1st (7) (8/1 +60%) Voltaic |
8/1(+60%) | (7) Voltaic 8/1, Latest win at Leicester in June. Blinkered for first time, seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (8.6f, 20/1) 12 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Visor back on dropped in trip. Not at his best in two runs at Wolverhampton last month after a break; connections run two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (9/1 -38%) My Boy Jack |
9/1(-38%) | (9) My Boy Jack 9/1, 4/1, creditable second of 10 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 20 days ago. Likely to give it another good go. All wins over 6f at Wolverhampton; effective over C&D and comes here in good form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (28/1 -133%) Heavenly Fire |
28/1(-133%) | (6) Heavenly Fire 28/1, Fifth of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f, 11/1) 29 days ago, nearest finish. Has work to do. Exposed 13-race maiden; bits of form that offer hope of a win but others appeal more here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (11/4 +45%) Ashford Hill |
11/4(+45%) | (5) Ashford Hill 11/4, First run since leaving Geoffrey Deacon and career best when winning 11-runner handicap (125/1) at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago, providing rider with her first winner under Rules. Up just 2 lb and she's unexposed. Sprung a huge shock over C&D on recent stable debut; unexposed and this is weaker. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (28/1 -133%) Under Curfew |
28/1(-133%) | (4) Under Curfew 28/1, Course winner. 16/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 12 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Merits consideration with headgear removed. Kept on well for second at Wolverhampton 12 days ago (5f); should go well back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (14/1 +13%) Mount Mogan |
14/1(+13%) | (8) Mount Mogan 14/1, C&D winner. Tenth of 11 in handicap (11/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 47 days ago, ridden too aggressively. Conditions to suit and he's on a lowly mark; not ruled out at this level. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (11/2 +0%) Mr Trick |
11/2(+0%) | (10) Mr Trick 11/2, Eleven runs since last win in 2023. Good third of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (7.1f, 17/2) 11 days ago, finishing with running left having been hampered. Has to be taken very seriously. Much more like it the last twice and he was unlucky at Newcastle 11 days ago; solid claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (7/1 +30%) Edergole's Gift |
7/1(+30%) | (3) Edergole's Gift 7/1, C&D winner. Winner here in August. Good fourth of 12 in handicap (10/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 66 days ago, nearest finish. C&D win in August and ran to a similar level at Chelmsford last time; each-way shout. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (12/1 +40%) Amathus |
12/1(+40%) | (11) Amathus 12/1, Twelve runs since last win in 2023. Tenth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f, 25/1) 29 days ago. 0-12 on AW and recent Kempton efforts haven't suggested he's ready to defy a wide draw. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (1) (5/2 +0%) Just Ten High |
5/2(+0%) | (1) Just Ten High 5/2, Latest win at Southwell in October. Creditable third of 11 in handicap (10/11) at Chelmsford City (7f) 24 days ago. Has to be of interest at this level from the inside stall. Progressed well since h'capping; 1st run here but good claims under experienced apprentice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (66/1 -164%) Salaamaat |
66/1(-164%) | (2) Salaamaat 66/1, 28/1, first run since leaving Rae Guest when last of 11 in handicap at Kempton (6f) 27 days ago. Not easy to make a case for on the back of that. Low-key stable debut last month but return to 7f a plus and this is weaker. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
ASHFORD HILL defied market expectation when making a winning stable debut over C&D a fortnight ago. A 2lb rise in the ratings looks more than workable and a brace could be on the cards for the three-year-old. Under Curfew arrives on the back of a staying-on second over 5f at Wolverhampton and Tony Carroll's gelding is feared most back up in trip. Edergole's Gift, Just Ten High and My Boy Jack are others to consider.
MR TRICK would have finished closer with a clear run at Newcastle and given the mark he's dropped to these days, he looks very interesting now he's back in reasonable nick. Ashford Hill caused a huge surprise over C&D but there didn't look to be any fluke about it so she's a threat, along with Just Ten High from his inside stall.
Just Ten High and Ashford Hill are strongly respected but MR TRICK was unlucky at Newcastle and looks ready to strike.

1st (1) (6/1 +57%) Solar Edge |
6/1(+57%) | (1) Solar Edge 6/1, Winner at Chepstow in August. Eleventh of 12 in nursery at Bath (5f, good, 18/1) 80 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Beat Roysdelight at Chepstow on his nursery debut; too free early last time; gelded since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (7/2 -56%) Natsumi |
7/2(-56%) | (2) Natsumi 7/2, Tongue strap on for first time, career best when winning 7-runner nursery (9/4) at Chelmsford City (5f) 24 days ago by ¾ length from Startling, kept up to work. May have more to offer over the minimum trip. Improved for switch to nurseries when scoring cosily at Chelmsford last month; big chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (33/1 -136%) Hint Of Humour |
33/1(-136%) | (6) Hint Of Humour 33/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Fifth of 8 in novice at Windsor (5.1f, good, 80/1) 78 days ago, not knocked about. Makes handicap debut. Ran her best race to date when fifth at Windsor 11 weeks ago; may do better yet. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (10/3 +58%) Roysdelight |
10/3(+58%) | (3) Roysdelight 10/3, Good third of 9 in nursery (20/1) at this C&D (AW) 12 days ago. Level looks pretty well established. Latest C&D third came in a stronger race; should make another bold bid from the front. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (4/1 +11%) Startling |
4/1(+11%) | (4) Startling 4/1, Latest win at Chelmsford City in October. 9/5, creditable ¾-length second of 7 to Natsumi in nursery at Chelmsford City (5f) 24 days ago. Can give it another good go. On the up since handicapping but may not reverse latest placings with Natsumi. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (9) (12/1 -71%) Mister Coco Fizz |
12/1(-71%) | (9) Mister Coco Fizz 12/1, Visored for first time, excellent second of 7 in nursery at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 14/1) 10 days ago, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Can make presence felt. Improved run when 2nd at Wolverhampton ten days ago (first-time visor); this looks tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (14/1 +30%) Apple's Angel |
14/1(+30%) | (8) Apple's Angel 14/1, Winner at Chelmsford City in October. In nothing like the same form when last of 10 in nursery (10/3) at Chelmsford City (6f) 24 days ago, swerving badly right leaving the stalls. Sprung a surprise on her nursery debut (6f, Polytrack) but couldn't back it up last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (40/1 -186%) Dreambird Dolly |
40/1(-186%) | (7) Dreambird Dolly 40/1, Fourth of 9 in novice at Wolverhampton (5.1f, 66/1) 12 days ago. Makes handicap debut. Must improve for all she is going the right way. Some ability in 5f events on turf/Tapeta last month; not obviously thrown in now h'capping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (10) (125/1 -213%) The Magic Turtle |
125/1(-213%) | (10) The Magic Turtle 125/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Hooded for 1st time, eighth of 10 in nursery (40/1) at Chelmsford City (5f). Off 119 days. Poor form in four starts; easy to oppose from the widest stall. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (13/2 +28%) Risk |
13/2(+28%) | (5) Risk 13/2, 4/1, bit below form seventh of 12 in nursery at Southwell (8.1f) 43 days ago. Significantly down in trip. Makes polytrack debut. Likely better than we've seen so far but the drop to a fast 5f asks a new question of him. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
The application of a first-time visor saw an improved performance from Mister Coco Fizz when finishing a close-up second at Wolverhampton 10 days ago. A 1lb higher rating is unlikely to prevent another bold bid, but last month's Chelmsford scorer NATSUMI shades the verdict. The daughter of Kameko proved a different proposition on her nursery bow and she looks capable of beating Startling once more.
NATSUMI and Startling dominated a Chelmsford nursery 3 weeks ago and the pair may come to the fore again, with the former taken to uphold the form given she's totally unexposed over 5f. Of the rest, Mister Coco Fizz reacted well to a visor last time so he needs considering.
This looks good for NATSUMI (nap), who won with more authority than the winning margin suggests on last month's nursery debut.

