1st (5) (7/2 -27%) Thapa Vc |
7/2(-27%) | (5) Thapa Vc 7/2, Former C&D scorer who resumed winning ways with a bit to spare at Southwell (7f) 9 days ago. A 3 lb rise may not stop him. Good strike-rate on AW and won cosily at Southwell nine days ago; in the mix up 3lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (14/1 -87%) Desert Doctor |
14/1(-87%) | (2) Desert Doctor 14/1, Course winner. Latest win at Salisbury in September. Eighth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 17/2) 51 days ago. Tom Marquand up but others are still preferred. Should be well treated on AW now but he needs to leave a quiet run at Newcastle behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/2 +0%) Dayman |
9/2(+0%) | (4) Dayman 9/2, Third of 11 in handicap at Kempton (7f, 33/1) 18 days ago, nearest finish. Won off a higher mark last year. Considered. Eye-catching 3rd at Kempton last time; up 2lb but still looks well treated; interesting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 -29%) Arctician |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Arctician 9/2, C&D winner. 5/1, creditable second of 10 in C&D handicap 18 days ago. Should be thereabouts again. C&D win in March; good 2nd here last time and no obvious reason he wouldn't go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (5/1 +55%) Abbey's Dream |
5/1(+55%) | (6) Abbey's Dream 5/1, Three wins from 13 runs this year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in September. Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (7f) 23 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Can play a part under Hollie Doyle. 7f win at Wolverhampton in September; some good runs since but others look better treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (7/2 +61%) Chola Empire |
7/2(+61%) | (3) Chola Empire 7/2, Respectable eighth of 13 in handicap (7/1) at Newcastle (7f), unable to sustain effort. Off 122 days. Hood back on. On a workable mark if primed after his short break. On a handy mark and the return of a hood could help; each-way claims at least. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (10/1 +0%) Starsong |
10/1(+0%) | (7) Starsong 10/1, 7/2, respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at Chelmsford (6f) 10 days ago. Capable of being very competitive from her mark. On a fair mark but all wins at 6f and her stamina for 7f still isn't conclusively proven. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (22/1 -38%) A Pint Of Bear |
22/1(-38%) | (9) A Pint Of Bear 22/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2021. Eighth of 9 in handicap (28/1) at Wolverhampton (7f) 12 days ago. Probably best to look elsewhere. Threatening over sprint trips but too free upped to 7f last time; others look safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (66/1 -371%) Fly The Nest |
66/1(-371%) | (8) Fly The Nest 66/1, Three wins earlier in year, including twice over C&D. Off 9 months, well held here 5 weeks ago. Needs to leave that well behind. Three wins (two over C&D) in February/March; well held back from a break last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Fresh from her exploits riding in Japan, Hollie Doyle can sound a timely reminder of her worth in the saddle as she is reunited with ABBEY'S DREAM (second), who appeals strongly based on recent form. The selection had plenty in hand over Thapa VC (seventh) when they encountered each other at Wolverhampton last month and has a live chance of cementing the form, despite her old rival's return to form with a cosy win off 3lb lower at Southwell nine days ago. Arctician is another to consider.
If THAPA VC is in the same form as at Southwell just before Christmas a 3 lb rise may not prevent him going in again. Dayman took a step back in the right direction at Kempton last time and is second choice ahead of Abbey's Dream.
This looks likely to be run at a solid pace and Thapa VC and DAYMAN (nap) should be arriving on the scene late.

1st (5) (9/4 +18%) Monty's Star |
9/4(+18%) | (5) Monty's Star 9/4, Lightly-raced but useful winner over hurdles made an encouraging start over fences when third of 13 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.5f, soft) on debut over fences 29 days ago. Evenly matched with Three Card Brag on that effort and he should have more to offer. Bit to find with Three Card Brag on Fairyhouse debut run but longer trip to suit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (4/11 +37%) Three Card Brag |
4/11(+37%) | (6) Three Card Brag 4/11, Useful hurdler boasts the physique for chasing and showed plenty to like when second of 13 in novice chase at Fairyhouse (21.5f, soft) on debut over fences 29 days ago. The one to beat. Debut second at Fairyhouse marks him out as the one to beat if staying 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (25/1 -285%) Klarc Kent |
25/1(-285%) | (4) Klarc Kent 25/1, Lightly-raced winner under NH rules. Fairly useful winner at 19f in bumpers but well beaten both starts over hurdles last year. Something to prove sent chasing after 11 months off. Absent nearly a year since poor maiden hurdle runs; hard to assess now switched to fences. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (50/1 -400%) Fakiera |
50/1(-400%) | (2) Fakiera 50/1, Fair chaser. Fifteen runs since last win in 2020. 18/1, first run since leaving Gordon Elliott when bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap chase at Navan (20.4f, heavy) 22 days ago, inadequate test. More exposed than most and is difficult to fancy. Good runs in staying handicaps last season for Gordon Elliott but comeback run below best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (200/1 +0%) Hunt Museum |
200/1(+0%) | (3) Hunt Museum 200/1, Modest hurdler. 250/1, fifth of 6 in novice chase at this course (23.7f, heavy) 19 days ago. Impossible to make a case for. Two runs over fences suggest he'll need more time and handicaps. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
THREE CARD BRAG (second) had Monty's Star (third) behind at Fairyhouse earlier in the month, when he was only denied by just under a length at the line and he tended to jump to the left at times. Therefore, the switch to this left-handed track could aid his cause and, with the likelihood of plenty more to come on his second chase start, he could prove very difficult to beat. The latter is expected to prove the main threat once more and he isn't taken lightly, while Digby has pleased in both chase efforts so far and can fight it out for the minor honours.
THREE CARD BRAG finished just ahead of Monty's Star in a red-hot Fairyhouse event earlier this month and Gordon Elliott's gelding gets the nod to confirm placings with his similarly exciting rival. Digby has also made an encouraging start over fences and rates as the clear third pick.
An intriguing rematch between THREE CARD BRAG and Montys Star, the former taken to confirm the form

