1st (3) (2/1 +60%) Coup De Coeur |
2/1(+60%) | (3) Coup De Coeur 2/1, Fairly useful maiden hurdler/chaser in France. On the retreat when falling 3 out back from a 16-month absence for new yard at Wetherby but did at least step up on that when third in a C&D maiden last time. Placed in a recent C&D maiden (soft) but this may be a stronger race. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (5) (28/1 -75%) Jake Stevens |
28/1(-75%) | (5) Jake Stevens 28/1, Failed to threaten both starts between the flags but was still in touch when falling 3 out in a C&D maiden 19 days ago. Wasn't running at all badly before falling three out here 19 days ago. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (2/1 +0%) What A Johnny |
2/1(+0%) | (2) What A Johnny 2/1, Placed on both completed starts in Irish points and made a winning hurdling debut in 6-runner novice at Stratford (16.3f) 26 days ago, rallying to lead near finish. More needed under a penalty. Point placed so he did well to win a 2m novice around Stratford; should improve. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (5/2 +92%) Treaty Boy |
5/2(+92%) | (7) Treaty Boy 5/2, Placed both starts in Irish points and offered a bit to work on when seventh of 18 in a novice hurdle at Wetherby (19.7f, soft) on Rules debut 24 days ago. May do better. Placed in points; showed some promise, before fading, on his switch to hurdling. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (6) (7/1 +72%) Judicial Review |
7/1(+72%) | (6) Judicial Review 7/1, Went the wrong way in bumpers (fair form at best) and showed nothing on hurdling debut/reappearance at Hexham. Course bumper winner; dropped out very tamely when 12-1 for hurdling debut at Hexham. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (100/1 -52%) Flashy Dude |
100/1(-52%) | (4) Flashy Dude 100/1, Pulled up both starts between the flags and well held completed start over hurdles. Went off 80-1 when tailed off over 2m4f here 12 days ago, having stopped quickly. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|F| (8) (66/1 +34%) Alanine |
66/1(+34%) | (8) Alanine 66/1, Placed on first of 2 starts in points but showed only modest form at best on the Flat. Easily passed over. Beaten in two points before embarking on a fairly forgettable Flat career (1m2f-2m). |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
RECOUP beat a subsequent winner on his hurdling debut over 2m at Ludlow last month and he merits the utmost respect on the back of that performance, despite carrying a 7lb penalty. What A Johnny is also a previous winner over obstacles and could prove to be the main threat to the selection, although Coup De Coeur and Jake Stevens should not be discounted.
RECOUP looked a potentially useful novice in the making when edging out a subsequent winner on his Ludlow hurdle debut last month, so he's a straightforward choice to defy a penalty. What A Johnny and Coup de Coeur can battle it out for minor honours.
Fergal O'Brien's RECOUP handled soft ground well in France and he beat a respected rival with the pair dominant at Ludlow.

1st (7) (7/1 -56%) Soldante |
7/1(-56%) | (7) Soldante 7/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Bit below form fifth of 12 in bumper at Kilbeggan (15.1f, good to soft, 9/2), sticking to task. Off 7 months. Solid each-way chance on this hurdles debut. Beaten in five bumpers but his first two efforts make for very good reading. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (11) (2/9 -10%) Jolie Coeur Allen |
2/9(-10%) | (11) Jolie Coeur Allen 2/9, Second on debut in a bumper for Anne-Sophie Pacault in France last September. 3/1, fifth of 20 in a Grade 2 Aintree (17f, good) bumper starting out for present connections in April. Hooded for this hurdles debut and should prove very hard to beat. French effort reads well and then finishing fifth of 20 in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (14/1 +0%) Bloomhill |
14/1(+0%) | (1) Bloomhill 14/1, Sixth of 15 in novice hurdle (80/1) at Navan (16f, good to soft) on NH debut in February. Wasn't knocked about that day and this dual point winner is likely to do better in time. Dual point winner; ran okay on hurdle debut (2m) but he's bred to want further. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (12) (40/1 -60%) Miss Gherkin |
40/1(-60%) | (12) Miss Gherkin 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. 100/1, well-beaten seventh of 10 to Only By Night in listed bumper at Navan (16f, heavy) 9 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Ran quite well in her two bumpers earlier in the year but was tailed off in her last two. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (4) (66/1 +34%) Oogum Boogum |
66/1(+34%) | (4) Oogum Boogum 66/1, Twice-raced maiden. 250/1, thirteenth of 17 in novice hurdle at Clonmel (19.4f, heavy) 19 days ago. Readily passed over. Fair debut but made mistakes at Clonmel and finished tailed off. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (13) (100/1 +0%) Queen Nel |
100/1(+0%) | (13) Queen Nel 100/1, Twice-raced maiden under Rules. 100/1, ninth of 15 in novice hurdle at Gowran (16f, heavy) on hurdles bow 17 days ago. Not shown a great deal in either run, a Galway bumper and Gowran maiden. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (150/1 -50%) Rusheen |
150/1(-50%) | (6) Rusheen 150/1, Thrice-raced maiden. 250/1, eighth of 15 in novice hurdle at Gowran (16f, heavy) 17 days ago. Pulled up in two points and tailed off in three maidens; has no form claims. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (5) (5/1 +58%) Party Pack |
5/1(+58%) | (5) Party Pack 5/1, Well Chosen gelding. Dam unraced. Will only be of interest on debut if the vibes surrounding him in the betting are notably upbeat. Unraced dam out of a 1m2f/1m4f winner; would need to see some confidence behind him. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (8) (50/1 +50%) The Fairy Man |
50/1(+50%) | (8) The Fairy Man 50/1, Hooded, eighth of 15 in novice hurdle (66/1) at Gowran (16f, heavy) on debut 17 days ago. Also hooded at Gowran where he went off 66-1 for a maiden hurdle and never counted. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (9) (80/1 -220%) The Lucky Lobster |
80/1(-220%) | (9) The Lucky Lobster 80/1, Unseated rider in novice hurdle at Galway (16.4f, heavy, 16/1) on debut 31 days ago. Didn't last long enough at Gowran (unseated mid-race) to know what he might be capable of. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
11th (3) (250/1 -150%) Iris Sacre |
250/1(-150%) | (3) Iris Sacre 250/1, Twenty-first of 22 in novice hurdle (300/1) at Naas (16f, soft) on debut 16 days ago. Best to look elsewhere. 300-1 when always out the back in a 2m maiden hurdle at Naas. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (150/1 -200%) Gentle Lady |
150/1(-200%) | (10) Gentle Lady 150/1, Sageburg mare. Dam, poor maiden hurdler/chaser (stayed 3m), half-sister to useful chaser (stayed 33f) Gonalston Cloud. Doesn't appeal as a probable first-time-out winner on paper. Second foal; dam placed 2m-3m hurdles from 45 starts; belated debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
JOLIE COEUR ALLEN appeals on her hurdling debut. She was runner-up on her sole start on the level in France and was pitched into a Grade 2 mares' bumper at Aintree, on her debut for Willie Mullins, where she finished fifth. An absolute plethora of winners have come out of that race in April. Ciaran Murphy has always thought a bit of Soldante who has been placed in three testing-ground bumpers which will stand to him on his first crack at hurdles. Bloomhill is a former point-to-point winner who had more horses behind him than in front of him when sixth in a Navan maiden hurdle.
JOLIE COEUR ALLEN failed to measure up to expectations when sent off favourite for a Grade 2 bumper on debut for Willie Mullins at Aintree during the spring, but she remains of strong interest having shaped very well indeed on her sole start in France. It will be disappointing should she fail to deliver now switched to hurdles in a race of this nature. Glendine Billy and Soldante both showed ability in bumpers, too, and they could both be in line for place money.
With no depth to this maiden, it's hard getting away from Icare Allen's half-sister JOLIE COEUR ALLEN. She showed plenty in bumpers.

