11:55 Carlisle Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

WELLINGTON ARCH was no match for a short-priced favourite on his hurdling bow at Exeter, but there were positives to be taken from that performance. The O'Neills' gelding will have learned plenty and is expected to go one better with the experience under his belt. Val Bassett was a winner on the Flat at Newcastle in October and might prove to be the main threat, although Tech That shaped with promise on his sole bumper start and is another to consider.

This looks a good chance for WELLINGTON ARCH to go one better than on his hurdle debut. Donald McCain point recruit Throatlash may provide the main threat ahead of Tech That, who was a close fourth in a Ffos Las bumper last month.

Having kept on well to go close in a 3m point and a bumper, this stiff track should be ideal for TECH THAT on his hurdle debut.

12:02 Navan Handicap Hurdle 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Smart on the Flat, BRAVE TROOP was well supported on his first start for Charles Byrnes when a facile winner at Thurles last month. The five-year-old is up markedly in the ratings but the ground is likely to be similar, which will suit him, and he's open to plenty of further improvement in this discipline. Portnacoo, formerly trained by his owner Harry Smyth, rattled up a hat-trick of victories at Downpatrick in early autumn and returns after a couple of months off to make his debut for Ross O'Sullivan. Clonmel maiden winner Lady Bresil ran creditably after seven months off when placed on handicap debut at Punchestown, while Lygon Lad drops in trip after showing promise in maidens.

BRAVE TROOP had any amount in hand when making successful handicap hurdle debut for new trainer Charles Byrnes at Thurles and even a 16 lb rise doesn't look enough to stop him with further improvement likely. Second choice is Luimneach who had an excuse at Punchestown last time and had been in good form prior to that. Lady Bresil and Gordon Elliott handicap newcomer Lygon Lad complete the shortlist.

As long as the ground does not deteriorate, BRAVE TROOP can probably cope with the 16lb rise handed out for a comfortable Thurles win

12:12 Windsor Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Although he appears a better horse over fences with two chase wins to his name, EXCELLO certainly looks more than capable of scoring in novice hurdle company. Nicky Henderson's charge posted a respectable second on his reappearance over timber at Ascot last month and any improvement is likely to make him difficult to beat. Ma Shantou is rated 11lb inferior to the selection, while also conceding 6lb, but is heading in the right direction after an easy victory at Warwick 25 days ago. The five-year-old is feared most, ahead of fellow penalised winner Illegal D'ainay.

EXCELLO is a useful chaser and, given he's getting weight from his two main rivals, a reproduction of his recent second in an Ascot noice hurdle will likely be enough for him to go one better. Ma Shantou is open to further progress as he gains experience in this sphere and Illegal d'Ainay isn't a forlorn hope.

Jump racing returns to Windsor for the first time in nearly two decades and MA SHANTOU is selected to win this opener.

12:25 Carlisle Handicap Chase (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Point-to-point winner STYLISH RECRUIT gained a narrow success over hurdles at Hexham in June, but chasing ought to be more his game and it would come as no surprise were Sandy Thomson's gelding to find the required improvement. Disco Annie found Listed company a step too far at Newbury, but she is of interest now sent over the larger obstacles. Market support for useful hurdler Cold Sobar would be noteworthy following a 429-day absence.

None of these can be ruled out but the vote goes to DISCO ANNIE who was runner-up in an Irish point and arrives at the top of her game over hurdles. She is taken to go in at the first time of asking in this sphere for her in-form yard ahead of fellow chasing newcomer King of Tara who brings plenty of potential too. Fia Fuinidh appeals as the pick of those with experience and can also have a say in an intriguing contest.

James Ewart's horses are running well and LEITRIM CHIEF caught the eye staying on for third at Hexham in April, after being hampered.

12:35 Navan Handicap Hurdle 20f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

A maiden winner at Bellewstown in April, THEFLYINGBEE acquitted herself very well against some smart novices on her next start at the Punchestown Festival and may have needed the run on handicap debut in September. Her local trainer's last two runners have finished second, which augurs well for a prominent showing from the daughter of Morozov. Kinbara Firstdraft has had her last five runs in Scotland and landed a good-ground handicap over a similar trip at Ayr last month. Well Dressed had been off eight months prior to running poorly when favourite for her handicap debut at Punchestown and is surely capable of better, while Boston Rover made a good start in handicap company when runner-up at Thurles.

AWAY TO MILAN made an encouraging return from an absence at Punchestown 3 weeks ago and is given a chance to build on that promise. Boston Rover made a good start to his handicap career when second at Thurles last month and is second choice ahead of last-time-out winners Kinbara First and Roxhill Rose.