1st (3) (6/5 +20%) Rockstar Icon |
6/5(+20%) | (3) Rockstar Icon 6/5, Twice-raced maiden. Second of 8 in novice at Haydock (7f, good to firm, 13/2) in June. Not seen since but major player if resuming in similar form. Widest stall shouldn't be as big an issue in a race like this as it would be in a handicap. Haydock 2nd in June sets the standard; gelded since; drawn wide but still has more to come. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (9/2 -13%) Different Breed |
9/2(-13%) | (1) Different Breed 9/2, Fair maiden. 50/1, very good third of 7 in nursery at Wolverhampton (7f) 13 days ago, having run of race. Placed on last 3 starts, most recently in a 7f nursery; one of the leading form contenders. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (18/1 -13%) Wild Saffron |
18/1(-13%) | (10) Wild Saffron 18/1, 11/1, seventh of 8 in maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) on debut 43 days ago. Needs to have come on a lot for the run. Slowly away and never seriously involved on debut last month; bred to do better in time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (10/1 -100%) Pretence |
10/1(-100%) | (9) Pretence 10/1, Fair performer. Won 7f seller at Chester in June. Below form in nursery (25/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 44 days ago but in the mix if back to her best under Tom Marquand. Won a Chester seller in June; limitations look well established though & others are safer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (6/1 +25%) Snooker McCrew |
6/1(+25%) | (7) Snooker McCrew 6/1, Twice-raced maiden. Stepped up on debut when fourth of 10 in 1m novice here 11 days ago. Will need more again to go close. Promise in two 1m runs here; not sure to appreciate today's drop in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (25/1 +0%) Electrified |
25/1(+0%) | (6) Electrified 25/1, More one for handicaps judged on his 2 efforts to date. Down the field in two 7f runs since September; of more interest once handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (28/1 +30%) Running Deal |
28/1(+30%) | (4) Running Deal 28/1, Well held in 2 runs at Kempton. Outsider. Huge prices and just modest form in two 7f runs at Kempton this winter. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (12) (125/1 -400%) They |
125/1(-400%) | (12) They 125/1, Well held in 2 starts at Chelmsford. More one for handicaps. Well beaten in 7f/6f events at Chelmsford this winter; handicaps more suitable in time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (4/1 +0%) Rey De La Batalla |
4/1(+0%) | (2) Rey De La Batalla 4/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Off 5 months, improved when fourth of 14 in novice at Kempton (7f) 18 days ago. Thereabouts. Promise here on debut (6f); improved effort when 4th at Kempton latest; should be involved. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (150/1 -127%) Clancy |
150/1(-127%) | (5) Clancy 150/1, Has failed to beat a rival in 2 outings at Kempton. Big prices and yet to beat a rival in two runs at Kempton (6f/7f); not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (125/1 -150%) Ashford Hill |
125/1(-150%) | (11) Ashford Hill 125/1, 2,000 gns Massaat filly. Half-sister to 6f winner Stanley Snugfit. Dam 5f/6f winner. Probably best watched on debut. Just minor appeal on pedigree and not an obvious winner on debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ROCKSTAR ICON made a now 85-rated rival pull out all the stops at Haydock when he was last seen in June and is worth chancing on his return to action. Now gelded, the son of Sixties Icon is hardly overfaced for his all-weather debut and, with David Probert booked to do the steering, everything is in place for a nice confidence booster ahead of future opportunities when he switches to handicaps. Different Breed and Rey De La Batalla are a couple of others to monitor in the betting, too.
If ROCKSTAR ICON returns from a break in the same sort of form as when second at Haydock in June he looks sure to make a bold bid. Rey de La Batalla and Different Breed are others likely to have a say.
Divine Breath needs a market check on debut but ROCKSTAR ICON may be able to make a winning return despite the widest stall.

