1st (6) (80/1 +20%) That's About Right |
80/1(+20%) | (6) That's About Right 80/1, Promising sort. 3 wins from 8 runs this season. Fair winner at 22f over hurdles. 22/1, third of 5 in novice chase at this course (22.4f, good) on debut over fences 7 days ago. Open to progress. Remote 3rd to Drumgill in 22.5f beginners' here on chasing bow last week; hard to fancy. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (2/13 +98%) Boldog |
2/13(+98%) | (1) Boldog 2/13, Useful hurdler. Useful winner at 17f over hurdles. 9/2, fell in novice chase at Galway (18.2f, good to soft) on debut over fences 80 days ago. Remains of interest in this sphere. Faller at Galway on chasing debut in September and jumped very poorly on the day. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (20/1 +92%) Jonny Mansie |
20/1(+92%) | (4) Jonny Mansie 20/1, Poor hurdler. 12/1, below form seventh of 12 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (24f, good to soft). Off 6 months. Makes chase debut. Down in trip. Modest 83-rated maiden hurdler never threatened to win a race; of no interest whatsoever. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MISTERGIF was highly tried over hurdles last season and is a nice prospect for chasing this term. The Zarak gelding was fifth in the Supreme Novices' and also finished fourth in Grade 1 company at Aintree. The form of his runner-up effort at Punchestown looks good, with the winner Gorgeous Tom a Grade 3 winner at Cork earlier this month. Stablemate Western Diego was bought from the Clipper Logistics dispersal and was Grade 2-placed over hurdles last season. He's a strong second string. Former stablemate Ho My Lord has the chase form in the book. He chased home Farren Glory at Naas last time and is entitled to be thereabouts again.
MISTERGIF has shown a useful level of form as a hurdler and is very much the type to make a better chaser, so he gets the nod ahead of Boldog, who fell on chasing debut but can also make his presence felt based on hurdling form. Ho My Lord has the best form over fences to date, so he deserves some respect.
Willie Mullins has won the last five runnings of this beginners' chase and MISTERGIF can make it six

1st (6) (9/4 +0%) Honey Jack |
9/4(+0%) | (6) Honey Jack 9/4, Showed a bit more when fourth of 8 on recent handicap debut upped to 24.6f at Kempton. Possibilities here off 1 lb lower with that run under his belt. Fair fourth on this month's handicap debut at Kempton and he could have more to offer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (11/2 -22%) Native Moon |
11/2(-22%) | (1) Native Moon 11/2, Signs of promise on each of his last 2 starts in novice/maiden hurdles but never figured when pulled up on handicap debut at Uttoxeter (23.3f, soft) in May. Remains early days now starting out for new yard. Pulled up on h'cap debut but glimpses of promise previously; not written off; yard debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (7) (16/1 +52%) Inchagoill Lady |
16/1(+52%) | (7) Inchagoill Lady 16/1, Appeared to take a step forward when third on chase debut/second start for this yard following a wind op at Exeter (3m. heavy) in March. However, it's been all downhill since and she's passed over. Dropping down the weights but pulled up on reappearance, so it's hard to be confident. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (7/1 +18%) Diamatiste |
7/1(+18%) | (2) Diamatiste 7/1, Fourth both starts in points. Hinted at ability in maiden/novices at the beginning of 2024 but pulled up on handicap debut in March and step forward needed now faced with a stiffer test. Pulled up on handicap debut here in March (2m) but dam won at up to 3m2f; no forlorn hope. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (10/1 -122%) Chauffeur Driven |
10/1(-122%) | (3) Chauffeur Driven 10/1, Point winner. Also third in maiden/novice hurdles around 2m last winter but has disappointed in both handicaps, latterly when 3/1 favourite at Ffos Las 18 days ago. First-time cheekpieces worn on that occasion are now replaced by blinkers and a tongue tie. Evidently thought capable of better. Pulled off/tailed off in his two handicaps but short odds each time; things may click soon. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (5) (6/1 +25%) Outside Adesa |
6/1(+25%) | (5) Outside Adesa 6/1, Runner-up both outings in Irish points and some decent efforts for Mitchell Hunt over hurdles last season. Returns to this sphere following a low-key return tried over fences for new yard at Uttoxeter and he's not a forlorn hope. He may have needed his stable debut four weeks ago and a case can be made on March form. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (14/1 +0%) Ca Plane Pour Moi |
14/1(+0%) | (4) Ca Plane Pour Moi 14/1, Had been shaping up quite well for Colm Murphy, but yet to offer much encouragement for current yard. Cheekpieces and tongue strap enlisted. His mark continues to fall but he's struggled; new headgear needs to have dramatic effect. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (10) (25/1 0%) Till You Can't |
25/1(0%) | (10) Till You Can't 25/1, No show in 2 bumpers/3 starts over hurdles to date. Big step forward needed now upped in trip for this handicap debut. Makes handicap debut off lowly mark and over new trip, but he's shown little over hurdles. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (7/1 +0%) Hi Riko |
7/1(+0%) | (8) Hi Riko 7/1, Wasn't disgraced back hurdling in a first-time hood (discarded here) on return/debut for new yard at Ffos Las (2½m, good to soft) earlier this month. Down another 2 lb and couldn't rule out back up in trip. 0-14 but ran okay when sixth on recent stable debut and he may be able to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (11) (40/1 -60%) Confused Again |
40/1(-60%) | (11) Confused Again 40/1, Little promise in trio of maiden/novice hurdles at around 2m at Exeter last season. Opposable on handicap debut following an 8-month absence. Tailed off on all 3 starts but the step up in trip is an interesting move on h'cap debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Each of these have questions to answer, but better was clearly expected of CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN on his seasonal return at Ffos Las. Sent off the 3/1 favourite, David Pipe's charge was prominent for a long way before weakening approaching two from home. That will have blown the cobwebs away, though, and from 3lb lower with a tongue-tie and blinkers applied for the first time, he could step forward. Better is anticipated from Native Moon, who has changed stables since pulling up at Uttoxeter in May, while Honey Jack may be able to build on his recent Kempton performance.
A chance is taken on HI RIKO, who appears to retain ability judged on his recent reappearance spin at Ffos Las and he has slipped to a dangerous mark. Honey Jack merits respect on the back of an encouraging handicap debut effort at Kempton and he is next on the list ahead of Native Moon and Chauffeur Driven.
This may not take much winning and HONEY JACK, who was a fair fourth on his handicap debut at Kempton, is taken to come out on top.