1st (2) (16/5 +54%) Sageburg County |
16/5(+54%) | (2) Sageburg County 16/5, Won on sole outing in Irish points and stepped up on hurdling form when making a successful start to his chasing career at Market Rasen in May. Turned in a rare poor effort 6 months on at Warwick 3 weeks ago but worth another chance. Won chase debut; wind surgery before pulled up three weeks ago; should have come on since. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (6/4 +25%) Tom Creen |
6/4(+25%) | (7) Tom Creen 6/4, Better than ever when making a winning return at Sedgefield (21f) and took another step forward when following up there 19 days ago. Big player. 4-8 for Sam England, with all of those wins registered at Sedgefield on soft ground. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (9/2 +31%) Generous Day |
9/2(+31%) | (3) Generous Day 9/2, Notched fifth career success over fences at Southwell (20.4f) a year ago but isn't the easiest to predict nowadays and was a bit below form after 7 months off at Huntingdon 4 weeks ago. 11yo whose his most recent win came in this race last year (second time out) off 2lb lower. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|U| (5) (11/4 -10%) Fazayte |
11/4(-10%) | (5) Fazayte 11/4, Made a winning return to jumping in handicap hurdle at Market Rasen and completed a jumping hat-trick back over fences at Sedgefield 12 days ago. Has built up a good strike rate since joining the yard but may be in the grip of the handicapper now. 3-5 as a chaser, with one of the wins at 2m4f, and he's a leading contender. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
FAZAYTE completed a hat-trick in this sphere when defying a 4lb rise for a Market Rasen hurdles triumph at Sedgefield earlier this month. The eight-year-old's willing attitude is likely to stand him in good stead once more and he looks the one to beat. Tom Creen arrives in fine fettle having registered a double at the County Durham track recently, although the sharper nature of this course presents him with a different test. Somespring Special likely has better days ahead and she also makes some appeal.
TOM CREEN and Fazayte are both bidding to extend winning sequences but the former looks the one who could still be ahead of his mark. Sageburg County disappointed on his comeback but is worth another chance given the style of his chase debut win at Market Rasen back in May.
Fazayte and Tom Creen are racking up the wins but last year's winner GENEROUS DAY looks interesting with a run under his belt.

1st (4) (18/1 -80%) Deep Charm |
18/1(-80%) | (4) Deep Charm 18/1, Won a 3m chase at Hexham a couple of years ago but he largely struggled last season and was pulled up on his recent reappearance back at Hexham. Others have less to prove. Potentially well handicapped but current wellbeing is an issue. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (7) (3/1 -60%) Reign Suepreme |
3/1(-60%) | (7) Reign Suepreme 3/1, Point winner who finally got off the mark under Rules when just clinging on over C&D 7 weeks ago. Will be competitive if showing up in similar form. First win under rules when toughing it out over C&D last month; just 3lb higher. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/1 +36%) Crixus's Escape |
9/1(+36%) | (1) Crixus's Escape 9/1, Runner-up twice off significantly higher marks in early 2022 but struggled badly last season and finished quite weakly when a well-held third of 6 in C&D handicap on reappearance 19 days ago. May come on for the outing but still enough to prove. Out of form for a while and well behind Onestepatatime here this month when 25-1. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (2) (Evens +56%) Onestepatatime |
Evens(+56%) | (2) Onestepatatime Evens, Added to her very good C&D record when getting on top close home 19 days ago. A further 4 lb rise seems unlikely to prevent another prominent showing. Goes very well here and was a game winner on latest visit; 4lb rise very fair. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 +40%) Storm Tiger |
9/2(+40%) | (3) Storm Tiger 9/2, Point winner. Still a maiden under Rules but he was consistent when switched to handicap chases at the start of 2023, reaching the frame on 4 of his 5 starts. Player if primed after his break. Fair run over 3m at Ludlow last time but 0-12 under rules and not a certain stayer. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (6) (22/1 -529%) Kildrum |
22/1(-529%) | (6) Kildrum 22/1, All 3 career wins have been gained over 3m at Hexham, the latest in May. Might have needed his latest run there after a 6-month break and may fare better now. Poor on recent return from an absence but usually consistent. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ONESTEPATATIME won over C&D earlier in the month and the John Wainwright-trained mare merits plenty of respect off just a 4lb higher mark here. Reign Suepreme also got his head in front over this track and trip last time and he has to be of interest as a result, while Storm Tiger should not be underestimated on his return to action.
ONESTEPATATIME enhanced her good C&D record when leading late on last time and might be able to defy the handicapper again at her favoured venue. Storm Tiger is more than capable off his mark and will be a danger if ready to roll on his reappearance. Reign Suepreme, like the selection a last-time-out C&D winner, is another who should get involved.
The lowly weighted REIGN SUEPREME is marginally preferred to Onestepatatime, with both of them recent C&D winners.