Call Me Arthur |
(5) (5/2 -11%)5/2(-11%) | (5) Call Me Arthur 5/2, Didn't offer a great deal in 5 starts at around 2m but much more like it when second in 15-runner Exeter handicap (21.6f) in November, staying on well and just failing. One to be interested in on that evidence. Much-improved form when close second of 15 last month; can progress again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pollyonesock |
(6) (8/1 +20%)8/1(+20%) | (6) Pollyonesock 8/1, Stepped up on what she showed in bumpers when third of 10 on first completed start over hurdles at Stratford (16.3f, soft) in April. Hasn't gone without promise both starts beyond 2m since, latterly when fifth in an Aintree novice (20f) in November. Likely capable of better now handicapping. Placed in run-of-the-mill mares' maiden in April but yet to build on that performance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Ingennio |
(4) (9/2 -29%)9/2(-29%) | (4) Ingennio 9/2, Remains a maiden following 10 attempts over hurdles but he again ran well when second at Newcastle (16.8f) 17 days ago, every chance approaching last and keeping on. Effective at this longer trip and he's one to bear in mind. 0-10 over hurdles but ran big race in defeat on heavy ground this month; shortlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I Got Stung |
(1) (13/2 -18%)13/2(-18%) | (1) I Got Stung 13/2, Shaped like a stayer when finishing midfield only start in bumpers and offered more than previously over hurdles when fourth on qualifying run at Ludlow (15.7f) in October. Yard know this family well and likely there's more to come now handicapping up in trip. Encouraging fourth in 2m novice in October; should have improvement to come in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bitsnbuckles |
(3) (13/2 -8%)13/2(-8%) | (3) Bitsnbuckles 13/2, Looks to have been brought along with handicaps in mind, not knocked about turned out quickly at Market Rasen 6 weeks ago. This longer trip will suit and interesting if the market speaks in his favour. Displayed promise in 2m novice hurdles and ought to be suited by this stiffer test. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Robber's Bridge |
(11) (15/2 -7%)15/2(-7%) | (11) Robber's Bridge 15/2, Has made more impact since sent handicapping this year and not discredited when third at Wincanton (19.8f) 38 days ago, the step back up in trip looking in his favour. Each-way claims from same mark. Sound effort when placed at Wincanton last month but now 0-13 over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Clongowes |
(7) (18/1 -80%)18/1(-80%) | (7) Clongowes 18/1, Flat winner who remains a maiden in this sphere but showed some promise starting out for new yard when fifth of 8 in handicap hurdle at Lingfield (2m) last month. Eased further 4 lb ahead of this if he can build on that. Unlucky not to win off today's mark in May and ran okay on recent stable debut; a possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Amalfi Skyline |
(9) (22/1 -10%)22/1(-10%) | (9) Amalfi Skyline 22/1, No impact in 4 starts over hurdles, latterly on handicap debut back in June and returns to this sphere following a considerate introduction to chasing at Ludlow 25 days ago. Best watched. Pulled up on handicap hurdle debut in June but ran okay in a chase this month. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Getaway With You |
(12) (22/1 +12%)22/1(+12%) | (12) Getaway With You 22/1, Maiden who was again sent off at long odds but managed to better previous exploits when fourth of 13 in novices' handicap at Lingfield (19.5f) in November. However, more needed if he's to play a part here. Ran well for a long way when fourth at Lingfield but is effectively 4lb higher here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
James Baie |
(10) (25/1 +75%)25/1(+75%) | (10) James Baie 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules who hasn't offered a great deal in trio of hurdle outings in recent months. Needs to show much more now handicapping. Well beaten at huge odds in three 2m novice/maiden hurdles this autumn; handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Commodore Miller |
(2) (25/1 +0%)25/1(+0%) | (2) Commodore Miller 25/1, Fair form at his best for Nicky Henderson and was in the process of running well when departing 2 out in a Huntingdon handicap on first start for this yard in January. However, didn't jump well when down the field on his return at this venue in November. Struggled to get competitive here last month and has much more to prove than some. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Passengerontheship |
(8) (25/1 +0%)25/1(+0%) | (8) Passengerontheship 25/1, Placed in an Irish point, but low-key start in trio of quick-fire maiden/novice hurdle runs in recent months. Handicaps will be more his bag now at least. Always in rear division in three maiden/novice hurdles; improvement possible in handicaps. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Call Me Sainte |
(13) (25/1 +50%)25/1(+50%) | (13) Call Me Sainte 25/1, Little form in a bumper/over hurdles to date and she's best watched operating from out of the weights. Unplaced all eight hurdling starts and 10lb out of the weights today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having shown little in a handful of 2m starts, the money arrived for CALL ME ARTHUR over 2m5f at Exeter last month and he was only narrowly thwarted by Harry Fry's well-treated Danton. Tom Lacey's four-year-old is evidently thought capable of better and, though he's been raised 3lb, he could easily be ahead of the handicapper if handling this testing surface. Ingennio was only just denied when second in the mud at Newcastle last time and should again go well, while Olly Murphy's Bitsnbuckles is interesting over a longer trip on his handicap debut considering he once went close in a 3m point-to-point.
CALL ME ARTHUR showed much more than previously when just touched off by a fellow improver at Exeter 5 weeks ago, and with the prospect of more to come, he gets the nod to go one place better now. I Got Stung, Ingennio and Bitsnbuckles are others to consider.
Today's stiffer stamina test might unlock significant improvement from handicap debutant I GOT STUNG, who gets the nod.

Classic Maestro |
(1) (4/6 -8%)4/6(-8%) | (1) Classic Maestro 4/6, Fair form when runner-up on last 3 starts over hurdles, the latest in a heavy-ground 2¾m course handicap 9 days ago. This looks a very good opening. Has solid form under rules and is knocking at the door; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Mayheblucky |
(4) (6/1 +20%)6/1(+20%) | (4) Mayheblucky 6/1, Made the frame on all 3 starts in Irish points but the latest of them was in December 2021 so he's presumably had a few issues. Betting the best guide to expectations now hurdling. Irish point form (in 2021) has some substance; interesting rules debutant. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Saint Bibiana |
(7) (7/2 -17%)7/2(-17%) | (7) Saint Bibiana 7/2, Won the bumper on this card (heavy ground) for Kim Bailey a year ago. Faded from the second last when fifth on her 2½m course hurdle debut/reappearance for new trainer Georgina Nicholls but should be sharper now. Looks the chief threat to Classic Maestro. Won the bumper on this card last year for previous yard; possibilities. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Free The Lion |
(2) (9/1 -13%)9/1(-13%) | (2) Free The Lion 9/1, Closely related to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Bavington Bob (19f-3m winner). Maiden Irish pointer, made frame last time (Nov 26). Worth a betting check on hurdle debut for John Butler. 0-6 in Irish points but he's bred to do better still; rules debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jalisco Star |
(6) (22/1 -38%)22/1(-38%) | (6) Jalisco Star 22/1, Placed both starts in Irish points but comfortably held in 2 bumpers for Thomas Gallagher in the spring and suffered a similar fate on Fontwell hurdle debut for Laura Horsfall. Rules form is unconvincing; tongue-tie enlisted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Nippin N Poppin |
(5) (40/1 +60%)40/1(+60%) | (5) Nippin N Poppin 40/1, 50/1, seventh of 8 in bumper at Worcester (2m, soft) on debut in September 2022. Off since. Absent since showing little in bumper 15 months ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Legostar |
(3) (100/1 +0%)100/1(+0%) | (3) Legostar 100/1, Fourth on the second of 3 starts in Irish bumpers in 2021. Won a point since but always behind on 19.5f Doncaster hurdle debut 16 days ago. Up in trip. Beaten long way at Doncaster this month back under rules. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
CLASSIC MAESTRO has been rattling the crossbar of late and he looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to shed his maiden tag. Saint Bibiana is entitled to build on her hurdles debut when fifth over 2m4f at this venue, with this emphasis on stamina expected to see her in a better light. She is feared most ahead of Rules debutant Free The Lion, who hasn't been disgraced between the flags.
This looks an excellent opportunity for CLASSIC MAESTRO to end his run of seconds. Course bumper scorer Saint Bibiana is the obvious danger.
The clear pick on hurdles form, CLASSIC MAESTRO looks poised to gain reward for his consistency. Saint Bibiana is feared most.