1st (8) (12/1 0%) Eve's Hope |
12/1(0%) | (8) Eve's Hope 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. Creditable eighth of 14 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, good to soft, 66/1) 30 days ago. Does not look good enough on the strength of maiden hurdle outings at Tramore and Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (4/6 +39%) Giant Haystacks |
4/6(+39%) | (4) Giant Haystacks 4/6, Lightly-raced maiden. First run since leaving Barry Fitzgerald when excellent fourth of 23 in handicap hurdle at Navan (16f, good to soft, 25/1) 16 days ago, finishing well. Hard to beat. Can be rated a strong contender on the strength of fourth placing in a Naas handicap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (18/1 +10%) Ballinoe Blaze |
18/1(+10%) | (1) Ballinoe Blaze 18/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 22/1, eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at this course (16.2f, good to soft) 26 days ago. Looks flattered by an official rating of 102 that gives him a realistic chance in theory. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (14) (5/1 -11%) Polly Poppins |
5/1(-11%) | (14) Polly Poppins 5/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 5/1, running well fell in novice hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 54 days ago joined when falling 2 out, looking sure to be placed (at the very least). Merits respect. Leading but facing challenges when falling two out at Tramore, could make presence felt. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (12/1 +40%) Couldntmakeitup |
12/1(+40%) | (3) Couldntmakeitup 12/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. 8/1, sixth of 13 in novice hurdle at Tipperary (16.5f, soft) on hurdles bow 11 days ago. Jumping lacked fluency at Tipperary, finished 3 1/4l behind fifth-placed Couldntmakeitup. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (25/1 -108%) Marine Ranger |
25/1(-108%) | (5) Marine Ranger 25/1, Thrice-raced maiden. Tenth of 11 in bumper at Navan (16.2f, good to soft, 25/1) 17 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Fair fifth at Listowel on the first of three bumper runs, has failed to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (9) (22/1 -83%) Finnicky Filly |
22/1(-83%) | (9) Finnicky Filly 22/1, Modest hurdler. 16/1, bit below form fifth of 13 in novice hurdle at Tipperary (16.5f, soft) 11 days ago. Not a bad run when fifth at Tipperary, in front of Couldntmakeitup and Rorkes Drift. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (50/1 -355%) Glenmalure Flyer |
50/1(-355%) | (10) Glenmalure Flyer 50/1, Modest hurdler. Remains a maiden after 9 hurdle runs. First run since leaving Henry De Bromhead when tenth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (16f, soft, 22/1) 14 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Respected. Modest form for Henry de Bromhead, in rear in a handicap hurdle at Limerick two weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (40/1 +20%) Rorkes Drift |
40/1(+20%) | (7) Rorkes Drift 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 80/1, seventh of 13 in novice hurdle at Tipperary (16.5f, soft) 11 days ago. 88-rated gelding will need to show significant improvement to feature, makes no appeal. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|C| (13) (150/1 -275%) Only You Norah |
150/1(-275%) | (13) Only You Norah 150/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. 33/1, last of 8 in novice hurdle at Thurles (16.2f, good) 5 days ago. Has struggled in four outings including maiden hurdles at this venue and Thurles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (2) (6/1 +82%) Battle Roar |
6/1(+82%) | (2) Battle Roar 6/1, Modest hurdler. 66/1, fourteenth of 16 in novice chase at Gowran (20f, good) on debut over fences 24 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles. Blinkers back on. Tailed off over fences last time, previously ran well in a handicap off a modest rating. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (11) (80/1 -21%) Kathy Choice |
80/1(-21%) | (11) Kathy Choice 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. 125/1, twelfth of 16 in novice hurdle at Killarney (22.2f, good). Off 18 months. Down in trip. Ran four times in the first half of 2023, nothing to suggest she could feature on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (40/1 -100%) Mellem |
40/1(-100%) | (6) Mellem 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden under Rules. 14/1, eighth of 14 in novice hurdle at Limerick (18.7f, soft) 14 days ago. Remote fourth at Naas, jumped poorly when down the field at Limerick, safe to rule out. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|RO| (12) (80/1 -21%) Mountrivers Lass |
80/1(-21%) | (12) Mountrivers Lass 80/1, Poor hurdler. 66/1, tenth of 16 in novice hurdle at Killarney (22.4f, good to soft). Off 6 months. Back down in trip. Lacks a recent run, needs to improve on the form she showed in the first half of the year. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
GIANT HAYSTACKS has strong claims. Beaten 26 lengths in a Grade 3 contest on career debut last December, he has shown nice ability in recent months and having run well in a good point-to-point in October, finished nicely in a big-field handicap at Navan last month and a reproduction would give him every chance. Polly Poppins was leading but being challenged when falling at Tramore in October but has place claims while Mellem was well beaten in recent maidens hurdles but ran well in a bumper last September.
This is a good opportunity for GIANT HAYSTACKS to get off the mark. Indeed, he shaped well starting out for this yard in a big-field Navan handicap 16 days ago and a reproduction of that would make him hard to beat. Polly Poppins was in the process of running a big race when exiting at the second-last in a Tramore maiden last time and she will likely emerge as the main danger granted a clear round this time. Glenmalure Flyer is best of the rest.
This is a good opportunity for GIANT HAYSTACKS who coped well in handicap company when fourth in a 23-runner contest at Navan

1st (3) (11/4 -10%) Theformismighty |
11/4(-10%) | (3) Theformismighty 11/4, Expensive point winner who got off the mark over hurdles at Market Rasen in March. Type to make a better chaser and made a promising start over fences when fourth at Chepstow on return. Can build on that with headgear applied. Irish point winner; plenty to like about chase debut over 2m3f in higher grade; improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (9/1 +10%) Kaituna River |
9/1(+10%) | (7) Kaituna River 9/1, A fair winner at 21f over hurdles and he recorded a creditable third of 6 in handicap hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, good) 32 days ago. Much respected on his chase debut. Won Irish point; respectable 2m3f chase debut; likely more needed to win today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (14/1 -87%) Jaramillo |
14/1(-87%) | (1) Jaramillo 14/1, Scored at Sedgefield in September and recorded a good second of 5 in handicap hurdle there (19.8f, good to soft) 44 days ago. Much respected on his chase debut. In top form in 2m4f hurdles; needs more switched to fences; suited by good ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (5) (4/1 +0%) Awaythelad |
4/1(+0%) | (5) Awaythelad 4/1, A dual winning hurdler around 2m4f who shaped well on his first go over fences when third of 11 in handicap chase at Lingfield (20f, good) 21 days ago. That form has been franked so a bold showing is on the cards. Failed to go on in handicap hurdles but his recent 2m4f chase debut was a good start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (8) (80/1 -220%) Sainte Doctor |
80/1(-220%) | (8) Sainte Doctor 80/1, Scored at Chepstow and Ludlow in April, 2023, and resumed from 18 months off with a well-held last of 3 in 2m4f Plumpton handicap chase 43 days ago. Ended latest campaign with 2 chase wins in April 2023; finished remote on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (5/2 +38%) Yes Day |
5/2(+38%) | (4) Yes Day 5/2, Fairly useful 2m4f winner at 20f over hurdles. Made a promising start in this sphere when third of 8 in handicap chase at Warwick (20f, good) 28 days ago. Capable of better. Good staying hurdle form; promising chase debut over 2m4f; looks sure to do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (2) (10/1 +29%) Champagnesuperover |
10/1(+29%) | (2) Champagnesuperover 10/1, Dual chaser winner around 3m in spring 2022. Lightly raced since and considerately handled when tenth of 15 in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, soft) 20 days ago. Since had a wind op and he's one to keep an eye on. Lightly raced now but on a low mark on past form and strongly hinted at revival latest. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (12/1 +14%) Imac Wood |
12/1(+14%) | (9) Imac Wood 12/1, Resumed winning ways at Uttoxeter in July but only sixth of 8 in handicap chase at Warwick (20f, good) 28 days ago. Others are more persuasive. Six chase wins; below best in last two starts and will do well to add to haul here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (18/1 -64%) Heroique De Maulde |
18/1(-64%) | (10) Heroique De Maulde 18/1, Scored at Doncaster in February 2023, for James Ewart. Looked rusty after 18 months off for his new yard when twelfth of 15 in handicap chase at Bangor (20.3f, soft) 20 days ago. Can take a step forward. Three chase wins in France and Britain; low-key start for this yard back from absence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (40/1 -21%) Russian Ruler |
40/1(-21%) | (6) Russian Ruler 40/1, Ended last term out of sorts for Nicky Henderson, fourteenth of 21 in handicap hurdle at Aintree (24.7f, good to soft) in April. Reverts to fences with lots more required on yard debut. Promising chase debut but had unhappy experiences since; well treated for new yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
THEFORMISMIGHTY made a promising start to his chasing career with a respectable fourth-placed finish over the extended 2m3f at Chepstow in October and could find the addition of cheekpieces unlocks another gear, with the additional yardage also a likely source of improvement. Awaythelad and Yes Day both have similar profiles to the selection and also need serious consideration. Sainte Doctor holds a solid each-way chance.
Ben Pauling's AWAYTHELAD made a promising start over fences when a recent third at Lingfield and with that form working out well he looks the way to go. Both Theformismighty and Yes Day have better days ahead of them too and can have a say, while chasing newcomers Jaramillo and Kaituna River also bring potential in this intriguing handicap.
Theformismighty should be winning over fences soon but YES DAY also made a good impression on his chase debut and is preferred.

200/1(-100%) | (1) Campani 200/1, Twice-raced colt. 20/1, last of 10 in maiden at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 17 days ago. Well beaten in two AW starts this autumn; minor handicaps beckon. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
MARHABA GHAIYYATH offered plenty of encouragement when posting a close-up second on his racecourse debut at Wolverhampton 17 days ago. Charlie Johnston's inmate should have learned plenty from that opening bid and he gets a confident vote. Circus Of Rome may serve the most resistance to the selection after finishing a respectable sixth on his introduction over C&D last month, ahead of Minelone.
MARHABA GHAIYYATH's debut was chock-full of promise, likely to have won had he not been forced to come from so far back and with above-average improvement anticipated, he'll take some stopping. Circus of Rome is the danger unless a newcomer is above-average.
Minelone can go well now upped in trip but CIRCUS OF ROME is taken to leave his promising C&D debut behind him.

MAYOS VENDANGEUR is progressive and ran well in a better handicap last month. Her initial form was ordinary but has shown consistent ability in recent months with the form of her recent Limerick run being nicely boosted by the fifth-placed horse winning subsequently. Four-time Flat winner San Aer has frustrated in his hurdling career todate, with National Hunt distances possibly stretching him, but ran well in a similar race last month. Rated 86 when finishing sixth in the Lincoln in March, he likes testing ground so should be better suited by today's ground than at Thurles. Aboy Joey has shown nice ability in similar handicaps and has place claims.
This looks wide open and a chance is taken on ABOY JOEY, who stepped up on his reappearance effort when fourth of 11 at Wexford and he is appealing off the same mark here. C&D winner Marlpark will be a danger to all if he puts his best foot forward, while Job Well Done is one to note in the betting on her handicap debut and Mayos Vendangeur is an each-way player.
Coming back to 2m might see ON YOUR WAY in a better light, having been well below his best maiden form over 2m4f last time

14/1(-180%) | (3) Ben Buie 14/1, Unreliable sort but he posted a good third of 12 in handicap chase at Hereford (16f, good) 29 days ago. Needs to back it up now. Hereford winner in October lin 2023, and fair third over same C&D last time; a possible. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Last-time-out winners NEIGH BOTHA and Haafback are suggested as the pair to focus on. Although a surprise winner on the day, the latter won with something in hand at Ludlow on his chasing debut and must rate a player off just 1lb higher. Nevertheless, the former has a stronger overall profile and could be up to giving weight away all round with his proven liking for this venue a big plus. Ben Buie and Havock complete the shortlist.
EXTRAORDINARY MAN teed himself up well for this when an encouraging reappearance fourth at Hereford and can capitalise on a lenient mark. Neigh Botha could emerge as the main danger on the back of his recent C&D success, with Ludlow victor Haafback also in the mix.
After a fair run last time EXTRAORDINARY MAN can win his second race over fences on his second run since wind surgery.

HAMDANI CRUISER posted a much better effort when upped to 1m1f at Wolverhampton. A respectable fourth on that occasion, James Horton's inmate looks to have more to offer and may prove the one to side with. Timeless Spirit caught the eye finishing with a late flourish to take second at Southwell on her racecourse debut, though has been done no favours drawn wide once again. Hush Puppy is related to several winners on the all-weather and is a newcomer to note.
TIMELESS SPIRIT showed plenty to work on despite being sent off at huge odds when second at Southwell and can put that experience to good use up against likely-looking newcomers Kolo and Crack On Boys.
Timeless Spirit sets the standard but it's not daunting. HAMDANI CRUISER has more to offer and he's tentatively preferred.