1st (1) (8/15 +56%) Impero |
8/15(+56%) | (1) Impero 8/15, Untrustworthy maiden on Flat but going right way over hurdles at present for this yard, getting off the mark in maiden at Downpatrick (17f) in October and following up in 2m Cheltenham handicap a fortnight later. Likely to make a bold bid for the hat-trick. Hurdle career gathering momentum with good Cheltenham win latest; big weights chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (17/2 -55%) Ollie La Ba Ba |
17/2(-55%) | (3) Ollie La Ba Ba 17/2, Winner of 2¾m maiden at Downpatrick in July. Creditable fifth of 13 in handicap at Listowel (2½m) in September. Ought to be in the shake-up. Raised his game for 2m6f Downpatrick win in July; form subsided on last 2 starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (10/1 +17%) Shattered Soldier |
10/1(+17%) | (5) Shattered Soldier 10/1, Won by 20 lengths when off the mark at the fifth time of asking in Irish points in April. It'll be interesting to see what the betting makes of him now hurdling. Wide-margin Irish point winner; has potential but this is a sharp test now hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (10/3 +39%) Kingston James |
10/3(+39%) | (2) Kingston James 10/3, Successful on his completed start in points and made a winning start under Rules in a bumper at Ayr in March. Also struck at the first time of asking over hurdles at Hexham in October and might be worth forgiving his effort in a much stronger race at Cheltenham since. Won ordinary Hexham novice on hurdle debut; didn't do himself justice latest; tough here. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
IMPERO struck by three-quarters of a length in handicap company at Cheltenham in October and sets the standard with a rating of 125. Cian Collins' five-year-old might only need to maintain that level of form in order to complete the hat-trick. Ollie La Ba Ba finished fifth at Listowel on his most recent start and is an interesting contender back in a novice, while point-to-point winner Shattered Soldier needs to be monitored in the market.
IMPERO can continue his really positive start to life with this stable and complete a hat-trick. Kingston James seemed a little outclassed at Cheltenham but could resume his progression back in calmer waters and is feared most ahead of Bel Amigo, who can leave the form of his British debut behind now back over shorter with a hood refitted.
Although IMPERO faces a very different type of track to Cheltenham last time he had Flat form on sharp courses and is hard to oppose.

1st (5) (5/6 +76%) Twp Stori |
5/6(+76%) | (5) Twp Stori 5/6, Steadily progressive sort who went close in a 4-runner affair over this C&D in February prior to going one better at Fontwell the following month. Didn't shape at all badly over an inadequate trip on return at Uttoxeter (15.8f, good to soft) and a bold show could be on the way. Strong stayer who has claims on this big step back up in trip; suited by slow ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (4/1 +47%) Getaway With You |
4/1(+47%) | (8) Getaway With You 4/1, Still to win but he has taken his form up a notch for his current yard, a strong-travelling second of 13 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (3m, soft) last month. Bad mistake proved costly at Huntingdon next time and he remains of interest. Disappointing when favourite at Huntingdon 25 days ago and comes with risks attached. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (3/1 -71%) Just Chasing May |
3/1(-71%) | (3) Just Chasing May 3/1, Looked one to follow in opening his account in thoroughly dominant fashion at Uttoxeter (2½m, good to soft) in June and has followed that with solid efforts in defeat at Southwell and Huntingdon. Edging up the weights but that's justified and he looks set for another leading role. Progressive 5yo and he's a big player if he can continue the good work at this new trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (28/1 +15%) Ray's The One |
28/1(+15%) | (7) Ray's The One 28/1, It's been a while since he last put his best foot forward and others make more appeal. Out of sorts under all codes in last 13 months and he's unraced beyond 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (9) (50/1 -100%) Engaging Sam |
50/1(-100%) | (9) Engaging Sam 50/1, Produced much his best effort to date when third to a progressive type over this C&D on his final start of last season. However, it remains to be seen if he will build on that and being 7 lb 'wrong' at the weights is no help. Third over C&D in February but he's been off since and is 7lb out of the weights here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (33/1 +18%) Endersen |
33/1(+18%) | (6) Endersen 33/1, Remains a maiden following 8 appearances in various race-types under Rules (also 0-4 between the flags) and it's easy enough to look elsewhere. Overall record of 0-12 and he's struggled in his four handicaps; passed over. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (1) (16/1 +0%) Chankaya |
16/1(+0%) | (1) Chankaya 16/1, Improved when opening his account under Cameron Iles in a 12-runner Taunton handicap (19f, soft) on final start for Mitchell Hunt in February. However, he was soon done with on return/debut for new yard at Uttoxeter, a poor effort even allowing for the fact that the run may have been needed. May have needed the run on recent stable debut and has claims if he can get back near best. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (4) (40/1 +0%) Hurst Hill |
40/1(+0%) | (4) Hurst Hill 40/1, Placed in a couple of mares' novice events at Newton Abbot during the summer (both at around 17f) but has failed to build on those efforts since returning from a break last month, including on handicap bow at Fontwell last time. Needs to get back on track now faced with a stiffer test. Tailed off on recent handicap debut and has plenty to prove on this big step up in trip. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
JUST CHASING MAY has filled second place on both starts since winning over 2m4f at Uttoxeter in June and it would be no surprise to see Ben Pauling's gelding go one better here. Twp Stori was in fine form earlier in the year and there wasn't a lot wrong with his comeback fifth at Uttoxeter. He is the logical threat, with Getaway With You the pick of the remainder.
TWP STORI was steadily progressive last season and may well have more to offer this time round judged on his encouraging reappearance spin at Uttoxeter where the drop to 15.8f counted against him. The 6-y-o shades preference ahead of Easter Icon and Just Chasing May, while Getaway With You also enters calculations.
5yo JUST CHASING MAY is creeping up the weights but he continues to go the right way and looks worth a go over the new trip.

1st (4) (1/40 +99%) Fil Dor |
1/40(+99%) | (4) Fil Dor 1/40, Very smart chaser. Respectable 6½ lengths second of 6 to Saint Sam in Clonmel Oil Chase (11/2) at Clonmel (20.8f, good to soft) 21 days ago, left with too much to do. Cheekpieces back on. Should go well. Given too much to do when second in Clonmel Oil behind Saint Sam on return; chance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (12/1 +94%) Hazelhatch Lady |
12/1(+94%) | (5) Hazelhatch Lady 12/1, Fair chaser. Tailed-off last of 7 to Lot of Joy in listed mares event at Punchestown (18f, good to soft, 150/1) 4 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Up in trip. Outsider. Beaten out of sight in Listed hurdle at Punchestown latest; little chance in this lineup. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
APPRECIATE IT looks nicely treated in this on his return to action. The Jeremy gelding ran a big race on his seasonal debut last season, when second in the John Durkan, and has won first time out a few times so catching him fresh may be best. Fil Dor has a run under his belt and may prove the danger. Gordon Elliott's charge stayed on into second behind Saint Sam at Clonmel three weeks ago and looks worth a shot at this distance now. Nick Rockett ran really well when third in the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown on his final start last season and is a smart handicapper. He's another for the shortlist.
APPRECIATE IT can provide Willie Mullins with a seventh success in this listed chase since 2015. Gordon Elliott's Fil Dor is the obvious danger on the back of his decent comeback run in the Clonmel OiI.
NICK ROCKETT has the gears for this shorter trip and was an excellent third in the bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown when last seen