Silver King |
(5) (3/1 +67%)3/1(+67%) | (5) Silver King 3/1, Never dangerous when fifth of 14 in maiden chase (20/1) at Cork (21f, soft) 35 days ago, still having plenty to do 4 out. Hood reapplied and he could be capable of better making his handicap debut. Hasn't looked a natural so far chasing; much more needed to feature here on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Clonmeen |
(2) (4/1 -60%)4/1(-60%) | (2) Clonmeen 4/1, Opened account under Rules when scoring in 14-runner handicap chase at Down Royal (24f, soft, 10/1) 50 days ago, staying on to lead final 100 yds. Can give another good account returned to this longer trip. Down Royal win looks solid form; 9lb higher now so more needed but possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chosen Diamond |
(6) (7/2 +0%)7/2(+0%) | (6) Chosen Diamond 7/2, Made a winning chase debut at Naas in November and was still going well in third when unseating rider 4 out in handicap at Clonmel (17.9f, heavy, 7/2) 24 days ago. Remains with potential over fences. Impressive Naas debut winner then unseated at Clonmel; likely still has more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Where It All Began |
(1) (8/1 -33%)8/1(-33%) | (1) Where It All Began 8/1, After 7 months off, possibly needed the run when fifth of 9 in handicap chase (18/1) at Fairyhouse (21.5f, soft) 29 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time and could yet do better on only his third handicap start. Let down by jumping so far in handicaps; cheekpieces now tried. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tucson Train |
(4) (11/1 +8%)11/1(+8%) | (4) Tucson Train 11/1, Fairly useful winner at 20f over hurdles. Failed to improve from chasing debut when seventh of 11 in maiden at Kilbeggan (19f, soft, 10/1) 170 days ago. Back up in trip as he goes handicapping. Ordinary efforts in beginners' chase over the summer and best watched on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kings Halo |
(7) (11/4 -46%)11/4(-46%) | (7) Kings Halo 11/4, Built on promise of previous run when winning 12-runner handicap chase at Tramore (21.4f, soft, 5/2) 33 days ago, responding well. Can follow up with more still to offer over this longer trip. Tramore winner's 8lb rise plenty but still respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Big Galloper |
(3) (28/1 -100%)28/1(-100%) | (3) The Big Galloper 28/1, Back over fences, failed to come on for reappearance when well-beaten tenth of 11 in handicap at Cork (21f, soft, 25/1) 35 days ago. Mark has fallen further a result but he remains a maiden in this sphere. Tailed off at Cork; no obvious claims but yard back among the winners during the week. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
KINGS HALO gained compensation for his narrow defeat at Clonmel in early November when landing the spoils at Tramore later that month. The eight-year-old may be able to unlock enough improvement from this step up in distance over 3m to negate an 8lb rise in the ratings. Fellow last-time-out scorer Clonmeen is feared most, despite a 9lb hike in the handicap seeming a tad excessive, while Chosen Diamond likely has more to offer in this sphere too.
KINGS HALO has shown improved form over fences this season, opening his chase account at Tramore on his latest outing, and he can score again with the step up in trip likely to suit. Chosen Diamond is worth another chance to build on his successful chase debut and could be the main danger, while Clonmeen also merits consideration.
Not that strong a contest and perhaps CLONMEEN can follow up a recent Down Royal win over the trip

Chagall (winner) and STAR OF EPSOM (second) are closely matched based on their encounter over 1m2f here last month and, while the former commands respect, the latter looks worth chancing in his bid to turn the form around. Doing his best work near the finish in that aforementioned race, the selection may be the better equipped of the two to cope with this longer trip and has won here since. Last-time-out winners Lost In Time and Angel On High complete the shortlist.
Plenty are in with a shout. CHAGALL has enjoyed a good 2023 and with the form of his recent course victory having been franked he is taken to bag a fourth success of the year. Stylish C&D scorer Lost In Time heads the list of dangers, although course-winner Mirabello Bay and in-form trio Star of Epsom, Come On John and Handel all need factoring in too.
Preference is for PLATINUM PRINCE, who goes well when fresh, is back on a winning mark and handles this track.

(1) (5/4 +9%)5/4(+9%) | (1) Don't Rightly Know 5/4, Defied a long absence when readily gettting off the mark in novice at Exeter (23.1f) in November. Ran at least as well when collared on the line at Wincanton (21.4f, heavy) 19 days ago, so she looks to hold leading claims. Returned from long layoff with 16l win last month and ran well on heavy ground since. |

Quite The Getaway |

Showed only minor promise on last month's rules debut at Hereford (2m3f, good). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Venetia Williams' Ottoline is likely to be a warm order following an emphatic win in gruelling conditions at Uttoxeter last week but she has to shoulder a 7lb penalty, as does Don't Rightly Know, who was touched off in a hard race at Wincanton last time having defied a long absence to win well over 2m7f at Exeter last month. Both should be firmly in the mix but may be worth taking on with hurdling debutant ONEANDAHALFDEGREES, who has shaped with encouragement in two decent bumpers and she's bred to appreciate this much increased stamina test.
DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW opened her account in good style at Exeter in November and backed up that effort when second at Wincanton 19 days ago, so she is taken to resume winning ways as she makes only her fifth start under Rules. The 8-y-o can see off the challenge of recent winner Ottoline, while Oneandahalfdegrees is one to note on her hurdling debut.
The pick is DON'T RIGHTLY KNOW, who backed up her wide-margin Exeter win with a good effort in defeat on heavy ground at Wincanton.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Although keen, West Warhorse appeared to appreciate the step up in trip when opening his account over 2m4f at Fakenham recently. A return to 2m in this contest may leave him vulnerable, with fellow last-time-out scorer LET'S GO JOE edging the vote. The gelded son of Cannock Chase won a shade cosily at Sedgefield last month and displayed enough speed that day to suggest he can cope with this drop in distance. Grand Albert and Chatshow Tv also warrant consideration.
LET'S GO JOE has to shoulder a 7 lb penalty for his Sedgefield success but still looks the way to go with improvement very much on the cards. Chatshow TV could emerge as the chief threat if shrugging off a lesser showing here last time out, although Fakenham-scorer West Warhorse and newcomer Grand Albert could both also have a say.
Six-figure purchase GRAND ALBERT is taken to build on his Bangor bumper effort. West Warhorse is second choice.