1st (2) (2/5 +0%) Banprionsa |
2/5(+0%) | (2) Banprionsa 2/5, Bred to be smart and easily won her sole point in March. Promising second of 18 in novice hurdle at Cork (20f, soft) on NH debut 23 days ago. Form choice and obvious claims. Impressive point winner who was clear of the rest behind a smart one at Cork. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (10) (7/2 +53%) Rachel's Secret |
7/2(+53%) | (10) Rachel's Secret 7/2, Close second of 14 in novice hurdle at Tramore (20.3f, heavy, 40/1) on NH debut, staying on well. Well held in bumper since. Worth another chance back over hurdles. Looked unlucky when second in a C&D maiden here last month but then a weakener at Galway. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (5/1 +23%) Thegingrin |
5/1(+23%) | (6) Thegingrin 5/1, Better effort when sixth of 14 in novice hurdle at Wexford (16f, good to soft, 7/1) on hurdles bow. Off 8 months. Significantly up in trip. Should progress again. Winning pointer but her two runs under rules have been underwhelming. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (3) (25/1 -178%) Half Off Six Pence |
25/1(-178%) | (3) Half Off Six Pence 25/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form seventh of 12 in novice hurdle at Wexford (16.2f, heavy, 5/1) 11 days ago. Back up in trip. Best run was her penultimate one when beaten 8l in a heavy-ground maiden over C&D. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (5) (33/1 -200%) Not Before Time |
33/1(-200%) | (5) Not Before Time 33/1, Twice-raced maiden. Fourth of 18 in novice hurdle (33/1) at Limerick (16f, heavy) 37 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Should appreciate going further but looks one for further down the line. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (4) (80/1 +20%) Majestic Design |
80/1(+20%) | (4) Majestic Design 80/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. Seventeenth of 22 in novice hurdle at Punchestown (16.5f, soft, 125/1) 12 days ago. Back up in trip. The winner of two points but it's been an unexciting start to her rules career. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (7) (20/1 -43%) Whiskey Lady |
20/1(-43%) | (7) Whiskey Lady 20/1, Modest hurdler. Remains a maiden after 10 hurdle runs. Blinkered for 1st time, creditable fourth of 16 in handicap hurdle (9/1) at Punchestown (20.4f, good to soft). Off 9 months. A 13-race maiden under rules with a handicap mark in the 80s; outclassed. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
8th (9) (125/1 -150%) Pebble Bleu |
125/1(-150%) | (9) Pebble Bleu 125/1, Lightly-raced maiden under NH rules. 100/1, tailed-off last of 10 to Only By Night in listed bumper at Navan (16f, heavy) 9 days ago, dropping away quickly. Switches from bumpers to hurdles. Fair fifth at Clonmel but has shown nothing since then; opposable. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
9th (1) (200/1 -100%) Angelofthemorning |
200/1(-100%) | (1) Angelofthemorning 200/1, Once-raced maiden. Thirteenth of 19 in novice hurdle at Navan (16f, heavy, 150/1) on NH debut 9 days ago. Significantly up in trip. 150-1 when tailed off in a Navan maiden only last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
10th (8) (200/1 -100%) In The Blood |
200/1(-100%) | (8) In The Blood 200/1, Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. Twelfth of 16 in novice hurdle at Fairyhouse (16f, soft, 125/1) on hurdles bow 57 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Some promise on debut but tailed off since then in a bumper and maiden hurdle. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
BANPRIONSA was outgunned in a maiden hurdle at Cork, but finished well clear of the remainder in second and can go one better. This slight step up in trip ought to suit her well as former winner of a point-to-point. There is surely more to come from Thegingrin who was a winner 'between the flags' last year before finishing sixth in a bumper and a maiden hurdle last season. She could return in good heart after a break. Rachel's Secret disappointed in a bumper at Galway but, prior to that, was runner-up over flights in Tramore which gives her claims. Whiskey Lady ran one of her better races when fourth at Punchestown and the form has been franked. She would prefer better ground, though.
BANPRIONSA pulled clear with another well-regarded sort when second of 18 at Cork on debut and should prove hard to beat. Rachel's Secret and Thegingrin can fight out minor honours.
Barring accidents, this should be a walk in the park for BANPRIONSA who was clear of the rest in chasing home a talented mare at Cork.

1st (5) (9/2 +63%) Ali Star Bert |
9/2(+63%) | (5) Ali Star Bert 9/2, Landed a gamble on just his second start over fences at Uttoxeter and impressive when following up at Chepstow (26.2f, good to soft) in February. Mixed record since, however, below form sixth of 18 in handicap chase at Warwick (25.4f, heavy) 21 days ago. Two convincing wins in February on good to soft and good; poor show on latest start. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (3) (7/4 +56%) Sadler's Bay |
7/4(+56%) | (3) Sadler's Bay 7/4, Saddle slipped when an unlucky third in handicap hurdle at Warwick (25f, good to soft) in May and decent start over fences when fourth at Plumpton on return 3 weeks ago. Entitled to come on for that. Made a satisfactory chase debut at Plumpton three weeks ago; one to consider seriously. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (2) (5/2 +17%) Star Flyer |
5/2(+17%) | (2) Star Flyer 5/2, Reached the frame in 2 bumpers and fair form at best over hurdles. Chaser on looks and duly offered something to work on switched to fences after 6 months off when third at Huntingdon. Should improve on that and considered. Third on chase debut was his best form, when stepped back from 3m (one attempt) to 2m4f. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (6) (7/1 -250%) Eurkash |
7/1(-250%) | (6) Eurkash 7/1, Only one win from 23 starts (on his second try over fences) but was only just denied by a match-fit rival at Warwick on return 3 weeks ago. Does have a rather inconsistent profile of late but still has to be taken seriously in first-time headgear. Well down the weights; minor honours on last three completions, beaten a neck last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (8) (5/1 +33%) Rolling Clouds |
5/1(+33%) | (8) Rolling Clouds 5/1, Made frame all 5 starts in points but well held in maiden/novice hurdles and fared no better (despite strength in the betting) switched to fences/handicaps last 2 starts. Off 8 months. Headgear on. Modest form last term, switched from hurdles to fences for last two starts; first headgear. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (10) (66/1 -65%) Moroval |
66/1(-65%) | (10) Moroval 66/1, Sprang a major surprise when 100/1 winner of this race last year off 4 lb lower but well held next 3 starts. Off 7 months and 2 lb out of the handicap. This race in 2022 saw him open his account at the 30th attempt, from the back at 100-1. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
EURKASH offered plenty of encouragement when finishing a close-up second over a trip short of his best (2m4f) at Warwick. That was the nine-year-old's seasonal bow and any improvement for that and the extra yardage could make him tough to beat, with first-time cheekpieces also likely to help. Star Flyer posted a solid third on his chasing debut at Huntingdon and is feared most off 2lb lower. Sadler's Bay is another to note.
It could be worth chancing BRING THE ACTION, who should strip fitter for his return and is potentially on a good mark back in this sphere. Star Flyer made a decent start over fences when third at Huntingdon and rates a big threat with improvement likely, with Eurkash another to consider having only been just denied on his comeback at Warwick.
Stepping back up in trip can suit SADLER'S BAY judged on his bold show in a 3m1f handicap hurdle in May. Star Flyer is next best.