Having run a cracker on return from a long absence at Punchestown last time, AWAY TO MILAN can improve from that to score.

12:45 Windsor Handicap Chase (Class 3) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

Helnwein caught the eye on his only start over fences when second at Warwick, where he was produced from off the pace by Tom Cannon to hit the front before weakening close home. He can go well with that run under his belt but Alan King's gelding has to give 1lb to the more experienced TEDLEY, whose jockey claims a further 7lb. Two wins and two seconds over the larger obstacles proves he has the ability and that may be all he needs, while Doc McCoy might be the one to follow them home.

HELNWEIN continued his progress switched to fences when making a highly promising return at Warwick and appeals as the most likely winner. Tedley continued his good start over fences when second at Newbury and is feared most.

This looks good for HELNWEIN, who ended last season with an excellent hurdle win and bumped into a thriving mare on his chase debut.

13:00 Carlisle Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 19f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

Not the deepest of contests and preference is for LATHAN, who was still in contention when coming to grief two from home at Wetherby last month, a day after winning at Newcastle. An opening mark of 98 looks fair and he might not need much further improvement to land the spoils. Independent Jimmy kept on for fourth over 2m1f here in October and is an interesting contender now upped in trip, along with handicap debutant Deep Strato.

A chance is taken on DEEP STRATO, who is bred to be a good deal better than such a modest opening mark and more than hinted at ability last season. Newcastle maiden winner Lathan looks on a fair opening mark himself and is second choice ahead of Tees Comp's Clive, who also leaves the impression he could step up now handicapping.

Bumper runner-up AIRE SPRAY showed enough on his two hurdling starts last season to suggest he could be on a good opening mark.

13:10 Navan Handicap Hurdle 25f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

After seven months off, BILLY LEE SWAGGER shaped well on his reappearance at Punchestown and is probably still on a workable mark after a 3lb hike. He steps up markedly in trip and wouldn't want the ground to dry out too much, but is likely to go close if improving for this test of stamina. Doitforjane Sid was unable to land a blow in a Pertemps qualifier at Punchestown, but won his first two handicap starts with plenty to spare and had Crossing The Bar back in fourth when successful over this trip at Sligo in October. The latter has been in good form since joining Cian Collins, while his stablemate Robyndeglory returned to form when a fast-finishing third at Tipperary.

Lots with chances but CROSSING THE BAR rates the pick of the weights back in this sphere so edges the vote from handicapping debutants Born Bright (second choice) and Boston Beach. Billy Lee Swagger, Churchwarden and Toor Khov all need factoring into this very open handicap too.

Slight preference is for ROYAL CAVE who held a narrow lead when falling at the last at Fairyhouse

13:20 Windsor Maiden Hurdle (Class 4) 16f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

Starcrossed Lover was a promising second in a Punchestown hurdle on his Irish debut before following that up with a bumper third at Downpatrick. He looks interesting ahead of his first start for Neil Mulholland, alongside French Emperor after his close-up third at Lingfield where he was in with every chance. Both can go well, but French import LA PINSONNIERE raced and placed in far better company at home and could make a winning debut for the Nicky Henderson yard judged on that level of performance.

French-recruit LA PINSONNIERE sets the bar pretty high for a race like this and can make a winning start for the Nicky Henderson yard. French Emperor made a promising start to his hurdle career at Lingfield recently and can fight it out for minor honours with Starcrossed Lover, a new recruit for the Neil Mulholland stable, and Boston Boy.

Ex-Irish STARCROSSED LOVER (narrowly preferred) and ex-French La Pinsonniere are the biggest players on hurdles form.

Upped 3lb, he gets the nod to pick up where he left off on his reappearance. Recent course winner Flic Ou Voyou looks a danger off 6lb higher, although there is a suspicion that he may have enjoyed the run of the race on that occasion. William Of York is also noteworthy.

This is wide open but Olly Murphy has his string in excellent nick so his GRANDADS COTTAGE is taken to make a winning return and edge out the hat-trick seeking Flic Ou Voyou. William of York is another who can have a say despite having an absence to overcome, with Marown completing the shortlist.

Topweight LOUNGE LIZARD showed improved form on his final two runs last term and can make a winning return for the in-form Henry Daly.