The Gordon Elliott-trained pair, Hey Whatever and Roboreti, are both potential improvers, with the former rated as the more attractive proposition given she has the advantage of a 7lb sex allowance. However, there are some speedy types form the Flat in opposition, with none appealing more than STORM HEART, who ran away with a 1m4f maiden on her last start in France. Now under the tutelage of Willie Mullins, another bold showing is expected on his hurdling bow. Jeaniemacaroney and Eagles Reign are others to consider.
STORM HEART displayed fairly useful form when making his final start on the Flat in France a winning one back in March and he very much appeals as the type to make an immediate impact now going hurdling for his top NH yard. Eagles Reign and Jeaniemacaroney head the dangers, with Hey Whatever also in the mix.
The hurdling experience gained by HEY WHATEVER at Fairyhouse may be crucial, with French Flat winner Storm Heart an obvious danger

Tyrrhenian Sea, runner-up in the Group 3 Winter Derby over C&D earlier in the year, boasts obvious claims after again going close in a Listed race here last month, but his losing run has now stretched to 10 and BASE NOTE may have his measure. The Crisford-trained four-year-old notched a fifth all-weather win on his return from a break at Chelmsford last month and suggested he was still on the upgrade when third over 1m4f in Listed company at Kempton earlier in the month (Blanchard behind in fourth). Back over 1m2f and on a track which has yielded two wins from three attempts, he should take some stopping.
BASE NOTE and Tyrrhenian Sea are closely matched on form but the former is more consistent and, from a good draw, he gets the marginal vote. Blanchland is another player and Makinmedoit has a good record at the track, so she can't be dismissed.
The flashy Tyrrhenian Sea looks set to go well again but he may have to give best to BASE NOTE.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
This looks a good opportunity for bumper winner HAURAKI GULF to deservedly break his duck over hurdles following five second-placed efforts. The eight-year-old was pitched into a deep handicap at Cheltenham on his reappearance and was in the process of running an encouraging race until being hampered by a faller two out. He should strip fitter with that blow-out under his belt and looks capable of winning off his present mark, although Grove Road will relish this stamina test back over hurdles after fluffing his lines on his chasing bow. Little Else only narrowly failed to land a hat-trick at Exeter last time and should again make her presence felt, despite another 2lb rise.
The obvious one here is LITTLE ELSE who can make it 3 wins in her last 4 starts. If a view is taken that Grove Road simply failed to take to chasing last time he's the danger as his reappearance third over hurdles at Ffos Las was creditable.
Easily excused his low-key reappearance run in a big field at Cheltenham last month, HAURAKI GULF can enhance his good record here.

Respectable fourth of 6 at Chepstow (3m, heavy) since. Successful at Warwick two starts ago and that form has substance; still of interest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Benassi |
(2) (5/2 +25%)5/2(+25%) | (2) Benassi 5/2, Irish point recruit who had a good first season over hurdles, winning 2 of his 4 starts, including on handicap debut at Ffos Las (2m) in April. Failed to fire in the Silver Trophy on his Chepstow reappearance but back on track when second to a well-treated sort at Lingfield (19.5f, good to soft). Solid second, behind a rival who was on middle leg of hat-trick, at Lingfield last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Bear Ghylls |
(1) (5/2 +62%)5/2(+62%) | (1) Bear Ghylls 5/2, Had a fine season as a novice hurdler in 2020/21, winning 3 times. Exploits mixed over fences/hurdles following a lengthy absence last term but he is back on a good mark if wind surgery ahead of this reappearance helps to spark a revival. Interesting to see how he goes in the betting. Fourth in the 2021 Ballymore; interesting off this reduced mark dropped in grade. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Crem Fresh |
(6) (6/1 -167%)6/1(-167%) | (6) Crem Fresh 6/1, Hasn't stood much racing to date but returned from a break to make all over 2½m at Fakenham in November. Only denied at Leicester (2m) a week later but pulled up back at Fakenham 12 days ago. Bounce back needed. Disappointing last week; in great form otherwise this term and may well bounce back. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Sizing Pottsie |
(4) (11/2 -22%)11/2(-22%) | (4) Sizing Pottsie 11/2, Smart chaser for Jessica Harrington in 2021/22 and, on his first run after a wind op, showed more than previously for this yard when second in 2m course handicap (heavy) in November. Failed to back it up at Wincanton since, though. Something to prove back up in distance, having done all his winning at about 2m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Fricotin |
(5) (18/1 -29%)18/1(-29%) | (5) Fricotin 18/1, A fairly useful hurdles/chase winner for Francois Nicolle in 2022 but no show in a handicap chase/hurdle for new yard this winter. Too soon to write off but has something to prove for now. Ex-French; has shown no promise in two starts for new stable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
BEAR GHYLLS shaped better than the beaten distance suggests when 16th in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He was quickly given a wind procedure after that performance and could be worth chancing on his reappearance off a 4lb lower mark. Benassi found only a subsequent winner too strong at Lingfield last month and he's likely to give another good account of himself, while Sizing Pottsie is noted too.
BENASSI bumped into one at Lingfield last time and is taken to go one better now. Bear Ghylls has been cut some slack by the handicapper and is a potentially dangerous opponent if ready to roll on his return from wind surgery.
Class-dropper BEAR GHYLLS could well record a first success since his useful novice campaign. Benassi is second choice.

Ashdale Bob |
(2) (4/1 +11%)4/1(+11%) | (2) Ashdale Bob 4/1, Smart hurdler. Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. 35/10, 13½ lengths fifth of 8 to La Cheneviere in Group 2 Prix La Barka at Auteuil (21.4f, soft). Off 6 months. This a drop in class and should make a bold bid under Jack Kennedy. Losing sequence stretches back to April 2021, below best since Grade 1 second a year ago. |

Sir Gerhard |
(5) (10/11 -10%)10/11(-10%) | (5) Sir Gerhard 10/11, Leading novice hurdler of 2021/22 campaign and a smart novice chaser last term. Closing in second when falling heavily 2 out in Naas Grade 3 chase on reappearance. The one to beat back hurdling assuming he's over that nasty experience. Jumping issues over fences, running well when falling at Naas, interesting back hurdling. |

Aspire Tower |
(3) (11/1 -100%)11/1(-100%) | (3) Aspire Tower 11/1, Useful hurdler. Course winner. 6/1, third of 10 in novice chase at Thurles (18.4f, good to soft) on debut over fences 31 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Returned in October after a very long absence; chase run a month ago was quite encouraging. |