2nd (4) (7/4 +30%) Sandor Clegane |
7/4(+30%) | (4) Sandor Clegane 7/4, Useful winning hurdler and smart maiden chaser, again running well when fourth of 7 in Grade 1 at Punchestown in April. Player back hurdling. Good form in novice chases last season, smart novice hurdler the season before last. |

5/2(-11%) | (5) Three Card Brag 5/2, Useful winning hurdler and smart form when placed all 3 starts over fences, latterly in Grade 1 at Punchestown in April. Capable fresh and merits respect back over hurdles. Good novice chaser last season, closely matched with Sandor Clegane on Punchestown running. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (5/1 -11%) Plains Indian |
5/1(-11%) | (3) Plains Indian 5/1, Useful hurdler who bounced back to best to snap a long losing run in 8-runner C&D handicap (good to soft, 9/1) 26 days ago, hard held. This is tougher but can't be dismissed. Went up 10lb for C&D handicap win last month, needs to find a little extra now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
SANDOR CLEGANE is closely matched with Three Card Brag on their previous meetings but is slightly less reliant on testing ground conditions than that rival. The selection finished third, and ahead of Three Card Brag, in Cheltenham's 2023 Albert Bartlett and while the score between the pair is 2-2 following four prior meetings, Sandor Clegane might hold a small edge, with each horse reverting from fences on season reappearance. Recent course-and-distance winner Plains Indian faces a tougher task today and would prefer good ground while Franciscan Rock won a recent Punchestown handicap but also steps up in grade. Recent chase winner Drumgill concedes plenty weight.
THREE CARD BRAG is capable fresh and gets the nod to make a successful return back over hurdles. Sandor Clegane is an obvious threat having done well as a novice hurdler in 2022/23, with recent Punchestown scorer Franciscan Rock also feared.
The 2023 Albert Bartlett third SANDOR CLEGANE is slightly preferred to Three Card Brag, old rivals at this stage.

15/2(-88%) | (4) Nazare 15/2, Masterstroke half-brother to Italian 7f-1¼m winner Mexico Point. Dam unraced. His good trainer is only 1-13 in bumpers so far but expect that strike-rate to improve before long. Very good middle-distance family; up-and-coming yard 1-14 in bumpers; worth market check. |

3rd (7) (5/2 +38%) Star Artist |
5/2(+38%) | (7) Star Artist 5/2, Telescope gelding who is a half-brother to bumper winners and showed a fair level of ability when fourth of 8 on his Huntingdon debut in March. Should improve for that experience and respected. Yard has done well with the family in bumpers/on Flat; shaped nicely on debut; improve. |

12/1(-100%) | (3) Hestina Hill 12/1, Kingston Hill gelding. Dam (h119) 2m/17f hurdle winner, also 1½m winner on Flat. Has had wind surgery. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for top yard. Out of 1m4f Flat winner who won 3 hurdles for the yard; had wind op; check the betting. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (18/1 -13%) Clearisthewater |
18/1(-13%) | (2) Clearisthewater 18/1, Point winner but beaten around 14 lengths in bumpers at Warwick and Sedgefield this autumn. Likely vulnerable for win purposes again. Won third of three Irish points; respectable form in bumpers for new yard; frame chance. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
BERKENSHTAAAP was purchased for 45,000 pounds after winning an Irish point in May and Olly Murphy's gelding merits the utmost respect on his Rules debut. Star Artist was not disgraced when filling fourth place on his racecourse bow in a Huntingdon bumper earlier in the year and he should not be discounted. Others to note are Hestina Hill and Dramatic Encore.
There's a few interesting sorts among the Rules newcomers, none more so than Dan Skelton's HESTINA HILL, who gets the nod before any market clues are known. Irish point recruits Berkenshtaaap and Dramatic Encore are other likely types for whom the betting should be informative, while Star Artist looks pick of those with experience.
Berkenshtaaap is an interesting recruit but STAR ARTIST made a good start to his career in the spring and should come on plenty.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (14/1 +13%) Vecchio |
14/1(+13%) | (1) Vecchio 14/1, Creditable fourth of 9 in handicap (33/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) 10 days ago. Makes polytrack debut. Exposed maiden but in better heart than his formfigures suggest; often slowly away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (16/1 -357%) Semser |
16/1(-357%) | (5) Semser 16/1, Temperamental sort. Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable second of 15 in handicap (2/1) at Chelmsford City (10f) 61 days ago. Player with a repeat. Just missed out in a big field at Chelmsford in October; more appealing than most in here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (80/1 -60%) Mapogo |
80/1(-60%) | (2) Mapogo 80/1, 80/1, thirteenth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (8f) 29 days ago. Back up in trip. Horribly out of sorts for current stable; down in the weights but not easily recommended. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (4) (18/1 -100%) Villalobos |
18/1(-100%) | (4) Villalobos 18/1, C&D winner. 28/1 and cheekpieces on for 1st time in this code, fifth of 7 in novice hurdle at Kempton (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 22 days ago. Modest on the Flat, creditable on last Flat run. Conditions to suit and more than capable at this level; stall 12 the major negative. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (80/1 -100%) Saratoga Star |
80/1(-100%) | (11) Saratoga Star 80/1, Cheekpieces on for 1st time, ninth of 11 in handicap at Bath (10.2f, good to firm, 80/1) 79 days ago. Others more persuasive. Poor form for current yard and comes here with far too much to prove. |

10th (10) (28/1 -155%) Sunset In Paris |
28/1(-155%) | (10) Sunset In Paris 28/1, 3-time C&D winner. 4 wins from 10 runs this year. Latest win at Chelmsford City in August. Eleventh of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f, 17/2) 19 days ago. Conditions to suit and the booking of Rossa Ryan (3-3 on board) points to a revival. |

11th (7) (10/3 +33%) Global Resolve |
10/3(+33%) | (7) Global Resolve 10/3, 15/2 and visored for 1st time, creditable second of 13 in handicap at Chelmsford City (10f) 19 days ago. Not taken lightly. Ran well dropped to this grade 19 days ago; unexposed in a visor; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (6) (80/1 -60%) Devore |
80/1(-60%) | (6) Devore 80/1, Eighth of 12 in handicap at Bath (8f, heavy, 18/1). Off 7 months. Back up in trip. First run for yard after leaving Mark Loughnane. Out of sorts earlier in the year; drawn wide on stable debut after seven months off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Global Resolve finished clear of the rest when runner-up at Chelmsford in a first-time visor. The headgear remains in place and he can feature once again, but SEMSER is taken to resume winning ways. Sent off favourite at Chelmsford in October, the seven-year-old failed to get a clear run when beaten only a neck and can make amends by landing this contest. Harlington won over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time and can go well too.
FORGE VALLEY LAD wasn't seen to best effect over C&D last time and is well enough weighted to go close. Harlington and Global Resolve head the dangers.
Rossa Ryan is back on board Sunset In Paris but their unbeaten partnership may meet its match in the shape of GLOBAL RESOLVE.

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (150/1 -50%) Honky Tonk |
150/1(-50%) | (8) Honky Tonk 150/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Blinkered for 1st time, seventh of 10 in bumper at this course (16.2f, good to soft, 200/1) 26 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Promising bumper debut for Willie Mullins in 2022 but no sign of that for this yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
C'EST TA CHANCE showed smart ability in his bumper debut last January and has winning point-to-point experience. Narrowly defeated by a subsequently Grade 1-placed winner in that Naas race, he was subsequently well held in the Cheltenham Bumper and disappointed at Ayr in April but contests a winnable maiden today, stepping up in distance. Stablemate Jump Allen defeated a subsequent dual hurdle winner when scoring on debut at Killarney but should struggle to concede 8lb to the selection. Harry's Dream ran well at Gowran while point-to-point winner Onlymammycanloveme wears a tongue-tie on reappearance. Recent withdrawal Whatsanotheryear has been waiting such a long time for suitable ground, which until now wasn't available.
Willie Mullins holds the aces here but separating JUMP ALLEN and C'est Ta Chance isn't easy. The latter achieved slightly more in bumpers but the former had just the one run and was pretty impressive when winning at Killarney, so he shades the vote. Of the rest, point-winner Onlymammycanloveme is of some interest.
It looks significant that Patrick Mullins rides C'EST TA CHANCE in preference to his penalised stablemate Jump Allen.

6/4(-9%) | (4) Jordans Cross 6/4, €8,000 3-y-o, £50,000 4-y-o, Berkshire gelding. Dam bumper winner (stayed 23f). Won Irish point in March and ran to a high figure for one beaten in a bumper when second at Chepstow a month ago. One to take seriously switched to hurdling. Irish point winner; close second in Chepstow bumper on rules debut; likely contender. |

2nd (1) (18/1 +45%) Baseline |
18/1(+45%) | (1) Baseline 18/1, Pulled up sole start between the flags in April. Given a considerate introduction when a remote fourth in October 2022 and off the track since. Hood on and returns with yard among the winners. Made low-key rules debut over two years ago and has something to prove on comeback. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (8) (6/1 +33%) Sun Art |
6/1(+33%) | (8) Sun Art 6/1, Hooded and positives to draw from his bumper/maiden hurdle runs this autumn but he could be one for further down the line. Showed promise in a bumper and on hurdling debut but needs to learn to settle better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (15/2 +17%) Inishnabro |
15/2(+17%) | (3) Inishnabro 15/2, Half-brother to a couple of winning hurdlers and won by a wide margin on the second of his 2 runs between the flags. Positive start to Rules career when second at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago but bare form is ordinary. No match for winner when second on hurdling debut but improvement is possible. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (13/8 +46%) Le Fauve |
13/8(+46%) | (6) Le Fauve 13/8, Bought for €105,000 after going down by a nose on hurdling debut in France and promising third in Aintree listed event on first run for new yard in December. No show in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham but back on track when runner-up at Newbury in March. Disappointing on return but he's in the right hands. Placed in stronger race than this on seasonal debut at Chepstow; leading contender. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (22/1 -57%) Shan't Wait |
22/1(-57%) | (7) Shan't Wait 22/1, €35,000 3-y-o, fifth foal, half-brother to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler Sea Invasion (21f winner, by Sea Moon): dam 9f-1¾m winner. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Sea Invasion; worth a glance in the betting on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (100/1 -203%) Alexandra Larose |
100/1(-203%) | (10) Alexandra Larose 100/1, Sister to bumper winner/useful 2¾m hurdle winner Shannon Royale. Minor promise on second of 2 starts in bumpers back in the spring for Georgina Nicholls and never dangerous hurdling for new yard. Safely held when making the frame in two bumpers; tailed off when switched to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (2) (80/1 -21%) Classical Sting |
80/1(-21%) | (2) Classical Sting 80/1, Bred to stay well and didn't show much starting out over C&D 18 days ago. Did not achieve much when third of four over C&D on last month's debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (9) (66/1 -136%) Tigers Moon |
66/1(-136%) | (9) Tigers Moon 66/1, Pether's Moon gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Rafferty's Return. Dam (h89), maiden hurdler, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Cairde Aris. Half-brother to useful hurdler Rafferty's Return; makes his debut here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Le Fauve was highly tried as a juvenile but was slightly disappointing when a well-held third on his return at Chepstow in October. A subsequent wind operation may help his chances here, but preference is for JORDANS CROSS. The son of Berkshire won between the flags and filled second place on his Rules debut in a Chepstow bumper. With the benefit of that experience, he could be hard to stop. Law Of The Sea is another with valid form claims.
Having won an Irish point, JORDANS CROSS showed plenty to work on when second in a Chepstow bumper a month ago and he's the most appealing option now hurdling. Le Fauve is a huge threat on the pick of last season's form, with Law of The Sea the type to go on improving over obstacles.
Preference is for Irish point winner JORDANS CROSS, who began his rules career with a good second in a Chepstow bumper last month.