1st (6) (11/8 +69%) Jackpot Des Bordes |
11/8(+69%) | (6) Jackpot Des Bordes 11/8, Made a winning bumper debut at Hereford a year ago and improved form when second at Wincanton 5 months later. In tongue strap for seasonal/hurdling bow, in need of experience when mid-field in Exeter maiden (18.5f, good to soft) last month. Capable of better. Probably needed the run at Exeter and his bumper form makes for good reading. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (3/1 +57%) Saint Anapolino |
3/1(+57%) | (10) Saint Anapolino 3/1, Successful on sole outing in point bumpers and has shown encouragement both starts under Rules, runner-up in bumper at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) when last seen in January. One to note on hurdling debut with yard going well. Shaped with plenty of promise under rules in races won by smart types. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 +40%) Dance And Glance |
9/2(+40%) | (1) Dance And Glance 9/2, Built on debut promise when winning a Plumpton bumper and, after 6 months off, faced a simple task when making a successful start over hurdles in 4-runner maiden at Southwell (15.8f, good) 13 days ago. This is tougher but he's open to improvement. This is much stronger than the Southwell race he won and has a penalty to carry. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (20/1 -25%) Jukebox Annie |
20/1(-25%) | (7) Jukebox Annie 20/1, Landed a 3-runner bumper at Newton Abbot on second start but was struggling when falling at this C&D on hurdles debut final outing last season. However, after a year off she caused a surprise when winning 4-runner novice back here (good) 2 weeks ago. More needed. Both wins have come in small fields for weak races; opposable in this company. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (200/1 -400%) Dark Material |
200/1(-400%) | (4) Dark Material 200/1, Made appeal on paper but shaped as if amiss when tailed off in a Wincanton bumper on debut last December. However, finished well held at the same course 4 months later and off another 7 months ahead of going hurdling. Tailed off in two Wincanton bumpers (heavy/good) and one to watch for the time being. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (100/1 -355%) Brave Move |
100/1(-355%) | (2) Brave Move 100/1, Failed to meet market expectations in bumpers 10 months apart and in need of the experience when third of 6 in novice at Hereford (16.2f, good) on hurdling debut 16 days ago. However, he's entitled to do better with his latest run behind him. Beaten 18l+ in all his races, the latest on hurdling debut at Hereford. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (3) (150/1 0%) D'gesteevo |
150/1(0%) | (3) D'gesteevo 150/1, Went with little encouragement in a pair of bumpers and fared no better sent hurdling, tailed off when refused 3 out in maiden at Chepstow (16f, good to soft) 22 days ago. Easy enough to look elsewhere. Refused three out at Chepstow when tailed off at the time (125-1); now goes in cheekpieces. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (14) (18/1 -80%) Youdecide |
18/1(-80%) | (14) Youdecide 18/1, Irish point winner who was sent off favourite but found wanting for finishing speed when fifth of 10 in bumper at Sandown (16f, good) 18 days ago. Yard enjoying success with their hurdle debutants, but he's likely to be suited by further in time. Point winner; got outpaced in a Sandown bumper but did go off favourite; respected. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (11) (9/2 +63%) Siam Park |
9/2(+63%) | (11) Siam Park 9/2, Made the frame in maiden hurdles at Wincanton first 2 starts under Rules but hasn't progressed since. After 6 months off (had wind op), in process of running below form when falling in handicap at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) last time. Hood now reached for. Now 0-5 over hurdles and was beaten when falling in a Chepstow handicap; now hooded. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (33/1 -18%) Les's Jersey Royal |
33/1(-18%) | (8) Les's Jersey Royal 33/1, Held back by inexperience in a Kempton bumper in February but, after 9 months off, he showed some promise sent hurdling when fifth of 12 in maiden at Leicester (20.5f, good to soft) 10 days ago. May be one for further down the line. Well held in a Kempton bumper and again on his switch to hurdling at Leicester. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (9) (150/1 -500%) Manhattan Valley |
150/1(-500%) | (9) Manhattan Valley 150/1, Castle Du Berlais gelding. Dam unraced sister to useful hurdler (stayed 19f) Bravissimo and half-sister to winning hurdler/fairly useful chaser (17f-23f winner) Dashing Rose. Off mark in Irish points at fourth attempt in May. Likely one for the longer term. Won his fourth start in Irish points but probably up against it in a race of this nature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
12th (5) (150/1 -50%) Dublin To Milan |
150/1(-50%) | (5) Dublin To Milan 150/1, Made the frame all 3 starts in points but has offered little in a trio of novice hurdles, beaten a long way when seventh of 12 at Ffos Las (15.8f, good to soft) 18 days ago. Looks to be up against it. Has hinted at ability but nothing like enough to recommend in a novice of this nature. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
13th (12) (200/1 -150%) Staff Sergeant Len |
200/1(-150%) | (12) Staff Sergeant Len 200/1, Much improved from debut when narrowly denied in a Fontwell bumper (17.7f) in January. However, failed to repeat that effort next time and, after 8-month absence, tailed off on first start over hurdles at Wincanton (15.2f, good) 19 days ago. His near-miss in a Fontwell bumper (soft) is a complete standout in his form; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Dance And Glance landed a NH Flat race at Plumpton before justifying short odds at Southwell on his hurdling bow. He merits respect under the penalty, but the vote goes to JACKPOT DES BORDES. A bumper winner himself before finding the smart Celtic Dino too strong at Wincanton, he failed to fire on his jumping debut having lacked fluency. He should be sharper this time around, though, and it would come as no surprise were he to find considerable improvement. Saint Anapolino enters calculations, while Tripoli Flyer struck at Market Rasen on Wednesday and would be a significant player if turning up here too.
Having shown useful form in bumpers, TRIPOLI FLYER was beaten only by another decent prospect at Chepstow on his hurdling debut so he looks to the one to beat if taking up this engagement. Jackpot des Bordes was also a winner in bumpers and could be the main danger with his first run over hurdles behind him, ahead of Saint Anapolino.
Tripoli Flyer would be hard to beat if turned out quickly but perhaps YOUDECIDE can step up on his Sandown run.

1st (8) (3/1 +65%) Melinda |
3/1(+65%) | (8) Melinda 3/1, Fair form on Flat up to 1½m, well held on handicap debut last time. Looks the stable second string. 0-4 on the Flat and stablemate Johnny Ringo has better form, but could give a good account. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (15/8 +17%) Johnny Ringo |
15/8(+17%) | (1) Johnny Ringo 15/8, Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1¼m), creditable second last time. Capable of making a winning start to hurdling if sufficiently clued up. Flat winner (RPR 87) who holds leading claims if transferring that ability on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (3/1 +50%) Spartan Warrior |
3/1(+50%) | (4) Spartan Warrior 3/1, Dam half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2¾m) Cook Islands. Fair handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m), won twice in 2024 for Ollie Sangster, possibly needed run on stable debut last time. Notable hurdling newcomer. Two Flat wins in May; could be a contender if tapping into that ability on hurdle debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 -20%) Mariner |
12/1(-20%) | (2) Mariner 12/1, Fair maiden handicapper on Flat (stays 1¼m), below form of late. Has left Jessica Macey. Should be well prepared for this and can't be ruled out. Failed to shine on final few Flat starts but goes hurdling with new yard among the winners. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (9/2 -13%) There's No Limit |
9/2(-13%) | (5) There's No Limit 9/2, Fair winner on the Flat who made a positive start to hurdling career when third at Sedgefield 58 days ago. That experience could be crucial. Third at Sedgefield last time; has his limitations but he's entitled to respect today. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (3) (14/1 -180%) Saviour |
14/1(-180%) | (3) Saviour 14/1, Fair maiden on the Flat. From the family of a useful hurdler and in good hands, so can't be dismissed. Form went the wrong way on the Flat but he's not ruled out on his hurdle/stable debut. |

|PU| (6) (125/1 -279%) Lunar Rocks |
125/1(-279%) | (6) Lunar Rocks 125/1, Poor maiden on Flat (stays 1½m), down the field last 3 starts. Hard to fancy. 11-race maiden on the Flat at a lowly level; now goes hurdling and probably best watched. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (150/1 -500%) Mahpenny |
150/1(-500%) | (7) Mahpenny 150/1, Mahsoob filly. Dam fair hurdler (23f winner). Third in a junior bumper at Newcastle recently but needs more on hurdling bow. 40-1 when well-beaten third of five on recent debut in bumper; others are preferred. |