Vanillier |
(7) (20/1 +39%)20/1(+39%) | (7) Vanillier 20/1, Smart chaser (second in Grand National in April) . 22¾ lengths fifth of 6 to El Fabiolo in Hilly Way Chase (50/1) at Cork (16.7f, heavy) on reappearance 21 days ago, inadequate test. Switches from chase to hurdles. Others more persuasive. 2021 Albert Bartlett winner, last season's Grand National runner-up, trip looks inadequate. |

Andy Dufresne |
(1) (25/1 -79%)25/1(-79%) | (1) Andy Dufresne 25/1, Course winner. 11/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time, 37¼ lengths last of 5 to Bob Olinger in Lismullen Hurdle at Navan (20f, heavy) 43 days ago. Visored for 1st time. Over three years since his last win, not a bad run here in October, struggled last time. |

Jeff Kidder |
(4) (33/1 +0%)33/1(+0%) | (4) Jeff Kidder 33/1, Useful hurdler. Course winner. 33/1, creditable seventh of 19 in handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, soft) 28 days ago. Has a bit to find with a couple of these. Former top-class juvenile hurdler, no success in the senior ranks, others preferred. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
All eyes will be on former Champion Bumper/Ballymore Hurdle winner SIR GERHARD as he returns to timber following an underwhelming stint over fences, which included a fall at Naas on his seasonal return last month. That said, he travelled well until departing at the second-last fence that day and he could take some stopping in this company back in his favoured discipline. Thedevilscoachman also reverts to the smaller obstacles after a more productive spell chasing and will relish this testing ground, while there's a good chance that former Grade 2 winner Aspire Tower will step things up on his third run back from a long absence.
Willie Mullins has dominated this race in recent years and SIR GERHARD, a dual Grade 1 novice hurdle winner in spring 2022, can make a successful return to hurdles assuming he's none the worse for his heavy fall over fences at Naas last month. Ashdale Bob is really smart on his day and can give the selection most to do under Jack Kennedy.
Jessica Harrington's ASHDALE BOB is a specialist hurdler who could be hard to beat if fully primed for his first run after a break.

Clipsham La Habana |
(5) (10/3 +39%)10/3(+39%) | (5) Clipsham La Habana 10/3, Dual 6f winner on AW last winter who arrives here on the back of a creditable second of 11 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 22 days ago. Consistency essentially hard to knock and he's certainly not out of things. Ended 2022 with two AW wins; solid second at Newcastle latest; in the mix once again. |

Society Lion |
(6) (10/1 -54%)10/1(-54%) | (6) Society Lion 10/1, Latest win at Windsor (6f) in July. Not scaled same heights subsequently, albeit never involved coming wide in the straight when seventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f, 14/1) 15 days ago. Mark is steadily easing at least. Two 6f turf wins this year; needs to better recent midfield effort at Wolverhampton. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Twilight Madness |
(7) (11/1 +8%)11/1(+8%) | (7) Twilight Madness 11/1, Rattled off a quick-fire AW hat-trick (all at 5f) last winter. Mixed bag on recent starts, fading out of things when seventh of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f) 9 days ago. However, he's lurking on a handy mark if bouncing back returned to this longer trip. Went close over 5f last month but failed to back it up nine days ago; opposable back at 6f. |

Magnificence |
(3) (11/1 -47%)11/1(-47%) | (3) Magnificence 11/1, Latest win at Bath in August. 20/1, good third of 10 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 18 days ago, every chance entering final 1f and staying on. Should give another good account. Ran right up to her best when 3rd at Kempton latest, hanging left late on; contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Count Otto |
(1) (13/2 +41%)13/2(+41%) | (1) Count Otto 13/2, 6-time C&D winner. 3 wins from 13 runs this year. Creditable fourth of 11 in C&D handicap 18 days ago, pushed along home turn and plugging on. Others appeal more for win purposes on this occasion. Multiple C&D winner; eased in grade today but drawn widest; others appeal more. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pop Star |
(4) (17/2 +29%)17/2(+29%) | (4) Pop Star 17/2, Winner at Navan in August. 9/2, respectable fourth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 9 days ago. Return to 6f rates a plus on that evidence and first-time cheekpieces could well have positive effect now. Two fair 5f runs for new yard; return to 6f/new headgear could give him a lift. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Harb |
(10) (18/1 +10%)18/1(+10%) | (10) Harb 18/1, Course winner. Latest win at Sandown in September. 9/1, seventh of 9 in handicap at this course (5f, AW) 36 days ago, merely closing up late. Could be sharper here given that was his first start for 2 months. On a dangerous mark; never threatened over 5f last time; betting should be revealing. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Dream By Day |
(11) (80/1 -100%)80/1(-100%) | (11) Dream By Day 80/1, Latest win at Goodwood in August. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (5f, 33/1) 37 days ago. Back up in trip. Visor on 1st time. Has work to do. Yet to fire for current stable and today's change of headgear isn't enough to tempt. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
An open-looking contest but any value may lie with former Aidan O'Brien inmate POP STAR, who has shaped with mild encouragement in two 5f runs for Alice Haynes following wind surgery. The combination of first-time cheekpieces and a step up to 6f could see him in a better light and, if that is the case, a mark of 79 looks exploitable. Star Of Lady M finished just in front of the selection last time and remains one to be interested in along with Clipsham La Habana, who returned to form with a fine second at Newcastle last time. Seven-time course winner Count Otto is always dangerous to dismiss here but a wide draw tempers enthusiasm.
BUCCABAY needs to shrug off a lesser effort at Chelmsford in November yet his previous form, including on the all-weather, looks solid and he could just be worth siding with from what rates a workable mark. Clipsham La Habana, Star of Lady M and Razzam head the dangers, whilst Twilight Madness isn't one to give up on either.
Star Of Lady M can go well back at Lingfield but the return to a left-handed track could see MAGNIFICENCE win again.

