nice opportunity to make a winning start under Rules. The Jukebox Jury gelding cost 300,000 pounds after winning a point-to-point at Monksgrange in March and got a good mention in a recent stable tour of Gordon Elliott's yard. Coyote Spirit ran a nice race when sixth in a strong Punchestown bumper in early May and he could be the one to give the selection most to do. Jolie Folie, a half-sister to dual hurdle winner Major Barry, is a newcomer to note in the market.
Expensive point recruit HE CAN'T DANCE starts out under Rules in a bumper distinctly lacking depth and is fancied to prove tough to beat on debut for his leading yard. Jolie Folie makes appeal on paper for a yard no stranger to success with their runners in this sphere and she may emerge as the chief danger.
This lacks depth and it looks like a good opportunity for HE CAN'T DANCE, whose point form is already working out nicely

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SUNDIATA KEITA stepped up on his pleasing debut performance when a half-length third at Newcastle and, with further improvement on the cards, he rates the one to beat. Sun Keeper wasn't devoid of promise on her introduction over C&D and she could progress to take a hand in the finish here, while The Voominator also has a squeak for Craig Lidster and Jason Hart.
A repeat of the form SUNDIATA KEITA showed at Newcastle last time may be good enough for him to make it third time lucky. Sun Keeper is open to progress on the back of last month's C&D debut and is second choice ahead of Echo of Glory.
This looks a good opportunity for SUNDIATA KEITA, who sets a clear standard on his close third at Newcastle two weeks ago.

SOLDIERS STAR lost little in defeat when a short-head second over this trip at Newcastle three weeks ago and natural improvement could see him go one better. That said, Sunlit Uplands and Trouble Man also went desperately close to making winning debuts and they are obvious threats. Rye certainly isn't out of it either having progressed from her first to her second start.
SUNLIT UPLANDS caught the eye finishing with a flourish under just hands-and-heels riding on her Chelmsford debut and looks the way to go with improvement on the cards. Trouble Man and Soldiers Star are considered the main threats.
This can be narrowed down to three who went close on debut, with SUNLIT UPLANDS preferred to Soldiers Star and Trouble Man.

EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN showed a likeable attitude when making a winning debut over 1m at Newcastle last month and, with this longer trip unlikely to pose any problems, he is fancied to follow up under a penalty. Jiff's Army has placed on his last three starts over 7f and he warrants respect stepping up in distance, while Perfect Life could build on his encouraging introductory third at Southwell.
EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN made a winning start at Newcastle last month and with progress very much on the cards she can make light of a 7 lb penalty. Ollie Sangster's Kentucky River could emerge as the main danger if, as expected, building on his debut Chelmsford fifth, with Perfect Life and Arundel appealing as the pick of the remainder.
This can go to EDGE OFTHE UNKNOWN who got his career off to a good start at Newcastle and should have plenty more to offer.

Each-way claims again. Career back on track when second over 1m4f on turf latest; first AW start. |

Skye Breeze |
(5) (10/1 -150%)10/1(-150%) | (5) Skye Breeze 10/1, Back-to-back winner of AW handicaps (both at around 1½m) earlier this year. Far from disgraced next 2 starts and easy to forgive his midfield York run in May having been left poorly placed. All 4 career victories have come on synthetics and respected on return. Has a 4-9 Tapeta record and can go well if fully primed after seven months off. |

Illucidate |
(7) (20/1 +39%)20/1(+39%) | (7) Illucidate 20/1, Fair winner at 1½m on Flat in France last autumn. Yet to better modest form in handful of starts over hurdles for present stable, sixth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Southwell (15.8f) 11 days ago. Blinkers replace cheekpieces now returned to the level. Flat winner in France but only modest form over hurdles in Britain; others more obvious. |

(10) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (10) Chase The Dollar 50/1, Course winner. 33/1, sixth of 7 in handicap at this course (14f) 63 days ago. First run for yard after leaving David Loughnane and percentage call is to look elsewhere. Struggled lately and remains to be seen whether change of yard makes a difference. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
NO SURRENDER was narrowly denied over 1m2f at Lingfield last month and that form has a solid look to it. Nudged up 1lb now back over 1m4f, he gets the vote to atone for that near-miss. A 1lb rise for a recent second over this track and trip doesn't discount Something and he looks a danger to the selection. Four-time C&D winner Optician's mark has come down and his turn may not be far away.
NO SURRENDER highlighted he's capable of defying this sort of mark when finishing a head second over shorter at Lingfield 18 days ago and, worth another crack at this longer trip, he could be the way to go. Skye Breeze on return to action, Knockbrex and Something are others to consider.
The suggestion is sole 3yo SOMETHING, who has a record of 2112 in Tapeta handicaps around 1m4f. No Surrender is second choice.