1st (9) (11/1 -22%) Bravo Zulu |
11/1(-22%) | (9) Bravo Zulu 11/1, Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 9/2) 43 days ago. Blinkers enlisted on this debut for new yard and, with his mark continuing on the slide, he's dangerous to discount. Not kicked on in h'caps but down in weights & new yard quick to fit blinkers; interesting. |

2nd (3) (5/2 +25%) Hat Toss |
5/2(+25%) | (3) Hat Toss 5/2, Career best when winning 9-runner handicap (6/1) at Chelmsford City (8f) 26 days ago, slowly away. Clearly at the top of his game and 2 lb rise unlikely to debar another bold show. Won two of his last four and latest Chelmsford win frankled; major claims for in-form yard. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (15/2 -50%) Riot |
15/2(-50%) | (6) Riot 15/2, Good third of 10 in handicap at Chelmsford City (7f, 11/1) 19 days ago, caught further back than ideal. Big player back up in trip here off the same mark. All wins at 7f but has C&D form and ran well at Chelmsford last month. |

5th (12) (22/1 -10%) Enpassant |
22/1(-10%) | (12) Enpassant 22/1, Winner at Leicester in June. Creditable fifth of 10 in handicap (14/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 33 days ago, not ideally placed. Likely to find one or two too good. Fair fifth at Chelmsford latest but up in class and still to prove he needs a mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (11/1 +56%) Rizg |
11/1(+56%) | (8) Rizg 11/1, 18/1 and visored for 1st time, last of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 15 days ago. Connections now roll the dice with a hood. Hat Toss is presumably the stable No 1. Not far behind Newsreader on his penultimate start but failed to build on it last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (4) (33/1 -65%) Bulldog Drummond |
33/1(-65%) | (4) Bulldog Drummond 33/1, Latest win at Newmarket in August. 14/1, fifth of 8 in handicap at Doncaster (6f, soft) 39 days ago. Significantly up in trip and now tried in a first-time visor. Out of form in recent starts and plenty to prove over a mile in new headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (4/1 -14%) Pjanoo |
4/1(-14%) | (1) Pjanoo 4/1, 11/4, good head third of 9 to Hat Toss in handicap at Chelmsford City (8f) 26 days ago. Likely to be in the thick of things once again. Good run after a break when 3rd at Chelmsford last month; form franked; can go well again. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (2) (50/1 +0%) Dayzee |
50/1(+0%) | (2) Dayzee 50/1, Unreliable type. First run since leaving Barry Brennan when refusing to race in handicap at Newmarket (10f, good, 40/1) 73 days ago. Caution advised. Refused to race at Newmarket on stable debut in September; can't be recommended after that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (11/2 +0%) Newsreader |
11/2(+0%) | (5) Newsreader 11/2, Three wins from 6 runs this year. Career best when winning 14-runner handicap (5/1) at Kempton (7f) 27 days ago. More needed up 3 lb but hard to knock a 3-5 record on the AW and he merits respect. Cosy win at Kempton (7f) last month; should stay a mile and he still looks well treated. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (9/2 +50%) Charencey |
9/2(+50%) | (10) Charencey 9/2, Latest win at Doncaster in July. 5/1, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 15 days ago. Live each-way contender. Two 7f wins on turf this summer; solid 3rd on AW latest; yet to totally convince at a mile. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (7) (125/1 -150%) Cill Mocheallog |
125/1(-150%) | (7) Cill Mocheallog 125/1, Lightly-raced winner. Eighth of 9 in handicap (80/1) at this course (7f, AW) 20 days ago. Hood on 1st time and needs to raise his game. Well held in two 7f runs for Dean Ivory this autumn; now hooded but still easy to swerve. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HAT TOSS opened his account on the all-weather with a victory Chelmsford last month. An apprentice's allowance negates a 2lb rise and there looks more to come from James Owen's charge on this surface. Pjanoo (third) was beaten lees than a length behind the selection and can have a say in the outcome, while Newsreader has won three times over 7f at Kempton and looks worth another try over 1m.
This looks competitive, with several appealing candidates to choose from. RIOT could be the answer having again left the impression that his turn is near when a close third at Chelmsford. The 7-y-o remains 2 lb below his last winning mark and the return to a mile looks a good move. Bravo Zulu has been given a chance by the handicapper and is of interest tried in blinkers for his new yard, while there wasn't much to choose between Hat Toss and Pjanoo last time and they should both be in the mix.
Newsreader and Hat Toss are much respected but BRAVO ZULU starts out for a new yard off a reduced mark and blinkers could help.

KARAFON looks the pick of the Willie Mullins runners on jockey bookings and was the subject of a favourable report from the trainer in a stable tour. The fact that this French import started his Irish career off with a fifth place in a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown last Christmas shows the regard he is held in. Lady Rose Hackett is going the right way in three runs for Henry de Bromhead and a first-time hood is tried on her. Karamoja is another Mullins representative and this Masked Marvel filly ought to make an impact, while Sheer Raz is well worth a market check on track debut for Gavin Cromwell. Mullins' Funiculi Funicula lurks among the reserves and would be a contender if getting a run.
KARAFON was an excellent fifth starting out for this yard when stepped up to Grade 2 level at Leopardstown when last seen on Boxing Day and shades the vote over his new stablemate Karamoja, who showed plenty of ability in France. Lady Rose Hackett should be in the mix again.
KARAFON(nap) can take this if repeating the form of his Leopardstown Grade 2 fifth place when last seen.

10/3(-67%) | (3) Disguisedlimit 10/3, €70,000 3-y-o, £150,000 5-y-o, Mahler gelding. Won sole start in Irish points (Apr 20) and showed some promise despite being beaten a long way in the end when third on hurdles bow at Chepstow 4 weeks ago. Hooded. Point winner; went off too hard on hurdling debut; hood may help him to settle here. |

3rd (9) (4/1 +71%) Tramuntana |
4/1(+71%) | (9) Tramuntana 4/1, Perfect start in 3-runner newcomers bumper at Fakenham a year ago but well held both starts since, though was ridden very much with an eye on the future on hurdles bow at Stratford on return. Won a three-runner bumper last season but was safely held on hurdling debut in October. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (125/1 +0%) Tottenham Green |
125/1(+0%) | (8) Tottenham Green 125/1, Maiden Irish pointer who offered little in novice hurdle at this C&D on Rules debut. Tailed-off 66-1 shot over C&D on stable/hurdle debut at week ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (25/1 -39%) Most Wanted |
25/1(-39%) | (6) Most Wanted 25/1, Fairly useful form on Flat, placed all 4 starts up to 1¼m for Andrew Kinirons. Far too headstrong to last home sent hurdling after 16 months off at Kempton 3 weeks ago and needs to settle down. Quite useful on the Flat in Ireland and shaped with promise on recent stable/hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (7) (40/1 -60%) Portcammon |
40/1(-60%) | (7) Portcammon 40/1, Landed the odds in good style in a Roscommon bumper for Willie Mullins last year. Has failed to build on that since, however. including when well held on debut for this yard at Newbury last month. Bumper winner for Willie Mullins in 2023 but struggled on recent stable debut. |

|F| (5) (11/1 -10%) Kingsley |
11/1(-10%) | (5) Kingsley 11/1, €86,000 half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Fest Deiz and fair hurdler/chase winner Gerard Mentor. Nearer last than first on his introduction in a Worcester bumper but he nevertheless offered something to work on and may leave that behind now switched to hurdles. Only beaten about 12l when eighth in Worcester bumper in October but needs to improve here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (18/1 +10%) Kalahari King |
18/1(+10%) | (4) Kalahari King 18/1, Well held in a couple of bumpers but showed a bit sent hurdling after 9 months off when third at Ffos Las last month. Related to connections' smart hurdler/high-class chaser up to 23f Kalashnikov so may do better. Headgear on. Made just a mildly encouraging hurdle debut when well-held third at Ffos Las last month. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
DISGUISEDLIMIT may have been well held when filling third place on his Rules debut at Chepstow last month, but that was a competitive event and the former point-to-point winner should be capable of going well in this company. Daytime Dreaming may prove to be the main threat following his encouraging effort at Uttoxeter in October, while any market support for Bank On Frank would have to be noted.
DAYTIME DREAMING's hurdling debut form is working out well and this looks a winnable maiden for him. Most Wanted was too fresh on his belated comeback/hurdling debut at Kempton but he was fairly useful on the Flat for his previous yard so isn't taken lightly with that run under his belt, with newcomer Bank On Frank another to note.
Disguisedlimit can improve if more relaxed this time but a safer option is DAYTIME DREAMING, who shaped well on his hurdling debut.

11th (9) (20/1 -67%) Corsican Caper |
20/1(-67%) | (9) Corsican Caper 20/1, 5 wins from 18 runs this year. Latest win at Chester in September. 12/1, creditable third of 10 in handicap at Nottingham (16f, heavy) 27 days ago. Placed at Nottingham last time and he's not ruled out on this return to AW. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
A C&D winner around this time last year, WESTERN STARS is still on a winning mark and has nothing to fear from stepping back up in trip after going in over 1m6f at Wolverhampton last month. He gets the vote over Corsican Caper, who is another with a solid chance back on the all-weather. Poncho still has plenty of scope for improvement on the Flat and is also respected.
WESTERN STARS resumed winning ways with a bit in hand at Wolverhampton last month so must hold every chance off 2 lb higher. C'mon Kenny only just failed when back to form at Kempton so is next best ahead of Le Rouge Chinois.
A competitive race in which the vote goes to C'MON KENNY, who got back on track with a near-miss at Kempton in October.