1st (6) (3/1 +0%) Harper Valley |
3/1(+0%) | (6) Harper Valley 3/1, Steadily progressive form, getting off the mark at the fourth time of asking in 2½m Hexham novice when last seen in May. The unexposed 6-y-o likely has more to offer now handicapping after a break. Looks well handicapped on the form of his novice win back in May. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (4) (3/1 +14%) Hashtag Boum |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Hashtag Boum 3/1, Irish point winner who opened her Rules account in decisive fashion in handicap at Kelso (23f) in April. Badly hampered when sixth of 9 at Market Rasen next time and she could resume her progress after a break. Player. Progressive before flopping in May last time and there were excuses. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (9/2 -50%) Ashington |
9/2(-50%) | (1) Ashington 9/2, Poor effort at Aintree last time but had recorded a string of creditable efforts in defeat prior to that. Type to bounce back. Has not won for a good while but enjoys small fields and this is easier than last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (7) (4/1 +50%) Prince Nino |
4/1(+50%) | (7) Prince Nino 4/1, Won twice over 2½m at Perth at the end of the summer. Creditable fourth of 10 over 17f here in this headgear combination 19 days ago. Good fourth over shorter here last time when not beaten far; has won over this distance. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
5th (3) (9/2 +31%) Theatre Legend |
9/2(+31%) | (3) Theatre Legend 9/2, Went extremely close to cashing in on a much-reduced mark on his return from 17 months off when second over C&D in October. Respectable 4½ lengths sixth of 9 at Musselburgh since. Has returned from a mammoth absence in good form; down in grade from last time. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (18/1 -260%) Hartur D'oudairies |
18/1(-260%) | (2) Hartur D'oudairies 18/1, Fairly useful form over hurdles for Dan Skelton. Left that yard after running poorly on his chase debut/reappearance at Warwick 3 weeks ago. Betting perhaps the best guide to expectations on first run for new yard. Poor over fences on return; has moved from Dan Skelton; on a dangerous mark. |

40/1(-82%) | (5) Polisud 40/1, Fairly useful chase/hurdle winner at best in France but pulled up in 2 outings for this yard 10 months apart. Brian Hughes up but could only consider if backed. Pulled up in last two runs but well handicapped on old French form. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HARPER VALLEY won a novice hurdle at Hexham in May when last seen and that effort suggests that he can be successful in a race of this nature off a mark of 105. Hashtag Boum failed to fire on her most recent outing but it is far too soon to be writing her off, especially in an event as modest as this. Others to consider are Ashington and Hartur D'oudairies.
Unexposed HARPER VALLEY and Hashtag Boum might be the pair to focus on, with a narrow preference for the former who switches to handicap company on the back of his Hexham novice success in May. Ashington competes below a mark of 120 for the first time in handicap hurdles and is another who could have a say.
Although he lacks a recent run, HARPER VALLEY looks nicely handicapped on the form of his novice success at Hexham.

11/2(+31%) | (1) Robyndeglory 11/2, C&D winner. Below form when remote third of 13 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (24f, heavy, 7/1) 37 days ago. Creditable third at Fairyhouse prior to that. Off a similar mark when winning at Fairyhouse (2m4f, yielding) earlier this year. |

Well handicapped on chase exploits this year; second in a non-handicap hurdle latest. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
MITIVA should make the most of this easier opportunity having shaped well in a stronger contest at Thurles last time. A former bumper winner, the Liz Doyle-trained five-year-old was well supported close to the off and after travelling nicely throughout, she was just tapped for toe late on, suggesting this step up in trip is exactly what she needs. Off a mark of 102, the JP McManus-owned mare looks nicely treated. Good As Hell has to be a contender off a rating some 24lb lower than her chase mark. The daughter of Shantou remains relatively unexposed over hurdles so will be a threat to all. C&D winner Robyndeglory continues to run well, finishing third on her latest three starts. Returning to this venue could see the eight-year-old step up once again.
Although C'EST RIEN is a 17-race maiden she hasn't had too many chances in handicaps and she shaped well enough at Fairyhouse last time to think she has a race in her off this mark. Magic Conqueror made a solid return to action when runner-up at Thurles last month and is second choice ahead of Mitiva, who also arrives on the back of a good effort at Thurles.
Although a 17-race maiden, C'EST RIEN has twice performed well in a tongue-tie and her turn looks near.

The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Ned Cash displayed enough ability on his fifth-placed debut in a bumper at Warwick last season to suggest that he could land a race in this sphere. He makes most appeal of those with experience, but newcomer JUST LUCKY SIVOLA gets the nod. Paul Nicholls' four-year-old is a half-brother to a French Listed hurdle winner, and sustained support in the market would increase interest further. Lindy Reilly could fare best of the remainder.
French-bred JUST LUCKY SIVOLA is from the family of high-class pair Cyborgo and Hors La Loi III so he's taken to make a winning start for his top trainer. Ned Cash shaped well first-time up at Warwick despite finishing lame so is respected, while Weem is another newcomer to note.
Ned Cash showed up well in April but faces some interesting newcomers, notably the Nicholls-trained JUST LUCKY SIVOLA.

1st (3) (4/1 +43%) Contre Ordre |
4/1(+43%) | (3) Contre Ordre 4/1, Fairly useful chaser in France who offered little upon joining present yard last season. Mark has eased plenty though, and he ran respectably on return when fourth of 11 in handicap here (19.3f) 19 days ago. Needs to build on that dropped back in trip. The signs were more encouraging here recently when under 5l away. |

2nd (5) (13/2 -18%) Six One Nine |
13/2(-18%) | (5) Six One Nine 13/2, Consistent type who was runner-up twice at Newcastle last season and he again ran creditably when fourth of 12 in handicap chase at that venue back in May. Not out of things if ready to roll back from 6 months off. Off since a fairly close fourth at Newcastle in May; chance on that effort. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (4) (11/8 +45%) Take Centre Stage |
11/8(+45%) | (4) Take Centre Stage 11/8, Scopey sort who was placed twice over hurdles last term and possible he paid for an overly-positive ride when fourth on return/chase debut at Kelso (17f) in October. That was undoubtedly an encouraging effort and he's well worth considering. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Not far off his best form when fourth on his switch to fences at Kelso one month ago. |

4th (2) (5/2 -11%) Guillaume |
5/2(-11%) | (2) Guillaume 5/2, Winning pointer who ran to a similar level as on chase debut when fourth of 11 in novices' handicap at Doncaster (16.3f) 11 days ago. That was his first start for 7 months and capable of better. Tongue tie on 1st time. Ran well at Doncaster 11 days ago after a lengthy break; can go well. |

5th (6) (16/1 -100%) Budarri |
16/1(-100%) | (6) Budarri 16/1, Successful twice at Musselburgh last winter and posted good placed efforts in pair of Hexham handicaps (at up to 20f) this summer. No impact back from 5 months off at first-named venue 3 weeks ago but that may well have blown the cobwebs away. Can need his first run back from a break, as on latest start; on a competitive mark. |

6th (7) (28/1 -133%) Stowaway John |
28/1(-133%) | (7) Stowaway John 28/1, Maiden over hurdles who showed aptitude for chasing when runner-up at Hexham (20f) last spring. However, absent since finishing well held (set stiff task) back at that venue in June of last year and others make greater appeal. Second in one of his two chase starts but has been absent for 535 days. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Although course winner SIX ONE NINE failed to get his head in front during his last campaign, he posted several creditable efforts in defeat and could be worth chancing on his reappearance. Guillaume made a satisfactory return to action when fourth at Doncaster and he is also worthy of consideration, along with Take Centre Stage, who offered enough promise on his fourth-placed chase debut at Kelso to suggest he is up to winning at this level.
Placed twice over hurdles last term, TAKE CENTRE STAGE displayed plenty of promise when fourth on chase debut at Kelso last month, an overly-positive ride seemingly catching him out having gone comfortably like the best horse at the weights. Open to improvement in this sphere, he can confirm the promise of that run and come out on top. Guillaume for Donald McCain and Six One Nine head up the dangers.
The call is TAKE CENTRE STAGE (nap) who jumped well on his chase debut at Kelso and looked as though he might win for a long way.