ASGARD'S CAPTAIN did well to finish a close-up fourth after helping to set the pace over track and trip last month and, eased 1lb, he may prove tough to peg back if the cards fall right. Arcadian Nights bounced right back to form when only finding one rival too good over C&D in October and another bold bid looks likely. Last-start Southwell runner-up Lerwick is also noteworthy.
ASGARD'S CAPTAIN can boast an excellent AW record and having shaped nicely in a better C&D handicap than this 3 weeks ago, he looks primed for a big run. Lerwick also has plenty to recommend him, with Titian another to note given he's back on his last winning mark.
The vote goes to LERWICK on the back of his good first effort on AW last time. Asgard's Captain can give him most to do.

ALZAHIR bumped into an in-form sort when runner-up over a mile at Newcastle on his penultimate start, before being denied a clear run at a crucial stage when finishing down the field in a deeper race over this C&D most recently. Off an unchanged mark with his sights lowered, the son of Sea The Stars looks the one to be with. This step back up in trip could see Admiral D to better effect and he is respected off a falling mark, while He's A Gentleman is also a key player.
CHALK MOUNTAIN had been in top form prior to the trip stretching him at Southwell last time and, given his excellent course record, he's worth a chance to resume winning ways at the possible expense of Alzahir, who was unlucky not to finish much closer here recently. He's A Gentleman can't be ruled out.
Most of these have something to prove but ALZAHIR (nap) didn't get any luck over C&D last time and is a big player now back in grade.

CIOTOG has been reliable of late and, nudged up 1lb after a second-placed finish over C&D last month, he must have every chance of doubling his win tally on the all-weather on these terms. Visibility was fourth in that race and has a feasible chance of turning the form around with a 2lb pull at the weights. Love Your Work, a winner over track an trip a fortnight ago, also rates a key player off just 2lb higher. Bass Playern completes the shortlist.
Several of these know where the winning post is here, none more so than HARBOUR VISION, who is taken to complete a course hat-trick after a pair of 7f wins last month. Ciotog, Love Your Work and the quirky Bass Player head the dangers.
This looks competitive with several potential winners in the field. LOVE YOUR WORK is in top form and is marginally preferred.

(8) (8/1 -23%)8/1(-23%) | (8) Moe's Legacy 8/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 21 runs this year, the latest here in November. Last of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (5f, AW, 7/1) 16 days ago, slowly away. Has to be taken seriously. C&D win last month was followed by a tame Lingfield run; this should be run to suit. |

Pop Dancer |
(1) (10/1 +0%)10/1(+0%) | (1) Pop Dancer 10/1, C&D winner. Seventh of 10 in handicap (15/2) at Lingfield (5f, AW) 16 days ago. Blinkers on 1st time. Likely to come up short once more, unless the new headgear helps give him a lift. Caught wide last time and in good order beforehand; new headgear on now down in class. |

Gustav Graves |
(10) (10/1 +17%)10/1(+17%) | (10) Gustav Graves 10/1, Four-time C&D winner. 4 wins from 16 runs this year. However, he could finish only eighth of 10 in handicap (16/1) at Newcastle (5f) 30 days ago and he's not the easiest to predict. Conditions suit and slipped back down the weights; will need luck in running from stall 1. |

Papa Don't Preach |
(9) (10/1 -25%)10/1(-25%) | (9) Papa Don't Preach 10/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford in October. Only fifth of 6 in handicap (12/1) at the same course (5f) 30 days ago, left poorly placed. Blinkers back on and wouldn't be without each-way hope if on-song. Running well since blinkered this autumn but he will need to raise his game to take this. |

Arc Shadowfax |
(7) (12/1 +64%)12/1(+64%) | (7) Arc Shadowfax 12/1, Fifth of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f, 22/1) 19 days ago. Improvement will be needed if he's to emerge on top. Not made much of an impact in handicaps; back at 5f with new headgear tried. |

Zola Power |
(5) (14/1 +58%)14/1(+58%) | (5) Zola Power 14/1, C&D winner. First run since leaving Michael Appleby when last of 13 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 50/1) 72 days ago. Looks up against it. C&D win in Jan for M Appleby; no progress since; well held on stable debut; no accessories. |

American Fashion |
(4) (16/1 +52%)16/1(+52%) | (4) American Fashion 16/1, 20/1, first run since leaving John & Thady Gosden when eighth of 10 in handicap at this course (6.1f) 22 days ago, doing too much too soon. Hood on 1st time and she needs to raise her game. She's looked a weak finisher over a range of trips; hood added now down to Class 6. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Several have chances here but perhaps none more so than AGOSTINO, who has fared well with the draw and could make this a searching test of speed if he hits the gates running. Darlo Pride has been consistent during a busy spell over the last couple of months and the C&D winner should again make his presence felt. Alafdhal, Moe's Legacy and Wee Fat Mac also warrant close inspection in race where there is little margin for error.
The vote goes to MOE'S LEGACY, who was in good order prior to a below-par display at Lingfield last time and she appeals as the type to bounce back quickly. Alafdhal continues to knock on the door and he looks set for another bold show, while Darlo Pride and Wee Fat Mac are also worth a second look.
Pop Dancer is feared despite other front-runners in the field but this could set up for a finisher and MOE'S LEGACY gets the nod.