Lunar Ocean |
(6) (250/1 -150%)250/1(-150%) | (6) Lunar Ocean 250/1, Well beaten in 2 bumpers during the spring and unseated rider on hurdles bow over C&D last month. Displayed some ability on last month's hurdling debut but his jumping needs to improve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Tedley sets just a modest standard based on the official ratings and, while he commands respect by remaining in maiden company rather than going for a handicap, it may be worth focusing on BARRABOOKA, who impressed by winning his solitary start in a point-to-point. Subsequently snapped up for 85,000 pounds, the son of Presenting starts out under Rules at a very realistic level and is by far the most intriguing option here. Nedzor is also considered now he has some experience to draw upon.
TEDLEY took a step forward when going down narrowly at Ffos Las last time and sets a clear benchmark on that performance. Point-winner Barrabooka is from the family of Oscar Whisky, so merits plenty of respect on Rules debut, with Chatshow Tv also considered returned to the scene of his promising debut.
A good second on heavy ground at Ffos Las recently, TEDLEY will be a tough nut to crack if in similar form here.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BARNCROFT showed sizeable improvement after his underwhelming first outing for the Fergal O'Brien when hitting the crossbar in this grade over 2m4f here last month. He was put up just 1lb for that display and, if the son of Getaway takes a step up in distance in his stride, he could go one better. Newtonian ran a lot better than market expectations to fill the runner-up spot at Ludlow last time and could have a say, while Abbeyhill is in good heart.
Tom Lacey's CALL ME ARTHUR took his form up a notch when runner-up at Exeter last time and is weighted to go one better here. Barncroft got back on track when runner-up here and looks the one to give the selection most to do ahead of in-form Abbeyhill.
Being unexposed as a stayer and a very strong contender on recent form, ABBEYHILL (nap) gets the vote. Barncroft is second choice.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EXTRAPOLATION produced a big chunk of improvement when stepping up in trip at Listowel in September, as he accounted for his nearest rival by over nine lengths and was put up 8lb for that success. The son of Mahler could have much more to offer on only his third handicap outing, so he looks the one to side with. Cafe Con Leche struck at Cork over 2m1f recently and could have a say off an 8lb higher rating, while Harry Alonzo is an interesting contender too.
EXTRAPOLATION found further progress as he took his tally to 3 wins for the present campaign at Listowel back in September, responding well for pressure in the process. He shades the vote to continue the good work back from a break, with in-form Dancing Jeremy and low-mileage 7-y-o Harry Alonzo others to consider. Supreme Jet is another worth keeping an eye on back from a lengthy absence.
It could pay to take a chance on the long-absent HARRY ALONZO, potentially well treated on handicap debut

Last-time-out winner TILSWORTH ONY TA proved a different proposition under more positive tactics at Chelmsford recently and a 6lb rise in the ratings may not prevent him from completing a double. Boom Boom Pow returned to form with a solid second over 7f here last Saturday and Mark Usher's filly would be feared most if proving as effective over 6f. Miss Moonshine and I'm Mable are also worth a second look.
TILSWORTH ONY TA proved better than ever when scoring at Chelmsford last time and can follow up from a 6 lb higher mark. Miss Moonshine shaped well on her first start of the winter to make the frame over C&D last time and is next on the shortlist, with Boom Boom Pow taken to complete the placings.
A weak contest, where John Jenkins looks to have found a good opportunity for TILSWORTH ONY TA to follow up his Chelmsford win.

Needs to bounce back from 3 lb out of the handicap. Lightly raced 5yo who has shown glimpses of promise but she was well beaten last time. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
LIBOR LAD was in a determined frame of mind when he won at Uttoxeter last month and could be difficult to overhaul if he copes with the 6lb higher mark today. General Hubble jumped out to the left on occasions when winning at Market Rasen on his latest start and rates as the biggest threat to the selection now going left-handed off 3lb higher, while Hill Of Tara is also respected if turning up after Saturday's Haydock triumph.
A case can be made for a few of these but Kim Bailey's GENERAL HUBBLE overcame some sloppy jumping to score on his return at Market Rasen and can continue on the up and defy a 3 lb rise in the weights. Uttoxeter-winner Libor Lad also arrives on the up and rates a big threat though, with both Rare Clouds and Hill of Tara weighted to have a say too in a competitive handicap.
Having won with something to spare at Uttoxeter last month, LIBOR LAD (nap) could still be ahead of the handicapper and gets the vote.

Sole outing this year resulted in ready success at Newcastle in May; possibilities. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PENPAL returned from a long absence to deny his nearest rival by just over four lengths in this grade at Newcastle in May and, providing he returns in the same sort of form, he could prove very difficult to beat off a 6lb higher rating. The main danger is One Last Glance, who was 12 lengths clear of the third when runner-up at Lingfield last month and it would be no surprise to see him involved. Of the remainder, last-time-out winner Little Pi makes the most appeal.
Claims can be made for a few and it could just be worth chancing HARA KIRI. He has a lengthy absence to overcome but it would be no real surprise to see him hit the ground running for his new yard with his opening mark potentially very lenient. 3-y-o Feach Amach, Penpal and Little Pi head up the dangers.
With further progress looking plausible, LITTLE PI could well defy a 7lb rise for his Ludlow win. One Last Glance is second choice.

THE BIG CLOUD was well supported in the market ahead of her latest Clonmel outing and almost landed the spoils. She was beaten just over a length into second that day, showing marked improvement, and connections have found her a really winnable opening as she bids to go one better now that the penny has dropped. Dontdooddson boasts good enough form to suggest he'll be thereabouts, while Sunwalk showed much more when fifth at Naas 17 days ago.
THE BIG CLOUD signalled she is ready to go in when an excellent clear second at Clonmel and a 4 lb rise in the weights doesn't look sufficient to prevent her from going one better. Shana Cloon heads the list of dangers on the back of her good third at the same track last time, although Dontdooddson, Always Enchanting and Another Red Cat all merit respect too.
This looks like a good opportunity for THE BIG CLOUD who found one too good when well-supported at Clonmel last time

(3) (18/1 -227%)18/1(-227%) | (3) Boom The Groom 18/1, Three wins from 11 runs this year. Soon back to form when making all in 7-runner handicap (8/1) at this C&D (AW) 56 days ago. Retains all his old enthusiasm and he can make another bold bid. Rising 13 but he's won three since August, latterly over C&D last month; should go well. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
GLAMOROUS EXPRESS overcame a troubled passage when landing the spoils here last month. A 2lb rise looks more than fair and the four-year-old could still be ahead of the handicapper. Maharajas Express has hit some form since joining Jack Jones and he cannot be taken lightly racing off only 3lb higher than his recent Wolverhampton triumph. Fellow in-form rivals Bang On The Bell and Boom The Groom should also make their presence felt.
GLAMOROUS EXPRESS made his second start on all-weather a winning one when successful at this course last time, overcoming trouble inside the final 1f, and he can score again with more still to offer on this surface. Maharajas Express got back to winning ways having a first try at 5f on his latest outing and is feared most, ahead of Bang On The Bell.
All eight runners have something to recommend them but MAHARAJAS EXPRESS is back on the up for his new yard and gets the verdict.