There was a lot to like about ARDFERT MARY's runner-up spot over a similar trip in Gowran Park last month. John Ryan's mare came home well after the third-last hurdle and was clear of the remainder. Philip Rothwell and Tiernan Power Roche have been plundering plenty of winners and Duffys Hodey is another leading contender. This seven-year-old gelding ran his best race to date when getting up for second over a shorter trip in Tipperary. Ryan also has Love Like This who posted a runner-up berth in a higher grade at Thurles which reads well in the context of this race. This trip shouldn't inconvenience her.
RESTLESS SON shaped well on his recent Limerick reappearance and is given a chance to build on that promise with this longer trip likely to suit. Ardfert Mary, Duffys Hodey and Love Like all arrive on the back of good runner-up efforts and head the dangers.
Philip Rothwell's run of form may continue courtesy of DUFFYS HODEY who made a fine start to the season when second at Tipperary.

1st (6) (1/1 +43%) Mr Hope Street |
1/1(+43%) | (6) Mr Hope Street 1/1, Progressive in handicaps over 2½m, winning twice in the spring and clear with another improver when second back from a 5-month break at Carlisle in October. Leading claims now stepping up to 3m for the first time. Has done well in 2m4f handicaps; should stay this sharp 3m and give it a good shot. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (13/2 -44%) Toonagh Warrior |
13/2(-44%) | (3) Toonagh Warrior 13/2, Wetherby novice winner last November and mostly creditable efforts in defeat in handicaps since, notably when second over 20.5f here in first-time cheekpieces (retained) 18 days ago. Big player if his stamina holds now going up in trip again. Consistent if vulnerable in handicaps at up to 2m4f; not sure to want 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -29%) Craven Bay |
9/2(-29%) | (1) Craven Bay 9/2, Very much on the up for his new yard, making it 3 wins in his 4 starts when seeing off 5 rivals at Kempton (3m, good to soft) last Monday. A 7 lb penalty demands more but further progress can't be discounted in his current mood. Progressive stayer; eased away at Kempton (3m) to make it 3-4 for this yard; penalised. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (8/1 +20%) Burrows Hall |
8/1(+20%) | (8) Burrows Hall 8/1, Fair winning hurdler at up to 25f. Made a solid start to his chase career after a break when third over 19f at Sedgefield last month. Ought to be competitive back in this sphere. Improved to win over 3m1f in February; should have more to come at this trip over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (7) (10/1 -33%) Tzarmix |
10/1(-33%) | (7) Tzarmix 10/1, Lightly-raced 6-y-o who landed a Chepstow novice for Sam Thomas back in March 2023. Has drawn a blank in handicaps for this yard since but latest 3m Wetherby third was creditable. The tongue tie and cheekpieces he's worn on his last 4 starts are left off. Consistent without progressing in staying handicaps of late; probably needs extra push. |

|PU| (2) (18/1 -50%) Space Voyage |
18/1(-50%) | (2) Space Voyage 18/1, Bounced back to form to win a 2½m Perth handicap in April and made a respectable return from 6 months off when sixth of 12 at Wincanton (21f) 24 days ago. No surprise were she to go well having dipped to the mark she defied at Perth. Looked to have share of weight since 2m4f win in April and minor form at 3m previously. |

|PU| (5) (22/1 -57%) Tribal Glory |
22/1(-57%) | (5) Tribal Glory 22/1, Point winner who landed a Worcester bumper last summer. Filled the runner-up spot in Newton Abbot maidens on first 2 starts over hurdles but made an underwhelming start to his handicap career at Market Rasen 19 days ago. Up in trip. Should be capable of better in handicaps but stamina to prove upped to 3m. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (4) (50/1 -52%) Farmer's Gamble |
50/1(-52%) | (4) Farmer's Gamble 50/1, Exeter handicap hurdle winner in February 2023 but has found life tough since, pulling up back hurdling at Newbury when last seen in March. Mr Hope Street looks very much the yard first string unless the betting strongly hints otherwise. Latest staying win in early 2023; nothing comparable since; revival possible off good mark. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
The progressive Craven Bay regained the winning thread when drawing clear of his rivals at Kempton eight days ago. However, a 7lb penalty and quick turnaround may be enough to weigh him down and MR HOPE STREET makes slightly more appeal up in distance. The son of Jet Away arrives on the back of a solid second and this first attempt over 3m may see him back in the winner's enclosure. Space Voyage may fare best of the remainder.
MR HOPE STREET is taken to continue his improvement now moving up to 3m for the first time. Toonagh Warrior is another stepping up in distance and will be a threat if his stamina holds. Craven Bay isn't obviously well treated under a 7 lb penalty but should also have a part to play in his current vein of form.
Craven Bay and Mr Hope Street are respected but BURROWS HALL is preferred from the bottom of the weights.

3/1(+75%) | (7) Kaaranah 3/1, Won over 1m on AW last autumn. Creditable fifth of 10 in handicap at Lingfield (1m) when last seen in March. Feasibly treated but peak fitness isn't assured after 8 months off. Has been off since March, when again doing his best work late, over 1m on Lingfield AW.. |

4th (12) (7/2 +42%) Falcon Nine |
7/2(+42%) | (12) Falcon Nine 7/2, Respectable fourth of 10 in handicap (13/2) at this course (1m) 26 days ago. Up in trip. Merits consideration. 14-race maiden but looks to be crying out for this step back up in trip.. |

5th (10) (28/1 -155%) Lake Teo |
28/1(-155%) | (10) Lake Teo 28/1, Fair form over the summer but has struggled on her last 2 outings. Needs a switch to AW to help spark a revival. Seven-race maiden; never better than midfield on AW debut at Chelmsford last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (6/1 -140%) Prince Achille |
6/1(-140%) | (6) Prince Achille 6/1, Four-time C&D winner, the latest when getting on top towards the finish 10 days ago. Should go well again. Produced a career best to land his fourth C&D success ten days ago.. |

7th (9) (14/1 +65%) Blue Sky Boy |
14/1(+65%) | (9) Blue Sky Boy 14/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 200/1, eighth of 12 in novice at Kempton (1m) 50 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap debut. Well held in two starts for current yard; steps up in trip on handicap debut.. |

8th (2) (33/1 -32%) Highwaygrey |
33/1(-32%) | (2) Highwaygrey 33/1, C&D winner. Tongue strap on first time, fifth of 7 in C&D handicap (25/1) 32 days ago, very slowly away. Likes to come from off a strong pace but hasn't threatened in recent starts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (28/1 -27%) It's A Love Thing |
28/1(-27%) | (4) It's A Love Thing 28/1, C&D winner but has failed to beat a rival on his last 3 outings. Would need to see market support to consider. Previous C&D winner but has failed to beat a rival on his last three starts.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (5) (18/1 -157%) Percy Willis |
18/1(-157%) | (5) Percy Willis 18/1, Course winner who got his head back in front when dead-heating at Wolverhampton 17 days ago. Should remain competitive after a 2 lb nudge. Recorded his sixth AW success when dead-heating at Wolverhampton last month.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (33/1 -65%) Sense Of Worth |
33/1(-65%) | (3) Sense Of Worth 33/1, Respectable sixth of 10 over C&D when last seen in May. Capable off this mark but chance he'll need this after a break. Placed four times on Tapeta this year and returns from a break.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
PRINCE ACHILLE returned to winning ways over C&D 10 days ago and the five-year-old has to be of interest off just a 3lb higher mark here. That said, Percy Willis is an obvious threat after dead-heating for the win over 1m4f at Wolverhampton last time, while Falcon Nine edges out Orbital and Urban Road to be the pick of the remainder.
Perhaps PRINCE ACHILLE can defy the handicapper and land another C&D win. Orbital has a pretty solid overall AW record and is second choice ahead of Falcon Nine and the selection's stablemate Percy Willis.
The Prescott-trained ORBITAL had excuses for her last two defeats and still looks well handicapped. Prince Achille is next best.

6/5(+52%) | (4) Santorini Star 6/5, Twice-raced winner. 7/4, won 4-runner novice at Kempton (8f) 29 days ago. Up in trip for this handicap debut and likely to continue to progress for her top yard. Kempton winner who has lots of scope for further progress upped to 1m2f on handicap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (11/1 +0%) Epsom Faithfull |
11/1(+0%) | (3) Epsom Faithfull 11/1, Four-time course winner. 3 wins from 10 runs this year. 100/1, won 9-runner handicap at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago, kept up to work. 3 lb rise fair enough and couldn't rule out, for all that this looks tougher. Turned things around with shock win at 100-1 over C&D latest; up 3lb for that cosy success. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (10/1 -25%) Pasha |
10/1(-25%) | (2) Pasha 10/1, Winner at Nottingham in August. Tongue strap on for 1st time, excellent fourth of 9 in handicap (18/1) at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago. Not taken lightly. Lightly raced 3yo who was an eyecatcher when upped to 1m2f here last time; in the mix. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (9) (14/1 -133%) Hebridean Nomad |
14/1(-133%) | (9) Hebridean Nomad 14/1, Promising sort. Won 11-runner novice (7/2) at Kempton (8f) when last seen 14 months ago. Subsequent absence naturally a concern but in good hands to progress now upped in trip for this handicap debut. Unexposed 3yo who won at Kempton (1m) and is open to more progress on handicap debut. |