JOHNNY RINGO is the highest rated of these contenders on the Flat and may prove the one to beat if transferring that ability to this sphere. Mariner makes his first start for the in-form Jennie Candish stable and has to be respected on his hurdling debut, while any market confidence behind Spartan Warrior would be interesting having perhaps needed his latest run here on the level.
JOHNNY RINGO is the pick of these on the Flat and ran well in that sphere last time so, if he's well schooled, he could get the better of There's No Limit, who has an experience edge.
Lucinda Russell won this last year and is taken to land back-to-back runnings courtesy of useful Flat performer JOHNNY RINGO.

16/5(-42%) | (10) Holloway Queen 16/5, €40,000 3-y-o, £180,000 4-y-o, Jukebox Jury filly. Half-sister to a point winner. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser (2m-2¼m winner) Bywell Beau. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Mar 2024). One to note on debut. Bought for £180,000 after second in Irish point in March; interesting on hurdling debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (4/7 +67%) Jasmine Bliss |
4/7(+67%) | (5) Jasmine Bliss 4/7, Bought for £50,000 after getting off the mark in Irish points at the third attempt and confirmed the promise of her bumper debut when opening her account at Wetherby in January. Defied a penalty at Newbury in March and rates a good hurdling prospect. Point winner who was 2-3 in bumpers last season; looks a bright prospect for hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (33/1 +67%) Jesuila Des Mottes |
33/1(+67%) | (6) Jesuila Des Mottes 33/1, French-bred mare who was held back by inexperience in bumper novice hurdle 6 months apart. Tongue strap on 1st time. Well held in sole bumper and same story on hurdling debut last month; tongue-tie now added. |

Off mark in Irish points at third attempt (Feb 2023). Irish point winner; returns after 641 days off but she needs watching in market. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
PLANTAROMA chased home a useful prospect when filling second place on her hurdling debut over 2m at Chepstow a few weeks ago. With the benefit of that outing, the four-year-old could be hard to beat. Holloway Queen cost 180,000 pounds after hitting the crossbar on her sole start between the flags and she is an obvious threat to the selection. Jasmine Bliss is another to consider in a competitive event.
JASMINE BLISS is sure to have a bright future over hurdles given what she achieved in bumpers last season and shades the vote over Plantaroma, who made a good start in this sphere when second at Chepstow. Holloway Queen is a newcomer to note.
An interesting race in which the vote goes to point and dual bumper winner JASMINE BLISS, who could have a bright future over hurdles.

5/2(+58%) | (6) Malinas Glory 5/2, Remains a maiden after 22 NH runs. 14/1, creditable fourth of 11 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (21f, soft) 9 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Shortlist material. Encouragement from his fourth in a handicap hurdle at Limerick last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (7/2 +46%) Likable Chancer |
7/2(+46%) | (8) Likable Chancer 7/2, Two wins from 53 NH runs. Latest win in chase at Ballinrobe in September. Below form sixth of 16 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy, 8/1) 32 days ago. Blinkers back on. Consistent of late but has to bounce back from a sub-standard run at Galway last time. |

3rd (5) (11/2 +83%) Getabelle |
11/2(+83%) | (5) Getabelle 11/2, 12/1, tenth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (19.4f, good to soft) 39 days ago. Makes chase debut. Out of form over hurdles; hard to fancy on her chasing debut on current evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (17/2 -113%) Room To Roam |
17/2(-113%) | (4) Room To Roam 17/2, Two wins from 51 NH runs. Creditable second of 11 in handicap chase (17/2) at Sligo (21.1f, good) 57 days ago. Should be on the premises. Second at Sligo; has run well here before and should be suited by this sort of track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (5/1 -122%) Cahirdown Boy |
5/1(-122%) | (3) Cahirdown Boy 5/1, 1 win from 3 runs this season. Latest win in chase at Listowel in September. Respectable fifth of 9 in handicap chase at Limerick (19.2f, good to soft, 9/2) 39 days ago. Looks the one to beat. Jumping let him down at Limerick; won't mind going back up in trip; one for the shortlist. |

5/1(+80%) | (7) Mustameet Secret 5/1, Eighth of 16 in handicap chase at Galway (22.5f, heavy, 16/1) on debut over fences 32 days ago. Others make more appeal. Not much to recommend of late, including in a Galway handicap chase last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (10) (20/1 +50%) The Eye Of Tulla |
20/1(+50%) | (10) The Eye Of Tulla 20/1, Thirteenth of 15 in handicap chase at Clonmel (20.8f, good to soft, 33/1) 21 days ago. Others preferred. Totally out of form since returning in July; makes no appeal on current evidence. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
ROOM TO ROAM ran well over fences at Sligo early last month and a similar effort may be enough to get his head in front again now. The Fast Company gelding chased home Gladiatorial then and that form has worked out well since, with the fourth-placed General Hubble going on to win twice. Cahirdown Boy won on his penultimate start and didn't run too badly off his revised mark when fifth in Limerick. He is entitled to play a big part in this company. Port Rashid ran well over hurdles last time and, off a couple of pounds lower over fences, the veteran could get involved.
Having scored at Listowel in September, CAHIRDOWN BOY acquitted himself well in a better race at Limerick so, back down in grade, he's fancied to get back to winning ways at the possible expense of Room to Roam. Malinas Glory also makes plenty of appeal.
The vote goes to BRAVE ADAM who improved up to a similar trip at Killarney and was bang there at Fairyhouse last time before an error