15/2(+38%) | (14) Golden Symphony 15/2, First run since leaving Alan Donoghue when third of 17 in handicap hurdle at Limerick (22f, soft, 50/1) 124 days ago. Enters calculations. Lengthy absences have been a feature of her career, good effort at Limerick in July. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
The Bowe family-owned and trained KILN TIME may be able to follow up his recent win at Wexford. Having finished runner-up at Fairyhouse on his return from a long absence, the seven-year-old took another step forward to record a first career win last time. Lightly raced with just the five runs to his name, the son of Leading Light has scope for further improvement in the coming months. C&D winner Cruisin Susan hinted at a return to form when a staying-on fourth at Wexford earlier this month. A maiden hurdle winner here last August, she could benefit from returning to this tight track. Early Arrival also registered his sole career win to date at this venue, but has shown enough in subsequent outings to suggest he is capable of defying his present handicap mark.
KILN TIME has much improved since switched to handicaps and should have more to offer having pulled clear with the runner-up at Wexford 11 days ago. Golden Symphony made a decent start for this yard when third at Limerick so is respected, while Buachaillbocht is one to note now handicapping for shrewd connections.
A 6lb rise in the ratings for winning at Wexford may not be enough to prevent the late-developing KILN TIME from following up.

1st (8) (5/4 +58%) Stratton Oakmont |
5/4(+58%) | (8) Stratton Oakmont 5/4, Decent efforts both starts in handicap hurdles last term and has since scored twice between the flags. Jumping was far from perfect when third of 14 on return at Warwick (21f, heavy) but this stiffer test could be just what he needs and current mark appears to be a fair one. Point wins; new rules trip is worth a go following creditable 3rd of 14 at Warwick (2m5f). |

2nd (3) (5/4 +69%) Mountain Leopard |
5/4(+69%) | (3) Mountain Leopard 5/4, Bumper winner in 2019 and fair form over hurdles in a light career since, runner-up on 3 of her 5 completed starts in this sphere, including over 20.4f here (good) when last seen in May. Stepping back up in trip looks a good move and likely player with his yard in terrific form. Needs improvement but his yard's tremendous recent form puts him on the shortlist. |

3rd (2) (9/2 -13%) Our Bill's Aunt |
9/2(-13%) | (2) Our Bill's Aunt 9/2, Consistent sort who opened her account at Chepstow on last season's reappearance. Signed that campaign off with a good second back at Chepstow (23.6f, good to soft) in April and while she's likely to face competition for the lead here, a bold show is anticipated. Consistent; should be on the premises if resuming in same vein after 227 days off. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
STRATTON OAKMONT showed plenty of promise when third over 2m5f at Warwick three weeks ago on his return from a spell between the flags. With the benefit of that run behind him, the seven-year-old could get the better of Mountain Leopard, who brings decent form to the table but hasn't been seen since May. Others to consider are Steal My Sunshine and Our Bill's Aunt.
This step up in trip could be the catalyst for a first success under Rules for STRATTON OAKMONT, who put in a good shift when third on his reappearance at Warwick three weeks ago, with the re-opposing Steal My Sunshine back in fourth. Mountain Leopard was runner-up here on his latest start during the spring and is feared most ahead of the consistent Our Bill's Aunt.
This looks competitive but stable form edges the vote for the Venetia Williams-trained MOUNTAIN LEOPARD.

11/1(-83%) | (4) Mr Rumbalicious 11/1, Successful twice on the level back in the spring and overcame market weakness to make a winning handicap hurdle debut in 8-runner event at Cartmel (17.2f) in August. Nudged up 3 lb but may have more to offer. Only 3lb higher than for his Cartmel win in August and that was his stable debut. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Whitehaven was a useful performer on the Flat and offered enough in three qualifying runs over hurdles to suggest that his opening mark of 99 is workable in this sphere. Donald McCain's gelding warrants respect off top weight but slight preference is for FOR THREE, who may have made his move too soon when collared in the closing stages over C&D and a 4lb rise doesn't appear insurmountable. Subsequent winner El Jefe was behind in third that day and completes the shortlist.
FOR THREE shaped well setting out for a new yard from his much-reduced mark when runner-up over C&D 19 days ago, so he's the percentage call to go one better. Last-time-out winners El Jefe and Mr Rumbalicious head the opposition.
For Three had EL JEFE behind when they met here this month but Conor Rabbitt can claim his 5lb on the selection this time.

7/1(+7%) | (10) Wee Charlie 7/1, Fair hurdler. Similar form when fourth on Limerick chase debut but well-held fifth at Gowran (20f, heavy) 17 days ago. Claims if he can bounce back to the Limerick form. Respectable run at Limerick, plenty to find with Noble Blue after remote fifth at Gowran. |

40/1(-60%) | (15) Mermaids Cave 40/1, Lightly-raced maiden. Below form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Galway (24f, heavy, 20/1) 31 days ago. Makes chase debut. Remote second in a Perth novice hurdle, has shown little in races closer to home.. |

The Paul Nolan-trained NOBLE BLUE can record a first career win over fences having chased home a smart sort on his chasing debut last time. Also runner-up in a point-to-point, the five-year-old showed ability in three starts over hurdles but the fact connections switched his attention to chasing so soon clearly suggests they feel this is his forte. Carrig Carol, a winner over hurdles at Fairyhouse last November, was a place behind the Nolan runner in the aforementioned Gowran race. She gives the impression that stepping up to this trip will see her in a better light, although she has plenty to find on that bare form. Point-to-point winner Hot As Pepper will need to stage a revival of sorts having been out of form recently, but the switch to fences makes her of some interest.
If NOBLE BLUE makes the expected progress from his Gowran chase debut he could take a bit of stopping here. Carrig Carol and Wee Charlie will be threats if back to the level of their chase debuts, while Gavin Cromwell's Leish Oscars Son would also firmly enter the reckoning if getting a run.
Paul Nolan's NOBLE BLUE has the beating of several of these on Gowran form and is interesting on account of his point-to-point second

Beaten a fair way starting out in a Ludlow novice last month and she's probably more one for the longer-term. 50-1, 37l sixth of 16 in novice at Ludlow (2m5f, good to soft) so has major work to do. |

1st (12) (Evens +43%) Telepathique |
Evens(+43%) | (12) Telepathique Evens, Confirmed debut promise when landing a 12-runner Warwick bumper in February. Runner-up on hurdles debut in a stronger race than this at Newbury (16.3f, good to soft) 19 days ago and, with improvement on the cards, she can be expected to make a bold bid to go one better here. Bumper winner; 50-1 second to a runaway winner in 2m novice hurdle at Newbury. |