5th (7) (14/1 -56%) Tribal Wisdom |
14/1(-56%) | (7) Tribal Wisdom 14/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 14 runs this year, the latest at Wolverhampton in October. Creditable fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 11/4) 22 days ago. Not without each-way hope. Triple AW winner who is in good form and has claims if he gets a good pace and some luck. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (11) (11/2 +15%) Obsidian Knight |
11/2(+15%) | (11) Obsidian Knight 11/2, 6/4, won 11-runner handicap at this C&D (AW) 20 days ago, despite not being ideally placed. That was his third C&D success but a clear personal best will be needed if he's to record a fourth in this contest. Made it 5-17 on AW with a last-gasp win over C&D latest; up 3lb but he's respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (50/1 -150%) Bold Ribb |
50/1(-150%) | (5) Bold Ribb 50/1, C&D winner. 10/1, 6¼ lengths eighth of 9 to Epsom Faithfull in handicap at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago. Clearly has work to do. Has had only two runs this year and he's finished in rear in both of them; down the list. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (8) (22/1 +12%) Saturnalia |
22/1(+12%) | (8) Saturnalia 22/1, Course winner. First run since leaving Richard Hughes when sixth of 9 in handicap (28/1) at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago. Looks vulnerable. Last win was 16 months ago but he's generally reliable and shouldn't be far away. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (50/1 -52%) Imperial Fighter |
50/1(-52%) | (1) Imperial Fighter 50/1, Eighteen runs since last win in 2021. Ninth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (8.1f, 40/1) 12 days ago, slowly away. Up in trip for this polytrack debut and tongue strap back on. Something to find on form. 0-18 since his debut win in July 2021 and has form figures of 000809 this year. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (6) (11/1 +67%) Giselles Defence |
11/1(+67%) | (6) Giselles Defence 11/1, Three wins from 12 runs this year, the latest at Newbury in July. Respectable seventh of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 66/1) 17 days ago, not clear run. Others preferred. Disappointing on the Flat and over hurdles since his Newbury win in July; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (6/1 +25%) Timetobenice |
6/1(+25%) | (10) Timetobenice 6/1, Good fourth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 9/1) 22 days ago. 1 lb lower here and he has to enter calculations. Had some traffic issues when close fourth at Wolverhampton on recent return; possibilities. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
SANTORINI STAR, who was runner-up to a useful prospect on her debut at Southwell in October, showed she learned from the experience when getting off the mark with a power-packed finish over 1m at Kempton last month. With the likelihood of more to come over this longer trip, she gets the vote with an opening handicap mark of 77 deemed workable. Fellow last-time-out winners Obsidian Knight and Epsom Faithfull are other strong contenders.
PASHA and Timetobenice both caught the eye last time out and, despite the presence of two unexposed types from top yards in Santorini Star and Hebridean Nomad, they could be the pair to concentrate on. Pasha is marginally preferred having shaped well all things considered upped to this trip on her all-weather debut here a fortnight ago. Santorini Star got the better of an odds-on Godolphin filly in a 4-runner Kempton novice last month and she is third choice.
This is competitive but the most striking contenders are the twice-raced handicap newcomers Hebridean Nomad and SANTORINI STAR.

1st (1) (10/3 +33%) Lazer Wolf |
10/3(+33%) | (1) Lazer Wolf 10/3, Fairly useful winner at 16f over hurdles. Encouraging fifth of 10 in novice chase (13/2) at Punchestown (16.6f, good) 18 days ago. More to offer now going into handicaps so he's a player. Maiden hurdle winner was solid in a Punchestown novice last time and looks a player. |

2nd (7) (9/2 -13%) Cheerful Chap |
9/2(-13%) | (7) Cheerful Chap 9/2, Fairly useful winner at 21f over hurdles. 11/8, respectable third of 9 in handicap chase at Tramore (15.5f, good to soft). Off 6 months. Triple hurdle winner ran well over fences when last seen and has to repeat that on return. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (3) (10/1 +60%) Drop The Anchor |
10/1(+60%) | (3) Drop The Anchor 10/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. Fairly useful winner at 16f on flat. Twelfth of 13 in novice chase (125/1) at Wexford (16f, heavy) 36 days ago. Makes handicap chase debut. Useful dual-purpose sort was beaten a long way in three novice chases but can do better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (25/1 -79%) Danny The Fence |
25/1(-79%) | (11) Danny The Fence 25/1, Modest winner at 24f over hurdles. 15/2, seventh of 11 in handicap chase at Down Royal (26.2f, good to soft). Off 7 months. Significantly back down in trip. Hurdle winner ran well enough on second chase start when last seen; needs more on return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (8/1 -14%) Don't Talk |
8/1(-14%) | (10) Don't Talk 8/1, Fair winner at 21f over hurdles. 9/1, good second of 16 in handicap chase at Down Royal (20f, good to soft). Off 7 months but needs considering. Dual hurdle winner was just denied over fences when last seen; needs to be ready on return. |

12th (12) (15/2 +6%) Ishan |
15/2(+6%) | (12) Ishan 15/2, Highly promising type. 4/1, fourth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Thurles (23.7f, soft) 9 months ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Down in trip. Merits consideration. Triple hurdle winner hasn't run over fences for a long time but is well-in if ready. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
CHEERFUL CHAP has been off since May, but has gone well fresh before. He was in good form in the first half of the year as he clocked up victories over flights at Naas and Ballinrobe. He was also placed in Cork, and when last seen over fences at Tramore. One Last Tango was decent over hurdles and has been learning his trade in a couple of beginners chases at Galway and in a rated novice chase in Naas. Similar sentiments apply to Lazer Wolf, who won over flights at Limerick in March, as he is very much unexposed over fences. Stablemates Mighty Oak Lad and Danny The Fence will have their backers in addition to Ishan.
LAZER WOLF looks ready to take a step forward now he goes into handicaps so gets the vote in this very open event. Kilashee wasn't seen to best effect when last at Fairyhouse only two days ago and appeals as the sort to bounce back. Both Ishan and Mighty Oak Lad return from absences but have more to offer and warrant plenty of respect.
ONE LAST TANGO and Lazer Wolf are of interest after showing glimpses in beginners' chases, with preference for the former.

1st (16) (20/1 +0%) Miss Applejack |
20/1(+0%) | (16) Miss Applejack 20/1, A fair bumper winner but she's yet to score in this sphere (0-9 over hurdles) and hopes now pinned on the first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap helping to spark improvement. Bumper winner; poor over hurdles; tongue-tie and cheekpieces now tried; 2lb out the h'cap. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 +33%) Skiffle Man |
3/1(+33%) | (7) Skiffle Man 3/1, Midfield at best in his qualifying runs but has hinted at promise and will likely come into his own now upped in trip on handicap debut for his top stable. Sports first-time cheekpieces/tongue strap and it'll be interesting to see if support arrives for this 5-y-o. Well beaten in 3 novice hurdles; may fare better with headgear up in trip on h'cap debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (22/1 +12%) Moor End |
22/1(+12%) | (6) Moor End 22/1, Didn't shape at all badly when third on debut in a bumper here in February. Has failed to trouble the judge in 2 completed starts over hurdles but it wouldn't be a surprise were he to show himself in a better light now handicapping. One to note in the betting. 100-1 third in a bumper on debut; ordinary form over hurdles so far; probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (13) (9/1 -38%) Well Done Dani |
9/1(-38%) | (13) Well Done Dani 9/1, Landed a 14-runner handicap hurdle at Kelso (2¼m, good) in September that produced winners and nothing wrong with a brace of placed efforts since. Likely to be in the mix once again. Has won 3 over hurdles, latest in September; good 2nd latest; acts on good to soft; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (14) (25/1 -25%) Parish Star |
25/1(-25%) | (14) Parish Star 25/1, Modest form on the Flat in Ireland and made little impact over hurdles last season. Showed some spark following a wind op when fourth of 15 back from an 8-month break at (2½m, good to soft), finishing under a length adrift of Kingoftheswingerz. More will be needed if she's to take this, though. 12-race maiden; good run when back after wind op when 2nd last time; worth considering. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (20/1 -82%) Aquitaine Boy |
20/1(-82%) | (4) Aquitaine Boy 20/1, Little impact in various race-types for James Ewart but, back from nearly 3 years off, he belied odds of 40/1 when making a winning start for this yard in a 15.8f novice here (good) in May. Had fortune on his side that day but it was a significant step forward all the same and he needs considering. Won Southwell maiden hurdle in June (form sound); back up in trip; solid chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (7/2 +65%) Glimpse Of Glory |
7/2(+65%) | (3) Glimpse Of Glory 7/2, Shaped with promise when placed in a couple of juvenile events during the spring, following which he was a good second to a progressive type on handicap debut at Southwell (15.8f, soft) in June. Has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts but it's still early days for this 4-y-o. Considered. Placed in 2 juvenile events and 2nd on h'cap debut but not at his best last twice. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (12/1 -50%) Kingoftheswingerz |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Kingoftheswingerz 12/1, Went the wrong way in second half of last season but back on track following a wind op with a tongue strap enlisted when second in a 15-runner Ffos Las handicap (2½m, good to soft) last month. Should be on the premises here, provided he is able to build on that effort. 0-7 over hurdles but good second at Ffos Las on reappearance; should come on for that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (6/1 +25%) Let's Sail Away |
6/1(+25%) | (1) Let's Sail Away 6/1, Winner of sole start between the flags last December. Best effort of his 3 under Rules so far was when fourth of 13 in a Uttoxeter maiden (15.7f, heavy) but not so good either side of that and his attitude doesn't appear to be all it could be. Step forward needed on this handicap bow. UK point winner; fair form over hurdles; interesting up in trip on handicap debut; player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (10/1 +0%) Pacific |
10/1(+0%) | (11) Pacific 10/1, Showed ability in maiden/novice company and sound start to handicap career when third in 2½m Hereford mares' event on return in October. Failed to build on that at Warwick (2m, good) next time but eased 2 lb since and perhaps worth another chance now that she steps back up in trip. Second in a Stratford novice in June; fair runs in two handicaps since; each-way chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (2) (11/1 +0%) Star Legend |
11/1(+0%) | (2) Star Legend 11/1, Runner-up twice over hurdles in June and also performed with credit when fourth at Stratford the following month. However, he proved a let-down back hurdling in a Huntingdon selling handicap 3 weeks ago and while this step back up in trip is no bad thing, others make more appeal. Maiden hurdle winner last November; some fair form since; poor run latest; bit to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (40/1 +0%) Mr Mahler |
40/1(+0%) | (9) Mr Mahler 40/1, Hasn't cut much ice in 2 starts since switched to handicaps and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Point second in March 2022; not shown much since, including in 2 handicaps; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (10) (80/1 -60%) Pop The Question |
80/1(-60%) | (10) Pop The Question 80/1, Winning pointer who caused something of a surprise when making a successful debut under Rules in 2½m Hexham maiden in June. However, that was a weak race and she's had her limitations exposed since. Now tried in a tongue strap. Won maiden point in May and maiden hurdle in June; not done as well since; more needed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
14th (8) (40/1 -150%) Military Tycoon |
40/1(-150%) | (8) Military Tycoon 40/1, Fairly useful Flat winner but below par both starts on the level this year and offered little on last month's reappearance/handicap debut in this sphere. Ex-Hugo Palmer; 1m6f Flat winner; disappointing for this yard and plenty to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (15) (28/1 +44%) Deal Em High |
28/1(+44%) | (15) Deal Em High 28/1, Returned to form when third in first-time cheekpieces and tongue strap at Bangor (16.7f, good) in September. However, the headgear (on again here) failed to work equally well second time round at Exeter and he is hard to warm to on the back of that. Inconsistent; good third with headgear at Bangor in September but poor run last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (12) (100/1 -52%) Montys Rock |
100/1(-52%) | (12) Montys Rock 100/1, Reached the frame in maiden hurdles in Ireland for Eoin Doyle but has shown nothing in a trio of handicaps for new connections. Readily passed over. Fair form in Ireland; not shown much in handicaps for new yard and best watched for now. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Kingoftheswingerz offered a lot more encouragement when second on his seasonal debut at Ffos Las last month and a 1lb rise shouldn't prevent another good account. That said, there are some interesting handicap debutants that may have his measure in point-to-point winner Let's Sail Away and SKIFFLE MAN, with marginal preference for the latter. The Dan Skelton-trained gelding is a full-brother to the useful stayer Tim Pat and this step up in distance could pay dividends.
It's likely that SKIFFLE MAN will leave his low-key novice efforts well behind now faced with a stiffer test and sent handicapping off an opening mark that probably underestimates him. The hint should be taken if the market speaks in his favour. While Aquitaine Boy probably would've finished second had the eventual runner-up not hit the final flight here in May, it was a much-improved effort whichever way you look at it and he is next best ahead of Glimpse of Glory and Pacific.
The lightly raced AQUITAINE BOY (nap) is taken to win his second race here with the step up to 2m4f expected to suit him.