13:45 Navan Handicap Chase 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

DONT GO YET would prefer a softer surface, but he ran very well on yielding ground at Fairyhouse and now drops in grade. His jumping was a little ragged last time and an improvement in that department will see him in with a good chance of registering a second success at this venue. Money Heist is on a hat-trick after winning his first two handicap chases on testing ground, but he has been off since January. Someone's Wish has run well in three chase starts since landing a beginners' contest at Downpatrick, while Cheerful Chap was second to a well-treated rival at Clonmel and should progress from that first start in over six months.

CHEERFUL CHAP was unlucky to bump into a handicap blot at Clonmel on his return 12 days ago and remains unexposed as a chaser. The progressive Money Heist is the obvious threat as he bids for the hat-trick on return, with his stablemate Midnight It Is completing the shortlist.

Course winner DONT GO YET is dropped in class with good prospects after running creditably in a Listed handicap chase at Fairyhouse.

13:55 Windsor Handicap Chase (Class 3) 24f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.

JEFFERY'S CROSS has been absent since finishing second at odds-on in May 2023, but with the Skelton team in such good form it may be worth risking his race fitness as he returns to action off 3lb lower in the handicap. He won a better race at Haydock in April 2023 and a repeat of that may be enough here. Cap Du Nord's last success was off this mark in July and he could go close despite the burden of top-weight, while Ballycamus wasn't beaten far at Warwick and could also go well back up in trip.

TANGANYIKA shaped well in a stronger race than this on his chase bow/comeback at Bangor and gets the vote with improvement on the cards. The reliable Ballycamus can follow the selection home.

With improvement on the cards back up in distance, TANGANYIKA (nap) is particularly interesting. Jeffery's Cross is second choice.

14:07 Carlisle Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) 25f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 2 race.

This step up in trip could be the making of D ART D ART, who caught the eye when a staying-on third over an extended 2m6f at Navan and he looks the one to side with, despite a 7lb higher mark. Gwennie May Boy only got as far as the fourth on his seasonal reappearance at Haydock, but he was progressive last season and it will be no surprise if he is able to make his presence felt off a career-high mark. Icare Allen is also a key player.

ICARE ALLEN is still well-handicapped on the best of his form and he is taken to follow up his victory at Uttoxeter last month. Interesting Irish challenger D Art D Art and Gwennie May Boy can give the selection most to think about, while the progressive Scarlet O'Tara is also respected.

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

INDIVIDUALISTE won twice over hurdles for Paul Nicholls and has steadily improved in three chase outings since joining Gavin Cromwell. He looked a strong stayer when successful over 3m1f at Thurles last time and this galloping track will play to his strength. Soloman Lane won over 2m5f at Leopardstown last spring and it will be interesting to see if the market speaks in his favour after a break, while Valsorpresa ran too freely at Down Royal last month and will appreciate this drop in distance. Point-to-point winner Dawn Escape showed some promise at Tramore and now tackles handicap company for the first time.

INDIVIDUALISTE opened his chasing account with ease at Thurles last time and looks on a good mark back in a handicap. Soloman Lane can go well fresh and won at Leopardstown when last seen in March, so is next best ahead of Dawn Escape, who may do better now handicapping.

Twice successful as a hurdler over shorter trips than this, INDIVIDUALISTE gets the vote to back up a 3m1f Thurles beginners' win

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ASIAN SPICE stripped fitter for her satisfactory reappearance fourth when winning readily over an extended 2m2f at Exeter last month. Jimmy Frost's mare was well in command on that occasion and she gets the vote to go in again off 6lb higher under Harry Cobden. Little Soiree was outclassed in a Listed race over an extended 2m at Newbury on her seasonal return last month, but she must enter calculations easing in grade on her handicap debut. Bellbird is respected most out of the remainder.

SAISISSANTE can record her second success over hurdles, having posted a likeable comeback effort at Hereford 18 days ago. Bellbird ran well at Carlisle last time out, and she can chase home the selection ahead of Asian Spice, with Harry Cobden an eyecatching jockey booking.

On the back of a solid effort, BELLBIRD could well record her first handicap win. Saisissante is second pick.

14:42 Carlisle Handicap Chase (Class 5) 26f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

The key to this race could be the recent clash here between GIPSY LEE ROSE (first) and Croagh Patrick (second), with the latter 4lb better off for a three-and-a-quarter-length defeat. Nick Alexander's mare is still taken to come out on top again and it may be that Rock Of Star gives her the most to think about, despite falling when well fancied on his stable debut here in October.

ROCK OF STAR was strong in the betting starting out for this yard when falling at the 11th here on his comeback in October so is worth another chance. Gipsy Lee Rose and Croagh Patrick were first and second in a similar event over C&D 2 weeks ago so also need considering.