Come On John |
(12) (11/4 -22%)11/4(-22%) | (12) Come On John 11/4, C&D winner. Latest win at Southwell in October. 11/8, creditable third of 9 in handicap at this course (12.2f) 26 days ago, missing break. Back down in trip and he's shortlist material. 1m3f win in October and placed over 1m4f here latest; still well treated; strong claims. |

Solanna |
(2) (7/2 +0%)7/2(+0%) | (2) Solanna 7/2, Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. 3/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW) 16 days ago. Merits consideration. Beaten favourite the last twice but he's run OK; unplaced in three course starts though. |

Star Of St James |
(9) (8/1 +33%)8/1(+33%) | (9) Star Of St James 8/1, Latest win at Nottingham in August. Fourth of 10 in handicap (6/1) at Nottingham (10.2f, heavy) 38 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Not completely discounted. Made all to win two amateur races on turf this summer; well beaten on last four starts. |

Port Noir |
(11) (8/1 -7%)8/1(-7%) | (11) Port Noir 8/1, Six-time course winner. 3 wins from 26 runs this year. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (10/1) at this course (8.6f) 16 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Each-way shout. Conditions to suit and comes here in good order; should make another bold bid. |

The Pug |
(7) (8/1 +0%)8/1(+0%) | (7) The Pug 8/1, Unreliable type. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Southwell (11.1f, 16/5) 58 days ago. First run for yard after leaving Sylvester Kirk and others boast more compelling credentials. Starts out for new yard on dangerous mark; no headgear but still an interesting contender. |

Mykonos St John |
(6) (10/1 +29%)10/1(+29%) | (6) Mykonos St John 10/1, Course winner. 3 wins from 17 runs this year. Latest win here in October. Creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 12/1) 16 days ago. Opposable. Had excuses last time & no surprise to see him go well in his bid for a 4th win this year. |

First Dynasty |
(3) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (3) First Dynasty 12/1, 4/1, creditable fourth of 10 in handicap at this course (7.2f) 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip for this stable debut and likely to find one or two too good. 1m win in October and ran okay over 7f here last time; back up in trip; easy lead unlikely. |

Light Up Our Stars |
(4) (16/1 +20%)16/1(+20%) | (4) Light Up Our Stars 16/1, Course winner. Seventh of 8 in handicap (25/1) at this course (8.6f) 22 days ago. Others make more appeal. On a handy mark but patchy record since his Southwell win in July. |

Under Fox |
(1) (20/1 +20%)20/1(+20%) | (1) Under Fox 20/1, Last of 11 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to firm, 15/2). Off 18 months and it's reasonable to think that he'll come on for the run. Out of sorts when last seen and has a 557-day absence to overcome. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Celebrating Ethel |
(5) (20/1 -122%)20/1(-122%) | (5) Celebrating Ethel 20/1, One win from 21 Flat runs. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Lingfield (10f, AW, 22/1) 16 days ago. Enters calculations. 1m1f turf winner in Ireland last year; mixed bag for Tony Carroll and others look stronger. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hawa Jumeirah |
(10) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (10) Hawa Jumeirah 50/1, Hooded for 1st time, last of 8 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good, 40/1), slowly away. Off 154 days ahead of this tapeta debut and it's probably best to look elsewhere. Poor form since handicapping; gelded since latest run but not easily recommended. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Stepping up in trip seems to have been the making of PORT NOIR and, having landed a brace of wins here (one over this trip) in October, Robert Stephens' revitalised mare is an appealing option in her bid to cement her reputation as a course specialist. C&D winner Come On John is noteworthy back over this trip and needs taking seriously from a dangerously competitive rating. Solanna and Star Of St James are others to note in the betting.
COME ON JOHN hasn't done much wrong in three starts since joining the James Owen yard and, with the promise of even better to come, he gets the nod. Solanna and Port Noir should both be on the premises, along with Star of St James.
The Pug is interesting on his stable debut but COME ON JOHN is still well treated and can gain a second win for his new yard.