2nd (8) (13/2 +68%) Miss Arabella |
13/2(+68%) | (8) Miss Arabella 13/2, Related to winners and clear signs of ability in bumpers. However, she was never in the hunt on first run over hurdles at Musselburgh and will probably be seen in a better light in handicaps further down the line. Showed some ability in two of her four bumpers; more is needed. |

|B| (3) (25/1 +0%) Ever Ready |
25/1(+0%) | (3) Ever Ready 25/1, Showed only minor promise in a brace of bumpers and hurdles debut display at Stratford wasn't overly encouraging. Debut (bumper) appeared to be her best form but even that was modest. |

|F| (13) (100/1 -150%) Two Summers |
100/1(-150%) | (13) Two Summers 100/1, Winner of one of her 17 starts on the Flat, namely a 6f Catterick handicap last October. Recent efforts have lacked spark and stamina is a serious concern now switched to hurdles. Modest form on Flat (failed to show she stays even 1m) and she lost it in recent starts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (1) (11/8 +54%) Alljani |
11/8(+54%) | (1) Alljani 11/8, Fair performer on the Flat in Germany, winner of a 6.5f maiden when last seen in September 2022. Joined a top yard ahead of this hurdles debut and while her stamina has to be taken on trust, she's very much one to note in the betting. Ran five times at about 7f on Flat in Germany in 2022, winning on final occasion. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
In an open event, a chance can be taken on ALLJANI, who was useful on the Flat over 6f/7f in Germany and she could be hard to beat if seeing out the trip here. Telepathique outran odds of 50/1 to finish second at Newbury on her hurdling bow and is likely to be in the mix, while Fortune Forever looks best of the rest.
This represents a good opportunity for TELEPATHIQUE, who made a positive start in this sphere when chasing home a fairly useful and experienced type at Newbury. Fortune Forever was also runner-up on her hurdles debut and is feared most back on better ground after presumably finding conditions too testing last time. Lady Caro is third on the list, while it will be interesting to see which way Alljani, a winner on the Flat in Germany, goes in the betting.
The form from bumpers and hurdle races does not exactly quicken the pulse. However, Fortune Forever and TELEPATHIQUE head that list.

1st (4) (3/1 +14%) Zuckerberg |
3/1(+14%) | (4) Zuckerberg 3/1, Dual winner over fences/on Flat late last year (including here). Form tailed off thereafter but clearly perked up by a 7-month break when second over C&D 19 days ago, headed run-in having made a mistake at the last. Possibilities if arriving in same form. Slowing down at the last fence may have cost him over 2m3f here recently. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (2) (17/2 -6%) Trac |
17/2(-6%) | (2) Trac 17/2, Enjoyed an excellent season over fences last term, scoring three times, including over 21f here in February. Disappointed final start but probably best forgiven his reappearance run at Wetherby 24 days ago. Cheekpieces worn for all 4 career victories return here. Never sighted on his reappearance but that was in a better race than this. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (3) (7/2 +36%) Beat The Edge |
7/2(+36%) | (3) Beat The Edge 7/2, Belatedly off the mark at Wetherby (15f) in March, idling markedly flat and only just holding on. Similar form both starts since, latterly when fifth on return from 7 months off in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago. Not out of things but he does need to be delivered late. Bit to find with Zuckerberg on their recent clash but may have needed the race. |

4th (7) (9/1 +25%) Ashjan |
9/1(+25%) | (7) Ashjan 9/1, Won 3 times over fences (twice around here). Recent efforts not all that inspiring but he may be sharper on the back of his comeback fourth over hurdles at Kelso (20.9f) 17 days ago. Comes here from career-low mark. Good to see him complete latest, though that was over hurdles and still beaten about 17l. |

5th (9) (11/1 +56%) Ocean's Of Money |
11/1(+56%) | (9) Ocean's Of Money 11/1, Remains a maiden and never threatened on the back of a wind op when sixth of 8 in handicap at Ffos Las (2m) 16 days ago. Steps back up in trip now with cheekpieces enlisted. 12-race maiden; beaten nearly 20l at Ffos Las 16 days ago after wind surgery. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
6th (8) (13/2 +46%) Ingleby Mackenzie |
13/2(+46%) | (8) Ingleby Mackenzie 13/2, Fair handicap chaser in Ireland for Henry de Bromhead and best effort for present stable when 7 lengths third of 8 in handicap chase at Musselburgh (15.8f) 3 weeks ago. Return to this longer trip may help on that evidence. Respectable of late but it's unconvincing that he can snap a long losing run. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
7th (6) (28/1 +58%) Glory |
28/1(+58%) | (6) Glory 28/1, Point winner who has shown very little under Rules, well-beaten fourth of 7 in novices' handicap chase here 12 days ago. Tailed off here 12 days ago at odds of 100-1 and he's now 0-35 under. |

|U| (5) (3/1 +33%) Methusalar |
3/1(+33%) | (5) Methusalar 3/1, Hurdles winner for Alan King (at 19.5f) in spring 2022. Not much to shout about since but did shape better than distance beaten suggests over fences at Worcester (23f) 47 days ago, shaping like a non-stayer. This test rates more suitable with tongue tie now fitted. Potentially well handicapped; 2m7f was too far last time; could feature in new tongue-tie.. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
ZUCKERBERG ran a very promising race when second over this C&D on his reappearance earlier in the month and, despite going up 2lb for that performance, he could go one better today with that run expected to bring him on. Methusalar has failed to sparkle in two starts over fences so far but has slipped to an attractive mark and he can take much closer order today. Beat The Edge should also be thereabouts.
The majority of these hold few secrets but ex-pointer BALLYBEG BOSS, who displayed promise over hurdles last term, looks the type to do better in this sphere and could be the way to go on return/back up in trip. Zuckerberg returned with a good second over C&D 3 weeks ago and a repeat gives him claims. Beat The Edge and Methusalar are also worth a look.
Zuckerberg and Beat The Edge are respected but METHUSALAR could be interesting back down in distance.

5/2(+17%) | (1) Kings Halo 5/2, 2/1, good second of 10 in handicap chase at Clonmel (20.4f, heavy) 19 days ago, finding only an unexposed sort too strong and finishing long way clear of the remainder. Can make presence felt. Big chance after Clonmel run when lost out narrowly and finished 20l clear of the third. |

8/1(+43%) | (12) Rochestown 8/1, 12/1, respectable seventh of 16 in handicap hurdle at Cork (24.4f, good to soft) in April, jumping none too fluently. Market should prove a useful guide now handicapping in this sphere back from a break. Now more mature than when qualifying for a handicap mark over fences, of some interest. |

3rd (5) (28/1 +15%) Pana To Milan |
28/1(+15%) | (5) Pana To Milan 28/1, Tenth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Clonmel (16.6f, heavy, 33/1) 33 days ago. Switches from hurdles to chase. Back up in trip. Has struggled in three starts since returning from her summer break, hard to make a case. |

4th (3) (15/8 +32%) Intersky Sunset |
15/8(+32%) | (3) Intersky Sunset 15/8, Given considerate introduction to chasing upon joining present stable and, on the back of another point success, ran out good winner of 20-runner handicap hurdle at Gowran (20f) 17 days ago. Worth keeping on side now handicapping in this sphere. Won a handicap hurdle at Gowran, strong chance now with rider claiming a valuable 7lb. |