The 10yo mare GIPSY LEE ROSE made it three wins from her last six starts when making all over C&D a fortnight ago and can follow up.

14:55 Navan Handicap Chase 24f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

POTTERS PARTY ran well on his return at Down Royal early last month and can bag another win over fences now. The Mahler gelding chased home History Of Fashion and the form got a boost with the winner going on to land the Porterstown Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse. He had Shajak back in third at Down Royal and can confirm the placings. Invictus Machin also runs in the JP McManus colours and could be a danger. The Coastal Path gelding came good over fences at Kilbeggan back in August and, despite an 8lb hike, he still looks on a competitive mark.

POTTERS PARTY signalled he is ready to go in again when an excellent second at Down Royal so looks the way to go. The handily-weighted Verdant Place heads the list of dangers, although the likes of Pipers Boreen, Temptationinmilan and Shajak all enter calculations in this competitive handicap.

Runner-up on return at Down Royal to a rival who has franked the form since, POTTERS PARTY can go one better today.

15:05 Windsor Handicap Chase (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

REILLY hasn't been seen since running with credit in fourth over 3m at Kempton in February 2023, but he looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper on his return to the track. Having gone well fresh before, Dan Skelton's charge gets the nod to land the spoils off what appears to be a more than manageable mark. Duhallow Tommy wasn't disgraced when third in a slightly deeper race over an extended 2m3f at Fontwell in October and commands respect eased 1lb with his sights lowered, while Hasthing is also considered.

HASTHING should improve for his chasing debut and bumper form gives him the potential for a good bit more progress yet, so he's preferred to the reliable Duhallow Tommy. Zertakt is well handicapped on his French form and returns with his stable going well, so he's not without hope.

Topweight HASTHING was a promising novice hurdler last season and can build upon last month's encouraging chase debut.

15:15 Carlisle NH Flat Race (Class 5) 17f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.

A promising fourth on debut here when only weakening late in the piece, OH CLARE is likely to have plenty of improvement forthcoming and this appeals as an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Down the field in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham first time out, Crying Lightning should appreciate this drop in grade, while the well-related Gintime could be the pick of the newcomers for the in-form Nicky Richards team. Little Wren and Smile Back can be monitored for market support as well.

GINTIME is bred to go well in this sphere and, if sufficiently clued up, could be capable of getting the better of Oh Clare, who is the clear pick of those with experience. Crying Lightning should find this easier than her debut in a listed race, so she's also considered.

The attractively bred 4yo OH CLARE made a positive start to her career when fourth over C&D last month and that form reads well.

15:25 Navan NH Flat Race 16f Race Speed Rating Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's race.

Gordon Elliott obviously has a strong hand in this and it will be interesting to see if all the Gigginstown horses turn up. Kalypso'chance was impressive first time out at Punchestown three weeks ago and was installed as an early ante-post favourite for Cheltenham. It's noteworthy, though, that Harry Swan was jocked up early on for CLASSICAL CREEK and the Walk In The Park gelding may prove the one. He won cosily enough on his 'track' debut at Down Royal having been well touted coming into that race. Friary Road has a victory over Whinney Hill and Jerry From Kerry in the bag and is another who has to come into calculations.

Gigginstown has a strong hand in this with point winners KALYPSO'CHANCE and Classical Creek both having made impressive Rules debuts. They're likely to fight it out, with the former taken to prevail, although a case can be made for the others.

KALYPSO'CHANCE was very impressive when running away with a Punchestown bumper and has the champion amateur aboard today.

15:40 Windsor Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 20f Race Class Flow

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.

ONEWAYWEST hit the woodwork on both hurdle starts before coming to grief four from home when still in with a shout on his handicap debut over an extended 2m3f at Wetherby last December. Off the same mark, Ben Pauling's unexposed five-year-old is taken to gain a well-deserved breakthrough victory here. Loverdose was last seen finishing runner-up at Chepstow last month and looks the main danger to the selection, despite a 7lb rise in the ratings. Douglas Dc completes the shortlist.

Plenty are in with a shout but it's still hard to side against Robert Walford's progressive LOVERDOSE who is fancied to gain compenastion for his excellent Chepstow second last time out when scuppered by a late error. Both Fourtowns and Poncho are weighted to have a say and must enter calculations, while others to consider include Onewaywest, Douglas DC and Calshot Spit.

A chance is taken on ONEWAYWEST, who has been absent for almost a year but is very interesting judged on his penultimate effort.