1st (2) (4/1 +38%) Okavango Delta |
4/1(+38%) | (2) Okavango Delta 4/1, Hurdles winner who shaped with encouragement starting out for new yard when fourth at Hexham in October. Couldn't build on that when sixth at Kelso (17f) next time but that form is working out well and a return to this longer trip may well see him in a better light here. 0-7 over fences but fair sixth at Kelso latest and could build on that now back up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (9) (7/1 -40%) Divas Doyen |
7/1(-40%) | (9) Divas Doyen 7/1, Finally got off the mark at Carlisle 17 days ago, seen to good effect in having her cards played later than the placed pair and also having the benefit of the rail late on, so not an obvious type to follow up. Off the mark at the 20th attempt, at Carlisle recently; effective over C&D; key player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/1 -8%) I'm Too Tired |
7/1(-8%) | (5) I'm Too Tired 7/1, Breakthrough success over hurdles came at Sedgefield in January. Decent third there on return so warrants some respect now going chasing. Not bred for fences but from in-form yard & receives valuable 4yo allowance on chase debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (1) (9/2 +40%) Just Gino |
9/2(+40%) | (1) Just Gino 9/2, Fetched £100,000 after winning sole start in points and posted best effort from 3 starts over hurdles when fourth of 11 on return at Warwick. Fast-tracked over fences but failed to figure at Kelso last month, however. Soundly beaten on chase/h'cap debut but this 3m point winner could improve now up in trip. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (15/2 +53%) Euchan Falls |
15/2(+53%) | (3) Euchan Falls 15/2, On a losing run and was well held returned to chasing after 5 months off at Ayr. Others are more appealing. Made it 0-8 over fences when tailed off at Ayr but case can be made on form from spring. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (10) (12/1 -20%) Jackhammer |
12/1(-20%) | (10) Jackhammer 12/1, Veteran Flat performer (won 3 weeks ago)/hurdles winner. However, yet to score in this sphere and this trip is further than ideal. Won on the Flat here three weeks ago but 0-9 over fences and this trip may stretch him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (9/1 +55%) Blow The Budget |
9/1(+55%) | (7) Blow The Budget 9/1, Modest maiden hurdler and well held both starts over fences. Well treated on best hurdle form and the drop back in trip could help on third chase start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (6) (9/2 +10%) One Step Up |
9/2(+10%) | (6) One Step Up 9/2, Placed on 2 of his 3 outings this season, on the latest finishing third of 14 at Ayr (19.5f) with cheekpieces added (retained). Makes chase debut. 0-10 over hurdles but some good runs this season and he's one to consider on chase debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DIVAS DOYEN shed her maiden tag at Carlisle earlier in the month and the handicapper might have been kind to only put her up 2lb for that triumph. If the seven-year-old can back that performance up, she could prove tough to beat. One Step Up made the frame over the smaller obstacles at Ayr in October and is likely to enter calculations. Okavango Delta might appreciate this step back up in trip and he completes the shortlist.
OKAVANGO DELTA has made a positive start for this yard and can take advantage of a career-low mark returned to a longer trip. The Jad Factor went close at Kelso on his final start and remains unexposed in this sphere so is next best ahead of Divas Doyen, who was seen to good effect when scoring at Carlisle.
Recent Carlisle winner Divas Doyen possesses good C&D form but THE JAD FACTOR is on an attractive mark and can defy his absence.

1st (4) (11/4 -69%) Aworkinprogress |
11/4(-69%) | (4) Aworkinprogress 11/4, Left previous form well behind when making second handicap start a winning one at Fontwell in March. Improved again when making a winning return/chase bow at Stratford 6 weeks ago, jumping better as race wore on. Should progress further. Won on chase debut at Fontwell and he's 3lb well in here; major player. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (1) (6/5 +60%) Vision De Maine |
6/5(+60%) | (1) Vision De Maine 6/5, Irish point winner who justified strong support when making a successful chase debut in 3m Uttoxeter handicap on return last month. Followed up in good style over C&D 16 days ago and type to progress again. 2-2 over fences this autumn; up another 8lb but he's strongly respected in hat-trick bid. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (5) (7/2 +46%) Camulus |
7/2(+46%) | (5) Camulus 7/2, Modest performer but showed some improvement starting out for this yard when second of 5 over C&D after a year off in February. Might have found next run coming too soon 2 weeks later so better showing can be expected on this return. Inconsistent sort with overall record of 0-10; comes with risks attached on his return. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (14/1 -75%) Airtothethrone |
14/1(-75%) | (2) Airtothethrone 14/1, Fair winning handicap chaser who bounced back to his best in first-time cheekpieces when second at Taunton (26.3f, good) in April. Respectable return at Chepstow and should be in the mix again. Engaged 2.00 Hereford Wednesday. Just 1-13 over fences and this looks a tough assignment against some progressive rivals. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (20/1 -100%) Has Troke |
20/1(-100%) | (3) Has Troke 20/1, Off the mark over fences when taking 5-runner handicap at Newcastle (23.4f, heavy) in March. Struggled at Hereford final start and may need this after 7 months off. Disappointing in final run last term and has bit to prove after 228 days off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (22/1 +0%) Abbeyhill |
22/1(+0%) | (8) Abbeyhill 22/1, Irish point scorer who ended last season on the up, going in at Plumpton and Catterick (25f). However, disappointed at Ffos Las on return and offered little on chasing debut 3 weeks ago. Dual hurdle winner but he struggled on chase debut at Fontwell (3m2f) three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 -39%) Top Kap |
25/1(-39%) | (7) Top Kap 25/1, Well held in bumper and over hurdles, including on handicap bow on return. Plenty to prove on chase bow. Still lightly raced but he needs a transformation on this switch to fences.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (6) (66/1 -164%) Uallrightharry |
66/1(-164%) | (6) Uallrightharry 66/1, Took advantage of a big drop in the weights at Fontwell in March but quickly back in the doldrums next 2 starts. Off 6 months. Won at Fontwell in March but back in the doldrums in final two runs last season; opposable. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
VISION DE MAINE arrives here on the back of two victories in recent months and even an 8lb rise for the latest of those wins may not be enough to stop the progressive five-year-old from making it a hat-trick. Aworkinprogress has a similar profile to the selection and should not be underestimated, while Has Troke edges out Camulus to be best of the rest.
A couple of improving 5-y-os bidding for the hat-trick headline this event, with AWORKINPROGRESS marginally preferred to Vision de Maine. Camulus is worth another chance to build on his promising stable debut and is best of the others.
Vision De Maine is 2-2 over fences but preference is for AWORKINPROGRESS, who won in smooth style on his chase debut last month.

7th (6) (33/1 +18%) Hitthehayson |
33/1(+18%) | (6) Hitthehayson 33/1, Jukebox Jury gelding. Dam unraced. Yard saddles a more appealing candidate in Committee Meeting. Dam unraced half-sister to point winner Onthepulse; doesn't look a likely type on paper. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Cheltenham Champion Bumper fifth FISHERY LANE should prove hard to beat on his hurdling debut. The Gemix gelding disappointed when last seen at Punchestown in May. He got tight for room turning in then, but it was still a below-par effort and he's obviously capable of a lot better. Stablemate Foreverwalking was pulled up in a Clonmel bumper on his track debut, having won a point-to-point. He was reported to have made a noise that day and it will be interesting to see how he fares now. Point winner Committee Meeting showed promise when fourth on his hurdling debut at Punchestown and should pick up prize money.
FISHERY LANE was well beaten at Punchestown when last seen but he shaped well both starts prior to that, including when fifth in the 19-runner Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. The 5-y-o is likely to prove hard to beat now switched to hurdles in a race which, with all due respect to his rivals, probably won't take much winning. Stablemate Foreverwalking didn't show much on his Rules debut but is surely capable of better. Committee Meeting and Cyrus Field both have each-way claims.
CYRUS FIELD finished fifth of 17 behind a classy horse on his debut and is entitled to come on plenty for the run