5th (4) (10/1 +50%) Maciver |
10/1(+50%) | (4) Maciver 10/1, Fair winner at 22f over hurdles. Ninth of 14 in handicap chase (25/1) at Thurles (18.4f, soft) 5 days ago, reminders early final circuit and unable to land a blow. More needed. C&D maiden hurdle winner, so perhaps unwise to rule out despite modest chase credentials. |

150/1(-355%) | (7) Just For Yuse 150/1, Eleventh of 14 in handicap chase at Thurles (18.3f, soft, 80/1) 26 days ago, tailed off early final circuit. Hard to warm to. Four runs over fences provide no encouragement, tailed off at Thurles on handicap debut. |

40/1(-100%) | (11) Lavinia Fontana 40/1, Seventh of 8 in novice hurdle (150/1) at Galway (20.7f, heavy) 30 days ago, tailed off when slow 4 out. More needed making handicap chase debut. Relatively young mare with potential for improvement, begins in handicaps off a low mark. |

8th (13) (14/1 -75%) Go Battle |
14/1(-75%) | (13) Go Battle 14/1, Remains a maiden after 20 NH runs. Running well when unseated rider in handicap chase (10/1) at Clonmel (20.4f, heavy) 19 days ago, looking sure to be placed. Needs to build on that now. Not the safest of jumpers, place chance on basis of second at Thurles three starts ago. |

10/1(-11%) | (8) Kilashee 10/1, Unreliable individual. 9/2, running well when unseated rider in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (24.3f, heavy) 4 days ago, looking likeliest to finish second. Each-way possibilities. Now 0-10 chasing mistake-prone, tiring when unseating two out at Fairyhouse last week. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (9) (16/1 -167%) Rudy Catrail |
16/1(-167%) | (9) Rudy Catrail 16/1, Latest win in chase at Roscommon in August. Unseated rider in handicap chase (9/2) at Fairyhouse (24.5f, heavy) 21 days ago, racing clear and unseating eighth. Others more persuasive. Front-running veteran, good form during the summer, three most recent runs raise doubts. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (2) (17/2 +29%) Battle Away |
17/2(+29%) | (2) Battle Away 17/2, 6/1, below form sixth of 14 in novice chase at Thurles (18.3f, soft) 26 days ago. Entitled to hold more chance now handicapping in this sphere. Has been running in conditions events, should at least have a better chance in a handicap. |

|PU| (14) (33/1 +0%) Robin De Roost |
33/1(+0%) | (14) Robin De Roost 33/1, Veteran. Seventh of 12 in handicap chase (40/1) at Downpatrick (19.2f, good to soft) in May, never landing a blow. Absent since and others make greater appeal here. Veteran who finished a moderate seventh in two handicap chase outings in the spring. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's race.
Declan Queally has his horses in excellent form at present, with the Co Waterford handler saddling 11 winners from just 16 runners so far this point-to-point season. Successful on the opening day of the current campaign at Castletown-Geoghegan, INTERSKY SUNSET followed up over flights at Gowran in a 20-runner affair. Switching to the larger obstacles now, the 92-rated six-year-old will be ridden by Jack Hendrick who claims a valuable 7lb. Top-weight Kings Halo is given second preference with Danny Mullins in the saddle. Narrowly beaten at Clonmel on his most recent start, the James Dullea-trained eight-year-old is likely to have plenty of supporters in his bid to go a place better. Returning to the scene of his sole success, Maciver is of interest with Darragh O'Keeffe aboard, while others for the shortlist in this competitive contest are Glenmalure Lodge, Rudy Catrail, Kilashee and General Ryan.
Having registered another victory between the flags, INTERSKY SUNSET continued the good work back over hurdles when landing a 20-runner event in good style at Gowran 17 days ago. She's worth keeping on side now her attentions switch back to chasing. Kings Halo rates the chief danger, ahead of General Ryan.
There should be more improvement to come from recent handicap hurdle winner INTERSKY SUNSET (nap), whose rider's claim is an asset.

1st (3) (2/1 +70%) Jack's A Legend |
2/1(+70%) | (3) Jack's A Legend 2/1, Showed a fair bit in bumpers and produced a standout effort over hurdles when third in a Newbury maiden back in December 2021. Not troubled the judge since, though, including pulled up on chase debut when last seen in February. Could only consider if backed. Not seen since poor run in February but has, at times, shown significant promise. |

2nd (1) (11/8 +45%) Ring Of Beara |
11/8(+45%) | (1) Ring Of Beara 11/8, Fair Flat performer who has reached the frame on all bar one of his 6 starts over hurdles. Seemed to have his stamina stretched on heavy ground when fourth at Kelso back hurdling last month and respected on what is likely to be a sounder surface this time. 0-6 over hurdles but ran well on soft ground last month; one to consider. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (6) (9/4 +50%) Ferrybridge |
9/4(+50%) | (6) Ferrybridge 9/4, Didn't show much when trained in Ireland. Hit and miss for new trainer but penultimate Huntingdon fourth wasn't too bad and he's been given a chance by the handicapper. Ex-Irish maiden; yet to build upon last month's quite promising stable debut. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4th (4) (20/1 +29%) Royal Max |
20/1(+29%) | (4) Royal Max 20/1, Modest for Nicky Henderson and no show in 2 handicap hurdles for this yard. A first-time tongue tie and cheekpieces combination needs to make a big difference. Struggled on first two stable starts; tongue-tie/cheekpieces added today. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
Having been given a chance by the handicapper, FERRYBRIDGE is fancied to to get his head in front for the first time in 12 starts. James Owen's charge has been dropped 6lb for his modest fifth at Fakenham and he now appears on a very tempting mark. Ring Of Beara is feared most having also been eased in the ratings, while Jack's A Legend is noted too.
RING OF BEARA should be suited by the return to likely less testing conditions and might be up to giving the weight away to lesser opposition. Second choice is We Gotta Getaway, who could take a step forward now handicapping for the first time. Ferrybridge might also be capable of making an impact having been dropped 6 lb.
The most appealing option is RING OF BEARA, who ran quite well on soft ground at Kelso last month.