28/1(+15%) | (6) Sir Geoff Hurst 28/1, Comfortably held in 2 AW outings last November. It's of some interest that his good stable has persevered with him but he can only really be watched this time. Didn't cut the mustard in two AW starts as a juvenile and has a lot on his plate.. |

Not seen since and Kieran Shoemark on yard's other runner but still makes appeal. Made encouraging debut when fourth in Wolverhampton maiden in April but off since.. |

Lasting Love arrives here with strong form claims but she has had plenty of chances already, while similar comments apply to Steel Tiger. With that in mind, preference is for FIREBLADE, who finished second in a pair of competitive turf events in October and the first-time application of blinkers can see the son of Frankel go one better here. Roland Garros showed some promise on his racecourse bow in April and is another to note.
Although ROLAND GARROS has been off since his debut in April that was a promising effort and he's taken to improve past his stablemate Fireblade. Steel Tiger and Lasting Love are starting to look exposed but have the form to be bang there.
The Gosden-trained FIREBLADE appears to have an ideal opportunity to get off the mark. Lasting Love is second choice.

1st (5) (12/1 +25%) Sovereign Knight |
12/1(+25%) | (5) Sovereign Knight 12/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Chelmsford City in August. 20/1 and blinkered for 1st time, eighth of 9 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 35 days ago. Cheekpieces back on. Others more persuasive. C&D winner in February; on a fair mark but needs to bounce back from two poor runs. |

2nd (6) (7/2 +50%) Whats In The Bag |
7/2(+50%) | (6) Whats In The Bag 7/2, Seventh of 9 in handicap (9/4) at Southwell (5f) 21 days ago. Perhaps that race may have come too soon on the back of his comeback spin at Yarmouth in October and he's certainly not one to give up on. Promising return from a long absence in October (stable debut); disappointed last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (4/1 +50%) Tyger Bay |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Tyger Bay 4/1, Three-time C&D winner. 7/1, respectable fifth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 14 days ago, left poorly placed. Likely to find one or two too good. Kept on well for fifth over C&D latest and a 2lb drop looks generous; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (8) (18/1 -125%) Hierarchy |
18/1(-125%) | (8) Hierarchy 18/1, Thirteen runs since last win in 2023. Fourth of 6 in handicap at Chelmsford City (6f, 11/2) 26 days ago, left poorly placed. Each-way claims. 0-11 this year but retains ability and mark continues to fall; opposable for the win. |

5th (1) (7/2 -27%) One More Wave |
7/2(-27%) | (1) One More Wave 7/2, Won 9-runner handicap at Southwell (5f, 11/4) 15 days ago. Back up in trip and he has to be taken seriously. Recent 5f win franked by the runner-up; return to 6f no issue; leading claims up 4lb. |

6th (12) (18/1 -140%) Four Adaay |
18/1(-140%) | (12) Four Adaay 18/1, Course winner. Latest win at Sandown in September. Creditable fifth of 10 in handicap (9/1) at Wolverhampton (5.1f) 18 days ago. Looks competitive on form. 3-8 on AW including two course wins; fair run at Wolverhampton latest; more needed to win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (2) (7/1 +13%) Mart |
7/1(+13%) | (2) Mart 7/1, C&D winner. 3 wins from 15 runs this year, the latest at Brighton in September. 9/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7.2f) 15 days ago. Back to a potentially lenient mark, so not completely ruled out. Patchy record in recent starts; return to 6f a positive but there are risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (3) (12/1 -85%) Bluebells Boy |
12/1(-85%) | (3) Bluebells Boy 12/1, C&D winner. 5 wins from 18 runs this year. Respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at this C&D (AW, 9/1) 14 days ago, better placed than most. Place possibilities. Five wins this year but up in the weights as a result; minor money perhaps his best hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (4) (12/1 +76%) Tyke |
12/1(+76%) | (4) Tyke 12/1, Latest win at Doncaster in May. Last of 10 in handicap (40/1) at Chelmsford City (7f) 19 days ago. Readily passed over. On a winning mark and drops in trip/class today; not a solid option all the same. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (11) (100/1 -150%) Liv My Life |
100/1(-150%) | (11) Liv My Life 100/1, 125/1, first run since leaving Richard Hannon when last of 9 in handicap at Newmarket (7f, heavy) 31 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. Two wins as a 2yo but well held in 2024, including on last month's stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (10) (33/1 -175%) Lihou |
33/1(-175%) | (10) Lihou 33/1, Course winner. Latest win at Leicester in August. Bit below form seventh of 12 in handicap (12/1) at Chester (5.5f, soft) 73 days ago. This 8-y-o looks vulnerable from a win point of view. Prolific winner down the years and well drawn but likely to face competition for the lead. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (9) (11/1 +45%) Temple Bruer |
11/1(+45%) | (9) Temple Bruer 11/1, 28/1, seventh of 10 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 40 days ago. Cheekpieces back on and has slipped to a workable mark but others preferred all the same. Should be well treated but most recent efforts don't suggest he's ready to strike. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
With the speedy Lihou and Bluebells Boy drawn handily on the inside, this is likely to be run at a strong tempo. While those two are highly respected, that scenario could play straight into the hands of HIERARCHY, who has proven to be at his best when he has something to aim at and could have the race teed up nicely here. Southwell 5f winner One More Wave also needs a betting check.
The return to this trip will suit ONE MORE WAVE, who got on top in the shadow of the post when landing a 5f Southwell handicap last time and a 4 lb rise looks manageable. Four Adaay didn't do much wrong when fifth at Wolverhampton recently and another good run is on the cards. She is feared most ahead of Whats In The Bag, who is given another chance to build on his encouraging comeback spin at Yarmouth, and Mart.
One More Wave is the solid option but the well-handicapped TYGER BAY shaped nicely last time and could take a step forward.

6/1(-20%) | (2) Bleu D'enfer 6/1, Fairly useful chaser. 6/1, respectable fourth of 9 in handicap chase at Down Royal (24f, good to soft) 31 days ago. Back down in trip and not ruled out. Last month's handicap chase fourth was achieved over 3m, this trip may prove inadequate. |

40/1(-150%) | (8) Oneforgonzo 40/1, Fair hurdler. Latest win in hurdle at Ballinrobe in April. Below form ninth of 16 in handicap hurdle at Tipperary (24f, good to soft, 4/1). Off 6 months. The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BLEU D'ENFER is entitled to come on from his fourth place over a staying trip at Down Royal last month. That was his first outing for more than six months and the form received a hefty boost when the winner followed up in the Porterstown at Fairyhouse on Sunday. Champagne Mahler would welcome plenty of rain, but he does have a notable third in a beginners' chase at Tipperary in the book behind a horse (Pinkerton) that went on to win the Galway Plate. Undeniable Alibi is likely to progress from an opening fourth over fences at Punchestown in November, while Kiltealy Park won twice over the smaller obstacles and has her first crack at racecourse fences.
Not as competitive as the numbers suggest and UNDENIABLE ALIBI is fancied to build on his promising chasing debut fourth at Punchestown and get off the mark in this sphere. Bleu d'Enfer also has the form to play a part, while Starman and Champagne Mahler also enter calculations.
Course maiden hurdle winner UNDENIABLE ALIBI just makes the cut on the stipulated 116 hurdle-rating maximum and can take advantage

9th (9) (66/1 -200%) Warrnambool |
66/1(-200%) | (9) Warrnambool 66/1, Fair form when 6 lengths third on 7f debut and possibly failed to stay 1¼m when well beaten at Lingfield since. Beaten 6l into third over 7f at Kempton and double that distance over 1m2f at Lingfield. |

10th (8) (14/1 -75%) Triple Double A |
14/1(-75%) | (8) Triple Double A 14/1, 22/1, ninth of 12 in maiden at Kempton (7f) on debut 13 days ago, nearest finish. Open to progress. Did plenty wrong when beaten about 8l at Kempton (7f), starting slowly and running green. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
FORT GEORGE confirmed the promise that he displayed on debut when narrowly denied over C&D a month ago and Ed Walker's colt clearly sets the standard based on that evidence. Ashmolean is the second foal out of the dual Group 1 winner Coronet and he has to be of interest on his racecourse bow, while Gunship is a half-brother to Phoenix Of Spain and is another noteworthy debutant.
FORT GEORGE sets a decent standard and should have more to offer so he has to be the call, although a strong market move for well-bred Gosden stable newcomer Ashmolean would make him a possible threat. Merchant could leave his debut form behind and also makes the shortlist.
Fort George sets the standard but a chance is taken on ASHMOLEAN, a Frankel colt who is out of the high-class racemare Coronet.