3rd (5) (11/2 -38%) Restandbethankful |
11/2(-38%) | (5) Restandbethankful 11/2, Resumed from wind surgery with a cosy success in 5-runner handicap chase at Cartmel (17f, soft) in August. Good second over fences at Kelso since. Runner-up twice over hurdles in midsummer. Respected. Went close over fences at Kelso last time and has a lower hurdle mark to work with. |

4th (2) (7/2 +13%) Ravenscraig Castle |
7/2(+13%) | (2) Ravenscraig Castle 7/2, Fairly useful stayer on Flat who hasn't fired for a while in that sphere but boasts a progressive profile in this sphere, finishing second in a 2m Perth handicap on latest start 2 months ago. Another prominent showing is likely. Placed at Perth in September in first two handicap hurdles; can be thereabouts once more. |

5th (11) (11/1 -29%) Skiddaw |
11/1(-29%) | (11) Skiddaw 11/1, Yet to build on his hurdle debut but still early days and he travelled well for a long way before weakening into a well-held fourth in 2m Hexham handicap on reappearance 3 weeks ago. Should be sharper for the outing. Lightly raced and there's potential in his pedigree, but he hasn't shone in his two h'caps. |

9/2(0%) | (9) She's On Line 9/2, Arrives on the back of good runner-up efforts in 2m handicap hurdles at Tramore and Limerick this autumn. Respected Irish raider. Runner-up the last twice and this Irish raider brings strong claims. |

8th (6) (25/1 -25%) Snowrocco |
25/1(-25%) | (6) Snowrocco 25/1, Placed on her completed start in Irish points and ran to a fair level when fourth on her Wetherby hurdle debut in February. Found Catterick too sharp when a remote third the following month and it might be a similar story now handicapping after 9 months off. Third in a point and also showed ability on both hurdle runs; goes h'capping off fair mark. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (7) (25/1 +24%) Benefit Ben |
25/1(+24%) | (7) Benefit Ben 25/1, Maiden Irish pointer who showed ability in maiden/novice hurdles last winter but well held on his Ayr handicap debut when last seen in April (final start for Sandy Thomson). Disappointing on handicap debut in April but some promise previously and not written off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (3) (33/1 +0%) Spantik |
33/1(+0%) | (3) Spantik 33/1, Not seen over hurdles for nearly 2 years and recent Flat efforts nothing to get excited about. First hurdle run since December 2022 but he's on a competitive mark and is not ruled out. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
Not beaten far on her last two starts in Ireland, connections look to have found an ideal opportunity for SHE'S ON LINE across the water. The nature of this track could suit and she may be able to get off the mark at the main expense of Heart Above, who has been in very consistent form this season. Narrowly denied on the Flat here twice over the summer, Freddy Robinson is another to consider, as well as Ravenscraig Castle and Restandbethankful.
A competitive handicap. HEART ABOVE's form this autumn looks solid and he's taken to resume winning ways for the Dianne Sayer team. Ravenscraig Castle has been placed in both his handicap hurdles and is second choice ahead of Restandbethankful and Irish raider She's On Line.
Having been in fine form over fences the last twice, RESTANDBETHANKFUL (nap) can capitalise on a lower hurdle mark.

1st (4) (5/1 +9%) Speiriuil |
5/1(+9%) | (4) Speiriuil 5/1, Good second of 7 in handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter (15.8f, soft) on final outing last season and probably needed her return at Chepstow 22 days ago. Not completely dismissed. In the frame first five starts; entitled to need recent return to action. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (6) (9/4 +36%) Stardhem |
9/4(+36%) | (6) Stardhem 9/4, Lightly raced hurdler. 7/1, respectable sixth of 18 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (19.4f, good to soft) 22 days ago. This doesn't look as competitive and there could be more to come in first-time cheekpieces. Faded over 2m3f on handicap debut at Chepstow; this sharper test might suit better. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (9) (4/1 +33%) Spicy Nelson |
4/1(+33%) | (9) Spicy Nelson 4/1, Poor hurdler who wasn't disgraced at Fontwell last time but will need to up his game if he's to open his account. Not yet played a part in three handicaps and has it to prove from out of the weights. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (11/2 -10%) The Cox Express |
11/2(-10%) | (7) The Cox Express 11/2, Winless since his debut but he posted a very good second of 12 in handicap hurdle at Fontwell on final outing last season. Should be sharper for his return at Chepstow, so not without hope. Well below best latest but will at least handle the conditions; capable of a good show. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (40/1 -122%) Vendant |
40/1(-122%) | (5) Vendant 40/1, Placed in points but well held only start in bumpers and yet to get competitive over hurdles. Goes handicapping after 8 months off. Some point promise in 2022; not obviously well treated on hurdle form now handicapping. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (2) (4/1 -45%) Nachtgeist |
4/1(-45%) | (2) Nachtgeist 4/1, Useful at best on Flat and best effort yet over timber when second of 8 in handicap at Huntingdon (19.6f) on penultimate start. Not in same form at Ascot since but could bounce back. Placed in German Group 2 in 2023; ups and downs in Britain but has the form to figure. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (12/1 -20%) El Bandido Pancho |
12/1(-20%) | (8) El Bandido Pancho 12/1, Westerner gelding who has offered little in a bumper and over hurdles. Could do better now handicapping, though. Very modest form in four runs but makes handicap debut for in-form yard. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
All of these have questions to answer, but perhaps THE COX EXPRESS could be the way to go now he has the benefit of a recent run under his belt. Although well beaten on his return at Chepstow earlier this month, that was his first start since May and, off a still competitive rating, the Robert Walford-trained gelding could offer a bit of value in an open contest. Stardhem, who runs with cheekpieces added, and Nachtgeist rate the chief dangers.
STARDHEM hasn't had much racing and there was encouragement to be gleaned from his sixth in a more competitive handicap at Chepstow on reappearance. Now tried in cheekpieces, he could be set to strike. The Cox Express and Speiriuil were down the field in the same race at Chepstow and should be much closer to form this time.
This could well be the day that NACHTGEIST finds the right race after running in a better race at Ascot.