7/4(-27%) | (1) Deep Strato 7/4, Half-brother to useful hurdler/smart chaser Visionarian (2m-2½m winner. Dam French 21f chase winner. Successful in his only point in April and a likely sort for leading stable. Won his only point and has joined a leading stable for rules action. |

5th (5) (200/1 -100%) Flexi Lady |
200/1(-100%) | (5) Flexi Lady 200/1, Twice-raced maiden. Last of 8 in bumper at Hexham 45 days ago. Tailed off at Musselburgh and Kelso, suggesting this will also be beyond her. |

6th (3) (9/2 +68%) Musical Masquerade |
9/2(+68%) | (3) Musical Masquerade 9/2, El Kabeir gelding. Half-brother to winning sprinter Greycious Girl. Dam maiden on Flat (stayed 1½m). The betting should help guide to expectations with this one. £4,000 yearling; third foal; half-brother to 6f winner Greycious Girl (RPR 65). |

7th (6) (200/1 -60%) Ideal Vision |
200/1(-60%) | (6) Ideal Vision 200/1, 100/1, last of 12 in bumper at Carlisle (soft) on debut 23 days ago. 100-1 and trailed home last on soft ground at Carlisle three weeks ago. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 5 race.
DEEP STRATO impressed when scoring in facile fashion in a point-to-point at Corbridge back in the spring and he can get off the mark at the first time of asking under Rules. Donald McCain's recruit is a half-brother to smart chaser Visionarian and appears a nice prospect. The biggest danger might be Vanilla Dancer, who was a modest third on debut over C&D but improvement can be expected. Diamond Geezer completes the shortlist.
Point recruit DEEP STRATO gets the nod to make a winning start for the Donald McCain/Brian Hughes combination. Olly Murphy has a good 21% strike-rate in bumpers in the last 5 seasons so his newcomer Diamond Geezer rates a likely threat, while Vanilla Dancer showed a fair level of ability when third on her C&D debut.
Olly Murphy is 3-6 in bumpers at this track and DIAMOND GEEZER is from the family of his high-class Brewin'upastorm.

1st (5) (2/9 +73%) Where's My Jet |
2/9(+73%) | (5) Where's My Jet 2/9, Jet Away gelding. Runner-up sole start in points (Feb 11) and fared comfortably best of those held up when fourth of 14 in bumper at Galway (16.6f) 4 months ago. Since joined top stable and he's very much of interest here. His fourth at Galway has worked out well and he's now with Willie Mullins. |

2nd (9) (10/3 +52%) The Last Drop |
10/3(+52%) | (9) The Last Drop 10/3, Once-raced maiden. 20/1, sixth of 16 in bumper at Galway (16f, heavy) on NH debut 30 days ago. Tongue strap on 1st time. Well-bred filly and there were positives to take from her debut at Galway. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||

4th (1) (28/1 -100%) Battle Roar |
28/1(-100%) | (1) Battle Roar 28/1, €14,000 3-y-o, Let The Lion Roar gelding. Closely related to smart hurdler/chaser Apache Stronghold, stayed 25f, and half-brother to fairly useful chaser Billy Cuckoo. Dam winning pointer. Last of 5 finishers sole start in points (Mar 19). Only 3-1 for his sole point and was perhaps unsuited by the heavy ground. |

66/1(-100%) | (4) Shades Of Tara 66/1, Kayf Tara gelding. Dam 11f/1½m winner. Last of 7 sole outing in Irish points (Apr 21). Passed over on Rules/bumper debut. Finished a remote last in a 3m point back in April; not easily recommended after that. |

6th (3) (50/1 +0%) Lispopple |

WHERE'S MY JET, Cappucino and The Last Drop are the standout names, with preference for the twice raced former. Coming from off the pace, the Jet Away four-year-old finished a fine fourth in a bumper at the Galway Festival and had two subsequent winners in behind. Previously trained by Cormac Farrell, the selection is now in the care of Willie Mullins and with Jody Townend in the saddle, he looks the one to beat. Placed on three of his four starts to date, Cappucino is sure to prove popular with punters. Fourth in a Listed contest on his penultimate start, the Westerner bay was beaten into second when sent off favourite over the course and distance last month. The Last Drop was an encouraging sixth of 16 at Galway and should come on plenty for that debut effort. Noriska De La Mare has some decent form to her name and is a sister to recent Navan bumper winner Springt De La Mare. The Philip Fenton-trained five-year-old has each-way claims, while Battle Roar, a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Apache Stronghold is another that warrants respect.
WHERE'S MY JET patently shaped best of those held up when fourth in a bumper that has worked out well at Galway back in July and he's of definite interest having since joined the Willie Mullins yard. Cappucino rates the chief threat, ahead of The Last Drop.
The suggestion is WHERE'S MY JET who has shown promise in both his runs and he's now with Willie Mullins.

God's Own Getaway |
(2) (11/2 -22%)11/2(-22%) | (2) God's Own Getaway 11/2, Improving 5-y-o who caught the eye with the ground he made up when third of 13 in a Warwick novice (19f) on return 3 weeks ago. Promises to do even better now making a quick switch to handicaps. Respected. Never nearer when placed in his two novice hurdles; one to note on handicap debut. |

1st (6) (11/1 +50%) Aristobulus |
11/1(+50%) | (6) Aristobulus 11/1, Made a successful stable debut on all weather in January. Made the frame over hurdles subsequently, not disgraced when fourth of 6 in handicap at Huntingdon (15.8f) in October. However, suspicion he may find a few too good here. Tended to race freely over hurdles; may have to wait longer before adding to 1m4f Flat win. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2nd (8) (2/7 +79%) Hill Of Tara |
2/7(+79%) | (8) Hill Of Tara 2/7, From a good jumping family and much improved starting out from a low base in handicaps, supplementing his reappearance success at Ffos Las with a dominant display at Leicester (20.5f, heavy) 8 days ago. This tougher but highly likely there's more to come. Big shout in hat-trick bid. Ground is forecast to be very different but no shock if he completes quickfire hat-trick. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3rd (1) (5/1 +33%) Godot |
5/1(+33%) | (1) Godot 5/1, Off the mark in a Plumpton maiden in April and decisive when following up in handicap company at Kempton (21f) in May. Shaped as if needing first start for 6 months at first-named venue 3 weeks ago and entitled to be sharper here. Plumpton (hat-trick bid) three weeks ago was disappointing as he started second favourite. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|PU| (5) (20/1 -167%) Tessy Lad |
20/1(-167%) | (5) Tessy Lad 20/1, Fairly useful handicapper on Flat (stays 1½m) who showed aptitude for this job in pair of starts last winter. At the top of his game on the level in recent months and goes handicapping now in this sphere having changed hands for 26,000 gns last month. Market should guide. Left R Hughes for 26,000gns last month, having been in good Flat form; third hurdle race. |
The chart reads from right to left to today's class 4 race.
HILL OF TARA has made the perfect start to life in handicaps, scoring at Ffos Las and Leicester by an aggregate of almost 24 lengths, and this looks a good opportunity to continue his winning sequence. Venetia Williams' six-year-old escapes a penalty for last week's stroll in a conditional jockeys' event and is very tough to oppose. Montregard might give him most to think about off a nice opening rating, while God's Own Getaway is also worthy of respect.
HILL OF TARA has been much improved following his switch to handicaps this term, supplementing his Ffos Las reappearance success with an utterly dominant display at Leicester 8 days ago. He looks to hold sound claims again and earns the vote to complete the hat-trick. Handicap debutants God's Own Getaway and Montregard rate the chief dangers.
Hill Of Tara goes for his hat-trick but faces at least two promising opponents in MONTREGARD (nap) and God's Own Getaway.
Ths is the racecard key.