2/1(+33%) | (4) Reporter 2/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 16/1, third of 4 in novice at Leicester (6f, heavy) 36 days ago. Improvement likely now that he ventures down the nursery route. One to consider. Third in novices on last two starts; 7f should suit; quite interesting on h'cap debut. |

14/1(+58%) | (7) Mrbluesky 14/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 33/1, eleventh of 12 in nursery at Wolverhampton (6.1f) 17 days ago. Has work to do. Third in York seller in June; hasn't run as well since, including on AW/nursery debut.. |

11/4(+8%) | (6) Sherlock 11/4, Lightly-raced maiden. Good second of 12 in nursery at Southwell (7.1f, 85/40) 21 days ago. Up 4 lb for that near miss but he's high on the shortlist nonetheless. Good runs in 7f AW nurseries on last two starts; 4lb higher than latest second; player. |

7th (1) (6/1 -50%) Saxon Raider |
6/1(-50%) | (1) Saxon Raider 6/1, Lightly-raced winner. Successful at Wolverhampton in November. 11/4, bit below form fourth of 8 in nursery at Southwell (7.1f) 15 days ago. Solid chance. Won nursery in good style 2 runs back; went up 8lb; below par next time; could bounce back. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
SHERLOCK found only a progressive rival too strong at Southwell last month and he looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to gain some compensation. A 4lb rise is unlikely to be the ceiling of his ability and Kevin Ryan's charge may open his account. Reporter has offered enough in three novice events to suggest that he can be competitive off an opening mark of 69. The Wootton Bassett colt is feared most, ahead of Saxon Raider.
The return to 7f will suit REPORTER now that he's pitched into a nursery off what could prove to be a very attractive mark. Ed Walker's charge therefore earns the vote ahead of Saxon Raider, who probably wasn't seen to best effect at Southwell recently and remains of interest. Sherlock has improved since being gelded/switched to nurseries and he looks sure to be involved, while Kammeel is also worth considering.
Having been gelded after showing improved form at Kempton last time, KAMMEEL is taken to get off the mark on his nursery debut.

22/1(-38%) | (9) Kats Bob 22/1, C&D winner. 18/1 and visored for 1st time, very good fourth of 12 in handicap at this C&D 17 days ago. Needs considering. On a good mark and not beaten far over C&D last month; one of two contenders for the yard. |

9/1(-64%) | (12) Bellagio Man 9/1, C&D winner. Seventeen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable second of 8 in handicap (20/1) at this C&D 11 days ago. Not ruled out. 0-14 this year but good efforts over C&D the last twice; one to take seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (10/1 +38%) Clasina |
10/1(+38%) | (10) Clasina 10/1, 6/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at Musselburgh (7.1f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Others more persuasive. Eight-race maiden for whom the drop to sprinting needs to have a positive effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (6) (11/2 +8%) Glendown |
11/2(+8%) | (6) Glendown 11/2, 7/1, improved on recent efforts to win 10-runner handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 15 days ago. Can go well again. Game effort to win at Southwell two weeks ago (6f); 4lb rise not excessive. |

10th (7) (12/1 -20%) Nelson Gay |
12/1(-20%) | (7) Nelson Gay 12/1, Course winner. Sixteen runs since last win in 2023. Below form sixth of 12 in handicap at this course (5f, 9/1) 10 days ago. Needs to bounce back. Losing run stands at 16; retains ability and now drops into Class 6; probably best at 5f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (1) (8/1 +20%) Golden Duke |
8/1(+20%) | (1) Golden Duke 8/1, Fourteen runs since last win in 2023. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (3/1) 25 days ago, faring best of those held up. Not taken lightly. Conditions to suit and he drops back in class today; a big run looks on the cards. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
Having capitalised on a declining mark at Southwell last time out, Glendown warrants respect. However, a 4lb rise may be enough to thwart the four-year-old in his follow-up bid and BELLAGIO MAN makes slightly more appeal. Antony Brittain's charge arrives on the back of a solid second over C&D and, off an unchanged mark, a fourth victory on the all-weather may be in the offing. Jackson Street and Hk Fourteen are also noted.
Lots with chances. HK FOURTEEN didn't enjoy the rub of the green when fourth to Glendown at Southwell last time and rates just the pick of these weights so edges the vote. Golden Duke heads the list of dangers, although Bellagio Man, Glendown and Phoenix Beach all need factoring in too.
The return to Class 6 company can see GOLDEN DUKE come out on top. Bellagio Man may prove best of the rest.

5th (1) (10/3 -11%) Holy Fire |
10/3(-11%) | (1) Holy Fire 10/3, Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. Creditable fourth of 11 in handicap (16/1) at Wolverhampton (7f) 15 days ago. Considered from a career-low mark. Ran well but had no excuses when fourth over 7f at Wolverhampton; has only won the once. |

6th (2) (16/1 -100%) Wren Officer |
16/1(-100%) | (2) Wren Officer 16/1, Course winner. Three wins from 11 runs this year, the latest at Wolverhampton in October. 13/2, fifth of 7 in handicap at this course (6f) 28 days ago. First-time blinkers replace visor. It was a Class 4 when struggling here last time but all three wins have been at 6f. |

10/1(-25%) | (6) Style Of Life 10/1, Latest win at Thirsk in September. Runner-up on next 2 starts but needs to shrug off a lesser run last time. Reportedly got upset in the preliminaries when below par last time. |

8th (8) (11/1 +45%) Biplane |
11/1(+45%) | (8) Biplane 11/1, C&D winner. Latest win at Ayr in July. 22/1, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (7f) 65 days ago, having to weave through. All wins have come in Class 6s and she's been off for two months. |

9th (3) (9/1 -125%) Lincoln Legacy |
9/1(-125%) | (3) Lincoln Legacy 9/1, Blinkered first time, improved on recent efforts to win 4-runner C&D handicap 25 days ago, rallying. A 2 lb rise shouldn't prevent another prominent showing. Dominated a small field in new blinkers last month but has only gone up 2lb. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
RED MAIDS bounced back to form when landing the spoils over track and trip 17 days ago. A 3lb higher mark looks more than workable dropping into class 5 company and the daughter of Invincible Spirit is fancied to follow up. Fellow last-time-out C&D scorer Lincoln Legacy should remain competitive and isn't taken lightly in retained blinkers. Holy Fire and Dazy Mazy are also worth a second look.
HOLY FIRE has a bit of class for this level and gets the vote. Dazy Mazy returned to form when runner-up over 6f here 17 days ago and is second choice ahead of last-time-out C&D scorer Lincoln Legacy.
A chance is taken on STYLE OF LIFE who had excuses when below par last time. Expect another positive ride back over 7f.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
STRAIGHT A failed to see out the extended mile at Wolverhampton last time, having previously landed a double over this distance, and Mick Appleby's charge looks worthy of another chance off his current mark. Eligible is well treated on previous winning form and finished a creditable fourth in a higher grade at Southwell on his latest start, while Novak arrives in fine fettle and is not easily dismissed.
ELIGIBLE signalled he is ready to strike again when fourth at Southwell last time out and can capitalise on a handy-looking mark now. Tomorrow Day is feared most in his bid for a fourth success of 2024 ahead of Alpine Sierra and Monopolise.
This can go to TOMORROW DAY is unbeaten in three starts here and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the step back up to 7f.

22/1(-10%) | (6) Surprise Picture 22/1, Latest win at Wolverhampton in September. 33/1, creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Southwell (6.1f) 12 days ago. One for the shortlist. Multiple winner on AW/turf but hasn't been operating as he can of late; opposable. |

50/1(-150%) | (7) Distinction 50/1, 4 wins from 15 runs this year. Latest win at Pontefract in July. 16/1, respectable fifth of 12 in handicap at Carlisle (7.8f, good to soft) 83 days ago. Not dismissed. Both AW wins have been at Wolverhampton over 9.4f; rarely seen over 7f these days. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
The progressive Barnaby should remain competitive raised a further 4lb after landing a four-timer, but STARLINER drops in class and makes more appeal. The son of Showcasing made most of the running when successful over course and distance last month and could prove difficult to beat if allowed to set his own pace once again. Angel Of England steps back up in distance with a shout and is preferred to the veteran Bobby Joe Leg of the rest.
BARNABY continues to thrive and is fancied to make light of a 4 lb rise for his recent C&D success and complete a five-timer here. Veteran Bobby Joe Leg also possesses a fine record here and is next on the list with Lahab, Angel of England and Starliner all in the picture too.
There should be a solid pace on here and one that BARNABY (nap) can track en route to a fifth straight win.

33/1(-65%) | (5) Redondo 33/1, C&D winner. Sixth of 7 in handicap (22/1) at this course (10.2f) 22 days ago, missing break. Back down in trip. Blinkers on 1st time. Has work to do. No positives to take from autumn efforts and first-time blinkers need to trigger a revival. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 6 race.
TRAIS FLUORS had plummeted down the handicap since scoring here in January and took advantage on last month's return to this venue. A 3lb rise for that success is unlikely to anchor Linda Perratt's charge and he can go in again. Panama City placed over course and distance on his latest start and could land a blow off the same mark, while Balqaa is only 2lb higher than when winning here in September and may also get involved.
TRAIS FLUORS capitalised on a reduced mark when going in over C&D last time and looks weighted to go close again despite taking a 3 lb rise. Fellow C&D scorer Sandret heads the list of dangers, with Balqaa and Annandale not discounted either.
Despite a 3lb rise, TRAIS FLUORS remains well handicapped on form from even the start of the year.
Ths is the racecard key.

Horse racing is a popular and historic sport in the UK, with a tradition dating back centuries. It is a multi-billion pound industry that attracts millions of spectators each year and generates significant economic activity.
There are two main types of horse racing in the UK: flat racing and jump racing. Flat racing is run on a level course and is typically shorter in distance, while jump racing involves horses jumping over obstacles and is generally longer in distance. Both types of racing are popular with spectators and bettors, and they take place at various racetracks throughout the country.
The most famous horse racing event in the UK is the Grand National, which is held annually at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is a jump racing event that is known for its challenging course and has become a national institution in the UK. Other notable horse racing events in the UK include the Derby, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey, and the Royal Ascot, held at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire.
Horse racing in the UK is regulated by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA), which sets rules and standards for the industry. It is responsible for the welfare of racehorses and the safety of jockeys and trainers, as well as ensuring fair and transparent racing practices.
In addition to its economic and cultural importance, horse racing in the UK also plays a significant role in the breeding and training of thoroughbred horses. Many of the world's top thoroughbreds are bred and trained in the UK, and the industry plays a vital role in the preservation and promotion of the breed.
Overall, horse racing is an integral part of British culture and a major contributor to the country's economy. It is a thrilling and exciting sport that continues to attract a loyal following and generate significant interest from spectators and bettors around the world.