1st (2) (1/5 +99%) Beauforts Storm |
1/5(+99%) | (2) Beauforts Storm 1/5, Fair hurdler. Creditable second of 7 in novice hurdle at this course (15.9f, good, 4/1) 7 days ago, clear of rest. Second in a couple of ordinary maiden hurdles at Naas and here last week; this is tougher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (6/1 +82%) Mile End |
6/1(+82%) | (4) Mile End 6/1, Fairly useful Flat winner. Seventeenth of 26 in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to soft, 16/1) 25 days ago. Cheekpieces on for 1st time. Hurdle debut. Has only run beyond 7f once on the Flat; tried in cheekpieces and an interesting runner. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (10) (25/1 +83%) Nugentstown Sue |
25/1(+83%) | (10) Nugentstown Sue 25/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighth of 13 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, good, 66/1) on NH debut 23 days ago. Ran a shade better than her finishing position at Fairyhouse but a lot more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (11) (12/1 +92%) Phildante |
12/1(+92%) | (11) Phildante 12/1, 80/1, seventh of 14 in novice hurdle at Gowran (16f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Tongue strap on for 1st time. Tongue-tied after finishing well beaten in both maiden hurdle starts; others preferred. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (13) (28/1 +86%) Watty Show |
28/1(+86%) | (13) Watty Show 28/1, Once-raced maiden. 200/1, twelfth of 21 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 11 days ago. Mid-division in a good Navan mares' maiden hurdle; more needed here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (14/1 +65%) Hashtag Doyen |
14/1(+65%) | (6) Hashtag Doyen 14/1, Doyen mare. Dam unraced. Wears tongue strap. The betting should guide to expectations. Stoutly bred and wears a tongue-tie for her debut; worth a market check. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (5) (80/1 +60%) Cnoc An Locha |
80/1(+60%) | (5) Cnoc An Locha 80/1, Once-raced maiden. Eighteenth of 21 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, good to soft, 200/1) on NH debut 11 days ago. Never a factor in a Navan maiden hurdle 11 days ago; makes no appeal on that evidence. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (7) (150/1 0%) I'll Treat Ya |
150/1(0%) | (7) I'll Treat Ya 150/1, Gatewood mare. Dam unraced. Likely outsider on debut. Plenty of stamina in her pedigree; best watched on debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (12) (66/1 +67%) Pippa Mo Chroi |
66/1(+67%) | (12) Pippa Mo Chroi 66/1, Once-raced maiden. 66/1, seventh of 10 in novice hurdle at this course (15.5f, soft) on NH debut. Off 22 months. Down the field in a C&D maiden hurdle almost two years ago and not seen since. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Paul Townend sides with French recruit KARAMOJA. The Masked Marvel filly was third in Listed company on her jumping debut at Auteuil in September 2023 having been placed in two bumpers previously. She now makes her debut in the Gigginstown colours. Stablemate Baby Kate is a strong second string. The daughter of Augusta Kate won two bumpers last season before a slightly disappointing effort in the Grade 2 mares' contest at Aintree, where she was reported to have run flat. Beauforts Storm has been runner-up twice recently, but faces a stronger calibre of rival now.
This looks another Willie Mullins benefit, with French import KARAMOJA, the mount of Paul Townend, preferred to last season's dual bumper scorer Baby Kate. Recent Wexford bumper winner Glens Lullaby may prove best of the remainder.
The fact that Paul Townend elects to ride French import KARAMOJA here ahead of Listed bumper winner Baby Kate makes her the choice

1st (8) (6/1 -9%) Cardamon Hill |
6/1(-9%) | (8) Cardamon Hill 6/1, Resumed winning ways in 4-runner handicap chase at Wetherby (24.2f, good, 5/2) 12 days ago. Not sure to be in same form now. Suited by the return to good ground when winning at Wetherby 12 days ago; up just 1lb. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (17/2 -21%) Cartonne |
17/2(-21%) | (3) Cartonne 17/2, Won back-to-back handicap chases last winter and posted creditable efforts in defeat at Ludlow and Hereford during the spring. Shaped as if better for the run after 5 months off when fourth at Huntingdon but got no further than the second at Wetherby since (pulled hard back up in trip). He's on a competitive mark on last season's best form and is one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (9/1 -38%) High Moon |
9/1(-38%) | (4) High Moon 9/1, Has developed a patchy record but did hint at a revival following 6 months off when fifth of 15 in handicap chase at Carlisle (20f, good to soft) 35 days ago, no extra run-in. Lines up here with yard firmly amongst the winners if building on that now. Returned from a break with a fair fifth of 15 at Carlisle and may be able to build on that. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 +14%) Ganapathi |
12/1(+14%) | (2) Ganapathi 12/1, Useful hurdle/chase winner for Willie Mullins but losing run stretches back to June 2022 and he hasn't set the world alight in 5 starts for present yard. Continues to drop down the weights but pulled up last time and has something to prove. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (1) (13/2 -136%) Kandor |
13/2(-136%) | (1) Kandor 13/2, Left hurdling debut form well behind when winning novice at Perth and acquitted himself well under a penalty at Kelso. Well held from a stiff opening mark next time, however, and failed to complete sent chasing in a first-time tongue strap at Ayr 2 weeks ago. Remains with potential as a chaser. Fell on chase debut at Ayr but retains potential, especially now going right-handed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (9/2 +10%) Brandy Mcqueen |
9/2(+10%) | (6) Brandy Mcqueen 9/2, Made a winning chase debut at Kelso 13 months ago and having essentially struggled since, he stopped the slide after 3 months off when runner-up back at that venue last month. Didn't jump well enough from 2 lb out of the weights at Carlisle since but will find this less competitive. Runner-up at Kelso last month but jumped poorly and pulled up at Carlisle most recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (5) (13/8 +73%) Wild Side Of Life |
13/8(+73%) | (5) Wild Side Of Life 13/8, Easily opened his account in Irish points at third attempt and runner-up on 2 of his 3 completed starts in novice hurdles. Better than bare result on handicap bow at Southwell final start but stamina/fitness to prove on chase bow/return. 3m point winner who could relish the switch to fences and stable does very well here. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (7) (25/1 -178%) Everyday Champagne |
25/1(-178%) | (7) Everyday Champagne 25/1, Runner-up first 3 starts this season but well held both starts since. Needs to bounce back. Runner-up three times in a row in May-July but not at the same level the last twice. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 3 race.
The Lucinda Russell stable has hit form of late and another chance can be given to KANDOR, who fell on his chase debut when moving into contention at Ayr recently. Runner-up in a 3m point-to-point before, the five-year-old should improve for the rise in distance and he is narrowly preferred to Wetherby winner Cardamon Hill, who has been raised just 1lb for that effort. Cartonne, who was favourite for the aforementioned contest, unseated his rider early in the piece but is worth a second look on this occasion.
It could be worth chancing HIGH MOON, who hinted at a revival on his comeback 5 weeks ago and may well build on that with his yard in good form. Brandy McQueen is feared most back down in class.
Leicestershire trainer Laura Morgan has an impressive 29% strike-rate here and her sole runner here today is WILD SIDE OF LIFE.