San Frandisco |
(4) (3/1 -33%)3/1(-33%) | (4) San Frandisco 3/1, Jukebox Jury gelding who was a 6-figure buy after winning an Irish point. Couldn't justify favouritism but showed plenty of ability when runner-up in bumper at Chepstow (16f, soft) just over 5 weeks ago. Should put that experience to good use here. Engaged 3.45 Haydock Saturday. Won by 14l at Haydock yesterday; will have a 7lb penalty to carry if he runs again here. |

Bill Joyce |
(1) (15/8 +0%)15/8(+0%) | (1) Bill Joyce 15/8, £225,000 4-y-o, Mahler gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to ungenuine but useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 25f) Return Spring. Successful sole start in Irish points (Feb 2023). Bought for £225,000 after winning Irish point debut in February; very interesting prospect. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BILL JOYCE, who cost 225,000 pounds after winning an Irish point-to-point, looks an interesting recruit for Jonjo O'Neill to go to war with this season and the son of Mahler is fancied to make an immediate impact on his debut under Rules. Les's Destiny Star, who went for 150,000 euros at Goffs in June last year, also enters the reckoning based on potential, while Valfortore and Jax Junior might have to settle for supporting roles on their respective racecourse debuts. San Frandisco (won at Haydock on Saturday) would have to be of interest if turning up here too.
BILL JOYCE fetched a hefty some after landing a point in February and he's well worth a chance to defend his unbeaten record for all that there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, notably Valforte and Les's Destiny. San Frandisco, who showed a good level of form at Chepstow first time out, is also a player.
The most obvious answer is BILL JOYCE, who changed hands for big money after his Irish point win in February.

Moonlit Potter |
(7) (5/2 +29%)5/2(+29%) | (7) Moonlit Potter 5/2, Showed something to work on when fourth at Wetherby first time out but this sharper test probably isn't in his favour. Deserves respect nonetheless. Showed promise at Wetherby and the bare form can be marked up; commands respect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Jasmine Bliss |
(3) (11/4 -10%)11/4(-10%) | (3) Jasmine Bliss 11/4, Bought for £50,000 after getting off the mark in Irish points at the third attempt in April and finished with running left when fourth at Ludlow on Rules debut. Coco Brave |
(2) (15/2 +25%)15/2(+25%) | (2) Coco Brave 15/2, Closely related to numerous winners but didn't really come up to expectations when eighth at Aintree first time out. Should have learned from that. Should improve on her Aintree effort; Harry Cobden is a positive booking. |

The Dream Goes On |
(8) (25/1 -79%)25/1(-79%) | (8) The Dream Goes On 25/1, Out of a winning hurdler but only a hint of promise on debut at Warwick 53 days ago. Will need to step up markedly. Only minor promise in big field at Warwick; others have stronger claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Lady Haleth |
(4) (50/1 +0%)50/1(+0%) | (4) Lady Haleth 50/1, Showed nothing at Wetherby on debut last month and looks set for another struggle. Inauspicious debut at Wetherby where she wore a hood, which is now removed. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MOONLIT POTTER shaped with plenty of promise when finishing a fair fourth at Wetherby and, considering that was her first day at school, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. She can find enough improvement to get off the mark in this contest. Jasmine Bliss finished fourth at Ludlow and now goes in a first-time tongue-tie, so she has to be respected along with newcomer Lady Nell.
Having won a point, JASMINE BLISS shaped well in a bumper at Ludlow first time under Rules and, if she can get going sooner, she could land this interesting bumper. Newcomers Big Ange and Lady Nell both make appeal on paper and Moonlit Potter has actually achieved the most in form terms to this point.
Slight preference is for MOONLIT POTTER, ahead of Jasmine Bliss.

Makes plenty of appeal returning to this sphere. Nicely improved third in Navan mares' maiden hurdle; interesting back in a bumper here. |

Could prove a different proposition, so worth monitoring in the betting. Faded quite tamely on last month's Naas debut and has plenty to find with Lady Bluebird. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Glendaars Fortune |
(6) (12/1 +0%)12/1(+0%) | (6) Glendaars Fortune 12/1, Soldier of Fortune mare. Dam showed nothing sole start in bumpers/over hurdles. Successful on last of 4 starts in points (Dec 10). Recent heavy-ground points' winner worth a look on bumper debut. |

(16) (28/1 -180%)28/1(-180%) | (16) Slotty Dotty 28/1, Court Cave mare. Dam (h91), placed in maiden hurdle, sister to temperamental but useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) By The Boardwalk. Successful sole start in points (Nov 4). Wears hood. Beat a warm favourite in point at Lisronagh last month (soft); hooded here for rules debut. |

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
EAST SIDE outran her huge odds to finish fourth over an extended 2m here in October and she would have learned a great deal from that experience. The daughter of Elzaam could have plenty more to come and she is taken to get off the mark. The main threat is Shaving, who was disappointing when behind a couple of these at Naas last month, but she is in fantastic hands and is likely to give a much better account. Any market support for Slotty Dotty would also be of interest.
INSTANT TENDANCE showed a lot more when third in a novice hurdle at Navan 42 days ago and she's seemingly found a weak race back in this sphere, so this could provide a good opportunity to get off the mark. East Side has the best bumper form and looks a danger, while point winner Roxhill Roise warrants a mention.
A bumper which may not take much winning and INSTANT TENDANCE could be the one if reproducing her recent third in a Navan maiden hurdle
Ths is the racecard key.