80/1(-142%) | (3) Desert Halo 80/1, Gaps between all 3 bumper starts, showing minor promise. Sixth in a novice at Fontwell on hurdling debut and looks more one for handicaps. Faded when behind Ami Bondhu on recent hurdles debut at Fontwell (2m1f; sixth, beaten 37l). |

4th (11) (12/1 -118%) The Two Harrys |
12/1(-118%) | (11) The Two Harrys 12/1, €75,000 buy from the family of useful hurdler/fairly useful chaser Publican. Signs of ability in bumpers, particularly on debut, and should be well prepared for this hurdling debut after 7 months off. Some ability in bumpers; may well need further over hurdles (debut) in time; monitor only.. |

5th (2) (10/11 +55%) De Kingpin |
10/11(+55%) | (2) De Kingpin 10/11, Well-bred 5-y-o who was picked up for £70,000 after finishing runner-up on second of 2 starts in Irish points. Encouragement in both a bumper and novice hurdle (third at Sandown) and is open to improvement. Shaped encouragingly when third on Sandown hurdles debut (2m maiden; 14-1); shortlisted.. |

7th (9) (22/1 -22%) Summer In Milan |
22/1(-22%) | (9) Summer In Milan 22/1, Showed ability on his only start in Irish bumpers (for P. M. J. Doyle) having earlier won a point. Low-key start over hurdles so far for this stable and will probably make more impact once qualified for a mark. Slightly better when fourth at Fontwell (2m3f; beaten 17l) latest; handicapping awaits.. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (1) (40/1 -233%) Ami Bondhu |
40/1(-233%) | (1) Ami Bondhu 40/1, Left debut form well behind when landing a Fakenham bumper with something to spare in November 2023. Not in quite the same form at Warwick 2 months later and yet to seriously threaten over hurdles. Fakenham bumper winner; low key over hurdles so far (0-2); others are more obvious.. |

|PU| (7) (150/1 +40%) Planxty |
150/1(+40%) | (7) Planxty 150/1, No form on Flat in 2022 for John Gallagher and pulled up on hurdling bow at Fontwell 5 months ago. Up against it. Pulled up after trying to refuse on hurdles and stable debut at Fontwell (2m5f; 250-1).. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
A winner off a mark of 90 and currently rated 97 on the Flat, MILLER SPIRIT appeals strongly now he switches codes for a yard that knows the time of day with this type of contender. Sure to have been well schooled for his new venture, the four-year-old might have too much toe for the likes of De Kingpin and Ami Bondhu, who are the pick of those with hurdles experience at this early stage.
MILLER SPIRIT is useful on the Flat and looks set for a big run on his hurdles debut. De Kingpin will improve and can figure, while The Two Harrys is also interesting starting out in this sphere.
The improving Flat handicapper MILLER SPIRIT has race fitness on his side, so can potentially make a winning start over hurdles.

3/1(+73%) | (1) Party Dress 3/1, Fair Flat winner. Twice-raced maiden over hurdles. Fifth of 11 in novice hurdle (14/1) at Fairyhouse (20.2f, good) 16 days ago. Sizeable step forward needed from a win standpoint but she's certainly not without each-way hope. 3rd in Curragh handicap last month but didn't back that up back over hurdles at Fairyhouse. |

KARAFON tries maiden company for the first time over hurdles and should open his account. The Karaktar gelding was a fine fifth in a Grade 2 on his sole outing for Willie Mullins at Leopardstown last Christmas and gets another crack at a novice season now. He had also been Listed-placed over hurdles in France prior to joining the champion trainer. Paul Collins ran a nice race on his track debut at Wexford when third to Empire Succes and may improve a bit from that. The form doesn't look anywhere near as strong as the selection's, though. Party Dress was well beaten when fifth at Fairyhouse, but may be able to pick up some prize money here.
French recruit KARAFON wasn't beaten at all far on debut for Willie Mullins in a strong Grade 2 contest at Leopardstown last December and it will be disappointing should he fail to deliver. Paul Collins made a promising start under Rules at Wexford and he is the clear pick for forecast purposes. Party Dress is best of the rest.
KARAFON has the standout piece of form in the book and will be very hard to beat if he's ready to roll after an absence

1st (3) (5/1 +50%) Top Man Tom |
5/1(+50%) | (3) Top Man Tom 5/1, Winning pointer who was visored when second of 13 in a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in July. Subsequently sold out of Ben Pauling's yard for £13,500 and yet to fire for current yard. Headgear goes back on, though. Well beaten on both runs for current yard but the reapplied visor could be a major plus. |

2nd (5) (12/1 -50%) Evenwood Sonofagun |
12/1(-50%) | (5) Evenwood Sonofagun 12/1, Long-standing maiden who arrives on the back of a poor run at Ayr 15 days ago. Upped in trip and on a handy mark. Runner-up at Stratford in June but below that level since and now 0-25; untested at 3m. |

3rd (7) (8/1 +20%) Aazza |
8/1(+20%) | (7) Aazza 8/1, Winless last term and down the field in a handicap at Bangor on first outing since leaving Rose Dobbin a month ago. Cheekpieces are on but others make more appeal. Her mark continues to fall but there was no return to form on last month's stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (12/1 0%) Les's Legacy |
12/1(0%) | (2) Les's Legacy 12/1, Three-time hurdle winner during 2022/23 campaign. Below form on last couple of starts in the summer and needed the run at Carlisle recently. Up in trip with tongue strap applied. Twice runner-up in the spring but well beaten on last three starts; tongue-tie goes on. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (11/10 +60%) Twoplacesatonetime |
11/10(+60%) | (4) Twoplacesatonetime 11/10, Low-mileage 6-y-o who upped his game in first-time cheekpieces to score at Hexham 3 weeks ago and may have more to offer over this sort of trip, so makes most appeal. Improved form when winning in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Hexham three weeks ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (11/2 -57%) Malangen |
11/2(-57%) | (6) Malangen 11/2, Successful at Hexham (16.2f, good) in June and has been kept busy of late, back to form when runner-up at Ayr last time. Should be on the premises again. Runner-up over 2m4f at Ayr recently and he may be able to stay 3m at this sharp track. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (8) (40/1 -233%) The Geordie Ginge |
40/1(-233%) | (8) The Geordie Ginge 40/1, Modest maiden hurdler who had little chance in a novice at Wetherby last time. Upped in trip now and this is more realistic. Has tumbled down the weights but hasn't shaped as though he's about to take advantage. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Now that the penny has dropped for TWOPLACESATONETIME after a determined success at Hexham, there is likely to be plenty more improvement forthcoming from the six-year-old and he can follow up off 5lb higher. Runner-up at Ayr last time out, Malangen is one that could improve for going up in trip, while Maillot Blanc is a capable sort for last year's winning trainer.
TWOPLACESATONETIME showed a good attitude to prevail in a tight finish at Hexham earlier in the month and he's unexposed as a stayer, so he's preferred to Malangen and Maillot Blanc, who also arrive on the back of solid performances.
The return of a visor could be key for TOP MAN TOM and he gets the nod on his third outing for Sandy Thomson.

PRINCE QUATTRO was well supported when scoring at Limerick nine days ago and can win again, despite a 7lb rise. The Notnowcato gelding made virtually all and was a convincing winner at the finish. Judged on post-race comments, he will appreciate this nice going. Oakley was the subject of a gamble on his handicap hurdle debut at Tipperary back in May, but a bad mistake two from home proved costly. He's a potential danger on his return. Brave Troop is potentially well treated over hurdles compared to his Flat rating and is another to note on his first outing for Charles Byrnes.
OAKLEY would have been right in the mix but for a bad mistake 2 out on handicap bow at Tipperary in May and remains of interest off the same mark on return. Brave Troop is potentially well treated on his Flat form now switched to a handicap so is feared most ahead of Beechfield, who showed much more on his handicap debut at Punchestown last month.
It might pay to side with DREAM ESCAPE (nap) after good runs at Gowran and especially at Cheltenham two weeks ago
